Whos the orple hedgehog? She's super cool!?? Is it an AU? What is it about? (sorry for the many questionsssss)
You're asking me about my AU!?? I've waited years for someone to ask me about my AU!!!!
I've had this AU idea since I was little! It's kind of a role swap between Sonic and Amy. (Not a personality swap)
Here, Amy is the main mascot/character instead of Sonic. (Like, Imagine if Amy was the face of SEGA instead)
Tumblr media
(The AU was mostly based on SA2 and some other games. I do want to make it clear that the way the canon stories go is not exact to the AU. Idk how to explain it exactly but I'll probably doodle stuff from time to time. And no, I don't plan on re-writing the entire sonic canon just to make the AU work....just pretend it works somehow IDKLMAO. Like I said, I'll be doodling my ideas out from time to time.)
:]
So in this AU there are a few things I changed. Such as characters who are originally based off of Sonic's design like Shadow, Metal Sonic, etc. I would have to redesign them to be based off of Amy's design.
So far I've got "Shadow's" redesign, who is the purple hedgehog you've seen. This is what I meant by being "based off of" Amy's design. This is still technically Shadow, but her name is Sombra Thorn. An opposed name to Amy Rose while still keeping the "shadow" part of the name. ("Sombra" means shadow in Spanish).
Tumblr media
I created Sombra's rough concept in 2018/2019-ish on a math homework page. (It's lost)
And made her early design in 2021/2022.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is old old old art..........her design looks so much cooler now.
I've also got "Metal Sonic's" design already, I just haven't posted it yet. Though its not Metal SONIC here, it's Metal AMI.
(Changed the og name from Amy to Ami for reasons I'll show later) I will explain more about her character soon.
Sonic in the AU is "replaced" with Nicky the Hedgehog (even though they're technically the same character). He does still go by "Sonic" as a nickname.
In this AU, Amy and Nicky are a couple, just like in the Sonic Shogaku Gonensei ("Nicky the Hedgehog") manga. He does have his super speed still, except his personality is a mix of Nicky's and Sonic's. I'll try showing it more when I draw!
Tumblr media
A fun little thing I want people to know about are his boots! They are unfolded versions of Sonic's boots.
Tumblr media
When he's in battle he'll fold them down, it helps him control his running better. Otherwise they will remain as normal unfolded boots.
I might try re-redesigning him again.
OH YEAH- Sonic and Tails ARE still like brothers here. That isn't replaced with Amy. (I'll doodle stuff about this too)
Tumblr media
- • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • - • -
So YEAH- that's a quick run down on the AU so far. There are still many complications but... that's tomorrow's problem...
These are the characters I've been, and probably will be, working the most with. So expect to see them a lot.
Maybe it's because they are alt. versions of some of my favorite characters (Amy, Sonic, Metal & Shadow)
Just enjoy the characters! That's what I really want!!
I hope I can draw the characters and their interactions more so you can have a better idea of them. But be patient! It will also depend if I feel like drawing them. I'm doing this simply for fun and because I want to.
And since people seem to really love my ideas and designs it's been encouraging me to share more cool stuff like this!
Tumblr media
Now, I have to restrain myself from info dumping to the point where it's too confusing or too much to take in.
GRRAHHHH!¡!¡!¡!¡!¡!

In recent weeks, I have been receiving hate anons on my ao3 fic. I have tweeted about it here and there, but have mostly ignored it. Unfortunately, today I received another, and due to the content, I feel like I have to respond. It’s been said before but it bears repeating: public accusations like these are damaging to creators, even when they are phrased passive aggressively rather than direct.
I shall endeavor to answer these in full in this message and then I don’t plan to address this issue again. I would have preferred this to be resolved more maturely, through conversation, but as these remarks have been placed in the public sphere, and have been happening for weeks now, I am opting to reply openly.
The concept of an A!A that could be softer was inspired by a number of A!A fanfics, particularly 'The Rogue You Were', and I have always been open about this. In fact, were you to look at chapter 1 of Whither, an acknowledgment exists. Whither’s foundation was built on this concept, and grew into 2 – going on 3 now – full longfics from there. I have never been shy about where my original inspiration came from.
These tropes that I am now accused of copying (masquerades, Raphael-esque characters, Astarion being murderous, comic relief, and bats) are as we all know common tropes amongst the fandom and amongst vampire literature, and were not new concepts when they were used by the person claiming credit for them.
My favorite thing about fandom spaces is that they are a place to share ideas and collaborate. The person who made this accusation was someone I considered a friend: we had openly expressed to each other various instances where she and I were inspired by each other’s work. I have credited her influences; she has not credited mine. Dredging up screenshots to support this statement would be exhausting, and I hope it doesn’t become necessary. I’d much rather be working on my fic than dealing with this, and I hope this is the end of it so we can all get back to doing what we enjoy with our time.
I have as of late retreated from reading other fanfic within the fandom; mental health issues and intense impostor syndrome have rendered it impossible for me to engage in others’ writing, no matter how much I’d like to. Art, being something in the fandom that is removed from writing, is something I really enjoy seeing and delve headfirst into, but I am not at all up to date on the latest fic trends. These ideas (the masquerade, batstarion, and a more light-hearted tone) are things my editor and I have long wanted to add to the fic, but they did not fit into the plot right away. Presenting a cohesive, well-thought-out story has always been the most important thing to me, rather than chasing the latest trend.
We are all playing the same game, writing from the same base material, often for the same characters with slightly different takes on those characters. There is no way to write for a fandom, particularly one like this, without a fair bit of overlap. I've worked hard this year to find my peace with that, and to not see others using similar plot points as copying. We are all appreciating the same masterpiece of a game, after all.
And lastly, I’d like to add that I don’t in any way condone harassing anyone, anonymously or otherwise, so please do not do so on my behalf.
Comment can be seen in this chapter, will post a screenshot if it's deleted:

Your oc's are so cool!! It's such a surreal feeling to get back into a fandom and wake up up find that one of my favorite artists is also there. Say, quick question do you plan on making executions for your oc's or do they survive? Well whatever you do I hope you'll have fun with it and as always remember to be well hydrated and take breaks, I hope your doing well mint.
BXDISBSK OH HELLA!! Also thank you 😭😭 I'm glad you're enjoying my silly dr2 art and my oc planning lmao
Honestly I was originally planning on having only 2 ocs specifically because I wanted one to kill the other in order to maintain the same group of survivors in the end lmao. I'm still trying to fully work out the setup and inevitable execution because the plot writing for dr2 is really tight and well progressed imo, so I feel like adding anything would weaken it-
BUT I'm also just having fun and being silly so I know it doesn't have to be perfect it just needs to let me have fun really lmao
I'll add a readmore but I'll ramble about each of them a little if anyone has any interest
Tumblr media
First up is the first one I made, Haruka (forgive all of their basic bitch Japanese names, I can't do the fun wordplay to the level I wish) they're the ultimate ballerina, and by extension also nonbinary kind of feminine leaning androgynous but can be masc if needed because they can do any kind of role required of them for a performance
When they're tossed into the dr2 mix they'd probably be found being a third wheel to the dynamic duo that is Akane and Nekomaru, since they're also technically more athletic and would be stretching and practicing every day. I want to sit down sometime and draw them and Akane engaged in a flexibility battle and Kazuichi walking in on them and screeching because they look so creepy
Haruka is planned to be a murderer and I'll definitely get some drawings out once I flesh out my concepts for their execution more
Tumblr media
Next up is Nao! She's the ultimate sharpshooter and yes that is a little vague but it's because this includes bows and such on top of typical guns. Hell, she probably even does well with throwing stuff if there's enough focus
With the dr2 cast she'd be mostly a friend to Ibuki and Kazuichi, their eccentricities are endearing to her, plus if either of them just want to ramble about something they're working on she's gonna listen for hours. Honestly they're such a movie night squad to me. Also post game I feel like she's like a girl in the same way I still see Kazuichi a guy, like in the vaguest terms cuz they're both just Themselves and are gonna have fun with it now since they're apart from society. Ibuki isn't included only since I feel like she'd struggle less, but this is the bi/pan gender fuckery trifecta of the group to me
Oh yeah and Haruka kills her. I've got the death already planned out and ideally I wanna do a cg style emulation for it but idk if I can swing it lmao I'm not very good at style emulation tbh
Tumblr media
And last but not least is Tōru. I didn't plan on her existing so idk how I'm gonna get rid of her in time for the end hmm. But she's the ultimate tattoo artist and has the most fleshed out backstory of the three but it's embarrassing and I know it LMAO
Basic run down- and stick with me here- she lives with family that work under the Kuzuryu clan, so she's done a lot of sick yakuza tats, partially because of her skill and mostly because this shit is so good that her tattoos have like, an "aura" that influences the viewer a little. So these dudes have extra intimidating tattoo bullshit going on- BUT ANYWAYS so things start and she can recognize Fuyuhiko and Peko and knows what's up with them, but neither of them have officially met her so she's like "oh thank fuck they have no idea that I know who they are I'm gonna avoid these assholes like the PLAGUE"
But of course that won't hold forever but it just makes me laugh like chapter 3 Fuyuhiko trying desperately to be kinder to everyone like "yeah, maybe I'll see if you're good enough to tattoo me some day" and she's choking on her drink because Haha About That-
But yeah hopefully I can rope one of my friends into having their oc knock her off because I think that would be funny like, getting down on one knee please kill my oc tragically

interesting…looks like in that first apocalypse au art Callie has scars in the same place as some of her zombie-isms. Does this mean Callie is cured? Or is that first art taking place before Callie is infected?
YES i was hoping someone would ask about this
Iif you are infected, the disease is curable up to a certain threshold. The longer it progresses untreated, there will be health effects related to infection (ex. with Callie, the affected eye "grew" back, but she's now severely visually impaired and photosensitive in that eye). Both eyes are more sensitive in general because they are less protected from UV rays (lost melanin).
Most people assume that once you're infected it's game over, and the cure is difficult to synthesize, never mind distribute.
Tacking on some more information because I was doing some more writing a while ago regarding the disease and its origin and I like talking
Tumblr media
Old sketch mostly for color and concept
Retconned some stuff surrounding Marina and the details of the settlements bc it was kind of broad, the timeline is pushed back a bit further into the past.
Marina and Pearl are still together but since I changed how the disease itself works as well as the timeframe, I don't think they're quite in a spot to open the doors of their compound to outsiders. Marina is still studying the disease and Pearl is infected. Her treatments consist of sitting in a medicated ink solution to slow the progression of the disease and the presentation of symptoms.
Also note their states of dress here. Pearl stays inside mostly because the disease is causing chronic fatigue, but Marina seems hardly equipped to be coming face-to-face with shamblers and definitely not to prevent injuries or micro-abrasions ....
The disease is actually an octarian bioweapon :3 Marina is unable to become sick from it. It wasn't intended to be used just yet. Octolings can be carriers (as I hc they and inklings to be similar species, but it's more of a horse + donkey situation).
I haven't been drawing all that much for the au, so I don't have anything else to attach rn (I've been busy writing a different au and the doc has ~11k words atm). I drafted this a while ago and hoped to have more to share but not yet

RUINED KING AU GUIDE POST
Hello everyone, i see some people still stumbling upon the very first crumbs of my AU and i decided to make this post linking all the related content here. I'll be pinning this post so everyone who is interested in looking into the (still little) AU can have easy access.
Tumblr media
What's the AU about? It's called Ruined King AU but its not exclusively about the characters about the game, but it will center around Miss Fortune's gang in the game. This means besides the 6 protagonists of the game, characters like Viego or Thresh also have a paper, aswell as champions that are mentioned in the game, like Yone, and champions who are not ingame but exist in League Of Legends, like Lillia. Its also named like that because i still havent found an appropiate name.
Is it an School AU? Not exactly. Althrought their studies play a role in the AU, it will be also highly focused on what happens outside school, the bonds between characters, heavy influenced by both internet culture and my own experiences in my hometown. Just six dudes who happen to be on the same institution bonding through experiences, things happen, its not an entirely cheerful AU but it mostly is.
LINKS: How did the gang end up together + A brief walk on their life journey and where are they now.
How they look like!!!
Early concept/summary of their relationships (Spanish in the image and english translation in the caption.)
Headcanon charts that apply both for canon and AU
Study interest/Future achievements (Spanish in the image and english translation in the caption.)
Heacanon charts that apply both for canon and Au pt.2
About the Shadow Isles champions and Gangplank
Pyke has a fish :3
Brief look into the main cast
Sleepover day post!!
Miss Fortune's birthday party post!!
Roadtrip post (Applied to the AU)
Silly post about vines because i dont know how to edit videos
Driving skills ask
Since this is also becoming the pinned post, im including some of my info:
Hi! My name is Rain. I use She/Her pronouns. Im absolutely obssesed with Pyke and i selfship myself with him, but i dont gatekeep and i love having other Pyke interested people interacting with my posts!!
I have an art account where i post mostly league stuff but other fandoms aswell -> @rain-waifu
Tumblr media
Basic DNI's. Just dont be a fucking cunt. If you support Trump or any kind of bullshit like that i will rip your fucking face apart <3 No TERFS allowed you better run the fuck away.
Asks are always open <3 for AU and league related stuff and other type of questions too. Hope you have a great day!!!

First post! Here is some concept art by rainy!
(Traffikcone will post afterwards too ;D )
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Here are drawings i did while trying to figure out what titania summerdream’s design would look like in genshin! She will come from fontaine, a region based mostly on france that has steampunk elements to it. I really want titania to still look like a fairy, but it’s pretty hard 😓 i definitely need to add more details, since genshin impact designs always have lots of them. I also want titania’s cape to look like butterfly wings 🦋
More under cut!
Tumblr media
I definitely wanted her hair to be different from her original sims 2 look, a lot of sims have the same hairstyle, and i don’t want to draw the same hairstyles for 2 different sims, so i decided i would make the premades hairs look more “anime” and be more fitting for a fantasy setting. I really want to get creative with the hairstyles while still making the premades recognisable, i don’t know if i will Succeed in doing so, but it’s worth a shot!
Now i already showed these on my writing blog but i’ll Show them again lol:
Tumblr media
Here is juliette! She was the first one i designed. İt’s a popular headcanon that she loves video games i think? But i don’t think genshin impact has video games unfortunately for her…sooooo i made her a well known chess player instead! She is also from fontaine, and she is a hydro claymore user.
I feel a claymore really suit her! İ tried to make the top part of her design look a bit “heavy”? With her puff sleeves and all lol i’m not very good at drawing weapons yet, hopefully i can improve drawing them with this crossover :)
Also Yes, being a chess player means You have to wear chess pieces/ wear a checkerboard pattern on your person, i don’t make the rules, Sorry
Tumblr media
Last is hermia, a design i still need to work on, this is the only art of her i have so far. I’m not very happy with this design, but i do like the hair and scarf! İ’ll probably keep the shorts in my final design, they’re cute! İ don’t have much to say on this one…
İ think that’s all i’ll Show for now! This was rainy and her concept art, hope anyone that see’s this likes it 😎

Weekly Anime and Manga Log [06/11/2023]
This was a quiet week overall. I read the new volumes of Komi Can’t Communicate and Call of the Night. My goal is to catch up to Viz’s simulpub chapters later this year when the gap is closed. I finished the most recent Conan volume on the Viz Manga app. There was a new series from Jump+ this week. Next week starts a round of 2 new series from Jump. Mashle likely ends for 1 slot, and the other slot is a good question right now. Discussion and spoilers for the following titles below: One Piece 1086 Blue Box 104 Nue’s Exorcist 5 Cipher Academy 27 Marriagetoxin 50 Magilumiere Co. Ltd. 73 Demon Lord Exchange!! 1 [NEW] Pokemon Horizons Ep.10
One Piece 1086 This chapter concludes the second half of the Reverie arc with a few major reveals. We first learned the names of all the elders, which has been a long time coming especially given that we found out about Saturn several months ago. Secondly, we saw the leader of the Holy Knights and the Figarland family. This name was first revealed in Film Red because Shanks belongs to that family too. Overall the mid-arc intermission was longer than I expected for sure. Its cool to get all the background to why characters are where they are right now, but at the same time the Reverie was 5 years ago. It feels like we should have already known everything about how it resolved. We haven’t seen Luffy since March. One Piece will be on break on a month while Oda recovers from Eye Surgery. Hopefully it’ll go well for him! Blue Box 104: Well folks it actually happened. Taiki confessed at the end of last chapter and.... Chinatsu successfully heard it. She took a moment collect her thoughts and responded in the affirmative. Taiki and Chinatsu are going to be going out now. This is where a typical Jump rom-com would be ending because the love triangle is over and the main couple is going out. However, this very much feels like the mid-point in the story. I hope they don’t keep it a secret from their friends if the series continues. It would be really interesting to see how they balance their sports and love life. Chinatsu and Taiki still haven’t won anything notable in their respective sports yet either. I’d like to think we’re simply moving into a new phase of the story. Nue’s Exorcist 5: My goal is never to be overly negative if I can help it, but I also want to share some thoughts on Nue’s Exorcist. When the one shot was published last year I thought it looked promising. It had striking art and enough personality to make want to see more. Well now we’re 5 chapters into the serialization and its been an endless string of disappointment. Nue is a boring character outside of her design and the male mc literally no reason to exist in this story. In the first chapter they had to use the same flashback panel 4 times to get you to care. There’s also an exorcist character who I can’t figure what her purpose is because the story can’t define any character traits. The art striking from the one shot is largely gone. Not a single spread page yet. Jump usually likes to have an exorcist series around at all times, and this one is the weakest in recent memory. It’s surprised that someone is approving such bland chapters. Tokyo Demon Bride Story had personality despite its mostly unoriginal concept. Sorry Jump, this series is a miss. Cipher Academy 27: Coming off the heels of Tayun’s overwhelming win last chapter, we enter the second match of this code battle. This time staring the bandage girl Shutan. The theme of the game is a password guessing battle where everyone needs to be on the same page about the correct response expect for the enemy “spy”. Using Jojo examples and a character speaking upside down are both very Nisio things. I was actually able to understand the punchline of this code match for once. It relies on Japanese having multiple ways for people to refer to themselves in the first person. Next chapter promises a 2v2 match to speed things up. Just maybe our class can walk with a clean sweep of victories.  Marriagetoxin 50 I figured now would be a good opportunity to discuss this series since its been licensed by Viz and reached 50 chapters this week. Marriagetoxin is about an assassin named Goro who is looking to find a marriage partner. Throughout the series he meets many potential partners and helps them in some way. After a battle heavy arc that culminated in the classic shonen mc power up moment, the newest arc comes back to the series roots. Goro’s family will never allow him to be happy. It would go against the traditions this family of poison users is built upon. I think the art and direction are both fantastic. Its the kind of series that’s entertaining to read with some heartfelt character arcs. I just don’t think it has a lot of depth for week to week discussion. Anyhow, I think the story is in a good place right now. A lot of manga serializations tend to feel better about fleshing our their characters at about the 1 year mark. Magilumiere Co. Ltd. 73 Similarly, Magilumiere was also licensed by Viz this week. Its an adult magical girl series where this is a full fledged job profession. Think Symphogear but they do this for a living. The story focuses on corporate big business vs. start-ups and Regulation vs. Deregulation of technological innovations. I wouldn’t call this a mature title by any means, but the business commentary can be interesting. The current arc is versus a man made Kai that was planted to show the public how dangerous they are. The enemy is looking to deregulate magic technology by scaring the public. While our main characters argue that regulations are a necessary tool to keep peace and stability. At the core of this battle is a rivalry where a girl in a rival company has to overcome her long held mentality that she is nothing more than a tool for her company. I enjoy the series for being a different take on magical girls that is more than a kids show while not being mature and edgy like the late night anime versions of the genre. Demon Lord Exchange!! 1 [NEW] Let me start by saying I’m that into stories of RPG style parties beating the Demon Lord. I find them to be very often uninspired and too close to video game logic. But, I’ll always give everything Jump+ publishes a try. The spin for this series is the Demon Lord is bored and instead of killing the hero’s party he offers to switch souls with the heroine character. The Demon Lord wants to experience the human realm for a year to get a different view on life. I didn’t find the premise nor its characters that interesting. It might have some funny moments here and there with the almighty Demon Lord reacting to mundane things he’s never seen before, but overall I am pretty sure this series won’t be for me. Surprisingly its not perverted for the time being. The artist does a good job capturing the sense of scale for both the size of the creatures, and the wider world near the last page I plan to give it a few more chapters to see what happens before making a final decision about whether to follow it or not. Pokemon Horizons Ep.10 This week was the long awaited debut of Nemona from the SV games. She is the exact same down to the mannerisms and constant desire to battle everyone she comes across. Nemona is also voiced by the amazing Eri Kitamura. The plot of this episode was meeting the grass gym leader Brassius to find out what he knows about the shiny Terra Rayquaza. They helped him overcome an artistic slump and Roy battled him. I was somewhat surprised to see Roy lose (I was worried for a moment that he might display Ash behavior). That likely means Roy might re-battle him later or possibly Riko takes a turn. Nemona was mostly here to add commentary and nudge the story more into the gym leader route from SV. Regardless, they’re off on a mini adventure to the nearby forest to investigate the information they learned. It seems we’ll be in Paldea for a little bit based on the upcoming episode titles.

Ehehehehheh, so glad you picked up what I was laying down there!
See spider-borg Widow was very much the idea I had in mind when putting her as Tank in that list, but there's actually a little bit of a history I was hoping to reference with the idea.
See, there's no less than 3 things that "spider tank" could refer to when talking about Overwatch's development history, all of which I'd want to give their own posts but I'm gonna go ahead and ramble about now while it's topical.
The first "spider tank" is... Orisa. Now, "spider" isn't the first animal that comes to mind when you see Orisa, but there was reason to call her that back before her release.
Back before Orisa's proper reveal, when she was only teased via the existence of Efi and a few other official hints, there was a leak going around about a "spider tank" named "Anchora". The name sounds... vaguely like Orisa, but it comes together when you hear about how Orisa was designed on a gameplay level. Her role in the tank lineup was to be a contender to Reinhardt (at that point widely considered to be the only ""viable"" tank due to his constantly reliable barrier), specifically cited to be designed as an anchor for her team, with her static barrier and other abilities making her the best tank at holding a position. It's more than likely that "Anchora" was the functional placeholder name for Orisa before everything about her was finalized, and her design could've been more spider-esque than the more centaur-like design we have now, with the leak's inaccuracies being due to the info being from an earlier point in development.
The second "spider tank" is something that a fan wiki calls "Spider Tank" directly, and they're probably my favorite non-playable OW character.
Tumblr media
This omnic war machine is the most "when you see it, you can't unsee it" background entities in all of Overwatch. This guy's in so many places that they absolutely deserve their own post later, but I still wanna bring them up because they're the "spider tank" that survived the most into the final game.
The last one though is the visual that I had in my head the strongest when putting Widowmaker in the tank tier, and that's the star of this image, a piece of concept art shown around in OW's initial reveal days, though even then it was pretty outdated by what else was shown in cons and such.
Tumblr media
We see a lot heroes in a mostly final state: Reaper, Winston, and Genji look accurate to now, Mercy's weapon seems to be a little off but she's otherwise fine, Roadhog is GREEN, we can see a peek of what I think is Reaper's shotgun in the bottom right, and... hey, that's an interesting-looking entity in the middle, huh?
Don't worry, we can get a better look at her in this fantastic image shown around the same time.
Tumblr media
Listen, there's so much to talk about here that it absolutely warrants its own post, but I'll try to keep it topical to Spider Tanks. And uh... well, we get to see traces of THREE spider tank adjacent characters here! We got tall, neon, and screamy chilling in the back, Spider Tank (my beloved) on the far right, and shining bright red in the middle is Proto-Reinhardt. It's been said outright that an earlier concept for Reinhardt was that he'd be African, with his armor design reflecting that, so I think it's safe to assume that the big, armored individual see here is meant to be the conceptual predecessor for everyone's favorite hammer-swinging crusader. However, I think it's also fair to assume that the aesthetics of this early tank concept were split from the big armor guy concept, and would later come to fruition as the most playable spider tank in the present game, Orisa.
(again, this is just reminding me I need to make a compilation going over all the recurring prototype characters in Overwatch's concept art, it's so fun to see where the concepts for some of these characters have been over the years)
Absolutely MASSIVE tangent aside
Once again, very glad you picked up on what I was laying down with putting Widowmaker as a tank. I did not however plan out the abilities in advance, so absolute top-notch work on those, I'd say you got the concept perfectly with a set of Tank abilities based on the spider theme. There's maybe some room for iteration, but the whole thing adds up cohesively for a disruption-focused tank with above-average mobility and crowd control at the cost of damage output. My only alternative ideas would be to base things more directly on her existing kit, which you already kinda got down with Web Swing as a parallel to her existing grappling hook, though I'd trade Lunge as an extra movement ability for some kind of upgrade to Venom Mine to make it better at area denial, though that might make things cluttered considering she's also putting up Web Walls, and most heroes (besides I think exactly just Symmetra) don't have more than one "object" ability outside of their ultimate. But hey, maybe the upgraded venom mine could be one of the spider drones from that old spider leg hero art! justifying that tangent somehow!
But yeah, part of why I suggest the abilities be slightly more similar to her existing kit is because I like the idea of not just twisting the heroes to their new roles, but their existing abilities too. Like I mentioned in the initial post, my ideas for Support Tracer was that she still had Blink, but Recall would also let you pull a teammate with you to safety (like Life Grip but with time travel) and Pulse Bomb would be a similar kind of "throw a device for an AOE effect", but instead of a lethal explosion, it'd be a burst of recharging energy that instantly full heals allies and resets all their cooldowns to be recharged, also retaining its low ult cost. But to clarify, that's not a hard rule, just a fun little "bonus challenge" that I'm more than willing to bend if it'd make more sense.
But yeah! Very very glad you're having fun with ideas for this AU too, I'm gonna be sharing my own ideas and maybe possibly don't count on it some art for it when I get the time, but feel free to come up with and share more in the meantime!
@purplekoop
One of the role swaps in your tier quickly caught my curiosity: Widowmaker as a tank. She would have not been one of my first picks for tank. She’s a sniper. She’s rather skinny. She’s not well padded in the slightest. Making her a tank would be impossible. Which is exactly what makes this so fun. I quickly began brainstorming. Trying to wrap my head around how someone with her body type and play style could be a tank. Then, I had the idea of continuing her spider motif in a brand new exciting way.
First of all, there’s no reason for Widowmaker to be a sniper. The name Widowmaker came from having killed her husband in his sleep. I doubt she used a sniper rifle for that. So instead of being genetically altered to become a better sniper, she is modified in a different way.
Amelie Lacroix is given giant robotic spider legs.
They would attach around her torso. Completely enveloping her normal legs. She would have eight legs, not six. I hate it when they do that. (Although if we're being realistic Blizzard would only give her four). She would also have a rectangular, almost coffin-shaped, abdomen. The normal parts of her body could still be her usual outfit. She absolutely must keep her helmet. Her right arm is a gun, like Megaman. He left arm has a shining purple blade attached to it.
Her primary fire is still kinda a sniper shot. It's a hitscan with a very thin area, and you can't headshot with it. However, you can charge it (akin to Winston, Illari, or Symmetra), and once fully charged it afflicts poison on the hero hit. It's unleashed from the gun on her arm. It's called Bite.
To fully capture her spider side, Widowmaker is more focused on disruption than protection. Her secondary fire is Web Wall. Two pairs of her legs lift up and create a spiderweb wall right in front of Widowmaker. There's a little animation of her creating the web, so it doesn't create instantly. However, she has two charges of it. I don't the size of it, but I imagine it to be taller than Sigma's shield but not longer. More of a square shape. The properties of the web wall are my favorite. The web wall does not stop any projectiles or bullets. All damage thrown at the wall passes straight through it. However, enemies cannot pass through it. In fact, touching an enemy web wall applies the hindered status effect. The webs will have a timer for how long they stay up (similar to Ramattra). I'm also considering the walls ending early based on how many people touch them. Putting them on flank routes can be really effective. Tracer might be able to blink through them (to fuel the rivalry). Allies are not affected by the web wall. They can pass through as they please.
Widowmaker's primary ability is rather simple. Lunge has you dash forward a set distance. If you collide with an enemy, Widowmaker slashes them with her blade, inflicting poison.
Widowmaker's secondary ability is Web Swing. It functions similarly to Wrecking Ball's grappling hook. However, it deals much less damage and you don't really gain momentum. Any enemy you collide with does get afflicted with hindered.
Ensnare is her ultimate ability. A circular web bursts from her and covers the floor. All enemies in the circle are afflicted with poison and hindered as long as they remain inside the circle. The effect also briefly lasts after the enemy leaves.
Also, if we want to be funny, she can have a passive similar to Genji, Hanzo, and [third hero i don't like]'s wall climb. Widowmaker could very well have Wall Crawl as a passive.
I don't know how much health she should have or what type. But I would like her to have a faster walking speed than most tanks.
TLDR:
Let's really make Widowmaker a spider.

The first proper trailer for Sonic Prime came out yesterday, as I'm sure you've all heard. I've gotten several messages asking me my thoughts, so... here's some thoughts! Thoughts on how the show's looking, and a certain bat whose presence is somehow the biggest news to me.
First off? This looks phenomenal, visually speaking. I'm kind of in awe of how good the visuals in CGI cartoons are getting. The scenery looks great. The characters move so fluidly. Everything's beautifully lit. I could go on and on. I wish the in-engine game cutscenes had animation half this good.
I continue to be pleased with how slavishly faithful to the games the main universe is - to the point that they're saying this is, in fact, just set in the game universe. Yeah, we're all getting tired of Green Hill Zone, but we've never had a cartoon that was this faithful. The closest we got was Sonic X, which I like, but it's hard to look at any random episode about Sonic having to save the extensive human cast from another generic robot and say it really has the feel of the games. Seeing Sonic and co. fight some classic Badniks in a cartoon with (mostly) their normal designs feels special after all these years of never quite getting that.
That slavish faithfulness to the classic iconography also makes the differences with the multiverse stuff hit harder, and thank GOD they're finally showing some of that. This teaser is pitching it as a show about Sonic meeting alternate timeline versions of his friends who form an underground resistance against the Eggman Empire (funny how the franchise keeps finding itself back in Freedom Fighter territory), which is fun and all. Tall cyborg Amy! A version of Tails who can walk like a spider on a set of robotic kitsune tails! Hell yeah! But if the synopsis blurbs about a "multiverse" and "new worlds" and that pile of leaked concept art from a year and a half ago are anything to go off of, this is presumably only the first of multiple alternate worlds that we'll be seeing. I'm very excited to see more of them!
We also hear a little more from the new voice cast. Brian Drummond is kinda doing his own thing with Eggman. I like it. It sounds compatible with the usual Mike Pollock take without aping it 1:1. He seems maybe a little more sinister here, which fits what we've seen so far from this take on Eggman. And Deven Mack still sounds great as Sonic, although I kind of wonder if he's being instructed to sound like Roger since the delivery in what we've heard so far is pretty similar. I get that desire for consistency, but I hope he's able to inject a bit more of his own spin on Sonic in the full show, even if it's supposed to technically be the same Sonic as Roger's.
Meanwhile, the roles for the rest of the main voice cast have been confirmed elsewhere, and they mostly match up with what I expected because these casting choices just make perfect sense. I already know Shannon Chan-Kent, known primarily for playing Misa in Death Note and Pinkie Pie's singing voice (and Smolder) in MLP, is perfect casting for Amy. Ashleigh Ball's one brief line as Tails sounds a lot like her Rainbow Dash voice, but like... hey, it fits! I'm excited to hear more from her. And Knuckles... well, I don't know his VA as well and also he has no lines in this trailer.
But by now y'all know which characters I stan the most, and you know what I'm gonna be excited about. The big surprise here is the fact that Rouge is on the main cast. The main cast.
The cast posters revealed that she was in the show, which was big enough news, but then the trailer drops and she's on the damn team. Every hero team in a kids' show needs three boys and two girls, and this time they rounded out the group with Rouge. AND she's being voiced by Kazumi Evans, yet another MLP alum on this show - this time Rarity's singing voice and the voice of Adagio Dazzle in Equestria Girls. I don't even need to hear any lines, I know that's another perfect fit.
I'm just shocked. Rouge hasn't been in a TV series in almost two decades since she was kept out of Boom, robbing us of the "Rouge somehow ropes Team Sonic into doing a goofy heist with her" episode the world deserved. Ian's even said that he pitched some ideas for Boom Rouge after being asked to pitch more Boom-ified game characters, but it went nowhere. While she's continued to show up in the comics and (to a lesser extent) the games due to her fan favorite status, it's kind of felt like she was being swept under the rug. Fewer major story appearances than in the '00s, not much merch, it took them until the fifth Mario & Sonic game to make her playable. And she's probably seen as less broadly marketable as a mascot character because of... well, two big reasons.
And so, understandably, Rouge is here with a new outfit that covers those two big reasons up more than usual.
Tumblr media
Yeah as a Rouge fan, a person who's talked at length about the fanservice in Archie Sonic, and a sapphic furry artist, I can't avoid talking about this stuff lol
I mostly like the new outfit and think it was a smart call. We can have lots of nuanced discussions about objectification and sexual liberation and the fact that seeing some cleavage isn't gonna kill you and how being the flirty femme fatale is a core part of Rouge's character and whether that's objectifying or empowering and all the other things that get brought up every time a new Bayonetta game comes out. But at the end of the day their main audience is 8-year-olds, and because of that I really can't blame them for dressing Rouge slightly more modestly. I've always loved Rouge as a character the way she already is, but people (particularly non-fans, and also just... Sonic fans who aren't also furries lol) often write her off as "that weird bat lady with the tits that people are really horny for." Hopefully the writing will show non-comic readers that she's a genuinely fun character when used well as a foil to the rest of the cast, and hopefully her new outfit(s) will allow people to focus on that.
I do think something's a little off with the new outfit, though, even if I think it looks solid overall. Is it just that the heart motif is more abstract and less of a central focus here? That might be part of it. Maybe the suit just looks slightly overdesigned next to Team Sonic. Unsurprisingly I've also already seen multiple pieces of fanart giving this outfit a boob window, with one arguing that showing more of her skin tone on her torso gives the design better color balance, and... yeah, on that level I do kinda agree lol. Although I think a similar balance could be achieved just by having her upper arms be exposed or something. (Which is a feature on her bad timeline counterpart's outfit!) But, yeah, overall I do think I like it.
I also don't think they actually made her boobs smaller compared to most of her modern appearances despite the many, many, MANY claims to the contrary but I am not getting into that debate lol. Also she's literally still wearing a skintight catsuit and doing cool flying kicks you are not allowed to say they made her less hot
The fact that they're putting Rouge front and center has me VERY curious about her future prospects in the movie universe, though, given the particular projects currently in the works. To me, this makes it seem WAY more likely than it previously did. But who knows?
Uhhh anyway yeah the show looks good. I like pretty much everything we've seen so far. I like basically all of the previous Sonic cartoons except Underground to some extent, but if they stick the landing with this one then it seems like it'll pretty easily be the best one. I guess it's kinda lame that they made Sonic say "gotta go fast" in the trailer, but idk, it's a modern Sonic project, they gotta pay the obligatory lame meme toll. I am mostly fixated on Rouge because she's one of my favorite characters and her being on the main team is somehow the biggest curveball this show's previews have thrown so far, like seriously what.

random Usagi Chronicles tid-bits (I'll add more as i remember):
as mentioned in my previous timeline post, Neo Edo is a futuristic Edo-inspired city, powered by a mythical/sciency Ki-Stone
the city lights seem to kep on at all times (purple/purplish, like the Ki-Stone)
there are flying cars, refridgerators with AI, vending machines
hover cars, TRON-esque racing games, robots for different tasks
cameras, modern surgery....
no phones (sdfsdfsd sorry i just thought that was funny)
I'm guessing they just don't need phones cuz everyone lives in the city (and we haven't seen any other cities yet)
Usagi's the first rabbit Gen has seen in the city
Usagi and Kiyoko have the same bday (in the first ep)
Usagi states he is almost 16 in the opening scene of the show (and that's why he should be allowed to the city)
Usagi is 16 and definitely acts like a teen seeing a city for the first time
he sees a newsbotto and says "I've heard of these before"
Usagi plays in an arcade for the first time
Spot has never seen bubbles before that ep in s2 where Usagi buys him a bubble-blower
Usagi has a very low attention span (getting distracted by anything new, i.e. streets, games, food, signs)
Even though it's modern, the show still bases itself in many traditional japanese elements
i.e. - kimono and other similar clothes are worn left over right side
traditional japanese games are still popular in Neo Edo
edo-style japanese buildings still exist, even with modern additives
the show has a nice subtle message about letting nature rest from the city (turning off the lights eg light pollution)
Kitzune and Chizu are both orphans
apparently, so is Toshiko sort of (Gen's twin? sibling) who left for a life in the circus and other things before re-uniting with Gen during the 3rd ep of season 1
Gen and Toshiko separated as children after their parents and family were chased out of town due to fear
You can see Gen and Toshiko playing with a Gen and Tomoe Ame figures in their flashback in s1, the characters who Gen and Chizu are based from og Yojimbo series.
Gen is a germaphobe;
He spends a lot of time at the hospital, for stuff where he's just worried about something and thinks he has a symptom for;
at the same time, it seems he is just as much there to see the the Shiba-inu doctors, who raised him after his family fell apart (s1 e6)
Gen is also arachnophobic (he seems to be scared of most bugs, but is maybe semi-okay with crickets(s2 e5))
Kitsune grew up in the streets (I assume) while Chizu grew up in the Neko Ninja crew, a childhood without friends or any normalcy
farm boy Usagi absolutely hates farming
Tetsujin and Lady Fuwa used to date (for Fuwa, mostly to get the Ki-Stone scroll, which Tetsujin planted only because he knew - so neither was really dating for real?)
Usagi is pretty skilled with a sword, but sort of like an unrefined gem bc of his brashness and dis-respect.
Karasu-Tengu said the yo-yo is the only interesting thing about him but he's not very good with it yet
(edit nov 22) Auntie trained Usagi "for years" in the sword and other stuff
Auntie is a war veteran as seen by multiple elements in the show hinting at it - her ear and leg prosthetics, her experience with the sword (training Usagi enough that he has some raw skill), her words at Usagi ("the greatest master needs their sword the least"), her fight with Lady Fuwa
(OG post continued from Oct 25th)
Usagi is a nerd for Yokai and all things samurai and that's one reason he's still pretty good at fighting+knows enough info to help the team
that's all for now but sdfsdf hope to add more as I remember stuff
edit for nov 22nd (og post from Oct 25th):
On rewatch I also noticed that Chizu's left ear with the tear in it looks a bit like it could be from ear rings being torn out. I noticed this based on art director Khang Le's concept art, where Chizu has a white streak in her hair and also earrings) this could be anything though, as this is a common injury on real-life cats and she also has it in her first flashback scene (s1 e4)
Usagi is actually pretty good at noticing small details/bigger picture stuff, also at fight coordination. I noticed the first time but even moreso on rewatches:
1st ep he notices a small crevice/hole in the mogura tunnel's ceiling where he jammed his sword to create a small tunnel slide to escape the mogura gang
for the s1 finale, he has trained more with Karasu-Tengu, but when fighting in the dark with the Bat Crew later on, he followed Chikabuma's instructions on fight moves flawlessly, based on nothing more than the latter quickly throwing out what to do in an exact way
he seems to come up with battle-saving plans a lot, and doesn't even boost his ego with that knowledge
Usagi is probably really proficient at picking up other weapons too! He briefly fights and doesn't actually take that much time to take a liking to his yoyo. On that note....
Usagi's yoyo has saved him/been useful on more than one occasion, not just as a weapon
he can block attacks via the chain/string of the yoyo
it can sense Yokai
when Usagi used it to spiderman out of a fight, then to stop a warbotto from rampaging by tripping it via the chain
saved Kagehito from disappearing by putting him back in the Ki-Stone to recuperate
I'm sure I'm forgetting something else here
when Usagi and Kagehito went into a coma and almost got stuck in the prison orb at the tail end of s2
it's gotten broken once (the string/chain was broken at the end of s1) and Usagi is heartbroken over it (+ disappointed at himself)
Gave Usagi the access to the Ki-Stone's extra power boost, letting Usagi ascend the heavens and transform into a giant samurai-armored spirit-version of himself (think, like the susanoo avatar in Naruto, or like a spirit-mech)
the Ki-Stone can repair and give out new Kaikishi weapons
at the start of s2, it chooses Gen, Kitsune and Chizu as it's new Kaikishi warriors (closing the door on a comically sad-about-it Usagi, who still wanted a 2nd sword)
we haven't seen yet what the other Kaikishi weapons special abilities are (Usagi's yoyo is so far the only one able to capture and control/move the various Yokai in the series)
all of the mystic weapons can still interact with ghosts/apparitions, so that's probably why the team is careful not to hit Tetsujin with them while fights happen in the temple
possibly the secondary abilities are the secondary weapon transformations and abilities they show in some of the new episodes:
Kitsune can summon her tessen at will, not having to carry them
Gen change the size and form of his war clubs by merging them into one big kanabo
Chizu's bow is collapsible and she can shoot fire arrows and homing arrows with them (it seems she can materialize whatever arrow she needs at a moment)
The Ki-Stone couldn't have held in the Yokai for more than it did, so it was actually good that Usagi accidentally released all the Yokai (s2 e7, "Willow Branch", stated by O-Dokuro)
little visual references like this (prob not og Kitsune?)
Tumblr media
Kitsune's little sister Kiyoko is not so little in this animated adaptation (in the comics she is a smaller fox, in this series she is a big robot)
Gen's sister Toshiko doesn't like visiting the hospital, but does like hiding out at the arcade toilets for some reason
it's unknown what happened to the criminal that Gen was bounty-hunting in the first episode, but in a later s1 episode, he is seen laughing and clapping with the rest of the crowd, but is then approached menacingly by the Shiba-Inu doctors (this is bothering me to no end bc I can't seem to get the inside joke, that might be a cultural difference? I guess we'll never know)
For an apparition on "another plane of existence" (we know you're a ghost Tetsujin), Tetsujin is pretty good at building all sorts of mechanical stuff
Tetsuji also made the prosthetic horn gen receives in ep 4 and we can assume that builds the rest of his horns too.
I'll post more as I rewatch the series :D (end edit 22.11.2022)

Jimmy’s 4th Anniversary
It’s been four years since I released Jimmy and the Pulsating Mass.  I don’t have much to share about Jimmy; I’ve already talked at length about it numerous times.  It will always be my first big commercial release, the game that started my career in game dev, and will always occupy a big part of my heart.  But, I wanted to use this time to talk about my new game, which I hope to have an official announcement about soon.
I just posted a bunch of stuff on Twitter, and I’m going to share that here for the people who don’t have a Twitter, but I’m going to share a few more thoughts on my upcoming project since, frankly, I just like tumblr’s interface way better.
So, first off, I wanted to share some concept art:
Tumblr media
Her name is Shear, and she’s one of four main characters from the game.  At the start of the game, you get to choose between one of the four main protagonists.  When you finish their story, you get to choose another character and experience their story.  Your time playing each character’s story matters, meaning you’ll open up areas on one game that you might explore on another, or you might level up characters that can be used on another protagonist’s game.  There’s are basically four full-length RPGs here, so there’s a lot of meat on the bone (and that’s why development’s taking so damn long)!
Tumblr media
This is Capella, another of the four main protagonists.  In addition to these four characters, there are also close to 40 different mercenaries that can join your party, each with their own motivations and biases.  They’ll react to different moments in the story differently.  This doesn’t just mean unique dialogue; the characters might leave your party if they disagree with you, they might get paid by adversaries to fight against you, they’ll have moments of growth that both affect them from a writing perspective and mechanical perspective, and so on.
Tumblr media
This character, Pox the Vile, is going to be one of the two playable main characters that will be in the demo.  Each of the character’s stories are fully unique and occur mostly in unique parts of the world.  There’s going to be a huge, strange, insectoid world to explore.
Tumblr media
This is the last of the main characters: Phlegm.  All of this concept art was done by Cubesona (Twitter: https://twitter.com/Cubesona).  He’s one of the two artists I’ve hired for this project.  Right now, he’s handling both the design and the pixel art in the game (the other artist is handling animations).  I’m really looking forward to sharing some in-game footage, but I want to wait until I have a Steam page up so that people will be able to wishlist it whenever I post about it.
Anyway, I think that’s about all I’m going to share for now.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to share more about this project in the next few months, including an official announcement, trailer, demo, and kickstarter.  Jimmy was a personal game that I’m very proud of, but, with this game, I want to show what I can do with that same amount of passion and an actual budget.  Stay tuned for more announcements in the near future.  This game’s really going to be special!

More miscellaneous observations, mostly from Corruption.
Prime etc.
Since there may be Switch remasters of these games on the way, I’d like to clarify that this blog is not an accurate representation of how these games look on console.
Tumblr media
For one, I do bump up the resolution, which makes smaller details much clearer. (The base textures are unchanged, though I believe there’s a fanmade HD texture pack for Prime. Which admittedly could kind of use it.)
Tumblr media
I also often tweak the lighting in post - usually brightness/contrast, sometimes white balance. (On top of that, I turned down bloom by 10% on Corruption, because it’s a bit much.) This is about as much I would edit a photograph which I took of real life.
Finally... Keep in mind that these games were originally meant to be played on a component video output hooked up to a CRT, which (as you may or may not know from personal experience) is a very fuzzy experience.
That being said, all I’m doing is adding extra polish - Prime games look decent under any condition. (My actual play setup is trash...) So these remasters, provided they exist, have a lot to live up to.
Moving on.
Tumblr media
This is what it looks like inside the morph ball. So... now you know...?
Tumblr media
Activating two cutscenes at once means they play simultaneously.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It seems Gliders were originally going to be used as platforms at some point. It is very difficult to get on top of one without noclip, but as you might hope, Samus can totally ride on them. Whee!
Tumblr media
There’s no issues with sliding off or anything, either - you’re clearly meant to be able to stand on top. (Wish the same was true for my sad attempts to boost onto Quadraxis’ flying head without stunning it first - water off a duck.)
Tumblr media
Apparently there’s even an unused scan image depicting this exact scenario, which more or less confirms it.
This applies to some midsize harmless flying enemies in the rest of the main trilogy as well, specifically the drones in Sanctuary and the cargo carriers in Skytown, both of which speedrunners ride to get out of bounds. Perhaps they’re using the same code...? Or maybe those are programmed like “crates that move” and the fact that they’re also flying platforms is a coincidence, who knows. It’s all platforms, always has been.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Different game entirely, but bear with me. These statues in front of Elun reminded me of this statue in Prime 1, specifically with the robes/armor. Might be a coincidence, though, especially since the main series basically ignores Prime.
Echoes
I love Echoes, but I don’t have much to say about it this time.
Tumblr media
Spoopy.
Tumblr media
The regular human corpses are about the same size as Samus, but when Ing-possessed they get... bigger. (Morph Ball is about half her height - when unmorphing, she comes up to the armpit.) So that’s weird and kind of gross to think about!
Corruption
The MPT version of Corruption seems to have significantly better load times than the Wii release, though it takes longer to boot up at the start.
Tumblr media
The Pirate Phazon storage that Dark Samus reconstitutes herself in during the opening cutscene (left - sorry for terrible angle, it’s hard to fight the cutscene camera) isn’t one of a kind. It’s the same room model as the Phazon storage/processing room that you pick up X-Ray Visor in much later (right).
...gonna chuck that one on the right in the queue, actually...
Tumblr media
It’s really impossible to overstate just how tiny humans* are in the Metroid universe, compared to almost every other species. Other humanoid species are generally at least as tall as Ghor. So if you’re looking for an in-universe explanation for all these conveniently morph-ball sized vents... Uh, I guess those are still pretty small for most species.
*or, in this case, Gandrayda badly impersonating a human - though she’s the exception, being about the same size as Samus anyway. I wouldn’t be surprised if they use the same model.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Gandrayda. This isn’t a new discovery, but I figure it’s worth mentioning that there’s some otherwise unreleased concept art in her body texture. Seems someone was using it to colorpick...
Tumblr media
Feeding my statuary addiction with these busts on Bryyo Fire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This save room in Skytown has a mysterious solar system model. My pet theory is that it’s home. Like, the lore on the nearby Cyrlic tree is that this Chozo tribe bioengineered it and brings it from place to place (you also see this exact species on Tallon IV). So maybe if that tree is from home, this model is depicting home? I don’t know.
There are a lot of assumptions there and an environment artist probably just stuck it there because it looks cool. Just kidding! This is approximately canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While it seems odd that the HUD is a 3D element in the world, it does let it interact with lighting, like this orange glow. It’s subtle, but a nice touch.
...now that I know you can make it invisible I’m turning it off though... Invulnerability cheat doesn’t work in this game, so whatever happens happens I guess!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Quick look at the dying parasite queens in the Skytown Xenoresearch Facility elevator wall. Which is... You know. A completely normal place to store your dying specimens.
Tumblr media
If you’ve ever wondered where exactly in Samus’ body her Phazon growth is located, wonder no longer: it is located above whatever Leviathan seed she happens to be in! (In this case, Bryyo. Blue things on the walls.) Hope that helps. 😔
Tumblr media
In the drop cutscene, two Spire pods are loaded at the same time, though you’d never see them both with a normal angle.
Tumblr media
You might have to take my word for this, but the text in the biohazard scan is once again basically keysmashing. All homebar too, very classical. There’s one word on here, “extra”. And some numbers, 123123, @@@, etc.
Tumblr media
Finally. (deep sigh) Shoutouts to the artist at Retro who decided to give the Reptilicus about 6 polygons of lizard bulge. Maybe they can hang with the artist at Mercury Steam who kept giving a bunch of ZDR critters detailed bolas.

The Thrilling Saga of Connie paying real life money for the Worst Sonic TV Show
Let’s begin with the simple fact that me and my sister, @birdsareblooming “Cori”, have both been hyperfixating on Sonic the Hedgehog since last March. During this hyperfixation, I was on Sonic Wiki to copy-paste song lyrics onto my stolen mp3s, and I called my sister in and pointed at the template at the bottom.
“What is this Sonic Underground thing?” I asked. “It has one shit billion songs.”
So we clicked on the page to read about it, and each sentence we read was a punch in the gut and this quickly became the funniest thing we’d ever read. Highlights include:
It looks like this:
Tumblr media
“Sonic[...] is known to be a prince”
Sonic has two siblings who actually have good characterization but their names are literally just Sonia and Manic. Like. Sonic split into two names. jesus christ
Also Sonic and his siblings all share a voice actor. honestly Jaleel White does his best with it but
“The three siblings possess enchanted medallions that transform not only into musical instruments, but also into weapons.”
“Some fans consider Sonia to be a clone of Amy Rose, minus the attraction Amy feels for Sonic.” YEAH I SURE HOPE IT DOES
“Manic is the most often captured of the siblings” himbo king
Knuckles shows up, and for the first, like, two sentences his description is very similar to the game, and then you get immediately pulverized by “He has a pet Dinosaur called Chomps.”
Literally so many sentences on Sonic Wiki are lowkey salty about this show. The page features lines such as “Sonic Underground bears little relation to the often complex Sonic universe (including previous animated series, as well as Sonic comics and games), and shares only three established characters” and “many of the characters in the Freedom Fighter group that were in Sonic the Hedgehog are completely left out (including Tails).”
“The show met with mostly negative reviews.”
*checks air dates* It only lasted two goddamn months
So after seeing this we thought it was the funniest thing and we showed our older sister, @patema-introverted “North.” To our surprise, our at the time “knew nothing about this sonic bullshit” sister recognized the show. Turns out she’d seen trailers for it as a child and that was her sole exposure to Sonic canon.
We were in quarantine at the time, so we ended up finding it on YouTube and binge-watching it all together as a sibling bonding activity. It was just as hilarious as we thought it would be- some stuff was legitimately good, like the sibling dialogue for instance, but good lord were the character designs ugly, the plot all over the place, and pretty much every song, um, not great. Also there was one episode that we skipped because it got, um, I think “stereotypical” is the nicest word I can use here.
But the point is, we had a jolly good time watching it, and afterwards we binged all the other Sonic shows and bonded as a family.
After quarantine, North and I go back to college. My roommate gets groceries at Walmart, while I get them elsewhere, so while she and North collect food I wander the DVD aisle to look at the cool movies and also dumpster-dive in the bargain bin for Cats (2019). I am also short as fuck, so the top shelf of movies I cannot see, I can only read the labels.
So one day I was browsing the DVDs, and glancing over at the labels for the top shelf. I read over the final one before the shelves end.
And then I stop, do a double take, and have a heart attack, because there is a label that reads “SONIC UNDERGROUND $3.74″
Tumblr media
I immediately climb the shelf but there aren’t any DVDs atop the shelf. However, the label is still there. I excitedly tell my sister and roommates, freak out with them a bit, and then give myself a mission statement:
I will buy the $4 Sonic Underground DVD from Walmart
I did not want it as a gift, I did not want to find it online. I wanted to walk into a store, pick up the Worst Sonic Show on DVD, walk it straight to the checkout, and in front of the cashier and God, pay for it with my own money. I did not care if it was the whole series or two episodes; I needed to do this for my own serotonin.
We would go to Walmart about once a week. Every time, I would go to the DVD aisle, and go right to the end of the shelves. I would stare at the label SONIC UNDERGROUND $3.74 and empty space above it and wonder who the fuck was buying this other than me. I would occasionally ask employees if they had any copies in storage. I would build a shrine to Manic in my room. Okay, no I didn’t, but only because my RA would have murdered me.
Christmas break comes, and we have to go home. We have a nice Christmas, and Cori and I infodump at each other about how we would make Sonic Underground a good show (note: we’re both galaxy braining) and also play Bendy and the Ink Machine. Fun times.
When we finally get back to College, it’s late January- long story short we have a very long winter break. My roommate who gets food at Walmart got food without us the first week cause she showed up first, so we take her out to Walmart the first time in the year of our lord 2021 on January 29.
I wander the Valentine’s aisle, immediately grabbing a sequin puppy. I go to the DVDs and see Animaniacs Season One, also grab that.
And then.
There it is.
The Holy Grail.
Above the label SONIC UNDERGROUND $3.74, is one DVD left.
Tumblr media
Already I am losing my mind. It’s roughly seven hours of episodes- I couldn’t find an episode list, but I think that’s half the show, for $4! And the cover is amazing.
That’s a png of Sonic from Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993) with a medallion badly photoshopped over it. The medallion is too small.
Manic is shoved into the corner. He doesn’t have his medallion at all.
Sonia isn’t even pictured on the front cover, probably because they realized she was the worst designed of the bunch. I’m not ragging on her though, because she’s still one of the better designed characters of the show. Those background characters make me cry
So you bet your ass I finally paid my hard-earned $4 for this shit. Upon getting home, I discovered that there was even wilder shit with this DVD than I thought.
For starters: the bonus features listed are as follows:
Tumblr media
Original Concept Art - did not expect that these character designs were the final draft
Storyboard-to-screen - did not expect they bothered to storyboard this
Music Video Jukebox - that’s cute, they thought we liked the music
Interviews with original screenwriter & executive producer - I fully expect the only questions to be “why.”
On the left of this list are screenshots from the show, where people can finally see Sonia, who we Know™ is a girl because she is pink and has hair and also an actual body shape instead of just circles like her brothers.
Tumblr media
But wait... what’s that in the lefthand corner?
Tumblr media
That looks like some kind of robot. But it’s not a robot from Sonic Underground! That didn’t appear once. Why is it here?
The mystery continues upon opening the DVD case: inside are advertisements for other collections, including other Sonic DVDs: two volumes of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog (1993) and the final episodes of Sonic the Hedgehog “SatAM” (1993)
Tumblr media
First of all, the first volume of AOSTH has the exact same PNG of Sonic as the Underground Volume 1. Not even trying to hide it. But second... the second volume of AOSTH also has this robot on its cover.
And THIS ROBOT IS ALSO DECORATING THE THIRD DISC IN THE SET?
Tumblr media
So you may be asking, who is this robot? Is it from AOSTH or Underground?
IT’S FROM FUCKING SATAM. The one show that doesn’t have it decorating the DVD covers.
Tumblr media
Also, not only is it from SatAM, it only appears in one fucking episode. Not a major character! AND IT HAS A DIFFERENT DESIGN ON THE PROMO ART, WITH HAIR AND FANGS.
Why is it showing up everywhere? What is going on?
I have not yet had the opportunity to watch this glorious piece of animation, but I am so glad at the confusion I have felt upon receiving it.
But before I go, I must share with you the best part of this DVD purchase. And it was flipping to the back, scanning the details, and discovering the exact runtime of the episode collection.
Guys, gals, and enby pals, friends and enemies, Nintendo and Sega, the first Volume of Sonic Underground has a runtime of...
Tumblr media
420 MINUTES.
Tumblr media
Maybe I’m wrong and this IS the best Sonic show.

Aerith and Tifa as Sephiroth’s Foils
There are a lot of moving pieces to Final Fantasy 7--something that has historically contributed to its infamous reputation of being confusing. But one consistent thematic pattern that FF7 utilizes is duality. Life and death. Meetings and partings. Loneliness and togetherness. Many of the main themes presented in FF7 fall into this same format. Even the characters can be considered dualities in and of themselves. One of the most obvious dualities in the game is that of Aerith and Sephiroth. However, in varying degrees, all of the main characters are in some way antithetical to Sephiroth.
Like in many other classic hero vs. villain tales, you’d think that Cloud is the perfect foil to Sephiroth--after all, they’re at odds, so it would make sense that they’d be opposites. However, what makes Cloud and Sephiroth’s conflict so fascinating is that they actually have a good amount in common. Both Cloud and Sephiroth struggle with their identities. They also experienced trauma and loneliness in the past, and tended to isolate themselves from others. It’s this commonality that actually makes them compelling rivals, as Cloud not only has to battle Sephiroth, but also the aspects of Sephiroth that Cloud himself struggles with.
The real foils of Sephiroth are Aerith and Tifa. While there is some debate as to whether Aerith or Tifa is the real heroine of FF7 (mostly spear-headed by weird LTD-pushers), the big-brained answer is that they’re both the heroines. This is evident in concept art from an older FF7 Ultimania, pictured below:
Tumblr media
As you can see, the concept for the story’s heroine started out as a hybrid of Tifa and Aerith. The character’s design resembles Tifa, and the name below the sketch reads “ティファ”, or Tifa. However, the character’s role was very different. She was intended to be both the childhood friend of Cloud Strife and a Cetra, the sister of Sephiroth (who originally looked more like Vincent). Eventually, the idea to kill off one of the main characters was introduced, and the role of the heroine was split in two: the Cetra, Aerith, and the childhood friend, Tifa. There is some evidence of the original concept still present in the series; Tifa’s iconic red eyes match Vincent’s, because originally, the two characters were designed to be siblings before eventually going to separate roles.
Based on this evidence, it would seem logical that both Aerith and Tifa retained their dualities with Sephiroth. And, indeed, even in the final product, both characters provide a foil for Sephiroth to balance the scales.
To exemplify the dynamic that Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Sephiroth have with one another, I’ve drawn a (crude) spectrum:
Tumblr media
Obviously, Aerith and Tifa play different roles and have different importance to the story. Aerith’s role is more “big picture”, so to speak. She is responsible for the Planet and for protecting it from Sephiroth after discovering his plans to destroy it. Tifa’s role is more fine-tuned and detailed. She is the rock and the only stable element of the Nibelheim story, a key part of Cloud, Zack, and Sephiroth’s backstories. To understand how each of them foils Sephiroth, we have to look at them individually and analyze how they interact with both Sephiroth and Cloud.
Part I: Aerith as Sephiroth’s Foil
As stated above, Aerith’s role as foil is a little more obvious. Sephiroth and Aerith are both “Cetra”--or, at the very least, they both claim to be. For Sephiroth, his identity as a Cetra is tied to his belief that Jenova, his “mother”, was a Cetra who was betrayed by humanity when humans left the traditional Cetra nomadic lifestyle in order to colonize the land and the Planet.
However, Jenova was not a Cetra at all--she was actually a “calamity from the skies” that crashed down and created the Northern Crater two thousand years before the events of FF7. After encountering the Cetra, the creature known as Jenova began infecting and killing the Cetra one by one. These killings only stopped when the Cetra banded together to seal Jenova in the Northern Crater; but, by the time it was done, the Cetra were dying off.
So how did Jenova become known as a Cetra? That seems like more than a clerical error to me. It was actually Aerith’s father, Professor Gast, who uncovered Jenova from the Northern Crater and mistakenly identified her as a Cetra. The Shinra Corporation, desperate to find the Cetra’s “Promised Land” thinking that it would be rich in Mako energy, enlisted the professor to find a way to create a Cetra from a human specimen. Using the cells extracted from Jenova, Sephiroth was created, and after reading Shinra’s archives, he discovered his relationship to Jenova and embraced his identity as “Cetra”.
Aerith, on the other hand, really is a Cetra. Her mother, Ifalna, was the last Cetra--making Aerith, by relation, half-Cetra. Her connection to the Cetra race is real, unlike Sephiroth’s.
This give her declaration in the final chapter of FF7 Remake all the more important:
Tumblr media
There’s a duality between Aerith and Sephiroth in truth versus lies. Aerith’s heritage as a Cetra is founded in truth. She is connected to the Planet in a way that is real. She is a Cetra, in covenant with the Planet to protect it that was passed down to her by her mother. In contrast, Sephiroth’s claims to be a Cetra are lies--whether he’s aware of it or not. Jenova, Sephiroth’s “mother”, is not a Cetra. She is not even from the Planet, but rather from somewhere beyond it. Jenova acted as a parasite of the Planet and is actually responsible for sending it into chaos and draining it of its life. He has no real obligation to protect the Planet, and he is not truly connected to it the way that Aerith is.
Aerith and Sephiroth also represent the original duality between the Cetra and Jenova, with both parties continuing to be at odds with one another even two thousand years later.
Tying in a more overarching FF7 theme, Aerith and Sephiroth also personify the duality of life and death, respectively. With Aerith, her “domain” of sorts, the Sector 5 church, is bursting with life. It is the only place in Midgar where flowers will grow. Even gameplay-wise, she is a healer, and is constantly giving life to other characters in the party. Sephiroth, on the other hand, only destroys. He set fire to Nibelheim and killed the townspeople, including Cloud’s mother and Tifa’s father. Cloud even notes his strength while recounting his version of the events in Nibelheim.
Cloud: “Sephiroth's strength is unreal. He is far stronger in reality than any story you might have heard about him.”
Tumblr media
Therefore, Aerith and Sephiroth represent two different dualities: life versus death, and truth versus lies.
Part II: Tifa as Sephiroth’s Foil
Tifa’s role as foil to Sephiroth is more understated but nevertheless important, especially in the latter half of the story. Tifa, Cloud, and Sephiroth are the only survivors of the Nibelheim incident, wherein Sephiroth burned the town of Nibelheim to the ground and killed the townspeople after discovering his “Cetra” heritage. However, Cloud’s memories are clouded due to his trauma and the Mako poisoning he endured during the five-year gap between the Nibelheim incident and the start of FF7; and Sephiroth purposefully twists the truth in order to weaken Cloud’s already-fragile mental state. Therefore, the only one who can decipher what’s true and what’s not is Tifa.
Like Aerith, Tifa also represents the truth, while Sephiroth represents lies and deceit. This is very evident in this scene that takes place in the Northern Crater, and again in a scene during Tifa’s journey into Cloud’s mind. In the Northern Crater, Sephiroth tries to convince Cloud that he was never real, and that all of his childhood memories, even the ones he shared with Tifa, were fabricated.
Sephiroth: “You are just a puppet... You have no heart... and cannot feel any pain... How can there be any meaning in the memory of such a being? What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion. [...] Five years ago you were... constructed by Hojo, piece by piece, right after Nibelheim was burnt. A puppet made up of vibrant Jenova cells, her knowledge, and the power of Mako. An incomplete Sephiroth-clone. Not even given a number. ...That is your reality.”
Sephiroth, at first, succeeds in convincing Cloud that he is not the “real” Cloud but rather someone who never existed, who never grew up in Nibelheim, and who clung on to fake memories as a means to cope with that fact. However, later in the Lifestream, Tifa expresses a different sentiment:
Tifa: “Sephiroth once said... Cloud made up his memories by listening to my stories... Did you imagine this sky? No, you remembered it. That night the stars were gorgeous. It was just Cloud and I. We talked at the well... That's why I continued to believe that you were the real Cloud. I still believe you're the Cloud from Nibelheim...”
By reminding Cloud of a memory they both share--a true memory--she is able to provide a solid ground, wherein Cloud can begin to rebuild his true self after falling for Sephiroth’s deception.
Obviously, Tifa’s relationship with the truth is complicated, and she herself suffers from her own self doubt throughout the story. But in this defining moment, Tifa finally realizes without a doubt what the truth is, and together both Cloud and Tifa are able to reconstruct what really happened in Nibelheim and solve the mystery once and for all.
Tumblr media
But this duality isn’t simply about truth versus lies. It’s also about hope versus despair. In deceiving Cloud, Sephiroth strips him of all his hope. Cloud is filled with such fundamental despair that he can’t see the truth and believe that he is indeed an experiment created by Hojo. Tifa, in contrast, provides him with hope when she affirms his memories with her own. Separately, Tifa’s resolve to continue the team’s journey without Cloud is another example of her hope in the face of Sephiroth’s despair.
The idea of hope versus despair in Sephiroth and Tifa is exemplified in Kingdom Hearts (although KH is not canonically related to FF7, I think it’s a neat little call back):
Tumblr media
Tifa: “Cloud, you can have my light.”
In Kingdom Hearts II, Sephiroth represents Cloud’s darkness, while Tifa represents Cloud’s light. This is a similar dichotomy to truth versus lies, metaphorically, where Sephiroth is “casting shadows” on the truth, and Tifa is “shedding light” on what really happened. (Okay, sorry for the puns!)
Another duality that Tifa and Sephiroth represent is the dual meaning of reunion in the context of FF7. It’s common knowledge among FFVII fans at this point, but to everyone who’s playing for the first time or who has recently picked up the franchise and not gotten all caught up yet, Sephiroth talks a lot about “the Reunion”.  Like, a lot.  Sephiroth’s “reunion” is a reference to the Reunion Theory, a scientific theory posited by Professor Hojo that states that Jenova’s cells--once separated from their host, i.e. Jenova--will seek out the main body.  This makes everyone who has ever been injected with Jenova’s cells essentially part of a massive Jenova hive mind, with the primary goal to eventually reunite with Jenova.
Obviously, this is a bad thing for Cloud, who was exposed to Jenova cells and is thus connected to Sephiroth.
However, Cloud and Tifa also have a reunion at the beginning of the story--a reunion between friends who haven’t seen each other in a long time. Unlike Sephiroth’s reunion, this is a positive thing. Cloud and Tifa, on multiple occasions, discuss “meeting again” and “finding each other” after so many years apart. Even after they reconstruct Cloud’s memories, he says:
Cloud: “Yeah...... Tifa...... We finally...... meet again......”
Sephiroth’s reunion with Cloud leads him astray from the path; Tifa’s reunion with Cloud sets thing right again. One reunion destroys Cloud’s perception of what’s real, and the other helps him to find the truth once again. Reunion changes meaning with Sephiroth and Tifa, and these opposing definitions of what “reunion” is make Tifa and Sephiroth perfect foils.
Part III: Final Thoughts
Part of what makes Sephiroth such a compelling villain are the striking similarities he shares with the protagonist Cloud Strife. In the original storyboard for FF7, Tifa and Aerith shared a role as the main heroine and the perfect foil for Sephiroth. But even after the role was separated into two distinct characters, the characteristics that made each one of them a foil to Sephiroth remained. For unique reasons, they balance the scales, providing an anchor of “good” to counteract the badness of the story’s main antagonist.
That’s all I have to say about it! I’ve been thinking a lot about Tifa and Aerith’s unique roles in the story as deuteragonists, or dual heroines, and how they both represent antitheses to Sephiroth. I figured I share my thoughts!

Attention:
I shall do my best to tag all Dragon Age: The Veilguard posts as "veilguard spoilers" for those who wish to block any info related to the game. If I miss one, feel free to let me know and I'll tag it. You have been warned.
Reprisals
So it occurs to me I’ve never actually created a promo post for my ongoing fic of Theresa Trevelyan, my Inquisitor OC. So here goes!
Reprisals is about lies. But it’s also about the truth. In very much the same way a shadow comes from light. The Chantry has told many lies. Theresa Trevelyan is merely one of them. They called her a heretic first, then a savior, then a prophet. She rejects the myth they've made of her life and her suffering. But more than this, she resents their erasure of the truth behind her rise to power. You think you know the story of the Herald of Andraste? Now you will hear the truth. With a little help from Thedas's favorite serial author, of course.
Set within a frame narrative of Theresa telling her story to Varric, who is writing it all down with the intent that the world will finally know the real person behind the stories. Reprisals is about lies and truth, yes. But it’s also about being seen. About learning to see ourselves, to look inward and find our own truths. About relearning who we are after the pain - not because of it or in spite of it, but simply after it.
This project started simply as a desire to get back into the writing groove after a long hiatus by documenting my headcanon story of DAI. And it kind of snowballed from there lol. You will see my writing change as it goes along, as I grow more comfortable with both Theresa’s character and my own voice. I hope if you choose to engage you will enjoy the journey as much as I am!
Reprisals, main series
Tumblr media
Book One: The Rise - Begins with the game’s beginning, up through their arrival at Skyhold and the naming of Theresa as Inquisitor
Tumblr media
Book Two: The Reign  - Continues on from where The Rise left off, meant to go up through the end of the base game’s events. Currently WIP.
Tumblr media
Book Three: The Revelation - Has yet to be written. Is meant to cover the events between the end of the base game up through Trespasser.
While Time Remains
Currently WIP, post-Trespasser series. Theresa and Cullen begin their new lives after the events of Trespasser. A multi-chapter series meant to bridge the gap between DAI and DAD. Mostly focusing on the domestic lives of Theresa and Cullen, but with some tidbits of angst, smut, child rearing, action, and espionage thrown in. There are at least four planned arcs, and a planned end.
Tumblr media
’Til Winter’s End - The first arc for WTR. After the events of the Exalted Council, Theresa feels adrift. No Anchor, no Inquisition, no home, and no left arm. What she does have are two clear points of reference. The first is her steadfast determination to stop Solas from enacting his plan to destroy the world. The second is in her husband, Cullen. At his suggestion, they spend their honeymoon in South Reach with his family for a long-awaited reunion, where Theresa begins to recuperate. But when all the bustle of duty and danger is gone, she is left with only herself, and has to relearn who that is.
Tumblr media
The Black City - WIP, Picks up where TWE left off. Kirkwall is known as the “City of Chains”. Its jet black walls feel like an appropriate backdrop for a site whose history is filled with dark and bloody deeds. It is also where Theresa and Cullen have decided to make their new home, now that the Inquisition has been disbanded. Together with Cullen’s youngest sister, Rosalie – an apostate and now Theresa’s pupil – and their mabari Cal, they make a valiant attempt at settling down and starting fresh. But the past will not stay quiet, and unresolved hurts begin to fester, spreading their corruption into the present, and possibly poisoning any future they hope to build. (fic banner created using concept art for Kirkwall, commissioned art by neonteeth with permission, and flycam shot found here)
Side stories set within the same canon
Swept Away: Set post-Trespasser, with Josephine Montilyet and Isabela as the main characters, with small tidbits of Theresa’s world state peppered into the background as passing mentions only. If you like Pirates of the Caribbean and Pride and Prejudice, and ever wondered what a story that combined the two would look like, then look no more! Josie/Isabela is a rare pair that I deeply love and think it deserves more attention.
350: A series of drabbles about various characters and moments within the DAI storyline, each one exactly 350 words. This was a personal challenge for me to help fix my at times overly-verbose writing.
Seeker, It’s Cold Outside: Varric/Cassandra, trapped in a cave during a snow storm. No smut, just fluff and some humor, with some very strong hints at shipping. And vitriolic banter, because who’re we kidding it’s the whole appeal of this pairing.
Fools (or, Truth and Lies): Varric/Cassandra. If you read the above story and thought, “okay but do they bang?”, this fic is the answer. (spoilers, the answer is YES).
The Catch: Theresa/the Iron Bull, set after Haven’s fall, during their time trapped in the mountains before reaching Skyhold. FWB. Smut as hurt/comfort. Some light D/s and sex-in-a-tent kinkiness.
An Evening In: Cullen/Theresa. Set sometime during Book Three: The Revelation. The Inquisitor's latest excursion has had to be delayed due to an impending winter storm. With forward progress stalled, Cullen suggests they take the chance to comb through some much-neglected paperwork whilst secluding themselves in her quarters. This unexpected gift of extra time together leads to an unexpected revelation for Cullen.
Just Missing You: Cullen/Theresa. The Inquisitor finally returns after an extended journey, eager to reunite with her love, but she and Cullen seem to keep just missing each other, pulled apart as they are by the endless tasks of Skyhold.
Morningside: Cullen/Theresa. Porn with feelings. Theresa awakens after recovering from a serious injury, and is in the mood. Luckily, Cullen is right there. Mostly some light-hearted sexy fun, with a bit of character and relationship development thrown in as extra toppings.
Fluffuary: Exactly what it says on the tin. This is where I post all my filled Fluffuary prompts that are set within the Reprisals world state.
Blood in my mouth, and the bitterness in goodbye: f!Warden Cousland/Leliana. Leliana-focused story, takes place in between Origins and Awakening. Sort of a prologue for her story in Reprisals.
Fiercely Perish: You want Die Hard in Thedas? I got your Die Hard in Thedas! Sort of a crack fic, but also just a fun time.
Theresa Trevelyan in other stories
The Storm Within: Part of DAFF server’s OC exchange event, written by @lalaenwrites. Theresa meets a Dalish Keeper with whom she seemingly has nothing at all in common... until they find common ground.
Clearing the Field: Another OC exchange fic, written by MakjangCandy. Theresa and Cullen navigate a field of glyphs, both literal and figurative, together.
Silk & Steel: Another OC exchange fic, written by Gynedroid. The Inquisition has been disbanded, and the mark is gone. That means the Inquisitor's job is over, right?Well, not quite. Theresa Trevelyan will never turn her back on those who need help, particularly the mages she fought so hard to save. She no longer has the armies of the faithful at her back, or some of the best spies and diplomats the realm produced.  She has nothing but words at her disposal to persuade the famously iron-willed Queen Anora. Let it be enough.
