Hello! Are requests open?
If not, ignore this ask.
I wanted to ask you a beast dazai x neglected reader. Like, a reader who has been ignored and neglected from her entire family since she grow up. She no longer gets goodbyes, she has to cook for herself, her parents don't even acknowledge her when she's sick.
She's been recently accepted as a member of the port, more specifically a secretary of the one and only Dazai Osamu in flesh and bones. Just her luck, this so "scary demon prodigy" is also the sweetest most loyal and pretty boyfriend of her.
When Dazai finds out how she gets (or rather not get) treated at home, he gets genuinely pissed off!! And wanting her to just be good, he asks her if she want to spend sometime in his penthouse, far from that family, somewhere where all the attention she needs is on her, at least there Dazai can actually show her how much she's worth all the love in the world! Come on, she gave him a reason to live, how could he even accept she is living a shitty life in such an house?
Also, PLEASE, PLEASE. An au where beast dazai doesn't kill himself. Also, I love the concept that in every universe the reader and him are soulmates. Like, it's just so perfect I'm so in love with that idea!!
ALSO AGAIN OPS, i wanted to say that I LOVE LOVE your dazai SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO MUCH!!!! I've recently stumbled into your blog and I MUST SAY THAT THIS IS JUST.. PERFECT???? I love YOU, deer, for all your wonderful ideas, I love THE ASKS, because damn all your asks give just as wonderful ideas as the one you write out, and I love YOUR WORKS especially the y!dazai like yes???? Just yes????
(My favorite character is Chuuya, but my soft spot for Beast dazai is actually insane, you don't even imagine how much I love that man. Also, because my heart just hurt and break each time people talk about Dazai being a cheater, THANK YOU??? THE ASK, AND YOUR REPLY, THANK YOU SO MUCH??? COULDN'T LIVE WITH THE FEELING DAZAI THAT CHEATS ANYMORE! THANK YOU THANK YOU)
Anyways.
Woah, this got long, I swear I'm not crazy..
Can I be ⏳️ anon if no one else is??
HIII ⏳️ ANON!!! im so glad you enjoy my works and my dazai!!! (as opposed to . asagiris dazai lmaooo)
im sorry this is so late 😭 but im back on the writing grind 😼
The lights were on in your boyfriend’s penthouse, a bolt of worry shooting down your spine at the sight. With his spare key haphazardly shoved into your pocket and door left wide open, you tiptoe into what should've been his apartment, trying to find out if someone broke in.
Dazai had asked you to stop by and drop off something at his place — not exactly standard work for a secretary but you were happy to assist your boyfriend. In your arms now were the groceries a different lackey had picked up and left on your desk. Normally Dazai would take them back himself, he said, but he would need to stay at work late and finish up some things. You were to take his place and make sure the refrigerated goods didn’t go bad. That’s what he said to you, anyway, which you found a bit confounding; Couldn't he have a lackey bring it up in your stead? Sure, Dazai liked to bring his own food to his home to alleviate the threat of poison, but it wouldn't be the first time he let it happen anyway.
While you had been a bit skeptical, pushing the topic seemed unnecessary since you were more than willing to do it either way. Any time spent far from your home and your family was time you cherished, so you didn’t think twice before accepting his stupid and unusual request and taking his spare penthouse key.
But now, you were regretting it. Anyone capable of breaking into the Port Mafia boss’s penthouse was not someone to be underestimated: you were in serious trouble. Cautiously, you hold the paper bags tightly to keep the food from moving around noisily before peeking into the kitchen: the room with the lights on. What could they be doing here..?
Plating dinner, apparently.
“Love! You’ve finally arrived - good. Take a seat!”
Your boyfriend was donned in a frilly pink apron you’re sure he bought just for this occasion, since you've never seen him in it before. With an amused chuckle, you stepped back. "Let me close the door then I'll join you."
After putting away all of the groceries he'd asked you to bring home for him - and realizing he already had all of these items in his cupboards and refrigerator already - you tug on the ribbon keeping the apron fixed against his neck.
The top half falls down from his chest, curling over the second tie around his hips and dangling loosely. "Undressing me already?" Dazai hums playfully.
"You're obnoxious." Next comes the tie around his waist, the bunched up apron fabric quickly pulled against your chest. You gently push Dazai to the side as you unfold it. "C'mon, I'll take over now."
Dazai huffs childishly, pouting dramatically for the full effect. "Hey!" He reaches out, snagging the apron from you and quickly tying it back on himself. Hands securely gripping your waist, Dazai lifts you from the ground and carries you - feet hovering just over the wooden floor - to the dining room, where an empty basket sits between variously sized candles on a decorated table.
On either side of the table are empty plates and fancy napkins, ones you hadn't known Dazai even owned, with cutlery resting on top. Two glasses sit on the table, one scotch and one wine glass, both filled with their respective drinks. Dazai sets you down next to the table, feet finally touching the floor once again while his arms snake out from your waist, making sure to pat your tummy once as his hand slides around it.
"Hope you're hungry - I made your favorite. It's all plated and ready to go, I just... burnt the bread you like. That garlicky kind from that restaurant we went to a few weeks ago? I gently requested the chef to give me the recipe and she happily handed it over! Of course, it must've been my handsome good looks that finally made her acquiesce rather than the gun in my coat pocket— "
Your wonderful boyfriend continues to prattle on and yet you barely register any of it, just thinking about how he knew you liked that bread and wanted to go to extreme lengths to recreate it for you. A bit timidly, you hold his hands in yours, giving them a mild squeeze. "I can't believe you went to the trouble."
The sound of your whisper makes Dazai grin, puffing out his chest in pride. "Of course! I'd do anything for my love," he says, voice leaning more on the side of egotistical than genuine, a light joke hoping to make you laugh. Like always, he succeeds.
The kiss you press to his cheek makes his smile turn more sincere, a hand moving to flatten the frilly pink fabric around his waist. "Guess you read my apron."
You look down, noticing the tacky KISS THE CHEF embroidered onto the front. A playful scoff passes your lips, rolling your eyes while trying to bite back a smile. "You're annoying. How long have you had this?"
"Umm~," he hums for a moment. "7 hours? And I thought you said I was obnoxious." A high pitched ding! sounds from the kitchen, Dazai quickly rushing back and leaving you alone. You gaze back at the dinner table he set up, smiling excitedly at the thought of him putting all this together just for you.
Spending time with Dazai always lifts a weight off of your shoulders, laughing at his dumb jokes and complaining about your day - it’s a wonderful feeling the both of you lacked prior. Him from his upbringing in the mafia, following in Mori’s footsteps and cursed to take his position, and you - not allowed to rely on anyone except yourself from the moment you could walk. Both you and Dazai were accustomed to loneliness and isolation, knowing the only people you could trust were yourselves.
Coming together after forced alienation all your life made you bit hesitant to depend on him, especially at first. Asking for attention and affection is much scarier than just wanting it. However, Dazai had seemed to warm up to the idea relatively quickly, as though he already knew you could be trusted and had already been used to your presence.
It was a bit jarring, knowing the scary mafia boss was so enamored with you he'd practically jump onto you if you got too close. All things considered, he should've been as cautious as you were, but Dazai so easily slid into his role as your partner. Sometimes you feel bad knowing that you haven't been as forthcoming as he has.
"Stay with me tonight."
The sudden turn in conversation makes you freeze, hand pausing with your glass of wine lingering just in front of your lips. Conversation had been flowing easily just moments prior — chatting about each other's day and various similar small talk, before turning to the dinner at hand. You'd thanked Dazai for the meal before asking him why he decided to do this for you so randomly. Instead of answering, he'd simply replied with the above: stay with me tonight.
"Stay here? Overnight? It's a bit last minute..."
Dazai smiles as you set your wine glass down, staring at him as though expecting an elaboration. Which, of course, he's willing to supply. "And tomorrow night, if you'd like. The one after and every night after that."
Is he asking me to move in? you think, breath hitching. It's all so sudden; you'd never even discussed this possibility with him. Sure, you've spent a night or two over here and there - but very sporadically. It wasn't something often and definitely not frequent enough to lead into moving in so soon.
"Stop overthinking," he cuts into your thoughts. "Take what I'm saying at face value." Gently, Dazai's hand reaches out to grab yours, arm resting on the table as his thumb traces your knuckles. "Stay with me tonight. And we can reassess tomorrow."
Of course he knows how to calm you down, causing you to breathe as you focus on his thumb's ministrations on your hand. Well, it would be nice, knowing the options are to stay with your loving boyfriend or go home to your neglectful family. They wouldn't even notice you're gone, much less care where you ended up, but...
"I have pajamas and clothes for you to use, spare toothbrush and the like." Dazai had answered your question before you even asked, something that always made you smile. No one had ever taken the time to know you, much less well enough to read your mind like that. "If they're not to your liking, I'll have a subordinate get you something else."
You shake your head, wanting nothing more than to spend a night away from your home once again. Or away from your house, rather - since Dazai has quickly proven himself to be your home. "I bet they're perfect. And if not, I— " you hesitate, not wanting to impose. The last thing you wanted was to be—
"You aren't a burden. If not, we can just get something else," Dazai cuts off your train of thought. "I want to, okay? I want to take care of you. I want you to know what it's like to be looked after and taken care of."
"I was going to say if not, maybe I can move some of my clothes here... for the times I stay over." Anxiously, you pick up your fork to poke and prod at your meal, the lovely dinner Dazai had crafted just for you consisting of only your favorite foods.
Dazai nods quickly, eyes glimmering at the idea. He knows this is your metaphorical olive branch, letting him know that you're working up to one day moving in with him. All he wants and all he's ever wanted for as long as he's known you, spanning across multiple lives, is to keep you safe and happy.
The topic changes as dinner continues, and before you know it you're donned in the most expensive pajamas curled up against Dazai fast asleep. Watching you snore beside him, all he can think about is making sure you're surrounded solely by people who cherish you.

Three songs for The UnTitledverse, Wings And Horns' original spin off trilogy and Far Cry The Silver Chronicles below the cut.
First is "My Ordinary Life" for the main antagonist of The UnTitledverse, Zachariah the Orchestrator, the "Hand at Fate's Table" and the second-borne Eldritch that is the center point of majority of the multiverse's issues.
youtube
"They tell me that I'm special, I smile and shake my head I'll give them stories to tell friends about the things I said They tell me I'm so humble, I say I'm turning red They let me lie to them and don't feel like they've been misled They give so much to me, I'm losing touch get me? Served on a silver platter, ask for second they just let me
They tell me I'm a god, I'm lost in the fascade Six feet off the ground at all times I think I'm feelin' odd No matter what I make, they never see mistakes Makin' so much bread, I don't care that they're just being fake They tell me they're below me, I act like I'm above The people blend together but I would be lost without their love
Can you heal me? Have I gained too much? When you become untouchable you're unable to touch Is there a real me? Pop the champagne It hurts me just to think and I don't do pain."
Silva may not be aware of it, but she actually has a rivalry with the Voice, or at least her supernatural Third Eye does. Abridged explanation of the Third Eye: some mystical entity commonly tied to the human soul but doesn't necessarily need to be to help its user, usually just retains memories and personality to give some back to the renewed soul upon reincarnating so the variants of the person don't become carbon copies, however instances like Silva and Paul who don't have a soul (due to the circumstances of their "births") they instead only build up their own Third Eye to protect themselves, which gives them back their memories, personality and skills into their next lives deep in their subconscious, so while they don't consciously remember most familiar things they instinctively do and gravitate towards that. The Third Eye also has an OP mode and can enhance the user who is aware and works symbiotically with it in ways humans back in the beginning of the multiverse could do. Paul realized this and gave Silva some subtle lessons (never explicitly saying what it was for) so Silva just thought it was meditation to make her more spiritual with her soul or something and doesn't actually realize until much, much later in her life that she's powerful enough to kill a God if she wanted to. There's a lot more for the Third Eye but I'll explain in a more detailed post.
Anyway, the Voice genuinely hates Silva for constantly foiling its plans in some shape or form, especially by the time of Silva's Hope, as the Voice hasn't exactly made itself look capable of governing one corner of the universe to its extremely cruel and unforgiving superior. And since the Voice is very biased and hypocritical on why "a deputy woman trying to live a normal life is more deserving of torment and needless suffering than the the prophet who killed his daughter for it and the other prophet who gaslit, gatekeeped, manipulated, mansplained, manwhored and manslaughtered his way through life", once Silva becomes aware of the Voice, its on sight. Anyway song below:
youtube
"Kill me again, again and again But I come back knowing so much more Learning all your tricks I'll make you sick Because the truth is...* I'll make you quit."
"Try to stay [first], [have to] stay first** You're still good-good, admit to this Don't fight anymore, it's such a snore One more step, and I'll make it war."
"And I still love the way I "hurt" you."
"It's determination, whoa-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-yeah Whoa-oh-oh-oh, whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh, oh-oh-yeah.
I love the way, I love the way I love the way you keep on trying I love the way (I love the way), I love the way (I love the way) I love the way you keep on dying."
(* = Obviously I had to emit Sans name due to that probably not being the Voice's name ** = The Voice is against Silva, and since Frisk is from Undertale, I had to adapt the lyrics here a bit)
A song for the unnamed original trilogy I'm working on, which spins off from the events of Wings And Horns, but focusing on two characters who appeared in it, unnamed but can confirm they're both women, with one being trans. This pair are the first humans to have ever explored the Multiverse, and the trilogy will be following their story in life, navigating the aftermath of the abolishing of the soulmate system, discovering + exploring the Multiverse, and seeking out the Wheel of Reincarnation in the Afterlife, while facing internal and external problems, the most prominent being the Mad Kin of Carnage himself, Discord.

"I'm born to run, down rocky cliffs Give me grace, bury my sins Shattered glass and black holes Can't hold me back from where I need to go
Whoa-oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh-oh Oh, oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
Yellow hills and valleys deep I watch them move under my feet Stranger things, have come and gone To see the world and take the throne
Don't hold back Oh, I won't hold back
I'm gonna live my life like I'm gonna die young Like it's never enough, like I'm born to run I'm gonna spend my time like tomorrow won't come Do whatever I want, like I'm born to run
I wanna see Paris (Hey), I wanna see Tokyo I wanna be careless (Hey), even if I break my bones I'm gonna live my life like I'm gonna die young Like it's never enough, like I'm born to run.
A winding road, where strangers meet To feel the love of a warm drink My body moves, it's speaking loud Don't have to say what I'm thinking now
Don't hold back Oh, I won't hold back
I'm gonna live my life like I'm gonna die young Like it's never enough, like I'm born to run I'm gonna spend my time like tomorrow won't come Do whatever I want, like I'm born to run
I wanna see Paris (Hey), I wanna see Tokyo I wanna be careless (Hey), even if I break my bones I'm gonna live my life like I'm gonna die young Like it's never enough, like I'm born to run.
All these things, I've seen and done I live my life like I'm born to run All these things, I've seen and done I live my life like I'm born to run All these things, I've seen and done (I was born, born, born, born, born to run) I live my life like I'm born to run (I was born, born, born, born, born to run)
I'm gonna live my life like I'm gonna die young Like it's never enough, like I'm born to run I'm gonna spend my time like tomorrow won't come Do whatever I want, like I'm born to run

thoughts on every ridonculous race duo including don at the beginning because i just finished watching it for the first time. continued in reblogs
don is such a fun host! he doesn't want anyone to get hurt, and doesn't push anything 'for the ratings'. and even so, he manages to have a lot of funny, witty moments. of course, chris is still my favorite host, but don definitely cuts it close!... especially because, let's be real, we all forgot anyone else in the universe. (don't come for me blaineley fans she's fine I SAID DON'T COME FOR ME STAY BACK PLEASE I HAVE A FAMILY)
the LARPers. definitely some... interesting characters. they're the prime example of total drama's flat and boring personalities, most of which were distributed in pahkitew island. i'm kinda mad that, of all those horribly mid and boring characters, we got the most mid and boring one back. hell i'd have preferred dave there, he'd had given us some substance to the story. i don't even remember the girl's name and i don't wanna google it. forgettable, but definitely annoying for as long as they were on screen.
the tennis rivals. good, but overhyped i think. at least, i've seen a lot of people talk about them and ship them, especially since their cameo in the reboot. i for sure thought they'd last longer because of that. i really liked their banter but they don't come close to my favorites. i will not be calling any of their agents. sorry :(
the geniuses. yeah they definitely existed! i mean their characters were fine and i really don't have anything against them, plus their concept is kinda fun. but i absolutely despise courtney's character and hearing her voice come out of another contestant's mouth made me hate her immediately. I STILL KINDA LIKE HER... like, her character design is fun... i just don't care for them that much
the vegans. they look sooo pretty and.. that is the sole reason i put them down as 'i vibe with'. i really don't care for them. i don't even know their names lmfao
the fashion bloggers. sooo fun whenever they were on-screen. unfortunately this show is so predictable and i can tell when a character's arc comes to an end and they're going home. i don't wish they stayed longer tbh? i like them but i think they've had their time. the wlw/mlm solidarity ever next to the ice dancers but we're getting to them. anyways, solid duo!
mom and daughter. ugh. fuck you
the adversity twins. i don't want to sound like a copypasta so i'll keep it short but GODDD THEY WERE SOOO ANNOYING. does NOBODY else feel this way?? i swear before i watched RR i only saw good things about them. HOW? LITERALLY HOW??? they are so fucking annoying and all they do when they're on screen is whine. "ooh mickey is allergic to breathing :((" "actually jay has a water allergy :((" AND THEN THEY HAVE THIS OP SUPERPOWER WHAT THE FUCK IS TEMPERATURE DYSLEXIA THAT DOESN'T EVEN EXIST ahem. excuse me. getting too worked up over thE WORST DUO. SHUT THE FUCK UP let's move on sorry i'll control myself
the step-brothers. idk about you guys but they are really close to being my favorite duo. just... their entire gimmick is so good. the build-up to finding out they're so similar... ough the bros ever. i was so sad when they got eliminated :( they were so funny AND fun. lorenzo is higher than chet because i like his character design more. tbh they're kinda the same person to me? but this is a mistake i made before watching RR, thinking every duo is the same person. which they're not, i quickly learned. at least not most of them. but yeah these two were very fun, they bounced off each other very well. i really liked them. they should've gone further methinks.

I wish to love and appreciate idw optimus more too. But I also don’t want to read through the entirety of IDW 1.0. Can you please recommend me any specific issues/parts?
My best friend and fellow IDW Optimus lover made a post compiling all the comics with major story beats involving Optimus. Her list has a lot of the same things mine does, but also a lot more specific issues because she actually knows which specific issues of which series you can read specifically for ones focused on IDW Optimus. We don't agree on everything (I love some comics she dislikes and vice versa), but I would recommend her list simply because it's the most well-documented and thorough. Link I also have a lot of far less coherent but still genuine posts about IDW OP on my #idw op love tag.
As for specific parts I would recommend... since you don't want to read through all of IDW1, I'll go ahead and recommend you things based on in-universe chronological order rather than story release order, but if anything here interests you then I would recommend reading IDW1 in release order so that you get a better grasp of the story's context and how new lore was given out over time:
Chaos Theory and Police Action by James Roberts (The Transformers 2009 issues 22-23): I love love LOVE the way JRO writes Optimus talking to Megatron during the present day, it's very IDW-Optimus flavored because of how blunt, abrasive, and snappy Optimus is. There's a part in the comic where Megatron claims that he "knows [Optimus] better than anyone else," and he's right, but it's also true that Optimus knows Megatron well enough to see that he's bullshitting and it's very entertaining watching Optimus slowly lose his patience with him. I love the dialogue especially, no one (canon or fandom) has ever quite written the same IDW OP who's in this set of comics. It's also the most MegOP comic of all time because the sexual tension and the subliminal imagery of them doing BDSM together is unreal, plus it really captures their dynamic of two old soldiers who snap together with chemistry despite (or perhaps because of) being such long-time enemies. They just UNDERSTAND each other so well. Also, as a bonus point, Chaos Theory is where the pre-war lore for IDW1 began being published, so if you read Chaos Theory then the context for future pre-war lore makes a little more sense.
Shadowplay by James Roberts (More Than Meets the Eye issues 10-11): More pre-war lore that picks up where Chaos Theory/Police action left off. Important because it establishes a lot of IDW OP's character relationships, especially with "the Senator," Roller, and to a degree Ratchet and some minor side characters. I don't really know what to say about this besides it's just really fucking fun to read and features IDW OP getting to do cool shit like fight bad guys, investigate conspiracies, and do heists while also establishing one of his key character traits: being disastrously gay for suspicious men that he places entirely too much trust in to tell him what the right thing to do is.
Spotlight: Orion Pax by James Roberts: Okay, I'm really sorry for recommending JRO's stuff because it feels like favoritism and I don't even think JRO does the best version of IDW OP, it's just going in in-universe chronological order means that a lot of JRO stuff ends up first on the list. This one doesn't really have much of consequence in it and is honestly one of the weaker Spotlight issues, but like Shadowplay, it involves Orion Pax doing fun action shit and having way too much trust in a suspicious man (a new one from the suspicious man in Shadowplay).
The Autocracy Trilogy (Autocracy, Monstrosity, Primacy) by Chris Metzen: Oh my fucking god this is THE IDW Optimus to me, this trilogy is literally what made my ears perk up to even start liking IDW OP because it's what took me from "Optimus Prime, that's the guy who's the super awesome leader that everyone likes and is a paragron to everyone, yeah I know him" to "Oh.... holy shit this is such a good plot/worldbuilding, Optimus has so much CONFLICT and DRAMA with other people." It covers one of my favorite periods of the general Transformers formula, namely pre-war and early war plot events as conflicts come to a boiling point, there's political conflicts and personal conflicts, the planet is falling to shit and everyone is trying to escape and things are as depressing and scary as you would expect for a war that's literally about to consume a whole planet. I found the general plotlines to be gripping and intense (Autocracy is the weakest in this regard, but the writing gets better with each book) and I really like seeing how Optimus grapples with leadership. Especially the negative parts where people hate/fear him because of his association with Zeta's regime (the previous Prime, who Orion worked for), call his judgment into question, refuse his calls to action or waver in their faith in him, and so forth. I found it to be a really nuanced yet sympathetic view of IDW Optimus that made me fall in love with him. Because really, the thing that humanizes a character the most is making them flawed, and Autocracy trilogy Optimus is so incredibly flawed and conflicted. And also it shows him being shit on by other characters in a way that's well written in a plot that makes sense and doesn't feel like the entire plot is conspiring to shit all over him.
The Death of Optimus Prime by James Roberts and John Barber: This comic is basically the transition from phase 1 to phase 2, it establishes the branching plotlines of MTMTE and exRID, so this is another one of those comics that will help you understand IDW1 better if you want to read for more than just Optimus. Anyways, DoOP is great because it has a similar vibe to the Autocracy trilogy in that society is chaos and full of people who fucking hate Optimus' guts for the role he played in the war. You can also compare/contrast the way OP was before the war and early in the war versus the way he is after the war and see how much the war changed him (Chaos Theory also kind of is like this but it more shows bitchy Optimus specifically in his dynamic with Megatron). It also features a fair amount of Optimus Heroic Moments, Optimus Brooding, and Optimus being so fucking depressed he's literally sad when he wakes up and realizes he's not dead dude get some fucking therapy please I'm begging you--
Punishment by John Barber: This skips ahead quite a bit in the story but I think stands decently well on its own without having to understand the wider context. It's one of Barber's best-written stories and one of the only ones I've come back to reread for its own sake. It features Optimus trying to solve the murder-mystery of a bunch of Decepticons, featuring really cool plot conflicts like Optimus trying to navigate post-war society and the tensions that still linger from the Autobot-Decepticon war. I really like this one because it has that whole "not everyone loves OP and a lot of people hate him for justified reasons" thing that makes IDW OP a much more 3D character, PLUS it has some politics with the way Decepticons are treated post war. And I think it does really interesting things with Optimus in terms of showing how he DOES have this idealistic, merciful side that wants people to choose peace and letting go of vengeance, but of course it's not so easy to expect that of people after a 4 million year war. So when people inevitably choose violence, Optimus gets frustrated and angry and lashes out in a way that feels very real and understandable. It's a really good example of a comic that shows IDW OP in a nuanced way, showcasing both his virtues and flaws in a complicated situation that shows that there's no easy solution to these problems and no way for Optimus to escape without getting his hands dirty. Unlike future comics which involve OP being in complicated situations but instead the plot is super contrived and seems to overwhelmingly shit on OP without ever mentioning the very obvious ways that he could be defended, creating a story that's conceptually fascinating but incredibly mediocre in execution.
If I had to recommend any single one of these to read, I would recommend the Autocracy trilogy the most because it's literally the story that made me love IDW Optimus and made me realize "whoa, this guy is super nuanced and not what I expected of him." That's not to say that no other Optimi have depth and nuance, but I think the Autocracy trilogy was great for me personally as one of the first IDW1 comics I read. It struck a really good balance between "uh Optimus was part of some bad things that warrant being shit on" and "Optimus is struggling to overcome those bad associations he did, succeeding with some people and failing with others" and "Optimus is an optimist who has faith in others even when they don't have faith in themselves." Also, as a bonus, the Autocracy trilogy also features cunty murder-husband Megatron, an interesting character arc for Hot Rod, and the Dinobots as really interesting supporting characters (including their leader, Grimlock, having a cute veteran-rookie dynamic with Hot Rod that I wish we got more of).

After a week of being with the Parker's, I know that I want to stay, but I'm not sure if i'm ready to leave. for the past week I've been sleeping in the spare bedroom. It's walls are a pale shade of blue and the bed is made with plain, flat colors. the mixture of grays, and off-whites made to please every guest that will enter. it's far from the cluttered, colorful bus that I had called home for all those years.
The question of "are you okay?" derails my train of thought. The unexpected noise makes me jump. I look over at the open doorway and Peter is there looking concerned.
"Sorry!" He says quickly "I didn't mean to sneak up on you like that!".
"oh it's totally fine!" I ensure him "I'm just not used to having other people around, that's all!" I tell him. the last thing I want to do is to be a bother to anyone. not after they'd been so kind to me.
"Well that explains the aimless wondering and inaudible muttering." he says. "I walked past and in the corner of my eyes I saw you staring at the wall!".
I realize that I am indeed in the middle of the room aimlessly pacing around.
"So, are you okay? Is the room not working out for you?".
"NO!" I blurt out a little louder than I should have. "I mean no!" I repeat myself more calmly "The room is great! It's just, different from what I'm used to back... well I guess not back home. this technically is home now, but..." I feel like I'm talking to much, why am I complaining? God I'm so ungrateful-
"You're not being Ungrateful kid!" Peter blurts out. "Hell last night when I said good night you responded with 'I'm sorry'!".
"Oh." I respond nervously. "I said that out loud, didn't I?"
"Yeah, you did" peter says chuckling. "So what I'm getting from this is you like more of a hotel guest than a household member, am I correct?"
I nod quietly.
"So why don't you go bring your stuff here? I'm sure that would make it feel more homey!" He says cheerfully.
Then it all clicks.
"That's it!" I say ,"that"s exactly it!" For a second I feel myself about to run up and hug him, but I stop myself, and desperately pray he didn't notice.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After collecting boxes, bins, and other helpful tools. I step through the portal and take in the familiar sent of the forest. The sage bushes, the royal blue pine needles, the cozy smell of the mist. I didn't realize how much I missed it until now. The city smells of cigarettes and street food and whatever else the citizens of New York bring around the city, so to be back here calms my soul.
Suddenly I realize why I have trouble sleeping too. A calm, isolated forest and the busy streets of New York are definitely two drastically different environments. And, well, blasting car horns are not what I would exactly call relaxing or soothing noises to drift asleep to.
I put all the clutter in boxes, and fold up the bedding, that I haven't used in months.
one of the last things I pack up are my clothes. the fashion in Peters universe, is, well different. for one, it's weird for men to wear dresses there. In my universe, Earth #1252008 It's normal for tailors to regularly make custom tailored dress for anyone. I look at the dresses in my very spacious, but hidden, out of the way closet. I haven't worn any of them since she... since the accident.
I haven't had the need to, plus, they probably don't fit anymore. after I got bit, i got a huge growth spurt and got a much more muscular build. i couldn't wear half of my wardrobe. next to my old dresses is my suit, I haven't worn it since I proposed, here in these same woods.
I look out the window, that shows her... memorial. I realize now how strange it'll be not seeing it first thing every morning. sometimes, when I wake up and open my eyes for the first time that day, for a split second, I can see her standing by mine. and then before you can blink, shes gone.
"She's gone". I say to myself, "stay focused".
something forces me to leave the formal wear here. I take whatever is left in the closet and close it firmly. To distract myself I take the decor off the walls. the last things I want to take. their mostly from shows I would force jade to watch with me. She-ra, The Owl house, and hours worth of movies with convoluted, over extended universes. after they are all taken down, I look at the empty walls, and the bare bus.
it feels wrong.
why does It feel wrong?
then a thought hits me. What If I forget all of this? what happens when our home becomes nothing but an empty abandoned bus?
What if I, by doing this, I lose her all over again. what we did. what I couldn't protect.
I look around the bus and I realize, that there's still most of the things inside. all of which are covered in thick layers of dust.
their Jades.
as I look at all her things, the memories attached to them come flooding back to me. the things that made her laugh, cry, happy, mad.
It's to much.
my breath gets hitched in my throat, tears come cascading down without warning. I run out of the bus away from the memories. she was here. she laughed here. she loved here. she cried here. those things meant something to her. and they still wait to mean something again. I back away from the bus until I bump into something behind me.
I turn around to see her name etched into a stone.
If I do this, does that mean that I leave her again, I leave behind the husk of our life, collecting dust on a shelf?
I look at the pictures on her grave. we look so young and happy. she deserved to see another day, to survive, to live.
But she didn't.
I did.
but I never lived after that, I survived.
is this my chance to live again?
I look up from her name, and i see her, in the bus.
she nods to me.
and I live.

i know this is long! so if you want to skip around (it’s marked) feel free too!! i just want to hear some of your thoughts on this video https://youtu.be/HGPM7306Ezw
Yep that was long! I didn't watch the video but I read the transcript 😜
I don't like a lot of the things he says (will get to that in a moment) but I do agree that Phase Four seems to be trying to do the same as the comics: bring a lot of new characters to the screen & the old ones are retconned and their personality and actions depend entirely on the director/writer who works on them...
That's probably the reason why the multiverse feels a little too much. Variants can be an interesting tool but everything is the same, the other universes vary on the most frivolous things ("red means go!") and the variants are one-dimensional, defined by one action and the OG characters don't ever truly learn anything from them.
The writers should take previous stories and characterizations into account because the MCU is a connected universe, or at the very least that's how it was sold to us. However that consistency is nowhere to be seen nowadays.
Also the last thing I agree with him on is regarding the Blip. It feels more as a stepping stone than a cataclysmic event that should affect every single character in these movies and series. It baffles me that they actively refuse to address it, they might say something in passing, but the characters we know from previous movies they're the same pre and post-Blip. That makes no sense.
Now, he has really, reeeeeeeeally bad takes on certain things and I'll talk about that after the cut because I can already feel it's gonna get long! Up ahead: Black Widow, WandaVision, TFATWS and Loki.
Black Widow
If I were to address every stupid thing he says about Black Widow I'd be here all day. Let me sum it up: this guy doesn't know the difference between "I didn't like it" vs "It was wrong".
The names he calls Yelena are... well, no need to repeat them here. I re-watched the prison scene again, she's not thinking of causing an avalanche, she's being shot at from that tower so she fires her weapon to kill that guy, she looks surprised when she realizes what that explosion had caused. Also, from what it's shown in the movie all the inmates and the guards made it safely back inside the prison so I don't know where he gets the idea that Yelena is a "psychopath".
WandaVision
OP complains that we never got to find out how Hayward got ahold of Vision's body. Hayward mentions the Accords several times throughout the series, like ep8 when he's trying to provoke Wanda by showing her what Sword is doing to Vision's body. Their exchange is:
Hayward: "We're dismantling the most sophisticated sentient weapon ever made" Wanda: "Vision is not a weapon, you can't do this" Hayward: "In fact, it is our legal and ethical obligation"
That's how they got him.
Then OP goes on to say stuff like "Wanda just wanted to play house with her dead boyfriend" or he mentions "her fake ass family, her dead ass husband, those two little shits that aren't even real". So... yeah, it doesn't surprise me he didn't understand the series.
As for the claims that Wanda is excused, forgiven, treated as a hero bla bla I'll just link to this.
TFATWS
Oh man, where do I start with this one?! OP is wrong on so many levels.
He claims Sam should have "related" to Walker instead of fighting him. Uh, that's what he and Buck did:
Bucky: "He didn't kill Lemar. Don't go down that road, believe me, it doesn't end well" Walker: "I'm not like you" Sam: "Listen, it was the heat of the battle, okay? If you explain what happened they might consider your record. We don't want anyone else to get hurt. You made a mistake"
And then Walker attacks. They were trying to empathize with him, he's the one who refused to listen. But sure, blame Sam, why not 🙄
In fact, OP's claims to defend Walker are mind-blowing to me. He says Lemar died "on Sam and Bucky's watch", that they should have been cooperative with Walker from the start, he calls Bucky a "petty child" who is mad because someone "replaced his best friend" and that they were laughing when the Doras were trying to "kill him". The fuck?
Now, the shit he says about the Doras... big yikes. He says Walker was just trying to "cooperate" with them but the Doras were hyper-aggressive and tried to kill him "just for unwelcome touching". Oh and this line "it's funny when the African warrior women are needlessly aggressive". Yikes.
But OP of course goes on a rant to defend Walker's murder of Nico. "Cut him some slack" he says. Um, how about no. But the best line? "Besides, Steve killed way more people than Walker did" 😂😂 Sure thing, sweetheart, it's the same thing.
Everything that happens is Sam and Bucky's fault, Walker has no responsibility whatsoever for anything and if he makes a mistake is due to "bad writing", not because he's bad. I swear the Walker stans are unbelievable.
An easier picture is painted about OP when you keep watching and he starts talking about the Flagshmashers and the GRC.
He says the GRC were just trying to "accommodate" half the population and this thing about opening borders willy-nilly and people moving to other nations and crossing borders isn't all so good, that would cause bad, bad trouble! Damn, why do I get the feeling I've heard this anti-immigration bullshit before...
But he doesn't end there, he says Karli and the Flagsmashers were defending the same thing as Thanos. Because... of course they were! For some reason... wait what was it... oh yeah, they want immigrants and poor people to be treated as everyone else and be given safe housing and food and healthcare. Yep, it's the same as what Thanos wanted. Thanos was a socialist and a commie, you heard it here first, folks!
Was I surprised that after this OP claims the CW movie directly dealt with the collateral damage caused by the "recklessness of superheroes"? No, I wasn't 😂😂 Oh Stark stans loving Walker, a tale as old as time.
Loki
This one is short. He claims Loki had always wanted to rule -- eek! wrong. He claims it would make sense for Loki to take over the TVA because he just wants power -- eek! wrong again. Then he says they turned Loki into a good guy and that's wrong since in the past he wanted to blow up a whole planet, "why would he care?". Yeah, OP is not good with nuance, that much is clear.
"Loki is a dude who tried his bit at being an intergalactic conqueror". Sure thing, sweetie.
Well, that was long. I can't say I liked watching (I didn't watch it, I read it) this video, OP is pretty bad and has awful takes. I'm looking forward to never hearing from them again 😅🤷‍♀️

You have earned the right to choose.
Not my first time beating Cyberpunk 2077, but my first time getting all the endings. Except PL because I didn't unlock it but I did watch a video. And the suicide ending because well... not for me personally.
Obviously everyone's choice of ending is different, but after playing through and doing every path, I feel like Don't Fear the Reaper + Temperance is the one that feels the most like V. At least, how I play V.
After losing Jackie, V really distances herself from doing ops with other people. There are multiple times when she has very traumatized responses to anything that resembles the Konpeki Plaza gig. During PL, I did it mostly blind and ended up going with So Mi and sent her to the moon. Even if she betrayed V, she clawed her way to survival and I couldn't see V faltering at the finish line for her. That isn't what she would want someone to do if the roles were reversed. She liked Reed a lot but he also made his decision.
Following all of this, the only approach of the end that makes sense is Don't Fear the Reaper. V wouldn't want anyone involved, not like how So Mi did it. And she can't lose any more of her friends, especially can't be responsible. There's a line drawn there.
Originally, I fully planned to put V back in her body for the six months because that seemed like what Johnny wanted too. I even picked that dialogue option and she said, "I said I would give you my body, but I can't do it..." and I had to think about it more. Can she not do it? At this point, Johnny is her friend too. If she returns to her body, it's impermanent and she can't know what being absorbed into Alt will mean for Johnny. My V also happened to be a very skilled netrunner so it makes even more sense for her to go. So she walked down the path, and Johnny did try to stop her. "A little guilt and you give up?"
But it was her choice and in the end he had to let her go. It kind of felt like repentance. Two people fight through a tower of armed guards, barely clinging to life, but this time she gets to make sure her friend gets out alive.
I can't know what happens to V when she's integrated into Alt - maybe something like Delamain's merge. She gets enveloped in Alt but becomes a new part of her, not a lost part. And Johnny gets his last second chance, and honestly it seemed like he wanted to do right by V's sacrifice.
I think he told Rogue and only Rogue, based on the voicemails and man did she hate him for it. She called him selfish, but it wasn't his decision to make regardless of how he benefited from V's loss. I do wish he maybe told literally anyone else, even just that V was gone. It seemed cruel to have everyone scared for her and wondering what happened, if she's alive or dead. But I get why he couldn't find a way. They would probably hate him for it even more than Rogue.
The other endings are the same tone, sad. But they felt less connected to me, made less sense as to what V would truly do.
I'm probably done with Cyberpunk for a long while now, if I ever come back to it but I do hope eventually CDPR makes another game in this universe. I think they built something really cool and intricate, there's a lot I want to know more about. Probably will be a very very long time though, maybe even longer than TES 6. Oh well.
Anyway, just needed to get all my brain thoughts out somewhere.

wait how would you rank the fighters in the batfam? (I'm asking because of this #I don't know when comics decided Dick was somehow the worst fighter in the batfam when he's been doing it longer than like anyone but like.)
Oh hmm 🤔 ok I haven’t like read everything so if this seems unfair that’s totally ok and I def take constructive criticism. I’m also not including Harper/Helena/Kate because quite frankly idk where they stand it’s kinda inconsistent to me because they seem to rely on the plot more so than like objective skill (and tbh I think Kate’s skill is kinda op and weird in universe she like didn’t even finish military school 😭) and I’m not putting Damian here because he’s baby so it’s not really fair just know as an adult he should be better/equal to Dick but rn he’s baby
1. Cass : obv though I will say I think writers need to not be scared to let her lose just because she knows what someone’s gonna do doesn’t mean she can stop them. Also she can’t literally read minds emotions like I’m putting her here but honestly I think writers should nerf her a bit so they’ll like. Actually write her instead of just putting her in fighting/emotional support scenes like. Not gonna write an essay here but someone should because her fighting skills is kinda the writers crutch instead of like. Her character 😭
2. Dick : it just makes sense. In universe he’s supposed to be the best I’m sorry the entire point of his character in regards to how the entire family views him is comparing themselves to him and save for Damian when he’s older it really doesn’t make sense for anyone to be a better athlete than him period. Like he’s 2nd for reasons in universe and out
3. Jason : truthfully I wanted to put B here but honestly I do think Jason is probably a better fighter at this point and whilst I’m not anti Tim in this regard Jason does body him every time 😭 I’m not entirely sure it’s like. Earned but yeah he can have this ig. Man died I’ll give him third place
4. B : I know I know we all love to hate him but honestly I don’t think the next couple people have ever been written consistently as better fighters then him (or would it actually make sense tbh).
4. Babs : ok so cheating here but I’m gonna go ahead and like tie Bg Babs w B they’re about the same obv she can’t fight as well as him as Oracle which is fine she was never the best fighter and is textually and narratively a better hero as Oracle. But they’re also equals so she’s here ok
5. Tim : look if DC allowed him to grow up I’d put him above B but on a narrative level I’m not sure he’s actually presented as his equal consistently or DC has even committed to it and truthfully I’m not really sure he’s a better fighter than anyone above him like this isn’t me being mean to Tim I’m just being honest like B and Babs? Maybe but anyone else? No not really
6. Ok so I went back and fourth here on Duke or Steph and I’m gonna put Steph if only because Steph just seems more scrappy to me but honestly they’re tied it really doesn’t matter it’s kinda relative this is where I’d place like. Any other batfam member too (Harper, Bette, ect) as in their skills are entirely dependent on who’s writing them and hasn’t really been consistently flushed out yet. It’s just. Not top 5 agsfdhsry
If anyone has anything to add/correct pls feel free to comment honestly

"Where's the essay OP" Said no one, and yet here I am
Lampy isn't stupid, he's neruodivergent: a rushed-together masterpost
Disclaimer: I'm not a liscened medical professional but I'm neurodivergent who's close to many neurodivergent people so I know when certain traits strike me as very familiar... Also tblt is my comfort movie I've seen it probably over 100 times, not exaggerating, so if anyone here's an expert on it, it's me.
I'm only going by the first movie because while To The Rescue and Goes To Mars probably have evidence to back me up, I don't feel like sitting down to watch them as I don't have them as memorized as the original
Point #1: Lampy is arguably the most intelligent appliance in the movie
Honestly it apalls me that so many are convinced that Lampy is an idiot when he displays some of the most intelligent traits in the movie. I'll just list off some of the most important scenes that show this
1: When discussing a way to get to the city, Lampy comes up with plans that end up failing, true. But we should also consider that not only did Radio and Toaster come up with bad plans before deciding on the swivel chair, but 2/3 of Lampy's ideas involved the same mechanic: on something with wheels(yes the mattress had wheels for some reason) being powered by Kirby
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2: "From here you can see the really big lamp!" This scene is simply due to the appliances being sheltered from the outside world. Lampy displays the same level of naive-ness as everyone else: Radio seems earnest in calling the sun a "really big lamp", and Kirby calls the grass "shag carpet". Lampy is not at a lower intelligence in this scene, he's exactly at the same level as everyone else
3: The scene with the storm really sells his intelligence. The appliances have a rudimentary understanding of electricity, most likely from being appliances, but Lampy displays an excelled level of understanding by sacrificing himself for the battery. He understands that batteries are powered by electricity, lightning is electricity, and by using himself as a lightning rod, he acts as the conductive metal to easily transfer this energy from the bolt to the battery. Technically this should have overcharged and fried the battery but we'll suspend disbelief for the sake of this movie.
4: He knew that stacking the appliances to roughly human height, creating a dark environment with ominous sounds, and putting Toaster at eye-level to scare the human with his own reflection... Again, this is an intelligent understanding of how to scare a human
Tumblr media
5: It's unclear on whose idea it was to look up Rob in a phone book, however this shows that not only can Lampy read(most likely picked up from being Rob's reading light), ESPECIALLY when Toaster struggles to read, but also has an understanding of phone books, addresses, and finding humans based on family names. I cannot stress how intelligent this is for a sentient desk lamp
There's a few more minor examples, but these are the biggest cases. Lampy is intelligent.
Point #2: Lampy struggles with social cues and doesn't empathize as easily as others
My biggest point here is when people think neruodivergents are "dumb" for having trouble picking up on things like sarcasm when that just... isn't the case. A few notable examples include:
1: When Air Conditioner says "You're a real bright little lamp", Lampy doesn't pick up the sarcasm and thinks he's being complimented. Though he definitely shows a level of emotional intelligence because he looks to Toaster to confirm "hey I was complimented", sees they're still looking angry, and gets the hint that he was insulted without someone needing to explicitly tell him that, to which he then responds with "Heyyy >:("
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2: Sometimes he's able to read the room and pick up on tones, but other times he shows a level of emotional density. Legitimately not knowing if Rob had returned even when seeing Blanky disappointed to the point of near tears... But then knowing "brains wouldnt hurt either" was a jab at their intelligence and reacting with appropriate annoyance... But also when Radio says "Things could be worse!", doesn't realize he's just saying that to make Toaster feel better and asks "How could they be worse?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3: He bullies Blanky alongside Radio and the others, unclear if he's actually being a jerk or just "oh this is what everyone else is doing so this is the normal way to act", but he's legitimately confused when Toaster tries to explain why they're suddenly being nice to him. He doesn't get the "now I feel better" argument because his argument was "Well you were never this nice to him before". Even when Toaster tries to explain why it feels nice, it just doesn't click... until Toaster finds a way to explain that connects personally to Lampy's own emotional state. He has trouble empathizing until realizing "oh this is like this thing that I feel sometimes"
Tumblr media
4: Something I've noticed when gathering evidence is that more than once, Lampy goes "Wow..." After someone gloats about themself(Twice with Radio, once with the Computer). It's clear by the third time, when Radio goes "What does that mean?" And Lampy responds "I don't know. [To Computer] What does that mean?" That he doesn't even know what's being gloated about, let alone why he should be impressed. He has the emotional intelligence to recognize when someone's gloating and the "appropriate" response of amazement, but it seems like it never comes from a place of earnest. (While Neurotypicals can and do engage in "performative" behavior, I tend to notice this way more commonly with neurodivergents)
Also the "wow..." Performative thing is VERY reminiscent of Peridot from Steven Universe(a characters who many autistic fans see themselves in and the creator herself saying she doesn't consider Peridot or any of the gems to be neurotypical) going "wow thanks" as her default "this is how I've been taught to show gratitude" response
Tumblr media
Point #3: Miscellaneous traits that could be neurodivergent
These traits COULD be interpreted as neurodivergent, but I will admit they could also be interpreted as something else so like take these with a grain of salt
1: Lampy appears to have sensory needs. When sleeping, he needs to tap a rock a few times(presumably to make sure it's "right") before clonking his head on it. It's interesting because rocks aren't a very "lamp" thing whatsoever, and none of the other appliances look for pillow-ish objects to rest on, so this could be a sensory thing.
2: Lampy has an interesting vocal quirk: repetition of phrases at the beginning and end of a sentence. Instances include "How exactly do you propose we do that, exactly?" "All of a sudden you're being so darn nice to him all of a sudden" "The fact is there's just not enough facts" The third one is a bit of a stretch but the first two seem to indicate a possible pattern of speech. Part of me wants to say this could be a verbal tic or some type of verbal stimming, but I've never met anyone who has a tic or stim like this so I can't say it's a neurodivergent thing with confidence, but I wanted to mention this quirk regardless.
3: Physically saying how he feels. Two instances where multiple characters are laughing, Lampy speaks while laughing "That's funny - I'm dying!" "I'm aching with joy!". It's just interesting that no one else speaks while laughing and for whatever reason, Lampy needs to verbalize "Yes I find this very funny" as if simply laughing along isn't enough. I've seen somewhat similar stuff in neurodivergents who have issues expressing emotions implicitly so they state them explicitly instead.
4: I've noticed Lampy isn't touchy... except with Radio. Some neurodivergent people can have issues with physical contact, which could explain that. But I've also noticed that Radio also gives me huge neurodivergent vibes... But more importantly Radio is extremely touchy with everyone, Lampy included, hence them often getting into physical fights but also just- tapping them or wrapping a cord around the other and pulling him close(they're so in love but that's a post on its own). A possible explanation is Lampy having issues with touching others, but either feels comfortable being touchy with Radio(due to emotional bonds and trust) or simply recognizes "Radio likes being touchy so I should be touchy back". A stretch of an argument, I'll admit, but I think the interpretation is there and valid.
In conclusion
I mean idk if Lampy was written to be neurodivergent or if the writers just wanted him to be "quirky" and accidentally gave him a lot of neurodivergent traits, but he reads as very neurodivergent to me(probably autistic or adhd but I'm not a professional and can't diagnose him). But while I can chalk up neruodivergency being one of many possible interpretations of his character, I WILL argue that he's not "stupid" given the evidence we see throughout the movie
Tl;Dr: Lampy is evidently intelligent, but sometimes struggles with social cues, empathy, and overall shows numerous traits of neurodivergency

Heya so this might be a bit tmi and I don't quite remember if it ever was addressed in the op canon but how does Luffys reproduction work in your mermaid AU? Would she lay egg(s)? Does she get her period? Does dragon being a human change anything about her biology? When she ever meets other merfolk, is her human lineage frowned upon? Are all the guys really down with intercourse with a fish "vagina"? ( I really love your art and story btw, feel free to ignore if this is to obscene)
So this isn’t tmi for me bc yes I did personally think of these things ^ ^;;;
BUT, if this is TMI for anyone else, feel free to skip!
So, on Merfolk biology.
We know very little about merfolk/fishmen biology in canon, other than that:
 1) they can interbreed with humans, which means compatible biology that probably isn’t too different (example: Big Mom and her daughters Praline and Prim, who are mer),
2) fishmen and merfolk are also reproductively compatible, and
3) the physical appearance of children isn’t necessarily going to be the same as their parents (they fish halves might be a completely different species, the genes carried over from ancestors. This is explained in canon).
This leads me to assume that they have live births, like humans (which means I am deeply, DEEPLY concerned about poor Otohime when she was carrying Shirahoshi, who as an infant was already multiple times the size of her mother. but then again, there are plenty of other Concerning size differences in the OP universe too, not just limited to merfolk, so perhaps we’re supposed to not think too deeply on that). Anyway, for the purposes of this AU, merfolk pregnancies work more or less like human ones.
Regarding periods though, I thought about how it might be a little awkward, given how most merfolk have their tails uncovered, and how it might be okay if they were always swimming in open water, but Fishman island’s mostly developed and idk, it could be unsanitary to just sorta be leaking. So I thought hm, what do rl ocean creatures who have live births do? And I was reading up on dolphins, who guess what, don’t actually have periods! What do they have instead? Heats.
So that’s right folks, in this AU, merfolk (and to be fair, fishmen) don’t have periods, but DO have heats/ruts, although they won’t be nearly as aggressive as you’d expect from, say, an omegaverse AU ^ ^;
Do Luffy or Ace know anything about this? Absolutely not :)
~~
As for the other questions:
Do other mer care about Lu’s possibly mixed heritage? Possibly, but we’d have to be clear about her heritage first, and we’re not clear even in canon, so no answer here. They’d be concerned about other parts of her though, such as her heavily-human(?) upbringing.
And does anyone care about her being a mermaid? I mean, I doubt it, given how very VERY obvious it is that she’s a mermaid? ^ ^; I don’t think anyone who matters in this AU or any of my works cares about Parts.

Hello dear Misc tis I the angst king in your inbox~ I had an angst idea the other day where basically, you know the poofing system in Steven Universe when a gem's physical state is near death they retreat into their gems to regenerate? Well, I had the idea of maybe Doffy, Ace and Law reacting to their S/O get poofed (lets say bc of a df power) for the first time and they actually think they are gone for good. Its okay if you don't accept it I know its kinda weird lmao
(So for OP lore's sake, I'm gonna call their DF the Gem-Gem Fruit. When the user is damaged too much, they retreat into a gem shaped like their favorite fruit that's also their favorite color. Examples for reference:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Doflamingo
Doffy would be more shocked than upset at first. One minute you're walking next to him through the royal gardens, and the next, he hears a gunshot go off. Before he realizes it, he hears you gasp sharply and in one instant, he no longer feels your hand. He can hear who fired the shot, frantically yelling to one of their collaborators that he was aiming for Doflamingo--and missed.
He doesn't even look down at where you were laying on the ground, immediately rushing to ensure your killers didn't escape. A vein on his forehead bulged and his typical smile was gone as he slowly and sadistically subdued the would-be assassins, using his String Fruit to manipulate their bodies into killing each other in a brutal fashion. They killed you. They killed YOU. A part of him wanted to be angered at you for dying to such nameless worthless lowlives, but...he never could stay mad at you.
When he stopped seeing red, he looked back at where you two had been standing and stared at the spot where your lifeless body should have been. There was something glittering in the sunlight, and he cautiously made his way towards it to examine it, holding it up by his Strings. It was...a fruit? A crystal fruit?
As he looked at it, he swore he saw your reflection inside of it. You were sleeping soundly, floating around in a little void as you curled up against yourself. He stared intently at the gem until he realized he wasn't hallucinating, and then slipped your gem into his coat pocket before making his way back to the castle.  Just to make sure he wasn't the only person who could see you in there, he slyly asked Jora if he could see something within the interesting "art piece" he'd found. When she said it looked like you were in there, he made his way to his bedchamber and set your gem on the center of his bed. He spent the rest of the day waiting for you to appear, not letting anyone else in the Family know about what had happened to you.
When you finally reappeared, Doflamingo was sitting in his chair with a relieved (and slightly annoyed, because you hadn't told him about this ability) smile/smirk on his face and asked if you enjoyed your brief "rest".

Ace
You were always throwing yourself into the heat of battle alongside the Whitebeard pirates, insisting that you'd be fine no matter what happened to you. Even if you'd told Ace about your ability, he still wouldn't be prepared to see you seemingly die and then see your body vanish out of nowhere.
When that finally did happen after you took a sword through the chest that Ace had failed to notice a Marine that had tried to ambush him, Ace's heart stopped when he saw the blade sticking out of you. It didn't seem real. It couldn't be real. His eyes widened even more when you slumped forward slightly and then disappeared, startling the Marine and everyone else who was watching the battle. He heard the sound of something clattering to the ground and saw a crystal fruit laying where you had just been standing, and he immediately knew what it was even if he didn't know the specific details of your ability. He could just tell you were in there, somehow.
He drove the Marine who'd stabbed you and his nearby allies back with a wall of flames, scooped your gem off of the ground, and sprinted away from the battlefield to get you to safety. Even if you survived that sword through the chest, he had no idea if your gem could be broken...or what that could possibly do to you.
Marco had seen Ace tearing away from the fight, and once he had dispatched the enemies he was fighting, he flew over to ask what had happened to you. Ace immediately placed your gem in Marco's hands and told him to get you back to the ship while he "took care" of the Marine who had stabbed you in a cowardly attempt to take him out from behind. Marco saw the look in Ace's eye and knew better than to try and convince him otherwise, and he flew back to the Moby Dick while carefully holding your gem to his chest.
When the battle was over, the entire crew was clamoring to see if you were actually inside of a gem and were asking Marco and Ace dozens of questions (most of which they couldn't answer). Marco offered to keep your gem in the ship's clinic until you re-emerged, and Ace refused to leave the clinic for longer than a few minutes at a time until you were back. He noticed that if he squinted into the gem hard enough, he could make out an image of you fast asleep. When you finally did reappear, Ace was so happy to see you in the flesh again that he hugged you with tears in his eyes and refused to let go of you until he'd held you for at least five minutes. Even if you could survive things that would normally kill a person, he never wants you to get poofed again on his watch.

Law
Law's rarely ever panicked during a battle, outside of fighting Doflamingo when he knew how one-sided it would be until he teamed up with Luffy. But the moment he sees you get sent flying from a massive enemy's punch and then slam against a wall that crumbles from the impact, his only thoughts are to get to you. His normal sense of composure is completely gone, and he Shambles everyone near you as far away as possible while he desperately yells your name. Even if you already told him what your Devil Fruit does, and he knows that you likely aren't dead...he still just saw his s/o get hit with a devastating, fatal blow. The logical, rational part of him is thrown to the wayside for a moment and is replaced with a protective sense of fear and worry.
He's even more worried when he can't find a trace of you among the rubble. If he can't find you, he can't take care of your injuries, and if he can't take care of your injuries, he'd lose you and...shit, where are you!? He'd be Shambling away random piles of bricks while using his bare hands to throw the other ones aside until his hands were scratched and bloodied. When he finally comes across a strange crystal fruit, his eyes narrow; despite the destruction of the building, and looking so fragile, the gem was completely intact.
His breath hitched when he caught a glimpse of you inside, and he felt a small sense of relief. Your ability had protected you, you weren't dead...just…recovering? Reforming? The specifics of your Devil Fruit were a mystery to him. Once he got back to the Polar Tang, he'd want to try to see if he could detect any kind of vital signs from your gem while you were inside.
He'd stay on the battlefield long enough to swiftly and coldly take out the large enemy who'd poofed you, and shortly after the lingering enemies would either be wise and retreat, or get killed by the Heart Pirates as they made their way back to the Tang. Law would immediately place your gem in the medbay, experimenting with different ways to observe your vital signs while you recovered: heartbeat monitors on the gem's surface, detecting changes in temperature from inside the gem, etc. The only thing that reliably showed anything was just looking into your gem to see you, but you weren't doing much--just floating peacefully with your eyes closed.
When you finally emerged from your gem, Law immediately sat you down onto the medical table so he could check you for any signs of injury or changes to your body now that you had reappeared. After that, he'd gently put a hand on your shoulder and try not to let on how worried he had been when he'd seen you get hurt. He never wants to experience that heart-sinking feeling from seeing you "die" any time soon.

The anon that sent the long message here again (with another big message too!): I didn't see that post that you said the OP was probably referring to, my bad. Still, they're being extremely aphobic (ironic, huh?) accusing a literal ace/aro person of being an aphobe, especially when looking at your blog for more than a few minutes, it's CLEAR that you are 100% pro-ace / pro-aro.
I would honestly block that person, they seem a little too... unstable? That doesn't feel like the right word because I'm genuinely not trying to insult them. Like I think they fell into the discourse crowd and went to the extremist side of "if it looks like it's supporting shitty people/statements then context is completely unnecessary, they're guilty call them out now". Which has gotten plenty of minorities bullied off of here by "allies" with discourse blogs not checking their sources or information.
They're not worth your time, or your emotions. They're a stranger in a sea of strangers. Block them, and anyone who seems to have appeared through them. Those extremists pockets aren't very big and often never have actual reach, so it'll die with their blogs whenever they grow up and mature.
Lastly -- I would contact your professor and let them know what happened with the internet being down. Especially if this is college. Practically any instructor will brush off any deduction for being little late if it was caused by something out of your control, especially if it doesn't happen often and you make sure to communicate. That's what most instructors (and people in general!) want -- just communication.
i just got to this, sorry.
1. Yeah, I... I don't know. My discourse blog is specifically for being a little shit. And if you look at the rest of the conversation that happened there (on that post), it should be very clear that that's what was happening. Contrasted with my posts on main and my more genuine posts on that blog, I don't know? I genuinely don't know. I don't get it.
2. I don't have to worry about blocking her because she has already blocked me. (She also apparently marked me red on shinigami eyes, which is... wild, because I don't know what I did that was transphobic and nobody has told me yet.)
3. I've already updated my bio to reflect what I'm going to be doing. I'm just going to be on less, for my own sanctity of mind.
4. I did tell my professor what was up, actually! God, I hope she's understanding about my connection issues. On the bright side, I'm done with this semester of college! So there's something silver in this dark cloud. I just have to clean up my dorm and move out.
5. Obviously you shouldn't, like, platform TERFs, especially on your main blog, and I'm sorry about that post I reblogged a few days ago. I should have known better, and I took it down as soon as it was pointed out to me that OP was, in fact, a TERF. But, like... me getting pissed at yet another troll blog made specifically to mock my identity isn't the same as that. Of all the things I could theoretically be called out for, this is the thing?
If anything, all this proves my fears-- that someone is watching every little move and misinterpreting everything I say as something malicious. I know myself and I know that all this is going to make me wildly paranoid and I'm already jumping to the worst possible ends (somehow this gets back to my university, they don't believe me when I defend myself, I get kicked out, someone finds me and recognizes me for what was said, etc.), so I think it really is best if I go on that semi-hiatus. (I want to say, though-- it's not someone else's fault that I'm being so up my own about all this. I'm generally a very anxious person and there's a lot happening right now, so it's making it a little harder to cope with what's happening on here.)
Also, for the record: I'll probably take this ask down when I go through and take down the other posts. Hopefully this all blows over and I can do that soon.
edit: this is the one post I'm going to keep up. i'll link it on the deleted posts log, though.

TF ask meme:
19. A character you love that no one else seems to
21. A pairing you love that no one else seems to
37. Least favorite TF universe(s)
38. How did you get into transformers
19. A character you love that no one else seems to
IDW Optimus hands down, although the longer I spend in the fandom the more people I find who understand and love him as he deserves, so the feeling isn't as lonely and annoying as it used to be. :)
Mmmm but who's a different character I love that no one else seems to? Maybe Pyra Magna (IDW1) because non-MTMTE characters in general don't get a lot of recognition, and I think her CONCEPT was really interesting plus she's hands-down the sexiest female TF of all time.
I think Impactor would qualify? It's not that he's widely and unjustly hated (like IDW OP) or ignored (like IDW Pyra Magna), but I don't see a lot of posts that are focused on Impactor or anyone who has a deep attachment to him? He shows up a lot in Wreckers-related fanart but mostly in action things, not a whole lot of character meta. I'm not insane over Impactor like I am with others, but I'm definitely emotionally attached to him and don't see hardly anyone else who feels Emotions (TM) over him.
21. A pairing you love that no one else seems to
Not sure I have an answer for this, because although I do have my fair share of rarepairs, I've managed to find niches for most all of them (or am not invested enough in them to be sad about how rare they are).
37. Least favorite TF universe(s)
Can't really say I've consumed the most TF universes compared to other people, and the main reasons I have "least favorites" are mostly due to the fandom than anything else.
I think my least favorite might be TFA purely because of how trash some of the takes on Optimus are (uwu sad baby twink who's so depressed and everyone abuses him and he's so scared and full of anxiety and needs a big strong bot to show him how the Autobots are evil and he deserves love!!111!!!!!), but also because.... Well, the show itself was really good, but a lot of the "deep and dark" lore is pretty much entirely contained in side material and includes some stuff that you would literally not have a clue about just from watching TFA. And due to some past fandoms I was in, my #1 media pet peeve is that I HATE when the shows make you buy supplementary material that completely retcons/recontextualizes the story instead of just putting that new story information IN THE ACTUAL STORY!!!
So yeah, TFA to me is a good show, but as far as how "deep" it is I think it's severely overrated and a lot of the common fanon takes about it are really annoying anyways.
38. How did you get into transformers
Reading Victory Condition by astolat because some friends of mine from my job at the time linked it in the group chat. I was bored and alone in my room one night and decided to click on the link they put in chat (they aren't TF fans, it was just from some podcast thing) and read it.
