since minecraft is hot rn im gonna yap about some of the minecraft worldbuilding ive done for the mobs!!! why not!!! since my favorite are drowned ill go over them and see if anyone actually likes this ehehe
ok so! my most fleshed out thing for them is naming systems. theyre normally named after aquatic natural things and then their name is shortened (or something of the like) into their casual name. so they have both a proper (axolotl) and a common (lottie) name. calling a drowned by their proper name is like full naming someone.
drowned culture varies depending on the body of water obviously. different bodies of water act like different regions. shallow water drowned make clothing (mostly hats and other headwear so their heads dont burn out of water) out of leaves and fronds and lily pads and the like, so theres a lot of fashion and weaving in their culture.
oceanic drowned have a bigger focus on protecting their structures/defending themselves, so their culture is deeply rooted in fighting. their babies grow up learning how to fight.
DIALECTS!!! each 'region' of drowned have a different dialect!! shallow water drowned are more clearly spoken because the water hasnt destroyed their vocal chords as much as oceanic drowned!!!
this is all i can remember right now but i might go into more detail....if u have questions i would be more than happy to answer them rghiurhgrtg i love love love LOVEEE WORLDBUILDING AUGHHHH

Pandora"s Vault:
Contained : Dream, Tommyinnit, Ranboo, Technoblade, Connoreatpants
Series : DSMP
Propaganda : its so big. Its so so big. Look at a map of the dsmp. Its just a black void bigger than l'manburg was. You look at it and you just know it's something terrible. the obsidian walls, lava, the iron. It's just there. In the middle of the ocean. It does not fit in and its scary. the AMOUNT of redstone and functions it go is AMAZING. the only way to enter is through a portal that then leads u to the nether and has to be manually activated again by the warden. So to enter you literally NEED the wardens permission. All the bridges and all the door. It's so fucking cool man what can I say. The amount of security. the lore that happened inside pandora as well. Pandoras arc was the best arc of the whole of dream smp and I stand by that. There is so so much to unpack. Sam and Dream could have just built some shitty obsidian box and called it a prison, but no they made PANDORAS VAULT
The Ghost's Vault:
Contained : VikingPilot's Prized possesions
Series : Dominion SMP
Propaganda : Perhaps the only self-titled Vault to actually be one, the Ghost's Vault, built by VikingPilot, is two things -- a consolidation of wealth, and a display of power. Built at a time on Dominion where every single diamond had to be handed over to the Queen every two weeks, the Vault is made in total opposition to that policy as an extremely intimidating secret stash. All 10 sets of Netherite armor are enchanted and labeled. It's built with soulfire lanterns under the center carpet runner for the sole purpose of unnerving the local piglin. He's taken people here twice onscreen, and both times it was to cash in a no-conditions-set IOU with that other person in order to make sure things work out exactly the way they need to. It also contains two very important books! Viking's "To Do" list is very simple -- Run Dominion. However, the other one -- the Book -- is quite possibly the single most dangerous thing in Viking's possession. He's not sure what's in it, other than that it contains rituals of unimaginable power and that if he opens it again, he will crack in half. Oh, and the Ghost's Vault is also the location for the world's most unhinged 12-minute 100% improv monologue to ever exist.

PIGLIN BRAIDS
some of my personal lore/ideas for piglins!
hair is incredibly important in piglin culture, and you essentially display your life and who you are and your connections to others through your braids and jewelry
some more details/thoughts under the cut:
about a decade after philza and techno became friends, philza and techno were stuck in the nether when philza was injured (source of his bad leg) and they had to get help from a local bastion. they ended up befriending people and stayed there for about 150-200 years before they finally left, but every few hundred years they go back to spend a few decades there. they also go back specifically whenever philza and trixtin want to have children.
techno has 2 studs in his ear that philza doesn't--they're actually the earrings of his OLD/first sounder which doesn't exist anymore.
a lot of occupations are lumped together--philza's braid specifically means "builder", which refers to architects, artists, smiths, sculptors, and other professions of the same speed.
god/worship braids are meant to be knotted into your hair and stay there until your hair grows out and you have to redo the beads. each commonly recognized god has their own bead patterns, though eut'oob (i yoinked the name from a fic and i dont remember which one aaa if anyone in the notes remembers ill credit it) is a surface god and techno made up his own braid pattern for him because he isnt worshipped in the nether.
piglins have matesprit, moirail, and kismesis jewelry >:] iykyk. emduo are moirails cant change my mind. (techno had kismesis chains/jewelry for squid but that was a long time ago--squid died of old age)
word braiders are a highly valued part of piglin society. the reason it's a piercing and not a braid is because you have to be gifted a nose ring and be approved to get a piercing by another master word braider to show that you're qualified to call yourself one. you can't just put in a braid and call it a day.
wilbur grew up in a bastion till he was like 14/15 but he ended up chopping all of his hair off when he was a teen. techno is the one who gave him his nose ring when he was 17.

thats all i can think of have a nice day <3

Orphan’s Path is one of the most beautiful pieces of fanfiction I’ve ever read- it just /perfectly/ encapsulates the boundless creativity that was my favorite thing about the MCYT fandom. Beyond just the storytelling though- the WORLDBUILDING just astounded me. From the more story-based beats like Sky and Moon’s Landing, Lagos’s splintering, and the Manifold, to the more general MC worldbuilding like totems of undying being created via ritual, pearleye, and ofc all the new months and the longer years and the server mechanics!
There are so many worldbuilding aspects I look at and go “i don’t know how they came up with this idea but i am going to aspire to reach for this level of creativity every time I try and tackle Minecraft as a setting.” I’m sure having multiple heads to put together for ever-fresh concepts really helped too!
I was wondering- did you have any sort of..personal guidelines or jumping-off-points as to how to approach integrating things into the Orp universe? Questions you’d ask yourselves or a theme to keep in mind with each new feature you figured out? Because I’d be delighted to be able to create with the same spirit y’all did. It’s inspired me ever since I first read Orp, and I think I’ll always look to it as an example of how much you can do when you’re handed a few pieces of lore and are determined to carry it all the way home.
a lot of what you're describing for how i approach worldbuilding boils down to "yes, and?" like taking even the most innocuous offhand stuff and deciding to find ways it does work. accepting it as true in some form and figuring out how this affects other things.
and the most important thing is you have to be willing to do this even with ridiculous shit. because all jokes come from something real, and you gotta not be embarrassed about writing a story or thinking about something stupid. be willing to look at something ridiculous and go "why ISN'T this stupid" first, "why IS this stupid" second. sometimes, it really can't be anything but stupid! but if you let a silly element breathe, that's where you can find a certain meat to a story that sometimes doesn't exist anywhere else.
fear is the mind killer. cringe is also the mind killer. you gotta shank any sense of shame or embarrassment that can come with engaging the premise YOU decided to create and explore, and a huge part of that is acknowledging the implications of seemingly (or genuinely) unserious elements of something at face value. writing off a character's silly name, goofy theme song, or meme humor is easier on yourself, sure, but it's so much more interesting in the long run if you don't. the absurdity of a setting is part of the setting! don't pretend it isn't!
you CANNOT get "piglin family units dictate the societal structure of the nether" in orp without first accepting "orphans killed my parents".

OVERWORLD undead
Fur Patterns: Influenced by their home biome. Comes in any natural color. Overworld air turns them pink. Warped fungus turns them purple. (listed in order: Basalt Delta, Soulsand Valley, Crimson Forest, Nether Wastes, Warped Forest)
Piglins are primarily carnivores, with fungivore tendencies in times of low food.
Piglins do not display sexual dimorphism, or any gender roles in their society beyond "sows," or the piglins that give birth, or "farrowed."
("What's a man?" "I heard it was a chicken")
CLAN BONDS: Piglins display an instinctual bond to those close to them, their "clan." This connection can be displayed between family, friends, or lovers. Rarely, it can even transcend species barriers, with some piglins bonding to humans.
Piglins consider this bond to be sacred. It was a way of survival in the harsh Nethr environments, and they believe this strong connection to be holy. It's the reason why piglins become hostile when one is attacked. This trait even remains in the undead, despite their lack of cognitive function.
The worst crime a piglin can commit is killing their clan.
Those guilty of this are called "Butchers."
BASTIONS: Brutes are taken in at 5 years old at every "cool" season, or when the lava lakes are receded.
They are taken from their family, and trained to be warriors. To defend their bastions with their lives, and the gold inside.
Brutes are supposed to be a fallback for nomadic clans, in case of a mass attack; either Players, or the Infected.
Clan bonds are heavily discouraged, they are forcibly snapped upon discovery. Bonds are seen as weakness in the bastions. The only connections should be with the entire squadron.
Each Brute has a collar. Enchanted with the Curse of Binding, it will choke the wearer upon wandering too far from their home bastion without permission to persuade runners.
These collars also embed magical commands into the brutes, so the Commander can control their troops.
HIERARCHY: Commander, Advisors, Brutes, Yearlings, Runts
NAMES: Piglin names are primarily nouns. Families will name their children similar items (Netherrack, Netherbrick). Sometimes, names will be from mythologies. This is more commonly seen in bastions, where piglins have no familial connections.
However, there's dangers in this. They will never name themselves after active piglin spirits (they don't believe in "gods.") Names have the power to invoke them, and no one wants to draw their ire.
Clan bond nicknames, however, are designed to do exactly that. They are they piglin trying to summon physical manifestations of their love for another. Usually these nicknames are something sentimental to the piglin and related to their perception to their clan. It is considered the highest honor to be given a bond name.
SPIRITS:
REITIEN - Spirit of Chance, Change, Hunt (Anything Living)
IGNATIA - Spirit of Order, Structure (Blazes, Bastions)
THE ROT - Spirit of Death, Undead (Anything 'Dead')

ScenarioSMP crew ^-^
Transparents under the cut + an explanation on some of the design choices i made
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So these are just like, general designs? i'd change the way I draw them per scenario and stuff lol
Legundo: I had a design for his previous skin but I'm not caught up on his lore and have no idea how to interpret his skin lmaoo also I made him a piglin hybrid because of the Dominion SMP!!
ForgeLabs: Based it on one of his old classic skins because lately its almost always either a burger or Albert Einstein a;lsdkjf (i did make them little pins on his vest though) also I see him as like, a survivalist who doesn't know how to live normally (ie him slaying in his zombie videos but not knowing basic vanilla minecraft mechanics) underneath the mask hes just normal Sean lmao
ShadowMech: I kept him pretty much the same as his skin/merch design. forgot about the grey skin though orz He was my favorite to draw :3
UnsortedGuy: same as above just kinda kept him as his skin looks (although I might draw him with some pokemon accessories next time to give tribute to his pixelmon server :D)
OkRobert: So as far as I can tell he doesn't really stick to one skin so for this I just kinda drew like, the actual guy in the clothes that the first skin I saw him use wears? Plus armor cause yeah
I see the heights going from Legundo -> Kim -> Robert -> Sean -> Shadow :3
Might make Kiply, Sneve and Ryan designs? idk lol

OH I realised today that I never actually explained the “Ulysses was originally a rabbit” joke… so here’s that explanation/behind the scenes on his character creation lol-
When I was first invited to join Fable as a cast member and create my own character for the world, I spent some time spitballing ideas. All the new cast were given a lot of wiggle room to build our little guys, and so I came up with 3 concept character pitches, which each could have explored different areas of the server’s lore that we hadn’t gotten a huge glimpse into in the first 2 seasons:
Character #1 was the aforementioned rabbit, named Tamlin! Although maybe rabbit isn’t quite accurate, he was a Jackalope hybrid. He was the most developed of the pitches I came up with, and I think I described him as “Alice in Wonderland’s White Rabbit meets Celtic Mythology/the Fae”. He would have been more Nature-Fam (specifically c!Jamie) adjacent, being a rabbit hybrid created by Deltavera, as a sort of assistant/companion. Narratively he functioned almost as a foil to c!Ven, being an assistant to Delta rather than Fable. He would have been driven mad by Fable to some extent after Delta’s death (we hadn’t decided on how exactly, at that point in time) and leaned hard into the Wonderland tea/madness/whimsical aspect. His purpose story-wise would have been to help c!Jamie learn about Deltavera over time, both of them unlocking pieces of the past together in scattered fragments, ending with Tamlin getting all of his memories back.
Character #2 was a piglin, I think? Or at the very least some kind of Nether Hybrid. They would have been a Nether soldier that fully deserted both sides of the war, and was living undercover in the Overworld as a fugitive while trying to fend off zombification. His working name was “Asmodius” or “Azzy”, and a lot of his characterisation and the idea of his family coming with him was eventually folded directly into the Tuskly’s as NPC’s!
Character #3 was an unnamed Telchin. He was originally solely a warrior, inspired by the Iliad, rather than the Odyssey, specifically Prince Hector of Troy. A soldier who had spent decades fighting and being hardened and calloused only to defend a city that was always doomed to fall. I didn’t want to interfere with the scientist side of the Telchin, since that was very much Metta and Ocie’s thing, so I intentionally tried to steer clear of that, and lean hard into the war-time aspect of the telchin, and the idea of the rest of society collapsing while the scientists worked on the projects.
In the end, there was a bunch of reasons the characters didn’t pan out.
Tamlin was ultimately just not narratively necessary? c!Jamie could find out most of those things on his own, and as Deltavera was developed into the more lovable “I only talk to animals” loner, it felt weird for him to have an assistant. Logistically it would also have been difficult for me to act as both Tamlin and Delta in any cutscenes lmao. As much as I liked the wacky Mad Hatter rabbit hybrid vibes, it also made him overlap just a little too much with what c!Haley had become. Certain elements were reused for Ulysses though, like the fragmented memories, and the “tea obsession” was changed to the “kelp obsession” at the beginning of the season, etc.
Asmodius just wasn’t as developed as a character, and I didn’t think he could hold water for the whole season. Not to mention Athena and Ocie were both expanding on the Nether aspect of the world though c!Athena and Oscar’s backstory, and I didn’t think I was bringing anything new enough that fully justified his existence as a character beyond the initial concept (hence why it was given to the Tuskly’s, specifically Wilkins, since at the time there was only ever going to be him as the only Tuskly).
I actually think it was Heyhay that approached me about expanding the Telchin idea? Maybe? It was a while ago now. I was really excited to be given the invite to take part in the established scientist/project lore that had been developed in s2, because it was something they’d really been building up, basically with the pitch of “hey… you like horror stuff right? *points at Brink* We have some horrors to witness” lol. I got to really go all in on the Frankenstein meets Greek Mythology angle, and finding a way to transition someone from a soldier to a scientist was what led to the medic/doctor angle, and examining what drives a once person to do the things Ulysses did, and experiment on a god they worshipped. The letter of regret about Project Leviathan was the first time I really got a feel for writing Ulysses as a character, and I instantly became very attached. Like, as much as the other ideas for him would have been fun, I would not trade the character he became and the development of him behind the scenes for the world, he is the best character outcome I could have hoped for when joining Fable ✨

Orpheus rates DSMP Doomsday prep inventories
(Thanks @irrealisms for screenshots and encouragement!)
Tumblr media
Tommy - 9/10. Weapons, ammo, good armor, tactical Lore Fish, enderpearls, food, blocks, trident… you go, funky little man. Could use potions and an e-chest.
Tumblr media
Jack Manifold - 7/10. Like he's not tryharding, or he's not tryharding well, but he did bring the important things. The bow looks unenchanted which which 8 arrows is pretty cringe. The shield durability is also cringe but he does have the supplies to make more. Good work, Jack!
Tumblr media
Technoblade - 10/10. Who am I to criticize Technoblade's PVP loadout.
Tumblr media
Niki - 4/10. Look at her! She made an effort! Good for her. (She wasn't planning on getting in the fighting much, which does help.)
Tumblr media
Tubbo - 4/10. He also made an effort! I think the enchanted shield is a nice touch.
Tumblr media
Phil - 10/10. Good for him.
Tumblr media
Ranboo (+ full enchanted netherite) - 6/10. Most of his points are for bringing weapons and good armor. If he brought anything else useful, he will not be able to find it.
Tumblr media
Puffy - 3/10. What are you doing, Puffy. (Apparently she was explicitly not bringing her good armor to the fight, which is sensible and fair enough.)
Tumblr media
Ghostbur - 2/10. One point has been awarded for Blue. After haranguing, one additional point has been awarded for Charm.
I know he didn't know there was a war on, but the thing is, this is also a garbage inventory for anything at all, including building or hanging out. I don't think you tried at all, Ghostbur. I love you.
Tumblr media
Fundy - 6/10 if the bow doesn't have infinity, 7/10 if it does.
Tumblr media
Eret (+ iirc full netherite armor) - 8/10. Yeah you thought this one through! Go Eret!
Tumblr media
Quackity - 8/10. Now he could use armor. But he has a boat and waterbucket for clutches, some food, gold he can trade to piglins if he finds someone else's crafting bench, one potion which I'm sure has a useful tactical effect, a bed to reset his spawn, blocks to tower with, magma blocks and flint & steel for tactical juking moves, AND the stuff to make furnaces and make decent food if he finds someone else's crafting bench, and burns the boat and his bow in the furnace. Now that's a professional minecrafter.

Follow up on the trauma ask thing just now
Does that mean you have lore planned for Mono? Have you gone as far as to design the human behind the avatar?
WELL YOU SEE you got it backwards
mono is based off the human version of my Minecraft oc fyrglass who is a piglin so the like flow chart goes a little like this:
Tumblr media
With some little In between version between fyrglass and federico but you get the gist
i will say mono is older than both fyrglass and federico so yeah

I hope you all are ready for some minecraft art spam :) Forgot to post what I was putting on bluesky! (you should follow me by the way hehe)
I redesigned the main three! Felt like they needed a second pass so here we are. Under the cut are the lore details for them, so if you're interested hope you enjoy! If not, see you in a bit :)
Herobrine is a unique kind of builder, one that was born in what is essentially creative mode. He originated from the void, and remained there for a long, long time. Only kept company by the one other who inhabited it, though she didn't do much to soothe his loneliness.
He eventually made it out of the void, but he was rejected by creatures on the surface. In a howl of despair and an emotional out pour of energy, it was him who caused a lot of chaos in the world. From the zombie infection, to the pillager's existence, to the creation of the two bosses and a lot of other mobs.
Afterwards he fled and disappeared. Time passed and he became legend, known as Herobrine, or the prince of monsters. Presently, most are unsure if he was an actual person or was just a created myth.
Steve was taken into and raised in a village. It was at a time before builders were widely accepted, they had a poor reputation around that time, so he had to hide features of his appearance such as ears and hair to blend in.
He passed for a long time, but eventually he had died in front of the other villagers. Which was no problem, as he could just respawn, but other villagers couldn't do that- So if he were to return to the village after they had seen him die, he would be outed. So he left the village, to believe he had died.
Alex was born in the nether and taken in by a piglin tribe. The piglins didn't mind her species as much since they didn't really know the reputation the builders had, and if they did it wasn't really that important. They feared NOTHING.
She was raised specifically by a piglin brute, the chief of the tribe. She never left her tribe until Steve came around, she probably wouldn't have otherwise.

your worldbuilding for your dreamingverse au is so good i wish i knew everything about the world you're making. i genuinely could read about it for HOURS
Oh that is so sweet! @solar-cycle And who am I to deny your curiosity (I certainly am happy to rant about Dreamingverse)!
MINECRAFT SPECULATIVE LORE?
(Sorry about the lack of image, I was too excited to post and didn’t have any ideas jump out at me for what to draw… next post maybe lol)
Here’s the fundamentals of the Dreamingverse au:
There was, once, two universes. The first, the one you might be able to imagine, was made of matter, of time and space, and was inhabited by advanced civilizations. The other was pure sapience, a sprawling neuronic network that dreamed in its own pathways. They call it the End Before the Beginning, the cataclysmic collision of universes that split and fragmented and recrystallized into a single many faceted prism. And in the wake of this cataclysm, the civilizations of before collapsed. It wasn’t an immediate thing, though, but a slow implosion driven out of fear and competition over resources. How were people not meant to be afraid, when the dead were suddenly granted a second waking and the world they knew was ripped apart at the seams? When being born of pure thought, the manifestations of death, destruction, and oblivion were made to walk among them? Humanity downfall was eventually to war and its own nuclear power, and thus began the era of oblivion.
The era of oblivion was marked by the absence of life and the settling of the earth. The newly reborn [universe] was irradiated and barren, made of fractured pockets of tribes and civilizations relearning how to live in their world and hanging on to their lives with white knuckles. If nothing else, this extreme of living incentivized the rapid evolution of genetics, leading to offshoot species in the descendant of humanity, Piglins, Witches, Endr, and more, among them. These offshoots are widely known as “Hybrids” granted by the universe the qualities of species better suited to their extreme environments.
It is then the Era of Growth and Decay. The plants, as with the undead, are given a sentience of their own, mutated and lively, they are the first to begin recovering from the End, and with them, the deities of these concepts too. Among these plants, Creepers, long, slow-moving creatures of explosive spores, Sculk, Mycelium, Glares, and the Nylium of the Neth.
And in the wake of the plants, the Era of Beasts follow, where animals and their corresponding deities begin to grow bold and awake.
Following at last is the rebirth of civilization. It’s the Neath that takes off first, the early bastions of the Piglin gathering culture and resource in order to begin exploring and inventing, the overworld soon following. And here also, is where the Creators truly emerge. They had existed before in some capacity, sapient beings woven more deeply into the fabric of the universe, able to catch the flitting dreams of the universe and spin it into their own make. Beings with the ability to Construct and Destroy at a scale no Animate could match even with a lifetime of magical and alchemic training. They were revered and despised in often equal measures.
Which brings us to the basics of Sapient classifications. To be clear, these lines are not hard or certain, but rather a general categorization.
There are the Animates of course: NPCs essentially (though that feels dismissive) the bulk of the population, living limited lifespans and with little access to magics.
These rest are Creators, broadly speaking:
The so called “Players,” generally the children of other Creators, of Animates, or Animates themselves given the powers of Construction and Destruction later in life in one way or another. They tend to be more humanoid, and generally include undead Creators. For along time, they were really the only group of Creator easily accepted by the general population as they were less other.
Then there are the Fae, objects, plants, or animals that are given the gifts of the universe and higher consciousness alongside it.
And then the Constructs; Places awakened and given thought and the capacity to change and move. Often considered god-like in their own right.
And the Deities. Gods sometimes. Beings made of pure thought, concepts personified.
Civilization marched onwards, and Creators did not often die. Empires rose, fell, rose again, and over the course of many great wars and eras of peace —from the War With Heaven, to the Rapture of Empires, to Antarctic’s Conquest— the Universe slowly settled into its Dream and its people into their own.
Ask me about:
- the structure of the universe and the layout of its dimensions…
- Mechanics, this may be bundled in with the structural stuff…
- Character, lore, and series head-cannons (I may or may not have them yet!)
- The Deities
- The Remnants 0.0
- Anything really, maybe I’ll do some art :3

OKOKOKOK MICHEAL IN THE REINCARNATION AU??? I HAVE QUESTIONS
First of all. That means he's dead. That means he died. Hold up. I need a second *walks away*
*distant screeching can be heard*
*comes back*
Ehm okay anyway so
First of all when did he die? Because if he died later on (and the age gap between him vs everyone else is the same) that means that he had to live at least 8 years without the entire server which just. Why would you do that to the poor boy he doesn't deserve this :(.
ANDD. If he died along with everyone else. It would make him the same age as everyone because they get reincarnated at the same time. Which is just. A whole 'nother can of worms
I NEED. ANSWERS. ALSO. I NEED A MOMENT TO CRY
oh you dont know how much ive tought about this I HAVE THE ANSWER
BIG TW for child death
this au starts from a sliiightly modified disk finale, as in - sam kidnapped michael, and put a Literal Toddlet who Can't swim in an underground room without exits. on a fuckin ISLAND
anyway everything goes as canon but the revengers find Michael already dead, because the room he was kept in flooded and he drowned. Yes zombie piglins cant actually drown ik im taking Artistic Liberty.
(this also does mean michael died alone and scared but we are NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT this is a FLUFF AU. everything is Fine)
which means that tubbo goes completely apeshit, and tommy with him (since at that point he was aleeady kinda going if not all gone) - and Boom, speedrum of the nuke finale, which leads to Everyone Dying, unlike canon where some people managed to save themselves.
wilbur is technically an ecception, but for the sake of the lore lets say he gets run over by a bus somewhere in utah.
NOW
fir reincarnations
ill explain this better in a prequel shot but basically this all ties into Kristin who manages to do this pulling a shitton of godly favors
and she like. doesnt want to traumatize all these people again, so the remembering part of the reincarnation is kind of staggered - first by when they died (as in, schlatt remembers way before tubbo) and by mental age they are in their new bodies (schlatt remembers at like, 15, but he gets the memories back slowly, so hes always the mental age hes supposed to be. hes never like, a 60 yo in the body of a teenager. This is barring the direct family of Kristin (phil and wilbur) and other god associated people (techno, foolish, puffy) (not dream. this is. a fluff au.)
Michael gets a special case. Technically he should remember around the time ranboo does, because they died within like a day of each other, but Kristin wants to avoid another "teen parents" situation - also considering that in the real world two gay teens would have. some kind of problems acquiring and raising a child.
So Michael remembers aroound six years old, and he doesnt remember Evrything. he starts out with the fluffy family stuff, enough to recognize his parents and friends, and then eventually, very slowly remembers the tragedy and trauma and stuff. Id say he finishes remembering around 15? and by that time hes been in therapy a bunch so theyre managing it.
Also, important, michael is six when beeduo is like. 27. So when they adopt him it looks like they had a chikd at like 21 which is young, but not outrageously young call cos young. Just so they can have a easier legal life that is

Alright, i keep seeing posts about the minecraft movie, so i might as well add my thoughts to the mix. Ramble below the cut.
So i was introduced to minecraft when i was super young. I played on a shitty old computer. My dad showed me how everything worked, and playing minecraft on this old computer while sitting on the couch with him is one of my oldest memories.
Minecraft became a beloved game to me. It’s kind of how i made friends. I had no access to the internet, no youtube, no discord. So i would go around my class in elementary school, asking if anyone played minecraft.
I played with some of my best friends. During the quarantine, i got into the dsmp, and then into hermitcraft. I played more and more, i built things, i created worlds and stories that i still remember and love.
When i heard there would be a minecraft movie, i was ecstatic. I had lists of headcanons, lore and stories i hoped i would see.
And i watched the trailer, and i didn’t see minecraft. I saw yet another whitewashed steve, ugly CG, and an unfaithful story.
I genuinely have so many issues with the trailer. The piglins are peaceful unless provoked. They attack because you are intruding on their home. They are not trying to come into the overworld and take over, you are going into the Nether and messing with their home.
And Steve. I mean… Jack Black is awesome, but Steve isn’t white! Steve isn’t even a separate character, Steve/Alex is the player, they are there to represent someone waking up in this new world and surviving, building something beautiful, getting attached to every pixel. The Steve in the trailer isn’t Steve.
I’ll just mention one more thing, because this would be stupidly long if i typed out all my thoughts. The CG. I don’t understand why it wasn’t animated. The Mario movie was animated, and while that had its own problems, the visuals were gorgeous! I gasped when i saw Rainbow Road. I also gasped when i saw the pink sheep, but for the opposite reason. Finding a pink sheep is one of the wonders of exploring the minecraft world, and they turned that experience into a cheep, ugly gag.
It’s not minecraft. I hope whoever wrote and designed that shit feels ashamed. I hope the movie flops. And i hope minecraft itself never turns into this shitty money-grab.

Minecraft Villager Rework Concept !
Minecraft Villager designs are antisemitic. They're huge-nosed, money-hungry, weak and ugly humans who are technologically primitive compared to the player, and they make Golems for crying out loud. All of that is already enough for it to be incredibly obvious, but I really refuse to believe it's some huge coincidence or whatever when they were made by Markus "Believing in race based privilege needing to be checked fits the literal definition of racism" Persson. They're antisemitic. I'm not going to argue with devil's advocates about this.
So, how can we improve Villagers? I thought of a simple change - Make them Piglins! Villagers were originally gonna be Pigmen anyway, so why not? It's the best way to fix this in my eyes. To be clear, their clothing and would stay the same, but they're remodelled to be Piglins instead. Perhaps a more tame variant resembling overworld Pigs?
Illagers and the witch too, for that matter! The Illagers could still be greyskinned, or they could just look more Piglin Brute-like. Obviously, the ominous banner and the many wool-statures of Illagers would also have to change. The Ravager could have a slight overhaul to make it more Hoglin-like, but would stay mostly the same. A twisted Magic experiment on an ordinary pig, perhaps.
The Iron Golems would also change a little bit. They'd stay mostly the same though, they'd just get a slightly more pig-like face and a name change - "The Iron Guardian". (And also, "Snow Golem" -> "Snow Guardian", no visual changes).
It would also have some lore implications that make sense to me. The Piglins likely don't come from the Nether, as they're one of the only Nether Mobs who don't have natural fire resistance. Ghasts, Wither Skeletons, Striders, Blazes, Magma Cubes? All immune. But not Piglins.
So, maybe a culture of Piglins ventured into the Nether, and got stuck. The harsh invironment bred a harsh culture. The trading once integral to their way of life became faster and quicker, as to not waste too much time with it, and to have plenty of opportunity to screw others over for your own benefit, and bartering was born. There's no emeralds to be found in the Nether, so they attributed value to a different treasure instead - gold. They attack the player because they don't know what the hell the player is. They could be dangerous, or an easy mark. It's only when the player wears gold - a Nether-Piglin symbol of power - that the Piglins know not to mess with them. As well as this, the Hoglins could be descended from overworld pigs, adapted to the Nether.
When Hoglins and Nether-Piglins enter the overworld, they very quickly get zombified. This pokes a bit of a hole in this concept and lore, but there's definitely a plausible explination somebody could pull out of their ass. Maybe it could be due to them not having as high a tolerence to the undead virus. Maybe the feature could just be removed, or something else I haven't thought of.
Obviously, I don't expect Mojang to actually do something like this. Whether I like it or not, Villagers are a pretty big part of Minecraft's brand. However, it would be a very cool mod. I might look into modding to see if I can make something like that happen, actually. If I do I'd definitely try to give it compatibility with the Guard Villagers mod.

I know full well that I've got an uphill struggle when it comes to marketing Various Types, because it's 2024 and everyone already uses Origins and thinks it's the bee's knees (and to their credit, Origins is a good mod), so you'll forgive me for harking on about VT but I do earnestly believe that it is more than viable as a competitor of the aging popular mod.
All this was true as well back when what is now Various Types was part of Various Oddities (which itself enjoyed some considerable popularity whilst Origins didn't share space in the same modloader), but I'll try and break it down a bit to drive home why I think it's worth giving a look:
First, it doesn't work like Origins. In Origins, you choose (or are randomly selected) a "origin", of varying levels of "impact" usually between 0 and 3. Depending on server config, you might get another one after dying, but that's it. This means the range of gameplay is only as diverse as the datapack in use, because each player is locked into just one component.
Various Types, in stark contrast, actually presents the player with a full-blown character creation system. You choose a species, which is similar to an origin, and are then able to choose templates that modify it. Moreover, those templates can be stacked on top of each-other, in different orders and with different results. So whilst the range of gameplay is still limited by datapack, it is roughly combinatorially massive. The default species and templates that presently ship in the alpha, by itself, theoretically offer up to 286 builds (template conditions permitting). The server has a "power" setting that helps to constrain how drastically overpowered characters can be, but the variations possible without even breaking 5 power are staggering against the dozen or so origins that Origins ships with even today.
This ultimately means that players are always able to be at least a little different to one-another. Even if they share the same species as the foundation of their character, an Insectile player is quite distinct to an Aquatic one.
Even among the less-impactful templates, a Gravekin Orkin (essentially a still-intelligent zombified piglin) has some stark distinction from a Reptilian Orkin (roughly a lizardman). Though personally, I'd rather not get on the bad side of either one of them, especially if they just heard me call them piglins...
Secondly, and by absolutely no means least, the core component of the mod (the character sheet) has intentionally been constructed such that it is incredibly easy for others to expand beyond its current and original confines.
Want to build a magic mod and need to track what spells people have and how much mana? All you need to do is register a couple things to the right registries, and it'll work just fine. Want to build a class system on top of it and player an Othall Ranger or Muckie Druid? Same thing, same ease.
In essence, and with no shred of hyperbole, Various Types has the capacity to be the foundational element of any conceivable per-player customisation mod. Just as long as people give it a chance.
Thirdly, the laborious devotion to clean visual aesthetics. I'm not gonna give Origins much sheet for this one, it's very much a product of its age from when Minecraft didn't really support anything that wasn't a texture rendered on a repeating dirt background.
But Various Types really fits in with the more recent era of Minecraft UI. The character creator screen alone really deserves a look. Each species can be given a distinct background to complement its lore or function, such as the Crioch species being from the End and therefore having an End City as their background, versus the sunny green forest background used by the Overworld-native Linn species.
Tumblr media
Every species, template, type, or ability can even be given custom lore text. All of them. The sheer volume of options for RP alone are staggering.
Oh, and did I mention that your avatar is visible in the creator screen? As well as the character sheet display screen?
Which doesn't sound like much on its face, you can see your skin in your inventory screen all the time after all. Except that's not actually a player being rendered in either screen.
It's a custom entity. With a custom model. That can play animations.
Tumblr media
Every time you open that screen, your avatar will wave at you to say hi. Stick around on it long enough, and you'll even see them strike a pose right out of a fighting game or casually sit down for a moment.
You can even see what your build will look like in full on the character sheet screen before you finalise it.
Tumblr media
And that screen is itself no slouch. It prioritises clean minimalism whilst still giving access to every detail of a given build.
Which is great, but especially so because Various Types has four favourite ability keys (which you can assign activated abilities to quickly and easily from the ability menu, from which you can also just click on any ability to activate it) and absolutely no limit on how many abilities you can have. Passive OR activated.
It's really more comparable to the UI screens of Minecraft Dungeons or Legends than anything on offer by any other mod in the same niche.
Seriously, go check this mod out. It's in alpha right now, but more or less the only thing missing from it is just more abilities, and I've got a list as long as my arm of those to implement.
