A long-winded looking back on things below the cut:

The first few pages of Infested were uploaded to this blog on March 2nd, 2023 -- Over a whole year ago! I was so busy, too, that I completely missed its birthday (Sorry Infested). Looking even further back than that, the original story was was something I began writing on December 25th, 2022 (Merry Christmas).

It took two years to get to this point.

And hey, not to toot my own horn about it, but completing even one chapter of a webcomic is a big deal. Especially for me. My first webcomic, Fight/Flight, didn't get very far. I completed the prologue, started Chapter 1, and then had to drop it for a number of reasons (I didn't really agree with what baby-me had to say, politically, anymore).

This comic was born from a lot of intense feelings. The story, itself, too. Some good. Some bad.

I had been forced to move away from my hometown, and with that move, I lost the physical connection that I had to all of my friends. I lost the familiarity of a place I'd known for most of my life. I'm now stuck somewhere... Worse. It felt like a cage. Still does. Disconnected from the life I thought I would be living after college. I didn't have health insurance, either -- Got kicked off of it because of the move -- And as a result, I was off my antidepressants.

So there I was, at a pretty low point in my life. I miserable and lonely and every single day dragged on. And on. And on. And I felt so disappointed in myself. That disappointment became self-loathing, and it all kinda spiraled.

Have I mentioned that I'm a huge Sonic fan? I don't think I need to. I'd say it's pretty obvious. But for the sake of this story, I'll say it again: I'm a HUGE Sonic fan. I've been that way since 2003 with Sonic Heroes. The franchise has been in my life for over two decades. I had a monthly mail subscription to Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog. Sonic the Hedgehog was something that I truly loved more than any other piece of media. It brought me endless joy. Until I didn't.

I had dropped Sonic after Lost World was... Itself. I had already felt pretty irritated with the Meta Era, and Lost World was the final straw. The last bit of hope that the series could recover was snuffed out when Forces was released. It was over. I was done. If Sonic was truly that embarrassed by itself, if they had truly lost touch with what made the series so great, then I wouldn't waste my time any longer. I was so sure that I had to just... Grieve and move on. My beloved childhood game series was dead. Long live the king or whatever. I'd just bitterly read IDW Sonic and think about what could've been. I was lucky to have that comic, at least. Archie had been canceled, too, after all. I was lucky to have my scraps.

Then Sonic Frontiers came out. And it changed everything.

And my god, it was everything. It was everything to me. Flaws be damned, it was everything. To. Me. The spectacle. The serious tone. The vastly improved writing. Kellin Fucking Quinn. It was FUN! It was actually FUN to PLAY. He was back. I was back. Sonic pulled me by my hand out of the ocean of misery I'd fallen into, and he looked me in my eye and he said;

"Hey. You're gonna be alright."

Metaphorically speaking. Sonic The Hedgehog didn't actually literally speak to me -- And sure, okay, maybe it's a little dramatic to describe a game as this great Depression Annihilator but I'm dead serious when I say that, for that time, before I was able to get back on my meds, I was self-medicating with Sonic.

Sonic was all I was thinking about. I reread the Unleashed arc in Archie Sonic, which got me sorta realizing something, and which led to my post where I said something along the lines of "Sonic would hide a zombie bite."

Archie Sonic would, at least. Because he basically did do that in the Unleashed arc of that comic. He let that problem fester until it became an even bigger problem because, ironically, he didn't want to be a problem.

So one thing led to another. I thought more about Sonic becoming a zombie. Bada-bing, bada-boom, Infested was born.

I didn't expect it to get the attention that it did. I felt lucky when the first page I drew Rouge on (Page 6 I think?) blew up. The right people saw it at the right time. I'm extremely grateful for that.

I'm extremely grateful for all of you.

Week 4

Hey all you good girls, silly sluts, and sluts in theory but not in practice. This is the fourth and final week of this round of the edging instructions! It's my hope that this series of instructions can be used by anyone anytime, in sequence or out of sequence, as something fun to do that also provides you the direction and instruction that you so desperately need. Monday: One hour of edging. An hour on Monday? Yes. Use a toy for this. As the times increase, it may be more difficult to just do it with your hand, so use toys liberally for these. Plus, toys are just fun. Bonus points if you share which toy or toys you really like to use.

Tuesday: 90 minutes of edging. Your tits should always be out when you play, but they should especially be out on this, the holy holiday of Titty Tuesday. Always observe the holiday!

Wednesday: 90 minutes. Do some of this in a position other than on your back. Bonus points if the position lets you make a mess with how excited you are. It's one thing to know you're a drippy mess because you're following directions. It's another thing to see it confirmed.

Thursday: 90 minutes. It's almost Friday. No one gets any work done on Friday anyways. Do this late at night, before you have to wake up for work or school on Friday.

Friday: One hour in the morning, one hour at night. If you can't do it just like that, as always, do what you can. The edging should be making it hard to think, but really it's making it harder to worry about all the boring dumb stuff you worry about. I'm doing you a favor by overwriting your brain with desperate arousal. You should thank me.

Saturday: Unlimited. You probably ache so much anyways your hand was already subconsciously making its way down into your panties to play. Play all day. Hydrate, drink water, and just get playing. Who's a little drippy fuck doll? It's you.

Hi, I'd like to ask how fans in Japan have reacted to the movie cancellation and if you have any theories about the reasons behind the decision. I saw fans speculating that it was cancelled because of geopolitics (main character is Russian -> war, doping, anti-lgbtq laws etc.) and I think that would be really tone-deaf. A mostly finished movie doesn't get shelved without very good reasons.

Yeah, that's right! Most people assume it's because of politics. It would make sense if IceAdo problems haven't started loong before the War. Japanese fandom is very hostile to any controversies (as an example, YoI still has the reputation of being 'copyright infringement anime', because of background of that one scene that was aired almost 10 years ago), so the idea of anime that may be interpreted as praising the country, that attacked another country and in addition to that, their skaters are cheaters and were banned from competitions is just not something that sits well with a lot of otakus. Not even necessarily because they are so noble etc., but because it means that their beloved anime is an easy target for (difficult to dispute) hate from antis.

The movie, however, I'm 99% sure, was cancelled because of money. Not because of MAPPA, of course, they don't have the rights to cancel it - Otsuka CEO was whining about not having enough power in production committees in relatively recent interviews (funny how he even mentioned specifically YoI's situation, isn't it? here). The rights to YoI are owned by Avex Pictures, it's their trademark.

It's really very simple - in January of 2019, the teaser was released in Jp cinemas together with the TV series split into 3 parts. Even though they had merch with new illustration as a free gift for every person that bought the ticket, most screening were like 90% empty. VicYuu fujos celebrated that the teaser without their uke, Yuuri, flopped and feminine Victor movie will likely flop now (I'm not going to post a link to their online archive because it's cursed, but it's easy to find) - I mean literally, they celebrated. After the teaser, the production committee just stopped caring about the IP. It's possible that after that they still tired behind the scene to make it work somehow, but I've also seen rumors recently that Sayo run away from the production (with a nuance of 'she had enough and just disappeared on them').

Here you can read a Jp anime journalist's analysis of the possible reasons behind cancelling of shows like YoI, and he also points out that it's mainly just about saying goodbye to unprofitable IPs.

but i wanted to talk a bit about the criticism leveled against criticism that any criticism of the show will affect whether or not we get a second season.

bc like. if percy jackson doesn't get renewed, i feel like the current fanbase is liable to turn on good faith criticism and blame that as the reason.

some facts, first: the show has become the 3rd most watched streaming original series. it debuted at 4th. the viewership numbers, if anything, are going up. (thank you variety for the useful article) this is due to good marketing and the decision of the producers or disney to air the show weekly, episode by episode.

from what i've seen, criticism has been in the minority of posts. criticism of the pjo show is not the thing that gets tens of thousands of likes or reblogs (keeping in mind that i'm mostly on tumblr goodbye to twitter that hellsite) this show has been widely praised, widely defended, and widely discussed.

i think, especially because this fanbase has been burned before, and because of the recent cancellations of adaptations, there's a lot of paranoia (perhaps justified) going around about cancellation in general. and i understand that. this has been a widely anticipated series, a widely beloved set of books. i would hate for this show to be cancelled.

but. but but but.

cancellation is a decision that is made by the company. and i'd urge people to not forget that. the enemy here (in regards to cancellation but also just in general) is disney, is the company. cancelling the show would be a financial and business decision. i highly highly doubt that any criticism on social media (at least in regards to the pjo show) would become big enough to become a deciding factor in this decision.

and if it were? i would still ask why you would blame good faith criticism. anyone whose "criticism" is clearly poorly veiled racism can rot in hades, by the way. but if it is good faith criticism that cancels the show, that means that there would have been enough people who were dissatisfied that people up top took notice and agreed. and if that were the case, why be mad at the people who gave that criticism? if that were the case, why not be critical of the writing or the directing of a show that people were clearly dissatisfied with? why not ask better from the show producers?

ig all this to say that i'd really really warn against advocating for censorship in the hope that it might incrementally change a decision that is ultimately not open or transparent to the public. most of the criticism that i've seen has been by fans, has been by people who would love to love the show. and if you don't want to see that, by all means block or mute or do whatever you need to do. but don't blame them. don't tell them to shut up because you are afraid.

You glanced at your phone and sighed when you saw it was now 7:30 and your date wasn't there. 30 minutes late and not one message to you saying that they were cancelling or at least letting you know that they were running late. Honestly, you were beginning to lose hope. However, when you turned around to see a guy looking a bit sad after getting off the phone, you felt bad. Had he gone through the same thing you were?

It was kind of unfortunate really. I mean, he was handsome. Not to mention that he looked good in black, but that was beside the point. You saw he had a heart shape box with him, and you quickly knew it was chocolate. The waiter walked over to him, and you quickly decided that there was no way you were going to waste this night and let him be sad.

He looked too good to be sad anyway.

So, you did what you thought was right and quickly ran up to the table and sat down across from him. The look of shock on his face was hard to miss and you let out a breath. "Sorry I'm late! I typed the wrong address and from rushing to get here, I forgot to let you know." The waiter smiled at you while the man in front of you was frozen. "Did you order yet?" He shook his head and you smiled. "Great! Can I get a glass of red please?" The waiter nodded and looked over that the man. "And for you sir?" He nodded and looked up at the waiter. "Y-yeah, I'll take the same. Thank you." The waiter left while scribbling the drinks down on his notepad. Once he was far, you looked over at the man, his dark brown eyes meeting yours.

"Sorry if I scared you, sir. I thought it was best if I joined you." He shook his head. "No worries. I saw you waiting and I thought it was for someone. D-Did you get stood up?" You look down at menu the man had and sighed. "Unfortunately. I don't understand why people do that, y'know? Did you get stood up too or did they have the decency to reschedule?" You scanned the menu before deciding what you wanted before passing it back to him. He took it and embarrassment was written on his face. "I got the days mixed up. Thought today was Friday when it's actually Sunday."

"Yeah, it happens. Especially when time goes by quickly, you lose track of days, right?" Something was written on his face as the waiter came back with the wine before putting it down and asking if you were ready to order. You and the stranger placed your orders and he walked away. "You could say that. Sorry, I'm Steven...with a v." You raised your brow with a small smile as you looked at him. "Nice to meet you Steven with a v. I'm (Y/N)." His embarrassment quickly faded, and a small smile crept on his face. "This date of yours, did he bail because he was nervous?" You shrugged. "I wouldn't know. Tried contacting them and they never responded, so I gave up and came to your table."

"Out of pity?" You took a sip of your wine. "Honestly? Maybe a bit, but I figured I would take my chances. You seemed decent enough to talk to." He chuckled. "Thank you...I think?" You smiled. You found out he was an Egyptian mythology buff and you thought it was cute. He told you about how he wanted to be a tour guide for the museum he worked at, but his boss was, and you'd quote "a complete twat" which made you snort. You told him about your career and your different interests as well, causing him to look at you with so much focus that you honestly became nervous.

However, as quickly as this whole thing started, it came to an end; he paid and you gave the tip since he refused to split the bill, insisting that you did so much for him, the least he could've done was pay for your food as well. As you both began to leave, you traded numbers, agreeing to hang out again soon. He then looked at the chocolate box that was now under his arm and turned to you. "Do you like chocolate?" You were shocked by his response and nodded. He handed you the box of chocolates with a smile. "There you go, love. Enjoy, yeah? You did a lot for me today and it was great. Thank you."

"You're welcome, Steven. Do you need a ride?" He hesitated for a second before nodding. "Yeah, alright." With that, you gave him your phone so he could put his address in it and got into your car. Yandere Boy was a character on my channel who existed in 2020 between September and November. He was my first experimentation with having multiple episodes for one character, but I didn't like how it was progressing and subsequently cancelled his story. As there were people who wondered where he went, I decided to retcon him into Xanthus' storyline as being the person who stalked Love. And then, Xanthus killed him which meant a firm end to Yandere Boy and his story.

Asirel also existed on my channel in 2020, with one episode in July and the other in November. However, due to the story I was creating for him and his Listener, I decided to take him off the channel until I could find a suitable way to bring him back. Before December 2023, he solely existed on Patreon, but does make an appearance in Isaac's story (by name and voice):

Trickery Post #0 - Introduction

Hello world.

I'm Cathy.

This series of posts I'm going to do was originally planned as a YouTube series, but for various reasons, that idea has not worked out.

I watched Good Omens season 1 and season 2 roughly in late October 2023. While I left the season 2 ending unsatisfied, I still managed to become quite obsessed with David Tennant as Crowley.

I love his portrayal of Crowley so much.

And, through this obsession, I found these very interesting-to-me and very silly puzzle games that exist in Good Omens 2. These games give me a way to keep the obsession going and busy.

This series is going to be about me playing those games, especially the earlier stages.

So, here are a few things I think you might want to consider before you decide if it's worth the trouble of reading these posts.

There are multiple reasons I'm doing this series but a really big one is the situation with season 3. Due to the allegations against Neil Gaiman, season 3 was changed from planned as a six-episode series into a 90-minute movie. I was very upset to learn that news myself because I was really looking forward to season 3 as 6 episodes.

Now a part of me is thinking that's why I should let go of this idea. The games can be null and void. They can be cancelled in this process. They can be retconned out of existence since they are hidden games to begin with. They can be undone. Another part of me is, "Actually, that's all the more reason to do it."

That is to say, the games could very easily be lost and left without being found beyond what work I've already put into them and posted already here on Tumblr.

So, that's something, right? I can just leave those Tumblr posts intact, and the work is there, even if season 3 leaves whatever was originally intended for the games behind. They're already here.

That's all true.

But...in the process of how I've found it is best for me to do things on Tumblr, something ends up lost in the progression of my play. I have found it best to just post some thoughts and ideas, think on them, and then a lot of times, go back and edit those posts to something I hope is more coherent and presentable for my overall point. By doing that, the actual sense of play is lost in translation because the mistakes and realizations as they happen are not left intact.

So, this series is a way for me to commemorate that play because it meant a lot to me as it happened.

I want to store these memories sooner, rather than later, before time helps them slip away from me that much more quickly. I think YouTube would have been more suited to do such a thing, but the work involved is more than I can give at this time in my life.

I am not making season 3 predictions. Conclusions I made are now all the more available to be ignored in season 3 for the sake of simplifying the story or just making it new and different from what it was going to be anyway.

All of that is to say that, I'm making this series for me, even if I'm inviting you into see what it meant to me in these posts.

So, if you don't like the series or feel like it has nothing of any value to you, please move onto other things as soon as you realize that's how you feel about the posts.

Even though this series is focused on my own personal experience, I will be talking frequently in the second person or as "we" and "us" because I like describing the play as a shared experience. It's more fun for me that way.

We are going to be playing a long game. These puzzles took months to find and solve.

Don't expect to get things right away. If that happens, great. If it doesn't, please keep in mind that many solutions I found took time to sink in as I found them.

Alright, so I'm going to talk about me because even I forget that I had these parts of my life leading into how I am able to play the games the way that I do. Based on general observation, no one else seems able to play quite like I do because I have a knack for finding certain important names, phrases, and ideas.

I am not someone who has ever worked on a movie or TV show or any entertainment field really as a professional. It's something I used to want to do, especially as an actress. I took drama in high school. I wasn't very good, but my teacher saw potential in me, so I was still invited to go from Drama 1 to Drama 4, instead of Drama 2 after my first year in the class. In my senior year, I was assistant director for a student-directed play at my high school. I was also in charge of lighting. In addition to that, I was assistant to my drama teacher for his first two periods. My acting did improve finally by my senior year, and my teacher said as much. I had a Technical Theater class as well.

I took honors English in high school.

I declined a theater scholarship to USC when I realized I was too scared to move from home.

I ended up not pursuing a career in the entertainment industry at all.

Instead, I ended up in Information Systems as a major while remaining in my hometown. I won't give my actual title, but it might be easiest to understand that I'm a programmer and a bit of a low-rank programmer at that. So far as my IT experience goes, no one has ever worked under me, and I don't mind that in the least. Even so, I have nearly 20 years of experience in what amounts to problem-solving.

When I'm not working at my job, I've had hobbies that go along the lines of playing video games, watching anime, writing fanfiction, and reading books. I don't watch movies nearly as much as I used to and the same goes for TV though my obsession before this one with David Tennant as Crowley was for Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

I've also worked on audiobook readings of fanfic, both some of one I wrote and some of my favorite overall series, Austraeoh, by Imploding Colon aka shortskirtsandexplosions.

All of these traits inadvertently amount to someone who can put together some pieces of a puzzle to recognize a game, ask some of the right questions, and then actually find some of the right answers.

Now another thing about me is that I go through obsession phases. I used to be really obsessed with Devil Jin from Tekken. He used to be my favorite fictional character for many years. That changed in 2018 when Rainbow Dash suddenly became my new favorite.

Crowley's a bit of an odd situation because my favoritism for him strongly stems from the actor, David Tennant. It's not just Crowley, and it's not just David Tennant. It's the combination of these two that I love so deeply. David Tennant is perfect for Crowley.

Plus, these games help keep the obsession going.

So, a few things about my approach to the storyline and the characters.

In October 2018, I saw a promotional image for Good Omens that featured David Tennant with black-feathered wings. You do that, and you have my attention.

I decided to read the book. I had mixed feelings about Neil Gaiman's writing but had heard nothing but good things about Terry Pratchett's work.

I left the book with mixed feelings too. Some of it was funny. Some of it was really racist and took homophobia rather lightly, I thought. I was a bit bored with the kids (The Them) and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I thought Crowley and Aziraphale were a lot more interesting than everyone else. I was already fond of the idea of David Tennant playing Crowley, and thought oh yes, he will be perfect for this character.

I wasn't sure if I would watch the show because it might be too gross for my liking.

Five years passed, generally.

In October 2023, I finally decided to watch the first season of Good Omens. I was satisfied.

After that, I hesitated on watching the second season since I was at least aware the story was incomplete.

I read up on spoilers and decided to give it a go.

The ending didn't really sit right with me. I was annoyed and confused.

But, annoyed and confused as I was, I could not get enough of David Tennant as Crowley. So, I went to Tumblr to get some pictures and could at least read about what other people thought.

Here are my own thoughts on the types of fan interpretations I like of Crowley as a character.

I highly prefer to think of Crowley as clever, creative, resourceful, and imaginative. I do not think using the term "idiot" is cute or funny. I have no affection for it myself. I accept that it's part of the show and that Crowley uses it the way he does, but I don't like it. Over the years, I've read that "idiot" is an ableist slur. While I've tried to get better about my avoiding use of the term, I haven't quite reached a point where I find it my business to tell other people they shouldn't. Sometimes, in context, I get it. Even if the word weren't considered ableist, I generally don't like to affectionately insult characters I like anyway.

For me, these games show that Crowley is a more active and strategic participant in his own story than an initial viewing of season 2 might lead one to believe.

I don't really like Aziraphale much in general, so I'm perfectly good with reading posts that are more critical of him as a character. I don't seek them out, and I actually don't see them much to begin with.

My bias is rather obvious and plain so that I don't like to read those posts on Crowley. I don't say, even on my blog, that people shouldn't. I just don't want to read them. It's really not hard to criticize Crowley. I'm happy to rise to the challenge these games bring in seeing something more to him instead.

Even though I don't like Aziraphale, I appreciate the pairing itself. I also think it's important that the characters have some difference, some separation from each other as people, and I do think season 2 provides that.

And if you don't want those spoilers on the games, they're hard to avoid, but we will be moving forward through this series of posts while trying to minimize or avoid them all the same. As noted earlier, that's to help show the journey itself, to get a sense of the play that's been lost from me just shoving so many answers up front in my collection of GO2 meta posts.

Who's up for a crackpot Metalocalypse theory?

Brendon Small said in an interview, "there's one song on the record that I think kind of embodies what the future would be. I don't know if it would be as mystical or as crazy, but it would be funny."

I believe the song is Gardener of Vengeance.

The thing that sticks out to me most about the quote is that he thinks the future is "funny," which is saying something in a comedy series. I assume that means it's something that contrasts the show we've seen thus far. Brendon has another quote about Metalocalypse and AOTD where he said, "part of why I really had to finish this is because that to me was the arc from the beginning— selfish to selfless. Alone to together. That’s the big arc in the series." So if we assume the next chapter would continue that arc, it has to be something that continues the theme of growth and togetherness.

Let's think about where the series ended. Dethklok has stopped the apocalypse, but they haven't really saved the world. Metal rained from the sky, a lot of cities were destroyed. Even before that, it's probably it's safe to assume climate change existed in the show, but think of all the ways Dethklok themselves have made it worse: The environmental destruction caused by the liquid recording technology, raising the sea level in Doublebookedclock, destroying a chunk of the rainforest in Dethcarraldo, etc. The world is trashed, and a lot of that is Dethklok's doing.

So then we look at Gardener of Vengeance's lyrics. It's a song about the planet and nature, which is already notable for the "go into the water" band to be writing a song about the land. It describes the "punisher of industry" who is doling out "retribution for the toxic station." The earth is getting revenge on the people who abused it, either literally (some sort of nature spirit hunting people down) or figuratively (the planet no longer supporting human life).

Remember how the last song on Galaktikon II was called Rebuilding a Planet? My theory is that a season 5 or another movie would be about how Dethklok, being the most respected figures in the world, now has to do just that. And it's not metal to try to convince the world to lower their carbon emissions, or plant more trees, or even give up some of the things they think are fun because they realize how harmful they are. But it's what has to happen for the planet to have a future, and Dethklok's finally mature enough to care about the future.

This is even more speculative, but I think that could also be a theme: Living past the point where you thought it would be over. For the characters, that's having survived the Metalocalypse. But the show itself overcame death by getting a movie ten years after a very brutal cancellation. And I think it's a very human emotion a lot of adults deal with. Maybe you have a health condition or struggle with your mental health, and assumed you wouldn't live past a certain age. Or maybe you're just a teenager who can't imagine being 30. But then miraculously, one day you wake up, and it's your 40th birthday. Now what? What do you do with this time you never really thought you'd get?

In any case, I think the future of Dethklok would involve reconciling being both a death metal band and a symbol of hope for the world. It would be about taking responsibility for their past actions, and having to keep showing up and doing the right thing every day, instead of having short-term objectives like in Requiem or AOTD. It's not glamorous, but maybe it's fulfilling to be … Givin' Back? To the environment this time?

Returning from the crypt to give my two cents on this whole situation.

I've just been looking at the comments on YouTube and I've been seeing several videos on tiktok and the amount of people blaming Steven for everything as if it's not a group decision is ridiculous. The way people think one man in a group's company can just say yeah we're doing this now and that's final instead of having several meetings about it, everyone discussing pros and cons and all that, going through timeliness of when to set things up... that's not just one man guys. Ryan and Shane definitely have more of a say in their own company than they're trying to imply. More than anything right now I feel really bad for Steven, this is clearly something they're ALL excited about and the comments is nothing but oh well we're all here for Shane and Ryan so Steven you don't need to make your expensive food shows and drive your tesla xoxox. That to me feels more tasteless than the whole reveal.

That being said...

I do agree with how people are saying the timing and presentation is a little tasteless. We're literally in a recession right now. People are broke. The points people make about not giving money to big corporations like Netflix and Aprime and just give it to the smaller creators are missing the point. People don't want to pay for content that was previously free regardless of who's making it, end of story. Especially given the nature of 'just pirate Netflix' and all that vibe they give off, they can't expect the audience they've built with that mindset to be chill about yet another subscription to add to the pile. (Though people saying eat the rich are hilarious to me as if these three men combined have even 1% of Bezos' wealth come on now folks)

I've been on their patreon since literally day one and I'm not going to lie earlier this month before all this was even announced I cancelled my subscription purely cos I can't afford to keep supporting them at the moment given I'm barely affording to live as it is and my workplace decided to screw us over completely (people in the UK look up GAME and what frasers are doing to us managers it's soooooooo funny :))))))) ) so to now find out all but the first ep of each series they put out is going to be behind a paywall just felt like a massive kick in the teeth.

I want to support them and HAVE supported them with money from my own wallet but can't afford that anymore so how are they expecting people who weren't willing/unable to pay before all this to suddenly start paying now?

I really just hope they know what they're getting themselves in to because the last thing I want is for them to stop making content all together.

Hi friend! I appreciate your fighting spirit and hope for S3. As much as I'd like for it to be renewed, I think it deserves more than max would give. I'd prefer someone else to pick it up who would give them their 10 episodes and the amount of time they need.

Would it be more beneficial to campaign at potential buyers for a rescue rather than pleading with someone who's already made their decision? I feel like the BBC at least already had enough interest that they brought the broadcasting rights, and they have no problem with short running (3-5 season), 10-episode series. They also have an MO to run programming that is representative of the license fee payers.

Idk, as a UK resident this is the best scenario I can think of. I'm not as familiar with other companies, and I know viewer opinions do carry weight as pretty much everyone in the UK is taxed to fund the BBC. They have a televised show, Points Of View, which is entirely for people to contact with their feelings about currently airing programs.

I don't expect you to have the answer, just thinking out loud! (I did contact renewasacrew about this but haven't heard anything back yet). Regardless, I did contact the BBC myself saying why it'd be beneficial for them to rescue it the day after we got the news.

(They also have a good track record for releasing stuff on DVD)

Yeah, I agree that OFMD is too good for Max. To have a show do THAT well, and then receive a 40% budget cut for its second season, and then get canceled before it can complete its story? Insulting.

I have no industry knowledge, so this is me just wondering out loud, I keep going back and forth on what would be more likely, Max reversing its decision or another streamer picking it up. On the one hand, reversing the decision would be a blow to Zaslav's ego. Men like that don't like admitting they made a mistake. On the other, I imagine there would be more red tape to go through selling the show elsewhere? I don't know! I just wonder. And I just really want that final season!

I don't know a ton about BBC, but from what you say here, it seems like a solid option! And from what I've been hearing, reaching out to specific services (as opposed just tagging all of them in every post) is the way to go. Make it more personalized, make them see the benefits, etc.

Now that @asneakyfox has won me over, my preferred choice at the moment is AppleTV. There's an international audience, they don't seem as IP hungry as Max (Ted Lasso was also anticipated to be three seasons from the beginning, and that's what they got), they appreciate unique, quality shows that value storytelling that may not be picked up elsewhere, such as Severance. They don't seem as strict on run times, so it means we may be able to get longer episodes with Taika and Rhys doing bits! And there are a good amount of parallels between OFMD and Ted Lasso (feel-good comedies that go surprisingly deep, found family, discussions of mental health) that OFMD could very much fill that void Ted Lasso left behind.

But we'll see what happens! The important thing for now is to just continue making it clear how beloved OFMD is and how any platform would be smart to pick up a show with such a passionate, loyal fan base.

Series Masterlist

After everything that happened at Nevermore academy, there was truly only one acceptable course of action. The rest of the semester was effectively canceled.

This meant all the students had to pack their things and return to their homes. The fate of the school was up in the air, however many assumed the school would be re-opening at some point.

For Y/n saying goodbye to the school was bittersweet. Though this semester definitely put her through the ringer, there would be plenty of things that she missed.

" You don't seem to have all of your things in order yet." Wednesday lets herself into the room.

" What can I say, packing makes me emotional."

Wednesday tilts her head." You don't wish to go."

Y/n sighs," Not really, no. There are a lot of things I'm not ready to say goodbye to just yet."

Wednesday ponders for a moment," It's not a goodbye. Just a simple, see you later."

Y/n tosses some of her belongings into her suitcase. Then she sets her gaze on Wednesday.

" That's fair for most things, but there are certain things I just don't want to part from." She steps closer to the girl, not exactly touching her.

Wednesday swallows a bit." I see. In fact, I find myself in a similar dilemma. What are we to do about such a situation?"

" My mom said she's open to host you whenever you'd like," Y/n starts.

" Though I'm not entirely fond of the idea, my parents have offered the same hospitality. In the meantime, I do have one of these now."

Wednesday pulls out a phone." The only number in it currently is Enid's and I don't think I could handle only being able to speak to her."

Y/n types her number in Wednesday's phone." Now you have mine. I expect a sonnet a day."

Wednesday keeps a straight face." I could write hundreds of thousands of pages about you."

" I could write an endless symphony about us," Y/n compliments.

" Perfect. What's a story without an accompanying score?"

They banter lightly before the tone returns to its previous state.

Y/n sighs," I'm going to miss you more than I think you can comprehend."

Wednesday's hand lands gently on Y/n's cheek." I'll miss you more than I'm able to comprehend. A day without you seems wasted, pointless; rather, I fear I've grown too attached."

Y/n leans into her touch." I have the same fear. However, I'm quite certain that my fear is ill placed. For, I know, you care for me deeply."

Wednesday's lips graze Y/n's." I love you."

They kiss, it feels the same as their others; passionate. For a brief moment, Y/n wonders if they'll ever lose the passion they have for each other. Wednesday's lips effortlessly quiet the thoughts. The Addams' were people of passion, whether they showed it outwardly or not. Wednesday was certain the passion had skipped her generation, but Y/n was her assurance that she was wrong.

" I love you too."

" This is much more difficult than I anticipated." Wednesday's head rests on Y/n's chest.

Y/n tries to lighten the mood with a joke," More difficult than fighting a dead pilgrim on school grounds?"

Wednesday smiles lightly," No battle could compare to the test of our separation. It is harder to leave your side than it is to do almost anything I could fathom."

" We'll see each other again. We'll text and call, perhaps even visit each other," Y/n tries to reassure the girl.

" Why doesn't that feel like enough?"

Y/n heart swells as she struggles to find the words to properly answer her girlfriend," Well personally, I can say that I doubt that I'd ever grow tired of being around you."

" I feel the same way, yet we must part."

" Maybe you can keep me company while I finish packing, and then we can go from there?"

That's what the pair settled on. Y/n took her time taking her room apart. She was trying to prolong the inevitable, but once everything was squared away. There was nothing more she could do to avoid it.

With her bags in one hand and Wednesday's hand in the other, the two of them made their way off of Nevermore's campus.

" Let me walk you to your car," Wednesday says, trying to hold on to Y/n's presence as much as she can.

Y/n doesn't protest. When they get to the car, her mom pops the trunk, allowing her to toss her bags in.

The girl sighs heavily, giving Wednesday her full attention," A kiss for the road?"

Wednesday pecks her lips," Not only is your mother watching us, but that kiss is meant to leave you wanting more. So I can guarantee that I'll be seeing you again."

Y/n smiles," I'm always wanting more of you. No matter how much of yourself that you give to me, mon cher."

Wednesday places a lingering kiss on the back of Y/n's hand," Until next time, cara mia."

Reluctantly, Wednesday begins walking to her own car where Lurch is waiting for her. It's not until Y/n sees Wednesday get into the car, that Y/n gets into her own.

" You guys are so intense for teenagers," Y/n's mom chuckles as she starts the car.

Y/n nods," I know, I never thought that I could feel anything close to the way she makes me feel, mom. It's intense, but it's a feeling I never want to lose."

" That's love for you, kid."

Y/n's mom peeled away from the campus gates. Nevermore became smaller the more distance they drove, until it was longer visible.

Y/n's phone went off, it was a text from Wednesday.

Dinner, Friday, my house.

Y/n couldn't hide her smile. She reveled in the fact that Wednesday needed her just as much as she needed Wednesday. Though the future of school was in suspension, nothing would be able to keep them apart from each other.

I'll be there

Y/n responds almost immediately.

They were made to go together. The symphony of their love was one that would be never ending. It was something that they both knew from the first shared note. They were fated to be together and that wouldn't be changing.

if they're selling the series on being faithful to the books, the most we can aspire to is some cute scenes between them. i doubt they're gonna make canon a ship that's kinda niche (it's big in the marauders part of the fandom, but it's not as common to see it in golden era fanfics, for example). and to be fair, it's really not as canon as the fandom hypes it up to be haha there aren't THAT many intense scenes between them

I mean, when I say "make them canon" is like, hint there was something, once. I totally don't have high hopes for it but nowadays it's more accepted to have queer characters in media than it was when the books and movies came out. For example, there are some rumours going around that JKR made Tonks and Remus canon just so people would stop shipping him with Sirius and I don't quite believe it but on the other hand, I can see it. It wasn't so accepted and widespread to have queer characters. However, I can also see how it can work for them to had been something at some point too, I'll explain more later.

Also, I made a post a while ago saying that I believe Wolfstar is so popular because we've seen these two interact more and as adults too and maybe they wouldn't have been that popular if we had seen their whole story playing out from the beginning because there would have been other characters and dynamics around but at the same time, as far as we are aware, we don't know about any of them being with anyone while they were still younger so one can imagine.

I know it's popular mainly in the marauders fandom but now if we go by canon, I believe that if they were a thing, it was back then. Like, before Sirius went to Azkaban and all that. Otherwise I can see it only in some aus where everyone lives or sth, or basically Sirius doesn't go to prison. Or generally, aus that are set in another universe where none of this happens. And it's just the whole thing of them not seeing each other for 12 years, also Remus thinking Sirius betrayed James and Lily. And, of course, the fact he gets married to Tonks later. And even without the last, I feel like they would have already be too estranged to actually have something as adults. Even if they could have, unfortunately someone dies.

But at the same time, as I said, we have literally nothing to prove that any of them was with anyone else, we know lots of girls liked Sirius but he ignored them and there's this thing in his room where he had posters of Muggle girls on his walls and Remus gets married but the whole relationship between him and Tonks happens wayyy later (obvious reasons here) so these don't mean anything. As far as we're informed, they weren't dating anyone and people don't have to be strictly only straight or only gay for it to be impossible to marry someone but be with someone from another gender as well at some point in your life.

As for the scenes between them, tbh, I reread PoA and their reunion is kinda hilarious as they're both drama queens and act confusing while explaining what's going on, also they literally hug 0.2 seconds after seeing each other for the first time in 12 years and somewhat make this immediate impression that they're very close. In the movie they somewhat made it even more hilarious as Hermione says something like "You and him" while pointing at them and it landed as an even more queer accusation. And I know this doesn't truly prove anything and especially the movie moment won't have any influence on the series but in both cases the scene gives the vibe of closeness between them.

So, yeah, I'll finish this essay with the conclusion that while we have nothing that really indicates them as canon, we also don't have any proof that they weren't either and I'm pretty sure that the fact they're so shipped to the extend of people believing that the author made one marry in order to cancel the ship is just showing that lots of people could see that there might be something. And if they make this something a fact, I think it'll be taken okay by the public, even if they don't ship them. As long as it's not something that'll actually break canon later.

Oh, and just to add this too, the reason why I said in the first place that I'd be happy if they make them canon is because lately in some adaptations of other books, some ships are made canon because they make sense. And here I think they can also make sense, as a thing from the past. So that's my reasoning. It can't work with other popular ships as the characters are canonly with other people and it won't work for them as adults because it'll break other canon events but while they were young(er)... We just don't have a reason against.
