sometimes showing up is just bringing urself down from that mental ledge. just going hey. it’s okay. it’s not a big deal. there’s a chance they don’t even know this bothered u. it’s unfair to think ur hurt or displeasure will telepathically translate to them. just calmly communicate. it’s fine. it is absolutely not a big deal

woke up this morning annoyed at a friend’s actions and i literally resolved w myself to just avoid him for the next 2 weeks. but then i was like!! no!!! life is too short not to voice our feelings!!! life is too short to be avoidant!!!! life is too short to subscribe to cutoff culture or to place the unrealistic expectation on people to know our feelings without saying them!!! therefore i am simply going to communicate my feelings!!!!!!

#i would hate to be someone who doesn’t have a good head on their shoulders #+ doesn’t know when it’s appropriate to just communicate #esp when a friend matters a lot to me like idk why i try to just push them away #plus i need to develop patience w these things bc i just wanna set the precedent for open communication #i also think cutoff culture is truly vile and i don’t wanna buy into it bc it gives me this false sense of confidence #all it really is is insecurity and inability to properly navigate conflict #god being a gen z girl is so hard bc i always think i’m immune to these ideologies but i’m a fish and they’re water literally #i think it’s just getting normalized for me w everyone my age liberally cutting people off / ghosting etc #but i’m trying to rise above it #p
