a/n: mm hii!! first fic here! I hope you enjoy it I kind of wrote it in twenty minutes and I’m just publishing it without beta reading bc (we die like men) I’m just too in love with neuv and I want to share it with the world lolol

Neuvillette couldn’t bring himself to even think about making a move.

He kept many secrets, and every time he faced your bright smile he would remember it was not his place to disturb your peace. After all, how could a young woman like you endure the dangerous claws of a dragon?

You had stopped by his house to discuss the latest trial and his emotions got the best of him, causing a rain to start pouring.

A storm was approaching; lighting was seen through the window and low thunders could be heard. Neuvillette plagued himself under his breath, hoping there would be a day where he could better control his feelings.

“Here,” he said as he handed you the cup of tea. You watched the lighting curiously, “I do not think the storm will pass for a few hours. You should stay. For the night, I mean.”

You took the cup of tea and averted your eyes from the window to Neuvillette’s face. You studied him with caution, as if it was the first time you ever saw the man — even though you worked together for many months.

“Are you okay?” you asked, ignoring completely his offer.

The words got stuck in his throat and, for a few seconds, he really thought he wouldn’t answer. The man sipped on his tea, his mind racing while trying to figure out why you would ask that all of the sudden. “May I ask why are you asking me such a question?”

It was a small gesture, but he saw it all the same; the way you flexed your hand. There was something you wanted to grab?

Something you wanted to hold?

“They say… It rains when the Hydro Dragon weeps. Yeah, that's what they say,” you murmured and once again looked out the window. To the storm. “The Hydro Dragon. That would be you, right?”

Neuvillette almost choked on his tea, every part of his body malfunctioning and leaving him with only one thing for sure: in his entire existence, this was the first time he was left completely and utterly speechless.

Your warm and comforting eyes turned to him, and you grabbed his cup of tea to put it alongside yours on the coffee table. “Neuvillette,” you spoke his name as if it was a piece of poetry you were yet to learn — eager to do so, “Talk to me.”

And then— your hands, so small and fragile if compared to his, touched him. Your fingers traced his, and you embraced his hand between yours. He could feel the warmth of your skin contrasting against his cold one, pulling him closer, closer, closer.

“When did you figure it out?” was the first thing he said, scared it may be recent. If so, there still is time for you to run, for you to escape. To turn your back and never see him again. It’s probably the best for you, he knows, but this little selfish part in him can’t stand the thought of seeing you gone.

“A month ago or so, it doesn't matter,” you’re quick to cut the subject. “I didn't mention it because I knew you didn't want me to. I’m just worried, that's all.”

Worried.

She is worried.

The realization clicks in Neuvillette’s mind, for the first time in so long acknowledging that maybe, just maybe, he was too, deserving of someone’s concern and care.

“You are saying it does not matter,” he repeats as if to confirm what he just heard.

I pushed you because I cared about you. I pushed you because you made me feel good and comfortable. I pushed you because I thought my true self would frighten you.

Yet, you’re here. And you’re telling me it doesn’t matter.

“It doesn’t. Never did,” you frown. “I just wanna know, no— I need to know why it is raining, Neuvillette. Why would you weep? I’m here with you, talk to me.”

Without giving it a second thought, Neuvillette’s right hand finds your lower back and in a split second you're pressed against his chest, the tightest hug you have ever been given. He’s much taller than you, and you can feel perfectly as he inhales your scent and hugs you tightly.

“Neuv—”

“I thought I had to restrain myself from you. I thought I was no good,” he finally speaks his mind, distancing himself enough for you to see his face; the weeping Dragon. Oh, the melancholy in his eyes.

The eyes of someone who almost lost something precious.

“Neuvillette,” you whispered. “There’s nothing better for me than you.”

And it was true; so you pulled on his hair just enough to have him connecting your lips, a sigh of relief escaping him as if there was nothing in this world he had anticipated more.

Your heart raced as you struggled to free yourself from his grasp. His strength was unbelievable, and you started to panic. The hallway echoed with your loud, muffled screams before someone charged around the corner, surprising you with a dramatic rescue.

It was a moment of intense adrenaline and fear, but your rescuer's arrival brought a sense of relief and safety that washed over you like a wave.

"Lino, Stop it! She's our neighbor!" He growled fiercely, his voice echoing through the corridor. He snatched you away from Lino, his eyes filled with anger . As he turned to you quickly, he felt your trembling body hyperventilating on his back. The fear in your eyes was palpable, and he knew you were about to faint. He stood there, his body tense.

"Oi..oi!" His voice boomed in your ears, causing you to snap out of your dazed state, and you took note of his worried expression as he looked you over. "Listen, listen…" You could feel your heart pounding in your chest as you tried to steady yourself, but the warm, sweet aroma that filled your nostrils helped to ground you. "Breathe for me. Can you breathe for me, miss?" You did as he instructed, focusing on your breaths as you looked into his puffy, chocolate-colored eyes. It was as if time stood still as his large hand gently stroked your head. "You okay, sweetheart?"

"I can help with her," Binnie said,placing his hand on his father's shoulder. "Felix is already getting the blanket and Hannie is getting water. "

Lay down?!..."Oh no, no! I assure you, I'm perfectly fine." You attempted to rise, but your legs betrayed you, forcing the man to bear your weight in his sturdy embrace.

Lino’s scoffing earned him a scowl from his father. “Oh come on, Chan, She’s faking for sympathy-”

In an instant, a wolf burst through the door, its transformation into a naked man leaving you stunned and vulnerable.

"Appa! Appa!!" The young man cried out. "I rushed here as fast as I could." He stood defiantly, his hands firmly planted on his hips. “ You’re scent smelled like shi-“

Gasping for air, you crumbled into Chan's embrace, your legs trembling with each passing second.

"Hannie! Get water! Water!" Chan's voice trembled with fear, as it seemed like he was on the verge of losing you.

Han settled on your right side, handling the glass to Chan before fanning you with one of Hyunjin's fan.

"YAH! There's a lady here!!" Binnie shouted, blocking Jeongin body with a blanket.

With a gentle touch, Han lifted you up and carried you to a more comfortable place on the couch. He propped your legs up on his lap and spoke softly. "Rest here with me,honey." His accent was distinctly English, unlike his father's Australian lilt. Though you knew you should correct him for using such familiar terms, you felt too weary to protest. A serene warmth washed over you as you drifted into unconsciousness.

Soft tickles brushing your cheek caused you stir and you fluttered your eyes open to find the father sleeping with his arms against his chest and his shoulders relaxed as snored away on the floor by the couch.

You slowly sat up but hesitanted after slightly smelling the aroma coming off of him. You found yourself leaning closer to his shoulder. Honey? Brown sugar. It's definitely honey.. Whatever it was it puzzled you , your body felt...safe and warm..even bold enough to inch closer eyeing his beefy hairy arms and.....honestly pretty side view.

With audacious courage, you dared to caress his cheek, defying all expectations and embracing the thrill of the moment.

Without realizing it, your gentle touch glided across his face, as if it was meant to be, and his head found solace in the cradle of your hand. A surge of emotions overwhelmed you as he peacefully slumbered, his snores echoing in the silence.

You melt as the sudden rush of euphoria come in the form of a sweet musk you sat up beside him gently not to interupt his slumber.

You were careful of your leg close to his arm; You took note of a crimson string laced around his bicep. You eyed the lace and you wouldn't believe it if you didn't see it but the lace latches itself around your ankle.

You let out a piercing scream, thrashing your feet in a frenzy, jolting the slumbering father awake. Despite his grogginess, he swiftly caught you just in time, preventing you from crashing onto the cold, hard floor. "What the heck? What's going on? Are ya alright?!" His eyes darted around the room, scanning every corner, ready to defend you from any unseen threat.

“ I-I have to get home.” The sweet scent of his musk intensified as he grinned, his dimples causing my heart to flutter. But something felt off...really off. I grabbed his bicep, trying to push him away, but I could sense his resistance. "Excuse me...I need to-"

"OF COURSE! Of course.." Chan's voice was shaky as his hands. Calm down calm down what the fuck is happening here?

The abrupt chill from the absence of his body warmth nearly earned a small whimper out of you but you cleared your throat to cover it.

"Does this hair look fine?" You looked at Charles as you flipped your hair to the front to decide on how you want to look on camera. The Monegasque man stared with you with such admiration that he didn't even realise he wasn't blinking. You nudged him to break him out of his trance that you seemed to have on him and he shook his head a little, giving you a boyish smile when he saw your amused face.

“Everything looks good on you, baby.” Charles complimented you, something he can’t go a day without doing. Your smile had closed your eyes as you held each other’s hands. The camera crew in front of you were in awe at the two of you showing each other your love.

“Okay, are you guys ready to begin?” The interviewer asked as she sat across from you two. You both nodded and scooted closer together. She had introduced herself and the both of you as her guests before you introduced yourselves as each other’s fiancés before your careers which caused the studio to laugh.

“How did you two meet?”

“Mon amour, you can start. I’ll add on here and there.” Charles encouraged, playing with the jewellery on your hand and staring at your engagement ring, all the memories of the proposal coming back to him. It was summer break for f1 and you two were in the hotel room overlooking Lake Como, feeling like you were in a movie. You had planned to get lunch then take a boat ride to a famous landmark there. When you had gotten there, it was quiet and you barely saw the photographer that Charles had hired for that day. You both stood in the huge butterfly garden, with you distracted by the flowers, he knelt down on his knee and professed his love for you, ‘pink + white’ by frank ocean playing in the background per his request. It was private yet so beautiful, calling both your families who knew and Arthur surprising you after the proposal.

“It’s a cute story if I do say so myself. I had taken my mom to Monaco as it has always been our dream and I was finally able to provide that for her. We were sitting in this pretty cafe in Monte Carlo and to be fair, we were gossiping and laughing so of course people would hear us but we weren’t that loud.” You smiled at the memory, seeing everything as you spoke.

“All during our lunch, Charles and Arthur, my brother in law, were sitting next to us and they were in their own realm too.” You said, giving him a look so that he could say his version of the story.

“Well um like Y/n said, I’m with my brother and I kept trying to hear what accent she had because it was beautiful. So I turn to her and ask her where she was from and we just started talking as her mom and my brother are waiting for us to finish. Her mom even said that we were meant to be because when we met, the dress she was wearing was the same colour as my eyes.” Charles spoke, constantly looking between you and the camera.

“He then asked to take me on a date the very next day and he said that he wanted to give me the universe and would be happy if i spent time with him, even if it were a short while. Three years later, here we are.” You concluded, showing your ring to the camera as you couldn’t stop smiling.

ynclo I'm glad to say that even after all this time I can still let myself create the way I do, it's been three months since my last collection and I decided to take a break before starting again. A lot of things have happened in the last year and I'm still healing but with lots of people I love (and that love me back) by my side; it's not what you asked, but I got my first photoshoot as a model rather than a designer and wish to share it with you... A short list of things that bother me about the Magisterium canon:

Forgive me in advance for rambling, I have to get these thoughts out of my brain lmao (also it's been a couple years so correct me if I'm wrong! (I really hope I’m wrong on some of these :’) )) Spoilers ahead obviously!

● The lack of Calron :(

● Not taking the opportunity to develop Tamara's character and keeping her static until she's randomly just different. Strong female characters aren't just skilled and perfect until their one flaw (usually it's having feelings like any other human being) is revealed shockingly (that's just sloppy characterization), they should be crucial to the plot and not overlooked in favor of developing other characters (from what I remember she literally was my favorite while reading the series until she just got annoying (??) after a while, of course that could just be because the story is told through Call's perspective but still)

● The entire school system that I need more info on bc it sounds so unthought out and not like something that has existed for hundreds of years

● The forceful nature of making people serve as masters?? That makes no sense? Like, “Congratulations on not dying during your schooling or in the war(s), your prize is forced labor 👍.”

● Also THE COLLEGIUM WAS MENTIONED AND NEVER ELABORATED UPON

● TGT. Least favorite book. Get out. Tgt truthers how do you do it??

● The Maugris plot twist. It destroys the meaning behind the past four books. It's just so uncalled for and frankly just sloppy ig? I love the idea in a way, but only if it's foreshadowed from the beginning. Also I'm too attached to the complicated dynamic of Alastair raising his possible ex-bestie for it to end up like that

● The fact that the iron trio is out of school for half the series, I'd like to know what's normal, y'know??

● THE LACK OF ELABORATION ABOUT THE FIRST GEN I WANT TO KNOW MORE I HAVE TO KNOW MORE

● They did my man Constantine especially wrong, give him some ✨️character✨️ aside from E V I L and problematic (trademark) and charming (???)

● AND ALASTAIR GOD TELL ME MORE?? He's characterized as distant and obviously traumatized with his hate of his magic involved past but I just need to know what that past was like. Like who was he before his dead wife syndrome?? Idk but I'd of liked any excuse to know more about it just so I can understand him more??

● Please give me a single character trait of Declan's?? Like he was mentioned a handful of times and that's all we got. He was just some guy and I am hating it !!

● And Sarah. Like. She was a mom and liked peace as a concept but she also made a cool ass knife. That's a lot of things left up for interpretation. And I know Call wasn’t allowed to ask questions for plot reasons but god i wish he had more information about his own dead mother for Christ's sake

● Also other than a victim, who was Jericho? I need to know who this kid who drew scribbles in the margins of his very important journal while writing about how he was slowly being killed was. What was his relationship really like with his brother if he was so scared to say that he was dying or what gave him the impression that he didn't care?? It's fascinating and I need him under a microscope immediately

● Also the lack of queer representation until the last two books. AND THEN IT WASN'T EVEN ANY OF OUR MAIN CAST. Literally the saddest L ever :(

● AND AARON WAS NEVER CONFIRMED QUEER LIKE WHAT THE FUCK JUST L O O K AT HIS CHARACTER AND INFACT ALL OF OUR CORE CAST IS AT LEAST BI LIKE C O M E O N (ik they're like kids but even I knew I was not straight when I was like 11 and i lived in the most conservative non-LGBTQ-friendly town known to man)

● Low key, callmara was so bad, like I love them but not the way it happened, horrible set up. Tamara deserved so much better and to not have her entire character destroyed by becoming a love interest. I wish they thought about her as an independent character instead of the means to implement a romantic subplot in tgt, they did so good in the first books with that

● Also there's no elaboration on what chaos is. It's the mystical 5th element. Wow! Let's go girl, give us nothing! You'd think that if Makaris were so exceptionally rare and special that we'd get some explanation on how they come to be and what it is exactly that they can control but we're just left to assume it's the special "chosen one" type of thing. Idk it bothers me for some reason :/

That's just off the top of my head and it's been years since I read the series all the way through (I should do a reread soon). For the most part I adore this funky series and I hate to bash it but I felt the need to ramble about it's shortcomings because I'm not crazy, right?? It had so much potential! Anyway, I'm sort of glad for the blanks in the story despite complaining about them because it leaves room for fics and fan interpretations that I always love to see, but on the other hand, I'd like for the story to feel finished and not like a last minute science fair project.

Proximity to Moonwatcher puts the they/them in there bc I think it's nice when ppl get more comfortable so they start branching out a lil bit :> Qibli has like. guy who says "he/they" because he doesn't mind they/them and wants his friends to feel supported y'know

Winter- he/him (cis + gnc)

Look I feel bad making him one of like. two cis ppl at JMA but like I think it's funny if he's cis but inflicts a status effect of gender envy on every trans person in his proximity

(Some of) my hopes (and some theories) for S3

The number 1 thing I want is a scene after Nat's had her baby where Carmy sees Syd holding the baby and his entire world stops bc that's all he wants for his future 😭 If Sydcarmy kiss or something I'll be happy and I'll reblog every single gif of it like a normal person BUT if we get a Syd holding the baby scene I'm gonna be uncontrollable on every social media platform available. I might even post it on Reddit and watch the meltdown! This is where the bar of my expectation is for S3. If we get this (or anything remotely like it) I'll be so satisfied, any other good thing that happens between Sydcarmy will be a bonus for me.

We know we're getting a Syd x Pete scene and I want a Carmy x Pete scene where Pete's talking about how great Syd is and Carmy can't help but warm to him a bit more. The potential relationships between Syd x Pete and Pete x Carmy are so important to me 🥹 my three awkward, anxious lonely babies (Pete's not lonely now but I think he probably was once upon a time and the Berzatto men singling him out of the family must make him feel lonely and not good enough :( I love Carmy but I will fight him for Pete's dignity and honour!)

Putting the rest under a cut because it's mostly just my musings and ramblings

I want Nat to say something to Carmy about his relationship with Syd. Nat saw their dynamic before Claire came, she saw Syd's reaction to Claire, how sydcarmy's dynamic changed when Claire was around and how Carmy ditching her made Syd feel. She didn't witness all of that for nothing. Someone's gotta tell Carmy how he's been (unintentionally) making Syd feel and I doubt it'll be Syd.

I need to see Richie start respecting Pete at least a little bit. Carmy's already kind of made a step towards respecting and even appreciating Pete for who he is a bit more but I need to see it from Richie too because I'm pretty sure he's the one who leads that little mob mentality against Pete. Even if it doesn't actually happen this season, I need to see it heading in that direction because Pete doesn't deserve all this slander 😭 I need Richie and Carmy to start seeing that the only difference between them and Pete is that he's mature and confident in who he is. They're both not confident in who they are so their only way of feeling like they're above him/better than him is to make fun of him for it. (IRL grown adults with this infantile mentality get on my last nerve so I need to see them come to a realization soon.)

I want Donna to make amends and start finding peace. I know she's technically an antagonist in this story but it really bothers me the way people dismiss her as if she's some monster like we aren't watching Carmy treat the people he loves the exact same way she does. If we can empathize with a man for his toxic behaviour we can empathize with a woman who was going through her own trauma and loss while she had 3 kids (plus Richie) to look after. Any parent who welcomes another person's child into their family unit for years and makes them feel like part of the family despite whatever she's going through, isn't a monster imo. I know she traumatized her kids but honestly, most parents do that and have no remorse about it. Donna has remorse for her actions and the effect it had on her kids. And what is Carmy doing to Sydney's self-esteem and confidence right now? He's definitely not helping it! l If I can forgive Carmy because he's acting on his trauma and I understand he's not just a horrible person by choice, I can do the same for Donna. I know some ppl just don't like JLC because she's pro-zionist (idek I just saw this online somewhere?) which I understand but at the same time, the actress is seperate to the character. Donna's favourite person in the world is gonna be her beautiful black daughter in law! She's gonna love and appreciate Syd so much.

I want Donna's story to end with her starting to heal so people watching this show know that even late in life when you've made all the worst mistakes and inflicted your pain on others you can still heal and try to right those wrongs. It's never too late to start being a better person. This wasn't meant to turn into a rant about Donna but I think the way some fans talk about her character is so unfair and narrow minded because they don't keep the same energy for Carmy.

Some of my theories for S3

I know no one wants to hear this but I think 3x09 Apologies will be an apology to Claire where Carmy finally comes clean about why he gave her a fake number and why he can't be with her, putting an end to romantic Claire/Carmy for good. If we see the end of Claire in the first few episodes I'll be happy but I doubt they'll waste the "suspense" of Claire/Carmy vs SydCarmy by ending it 3 or even 4, 5 episodes in. I don't think she'll be in all 9 episodes leading up to it tho (please no, I love Molly but that's way too much of Claire.)

JAW said during awards season "Claire deserves an apology" which seemed random to me at the time because no one asked him that, he just brought it up and we all know Syd is the one who deserves the biggest apology from Carmy. Idk if they were filming S3 yet when he said that but he already knows where the story is going. Actors don't just play character's "blind" without knowing something about where their story is leading, especially main characters.

I think they'll do the Syd/Claire switcheroo and make it seem like Carmy's going to apologize to Syd (because it will be glaringly obvious he needs to) but it'll be him telling Claire the truth and ending things with her. Idk if Syd will get an actual apology (it would mirror 1x08 where Marcus got the actual apology and Syd didn't even though she probably deserved it more) but I think we will get some kind of super intimate heartwarming/heartbreaking scene from sydcarmy in that episode, just like 2x09.

Also Ayo said something like sydcarmy fans won't get what they want in S3 and it's the one time I actually believe her.

I think we're going to get some amazing sydcarmy scenes in S3 but I don't think it's going to end well for them. I think S4 will mirror S1 and build their dynamic up again back to what it was before Claire came in 2x03. I think S4 is gonna be THE sydcarmy season.

I'm in two minds about whether Syd will sign the contract or not. I'm leaning towards no because despite it meaning Carmy can't just leave again, going off to do whatever he wants with "wHoEvEr" and she'll have his full focus, I just don't think she wants a legal contract to be the basis of why they're committed to working together. Syd's never tried to tie Carmy to her so I don't think she'll appreciate him doing it to her. Carmy's doing this out of desperation, not out of purely wanting to collaborate with her and Syd will sense that. I think Syd wants him to want to work with her. That's why she never actively tried to get him to stay and work with her in S2 and she could've been way more direct and harsh than "I need your focus like you need mine", Lord knows he would deserve it but she isn't trying to force him. That's why she never made him feel bad about being with Claire either even though he ditched her for Claire right when they were getting closer. She doesn't want to guilt trip him or make him feel like he owes her something, she wants it to be his own decision. She wants him to show that he wants it just like she does. And he does...but he just doesn't know how to show it in a healthy way and toxicity raised him so I can't blame him.

Idk what's gonna happen between Syd & Marcus or Syd & Luca but I don't think it actually needs to be romantic to make Carmy jealous, especially if he and Syd aren't seeing eye to eye. I don't think it's necessarily gonna be romantic for Syd either, even if they see her that way. Just like Carmy didn't really see Claire romantically (in present day anyway) and I will die on that hill. That man had zero romantic interest in her despite literally kissing and having sex with her. It was more like he was just going through the motions of a "normal" relationship than it being something he genuinely wanted. Why does he show SO MUCH want and desire for Syd but not a single iota of the same for Claire?!

Seeing Syd get close to any other man is going to bother Carmy regardless, especially if he knows the man is attracted to her. But I feel like Syd is a 'connection before anything else' kinda girl (Carmy is too, that's why having sex with Claire literally sent him into a spiralling panic attack the morning after) but Syd doesn't have the exact same issues and trauma that Carmy has so I can't see Syd being with or sleeping with someone she doesn't feel connected to like that. I could be wrong but I can't see her changing her mind about Marcus and suddenly dating him at this point. She seems like someone who knows what she wants and won't settle for less just because it's available. (Not that Marcus is "less" than anyone, my sweet little cherub.) I could see her feeling a connection to Luca though, he's basically a calm version of Carmy that pays attention.

Ayo basically saying in an interview that Will Poulter pays attention to her instead of his phone was such a random piece of info imo. I get it made context in the story she was telling but it just seems like such a deliberate pointed thing to bring up knowing right now in the show Syd doesn't feel appreciated or listened to by Carmy. She could've answered the question without mentioning Will at all tbh, and even if she did mention him she didn't need to mention all of that, give us a whole backstory and everything, idk. This might be a reach but I'm pretty sure they give out of context clues like this in interviews, they definitely do it in the show so I wouldn't be surprised.

I think it was a clue about the dynamic between Syd and Luca in S3 and the difference between Carmy and Luca is Carmy's unfocused and makes Syd feel like he doesn't listen to her but Luca makes her feel like he pays attention to her. I still don't think this needs to be in a romantic sense but I'm happy for Syd to get some TLC from a hot blond guy with tattoos before Carmy sees sense.

Idk we'll see how that story plays out in S3 but if the fact Luca pays attention to her is a plot point (even a subtextual one) I'm taking that story from Ayo as an out of context spoiler.

I love Marcus and I adore Lionel BUT I just can't see Marcus and Syd being together. Their vibe is so brother/sister to me that it would just be weird at this point in the show imo. The same way sydcarmy ending the show only ever being "platonic co-workers" would give me weird inappropriate vibes about their dynamic throughout the show. The romantic dynamic between sydcarmy and the platonic dynamic between Syd x Marcus are kinda set in stone imo, especially after S2. It'll be very difficult from a literary standpoint to drastically change those dynamics in a believable way and keep the quality of storytelling and integrity of the show intact at this point. It's not impossible, I just don't think it's likely at all.

I'll be honest, I'm not looking forward to Marcus's storyline in S3. My mum died when I was young so seeing kids (even if they're adults) attending their mum's funeral on shows/movies always makes me emotional, especially when it's a character I care about. (If we get a flashback of Syd at her mum's funeral I might actually die of sadness bc I'm not ready for that! I've had enough time to accept I'm gonna see Marcus's mum's funeral but if they spring Syd's mum's funeral on me too it might actually break me idk.) I am looking forward to seeing him be supported through it though and other than his mother's funeral storyline I'm excited to see where his story goes in S3. I feel like Carmy's gonna be an asshole to him if he starts getting closer to Syd and while I love the angst and jealousy of SydCarmy he better not hurt Marcus's feelings or be too hard on him. I can't wait for some Marcus x Luca scenes too.

I nearly forgot the loml, Tina! I'm so excited to see her story in S3, idek what to expect other than her backstory episode that Ayo's directing 🙌🏽 but I'm sure I will love it. Liza does so well in this role at making me feel things (all of the cast do tbh but Liza as Tina just plucks my heartstrings on a different level.)

HSR 2.2 Rant

spoilers ahead so don't read if you're not done with the mission!

first, since this is the easiest thing to talk about, the boss fight? the three robots (past, present, future) and aventurine's boss fight were harder than sunday's.

second, i feel deprived of ratio content. i need more of his appearance and lore, pls and thank you. a short talk (THAT'S NOT EVEN REAL) and a millisecond cameo isn't enough, i need to know exactly how much this man figured penacony out. (DORMANCY AND DEATH MENTION IN 2.1 WHEN NO ONE ELSE OTHER THAN GALLAGHER KNEW WTF RATIO)

ngl i am not fond of firefly. she's an interesting character and i especially like her interaction with blade but ever since 2.0 i was suspicious of her and felt like the game just shoved me into liking her (which me, being the avoidant lil bish that i am, do not appreciate). i felt so justified in my suspicion of her when she was revealed to be lying about who she actually is.

robin is so sincere and gentle since she was a kid and i genuinely panicked when sunday implied that he kept her away along with welt somewhere. i hope she'll be okay and that we'll get an update on her in the future stories.

sunday is such a complex character. i don't like him but he was misguided and he experienced a lot of things that seemed to cement his (faulty) logic on what a peaceful paradise is. kinda unclear whether he's alive or not but he's a very interesting character.

tldr: PENACONY WAS A ROLLERCOASTER THAT GAVE ME TRUST ISSUES AND MADE ME SUS OF EVERYONE. THIS ARC IS AMAZING.

i am excited to see what's going to happen next, especially bcs of the cliffhanger with aventurine and boothill but for now imma take a long nap after all that.

Unrequited Love

Summary: Lucy never though she would have to deal with heartbreak from a man who never even was her boyfriend. But one day she gets to hear the words "Lucy, I think I'm in love" and to her distress, the recipicant isn't her. Notes: I don't actually think this scenario is possible bc I truly can't see Natsu falling for anyone other than Lucy, but let's pretend hehe. Ao3

During all the years Lucy had known Natsu, she had never thought that he would end up with someone else. She had always had this gut feeling that the two of them were complete endgame. Lucy had spent so many years pining, waiting for them to finally get together, that the day he had grabbed her hand, held it tight and said “Lucy, I think I’m in love,” she had braced herself to be confessed to. That he would say some crazy, weird things about just never connecting the dots inside his head, but that he finally got it – that they finally could be together. Do the proper dates, the official hand holding, not just the secret thing they had done at night, after missions, on their way back to Lucy’s apartment. They would have their first kiss, they would experience everything for the first time together. They would go through the new nervousness of sharing a bed as a couple and not just as strange friends-ish. It was meant to be them.

But then he started talking about light blue hair, “like the sky, midday”, and deep, green eyes, like the forest where he grew up with Igneel, and he went on to describe an energetic, fun, light hearted girl, who apparently was the one for him. She was allegedly strong, not as scary strong as Erza, but close enough for him to be beyond impressed. And the truth was, Lucy knew that she couldn’t compare. He had never looked this happy talking with her, he didn’t have that shine in his eyes, or the light blush on his cheeks, or that softness in his brows. What he was talking about wasn’t just a brief crush – it was love, and Lucy would never live up to that.

When she walked home that day, alone, all she could do was cry. Her heart was aching like never before, she felt weak, and with a blurry vision she sat down on a bench by the river. She felt so stupid. She had known Natsu for years, and not once had he shown any signs of interest for anyone else other than Lucy. The impromptu visits to her apartment had started on day one – hell, the entire bringing her to Fairy Tail was a neon sign screaming “You’re special!” All the moments they had together, all the fighting Natsu had done in Lucy’s name, all the intimately shared details that Lucy wouldn’t tell a soul other than him – what happened to all that? 

She must have sat on that bench for an hour, just hulking and crying and grabbing her clothes by her heart, to somehow relieve the clenching, stinging feeling inside of her. At one point she found herself hyperventilating, not getting enough oxygen from all the crying. She wanted to scream, run away, but most of all, she wanted to reverse time. Back to before that dinner, back to before Natsu met his new love, she just wanted to go back to when everything between them was fine. Normal. But despite the many magics in the world, turning back time wasn’t possible. Not to that degree at least. Lucy remembered thinking briefly, that had she been a water mage like Juvia, she would have flooded the entirety of Fiore by now. She just wanted to melt through the ground and not exist anymore. Because what would happen now? Who was she without Natsu? Her guild mark on her hand was stinging, because it represented her relation to him. He was the one who made this mark possible, but now that they couldn’t be together like before, did she deserve having it?

She knew she had to get back home, into her apartment. There she could wallow in peace, she hoped, after changing her bed sheets of course. They smelled like Natsu. And she didn’t know what she was supposed to do with the fish stash in her fridge. Would Happy still be coming by? Would he have time to eat the fish before it went bad? Would Lucy be able to deal with Happy’s presence, or would Natsu’s absence be too heavy for both of them? She knew she couldn’t see anyone in her current state, or in her state in a week from now either. There was so much for her to deal with emotionally first. Even brushing her teeth would be a challenge, since her toothbrush was mingling with his in the cup in the bathroom. She would have to get rid of his towel as well, or the presence of it would remind her of the fact that he wouldn’t take showers there again. And his clothes that he had left in her hamper would also have to go, though she didn’t want to throw them away. Somehow she would have to face him and give him his things back. And his mug with a dragon print on it would have to be returned as well. Truthfully, that applied to so many things that she started wondering if she would have to burn her apartment to the ground to be able to forget him. Except no – that would mean fire, and fire was another thing she wouldn’t be able to see without Natsu popping into her head.

The thing was that the two of them had lived a life of codependency up until that night. They were practically living together, though everything was unspoken. Just the fact that he was in love with someone else meant that they couldn’t continue being friends. On paper they would always be close of course, but in reality she knew that they had to give up their friendship. They were never together, but she had to treat them like a breakup, and that felt so insanely bad. She was a fluffer, doing all the girlfriend things but never getting the good stuff. No kisses, no sex, no declarations of love. No proper dates. Just hangouts. And now she was left alone, when he no longer needed her for the other girlfriend stuff. He had gotten himself the real deal, while Lucy was left with the scraps. The heartbreak.

His newfound love was a lightning bolt from a clear sky, and it consumed Lucy’s brain to the point where she was bedridden for days. She couldn’t sleep, because all dreams were either good dreams about him, or dreams where he kept repeating that sentence. “I think I’m in love.” And then she would appear, a blue curly bob in some dreams, other dreams she was an exact copy of Lucy, but with different coloured hair and eyes. It felt nothing short of hell. Lucy kept repeating the same questions – how? How did this happen? And why – why didn’t she see it coming? Why didn’t Natsu see Lucy as a love interest? Why had he acted like her boyfriend in all aspects of physical, and then found someone else? How did he act with the other woman? Was he shy? Sly? Sexy? Proper, like a gentleman? Did he laugh as much as he did on his “dates” with Lucy? Did he take her to the same restaurants? Did he feel like the world stood still and nothing else mattered when he saw her, just like Lucy had felt with Natsu? It was terrible not knowing the answers, but she knew it would feel terrible knowing them as well.

What really kept her up at night was the smallest moments though. Like the time he took her hand on his own initiative, braided their fingers together and did that soft, caressing motion with his thumb on the back of her hand. And the fact that they were in public, just talking with their friends across the table, and Lucy had felt like Natsu was giving her all the attention in the world, despite them not exchanging a single word the entire evening. She remembered being so content with his hot hand practically glued to hers, despite the sweat and the added challenge of eating with her left hand. But she hadn’t wanted to pull away first, and seemingly, neither did Natsu. Though she couldn’t remember how it went, eventually they had released each other from their grips. It hadn’t been significant then, the important part was that they held hands, not that they quit holding hands. But now she was facing the truth – all things came to an end. If none of them started things again, then she just had to realize that it had ended. She was left wondering if it ever meant anything. Was it just something he had tried out on a whim? Was it too much for Lucy to gently squeeze his hand back? Or was it too little? Should she have done more, or would it have ruined everything?

What about all the times he had come to her rescue while she was doing small, everyday tasks? Like rushing to the store to buy more rice while she was cooking, fixing the flickering light in her bedroom in the middle of the night because she couldn’t concentrate on writing, despite him getting woken up after being dead asleep in his own house, building furniture he had ruined in the spree of the moment. Had it all just been friendly? And if it wasn’t just out of pure kindness, if there was some love involved, what made him fall out of love? What had Lucy done wrong, and how could she fix it?

The next months were an out of body experience for Lucy. She knew the time had passed, and she knew she had to get back in the saddle, but she was still at that diner, listening to Natsu go on and on about his love and the fact that Lucy wasn’t on the receiving end of said love. And every time she tried to move on, it was painfully obvious that she didn’t have a place in the guild without Natsu. It wasn’t that anyone was shutting her out – if anything she had been offered to go on more jobs than ever with people. But she knew it was temporary. As soon as she seemed normal again people would be able to get back to their daily activities, and those activities didn’t include Lucy. So she took on solo jobs exclusively. Always mumbling about rent and increased costs of living, and then she went away as soon as possible. She hoped that if she went on enough missios, she would forget about her troubles for a short while. If she drowned herself in complicated jobs, she wouldn’t have time to wallow.

Naturally, that wasn’t the case. She still thought about Natsu every waking second of the day, but she found slight comfort in being far away from the crime scene. Soon enough he would bring her to the guild, coax her into joining Fairy Tail, and then that would be it. Lucy would have had to be over it. But it had been months and she still cried every night. She knew that it would never mellow out, this feeling of despair and despondency. She had never ever, not even in her wildest dreams, thought that she’d live a life without Natsu by her side. There had been a before him, and a during him, but to be the only universe where she lived to see an after him, was just terrible. She loved him. So, so much. She didn’t know how to function without him. It felt so miserable, that she once caught herself thinking that Future Lucy saved Natsu in vain. She immediately regretted that thought, because of course she didn’t want Natsu dead, that would be just as bad. But she wondered if Future Lucy had done it all again if she knew how broken she would become.

There was some consolation in the fact that they were together in every other universe. It sucked that she had gotten the short straw amongst the many versions of Lucys that were out there, but at least it was she who had gotten the shortest straw. Had she learned that Edo-Lucy spent her time fighting an unrequited love she would have felt useless. She would have wanted to help her, because she hated seeing others suffer. Lucy would always pick other people’s happiness over her own. If happiness was available to everyone, she would naturally pick that option, but if it wasn’t and she would have to sacrifice her own peace of mind, then she would in a heartbeat. Plus, at least she knew that Natsu was happy in all universes. Not always happy with her, but happy nonetheless.

Every time she saw his face she felt ill. Not in a disgusted way, but in a sad way. She missed him so much. She wanted to spend more time with him – the time she had gotten wasn’t enough. They hadn’t done everything she wanted them to have done. They hadn’t gone to that café in Hargeon that opened a couple of months ago. They hadn’t seen the renovated towns that they had been to during their missions once. She wanted them to visit some old clients, especially that one lady who had wild boars pestering her plantations. Lucy had promised her that they’d visit and have some tea together. Would she have to go on her own now? Tell her that everything shattered because Natsu had found another partner? Not technically, but emotionally. It was so confusing to spend time without him. Like life wasn’t real anymore – just on pause until they got back together. Except that it wasn’t like that, and Lucy had to move on. For all she knew, Natsu probably felt like life had just begun.

Sometimes, when they both were at the guild, Lucy found her eyes drawn to him. It would have been fine if she hadn’t noticed that his eyes went to Lucy as well. For a split moment, their eyes would meet, and everything was back to normal. Sharing a small glance, a glance that said “I see you, I’m thinking about you” and that was it. Except now she noticed that he didn’t linger on her. Only for a short moment, with an empathetic look in his eyes. Then he looked away again. The connection between them had been made, and was then removed. And Lucy hated it. She hated being just another guild mate that he looked at while being lost in thought. But even more, she hated that he knew about her feelings. Even if he didn’t know exactly how she felt, he knew that she was grieving their lost friendship. She was grieving the loss of Natsu, despite him being alive and well. It was shameful that he knew, because it meant that her feelings didn’t matter at the end of the day. He knew she craved him, he knew she missed him like she missed her mother and her father, yet that pain wasn’t worth giving up on his true love. She was cast aside, left longing after what could have been.

She wondered: How could her heart get broken by a man who never even loved her? But she knew. She was in so deep when it came to Natsu. He enchanted her, she had given her heart to him and he hadn’t known what to do with it. But he kept it. Lucy would never truly be able to let him go – for her, he was the one. Anyone other than Natsu would be settling. She would eventually do exactly that, settle for the next best guy, but it pained her that Natsu was the one who kept her heart and her soul behind locked bars. She would never get those back. Whomever she was towards her new guys, it could never be as authentic as it was with Natsu. 

For her, it was unrequited love. For him, it was nothing.

like im sorry to harp on this but like when i think about it. im like louis had no reason to ever contemplate any possibility of seeing heaven. just based off his catholic beliefs and the guilt he was riddled with. i truly dont see that it would be something he’d believe possible for himself. and lestat just flat out rejected god all together bc of religious trauma. but claudia had no reason to ever think she would see anything else. she genuinely thought she died and would finally have relief from her life at 14 she accepted death. like she wasn’t in that room screaming or pleading or losing her mind to survive she accepted death completely and just hoped not to experience anymore pain than she had to. thats not no little thing. survival instinct aint no hoe. so to get to a point where you like fuck it i guess we dying and to not even be crying or nothing. you really have had to have known suffering or at the very least have made peace with death. her belief she would go to heaven is a super telling character beat. that was part of the peace that helped her close her eyes and wait for the flames. she was leaving hell. and they took that from her and dragged her to another layer. she didn’t carry guilt in her heart about anything. and that froze in time too when she was turned and i think that plays a role with why she didn’t carry guilt about the serial killing she was doing. she doesn’t think she has done anything wrong to deserve damnation and she doesn’t think she’s doing anything wrong in embracing it if she has to endure it so be it.

My Top 10 Favorite Breaking Bad Universe Characters

1. Howard Hamlin - this one is kinda silly bc he is much less developed than other characters, but I can’t help it. His tragedy hits so hard, it took a character whom I didn’t really care about and made him my absolute #1 fave. Rest in peace Howard you deserved better🥺💔

2. Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman - Gilligould really took a look at their whacky comic relief lawyer in Breaking Bad, and said “hmm, what if we made him the absolute most complex and fascinating character in our entire fictional universe”. And then they did.🙌

3. Jesse Pinkman - God his story hurts. He had one of the best hearts in the whole show, yet he suffered more than ANY other character. His character goes from loveably silly to absolutely heart shattering. I hope he found some peace in Alaska.❤️

4. Walter White - I just can’t help but love this horrible horrible man. He’s goofy and ridiculous, but also insane and egotistical in the most entertaining way. What a great protagonist, he’s compelling when I am rooting for him and compelling when I am praying for his downfall.

5. Chuck McGill - IMO, the best antagonist in the whole BrBa universe. The Jimmy vs Chuck storyline was TOP TIER, Chicanery was a masterpiece of an episode, Lantern and Winner are just dripping with tragedy and sorrow and what-if's. And it's all because of Chuck. Rip Chuck, you may have been a prick but damn if you didn’t make this show the brilliant piece of television that it was.

6. Kim Wexler - no character gives me more mixed feelings than Kim. I always liked her in the early seasons, then I despised her in s6a, then my heart broke for her in s6b, and now I retroactively have so much more love and sorrow for her earlier self because there was so much good there and she could have been so much better and GOD Kim is such a tragic, amazing, well written character.

7. Skyler White - oh my god, my poor wife. You deserved so much better than what the audience gave you all those years. You were a queen, and so right about everything, and I am so sorry I didn’t see it before but now I will defend you until my dying day❤️❤️❤️

8. Lalo Salamanca - he’s just so insane and silly and entertaining. He steals every scene he’s in, and in my opinion added some desperately needed charm and charisma to the cartel side of the show. Legit was rooting for him against Gus, even though he killed my boy Howie and I knew he was doomed to fail.

8. Nacho Varga - Like Jesse, he went through so much despite having one of the most decent hearts on the show, and it all culminated in such a tragic yet powerful death scene. And I love love love the idea of the curse of Nacho Varga dooming Gus, the Salamancas, and the Cartel for their sins. His ghost looms over Breaking Bad, and makes both shows much richer as a result.

9. Cheryl Hamlin - she fascinates me, we see very little of her and yet I loved her scenes and want to know more. I'll also not tolerate Cheryl slander, we don't know what was going on in her and Howard’s marriage, and in the end she stood up for him when nobody else did.

10. Mike Ehrmantraut - to be honest, I'm not the biggest Mike fan. Not because there is anything wrong with his character per se, but I find it a bit annoying how the fandom idolizes him as a loveable grandpa/moral criminal when he actually is kind of horrible and not all that different from Walter. That being said, I do love what they were going for in BCS, showing his slow corruption as he keeps going back into the world of crime to avoid dealing with his grief for his son's death, culminating in that amazing scene where the show calls him on his hypocrisy and Manual Varga tells him 'you gangsters and your justice, you are all the same'. I just wish it was explored more explicitly in the narrative and fandom the way that Walt and Jimmy's moral corruptions are.

not me suddenly remembering that back then in 2022, i literally installed genshin (i’m not even the type to play games) just to send you or was it your partner(?) genesis crystals bc i was sooo freaking desperate for suna & yn to be endgame (if i’m not wrong you jokingly said that you’ll consider a sunaxyn ending if someone sent crystals) 💀💀💀 but at the rate of how the story is progressing so far i highly doubt that will happen 😩

i feel toxic for saying this but i genuinely can’t with a “peaceful” redemption arc when it comes to him. sure it’s good that he might eventually want to be a better brother & prince but???? like cmon wdym by he’s just gonna live by peacefully after everything he has put yn through???? 😭😭😭 if they aren’t endgame, i just hope that he’ll have regrets for the rest of his life for everything that he has put her through both physically & emotionally. and that it will genuinely HURT him to see that she’s with his own brother now but theres nothing he can do about it since he knows that he doesn’t deserve her.

wait omg did you really install genshin just to send crystals?? you’re too sweet, hold on 😭 and yes, the crystals were sent to my (ex) girlfriend and she did her best convincing me to make it a happy sunayn ending. we broke up two years ago though but as i’ve said, my mind can change anytime <3 if i feel like a sunayn would be a better ending, or an omiyn one, then we’ll go with that !

hmm i don’t think its toxic. everyone has their own opinions on how they want the fic to go and this one is very valid, no worries ;) i think though, if he does not end with reader, he will both be extremely hurt but relieved. deep down, suna thinks very highly of his wife, and he may not admit it out loud, but he never expected he’d feel more pressure to be perfect after marrying her. he feels like she’s too good to the extent her goodness emphasizes his flaws. and he definitely feels like he has to try hard just to be ‘good enough for her.’ suna is a very insecure man, and he will respond by degrading her or stepping on her pride to make him feel more like they’re ‘equals.’ so if ever reader does end up with kiyoomi, suna will also be relieved

because he knows kiyoomi deserves reader, and suna will no longer have to try to be ‘good enough for her’
