Welcome to Revenge of the Underrated!

Some of you asked me to put a "haven't watched both" to be more fair to the more unknown movies, but I've seen other tournaments doing this and I think it limits too much who can participate in the polls. So what I decided to do is a double elimination!

What does that mean? That means a movie has to lose twice to be eliminated. In other words, there will be a sorts of losers bracket that'll be part of main bracket. I'm undecided on whether to do this for only one round or the whole bracket, as it would make the tournament very long. Do let me know if you have any opinion about it.

Through the Pass (Cassian x Reader)

Summary: On a quiet night in with his mate Cassian recounts his past lover. A fierce, bold-hearted Valkyrie who perished during the war.

A/N: Hello all! I'm sorry I haven't put out anything in a while. Work has been kicking my ass. This is unedited, but I wanted to put something out to get back in the groove of writing. I wrote this based on chapter 44 in acosf when Cassian talks about Tanwyn. I tried to make this as canon accurate as possible, but we weren't given many details on the young bat boys, so it was a tad challenging. It's my first time writing for Cas so I hope you enjoy! As always constructive criticism is welcome!

“Tell me about her,” it’s a quiet whisper against the shell of his ear. Cassian senses no jealousy in his mate’s tone-just a simple curiosity. He doesn’t like to go back there and doesn’t like to relive what he views as one of his most significant failures. “Please,” Nesta urges. His eyes are drawn to the fire and he thinks of that war camp. He knocks back the finger of whiskey he poured for himself, but concedes, he knows your story deserves to be told. The rush of emotions makes him drag Nesta just a little closer.

“It was a long time ago,” Cassian rumbled, “I was young. Just a lackey the camp leader liked to drag around.”

War was always an ugly thing, but it was a thing Cassian happened to be very good at.

Not that the camp leaders gave him enough respect to join the war meetings anyway. He found himself missing his brothers, and missing the warm home the Lady of the court provided for them. He wasn’t a child anymore though, he was now at the generals' mercy.

The rough summer heat beat down on his back, and he could feel his sweat soaking through his leathers. He knew something was happening today, all of the males in the camp were on edge.  

He quickly realized why when the battalion of females appeared in the camp. 

They radiated power.

They all wore leathers similar to his own, but they also wore silver gleaming chest plates engraved with two wings surrounding an eight-pointed star. Cassian’s eyebrows shot up to his hairline. If the Valkyries were here then something important is happening. He felt his stomach twist in disgust when he saw the way the other Illyrian males were sneering at the women. However, the females did not falter, most sneering right back at the brutes or not giving them the time of day. 

That was when he saw their general. 

She was jaw-dropping, hair braided into a crown with a piece of white ribbon, and a strong silver sword strapped along the length of her back. She nodded at him in greeting before disappearing into his camp leader's tent. 

He felt the tips of his cheeks twinge red before his supervisor snapped at him to get back to work. 

Cassian didn’t interact with the Valkyries much after that. They had set up a camp about a mile from the Illyrians. The only glimpses of the women he got were during his daily run around the border. They rose with the sun and did stretches that he had never seen before. While the Illyrians focused more on strength training, doing the bare minimum stretches to keep muscles from tearing, the Valkyries focused more on flexibility and grounding techniques. He was even more surprised when he saw their general doing the morning warm-ups with the rest of the battalion. You were completing the warm-ups along with taking a break to mildly correct some of the others in their form. He had never seen such a thing, he barely saw his camp leader step out of the tent, let alone help newer soldiers with their form. He tried to watch and copy the movements, but he quickly realized his balance could use some work. After struggling for a while he made his way back to the camp. 

Cassian fell into a rhythm. He woke early and did his normal run until he reached the Valkyrie campsite where he would attempt to replicate the stretches and workouts from a distance. 

It wasn’t until later when he was practicing the stretches alone on the bank of a lake that he met you for the first time. The moon was high and the sky was covered in a blanket of stars that allowed him enough light to see clearly. 

“What are you doing?” the sound of your voice snapped him out of the trance he had been in, poorly imitating the Valkyrie warm-up routine. You had seen him watching you in the mornings a few times and assumed he was just like all the other Illyrian males at the camp. 

They didn’t respect you but they sure liked to stare. 

If you had realized he was trying to learn you probably would’ve helped. You decide you’d help him out anyway-by the looks of his form during a sun salutation he’d need all the help he can get. The male stared at you, mouth opening and closing trying to find some words, a pink flush dusting his cheeks. 

“I was just trying to stretch.” Cassian averted his eyes from your form leaning against the boulder, casually observing his piss-poor attempt to replicate what he’s sure must come easy to you by now. 

“I can help you if you’d like.” It’s a small offer, but this seems like a generally nice male. You’ve been tracking his eyes and they haven’t strayed from your face once. Plus it helped that you thought he was kind of cute. Clearly, he was powerful, the seven red stones decorating him were clue enough for that. However, for some reason, he hasn’t risen in rank. Probably some dumb Illyrian jealousy. If he’s stronger than the camp leader the old asshole would never let him surpass the rank of foot soldier. 

He considered your offer for a moment before nodding, and you motioned for him to get back into the form he had previously been in. 

“You Illyrians are always so focused on being as big and bulky as possible you neglect fundamentals of strength.” You’re circling him like a predator would its prey before you knock all 6 feet of him over with a small push to the stomach. His cheeks flush as he looks up at you. You’re smiling at him as you offer him a hand and he accepts it rising to his full height above you. “The first thing you need to start with is up here,” you tap a finger against Cassian’s skull and he sends you a winning smile. 

“Teach me then general. Please.” He thinks that you look beautiful, the white ribbon winding in your hair like a stolen beam of moonlight. The shadows accentuate the strong cords of hard-earned muscle. You stick your hand out again and introduce yourself. He smiles at you again in turn and tells you his name as well. 

“Okay, Cassian. I’ll teach you.” 

That was how Cassian found himself on the shore of that lake every day after sunset. The two of you trained and laughed. His favorite times were when the two of you sparred. All snarls and bared teeth. Rolling in the mud fighting to put someone on their back. It was during one of these sparring sessions that you and Cas shared your first kiss. It was one of the rare instances he had won, your form successfully pinned below him and covered in lakeside mud. Your lips had been his reward. 

You had tasted like a summer rainstorm. So much strength, but your body was still soft under his calloused hands. You were so patient with him and your soldiers, but he had seen you ruthlessly knock down other Illyrians for insulting your status as a Valkyrie. Like the sun shining while it was raining, you were his perfect paradox. 

That was how he spent the rest of the sweltering heat of the summer in Illyria. Training, swimming, and losing yourselves in each other. Cassian had greatly improved in training. He had mastered the Valkyrie sun salutation and had moved on to some more complicated balancing and stretching exercises. It was almost an even match whenever the two of you sparred. Cassian had been getting his ass handed to him less and less these days. 

As fall started rolling in, the perfect bubble you two had built started crumbling. He knew something was wrong when he found you staring at the last summer sunset with a numb look in your eye. He had sat down with you, hand encasing yours, and waited for you to be ready to speak. Your voice was broken as you finally uttered five words into the setting sun. 

“He’s sending us to die.” Cassian’s heart sank to his knees as he watched the silver line your eyes. 

“What are you talking about?” His voice was calm, but he was praying to the Mother that he had heard you wrong. He knew deep down he hadn’t because he had never seen you falter. You always seemed to be unbreakable, and yet there you were crumbling before his eyes. Cassian had to fight to beat down the urge to tear the camp to shreds, but he wrapped you up in his arms. Your shaking form further solidified the nasty fear curdling in his stomach.

“The king has ordered the entire force of the Valkyrie to march the pass in the Gollian Mountains. It’s a suicide mission. I’m going to die Cas, I have to lead my girls to die,” The cracks in your voice mirror the cracks in his heart at your words. The hopelessness as you stared numbly at the water rocked Cassian to his core. 

“There has to be some way we can stop this. Would your king really sacrifice the entire force of the Valkyries in one battle?” The logic didn’t make any sense. The Valkyries had been such a valuable asset in the war efforts. He would talk to the camp leaders tomorrow. He would fly all the way to your king's castle and demand to know what the hell he was thinking. 

“We swore an oath,” you pulled up your sleeve to show the mark of an eight-pointed star and two wings. The same symbol branded into your army’s chest plates. “When the king gives an order we must obey. I already told my battalion we probably won’t be coming back. I refuse to let them go into this blind. We’ll go down with honor at least.” The resignation in your voice delivered the final blow to his already aching heart.

He spent the rest of the night holding you, reassuring you that you didn’t fail your soldiers, that this happening wasn’t your fault, and then he made love to you under the stars for the first and last time. 

When Cassian returned to the Illyrian camp he stormed straight into his war leader's tent and demanded to know what the hell he was thinking. He demanded that the Illyrains fly with the Valkyrie, with their combined forces the scales of the battle would easily tip in their favor. The warlord had done nothing but sneer and turn Cassian away, and when he had flipped his desk over he had been punched in the mouth so hard he cracked a tooth. Still, Cassian had insisted that he was going with the Valkyrie. The camp leader had wanted to let him die but apparently, the High Lord had given a specific order to keep him alive. Instead, he was beaten and chained to a wagon at the border of the camp. 

He fought, screamed, and wailed until the morning. His wrists and ankles were bloody and one leg of the wagon had broken under the weight of his struggle. As he stared into the rising sun he knew that you were gone. No birds sang or creatures moved about the woods in the morning. 

He could feel the loss in the deafening silence of dawn.

“When they finally unchained me it took the healer two full weeks to heal my vocal cords. I had torn them to shreds.”

Cassian was finally back in his body, at the House with his mate, and not back in the woods. He never returned to that lake or the pass where he knew you died. The land between the mountains had remained barren ever since. 

“I’m happy that we get to honor her now.” The quiet rage in Nesta’s voice at the injustice makes him thank the cauldron for giving him her, even if they had a rocky start. She drags a hand over her swelling stomach. The babe is almost here and he couldn’t be more thrilled to become a father. “If it’s a girl I think we should name her after her. For one of the strongest women in our history.” 

The suggestion makes tears well up in Cassian's eyes, and he almost feels like the clap of thunder he hears outside is you expressing your approval of the idea. He laughs a wet laugh into the crown of his mate’s head, pressing a kiss into her hair. 

“I think that’s a great idea Nes.”

Four times world champion, now it's time for Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel to call it a day. Here he explains why he is now at odds with the racing circus - and how he imagines his life without horsepower.

As a child, he dreamed of being like his idol Michael Schumacher. With four world championship titles (from 2010 to 2013 with the Red Bull team) and a total of 53 Grand Prix victories, Sebastian Vettel, 35, will end his Formula 1 career on November 20 in Abu Dhabi after 16 years - the only German driver to be more successful was Schumacher. In order to be accepted into the guild of the really great drivers, Vettel lacks a title with a second racing team. He tried in vain for six years at Ferrari. Now he is embarking on a new chapter in his life.

SPIEGEL: Mr. Vettel, the first race of the new season will start in Bahrain on March 5 next year. Will you be sitting in front of the TV with chips and Coke?

Vettel: I don't know, I haven't made any plans yet. But I'm not sure I want to watch the race at all. Formula 1 was my purpose in life for 16 years. Now I secretly expect myself to be able to cope without Formula 1 - as if I were going through withdrawal.

SPIEGEL: You deliberately want to keep your distance so that the transition to a new life is successful?

Vettel: I think both can be nice and right: Cutting the cord and holding on. If you enjoy doing something, you can hang on to it. But I want to go the other way, detach myself and realize: There are enough other exciting things, I can manage to open the next door and find my happiness there. That's why I'm definitely not going to stand in front of the camera at the first race as an expert with a microphone in my hand and give my two cents. My role models are people who have succeeded in simply disappearing and taking the next step in life.

SPIEGEL: Who are you thinking of?

Vettel: Stefan Raab, for example. He was so omnipresent in the German television industry, announced he was quitting - and then, practically overnight, there was silence. Now you'd have to ask him whether he's happy with that or not. But first of all, I think it's admirable when someone detaches themselves from public attention to such an extent that you have the feeling that they haven't become dependent on it: He hasn't become dependent on it. That's a big risk, especially in sports.

SPIEGEL: Roger Federer loved tennis so much that he was still fighting a battle against his ailing body at the age of 41. U.S. football star Tom Brady has returned from short-term retirement at 44, and your colleague Fernando Alonso is entering the cockpit you will leave behind at Aston Martin at 41. Why do you think you won't mind the loss of attention?

Vettel: Of course I don't know how I'll react after my last Grand Prix. On the other hand, I've been practicing a strict separation for years: When I get home, I hang up my racesuit and leave the job behind with it - apart from fitness training and a few phone calls. I have no pictures of myself at home on the wall, no trophies on display. I have a lot of other interests to look forward to. And with three kids at home, it's never boring anyway.

SPIEGEL: Cultivating vanity is one thing, but experiencing the pleasure or fun of driving at the limit is something else. So it's not just your mind that will have to go through withdrawal, but your body as well?

Vettel: I've thought about that a lot. What happens when that's no longer there: the thrill, the adrenaline, the challenge, the competition as well, all of the things that make racing so special.

SPIEGEL: ... can you describe the thrill of having to get the maximum out of yourself, the car and the track on a qualifying lap?

Vettel: The special thing is that I don't have time to think, to look where I'm going, where I'm turning in. If I'm hurtling toward a corner at 300 km/h and hit the brakes a blink of an eye too late, then I miss the apex. But it's impossible to feel the blink of an eye, to measure it for yourself. We're talking about five hundredths of a second, which no human being can pinpoint. To hit the exact right moment anyway, that's the thrill.

SPIEGEL: So do you rely on your intuition?

Vettel: I would call it anticipation. You always have to be one step ahead. Imagine a drawn circle that you trace with your hand. Not a millimeter over and not a millimeter under. Because on that line is the maximum grip. That's the perfection you're looking for on a qualifying lap. You need to have blind faith in the vehicle and merge with it. When a lap like that is successful, there's an incredible sense of satisfaction.

SPIEGEL: Are you addicted to this feeling of perfection?

Vettel: Absolutely. That's a big part of my identity. Another, of course, is simple ambition. Even outside the car, I constantly find myself wanting everything to be perfect. With me, things always have to be completely accurate. I can't stand a picture hanging crookedly on the wall. It disturbs me, distracts me, has to be corrected. My wife sometimes gets annoyed with me about that, but that probably happens to many women with their husbands.

SPIEGEL: You haven't been in tune with your race cars for a long time. You won a single Grand Prix in 2019 and none since. There is no trace of perfection.

Vettel: That's why I was considering retiring even back then. In 2017 and 2018 I competed for the world championship with Ferrari, won five races in each year, but still only finished second behind Lewis Hamilton in the end. Spending so much energy, including mental energy, for two years in a row and then coming up short - that's when doubts emerged: Will this ever work out? Is there still hope?

SPIEGEL: After your world championship titles with Red Bull, you switched to Ferrari for one reason only: to become world champion there.

Vettel: Of course. But in 2019 it quickly became apparent that we weren't competitive. At the same time, I had a new, young teammate who simply started off unburdened by disappointments. Charles Leclerc took the wheel and hit the gas. He was carrying less weight around with him. He drove the way I saw myself during my first Formula 1 years. I, on the other hand, saw my goal slipping out of reach. That did something to me that I didn't immediately understand. Then, when my contract with Ferrari ended in 2020, the thought of leaving was very present.

SPIEGEL: What kept you from doing that?

Vettel: Somehow I still had a few unanswered questions or unsettled scores with myself. To put it simply, I wanted to know: Can I still do it, am I still good enough to compete at the top of Formula 1?

SPIEGEL: But there was no offer from a top team, only from Aston Martin.

Vettel: 2021 was a development year for me - with high hopes that things would get better in 2022 from a sporting point of view.

SPIEGEL: Things turned out differently, and Aston Martin continues to lag behind. In retrospect, was it a mistake not to have quit two years ago?

Vettel: No. In order to get answers to the unresolved questions, it was important to have this time. However, the fact that I'm not currently in a race car with which I can show what I'm actually capable of has also contributed to my retirement.

SPIEGEL: You announced your decision in a lengthy video that you posted - unusually for you - on Instagram. Your main motive was to have more time to spend together with your three children.

Vettel: Absolutely. But it's a bundle of motivations. As far as my children are concerned, I've been living in a conflict for years. They are my priority, but on the other hand I'm very dedicated to my sport, and every year it's become more difficult to do right by them - in part because there are more and more races each season. At the same time, I can't escape the changing times, can't ignore what's happening to our world and environment, where we're all collectively headed. And what part I play as a racing driver.

SPIEGEL: Despite your passion for racing, have you become estranged from Formula 1?

Vettel: Yes. I don't want that to be understood as a negative thing for Formula 1, but in recent years I've often asked myself the question: Do I still fit in here? It doesn't make me a better person, for example compared to the other drivers, if I ask myself that question. But I think I've always been a bit different from most in the Formula One bubble. The issues that concern me, the things I see like that, are quite different. Estranged is an appropriate word.

SPIEGEL: You profess to be a Green voter, travel to European races by train or RV, campaign for biodiversity and waste reduction, demonstrate for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community - this has earned you applause, but also scorn and criticism. Do you understand when some call you a hypocrite?

Vettel: I've asked myself in recent years how I should approach the fact that I fly to Japan, Brazil or Abu Dhabi and consume resources. But I couldn't change that as a Formula 1 driver. And so I'm increasingly caught in a conflict between the views and values I hold and what I do. It doesn't fit together. In retrospect, it bothers me that I didn't realize until this late that I could use my voice to draw attention to such problems.

SPIEGEL: Niki Lauda, Alain Prost, Michael Schumacher - three of the greatest stars of the Grand Prix circus have made a comeback. Is that out of the question for you?

Vettel: I'd like to rule it out. But I can't. I don't know what I'll do in one or two years' time. As far as the physical side of things is concerned, I'm in a sport that you could easily return to after a two-year break. However, I hope that in two years' time I'll still be saying: No thanks, I don't need racing anymore.

SPIEGEL: Is that a bit of a worry about a relapse?

Vettel: I think that's a concern for almost all professional athletes. You grow into your career, it's a development that starts as a child, whether you're a cyclist, a soccer player or a racing driver. Hardly anyone reaches the top of their sport after changing careers or coming in late. I am aware that the second step into life after sports is much more difficult.

SPIEGEL: For decades, racing drivers were something like the car industry's top ambassadors. Now, manufacturers favor electrically powered cars and are gearing up for a mobility revolution that aims to drastically reduce traffic in cities. What is your opinion on this?

Vettel: I see it as a great opportunity. Because of my job, I've seen many cities all over the world - in some of them, people don't even consider opening their windows. People there are dying because of how bad the air is. I think cities where it's a given to ride a bike, like in Scandinavia, are mega-cool. And I like to use on-demand networks. You can spin that further and wonder what happens to all the parking spaces if not everyone wants to own a car. That's all space that can be given back to the people, which would improve the quality of urban living. I'm not afraid of this change.

SPIEGEL: Will automotive racing still be around in ten years?

Vettel: Only if it manages to put itself at the forefront of the movement, so to speak. Above all, that means bringing a technological development to the race cars that really has relevance. In the future, can we afford to waste resources just to have fun? No. Motorsport has to find an answer to the question: What's the point?

SPIEGEL: Formula 1 sees itself in a pioneering role. From 2026, the new regulations will provide for hybrid engines, half of whose power will come from an electric motor and half from a combustion engine powered by synthetic, CO2-neutral fuel.

Vettel: A few things immediately come to mind. I think 2026 is too late to see it as a pioneering role. Synthetic fuels already exist, so why wait another four years? We're running on E10 gasoline this season and acting like it's a big deal. I find that a bit embarrassing, E10 has been available at the gas station for over ten years. I see synthetic fuels more as a bridging technology because their production requires a lot of renewable energy. This energy would be better used for heating and warm water - before it is spent with great difficulty and low efficiency for the production of synthetic gasoline.

SPIEGEL: Is Formula 1 on the wrong path?

Vettel: Formula 1 is far too preoccupied with the present and looks far too little at the opportunities of the future. It's busy expanding - instead of having the foresight to become the pacesetter for tomorrow's mobility.

SPIEGEL: Mr. Vettel, thank you for this interview.

current obsession: i'll be real with you here, i haven't had time for anything other than school since the semester started 🥲, but i've been reading a lot about the holodomor, nuclear power, and generally the history of eastern europe and the middle east post wwi. my goal this year is to better educate myself about the history of central and eastern europe and the middle east, and to learn more about the cold war (if you have any recs on latin america let me know because my library doesn't have anything). as much as i love history and especially wwi, i feel l feel like these areas are kind of dark spots in my knowledge and i'd like to fix that

Experiment ZARC AU.

Declan didn't even realise he'd moved till he was already standing between Zarc and his father. He hadn't seen his old man in person, face to face in years, hadn't seen Zarc in even more...and yet here he was.

"I won't move, you won't hurt him ever again" said Declan, he refused to. Gravity itself could vanish and he would refuse to float away.

He knew everyone was watching, knew they were shocked and found he didn't care.

Declan had spent too many nights agonising over lab reports, of tests and procedures that made him feel ill but would force himself to read.

The least he could do for Zarc was to know what they'd put him through.

Every single one of those reports only reminded him why he was here.

"Why am I not suprised that you would face me, that you'd pick that monster over Ray."

Declan glared, anger welling up inside his veins making him shake. "Don't you dare! Don't you dare utter her name! You don't deserve to use it, not after everything you've done. If you knew Ray at all you'd know she'd he right here with me!"

Declan was yelling now, he couldn't keep his usual composure.

He found he didn't want to.

The fact his dad would invoke her name so casually pissed him off.

Ray had stood by Zarc till the end, had personally gone to try and calm him down from his rage... It wasn't her fault nor was it Zarc's. It was accident, plain and simple.

What wasn't an accident was their father using it as a cover up of his own crimes against humanity, using his defiant daughter as a martyr and the product of his actions as the monster for the mob to turn on.

If Ray was here she would've flipped him the bird, she was sweet and soft but she was rough around the edges and cursed like a sailor. She was bold and loud and spoke her mind, she ruffled his hair and smuggled Zarc ice cream into the lab.

And their father had tried to erase her, to make her image more agreeable for him. Ray would've hated it, and so did Declan.

He really thought she would choose him?

A stinging sensation was felt on his face and Declan stumbled back but stayed on his feet. His father was suddenly standing before him, enraged.

So Declan did the only thing he could of at that moment and spat at him like the child he was.

"Ra help me Declan if you keep that monster from me, if you stand in my way. For I will be rid of you if I must."

Declan rolled his eyes "been saving that one for a while haven't you."

That's when he felt something else, another hand but this one tugging on his clothes. Shy, hesitant and wasn't painful at all.

"Declan?"

Declan felt his heart stop, keeping his guard up but lightly tilted his head to see Zarc behind him.

He looked so afraid, and he was clinging to Declan like he'd vanish at any moment not that Declan would blame him.

"It's okay" smiled Declan, ignoring the stinging of his cheek. "We're gonna get out of here yeah, and get ice cream like we promised." Like they were going to do before everything went wrong.

Zarc looked at him, all wide eyed but their was no sign of that hopeful twinkle Declan had grown up with. He looked so lost and confused, he didn't dare look Leo in the eye and instead coward behind Declan like he was a sheild.

It broke his heart and made his rage grow, he turned back to his father.

Not needing words 'if you want him, you'll have to go through me'

David Armsby’s ‘Old Buck’: A Review

So by now most of you are probably aware of the short film Old Buck by David Armsby (AKA Dead Sound) that came out today and has singlehanded become one of the best pieces of dinosaur media I have ever seen in my life. I haven’t really done a review-format-type-thing before but this really make me want to give it a shot. So, in advance, my short review is that this film is absolutely incredible, and you should all go and watch it a million times over like I have. Now, to say that in a much more long-winded way!

We give a lot of grief to dinosaurs with dumb boring names like Australotitan or even dumber stupid names like Thanos. But I think it’s time to point some appreciation towards dinosaur names that are just, so good, man. 

Like, take Galeamopus. Pretty standard-sounding Latin name there but nope, turns out the authors were on some insane 4th-dimensional chess nonsense with this name.

the child who was with taemin, her mon made an insta post saying that taemin was really attentive and nice during the production of the video. she also mentioned a part of the video that was cut out was when her daughter asked taemin why they changed to just 4 now, and the mom said taemin calmly explained it. there are probably some other parts like this cut out from the video.....it makes me wonder who made the decision for the cuts? perhaps the pd felt it was best to leave certain things out for a kids focused show? the video hit me harder than i thought it would at some parts, but overall, shinee was so nice interacting with the kids. perhaps all these kids (and yoogeun) could do a show with shinee......one can imagine!

So they did get these questions too huh? I think you’re right that they might’ve not wanted the video to focus too much on that aspect especially with the target audience, but I do wonder how Taem or the others approached that topic (although, there is not really a need to know). I thought Minho’s answer was... interesting. 

What I was left wondering was if they were really ready to dive back into their past

in front of cameras... Like that video felt so heavy on Onho’s part. Even though Minho handled it well, you could just sense that distress, but that girl making him laugh at the end was so sweet. 

It really did hit me harder than I thought as well, but like you said they were so sweet and lovely to the kids and it was nice to see these interactions!! 

And I’m totally voting for a show like that!!! SHINee with kids is always a win!!!

It’s sad but also beautiful how Taemin is becoming more and more like Jonghyun in many ways.

hey what happened? whats going on w taemin? D: wasn't able to watch it and now i see everyone is upset

Basically, towards the end of the show, they showed a clip of their past concerts in Japan and I think the guys weren't ready to see all those OT5 clips and Jjong smiling or crying with them. They just shut down, Ontae in particular and Tae left the stage not long after.

My thing with people loving Taemin first before SHINee or people who only know Taemin is that they really are missing out on the growth and experience he got from being in SHINee and being around 4 other boys that pushed him to want to be the best on all fronts. The journey of Taemin is only satisfying through the lens of his whole career aka from his pre-debut training to now. No one becomes that successful and outstanding without other people of the equivalent caliber (or close to) surrounding them.
