little update:

so I finally finished the rewrite of act 2. this turned out to be a far bigger deal than I ever expected it to be.

can't wait to show you. :)

like, god. act 1, even in its final state, is still fundamentally a story I wrote at age 16. but act 2 is fundamentally a story I wrote at age 29. the difference will be felt.

#nottt thrilled about how long it took to write....#i mean like actually. objectively speaking? i wrote the new act 2 *really* fast.#all things considered i *sped* through the damn thing.#but considering i just have a 2-month buffer before i've gotta start posting the stuff i'm working on *right now???*#yeah maybe we're gonna hit the end of that buffer before the story's done.#we might even hit it during act 3. god that'd be disappointing.#hitting it during act 4 is a lot more likely. and i'd actually be okay with that.#i just gotta... hope that i can get a foothold in act 3 sooner rather than later. and speed through at least *some* part of it.
