Ever just love three characters so much you decide to make them work despite two of them explicitly canonically hating each other, the other two are biological brothers, and the third pairing has a 15 year age gap?(Wow, that sounded a lot less problematic in my head...)

Anyways!

They're in love, your honour.

All three of them. Between each other. I refuse to see it any other way. (If you don't agree, that's perfectly fine, these are just my personal Ot3 thoughts.)

Break made little Vince's wish come true by reuniting him with his long lost brother. I wonder how much of Vince's wish influenced Break's decision to make Gil his left eye within the Nightray manor. Would he have asked the same of any poor sap he found out in the rain, or did he conveniently do it because he knew the Nightrays held his brother there and it was his way of giving back to this child he was somehow connected with through the Abyss? His ill omened little brother.

Did Vince put two and two together that it was Break who brought him Gil? Did that ever come up in conversation between them? Like "how convenient that I asked you to send anyone matching Gil's description to the Nightray manor and one day Gil just showed up wrapped up in a bow for adoption."

With that said, Vince's childhood was so messed up... so bloody messed up, my heart weeps for him. No wonder he started showing these incestuous tendencies towards his own brother, who was the only good thing in his life. It's his coping mechanism in a sense, to love his brother above anything else so... passionately.

Frankly, Gil is no less messed up because of his own childhood, but he wants to feel needed, and he is certainly needed by both Vince and Break. Reluctantly, and after a lot of soul searching, he accepts Vince for who he is, and of course he accepts Break, which comes with a lot of teasing and pushing him to his limits. Without Break, he wouldn't be half of the person he could be if the other wouldn't be pushing him beyond his limit constantly (as any good mentor should).

And yes, though Break teases Gil a lot about being mopey and useless, he'd never let anything actually happen to Gil and actually only ever has his best interests in mind, at least on a psychological level. So whether they like it or not, they need each other and rely on each other to be at their best. Gil, via cooking for and maintaining Break's health, and Break, via literally pulling Gil out of brainwashed psychosis.

Similarly, because of Break's caring nature, he can't let Vince commit the irreversible, and that finally slaps some sense into dear ol' Vince to recognize that Break isn't the bad guy, and perhaps he never was.

And thus, with this mutual trust, shared by some deep seated trauma between each other, I see them all bonding with each other and forming deeper connections over time that would lead into a healthy relationship.

At first I thought Gil would be the sole key keeping them together and happy, but after finding all the crumbs that support that Vince and Break could very much work with each other as well, yeah, I think that each pair can exist happily independent of each other, but by God is it so much better to just imagine them polyamourously working together.

Final Thoughts:

this episode was so much fun!!!! we may not have gotten much of the Parker/Eliot duo but I’m still happy that they got to tag-team! Parker learning how to socialize, be a team player, and lead was just 👌👌👌👌👌👌 wonderful so proud of her T^T Alec was amazing (obviously) and fucking killed both for stalling the case and winning it <3

not as much Nate/Sophie moments besides them acting like parents to their teammates and being a well-oiled machine 😎 so I’m still satisfied! a little disappointed that there wasn’t any hint for the finale but that might just be because of the messed up order again 😔

oooooooh SO hemingway is an app i bought years ago. there is a free version online but i dont recommend it bc since then they've gotten new ai features and i dont want yalls work being eaten by an AI bot :( the desktop app does not have ai features so i should be good~

ANYWAY the appeal of hemingway sans AI is that it highlights different issues in different colors, adverbs are in blue and run on sentences are in yellow or red, etc, etc. i like how the highlighted sections/words break up the writing and make it easier to look at, even if ignore the suggestions. i dont really care about using too many adverbs, but w/ run on sentences it's good to at least just know what sentences i should look at again to see if it's worth changing to be simpler. otherwise i just like it aesthetically lmao

ANYWAY OT3 WIP. this was actually my first ever f1 wip and i think it shows :/ i still like the idea but i was still so new to f1 and getting to know everyone and i'm not happy with the characterization of them anymore.

the ship was max/daniel/lando not as a triad but as a V, maybe going towards a triad? i hadn't decided. it was a normal people au where max and daniel are nesting partners, and daniel brings lando home w/o warning leading to a less than optimal first impression when max comes home, tired and grumpy after work:

Max realizes later he didn’t even introduce himself, needs to ask Daniel later what his name is. It’s all Daniel’s fault, of course, that Max has made a bad first impression. One of the many reasons they have a rule to warn each other when they’re bringing someone home. It’s not a flawless system, like last month when Daniel’s phone had died, didn't see Max's text, and he’d come home to Max fucking Charles over a kitchen counter. So, Max supposes he’s lucky that his first encounter with Lando hadn’t been worse. Daniel is much more of a serial dater of the two. Max works a 9-5, it takes up more of his time and he's less of a romantic anyway. Daniel works freelance, easy to drop everything when he meets someone new. Max doesn't mind the discrepancy—it works for them and it doesn't really matter what other people might think of it. He hears when Daniel goes out on dates, but they’re not the sort of couple to share a lot of details. At least not until it gets serious. Bringing someone home tends to mean it’s somewhat serious, so Max is surprised he hadn’t heard anything about Lando before. Daniel fills him in: that they’ve been going on dates for a few months now, that he’s an aspiring DJ (Max fights everything in him to not roll his eyes), and so, so, so wonderful, according to Dan. Daniel gets adorably giddy when he's falling in love, something that Max will never get tired of being witness to. He absorbs at least half of the information that Daniel is telling him, and commits to making a much better impression next time he sees Lando. Unfortunately, their next run in turns out equally as awkward.

Do you think Harry really lied to the other 1D guys about the "hiatus"? I've seen this thrown around over the years that he tricked them into it but I personally don't really believe that. Going solo isn't exactly something that you can hide from your bandmates you know what I mean?

He was noticeably more distant during the 2nd half of 1D and hired jeff as his manager during that time aswell, it's hard for me to believe that the others were oblivious to what was happening. If I remember correctly I think louis even said he was upset when a hiatus was brought up, why would you be upset if you believed it would only be temporary?

Then there's niall who was the first to release music (2nd if you count zayn) and his debut album came out only 4 months after Harry's. And he was the one who said something along the lines of, "We're not breaking up, unless someone's lying to me." I honestly feel like the only ones who were lied to were the fans. I think Harry knew he was set just because of his friendship with the azoffs and the others weren't sure they would be successful so they kept denying a break up to keep fans from turning on them.

I dont know, I'm just not a fan of painting harry as the only manipulative one. It's just not realistic, all celebrities manipulate and lie to their fans to some extent in order to keep their support.

yes, without a doubt he lied and manipulated them. he told them it would be a "break" and it was about not "exhausting" their fans. louis said he knew what the conversation was getting at, but my guess is harry wasn't being honest, so it was about louis basically telling him, you want to go solo, don't you? this is a break up, right? but of course, because harry is a manipulative conniving coward, i think he was like, we'll take a break and see how things go. i think louis wanted harry to be honest about it and i don't think harry was, not when he knew the others would fucking hate him for it. which was why the others thought it was a hiatus.

niall released music first because at that point they'd known for months that harry had signed a solo deal. so the smart thing was always going to be to get out and release music before he did. because they all recognized when harry did it, it would sort of make it much harder for any of them to come out with anything, as historically that's always been the case with boybands. so to get the most attention and to deal with it best, they had to get out there first. which they did, and i'm happy for them. i've suspected that also hurt harry's first album sales hahahaha.

i've always thought the "unless someone is lying to me" thing was a telling pointed statement. they knew harry was, but harry wasn't talking to any of them at that point.

i think the others just weren't sure what was going on. i think they also all considered coming back as an OT3. but i think as the break progressed, they probably realized that wouldn't be something that would work for any of them, particularly with harry going superstar solo. i'm sure they'd all heard what he was planning on doing in the industry. i remember niall saying he heard about dunkirk from someone on the tube who worked on it or something.

people play niall as someone who gets on with all of them, but for me, niall is just trying to do his best to not step on toes, while also being quite shady in harry's direction and making sure he's not really connected to any of them except louis. the harries have had to fantasize on interactions between them just because they want to play up the fantasy that harry can maintain relationships and friendships with people who aren't superstars and people who can't do anything for him and that he didn't hate the others or connive his way to be a solo superstar, but we all know he did.

i think harry was plotting, lying, scheming, manipulating. i think he's a massive fucking coward. i think he knew if the others hated him before the band broke up, it would mean they could sabotage him by planting stories etc about him leading up to it. i think the others sensed things, because i think zayn was also right, when he said that he never really spoke to harry. i don't believe any of the others really spoke to harry after maybe 2014. not on a personal level. harry is a selfish prick and many people are now figuring that out.

my initial observation was based on the guardian articles of louis shortly after the break and also on AOTV where he implied that there’s no big label/records offering him a contract (before Jay’s diagnosis), meanwhile the rest of OT3 got them. even his first single was not followed by an album (from what I learn this was what made rads hated that his career was somehow felt sabotaged).

so in the end, he needs to search for a slightly different market that would made his career more sustainable and be ok that his promotion in the US is not that massive. (not that I dont like, all his music genre are in my spotify playlist).

I guees I’m just sad that once he felt that he was left behind. And I don’t know if this was a good indicator, but I felt that Niall is more popular for the GP since he has 32.3M instagram followers, almost double of what Louis’ has. But really I dont follow the boys from the beginning, is Niall more popular than him in the 1D days?

I think there are all sorts of different ways to respond to Louis and his career and to have come to him and made sense of what he does anon. But I cannot stand the way people dismiss the impact of trauma and distress on Louis. Here you are imagining a time that doesn't exist - a time where meaningful things were happening in solo careers and Jay was not yet diagnosed.

Jay was diagnosed in April or May 2016. The only 1D member who had a record deal at that point was Zayn. 1D members were in the studio so they could figure out what sort of artist they were and take that to the record label, and they may have been in early talks - but there's no reason to think anyone had signed with a major label.

Louis had a really, really rough few years - of course he felt all sorts of things about his life and his career in that time - that's really normal and OK. Despite that he's built a sustainable career. There's no need to catastrophise around any of this - and certainly I will continue to advocate against the erasure of the trauma he experienced.

i think my favorite thing about pending train is that like… it breaks alot of the typical stranded group tropes. someone is picking a fight with the group. actually he is trying to push people into working to survive instead of just waiting around pitifully for rescue. someone is hoarding water. instead of forcing a search or fighting over who it is they work together make an inventory and let people volunteer any goods to share around. someone is depressed. they share their stories to motivate them to start eating.

theres just… a lot of compassion. sure there is conflict and people who have their own agenda and people who dont feel any consideration for others. but also there are those who share their food wo anything in return or worry about others wo needing something from it.

also breaking the trope of the self sacrificial character hrghsjsj. ‘please come back with us, leaving you behind would become our regret’ hrhgsjskbs

also the stereotypical nerd and gamer characters, them becoming friends cause they apparently played the same games/ had the same taste in manga was so hrjdbdjsj

theres this scene when they find out theyre in the future (? or some other reveal) where rena, who basically been portrayed thus far as a pretty apathetic character who looks through other people’s things and will lie and pass off the blame on others, says that she’s glad that everyone is dead in the future. but shes starts crying while shes saying it and theres this look on yome’s face where he goes from ‘how could you say such a thing?’ to ‘oh youre hurting too’ and idk this was such a nice characterizing moment for rena, seemingly shallow nail manicurist

also kayashima big brothering all the teenagers (kato, yome, rena, koharu, kazuma) like hrhsbbsjsb that was adorable. and the others being all like ‘wow hes such a good older brother’

one criticism tho would be the romance poking with hatano sometimes to pick one of the guys which was annoying and also the weird kayashima pauses where the trope would be for him to confess or kiss or something but then doing something else is annoying… like make kayashima’s love language be acts of service and hair touches (NOT while cutting hair). he already touched yome and kazuma’s head affectionally so theres precedent. also he has trust/abandonment issues so they couldve put that out a little more

and they shouldve made shirahama gay lol. already making it in my head where the waitress is sister to the disabled senpai and hes just conflicted bi between them.

the script stuff hasnt been released yet (sadly), I was just saying the parts of the story that were in the novel but not the show, (sorry for the confusion)

i do wish the drama was longer to add these parts in, and flesh out the ending a tad more (especially the part after the break up - cause it basically skipped to Myungha disappearing with no time seeing how either of them were affected), but that being said I loved the extra parts the drama added, (like Ahn Siah coaching Yeowoon, Sangwoon punching his old friends, and Khyunghoon being happy after eating with Myungha and Yeowoon)

IF they ever do a true special episode (or season 2 if we're being optimistic), i'd love for the new 22-chapter story to be included - cuz its kinda like a retelling and a new entry, (plus you don't need to watch season 1 to understand the second)

TBH i read the 6 chapter side story during a family gathering cuz I got bored lmao - its short and sweet, but the side characters arent really in it, Kyunghoon and Si ah get one mention each.

Sangwoon defo grew on me, notably in the drama and the later chapters of the novel - especially when he is softer and puts down his rich-boy arrogant facade. its clear he's just a boy who wants to be loved so dearly. (also I can't be the only one who thought Sangwoon and Kyunghoon would end up together, [Also, also, someone said they were cousins, I don't think that's true tho])

Honestly, I read your OT3 fanfic on AO3 before I found your Tumblr page, and then when I pressed it, I was like, "This is so familiar," and then I realised. i love it btw <3

that scene where Yeowoon is jealous of a cat is so cute, cuz Myungha asks if they should get a cat and Yeowoon quickly refuses before literally saying "One pet is enough for you, and that's me," and Myungha doesnt even question it,

oop- i got impatient and brought the spinoff too, (well only 5 chapters of it) cuz I got the rest from the free-daily skips thing. I haven't read it yet, but I plan to do one big read after I finish my exams, work and my 'Love For Love Sake' inspired fanfic.

I gotta admit, I didn't read the novel and webtoon... I mean, I started it but I haven't finished yet. I've read the fan-translated version of a novel (which is like 1/3 of korean novel?) and I have access to Ridibooks where I decided to start with reading Spinoff story (since I sort of know that's completely new and kdrama closely follow original novel)

I can assume 18+ story might be including chapters with somewhat NC scenes? (I haven't read them yet tbh I'm still wary of buying such things on Korean websites, blame my paranoia) but other than that, the rest seemed like the typical novel (118 chapters) + Special side story (I haven't read it yet) of 6 chapters + bonus stage released in 2024 with 22 chapters . You say 6 chapters about proposal? I gotta read it then! Though the proposal was hinted at in the last spinoff story though...xD

I don't see different separation in Ridibooks. I see 118-6-22 chapters too. Oh, but I see 19+ version with 7 and 5 chapters, maybe that's the one you're talking about? But sorry, I haven't read them yet... I might do it though xD

But I have Kdrama storyboard + scriptbook right now to read! As in actual physical book, so I'm very curious to read and check what differences there are in actual drama (Taevin said they had to give up some scenes because of the weather etc). + I will work on translating spinoff soon while somebody else has been translating the original novel.
