Okay, I joked somewhere about how me writing what I've been writing has made me not want to look Maverick in the face, which kind of isn't true, lol. It's not that I dislike Maverick for what I've been doing, but that I just don't think about Maverick that much anymore? At least relative to Bradley. I'm serious - if I was going to write some guy taking it in the ass, it really was always going to be because I loved and cared for him more. It's that case when I read bottom!Mav, and it's that case when I write bottom!Bradley.

I think TGM was sort of "ruined" for me simply by the fact that there isn't enough Rooster, lol. I certainly don't have a problem with Maverick, but Rooster has the largest part of my heart now, so the whole beginning sequence I'm fairly lukewarm about (and it used to be my favorite part...I mean, I'm sure I can learn to love it again one day...I really hope I won't always feel the way that I do about everything now).

To be honest, for the first time this year over this weekend, I found that I could listen to the TGM soundtrack again and actually feel positive emotion...because I was thinking about Rooster. I was literally in my car, tears streaming down my face, because I realized that I could finally associate these songs and feelings, not only with Maverick (which does still bring me sadness because, of course, remembering how much I love Maverick reminds me of the people I used to be able to love him with), but with Bradley, whom I had never tried to love before until this year. And loving him was something I really didn't try doing until this year - all by myself, when I had no other hope - and I've found that the breadth of how much I love him has allowed me to survive as long as I have. And I think I have...I really have always loved him this much.

Okay, I lied about having to do it alone. I have one other person, who I think sees and loves all the amazing qualities and intricacies in him that I do, but with actual writing talent, lol. Thank you for writing my baby to life @bog-beast. :') Thank you for giving me a way to love RoosMav in my own special way when I felt there was no way I could do it anymore. OUR Rooster.
