➳a/n: the first part of a series of short mun fics I hopefully am able to write :) maybe if there’s enough interest?? also a reminder that requests are open!!

You hated this.

The room which was usually your sanctuary, where you could wind down after a long day, had become your own personal jail cell that you wanted nothing more than to just escape. You could theoretically; no one had forbidden you from leaving but just hours before, (maybe it was less than that, you felt way too delirious to think straight so you’re perception of time was completely broken) the one and only So Mun swaddled you in blankets like a baby so you couldn’t even move if you wanted to - if your room was a prison, then these blankets were a straight jacket.

“So you can sweat it out.” You remember him saying before leaving for the nearest convenience store to get you some supplies. So now here you were incapacitated, feverish yet shivering and limbs feeling like they were made of stone.

You blamed So Mun for this.

Looking back, there was no real reason to (especially how he was the one taking care of you) but him leaving you in that state was enough for you to want to plot your revenge. Was this some kind of sick, twisted joke to him? Did Mun think you didn’t love him enough so he left you to die?

After what seemed like an eternity, your door finally slammed open to reveal Mun who was carrying a plastic bag on his wrist.

“Took you long enough.” you rasped out, shooting him a glare as he approached you. He laughed at your quip while placing his palm on your forehead to check your temperature. Instinctively you leaned into his touch, cooling your hot skin.

“How are you feeling?”

“Oh I’m just peachy” you exclaimed sarcastically as you sat up, though that proved a bad decision as you were hit with a wave of nausea as soon as you lifted your head off your pillow. Mun was quick to support you by putting his hand on your back.

“Here, have these.” he said, offering some pills and a bottle of water. Taking the medicine from him, you gulped it down quickly (you didn’t realise how thirsty you were until you’d already chugged more than half the bottle) then flopped back down with a sigh.

“I hate this.” You vocalised to Mun. “I wanna move and eat without feeling like I’m gonna throw up everywhere.”

“You will be able to once you get better. But that can’t happen unless you stay still and rest.” Mun nagged which made you groan frustratedly.

“I’m so over it though!” You complained. “I feel useless just laying here while you do everything for me. Like- you’re my boyfriend, not my mother!”

At that, Mun laughed while squatting down next to your bed so his face is eye level to yours. He tangled his hand in your hair, playing with it gently.

“Have you considered that maybe I like doing this for you?” You gave him an unimpressed stare.

“It’s true! Is it that hard to believe I want to take care of you?”

“But don’t I annoy you when you have to do all these things for me?”

Mun shook his head, smiling at you brightly. “You’ll never be annoying to me. And it feels nice to have you rely on me for once.”

“I still feel bad though…” you mumbled into your covers. He pried away the blankets from your grip, uncovering your face to peck your cheek quickly. You made a confused, unintelligible noise and looked at Mun, who was smirking slightly.

“You can just pay me back when you're recovered.” He suggested it in a way that made you roll your eyes. And here you thought he was doing this out of the kindness of his own heart.

“What if we have a picnic in the park? Then we can eat after we have a walk, like what you wanted.” He continued to muse. You groaned and turned on your side so your back faced him. You thought he was stupid. Stupid So Mun who never had a selfish thought in his brain.

“But you’re still just doing whatever I want!” You whined, cheeks getting hotter than they already were. You couldn’t see him but you already knew Mun was probably laughing at you - he always seemed to find joy in your suffering.

“What I want is to see you have fun and be happy.” Mun explained as he grabbed your shoulder and rolled you onto your back to face him. “And you’ll be happy if you do the things you want to. It's a win-win situation!”

“You’re so cheesy.”

You scrunched your face into an irritated look at his words, baffled at his perfect answer. He just smoothed out the creases between your eyebrows with his thumb but you swat him away.

“We can discuss the details later, just focus on getting better. Are you hungry?”

You shook your head definitely but your stomach gurgles violently, defying you. Mun laughs at you before getting up (presumably to get you food).

Before he could leave, you grabbed his hand stopping him in his tracks. You sat up, ignoring the way your muscles ached in the process.

“Let me come with; I’m sick of being in this room.” Your legs wobbled as you tried to stand, weak after not being in much use, but Mun acted fast and swept you off your feet, taking you by surprised

“Didn’t I say I’d do everything for you?” He teased you as he carried you in his arms to the kitchen.

Do not follow this blog if you are sensitive to the sensitive topics related to this particular genre. I tag with "content word cw" for the extra wild stuff, but that's about it. adam literally has the highest swear/slur count in the show and he's only in 3 episodes, so be aware of that.

I tend to be private/selective as i get fairly overwhelmed with too much activity. i really get into plots though, and i'll spam the dash with some silly original dick chauvinism from time to time when ive fed my inner gremlins past midnight. That said, I do get easily overwhelmed when I'm following too many people and multi muse blogs in particular can exacerbate this feeling, so if I do not follow back - I might just not be in a good place to atm or I just don't see possible interactions btw our characters. It's nothing personal! ^^

This is a mutuals only interaction blog for my sanity (anons being fine). if i can see plots happening between us, i'll likely follow. but i get overwhelmed easily so please don't take it personally if i don't follow back or follow back right away.

I am not exclusive, but I prioritize my plotted threads and may have some mains/activity based off that as far as my main verse goes. But I will never be fully exclusive and i enjoy exploring different character dynamics. Also multiship is fine, but I am not exclusively here to ship or write suggestive content. My muses have always and will always require plotting and scene chemistry for me to consider writing ship material. In the case I do reblog shippy prompts still feel free to send in ofc! I'll see if I can make it work or not.

If I don't get a follow back within a week or two, if blogs i follow go inactive for up to 6-7 weeks, or if there's just no attempt on either of our ends to connect for an indefinite amount of time - i'll occasionally go through my list and soft block to clean things up. if we ever want to give it a go in the future, the option is there for us to re-follow and resume! i have in the past been made to feel like I'm walking on egg shells in rpcs regarding these matters and id rather avoid it here...im just here to chill, write and leave weird surprises in dms.

I don't like the feeling of being 'collected' so...if you are interacting with multiple of my muses, I ask you have a different dynamic for mine than them. This is just an act of courtesy I also extend to my rp partners. I interact more with folks that have a special relationship with my muse, so it's needed to deep dive into more interesting topics for me. I also do not usually interact w/ other of the same muse cuz I feel like I 'absorb' how others play him and I want to keep my version separated from that. I might give it a shot some times though depending on how it's presented.

I know that Adam is a bad guy. He's insufferable and can push buttons- but I am not him and I dislike constantly feeling like I'm being barraged for his actions, especially since I consider him to be a heavily layered character that should not be shoe horned into a standard 'ok irredeemable and never allowed nice things' box. So- if you honestly hate this character please don't interact. I am here for exploring taboo topics and ways that a flawed character can make others think he's justified, betray them, make people feel COMPLICATED things... I also love torturing my muse and taking the piss out of him, so I don't need people moving in and tying to constantly put him down/ruin his current plots by being god modey or not at least asking me how we should proceed in a power dynamic, or relationships cuz you don't ship what I ship, or find my interactions with other characters 'toxic' and 'not allowed'...let me explore and enjoy what I like on my blog within reason and do talk with me on dms if you don't like how things are going with our muses and you wanna explore other routes. I love to plot and I am very reasonable.

I’m a safe space for LGBTQIA+, sex workers, drag performers, and people in recovery/seeking sobriety. I myself am in recovery, and I will be more than happy to lend an ear if you need it. preferred communication: i say discord, but i'm terrible at keeping up with communication anywhere you find me. a lot of the time i read messages and think i've replied when i haven't 💀

experience: i don't remember what year i started writing but i know it's been more than a decade, damn. i've been all over the shop, from disney to star wars to marvel, where i was for a long time and i took a break when life got busy, tried a multi muse half a dozen times, the witcher, briefly dabbled in asoiaf, and then the animanga & final fantasy rpc leading up to astarion's debut ✨

preferred roleplay type: it really depends but i'm a waffler so i do prefer at least one paragraph. i like a mix of dialogue and descriptive writing, so i suck at one-liners. if we're talking genres, i'm not overly picky but i find conflict and dynamic exploration the most interesting to write. despite absolutely loving slice of life in media, i struggle to maintain interest in actually writing it out for an extended period.

pet peeves & dealbreakers: i guess breaking general rp etiquette, guilt-tripping or vague posts of course, particularly in regards to activity or engagement.

plot or memes: honestly, i'm better with memes. i can struggle to come up with plot ideas right off the bat, so memes help get the braincells going and writing juices flowing. i also find it can be a nice ice breaker if we're new mutuals!

long replies or short replies: i do prefer long replies so long as there's context and purpose, if that makes sense. i'm not going to give you five paragraphs of nothing to work with or try not to.

best time to write: i am mostly available on weekends, but the best time for me to write overall is at night. if i have the day off, i will find something else to do until then, unless i'm overloaded with muse inspo. however, overall, i'm trying to not place so much pressure on myself to be constantly dishing out replies and it's helped with keeping a hold of his muse tbfh.

are you like your muse?: i definitely think we have some similarities. i can take a little while to honestly open up to people or just drop bits of personal lore at random times lmao. i do have my own stuff that i'm working through, so i can have moments where i distance myself from people i care about. it's like tunnel vision, so i can hyperfixate on something and neglect other aspects of my life both online and offline. i can also lean into humor or sarcasm in situations i'm uncomfortable in ( ˶˘ ³˘˵)♡

hellos. dusting off my old sideblog to throw up this request bc that feels like a good idea. i've responded to a couple other searches, so i'm realistically not looking to take on too many more. little bit about me, i'm a 29 man, live in the central timezone [ i think technically it's cdt bc it's currently july... but don't quote me on that ], used to consider myself a reader reader but me and the books have been beefing these past few months so that isn't occurring as frequently. maybe because i've been giving rp more attention. i've been rping since at least 2009, but most of that has was on forums like proboards/invisionfree/jcink. i have only recently really been a discord rp girlie

really only looking for m/m plots at this time. mayhaps one day i will go back to doing hetero ships, but for the time being that's not really something that interests me. i don't have a robust collection of muses that i pull out of rotation, that's just never been how i rp... if you see a guy on my main blog [ blakegallo ] the odds are that i would use them as a face. because i cut my teeth on forums i do typically only use actors, musicians, and the occasional model as faces; i typically steer clear of people who social media people. it's really just a matter of personal preference. i am willing to consider a fandom based rp, but would prefer something that is more oc x oc.

as far as preferences go i do write in the third person past tense. i don't really have any interest in breaking the discord message character limit for replies. i would never do a one liner, but a nice well developed paragraph or two is usually good enough for me. i like there to be something to respond to and get a nice back and forth going. i've seen a lot in my decade plus in the rp community and i've definitely done responses that are what the girlies call novella length now and that's just not something i'm super invested in returning to at this time. i don't have any interest in rping in dms, i think that things are just more organized in a private server. i also prefer for new threads to be individual channels just because i find that easier to scroll back through than one general channel, but that's me. i am a tupperbox girlie... and so i do have a slight preference for using them. it's not a requirement by any means, i have more 1x1s that don't use them currently than do, but just throwing that out there. i also find that doing something mumu is just easier for me with the tupperbot, but we can make it work if you aren't for it.

as a sidenote, i also do really love text threads. in my time perusing the the tags i'm not sure if this common because so many of the requests i see are for the novella level girlies. but sometimes i might have time for some quick banter between our characters. i also find that characters texting leads to where a next thread should go. as a vibes girlie i just like letting the characters sort things out sometimes than us as muns going back and forth figuring out where the plot should take them next.

plotting for me tends to be more organic. i really don't like to get too far ahead of ourselves. to me it's like writing a romance novel, we know these characters are eventually going to get together, but the journey to that destination can be whatever we make for it. so the ups and downs and angst along the way is what makes it fun. obviously i'm all for tossing ideas back and forth about how we think we should handle something or where we should go next, but i don't really have any interest in outlining the whole journey and then just hitting the beats.

so please be 21+, 25+ honestly would be even better and like this if you're interested. i might read the occasional high fantasy book, but that's not a thing i am all that interested in. i might be up for something vaguely paranormal, but i'm really more a regular person writer. give me the lives and the rich and famous or mess happening in suburbia... i'll reach out from my main blog in tumblr dms and we can go from there if we think it could be a good fit.

Zander and Alastair have been nothing but kind to me, and while I'm still nervous about talking to them I do very much care for them. BEST EXPERIENCE? oft hard to answer, i have both so many and the world's most appalling memory. the excitement of any budding new ship is truly what keeps me going, but i do remember one in particular with a bar tender muse of mine and a 'straight' firefighter that just... oh it was good. then more recently it would be meeting @okajibana and forming my whole existence around her, you're stuck with me now! plus every time i get a notification from @irrwicht or @temporalobjects my day is always improved.

New Year's Resolutions: RP Edition

Howdy all, Ash here. I've been having a think while with family this week, and I've decided I'm going to implement some new 'resolutions' to try and help make writing in 2024 be way more successful than in 2023. This will include things from the running of blogs to jobs I really want to get finished. I'm putting them under a read-more to keep the dash nice and clean.

I will say, this has taken me an hour to write up, and I'd recommend you doing likewise if you think there's little ways you want to improve.

Overall Running of Blogs

I'm going to experiment a new approach to running the blogs. For this, I'm going to put all active blogs to low-medium activity. In other words, even if I am personally lurking on mobile, I won't be constantly writing things if I'm not able to. (Work is just about to get super busy and I'm anticipating chaos)

A queue/schedule function will be used for all blogs. I intend to dedicate one weekday evening to working without interruption on replies. Taking commutes to the city and family visits into account, this is looking to be a Thursday, which is the only day I am neither travelling to the city nor have a guaranteed family visit. Of course, this may fluctuate, but that's what I'm hoping to work with, assuming those things stay as they are.

However! What all this means is that I am going to tentatively take skullandbowties off hiatus. With that blog being quiet, it should be possible to juggle it better now. Plus, it's officially off-season so the demand for him from new blogs ought to be low. I'm very smart :D

I also plan to update all pinned posts. I am aware some of them are marking a vacation from months ago.

Individual Blog Maintenance

Create "New Here?" posts to add to the pinned posts/info tags. This is going to be a very quick crash course on what to expect from the blog, especially where some characters might diverge from fanon expectations.

FINISH. WILF'S. BIO. It's not actually relevant to anything being written on the blog itself at present, but I really want to flesh out his character and show that he was stuck in stories for years, decades even! The doc has the word count to 4,888 at this precise moment. This is a mix of summary and brainstorm. Since it's getting a 'little' out of hand, I intend to have a 'tldr' at the start that people can read, and then longer versions if they're curious to get the full story. Maybe even have it that they can jump to particular parts but... I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Likewise, Noah's version of Space needs to be finished. This one is going to be a summary, but it's a case of making sure the pieces are in place sufficiently to have parts match canon Space, but also make it clear that there is a lot of differences between canon and what he went through, with his plot entirely spiralling away for 'Part 2'. This is at 5,794 words, and the ending has yet to be ironed out...

(I am going to stop creating needlessly long-winded projects for myself that realistically add nothing of value to my blogs. These two projects are exhausting...)

Theauthorlives is returning to a very small multimuse. Any muses that aren't ones I genuinely enjoy writing are being fully archived, unless they are muses that get no traction but I want to keep the possibility open. Details of that will be shared when I do this.

Redo some muse icons (not all of them!). Though the selection I have for particular sets is a lot, I still feel like I'm missing some expressions or poses. I would like to remake one batch of icons for three characters, and finish iconning a third. Replies seem to be shifting toward iconless, but I like them for asks or IC commentaries.

OOC/Mun Related stuff

Following matters that have happened both online and IRL, I've decided to take a step back from actively engaging with people. My focus will be people that I have been in good communication with for the last twelve months (as well as people I don't talk to frequently but am on friendly terms with) rather than people I feel I have to 'chase' after. Saying that, I'm going to try and not let past experiences meddle with anything in with new writing partners - whether these are brand new to the community or people I've not had the chance to properly interact with prior to this. Just be aware that I might not be super outgoing at first. (This is where setting limits and boundaries is good practice, everyone! Don't sell yourself short, and don't spread yourself out too thinly!)

Which is where I now say I want to send even more asks! Not just memes or sentence starters, but general questions about headcanons or muse opinions. I want to get people thinking more.

My stance on Discord still stands, in that it's solely for OOC stuff, but I'm not giving it out to everyone. However, I have been in two group servers that have little-to-no connection with writing rp threads in them. I would hope that I can fully regain my sense of comfort using Discord as a whole.

Art related

Despite socially stepping back, I still want to keep some semblance of 'community' where my blogs are active so people don't feel isolated. For instance, I want to do something that encourages invasions of ask boxes. That was good fun to watch as the chaos began to spread, and when people are good-humoured to go along with my silly ideas.

I want to have one huge art-related event at some point this year. I'm not entirely what or how to do it, but I think it would be a great excuse to practice something. Portraits, comics, something like that. I'll have a think. (For those who remember, the water gun event was supposed to have an art conclusion but plans for that fell through.)

I want to try and upload drawn responses to heythereneighbor once a week if I can. Obviously, this is depending on how busy it is.

I'd also like to try doodling more on other blogs? But I'm not sure if this is even something people want to see anymore. People might prefer I focus on writing if I have free time instead of doodles or little comics.

... the writing blog. I need to do stuff with that in general. Whoops.

Finally, I want to do what I can to the best of my abilities on a particular day. I've always told people over the years that real life comes before rp, and I still stand by that. Whether I'm around or not every day isn't the end of the world. The communities I write in are a lot slower paced than they were when I started, which is great! I need to remind myself that I don't need to be writing just because I have a bit of free time.

one day when soojung was home alone with her parents, two assassins broke into their home

they were prepared to block her parents powers but didn't expect soojung to be there, so they couldn't control her

her ability to create portals through mirrors manifested then, and she and her parents escaped that way

they moved to x palace apartments after that, for the higher security if nothing else

soojung became a Little more dedicated to improving her abilities after that, just so she could protect her parents better if something like that happened again

eventually she got bored and started slacking again though

she also started streaming herself playing video games, and her charisma manipulation manifested to help her gain her own lil following

people who follow me without reading my rules. it's the bare minimum. it's my only requirement. i can ALWAYS tell when somebody doesn't read them. the lack of respect is icky.

a villain is a villain. do not follow me if you cannot handle her rude comments or disturbing actions. please don't expect her to be nice just because your muse is 'special'. louise will not care...unless you're a monster, but that doesn't mean monsters are safe from her wrath if they end up provoking her.

when i see a RP blog with no tags. it's so difficult to navigate and find specific things like prompts/memes. i will not bother checking out a tagless account.

people who refuse to interact with OC's. why?? do people not know canon characters were someone else's OC?? the math ain't mathing!!

I think about Sonia at some point, for some duration, every day. I usually have at least 1 reply to write at any given time and if I don't, I'm generally getting thread ideas or headcanons through all the other media I tend to consume (I get to watch some TV as part of my job. This helps!).

But beyond that...

Sonia and I both enjoy horror movies, documentaries about cults and unsolved mysteries, and anime. I don't watch as much Japanese and Korean dramas as I used to, mostly because I dislike reading subtitles: I like having the TV on while I write and I can't write and read at the same time. We also prefer tea to coffee, but she's much more of a snob about chocolate than I am. We share some clothing preferences and styles and while my family isn't quite as dysfunctional as hers, we both come from at least one side of an extended family that belongs in the upper middle to upper class. I sometimes use anecdotes from my family for various character traits of hers, but not too much.

A few fun facts:

One of my aunts was briefly married to a European aristocrat. He was a jerk who divorced her pretty quickly and refused to see his kids after.

Another one of my aunts cannot understand why I don't quit my terribly paying job and disappear to England, France, and/or Italy for an extended period of time and set up my own business, unable to understand that her mother financed her entire lifestyle after she went into deep debt several times. My parents do not do this, and I enjoy having a steady paycheck and health insurance (this is your cue to understand I'm American and over the age of 26!).

My grandmother from the rich side of the family threw a fit and refused to speak to me for most of my teenage years because I refused to have a debutante ball and I wasn't conventionally attractive. I was overweight (still am), shy (yup!), and nerdy (this too!). Geek conventions and cosplay were not suitable interests for a debut into high society. In turn, she was one of the first debutantes in her social circle in her city and believed I, as the eldest granddaughter, should follow in her footsteps. I was the least favorite grandchild until the day she died.

And that touches upon some of our differences. Sonia is conventionally beautiful/attractive, outgoing, an extrovert, smiles easily, and makes friends easily. All things I am decidedly not (I'm excellent at resting bitch face, however). She's also much better at math, science, and memorizing many languages than I am: I feel like I've forgotten so much of my French. That I studied between the ages of 8 to 22. Another reason to go back to France!

I also am obsessed with fictional royals/wealthy people and royal documentaries/dramatizations. I've most recently finished the new season of Bridgerton and My Lady Jane, and once I get through a few more romantasy selections on my Kindle I have the new Kevin Kwan book to read (I'm trying to make it last! I also want the Crazy Rich Asians TV series like, now). Sonia dislikes any media about fictional royals and dramatizations and would prefer not to watch them.

The last nice thing I saw is all the lovely asks that @yukikorogashi is getting! She's on hiatus mostly right now but her mutuals are being so kind/sweet/understanding about it and that they wish her well, and it's wonderful to see.

I also hope Beckowsky comes back soon for RP on both her blogs and to share her Munday OOTDs! But until then, I'll cheer her on from here.
