So I started the dread Okumura arc of persona 5 royal, and maybe it's royal changes to the arc but like it isn't a horrible start. Morgana whole little struggle had like a good bit of built-up. Also, I was so ready to hate Atlus for antagonizing Ryuji or for Mona to be hypocritical, but no. Mona was feeling useless and Ryuji kept rubbing salt on it because that's what Mona always does to him. He just thought it was the mean-spirited teasing they always do. Mona was just in a very vulnerable state.

That aside more on Haru's whole introduction getting cut because of this little arc. I love Haru and Morgana's little friendship since she is literally the only one that can get him to swallow his pride for a moment. So like I can't even be mad at this being how we get introduced to her. Maybe it helps that I actually know Haru since I played p5 before royal. Definitely helps that she isn't just some rando and there is a couple more scene with her before her introduction.

I do hate how he basically calls her useless after we are done with that arc. Like buddy we just went through this.

Akira follows, worried at the way Nakami was forcing his posture through his pain but trusting and respecting his wishes not to fuss over him in public. Nakami moves toward a seat, but notices a towering figure looking over a clipboard in the corner.

"Ah. Jiro?" He steps closer, offering the boy a polite smile. "I'm Nakami Furukawa. You likely don't know me, I don't believe we ever interacted after you were brought out of your coma, and we only crossed paths a couple of times before then. It's a bit unorthodox, but I'm a graduate. The graduated upperclassmen of your house, worked with me, while I was still here, so my files should still be on-hand. I expected my checkup to be with Darkwick General, but Nicolas said they were rather inundated at the moment, and that, ah, studying me would likely be of interest to you and your captain." The word 'studying' leaves a bitter taste on his tongue, not-so-fond memories of previous Mortkranken visits flooding him. "I have an anomalous illness, for lack of a better term. It's chronic, and seems to be terminal. Attempts thus far to properly diagnose and cure it have proven futile, though I receive bi-weekly treatments and a slew of prescriptions to help my condition."

He gives Jiro another smile, his eyes a little sad, though he didn't hesitate or beat around the bush about his prognosis. "I don't expect progress anymore, honestly; the check-ups are just necessary now to track my condition and any new developments."

I've suffered a great deal of memory loss." Then it's immediately back to business. Jiro takes a moment to check his schedule. Sure enough, he had forgotten that Professor Nicholas told him about this. It was no wonder there were names on the list he didn't recognize. "Ah. Yes. There's been an incident at Darkwick General recently. I'm sure you've already heard about the patient that ingested mermaid flesh. Please. Have a seat and I'll be with you shortly." It takes some time for him to read through the extensive medical file. He would hazard a guess it rivalled his own. "Yuri - Mortkranken's Captain - will be the one working on developing any treatments. I lack the necessary qualifications. As such, I have been put in charge with your checkups. You'll probably be seeing me more than anyone else here." He looks over at Akira. "Just a formality, but what is your relationship to the patient? If you're going to be here, I need to be sure there's no breach of confidential patient information."

Your heart was pounding. You could hear your blood rushing through your ears when you stopped occasionally to catch your breath and take in your surroundings. Somehow, by some miracle, you'd managed to slip out of the bindings that held you down in one of the rooms of Ryo's apartment.

You didn't even understand what was happening to you. They claimed that they loved you. Said they just wanted to keep you safe. But the had completely changed. You weren't allowed to leave. See anything outside. Talk to anyone. They were protecting you.. from literally everything. They were not the same men that they used to be. You didn't want to live like this. You cared for them, but they were taking it too far. Their love for you used to feel so sweet and nice.. but no longer. Your loved ones must be searching for you as well surely. Turning the corner, you realized you had finally found what looked like the front door. You barely remembered since it had been so long since you had seen it, but it definitely looked familiar. Running toward it, you began to reach for the door knob.

"Oh, fuck.." You whispered to yourself. The door opened immediately. Ryo slammed the door against the wall, clearly showing his anger and frustration. Akira was standing right behind him, his eyes showing sadness and loneliness. For some reason, guilt ran throughout your whole body when you realized you'd been caught.

"Where exactly do you think you're going?" Ryo asked, walking inside and shutting the door behind him as Akira entered. "How did you get out?" Before you had time to speak, Akira placed his arm on your shoulder and squeezed gently.

"Please, stop trying.. this is the third time. We really are trying to keep you safe." You jerked your shoulder away from him in anger.

"Protect me from what!? My own family!? My friends!?" You screamed at them both. Looking at each other, Ryo sighed.

"Demons." He stated. You scoffed.

"You've got to be kidding." You crossed your arms. "Why the fuck could you not just tell me that, exactly?"

"Because, you're smart. And I did not expect you to believe it. However, you do know what Akira is." He sighed. "There are more of them, gaining in numbers every single day."

"Yeah." Akira added. "It's getting dangerous. We are trying to keep things contained and calm, but it's getting rough." He walked up behind you, pulling you into him for a hug. He squeezed you in his arms tightly. "We love you.. I.. we, can't let anything happen to you."

"He's right. We are protecting you. Whether you can see it or not." Ryo pointed to the door. "I was trying to spare your feelings, but fine. Go on outside, if that's really what you wish. I guarantee you won't survive the night. Not with Akira's scent all over you. You will die within the hour." Tearing up, you were unsure of how to respond to all of this. They had to be kidding.. right?

"I still don't understand why you couldn't just tell me." Akira reached up, doing his best to wipe your tears from your cheeks while still being behind you.

"Because.." Akira held you tightly as he spoke. It seemed like he was very hesitant. "You're too stubborn. You'd want to help. And we can't have you putting yourself in danger." He was right, and you knew it. "It's so bad out there.. please just trust me when I say that. I'm begging you."

"Now." Ryo began walking to you. He held your cheek with his hand, rubbing your face gently with his thumb. "Stop fighting. I will hold you here no matter how badly you want out." You knew it wasn't how it sounded. He simply cared for you. "Stay."

The Crimson Moon

3rd Person's P.o.v

Y/n is slowly walking on her way to Thor's room where he is currently healing from the wounds Lu bü delivered to him. Her thoughts then lingers back to what happened in the fight. 'what or who could have been the one to fight instead of him?' 'I know sacrifice is a must but what could have been?'.

She cost another life. Lu bü and his army. She cost them their lives. She knew how Lu bü's army can be. She hated it, she hates how she decided to ignore what just happened.

"It hurts so much doesn't it?" A voice interrupted her running thoughts.

She turned around and saw Jack walking towards her.

"What are you doing here?" Y/n asked him.

"When you passed by I can't help but I want to talk about the color you're emmiting. Sadness doesn't suit you" Jack only replied.

Y/n then frowns "You do know everyone and anyone can have emotions you know?"

"But not you-'' jack point a finger at y/n "you always emit a confidence,Joy and love especially whenever with 'Him'. But right now your emmiting a very negative emotion. You should know that he most likely wants you to look forward. Everyone's life is at stake and you should keep moving forward" Jack said.

'He is right' y/n can only thought, just like that she smiled to jack. "Thank you, Jack I appreciated that."

Inside can be seen Thor sitting on his bed checking the wounds Lu bü manage to give him. But upon hearing the door open he saw the Lady he wants to be with forever.

Y/n's P.o.v

The moment I laid my eyes upon him I knew he was thinking about Lu bü too.

"Are you alright now?" I ask him

I don't know why but whenever his eyes is on me I can't help for my heart beats intensely fast whenever I gaze into him yet I do not know if I'm only nervous because he can kill me on the spot or is it another? But I wouldn't know.

I turned to the side and I walk over to a seat nearby his bed and I sat down and kept my emotions in check as I gaze to his eyes.

"So... I suppose Lu Bü-san has left a mark on you? I don't mean the scars he gave" I said as I wait for his reply but then Thor tilted his head and look at me curiously.

"You know Lu bü?" Thor questioned as he look at me curiously and I smile softly and I towards the window.

"Yes... Lu bü and I met by chance he's such a difficult person to meet but he's a friend" I sighed and smiled as I remembered the memories I have with him. I look up to meet his gaze again before I smiled softly again "So shall we watch the next fight?"

Umeki found the front seat to the humanities side, to anyone, she must be looking around to look at the arena full of Gods and Human alike but no, Umeki can feel it even if the others are guarding outside of Bifröst or inside some demons must have sneaked out already or probably the fight has started outside. Turning her gaze she looks at Minato who approaches her and pats her back "Don't worry too much about your twin you know he can do it, it's not like we needed a völundr, we already are capable of" he spoke quietly while looking down at the arena, umeki couldn't help but get quiet and continued to watch the fight.

The fight has started after Zeus's introduction as he charges Akira first "I won't hold back brat" Zeus yelled before throwing the first punch that Akira, easily dodges. Akira just tilt his head and looking at Zeus with a deadpan look "huh?"

Zeus then throws another and Akira easily dodges it again...

Ahhhhh anon... I'm tempted to tell you to just eat pasta like the others but you know what I've actually been talking about this for the past hour with my dear friend Akira and here's the thing.

I stand by the fact that his first two seasons (due to reg change) in Ferrari will be the litmus test. Here's what I think can happen.

He gets to Ferrari, he does not feel better there and/or the car is not as competitive as he wants it to be and/or things don't get better, and that's that. Shit happens. Many such cases.

He gets to Ferrari, he feels good there, he gets his mojo back. If he can he'll fight for wins. If the car is really really competitive the question will realistically be can he still hold that rhythm through a year long title fight being older (because yes, he is getting older, it does seem to be taking a toll on him maybe not on track yet but as far as recuperating goes) and the seasons being longer and longer with sprint races on top of it? We can't possibly know at this point.

My question is either way, can he leave on a good note. Can he leave without another bitter rivalry (because whatever happens Ferrari will NOT make Charles a 2nd driver to him). Can he leave his head held high even if he doesn't win his 8th title which is a very real actually not implausible at all possibility. Is he ready to let it go and enjoy himself and focus on the bigger picture of how does he want to leave things not just on track but off track.

I want the end of his career to be beautiful. Like Seb's. I want it to be bittersweet and not just bitter. I want him to be happy with the way he left things rather than unsatisfied even if he never gets that fucking title.

And I think maybe that takes him AND US not seeing his 8th or his performance in general as the be all and end all goal rather than you know for example making sure the young ones have it better than he did, leaving in good terms with the people he likes, and with a good opinion of himself as a Person rather than as a Driver.

Ch 51: Hero

Teacher just assigned a group project and then left.

The chapter starts with a Fuuko flashback:

Fuuko's grandpa's hat! So that's where she got it! That's too sweet. She's lucky to have had such a thoughtful person to look after her once her abilities manifested. He shaped the way she thought about herself and how she dealt with trauma, too.

You-Me was with her even when she was all alone. It was there whether she was happy or sad, and it was full of people she could care about without worrying about hurting them.

Too relatable. Anno Un gave Fuuko a reason to keep fighting, and Fuuko had unknowingly given Akira a reason to keep fighting decades before. Writers sustain readers and readers sustain writers.

Rip calls Anno Un a man here, even in Japanese. It's the first time we've heard him gendered. Everything about him has been so ambiguous!

Speaking of ambiguity, we're beginning to see another side to Rip. Maybe he's just being curious, but it seems like he's acting a little more vulnerable around the others now.

Fuuko lists all the things Anno Un did for them even while he called them the "heroes."

Fuuko is right about those things being necessary to defeat Autumn, but they're all a smaller part of defeating God! Will Rip's team join the Union cause?

Andy's definitely a Teamster.

Anyway, the point is that despite the fact that Anno Un called them heroes, Rip doesn't want to play that part.

We see Rip, Latla, and Leila at some point in the past walking in a forest of maple trees. Rip has a doctor's coat and is smiling while pushing Leila's chair. Note the leaves on either side of Leila--one is upside down and the other right side up.

Leila is smiling back at him and wears a plaid scarf and at least one of the earrings current Rip wears. Latla has on what looks like a high-neck, ankle-length dress, which means she's either rich or goth, lol. Probably rich, judging from the way she currently dresses. I really love how she looks in that top panel. So soft!

Andy takes the lead and assigns roles for the group. He's already analyzed how to best use everyone's abilities and how to use them in a complementary way. Bunny agrees right away, but Rip and Latla balk at being told what to do.

Andy has the best one liners!

Autumn absorbs its Juniors to level up! And things get weirder. Phase 2 Autumn attacks Andy, and he almost gets crushed in a book. Meanwhile, Rip is remembering Leila.

This might be crazy, but we've had maple leaves appear a lot in this arc. Of course they're a symbol of Autumn, but look how the one in the last panel of Leila resembles the Under symbol Latla wears in her hair!

Also, the Under symbol is the kanji for "Un-" 不 turned upside down. Doesn't it kind of resemble a maple leaf? It's so perfect for this scene!

So that's why Rip was so shocked when Anno Un called him a hero! Does he attack out of anger, or out of newfound commitment to being a hero??? (Also, Andy's face)

Such a cool spread! A rare sly smile from Latla, too! Her reverse-prediction restored everyone's spirit. And we finally get to see the broom-cycle up close! I wonder how they acquired it.

Looking back through this chapter, there are so many new facial expressions from Rip. There's a side of him that he doesn't show--we as readers see it, but Latla is the only other person who really knows him. He's cultivated this image of someone who can drop others in a heartbeat, but that's only because of someone he can't forget.

Second half of chapter 30, picking up where we left off, Carol had started crying because she wants to see her father again. Akira wonders for a moment if that was how Hibiki was after he left

He then points out you can't think of anything good when you're hungry, so eat before it gets worse. Hibiki agrees, saying she wants to make fun memories with Carol so she won't have to be sad.

Meanwhile, Elfnein and the Autoscorers go to Carol's apartment to look into what happened. They find the direct feedback system there, which apparently Carol had recreated after seeing it in SONG before. They discover a tripped breaker and realize almost immediately what happened during that storm.

The next day, Carol is back to normal with her memories intact and Elfnein explains that Carol's version of the device didn't create a virtual version of the brain but rather interacted directly with the brain itself, so the lightning strike caused...well, all that.

Carol had wanted to find forgotten birthday memories of her and her father...to share with Elfnein as thanks for celebrating her birthday with her, but she couldn't find them

But they still have a mountain of salmon to deal with thanks to Carol getting scared the previous day.

Hibiki: "For times like this, we have Shirabe-chan!"

Poor girl just got volunteered.

She decides to make salmon (with spinach and cream cheese) wrapped in a pie crust.

Upon eating it, Carol and Elfnein both remember a birthday when Isaak came home with a fish but neither he nor Carol knew how to prepare it.

However he would never hurt you. If he is hungry or if it's Blood Moon he will stay as far away from you as possible. He couldn't never forgive himself if he hurt you.

The Thieves made a pact to never Touch each other's S/O. Wich means you can chill with everyone in the room even if Akira is not there. All Thieves will protect you.

Yusuke Kitagawa: a strong and dangerous Ghoule. He eats basically everything.

Do not talk to him wenn he is eating. Ghoule's don't like this. And Yusuke is no exception. However his reason is to not traumatize you. After all he literally heat Humen Organs.

He would never hurt you. Even if he has the urge to bite you and eat you alive. But he will just leave and get something to eat.

However if you are a dark fantersy being yourself he will help you hunt prey

Akechi is a fallen Angel. His black angel wings and his bloody red Hailo glow in the moonlight. Both part are hidebly. If you didn't know better you couldn't think he is a humen.

If you are a dark being he will go hunting with you, cover your tracks and shears his meals with you.

Akechi still is a detective. He covers the murders that the Phantomthieves do. He is loyal to them. The thieves safe't his life. He is greatfull to them.

Its feathers are soft yet sharp. He lets you touch them, but he makes sure you don't hurt yourself.

He can take of his Hailo aswell. So if you want to wear it he will put it on your head. He can't take it. You are just to cute.

Hi, I've been reading Throw Away Your Mask for some time now and I just wanted to leave a message here cuz your writing is so inspired, I'm loving the journey Goro is going through and the characters feel so alive and organic, I read the most recent chapter this morning and I still can't get the scene with not-Akira out of my mind, it's such a powerful moment that I think became one of my favorite scenes of this fanfic, alongside others like Goro meeting his shadows in the TV world, or Shinjiro's rank 10 event, or the Emiko rescue!! Or every scene with Monster Cat god i love that kitty, and although I am a little sad that we're reaching the end of the story, I'm really happy I got to read this amazing fanfic, and I'm really excited for the next chapters to come, so thank you for creating Throw Away Your Mask!!! This manga is about a sole koto club member who has to put together a crew of koto players to make sure the koto club does not get disbanded, starting with a delinquent and a musical genius. As time passes, other unique members enter the club for different reasons but in the end, they all have the same goal, to enter the koto nationals competition.

What I like most about this manga is the art style. The art was so beautiful that I could feel a lot of emotion while I read it, such as anger, happiness, and even sadness. The other reason for my linking to this manga has to be how the story was told and how each character felt like a real person rather than just a character from a book. For example, one of the teachers, Akira Dojima is introduced at first as someone who was ordered to ruin the koto club, but as the story progresses and as she gets to know the koto club members, she can't help but care about them and wants to help them achieve their goal.

This manga greatly impacted me when I first read it when I was 15 years old. The characters with the biggest impact on me are Kudou Chika and Sei Uzuki. Kudou Chika, the main character of this manga, is initially seen as harsh and has a strong personality, but as the story progresses, he is shown as someone who is kind at heart but bad at communication and has a tough past. Chika who was raised by a single father who was absent throughout his life was given love by his grandfather and was supported by his best friend in his early days, but it changed once his grandfather passed away, and he was blamed for his grandfather's death. Chika taught me that to grow I have to face my past properly and accept them, not so I have to suffer every day remembering them, but to learn from them and understand them. The next character is Sei Uzuki, who is one of the causes of Chika's suffering. He makes a lot of mistakes and even makes Chika suffer for a reason where he wants Chika to go back to his old self. He has a past where he has no one to depend on leaving him in a state where don't have emotion, tho his past can't make up for the mistake he made, I can't help but root for him to make a change. He teaches me that just because you make a mistake in the past, doesn't mean you have to keep being stuck in a loop and continue them, if you want, you can try to atone for them.

This manga is still ongoing as of right now. the update is once a month, so the reader's patience is really being tested. I rate this manga 10/10.

1. What made you ship it?: oh boy, the first and second chapters of the !! Main Story made me become so obsessed with them it wasn't even normal. I went into ensemble stars without any idea or notion about the franchise or the writing beforehand and I was absolutely confused with the way the characters talked to each other (the enstars writing is definitely an acquired taste imo lmao). So you must imagine how insane I felt when I, who wasn't used to male characters having such blatant, shameless and obviously deliberately flirty/romantic/shippy intended dialogue with each other such as.... This:

This was!!!! On their first meeting!!! They have known each other for less than 5 minutes and Aira has already fondled Hiiro's bicep!!!! Are these two normal??? (If you've been into enstars long enough you'll know that the answer is !!! No !!!)

And what's funnier is that after Aira does the (rub, rub), the next dialogue is literally this:

so like.... Akira (writer of all of the !! Main story) here had to force a switch on the conversation so these two could focus again on the topic they were discussing before (about whether or not they're underachievers and about Ensemble Square) from that fondling muscles scene. This means Akira didn't have any need to write that scene between these two, it wasn't necessary for the plot. The madlad just added that scene in there out of nowhere. Just for the funsies. For a silly little laugh. Because there's nothing more fun than making your OCs flirt with each other this shamelessly in your own story. He really gets the assignment.

Listing a few honorable mentions for hiiai interactions from the first and second episodes of the !! MS that made me imprint on them so hard that they became my biggest otp since july of last year and has taken hold of my heart ever since 🫶

Hiiro fawning over Aira's beautiful name 🥺🥺🥺

Hiiro here was really like yeah you're my soulmate, my soulmate bestie (no but seriously do you ever think about how hiiro became so attached to aira so quickly and wanted to become his friend so bad, and how he also saw their meeting as fate....)

He is so dramatic, he didn't even get directly rejected here

This is a personal favorite. I can't stress how mentally ill I was when I read Hiiro saying "I'll do my best to destroy the future where you'll feel sad" DO YOU HEAR YOURSELF???? this should be added to the "is this Russian literature or enstars" online quiz

If you are observant enough you'll see that Hiiro is the one shamelessly flirting all the time AHDJF but Aira himself (mostly in later chapters) also says some questionable stuff about Hiiro in some parts that makes you go... Huh (Aira saying to Hiiro "Aira-kun's route is no longer available for you!" Aira why are you equating yourself and Hiiro as the protagonist and romantic interest of a dating sim game? Do you have anything to share with the class?)

But yeah... them (vaguely gestures with hand). They give a very strong first impression to say the least, so it's not hard to imagine how I came to ship them as quickly and as strongly as I did ahdjf

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?: God, there's so many things I like about hiiai I don't think I can ever list them or rank them, but I'll try ahdjf

For starters, I just really like their dynamic (very basic answer, I know). A thing I really love about their dynamic is how Hiiro is so openly affectionate with Aira, and I think it's cute how Aira is so tsun about his care and affection for hiro-kun, but he just can't leave him alone and thinks of him so often (he mentions him all the time in the game's home lines wwww).

Another thing I love is the way their relationship develops throughout the !! main story. How Aira stuck to him and to Alkaloid due to obligation (in order to survive as an idol in ES) but actually became attached to Hiiro and formed the unique dynamic with him where Aira feels like he can't leave Hiiro alone to prevent him from getting into trouble (and while there is truth to that, there's also the fact that just genuinely Aira loves Hiiro because the first friend he's had in a long time, and a very loyal and loving one at that). In Hiiro's case, he also got attached to Aira very quickly since he was also his very first friend on the city 🥺

In general, I love that hiiai are each other's first friends in ES when they were completely alone, and that by finding each other they found the solution to their chronic loneliness (because Aira and Hiiro both suffer a lot from severe loneliness ever since their childhoods. Aira has never been able to keep lasting friendships and Hiiro's only company in his hometown was Rinne. So them finding each other and hitting it off so quickly and easily means a lot for the both of them, and they both try their best to make the friendship work because they want to keep it and make it last, yk?)

Another facet of hiiai that I like... how Aira always teaches Hiiro new things and helps him understand the world around him. I like to think about how Aira is, literally and metaphorically, the reason Hiiro loves the city, and how that is what leads him to stay there instead of going back to his hometown with his brother (and I just sit here and wonder if the rinniki parallels were intentional from Akira's part?)

I mean literally because Aira is the one who taught Hiiro what idols are, and that was what made Hiiro realize that yes, this is something he likes and a thing he wants to do with his life. And metaphorically, because I believe that for Hiiro, Aira is a representation of the city. Aira is a city boy, he has an upbringing and worldview completely different from his. Aira grew up in a world that is completely unknown and new to Hiiro, a world in which Hiiro didn't plan on staying for long in the first place, a world that Hiiro didn't plan on getting attached to, but that he still came to like at the end — so Hiiro, by loving and accepting Aira, is metaphorically loving and embracing the city and coming to understand it*. And we know that Hiiro deciding to stay in the city and becoming an idol for real is one of the most important parts of his arc of independence and self discovery, so this gives Hiiro's relationship with Aira another layer of depth that makes their bond more important and essential for each of their characters and arcs.

*I almost forgot to clarify why I think that Hiiro coming to like the city is such a big deal (and note, this is a personal interpretation). Basically, because Hiiro was so dead set on bringing his brother back to their hometown so he could become the monarch, he was still close minded about the outside world and stuck with the old arbitrary rules taught by his hometown. But just as Rinne predicted and hoped, Hiiro ended up being marveled by the city and all the things it offers and so many things he's never seen before (and you can extrapolate that marvel he feels for the city as the marvel and interest he feels for Aira when they first meet). So just as Rinne left his hometown in favor of the city—which was a thing Hiiro didn't understand before because he didn't know what even made the city so good in the first place to make his brother want to leave—Hiiro ended up liking the city as well and choosing to stay there instead of going back home, therefore chosing his own path like Rinne.

But then again, this is just my personal interpretation of the text ahdjf

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?: I probably do, but I can't really think of one at the moment ahdjfj I guess one unpopular opinion is that I think that Aira isn't as stereotypically tsundere as people tend to depict him as in fanworks.

Don't get me wrong, Aira def is very tsun (and he is deliberately written as a stereotypical tsundere sometimes for the comedy bits and/or to make his feelings about others obvious. It might seem paradoxical, but the more tsun the acts—the biggest reaction he gets out of one of Hiiro's actions, for example—the more obvious his true feelings come across), but I also think it is often overlooked his character development in the !! MS where he grows to become more honest about his feelings and doesn't reject Hiiro's displays of affection as much and is even openly happy about them (like when he was happy that Hiiro held his hand and said it made him feel reassured). But this characterization isn't the most consistent throughout stories (and that is a thing that bothers me a little but talking about enstars' lore inconsistency is a story for another day ahdjf), so this is something very personal 😅

Even after I returned to my room, the air still seemed to carry the afterglow of the Requiem Soiree. It was festive, yet slightly sad.

I somehow felt uneasy, and sleepiness didn't come right away. I sat down at my desk and wrote about today's events in the Sages Book.

Akira: ...I think I've written down everything I wanted to write. It's getting late, so I should probably go to bed soon...

Akira: What? At this late time... Who is it?

Arthur: I apologize for interrupting your sleep, Master Sage.

Akira: Arthur. What's wrong?

Arthur: You see... I can't find Faust or Lennox anywhere.

Akira:.....Eh?

The voice from the other side of the door was tense. I felt goosebumps on my skin and hurriedly opened the door.

All the wizards were there, except for Faust, Lennox, and Bradley.

Arthur: Earlier, I was casually looking out the window when I saw a figure leaving the inn.

Arthur: The villagers have also been asked to refrain from going out at night. I looked closely and noticed that they were wearing familiar clothing.

Amidst all of this, Rustica suddenly blurts out a voice. Everyone's eyes are on him, as his voice exudes a hint of impatience.

Akira: Rustica...? Did you figure something out?

Rustica: Yes, a little... Yesterday, when we arrived in this village, we were investigating the damage caused by the strange phenomenon with Faust and Lennox, right?

Rustica: The presence that remained at the scene where the livestock were attacked was the same as the gloves that we played with that night.

Rustica: But the ominous feeling wasn't strong yet. I thought that if we performed the ritual now, we could calm her spirit...

Rustica stopped speaking and looked out the window. His neatly trimmed eyebrows slightly twisted, he was trying to gauge something.

Rustica: Perhaps Faust was anticipating the possibility that this would not happen.

Rustica: The spirits have been buzzing for a while now, and the sense of unease has only grown stronger.

Arthur: ...I felt it too. If this is the presence of the soul of a gentle maiden, then it feels a bit strange.

Cain: ...So you mean maybe her summoned soul has been transformed.

Riquet: Transformed... Why? Could it be that the regrets and grudges that Faust spoke of still remain strong in her?

Rutile: But... it's certain that she loved the villagers, and that they loved her.

The closer I got to the sound of the bells, the more I felt like a strange "something" was waiting with its mouth open, and my skin started to tingle.

Cain: The sound of the bells is getting louder... They're close.

Arthur: Are you all feeling okay?

Riquet: Yes, nothing in particular at the moment.

Rutile: We did forget to ask what would exactly happen if we break the taboo.

Akira: That's right... it would be best if nothing happened...

At that moment, something whispered in my ear.

???: Come... here… dance

Akira: ……?

Akira: (What is this...? I hear someone's voice. like they're calling me...)

Rustica: Master Sage.

Rustica's soft voice reached me, interrupting me. His hand gently touched my ear covering it.

I suddenly noticed that the wizards around me were also looking around suspiciously.

Rutile: A young woman's voice...?

Riquet: I heard it too. It sounded happy, but somehow lonely...

As we continued on, the view finally opened up.

We were in the middle of the forest, where flowers were blooming everywhere, with stone monuments lined up in between.

Akira: It's a cemetery...

In the center, there were two familiar backs.

Faust: you guys...!

In the dim light, lit only by moonlight... Faust and Lennox turned around and saw a huge, white "something" wriggling in front of them.

Akira: What is that...?!

Rutile: It's big… It's much taller than the trees!

Cain: Master Sage, behind me! I can see it too. It's clearly a strange presence.

In the dark forest, a pure white "something" sways back and forth like a ghost.

Illuminated by the moonlight, basking in the night breeze, its dancing form is like a white giant.

Lennox: They've already followed us... They were faster than I thought.

Faust: Ah... why did you come here? I told you never to go outside!

At that moment, the trees in the forest and the flowers in the area rippled. The white giant raised its long arms and started to stir up the wind.

Following Cain, the other wizards also chanted spells. Rustica looked up into the thin air, inside the layered dome of light.

When we all followed his gaze, we saw a giant wearing white gloves trembling.

The wind roared and the rustling of the trees shook our eardrums. I felt my body getting cold all the way down to my feet.

The white giant before me shook especially violently, then grew even larger and changed shape.

An elegant figure made from many layers of white cloth…

Under the moonlight, it looks especially pale, like a blue dress fluttering at a ball.

Akira: Gloves and a blue dress...

Faust: ...Her feelings have finally taken shape.

Lennox: Yes. It may seem harsh, but there is only one thing we can do.

Lennox: To stop the damage from spreading any further in this village she loved.

Faust: Yeah. 《Satillquinart Mullcreed》

Lennox: 《Forsettao Meiuvat》

Faust and Lennox's magic circle caught the giant dress. The dress trembled, and one sleeve split off.

Some of the gloves flew into the night sky, melting into the air and disappearing. However, the ones that kept their shape returned to the giant dress.

Arthur: That dress, could it be…?

Riquet: the one that was made for the deceased maiden to wear to her engagement party...?

A huge dress with no maiden to wear it. More gloves gather around it. The dress swallows the gloves and becomes even larger.

A faint sadness spreads in Rustica's eyes as he stares at the distorted dress.

4: Say something nice about a ship you don't ship

Keito's possessiveness over Kuro is so incredibly funny to me (positive). I want to put him under a microscope I wish I had the time to read his stories.

Actually whatever Keito has with Eichi is incredibly funny too, the line where Keito says "first Eichi finds another friend and now you (Kuro) too?!??" lives rent free in my head even though it's been like two years since I read (I think) Shinsengumi. I also love how bratty Eichi is around Keito. It's so funny and endearing and he sounds like such a pain in the ass but I'm not the one dealing with him so it's just funny and cute instead. RIP Keito but also Keito also clearly cares so much about Eichi and can't quite leave him alone despite everything he says, theyre so ghnggg.

Anyway back to KuroKei the fact that Keito keeps showing Kuro various manga when Kuro isn't really that interested is super cute too. Whatever I've learned through osmosis feels like some nebulous zone between crazy obsession and wholesomeness. Maybe both. Love that. Every time I learn something new about them I like them even more, they sound incredibly entertaining.

5: Something you see in fics a lot and love

Ritsu skinship!!! Ritsu flopping over people he loves!! Ritsu cuddles!! Ritsu skinship is an incredibly important part of his characterisation to me because we have the same love language and idk, it never really gets portrayed very often. Like there are normal hugs when people feel sad or as a greeting and then there's whatever me and Ritsu prefer (always physically attached to someone else like a limpet). This isn't a fanfic-exclusive thing because it comes from canon, but I always love to see it being described as opposed to hearing about it in dialogue-form only in canon.

Writing style wise it'll be characters being introspective and their thoughts being part of the narration. Some fics just go "X did this, then Y did this, and Z did that" but like if I wanted action only I'd go read a manga. I love knowing what the characters are thinking, bonus points if it's in their character voices too. I think weaving a character thoughts into the narration is harder to do in comic formats, which is the other medium I usually consume, because there's only so many thought bubbles you can fit on a page. I like it when characters monologue and get stuck in their heads basically.

Also characters' internal dialogues somehow flow better in fanfic than enstars canon, for some reason. I dunno if it's a language gap or something to do with the dialogue boxes preventing proper paragraphing. Or maybe Akira just likes to insert too many philosophical ideas or literature references that I don't get. Like I can take Ritsu spiralling in fanfic anyday, I eat that shit up, but I never managed to read Shu's Human Comedy monologue about human nature in full.

Thank you HappyEle and Akira, the fine event made me feel so many things. I'm looking forward to be able to read it thoroughly and think about it more. But for now:

I loved that Tori was even more adamant about the other fine members not to treat him like he's a fragile being who can't hear unpleasant things because it makes him feel like they leave him out. This isn't the first time (look at Primavera for example), but he was really upset this time. But it fueled him to show them. And I loved how he said to Wataru that he wants to be like them because loves them (fine). They've come so far from Flower Fes. <3

And Wataru, oh Wataru. I feel really sad that people turned their backs on him even on theater course. He really was alone and drifting before the War. And then, his thoughts on negative emotions... It's okay to focus on positive things but man, he's bottling them up too much. Stop with the toxic positivity! Let yourself feel them, Wataru. He also wanted to be help Tori grow and even though he ended up adding to Tori's hardship in a way he didn't mean to, it was fine in the end. And it made him face some of those negative emotions but Tori told him he'll be there to listen. Yes, Wataru, Tori and the rest of fine will support you too! I will probably have more thoughts when I read the whole thing. But just... waaah, there were quite many sad things. Wataru, I hope you'll be okay, trust your friends. <3

I also was thinking how this is a second recent event where people tell someone to be NOT like Eichi. Natsume in Altered and Tori in this story. And yeah, it's a solid advice, we don't need Natsume to repeat War or Tori being as willing to throw people under bus for the sake of efficiency (and it's good for him to realize Eichi is also just a flawed human like all of them). But how Eichi said again that he dislikes himself... that made me sad. How everyone, himself included, often focus on his mistakes etc. I know it's hard, but try to love yourself a little more, Eichi. <3

Yuzuru... He had very much a supporting role here but I hope he'll soon get a really good story. They hinted about his family a few times, maybe a story relating to that? He also provided Yuzuru funnies with being a little murderous, haha. Yuzuru is the steady presence they need. Give Yuzuru more love. <3

And all the little fun and sweet things, Wataru eating with Yuzuru and Tori, Eichi writing messages and emails like an old man, Yuzuru eating seafood flavoured ice cream, Eichi assuring Wataru there's nothing besides friendship between him and Amano, Tori and Shinobu talk... and probably more that were not mentioned yet. The first part sure made me, and many others, nervous but part two gave context and wonderful things, even if some of them were sad. Sometimes life is sad. But they have each other, they tell that to each other again and again, so guys, please remember that.
