I care deeply about all my friends. I truly, madly, deeply do.
With that being said, why do they come to me with their relationship troubles? To the loveless aroace????
I cannot stress enough how quick I say "ok, dump them and move on" to them all the time. And they. keep. coming to me?????
I still listen but my sibling in Christ, I dont get it.

A Deep Dive into Milkvan and Byler's Development: If Milkvan Was Endgame All Along, Why Was it Written Like This???
SO. I've been rewatching st with my mother, who's never seen it before. And she was a fan of milkvan throughout seasons 1 and 2. Viewing those seasons again I could see why, they're cute. However, come season 3 and INSTANT distaste. And, listen, my mother is not the consciously shipping gal. She simply routes for main character pairings as writers intend, doesn't read between the lines, doesn't nothing. And she does NOT know my own opinions on the pairing. In other words, completely unbiased, uninternet drama influenced eyes. We've now reached season 3 and, after getting through a chunk of it, I asked her,
"so what do you think of Mike and El?"
and she expressed to me that they seem to be, quote:
"not very good together."
She said El's character doesn't suit the way she's acting now (in the first few episodes, concerning Mike), that Mike is more likeable and interesting when he's away from her. She doesn't like the way they ditched the party, and when it comes to their 'making out' the scenes are seen by her from Hopper's perspective (in other words, distasteful). She claimed that they'd be much better characters as friends.
And ya know what, she's right. And I mean like - duh, that's what we've been saying all this time, I'm not stating anything new here. But guys, wouldn't it be strange if the central couple of the show, pivotal that it is liked by audiences and is rooted for by them as they are THE pair, would be so dislikable like this? So uninteresting, so cliche.
I mean, okay, let's do a little mental experiment I like to do to test if I'm not just acting delulu. Let's play a game. In this game, milkvan ARE meant to be endgame. They are in love, they were all along, and they're here to draw in viewers and appease all El stans. Now, seasons 1 and 2 their relationship is honestly fine. Surface level, yeah, people will watch and appreciate them. They perfectly blend in with all the other neat pairings of the seasons, and have their own unique character traits to stand out as a main couple.
Just pretending our mate Will doesn't exist, we now get into season 3. Now, writers have nothing to lose here. If you've finished season 2, you probably like milkvan already. The issue is that they're already together now, so what's the conflict going to be? The arc? And every central couple needs that conflict to stay juicy.
Just take a look:
Jancy: quarrels, struggle to understand one another
Jopper: not yet together, one sided? will they won't they
Lumax: ...
Lumax? Lumax. Huh, guess they were simply together. Some loveable bickering, maintained a friendly dynamic while clearly in closer proximity. Well then, writers can do the same for milkvan right? Well, yes easily. But one might argue that since they are supposed to be THE pairing they need more going on between them than that. So what'll it be? Well, it seems that writers thought,
"hey, why not break them up?"
ok so.. that's a bit risky. I mean you want people to like this ship, if you break them up then that threats: 1. there being a disliking to one or both characters, 2. coming off generic if done incorrectly, 3. the break up might make no sense considering how in love they came off as just a season ago. But hey.. it could work, if done right. Some kind of misunderstanding, similar to Jancy. Maybe an argument leading to a sudden parting. I mean, yeah, Yeah! I can see that. Perhaps Mike is being too overprotective whilst El's trying to sacrifice herself for something, so she NEEDS to separate herself from him attempting to hurt him less. Or, I dunno, something akin. What's crucial is that us, AS THE AUDIENCE, still know them to be deeply in love. I mean, we have to still want them to be together. And we've seen couple trouble before. Just take a look at Lumax season 4 - did you or did you not want the best for both of them as a pair? You most likely did. See, it's doable. So did people like milkvan season 3 the same way, even after a separation plot? No.
Okay well, there are obviously those who'll always love milkvan no matter but, see, season 3 tainted it. "We need to write them like this cause it's more realistic to teenager behavior" my ars. You can make it messy without making it icky. Not only did it sour their unique dynamic, it flabbergastingly stomped on Mike as a character.
Honestly, I feel Mike has always been a mild struggle to write. Season 1 his motivations were 'find Will' (who still doesn't exist in our mind game yet shh) and 'protect El'. This worked well for him. Afterwards though, El and Will became more separate plots to him. But as a main character it remained integral that he be closely linked to them somehow. This sets him apart from Lucas and Dustin, who can easily be given any arc any season as their plots have the flexibility of a side quest nature. Since what Mike does is meant to matter more - with there probably being a better way of phrasing that but you know what I mean - it's harder knowing what he'll do when El and Will (who we'll GET to sh.) are their own separate people. And Mike is just a boy, he doesn't have super powers and he isn't a cop, which leaves there even less for him to do which is of significance. Season 2 writers decided upon having him support Will's arc, making himself of enough relevance by being able to take credit for some Will development in the story, and the plots that surrounded that, and then Mike was thrown a little bone by being the one to come up with the idea of burning those vines in the finale.
Truthfully, you don't really remember Mike's deeds much when reminiscing the series. It isn't like Dustin who's bond with Dart sticks to everyone, or Nancy and Jonathan responsible for kicking out Hawkins Lab. This is due to them, again, being able to traverse all sorts of adventures without limits. But my guy Mike can't do dat. Sadly, this kind of leads to him coming of as a little.. well... insignificant. And I know I know, the Mike truthers are gonna come at my throat. And hey! I love him too. I only want the best for my boy.
This makes season 3 a unique case cause it seems that, for the plot they decided they wanted, writers actually had to almost entirely change his character. I mean mate s2 Mike and s3 Mike are two different peoples, don't even. And I don't believe that the Duffers had their story and character turnouts completely drawn out from the very start at all. If I was to guess, I'd assume they have vague ideas of little plots they plan to include in future, but there is definitely a lot that has come unpredicted or changed throughout st's runtime. And one of those phenomenons are Michael Wheeler. So they decided to make this guy a di-
So they decided to make him more douchy, more movie typical teenage guy. It's not as if he wholly sucked, he didn't, but he didn't really do much. Whined about his girlfriend, separated the party. I mean what even was his arc? (UnLESS–)
You see, if milkvan is written to be loved, then season 3 was strike one. All of its charm was stripped away. It seems they had some cute scenes after their reconciliation, but it's not enough. It's just sort of
"oh, ok, so they're happy with eachother now. yayy."
and Stranger Things should want to be anything but boring. Sure they often enjoy indulging in tropes, but they always do something different with them. Something standoutish. And from this point on milkvan just got dull. Either writers ran out of ideas or lost interest, honestly (still with our mind game of telling ourselves they're meant to be).
But it's okay. Look, so season 3 was a bit rocky, maybe lost a couple of fans for the guys, but it is salvageable. Easily, easily. Looks like we want a plot of Mike struggling to tell El he loves her. Great! Much to work with.
So let's get into it. Season 4! Choices were... made. And, okay, now we can't go any further without bringing in our boy Will.
Mike is intrinsically tied to Will and El and has been from the start. Maybe Will was more of an accident. Maybe s1 Will was just a plot device for Mike, then s2 Will was a plot device again and Mike needed to be there as the main boy character. Come season 3 and it seems their relationship still matters. Will was sidelined - hard - so most of Mike's moments revolved around El. But as his bond with Mike is the only that's been properly built up, that's the only friend we'll get him interacting with in a way that matters. So the Mike and Will tie continues!
But that does not have to be the case for season 4. Now the writers have a chance.
They made Will gay.
Ok so.. ok so yeah that's fine. Yeah! I mean they didn't have to do that, might put them in hot water with the bylers since milkvan is their golden beauty but.. you know what no no that's okay. He's been hinted at being queer since episode 1, why not make it canon! Cool that works. Explore that, especially since we now have Vecna who can easily target Will for this. Give him a boyfriend! Or a guy crush. He's at a new school now? That's cool. Maybe we can explore some new male character Will's taken interest in. Hey maybe he meets someone who interests him which rises to surface his whole sexuality plot and-
he's in love with Mike.
Ok. No. No. What are you doing? What do you mean?? You didn't have to do that. Strike- strike EFING TWO mates! Strike. 👏 efing. 👏 2!
This was part 1. I am tired and gots to get my ars in bed. But ohohoh, do not worry. I am just getting started.

Ohhhhhhkayyyyyyy.......
*claps hands*
time to lose some fucking followers
So I haven't posted in a while because I'm currently battling a cold and a sinus infection, so most of my time is spent slowly rotting away and fusing with my bed, but during this time I've had the chance to think about some things regarding this blog and the stuff I post.
When I created this blog I didn't expect the amount of follows, likes and reblogs I got and while I'm grateful that people like my work a side effect is that I'm starting to not just put pressure on myself to produce content but also to produce sanitized, censored and morally 'approved' content.
And by this, I mean not making posts and sharing opinions that I know some people would deem problematic, especially when I see the blurbs on the blogs that follow me like 'pro-shippers dni' and stuff. I unconsciously started to mold my thoughts, opinions and subsequently posts to the expectations and restrictions I placed on myself which meant that whenever I wanted to make a post I'd have all these questions banging around in my head 'like is this okay?', 'will people like it?', 'will I lose followers?', 'will people think I'm a pro-shipper?', and so on. These questions were especially loud when I posted the answer to that RenTan ask and when I posted the male fanservice series. I don't want that, I don't want to question and second-guess myself every time I want to make a post, I don't want to run my blog based on the approval of others.
This blog is my safe space, it's where I can voice my opinions, problematic or not. I like to look at things from an unbiased and objective point of view and just because I can see the basis of a 'problematic' ship or character doesn't mean I support pedophilia, domestic violence, abuse etc. etc. Even when it comes to characters, storylines and ships that I may not necessarily like because ultimately this is fiction, these are 2d characters born from someone's amazing imagination, so live and let live.
If you have a problem with this, my blog, and my posts, feel free to unfollow and block me. I appreciate your support for my past posts and I understand if you don't like my blog anymore but don't go on posting negative comments or 'ew' reblogs of my posts in a misguided, self-righteous attempt to prove to yourself that you're a 'good' person. I'll just delete them and block you.
I also won't be answering 'morality-fishing' asks, I don't have to prove my 'goodness' to anyone just to get them to follow and approve of my blog and content. As long as the ask is polite and genuine, I will answer to the best of my knowledge, giving both biased and unbiased opinions.
The #KnYFansAreFuckingStupid posts have been deleted because they're kinda mean-spirited and serve no purpose except to make myself feel like one of the 'smart' fans. I would rather make posts that debunk misinformation by providing as many links and resources as possible than condemn people who believe them because we've all gobbled and spread misinformation at some point or another. I will still condemn people who complain and say bad stuff about queer ships because fuck you.
In Conclusion, no more sanitized, censored or pandering posts. This is Demon Slayer Unhinged, not Demon Slayer Morality Reassurance or Demon Slayer Puritan and Sanitized. My goal is to try to deliver good, quality analyses and shitty memes.
And for those of you who still choose to read my shit. Thank you for trusting me with your time, your asks and your content. It means a lot to me. Thank you. 🩷🩷🩷

AU where students from the same middle school aren't placed in the same class at UA
I guess it's a good thing that no middle schools get more than two kids into the hero track then...
1- Sorry Bakugou and Mina, you're getting put in 1B to separate you from people you know. (This has got to be a weird social experiment for Nedzu, giving his students "fresher" starts maybe? He did that to poor Tamaki and Mirio too huh) In their place are Ibara and Awase. (It should probably be Ibara and Nirengeki but 💙 Awase is a favorite 💙)
2- Mina and Itsuka are the Big Sisters team of Class 1B, the vice and class representative respectively. Mina is the cool big sister who lends you makeup and cheers you up, and Itsuka is the big sister who fixes your haircut and covers for you from Mom. Anyone in class 1B would kill for either of them. The reverse is also true. Well...... Almost anyone in 1B would kill for them... Mina is also going to make sure that 1B has the most fabulous culture festival on record for UA, ever.
3- Bakugou considers his class a bunch of extras and dislikes how him being the entrance exam winner did not win him the class election automatically, nor how Monoma pivots to being open about disliking him after a few hours of knowing him. ("It's tragic, but better one bad member of a class than twenty of them, 1A. Well, one bad member and a TRAITOR, MINA, I SEE YOU HANGING OUT WITH DISCOUNT TETSUTETSU."). That said, he slowly begins to respect some of his classmates: Itsuka (for controlling Monoma), Shishida and Honenuki (raw power + composure), and Setsuna (good test of power.) He thinks Vlad is an ok teacher, and he does excell at increasing the raw damage his students deal on the battlefield.
4- Ibara, in contrast, gets more training from Aizawa about dext and using minimal vines for the max purpose, rather than as much as possible. She has tea with Tokoyami and Momo often, and Momo reports that she isn't sure if the other two are on the same page or not, because their speech is very dramatic and they're either portending doom or debating spiritualism. But either way they keep meeting so?? Friendship I guess?? She and Sato bake for the dorm every week, and Izuku goes to her for help with Black Whip (she only tries an exorcism once)
5- Awase is just so cool so everyone in 1A loves him too I think this is a very unbiased opinion for me to have. He's got a friendly rivalry with Sero, likes to spar with Ojiro, and has the most incomprehensible arguments with Kaminari when they should be going to bed. Izuku gets excited to work with him and his quirk in groups, (his sharp language is familiar, but warm, and there's something else about him that's familiar, at the back of Izuku's mind, where he can't quite reach... ) and Awase appreciates him.

Can I just say how much I appreciate the fact you don't stray much from the movies?
It's just so refreshing to see a fic that is built on a clear, unbiased and simple canon base. This way, as you demonstrated, a writer not only has the ability to further explore the main themes and ideas introduced in the source material, but they can also go ahead and naturally develop their own by branching out on those fundamentals. They can offer their perspective by using the source material to their advantage, instead of working against it or even worse, trying to include all contradicting canon aspects. Part of writing a fic is kind of like offering your input in a conversation/disagreement. You have to listen carefully to what the other person is saying in order to form your answer...If you're listening to a thousand different people who are all saying a different thing (in this case, The clone wars, legends, novels, comics ect), you won't be able to give an answer that makes sense, much less give a structured and stable opinion.
I love how you were like "I know star wars is entering an era of a shit ton of spin off content with seemingly no end and most star wars fans know shit like who chewie lost his virginity to and what the kessel run is but screw this. The movies and maybe some late night wiki research is enough."
And you were right.
It's so funny, because I feel like I do ultimately stray pretty far from the movies. Not in terms of events I guess, but especially the prequels, I reject some of the underlying assumptions of what is said on screen and just treat it like fallible people strongly asserting opinions that no one calls them on. See: everything I ever assert about the Force/Anakin's "destiny."
I do think it helped me to stick with limited material. And it wasn't even because I saw all of this new SW content coming. I've mentioned this before, but when I started writing Don't Look Back (when it was just Like Fire and I naively believed I was gonna be done in 200k words, lol, rip past me) I hesitated a lot because as far as I was concerned, I wasn't a Star Wars Fan.
I'd watched the OT and PT multiple times. I knew that novels and games and cartoons existed, I knew people had consumed them all. I had been reading some SW fic because @mylongsufferingroommate had been sending me stuff they were enjoying and I was having fun with it. But like, I would never have called myself a Fan. I got goaded into writing this fic by people who knew me too well and really wanted a political thriller. I wouldn't have called them Star Wars Fans either.
Limiting myself to the six movies I had watched was a preemptive defense mechanism against a fan base I wasn't sure would want to accept me. My thin skin is my own problem, but every time I think about writing in a new fandom the same sort of nerves take me: what if my fanon is "wrong" and people are mean?
I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you so much to everyone who gave me a chance and encouraged me and were excited and shared that excitement.
And please, for the love of all the sky and stars DON'T GATEKEEP FANDOMS.
Don't tell people their canon is too big (@blue-sunshine-mauve-morning and @chancecraz have amazing fics that are much more compliant than mine to the broader canon, as a quick example), and definitely don't tell people their canon is too small. Walk away if you aren't enjoying something. Give compliments when you like something that is unique in a fandom you're familiar with. Be patient with people, be kind.
I could easily have given this story up if people hadn't been patient with me. I got comments as early as my first chapter from people who were angry with a single thing that I said and felt the need to tell me I was wrong. I could have left. I could have stopped.
I'm glad I didn't. But I wonder how many other people have.

Hii, how are you doing??
Me and my friend were having a debate, so I decided to ask some people what they think… If you had to rank the bat-siblings on who’s the favorite, how’d you do it?? Also why would you rank it that way??
Thanks!
I guess you mean who is the other sibling’s favourites? I'd look for evidence in comic book panels, of course.
And in my honest and unbiased opinion 😉 Dick is the undisputed favourite of Tim and Damian. Tim has been a Dick Grayson fanboy since he was introduced, and they were written as having an adorable, brotherly relationship for years, going from serious heart to hearts to teasing and fooling around, depending on the mood and circumstances. And Damian learned to respect and appreciate Dick while they were working together (those of us who love them together will never let go of “we were the best”).
Jason, I guess it would be Dick for him too? I know it was a thing during the New 52 to write Tim and Jason as regarding each other as the only brother they liked, or some such nonsense, but it really is nonsense with no history behind. Before Flashpoint, Jason shot Tim and left him for dead in a cave. After, they're best buddies without explanation? Anyway, we've seen Dick and Jason hang out a few times since Rebirth started, and as far as I know, that's more than can be said for anyone else? But then, I don't know much about what's been going on with Jason the last couple of years. Maybe he's developed a soft spot for the baby in the family, or something?
But when it comes to Dick, I really can't say if it would be Tim or Damian. He has grown very close to both of them in different ways. Jason is more complicated - they had a good but not close relationship when Jason was new (don't believe any fan that says that Dick was a bad brother) and they have a good relationship now, but they definitely had a couple of rough years in between. Jason killed people dressed as Nightwing, he shot Tim and Damian and was generally villainous during the second DickBats era.
And that's the only characters I can formulate opinions about. I'm not even sure they're supposed to be brothers at this point, because for all that Tim Taylor lets Dick and Bruce call each other dad and son, I’ve yet to find solid support for that anyone is adopted after Flashpoint.

I'm maybe 1/3rd of the way through Mass Effect and I guess I'm being normal about it because I'm not emotionally hyped to rip it apart even though it's not very good.
The combat is clunky, but I have a soft spot for third person shooters (though I guess technically this game switches between third and first person shooting). I started out as Vanguard, but then restarted the game as Infiltrator after deciding that fit my style better and absolutely zero regrets on that choice. It's all about pistols and sniper rifles and not having to rely on your companions for decryption and electronics.
The writing could be better, but the characters are likeable enough and the plot serviceable enough and the worldbuilding bad enough I'm not encouraged to take any of it too seriously. Idk, I just can't take any of these fake alien species and their fake politics seriously. Like, the Asari, c'mon? The weird incel breeding obsession they're exploring with the Krogan? Hanar and Elcor being funny speak foreigners? Quarians clearly spoofing China's old one child policy that we were all obsessed with in the aughts? Just the way that male is the default gender for all these aliens unless it's fuckable? Idk, I know that alien species in media are going to be reflections of humanity but... you could have reflected something less transparent than gender existentialism and orientalism, lmao. It's just so fourth wall breaking, it's funny instead of offensive. At least in my opinion.
My favourite part of the game so far is RPing military personnel tbh. I don't feel this fits well with the morality system, but I am absolutely loving playing sole survivor PTSD compassion fatigued Shep - trying her best to be professional and give a good face to humanity and the Alliance. Never failing to be polite to her superiors, but acting out violence and aggression on 'acceptable' targets. Strutting through a world of civilians who have to follow rules that she doesn't, walking into situations and making snap decisions about who are the sheep and who are the wolves - who she is or isn't justified in using force and threats to control. Idk, it's fucking great.
Yeah, but the morality system so far my worst gripe. I think in general the Lawful Good Paragon vs Chaotic Evil Renegade axis is really not in line with the story being told - friend of mine said really the conflict probably more in line with Lawful Evil vs Chaotic Good if you're going to reduce things to this single axis in the first place. And personally I think we need a separate axis for Shep's attitude towards alien races apart from any hastily adapted dnd & star wars morality systems. Ubb- But all of that aside I really don't like having my dialogue choices restricted. I don't mind a pass-fail mechanic where my attempt at intimidation doesn't work if I'm not practiced enough in it, but I feel I should at least be able to say what I want in the situation I want. So yeah, I took advantage of the bug at Noveria to max both scales bc fuck this.
Also annoying DA2 style dialogue wheel where I press an option and watch my character say something wildly different than I would have guessed based on the text I clicked. Doi!
Ashley and Garrus are my current favourites. I appreciate Ash's clear lower class POC military brat background and the way it's influenced her prejudices. (Idk, another thing I like about this game was the super HR approach to dealing with this shit. Like... yeah, rather than 'fixing' everyone involved into having the proper unbiased opinions on these issues, you sort of have to accept that everyone involved has their baggage and convince them its in their best interest to set that aside so we can work together effectively anyhow.) And I appreciate Garrus being a raging hypocrite. Brought him to Noveria and watched him complain about companies moving there to avoid legal and political oversight, like- Bitch. Isn't that what you did when you quit being a cop and decided to stowaway on my ship? So you could shoot people without having to file paperwork about it 🤔

Hi Mark! Absolutely fine if you don't wanna answer because I know you're a big fan - so am I, technically - but you're the first person I felt like going to with this. Again, no need to turn this into discourse, though, if you're not comfortable with the topic. It's about this anon information about Carmen and brands she promotes:
https://www.tumblr.com/wejustvibing/735261797962203136/i-think-tommy-attempting-to-do-something-with
And I was wondering if you know which ones are meant/if you think she is (should) be aware of that? Again, only if you want to comment. This stuff is important to me, so I'll guess I'll look into it too, but I like your straightforward opinions. I don't know how articulate better. Don't feel pressured to answer, however!
Hi anon, first of all I just want to say I’m genuinely thankful as to how you phrased this ask, it’s incredibly polite and i really appreciate that. Sometimes I get asks that feel a bit like a demand and those end up being the ones I avoid. You’ve been super respectful here and that means a lot. I’m not looking to start a discourse here either and I wont engage with it, but I figured I’d answer to say what I thought and leave it at that. Everyone is entitled to draw their own lines on this kind of thing, and they may be different to mine.
I think I have to split this answer into a couple small clusters and add a starting disclaimer
I don’t say this to defend her or whatever, but the original anon in that post is already coming in with a set feeling, and their language reflects that. Carmen isn’t a full time influencer, she very much has a job of her own and literally just finished a charity ride from London to Paris with them. Say what you want about the nature of her job in finance, or her position in the paddock, (plus jobs should not be used as a reflection of worth and respect), but she has one. I’m guessing the anon may not mean that and might be referencing past posts, but I don’t follow op so I don’t know.
Additionally, the op of that post, as far as I’m aware, is no longer a George fan, if they ever considered themselves one. So if you’re taking info from their posts and anons about George, it’s unlikely to be framed in the best light. Op is very much allowed to do that, you wouldn’t come to me for unbiased info on Max Verstappen and Kelly piquet would you? Of course not, I’m set in my feelings and I’m not gonna answer asks praising him, but I might share stuff pointing out crummy things he does because it reinforces my feelings. That’s just how tumblr works, I’m not saying it as any kind of insult or accusation, it is LITERALLY how we all blog post.
What I’m trying to say is while there and elements of truth in that post it’s… the way it’s conveyed is a bit twisted by the anon, and even op is pointing that out. If she has pull, they’ll keep sponsoring her.
Yes, Carmen does a lot of sponsor work… as does George, every time he steps into the paddock. As does LEWIS when he chooses what he dresses in. We often write off drivers sponsor work because we see it as a side obligation of their jobs, like how just today we had new Petronas photos of George and Lewis at their campuses/worksites. Much as we all, really want to ignore it bc it’s not fun to think about, Petronas is an oil and natural gas company, that wants you to think it’s green so bad. Every single person in the paddock has moments they choose money over ethics, even if it’s for a greater good eventually, it is what they do.
I don’t know specifically which brands the original anon is referencing when they mention homophobia and autism eugenics, but the note about Israel is probably linked to DIOR. While I firmly believe in following the BDS boycott, we just aren’t going to see these people do that. And comparably it’s a non starter when Lewis and George are walking around in puma Brand race suits and sport clothing, and Lewis wears Dior himself. What I’m saying is while I think they shouldn’t be wearing it, they’re on a level ground. I tried to do a little research on the recent stuff she’s been promoting, and came up without much result, BUT I’m so painfully not aware of the fashion scene. As my friends are deeply aware, and laugh at me for.
Could she stop wearing these things? Absolutely, and she should. She should also educate herself on these topics. But what I think should happen, and what I expect are two different things in the world of sport and influence. She’s not a driver, but she is almost certainly looking to expand into some level of fashion and model work alongside her job, because it’s something she enjoys. In the same way Lewis worked hard to build his brand and reputation with fashion houses who fight to clothe him now, she’s making connections for herself while working remotely as she travels with George. What she’s doing is no different than what the drivers do for themselves, the change is that we are not privy watch her do her job (can you imagine if there was an entertainment market for watching accountants lmao)
I think sometimes there’s a tendency in fandom to needle the partner people of the paddock for things we shake off their partners doing without blinking. It’s fine for Lewis and George to wear puma it’s their sponsor they probably aren’t thinking about that - but if George’s partner wears a famous brand like Dior, she should know better. Lewis and george promoted ftx, a now notoriously bankrupt crypto investment scene, and we just all went “well that sucks but they’re in a bubble of a different world, so we’ll ignore it”. While, it’s unlikely that Carmen is actively choosing to ignore these problems, she exists in that bubble with George, where they’re comfortable to only toe into charity and betterment when they feel like It isn’t interrupting their day. Lewis said it himself recently, he’s on the road so much he ends up unable to catch up with it all, if even someone as equality conscious as Lewis struggles to stay up to date, someone who isn’t minded like that probably doesn’t even notice (again, im not saying thats a good thing, it isnt, but it is the reality of it)
I’m also not surprised Tommy is clothing her, nor should any of us be. If Lewis had a committed partner who visited the track, Tommy would likely be reaching out to her too- Carmen gives them a chance to showcase their feminine clothing lines that they wouldn’t otherwise be able to do in the way they use Lewis and George. As much as we all want George and Lewis to rock up in a dress and blouse, it ain’t happening. By paying Carmen to show up in their clothes alongside George, they get to show another half of the market what they might be interested in, if they aren’t going to buy the masc clothes George and Lewis wear. If they could get Susie Wolff to do it too they probably would, the difference is that Carmen is only there for George, Susie has an independent job to do and showing up in sponsored clothing would undercut that message. Tommy aren’t favouring George by clothing Carmen, they’re just trying to buy more influence. YOU are allowed to not be comfortable with that, but there’s not an ulterior motive to it either.
I spose the summary of this post is that accepting the reality of something doesn’t mean you’re okay with it, it just means you don’t lose energy over a likely outcome. In essence this what I do with Carmen. I treat her much like the drivers, held accountable but with a certain realism to it, and I don’t judge her more harshly than them, cause thats a brand of sexism I see a lot online- the drivers are babies just trying to go vroom but their partners should know better- grow the hell up.
I don’t like when Lewis and George represent crypto, or AI, or oil based companies- but in a sport like F1 they are going to do that. A lot. And instead of letting those instances demoralise me, I ignore them and try to refuse to give them the marketing they are paying for, while instead promoting and encouraging when they support the things I do. In an advertising marketplace you are the product, by speaking up and creating positive attention around something you want them to keep doing, it becomes profitable for them to do so. Is that fucked and capitalist as hell? Fuck yeah! It sucks! But its not going ANYWHERE any time soon, and if you use it to your advantage you can do good- I grew up watching as brands lurched away from any mention of gay people- to pride icons and pink washing. Change happens in strange ways. I hate pink washing but FUCK am I glad that it’s profitable to be sold to. I’d rather be sold to than silenced and othered.
Well that was a bit of a heavy one wasn’t it, welcome back to the cash is king sport.

I have to disagree - Jungkook and Taehyung are not best friends. I guess maybe we have different definitions of what a best friend is. I would say that they’re friends because of circumstance (casual friends) but they don’t have a strong emotional bond or have much in common. You can tell by their interactions. It’s crickets/silence/awkwardness when they interact on camera in live streams. They have defaulted many times to talking about the weather which is something you do with coworkers or casual acquaintances when you don’t have much in common besides work. They don’t hang out alone, always in a group setting. That’s not best friends. Jungkook and Jimin are the pairing that seem like best friends - who have a lot in common, have deep conversations and spend a lot of one-on-one alone time together.
I appreciate your point of view, but I have to disagree on the basis that how we view their friendship is not the same as knowing the reality of their friendship.
Some people consider folks their best friend and they only see them twice a year. They may speak on the phone consistently, may be each others go to whenever in town together, or what have you. Or in the context of being world famous, they grew up together and have a forged a bond that sets each other apart from how they view their other industry friends and friends from their lives prior to fame.
So when I say as far as I know, Tae and JK are best friends the way Jimin and JK are, it’s not me comparing the two pairings. It’s me stating a fact as far as what the members have said. Yes, I have my own opinions on what appears to set them apart from each other, and I do agree with you to an extent that Tae and JK don’t seem to have an overwhelmingly deep connection outside of being band mates who have a lot of fun hanging out, but that doesn’t mean that’s how it is for them.
I’m also not saying there isn’t any video and audio evidence of them talking about their friendship as not being super close, but again, we can’t decide their explanations of their relationship negates them calling each other best friends. We as fans do not have that right to choose the depth of their connection, even if it doesn’t seem to fully apply from our perspective.
I also don’t think it’s fair to label Tkk as a casual friendship or for Tkkrs to demand proof of friendship entirely from Jikook, when no other pairing within the group is put under this much scrutiny. For example, none of the members seem to hang out with Jin (prior to enlistment, obviously) all that much except for Tae. Yet I have never seen anyone claim Jin is growing apart from or aging out of the group. I’ve never see anyone say he only has a casual bond with the others. Namjoon and JK also don’t hang out that much from what I recall, maybe even the least of all the pairings, and still all I hear about Namkook is how much love, admiration, and adoration flows between them.
It’s almost exclusively the maknae line ships with JK being pulled in the middle, and I don’t agree with that. I think he has very different relationships with both of them, but they’re both his best friend. It just manifests in different ways, and the reason Tkk seems more casual, is because that’s how JK is with every other member besides Jimin. He simply does not have unedited, unbiased, questionable moments with any other member, no matter what one’s bias ship is.
As such, I genuinely just don’t feel like there’s a reason to let anything Tkkrs say hold much weight. Tae and JK are best friends as far as we all know, based on their own explanation of their bond, and it’s just as cute as all the other pairings within the group. Nothing is going to change my mind about that (not saying you’re trying to) until one of them tells us different.

First off, you have to excuse my English because I’ll say it’s good but not great yet, but I have learned a ton from constantly reading English books and blogs. Anyway, I found your Tumblr recently and am curious to hear your thoughts on something I realized. Something I haven’t heard talked about is the repeating ties that Jancy’s narrative has to older times (just as Stancy’s narrative does). It’s my unpopular opinion I guess, but as a Stoncy shipper I enjoy both Stancy and Jancy as individual ships—so the fact that each couple have some striking similarities, almost as striking as their differences, kind of makes sense in my mind. But anyway, back to my point. Jancy’s first kiss is set to the sound of Billie Holiday. Their season three plot with Driscoll puts them in an understated, vintage color palette and soundtrack, especially compared to other character’s aesthetics in the third season (bright colors, modern new mall, modern music and Madonna, advanced Russian technology and facilities, and so on). Nancy in the fourth season is pretty heavily tied to the Creels and she is the only character that watches the events unfold of Henry’s childhood in the 1950s Creel house. Jonathan’s clothes also feel like very old, though that also could be hinting at the financial loss of the Byers family. Maybe I am reading too much into it, but overall I do associate Jancy with a different time period, and to me they feel completely disconnected from almost every aspect of the modern Hawkins, like instead they should be off in their own little world and time. All that being said, I find it so interesting that instead, the writers chose to draw Stancy to the past instead, as in the Light Bright room scene, where Nancy reads her diary entry of Steve and realizes they are stuck in old times. Obviously I understand what that was going for, that Nancy has history with Steve and he represents her past self or her roots maybe. But that makes the big question for me (because in my mind I truly am not sure that either couple will be endgame)…could the vintage motifs in Jonathan and Nancy’s love story be hinting at a similar fate to their relationship as Stancy’s probable ending. Is it that the writers think Jonathan, as well as Steve, are holding onto a past version of Nancy and therefore neither boy can be her future in the end? Hell, I am so confused! I think it’s all so interesting though. Anyway, sorry for the long message, but I love your thoughts on Jancy and wondered if you picked up on any of this or if I’m crazy!
Hi Anon! Thanks for the ask, you have some very interesting ideas and points here that I haven’t really considered before. I also appreciate that your thoughts come from an unbiased place as a jancy/stancy/stoncy supporter. That gives you such a unique perspective!
(Also, your English is amazing, truly. And even if it wasn’t as amazing as it is, the fact that you are able communicate in a language you’re not totally comfortable with is amazing!! Take it from me, an American, whose educational system and culture basically deter learning a non-English language so much so that they intentionally “teach” languages way past the known developmentally appropriate time so that students don’t truly learn and retain the language... sorry. Mini rant.)
I guess the major difference when comparing Stancy to Jancy and their connection to the past is that when it happens with Stancy, it is always done so in direct regard to their relationship: we have the Tom cruise poster that Nancy says is “old” which is a direct reference to Steve in season 1 (says Carol thinks he looks like him and calls Tom Cruise Nancy’s “loverboy”) and season 2 (Halloween costumes), we have the diary entry in the Upside Down (UD) that follows with a Stancy flashback that I think is there to show that not only is the UD stuck in the past, but stuck on the night Will disappeared, specifically. We also see Vecna bringing up Nancy and Steve’s first time having sex to taunt Nancy about Barb’s death and place blame on Nancy.
I think so much of the Stancy scenes in ST4 and all the Stancy scenes throughout the show that reference their past allude to one thing: Barb. I will forever be angry that Nancy’s Vecna moment finally facing Barb’s death and the weight of that guilt got completely overshadowed by Vecna’s big reveal in ST4 only to never be referenced again. And, I think so much of Nancy’s guilt is intertwined with Steve and there’s so much unresolved there.
I made a post during the break between ST4 vol. 1 and 2 detailing how the current season threw in so many references to the night Steve and Nancy broke up, where she called him “bullshit” and blamed Barb’s death on them. I also talked about how their relationship (platonic, romantic, or otherwise) is stuck on that night, where they’re not able to move past that until they pick up that bathroom conversation which, I believe, will ultimately help Nancy move on from the weight of Barb’s death. That’s honestly why I think Stancy has returned for Nancy’s character arc. I think Steve letting Nancy go or realizing he doesn’t need a romantic partner is his arc. But I am biased and I’ll freely admit that.
So Stancy’s ties to the past are directly linked to their romantic relationship (and usually those early days of that relationship). Jancy, on the other hand, do have these historical allusions but this history is not associated with their actual relationship at all. I think the only time Jancy really refer to their own past is when they discuss “what happened” to them between ST1 & ST2 at the motel and when Jonathan references Murray at the end of ST3.
I believe in season 2 the choice to have jazz music at Murray’s play was to promote their scenes as their romantic. In the will-they-won’t-they prelude to their first kiss, the lyrics playing aptly describe the situation: “I want you so now / You have the lips I love to touch / You'd better go now, you'd better go / Because I like you much, too much.”
In season 3, the music choice at Mrs. Driscoll’s may be related to her age or they could be playing up the old-timey reporter duo trope from, like, the 1940s. It is interesting too that other old-timey music (i.e. We’ll Meet Again – Vera Lynn) was used in ST3 without connection to Jancy/Mrs. Driscoll. I genuinely don’t know what that means, but, since the music was in reference to supernatural occurrences (flayed victims/Meat flayer) it could be a reference to Henry/001/Vecna since that would be the era of music he is familiar with, just like how “Dream a Little Dream of Me” was used to announce his presence in Max’s happy memory in ST4. (That would be super cool if that was the case!)
In terms of clothing and Jancy, the costume department and creative teams have always been very explicit that clothing choices for the Byers are made with their financial situation in mind. It’s been years, but there have been interviews and articles that mention that Jonathan’s wardrobe in season 1 is “older” due to probably being bought second-hand or trying to make the clothes last longer. We even see in ST1 that one of his sweaters (his beautiful cream one <3) has moth holes in the collar. We also see Joyce wearing Jonathan’s old shirts, Jonathan wearing multiple clothing staples across seasons, and costuming discussed how the boy’s Ghostbusters’ outfits in ST2 are all different depending on what each family was able to afford (Mike’s family was able to buy the newest, best costume from the store while Joyce was shown hand making pieces of the costume for Will throughout the first two episodes).
Additionally, while promoting ST3 costuming mentioned that Nancy’s (and by the transitive property, Jonathan’s) outifts were inspired by her boyfriend’s New Wave tastes (brighter colors, sharper patterns and lines, iirc) So, I think their outfits are not exactly supposed to make us conjure up images of previous decades.
Because of how different the concept of “the past” is used for Stancy (directly tied to their relationships’ past) and Jancy (vintage motifs that could very much be unrelated to their relationship), I don’t think the situations are comparable. You mention that both boys may be “holding onto a past version of Nancy and therefore neither boy can be her future” but I think the narrative has only suggested that for Steve, and only partially.
I would argue that Steve’s not even holding onto a past version of Nancy, I think he is romanticizing their relationship with an idealistic (not an accurate) version of Nancy at the center. When Steve mentions his dream of Nancy being his wife and mother to their six nuggets, this doesn’t sound like future Nancy but it also doesn’t sound like the Nancy he previously dated. This is why I think Steve’s arc will involve letting Nancy go/finally getting closure on their relationship and seeing it for what it was.
Jonathan, alternatively, recognizes Nancy’s ambition, sees her for who she is, and is very much supportive of Nancy’s future and the future she wants for herself; so much so that he deeply fears holding her back and is willing to let her go so she can succeed (when what he should actually do is talk to her. I don’t want to romanticize his approach: it’s bad and it’s actively hurting Nancy, but I do think one can sympathize with his actions while agreeing there’s a better approach).
You also mention that “[Jancy] feel[s] completely disconnected from almost every aspect of the modern Hawkins, like instead they should be off in their own little world and time” and I completely agree. It’s like when they’re interacting on screen together, they’re the only two present. Part of that is because when they speak with one another it's always in this quiet, intentional way. Idk what else to add, this is just actually one of my favorite things about them.
Thank you so much for the ask, Anon! This was a lot of fun and forced me to consider things in ways I haven’t thought about before. Also, a huge thank you to @p-zombiee for talking this through with me (as it is super confusing and I kept getting lost in it myself!)

Howdy!🤠 How are you? I sent a ask idek how long ago and I wanted to send more but idk what to say lmao😭😭😭
Anyways I listened to unhealthy obsession by RafScarp after a few of your post, and it’s awesome!! I also listened to some of her phantom of the opera covers since I’d seen you mention you liked it? (tbh I’m not 100% sure so forgive me if I’m wrong🥲😃) and it has some good songs?! The movie still kinda scares me though so I won’t be watching it😅 but I’ll enjoy the music😌
Anyways thanks for letting me ramble😅😌
-🍓
PS, Your writing is beautiful!😌😌
PSS, I apologize if my grammar or punctuation is bad, I’m just writing this as if I’m texting a friend…😅💀
Hello again, I am glad you enjoy Rafscrap’s work! She is an amazing singer and artist, and it is a shame that she isn’t more widely recognised.
You are correct, I do like Phantom of the Opera and the music is phenomenal (in my unbiased opinion). Perhaps one day you can watch the film (the 2004 one, I am guessing?) and then you can tell me your thoughts about it. There is also a sequel musical as well if you are interested. The plot does not make the most sense and it is largely unpopular, but I think some of the songs are good regardless.
P.S. Thank you.
P.S.S. Your writing is fine, don’t worry. The casualness feels honest, and I appreciate that.

I wish I had a dad to sit down and watch Val Kilmer movies with. I just finished watching Willow and would’ve loved to have a dad who’d converse with me about the time it came out etc.
My dad was absent. I missed out on so much. You’re lucky. Enjoy those moments for me.
hi anon, i’m sorry it took me four days(?) to answer this ask, i hope you’re reading this right now ❤️
i was really touched to see this in my inbox the other day. i don’t quite know how to put it into words, but it means a lot to me that other people can appreciate our relationship, i guess. i count myself lucky every day to have him, and i treasure every moment we spend together when i’m living at home. moving away for college was a drag at first, but i visit as often as i can manage.
needless to say, i’m sorry for everything you missed out on growing up, and that you had to watch willow alone. there are plenty of things a mom or a close group of friends are good for, and i hope you were able to enjoy those to the fullest, but i know what moments you’re talking about. i wish i could share them with you.
that said, you sent this ask to me at just the right time, because my dad and i watched willow together yesterday night! :’) it was his first time watching and technically mine too, since i watched it a long time ago when i was a kid and barely remembered it. of course, my dad absolutely LOVED it. he would not stop asking about where val kilmer was until he showed up in the cage and then he instantly fell in love with madmartigan and his deranged ways. he thought the crossdressing scene was peak comedy and i think he’ll be quoting madmartigan’s poetry for months. he wouldn’t stop talking about how much he loved the special effects either: “this is what movies used to look like back when they were good” this, “they don’t make ‘em like this anymore” that, etc. LOL
it really was a great movie all in all! rated 10/10 and dad-approved ✔️ and now that we’ve watched it he wants to show me tombstone as well so i feel the need to ask, my cinephilic friend, have you seen it? he claims it’s an absolute must-watch but my mom says it sucks and started shitting on it so i need an unbiased opinion LMFAO
i hope i hear from you again! feel free to send another ask or dm me if you have more to say, and have a wonderful evening 🥰

*Sighs* Well, guess I'm filing this one under, "It's just not for me."
Detective Conan Movie 17: Private Eye in the Distant Sea was just not an enjoyable watch for me. Even the beginning of the movie was a little sluggish in my opinion and the only thing really redeemable about it was the last half hour or so. And maybe the side plot with the one shot character, Yuki.
I don't know, I think I'm just not the right audience for a case like this. I don't really care all that much about sea warcrafts or what have you. Kinda felt like the plot was just a little too heavy and just not something I could really get myself fully invested in. I zoned out a couple of times if I'm being honest.
That said, the budgets for these movies certainly give initiative for the animators to have fun with these. I think it not only looks better a lot of times than regular episodes (especially the fillers, of course) but you get a lot more action going on.
Nice to see that this wasn't the only movie they allowed Ran to get in more of her fighting on screen. It always feels so much like a gag in the regular series and I'm guessing a lot of that is due to time constraints. So I do appreciate that they really kick it into gear for the movies.
And, well, I always make this obvious, but being a ShinRan shipper, I do always so love little moments the movies put in. Might not be canon compliant to the series and it might create some plotholes, but I am such a sucker for sweet little moments between these two.
That said, I don't have much else to say about this movie. It was passable, but in my eyes, it's just not a fun watch.
So I think you can see where this might be going.
1.) The Raven Chaser (13th Movie)
2.) The Fourteenth Target (2nd Movie)
3.) The Lost Ship in the Sky (14th Movie)
4.) The Time Bombed Skyscraper (1st Movie)
5.) Magician of the Silver Sky (8th Movie)
6.) Captured in Her Eyes (4th Movie)
7.) Crossroad in the Ancient Capital (7th Movie)
8.) Quarter of Silence (15th Movie)
9.) The Phantom of Baker Street (6th Movie)
10.) Countdown to Heaven (5th Movie)
11.) Strategy Above the Depths (9th Movie)
12.) The Private Eyes' Requiem (10th Movie)
13.) Full Score of Fear (12th Movie)
14.) The Eleventh Striker (16th Movie)
15.) The Wizard of the Last Century (3rd Movie)
16.) Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure (11th Movie)
17.) Private Eye in the Distant Sea (17th Movie)
I do plan to make it a goal to rewatch all of these again someday because I do worry sometimes I judge certain titles unfairly and sometimes it might just also be a matter of where my headspace was at that day. But for now, this one is getting the lowest rank for the time being.
That said, don't let me discourage you. You might very well end up enjoying this one. IMDb rates this at a 6.5/10 and a majority vote it at a 7, so from an unbiased perspective, a lot of audiences found this one to be above average, at least.

Please seek therapy. I mean this genuinely.
Oop this got lost with my notifications, just saw it now.
I appreciate your genuineness, and I’ll try my best to reply in kind.
I don’t post everything abt my life—nor do many people—especially not about my trauma or counselling I’m doing. However I do go to counselling and talk to a medical professional about how best to approach life (an unbiased, professional opinion from a therapist/counsellor is something everyone would benefit from imo, both for past, present, and future stresses they’re dealing with).
I’m not sure what specifically you’re referring to that I need to get help for, but I’m going to take a guess (judging by other anon hate I’ve gotten) that it’s due to age gap ships or shipcest!
For each of those, I tag it all so that it can be blacklisted, and I openly ask that people tell me if they need something tagged. That’s my part in the censorship process, from there it’s other people’s responsibilities to tailor their own internet experiences.
Also, I want to reiterate that the taboo or angsty things I write are entirely fictional. Fiction is used in many ways, and sometimes it’s used to illicit feelings or emotions by portraying things that are dangerous. Slasher movies, murder mysteries, A Series of Unfortunate Events, even Harry Potter, they have things that should NEVER happen in real life. But fortunately those characters are fiction, and they can be put through the wringer while the real existing people who read that fiction can explore the situation and the resulting emotions in a safe place, where they can close the book whenever they want.
Okay, this is a bit of rambling, but I figured I’d respond to this ask with some genuine thoughts.
tldr: fiction isn’t reality, fiction =/= wanting to do something irl, tailor your internet experience, dark fiction allows someone to explore ‘negative’ emotions in a safe place where no real person is the target.

Croooewww..... Crow wtf this is so sweet... why you made whole rannt I am sobbing gfhtgfhfgv Thank you so much..
Tumblr media
I am really happy that you feel this way;;;; I have been noticing that usually people who are meticulous about the Soulsborne lore speak from the position of "intellectual superiority" and deny any alternative interpretations of the source! It IS something I am deliberately trying to avoid, and uproot if I have it! It took me a lot of effort to go from "creep gehrman takes are dumb and inaccurate" to calmly explaining what evidence is inaccurate and just asking people to not pull gehrman/gehrmaria hate and bullying over their preference! And I still want to do better and focus my frustration on bad behavior, not this or that take!
It is clear that """anon""" decided I hate personal interpretations and believe that I am the only one who understands Miyazaks writing because in the recent post I strongly insisted that he would NOT write a story that excuses genocide! I do not understand how that is a controversial take, even if you ignore every other item description in SOTE telling you Crusade is horrendous act! Story can't exist outside of author's intention, and we know Miyazaki is not a fascist, okay? And saying so doesn't equal saying personalized interpretations can't or should not exist!
Sigh, like I said, as much as I want to be open and unbiased, I have limits, and I've somewhat lost my patience when I disagreeded SO strongly. The thing is, it takes me readings that excuse genocide (fictional but still) paired with condescending behavior to get angry, whereas people I criticize get angry at "wrong" ships, "wrong" sexuality headcanons, "wrong" designs of a character without canon face data, "wrong" headcanons on timeline of events, "wrong" opinions and so on and so on. Without 'condescending behavior' part, they literally just exist in the same fandom space. I did not name concrete examples, but for each you guys could remember one that you've seen, right? I disapprove of this behavior! It is this simple!
And yes, I am a "tank". I unintentionally developed the habit of "speaking for those who can't". Because whenever someone has concern with bad shit in the fandom but is scared to talk about it in fear of starting drama or attracting harrassment, I jump in and go "I'll do it myself, after all I am the bad guy of our fandom pocket and no one expects anything good from me". XD I guess me and Messmer share the trait of wanting to pick up the negative role so someone doesn't get their hands dirty, albeit for such drastically different reasons? Though maybe he is like this even in his relationships, and in happier context? I can see this lol And yes, you are the person that accepts anyone, no matter if they're shunned by the fandom or have PwObWeMaTiC uwu ship or whatever.. I appreciate this about you a lot Crow, not only because you was a safe haven for me when I was harassed myself.
And, yeah. It is whatever if that sounds pathetic, and anyone can think"oh my god who cares about trying to do better in the middle of fandom discourse it literally doesn't matter don't you guys have bills to pay or anything, touch grass 🙄🤦‍♂️" of it. It is not because fandoms are some vital spaces or it is heroic to speak against bs or anything. It is because it is NOT FAIR. Bitches expect me to see shit that is NOT FAIR and stay silent just because ai have job tomorrow or whatever. Why would anyone accept something that is NOT FAIR because "well fandom problems are not as important as 💫reeeeeeeeal💫 problems". Aside of it being weird to invest in something if by your own admission it is just some shit that doesn't matter:
Fandoms should NOT be these jarring, toxic, hostile spaces that any person who values their health should stay away from or take breaks from! They are supposed to be FUN! Conceptually! They should be spaces where everyone can be creative and have fun! Yeah I know that normally I am the misanthropic "nature of humanity" pessimistic guy, saying that every fandom sucks because every fandom has humans in it. And I've found reflection of that attitude in overanalyzing Dark Souls. But I've found something else too: that not all human instincts are destructive and bad, and that we can do better without losing what makes us human *glares at Gwyn and alike*. We can still remain passionate and obsessed without becoming toxic and mean-girlish! And yes, I know that caring about it is STILL risky, and I like anyone who tries to argue with that "nature of humanity" will inevitably become the exact thing I want to destroy. The thing is, despite what conclusion anon jumped to, this day is NOT today, nor it is even CLOSE.
God, not to be one of those "hateful anons" but you really need to drop the "holier than thou" type thing on all of your lore posts. As much as I'd love to debunk why half your arguements are overused and don't work, I'll save that because that's not my point.
On almost all of your lore posts you mention at least once how "people aren't ready for stories of this level" or some shit along those lines, and let me ask you this: Why do you think people like you can digest these stories better? You would probably answer something like "Because I can understand these stories unlike these stupid from haters" or something.
You aren't digesting these stories better then anyone else just because you spend 1000 hours looking into what Morgott's moldy toe item description mentions. Like seriously, all this complaining about why the fandom sucks yet youre just like all those "holier than thou" people in the fandom who keep mentioning how THEIR perspective is better then someone else's.
You also keep acting like personal interpretation doesn't exist on some note. Saying how [X] is actually what happened and that people are denying [X].
I looked into your blog because I thought some of your posts were interesting, but it turns out youre literally just like all the other fromsoftware fans you complain so much about. Hopefully this gives you some perspective, I guess.
Nah, it "didn't give me the perspective", because you are the one seriously misunderstanding here. I say that we as a fandom are not ready for Fromsoft stories SPECIFICALLY to criticize fandom behavior.
We as a fandom are not ready for Fromsoft stories because there are people who claim that "Miquella's character was assassinated by bad writing because in the base game he was hyped up to be kind and compassionate", when his arc was a fall from grace. How falling from grace equals writing him to never have had that grace to begin with? We as a fandom are not ready for Fromsoft stories because whenever Fromsoft does not directly state something, fandom splits into two hostile groups each accusing another of media illiteracy or even various -isms and -phobias. (I advice you to ask Gehrman fans from Bloodborne fandom for extra insight on this one) We as a fandom are not ready for Fromsoft stories because when they DO state something directly, the "cool kids" of the fandom decide it was either a bad writing or that they know better, and start to side-eye everyone who prefers canon over their """improved""" fanon. We as a fandom are not ready for Fromsoft stories because Miyazaki's brand of moral ambiguity, admission that there is no clear solution to world's problems and questioning the nature of humanity itself OFTEN falls on the deaf ears.
Like... you do realize that I still consider myself part of the fandom, despite not engaging beyond what is on my feed? That I do not claim that /I/ am ready for Miyazaki's writer genius? Just like everyone else, I can only do my best to TRY to understand him! Nonetheless, I am trying my best to be mature, and encourage maturity in others. It is hard to remain always calm and nice in a fandom that feels like a battlefield, everyone will get a bit rude! The point is to TRY to be better, which most people don't see the need for! I am calling out fandoms bad behavior and refusal to look deeper into story and characters than their habits and preferences, especially because these preferences often lead to conflicts and toxicity, not claiming moral superiority over my headcanons!
Personal interpretations are fair. What is NOT fair is when someone harps on a very well-researched post with easily debunked arguements, basically doing the "your post is nonsense because in my fanfic things are different" on them, and then another person that did not even read the post nor actually researched the lore beyond their preferences passionately agrees.
I'll have you know that I never spent "1000 hours on analyzing". I am autistic, you goddamn coward. I understand some obscure detail in a flash by just looking, or suddenly come up with an insight while busy at work. Sometimes I literally dream a theory or observation! I do not understand where the misconception that everyone needs to spend a lot of time to be hyper-observant about their special interest comes from. However, you believing that about me makes your claim even worse. You seriously just said that analysis of someone who.... well, analysed the lore, is not as valid as analysis of someone who just took scraps of lore they personally enjoyed to create their own thing. How does this make sense, exactly? Again: you'd have SOME point if you spoke against a stuck-up Reddittuber who makes it their daily mission to ruin someone's joy if their headcanon is not 100% accurate to the source, however, so far the inverse has been happening. People who decided something about lore just because it appealed to THEM will go and be rude to people who are trying to be objective. Not only this; I've had my headcanons (!) "corrected" multiple times because they were different from popular fanon!
.........speaking of certain people who think it is okay to harp on someone's lore post to downplay it when they are not even lorediggers themselves.... -_-
The way you glazed through my blog and jumped into an extremely inaccurate conclusion about my personality and attitude reminded me of the same impulsivity when someone took "stop treating Marika as noble hero against Hornsent evil, here are bad things that happened during her reign" as as "just another poorly researched Marika hate 🥺". 🙃 Your obvious vitriol for thorough lore research, your poorly disguised manipulation (you clearly did not think my posts were "interesting" with how much disdain you just expressed FOR them, but you wanted to wound me by faking "disappointment"), and above all, timing. My tone in yesterday's Marika and the fandom rant was in no, NO way different from how I usually speak in my blog! My mutuals (all 8 of them lol) can confirm! Yet I've never received (inaccurate) anon hate for this.. until now. Until recent very unfortunate encounter with extremely shallow individuals that started a debate yet refused to finish it when hypocrisy of the both was pointed out. 🌛
I think I know who you are. :/ 🤔 I'll keep that in mind, and being "prepared" will definitely lessen the effect if you try anything of the sort again, be sure of this.
(At the same time, IF I am wrong and you are just a fan that found me through that interaction, I'll have you know that your lowly cowardice by using anon instead of showing your face has put someone else under suspicion, and it will remain so unless you show yourself. In which case, hope you are proud of yourself. 🤦‍♂️)

(Jasontlddsblackso here,i changed my url)11 + fluffy Ichihime :)?
(hey! I recognized you dw)
"What's with the box?" + Fluffy + Ichihime
Really, what's with the box Orihime?
--
Ichigo guessed he was not the type of person to have gifts very often. First, there rarely was a chance for him to attract such a nice intention on him, then, he couldn't see for what occasion he'd receive one. It didn't change when Orihime and he started to date. Not because they didn't care, but because they didn't make a show out of gifting something, be it some funny and cute jewelry or some food.
He was never expecting gifts or secrets or boxes of various shapes. Life was calm, extraordinary so, Orihime worked on some pastry projects with coworkers while Ichigo studied more English, since that language just continued to be... resourceful.
So when he entered their shared bedroom, fresh out of his shower, sweatpants on his legs, and no shirt on, he did not expect Orihime to wait for him on the bed.
"Hey!" She smiled at him, face shining from excitement.
Ichigo grinned back at her, rubbing the last of the water from his head before throwing the towel in the laundry basket.
"Hey there." He greeted back, walking up to her and leaning forward to peck her forehead.
The auburn head on his wife's head smelled of freshly baked bread, with a tint of cinnamon and lavender. He caressed her cheek gently, and Orihime gave him a satisfied smile, eyes staring at his toned chest.
"I see you had some fun at the bakery today? Tried anything new?"
"Mhm. Yuki and Suzume were helping me with coming up with a brand new type of bread. We're trying a lot of different combinations to explore more tastes. They're not against the idea of adding... particular things to the bread." She giggled, eyes trailing back to his, face secured in his large, warm ones.
Ichigo raised an eyebrow at her, amused.
"I see. They'll surely love your ideas, love. Among all the experiments you had before, you certainly have experience in confectioning new, tasteful, and surprising pastries."
His hand kept stroking her soft, smooth skin, while hers patted the bed around her, looking for something. Ichigo didn't have the time to ask before she raised a rectangular box in front of her.
"Here, I brought you a sample." Her smile was wide, eyes shining, and Ichigo let one hand go to hold the unexpected gift. "I know you will tell me if it tastes good or not. If you love it or just appreciate it out of politeness."
He rolled his eyes at her. He used to 'appreciate things out of politeness' when he was younger, because it was kind of people to ask for his opinion, once in a while, and would be rude to spit out the truth. Now, Orihime needed honesty, unbiased and sincere, for her work to really be successful.
"I would love to taste it for you." He told her, sitting by her side while his hands unwrapped the box. Why was it even wrapped? He guessed Orihime wanted it to be special.
And special it really was.
Inside the box, instead of a small bread, decorated with all types of garnishes and flowers Orihime liked to add to her creations, was a pregnancy test.
Positive.
Ichigo couldn't speak, only smile at first. Then he pulled her close, with gentle strength, tears of joy streaming down his laughing face.
