"What happens if the Iowa governor is married to a man?" you might ask, "Will the husband of the governor be free from an existence after death trapped inside a porcelain doll for all eternity?"

The answer is no.

In fact, Kevin Reynolds, the husband of our current (and very widely despised) governor, Kim Reynolds, had one of these freaky things crafted after his likeness.

Cursed Iowa fact: whenever a governor is sworn in, someone makes a porcelain doll of the governor’s spouse in the outfit he or she wore on Inauguration Day. That doll is then placed in a cabinet in the Iowa capital building.
