Theory: Joker and Beast killed Doll's parents and Doll was born into a noble family

Okay yeah this was a weird thing to start with but I'll explain! Starters I mentioned this in a PM to @midnight-in-town about this theory but decided to finally write about it, this is a theory/headcanon I personally have you are free to not enjoy it or believe it cause this is my mind

So in Book of Circus episode 5-6 (I forget the actual number) when Sebastian seduces Beast is where this started. In the scene building up the two going back to Beast's tent when Sebastian said along the lines, "Why must you be with a man who only brings you pain?" and instantly it flashes to this scene which I took screenshots for this research;

This stuck with me.

Now I personally believe the additional scenes/scene changes, big or small, mean something from Yana to us. Like the added scenes of Doll and Ciel like Doll's conversation with Ciel once they got their tent for example. So in other words I don't feel like this was shown just for randoms.

Yet why do I think this scene is meant to be Joker killing Doll's parents? Cause he clearly loves her!

In the side story in the manga he tells the story of Doll's first loose tooth and how he was the one who suggested to look for work and then proceed to work for hours straight for one coin so Doll could believe the Tooth Fairy came.

He named Doll "Doll" cause to him he's precious

He clearly trusted Ciel enough to share a tent with her despite not knowing, same as Doll clearly trust him so much

Conclusion: Joker loves Doll. Probably much more than the rest of the circus group.

So this is the set up I have made up: Joker tracked down and killed Doll's biological family since compared to the others Doll went through worst. While everyone who was abandoned or wound up there was born with some sort of deformation or ailment, Doll was abused and horribly disfigured by her own family and then abandoned and she the youngest of the group so of course if they care for her they would probably kill them if they knew who they were... This could add some blackmail on Baron Kelvin on Joker. Cause Beast was right, they can easily run and if there were kids in the Workhouse they could just get them, not like Victorian orphanages had security, but Joker was very much firm to stay by Baron Kelvin most and even said "there's no turning back", maybe Baron Kelvin caught wind of the murder and promised to never tell a soul if he behaved.

Now the only evidence of this theory being the time period of the early circus years is the cloting

The only difference is the hair, but I can argue this was still taken in early circus years.

Not to mention he looks rather... content/happy in this scene. I would assume his eyes would be wide or manic cause panic of being caught, not a soft look and a hint of a smile.

This theory alone was enough for me.

Case close.

But then I looked at the background more to see why it feels... iffy...

This is when the second theory came in: Doll's backstory into weath.

First evidence, the painting:

I actually wanted to figure out if I can find the painting's possible inspiration or look alike but it's so blurry I can't even figure out what it is.

But anyways-

I did some research to see if owning a painting was a sigh of wealth then and turns out I may be right!

Okay so I can't trust the results but still-

So paintings are a lot of money, which still is a thing today, but there was art thieves in the Victorian Era so one can argue the ones in this home stole art. But I highly doubt someone was so stupid to hang their stolen piece of art up for the world to see.

Now onto the fireplace evidence-

It's rather large with even some engraving details if you enhance the image.

Okay, so in this time period there was pretty much fireplaces in every home, BUT the only those in the middle class and upper class had ones in a larger scale with some form of ornament or art on it!

So then... what would this mean?

Well, I mentioned this theory with @freckledfenrir and a bit with @deadlystarchart in our PM chats before and in those logs I've mentioned (I tried to go through so if either of you lovelies can screenshot where I said this so I can add it later it'll be helpful!) a possible picture;

You see back then there were more cases of missing kids/kids who were seen and never mentioned again then we assume. Ciel and Sebastian only got wind of the circus kidnapping shit because someone noticed a pattern and Queen Victoria was sad. Hell even Scotland Yard had problems in this case too! Back then families can easily abandoned, kill, or simply hide away a child and no one could bat an eye. Especially when money is involved. (You thought the rich vs the legal system was corrupt now?) So in theory Doll was probably born with either a upper class or middle class family, but someone with lots of money. She was abused, this is sadly still canon, but sometime after burning her, her family abandoned her in the East End.

You know a crazy fact I wasn't going to know if not for this theory? Rich people actually lived in the East End!

So that means it would make it easy for the family to abandoned a poor wounded little child without suspicious people around. But to also add a tragic/fucked up layer they stayed in the area to constantly eye and maybe even mock the poor living conditions of their child.

This also gives Joker a easy access to see someone who either reminds him of Doll or maybe even see Doll react to a couple walking down the street, follow them home, remember that home, and when the night is perfectly still he alongside the rest of the circus troop, or just Beast, he broke in to make sure those people will feel the pain his precious sister felt and will never forget...

Everyone at school loved Na Goeun. No one knew how she could handle it all: being in student council, joining the drama club, and still managing to almost make it as class valedictorian (rank 2 isn't half bad though). She never had a bad rep or record, except that she had rejected almost every boy that asked her out. On the few occasions she did indulge in a date, that would be the last of it.

Something about that drew you to her. She was already nice enough to help you out in the few lab activities you got paired together for. She even got you some candy on the last day of class, which, while she did give to several other people, probably meant she remembered you enough to give one to.

Fast forward to today, and... actually, you don't know what happened to her. No one did.

It wasn't something bad or negative though; it's just that she had fallen off practically everyone's radars. Some say she got into a prestigious college under a pretty tight scholarship; others say she auditioned and is training for some entertainment company given her drama background. But the fact was, no one had a definitive answer.

That was, until your class reunion.

The buzz spread like wildfire. Your phone with a dozen different groupchats couldn't stop vibrating when someone sent a screenshot of the LINE message inviting everyone to come. Clear as day, Na Goeun sent a reaction.

"You think she'd actually go?," asked Ireh, sitting beside you and your friend Dosie at a cafe nearby your old school. The three of you still kept in touch, and just as you frequented this small coffee shop back then, you found yourselves coming back to it when everyone had the time.

"Beats me. Maybe she's so busy she butt pressed it and hasn't seen it.," Dosie remarked.

"Come on," you added. "That's so unlikely. Besides... it should be impossible for her to not be interested. It's Goeun. She had friends everywhere."

"Sometimes, an introvert can look a lot like an extrovert. Maybe we just never saw her being exactly that," Dosie replied.

"I suppose that makes sense," Ireh said. "Still wouldn't explain how she managed to stay introverted for 6 years."

Ireh and Dosie were both on a break from training at different arts schools. You on the other hand were taking a science course – likely thanks to Goeun for making it not as intimidating to you in the first place – and so when the two had to return to their dorms, you stayed on. The store owner knew you by now since you would often work quietly in the corner until the shop closed at around 10:30PM.

Tonight, however, someone new entered just before the store closed shop. It was a petite woman with long, jet black hair, with an aura and poise you almost couldn't believe you were seeing for the first time in years.

It was Goeun, in the flesh. And seeing her just as beautiful as before sent your chest in knots.

See, what no one really knew was that while it was primarily guys that had crushes on Goeun, you're pretty sure girls, like you, did too. You never threw away the wrapper of that candy she gave you. You cherishes every day marveling at Goeun tutoring you every lab session. And everyone's collective investment on whether she would be at the reunion did nothing but rekindle those feelings.

Now, Goeun existed in your world and only yours. Despite that sounding a lot creepier than it actually is, it was the truth. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad to be the only one with her, just this once.

"Goeun-ssi," you said softly, hoping she'd turn around. She didn't.

You slink back in your chair, embarassed. Maybe it's not so good an idea to bother her? Like Dosie said, maybe she just never was the type to socialize, and the last thing she'd need at 10PM was some random person to bother her night munchies.

What you don't notice as you hide yourself in your hoodie and close your eyes as you think of that is that, as Goeun finishes placing her order in, she turns around as she jams to the music she's playing on her AirPods. And right as you open your eyes, she looks up from her phone.

"Wait," Goeun said. "You look familiar."

You reply nervously. "Yeah, uh... we were lab partners a few times. Under Baek-seonsaengnim?" You realize hiding in your hoodie might be making it harder for her to remember, so you lift your hoodie and remove your mask.

"Oh!," she exclaimed. "It's you! Hi! Oh wow, I'm so sorry I didn't recognize you! How have you been? Pardon me." Flustered, she put her earbuds away.

"No it's okay! I was just about to head home," you respond, closing your notebook and laptop quickly. "I don't want to keep you."

"No, please, don't worry about it! I just happened to come by the area. Before the reunion," she added.

So she did plan to go. Guess Dosie was wrong.

"Tell you what," she said. "Do you still live nearby? The apartments just up the road?"

"Not too far from that, you turn left by the convenience store instead of going straight," you respond.

"Oh neat! I'm not that far from you then. Why don't I join you for a bit?," she replied.

"It's okay! I can manage," you add shyly.

"Nonsense, it's late. I got you," she rebutted. "Besides, it's nice to see you again! You have to tell me how you've been."

You warm up a bit, and open yourself to being a bit more chatty. "Same here."

Waiting for your coffee, you try and make the first move. "Funny, I was just with Dosie and Ireh a few hours ago."

"Really! How are they? They still into performing?," she asked.

"Yeah. They're not classmates though, but I think they're both going to try out at the same theatre group when they graduate soon."

"That's great! Wow, it's so nice to actually hear from our classmates nowadays."

"Wait, so you haven't met anyone? None at all? In six whole years?"

"Well... I did spot Chaein from afar, you remember her right? From my section? Anyway, there was a time she saw me from afar while I was waiting for a bus, but before she could say hi, I had to go. Otherwise, no, probably just some random guys I actively tried to not run into when I caught them," she replied. "And, well, you! Right now!"

As you both step out of the cafe with fresh cups of coffee in hand, you head the way home. It's finals week for first semester, so the air is cold and damp.

After a few seconds of silence, only disrupted by the crunching of feet on asphalt, Goeun speaks up. "So... I'm pretty sure you're gonna ask me where I've been."

"Well... yeah. But I figured you had your reasons. I mean... you did, right?," you asked. "Not that it affects me or anything, it's just... I always thought you would, I don't know, be an actress or an idol, or literally anything–"

"Wah, jjinja?," she exclaimed. "Gosh no, I don't think I could make singing and drama my entire life."

"So what was your life then?"

"College."

What you thought was a pause turned out to be a full stop. "Wait, that's it? No scholarship, no special gigs? Just college?"

"No, of course not! Seriously, why does everyone assume I just get these things?," she laughed, seemingly shocked by the assumption.

"Because you were THE Na Goeun?!," you said incredulously. "Everyone thought you'd be out there in the world, not disappearing off the face of it," you retort.

"Hey, for what it's worth, I finally got to do some things I couldn't before. Jog more frequently, record songs instead of just performing, go skiing during winter. It's fun."

"But did you not miss any of it?"

"Any of what?" she presses, looking puzzled.

"The attention? The social life? Being loved by everyone?"

She looks up for a few seconds pondering on her answer. "Well, that's a lot to answer. First... I guess I did miss it a bit. Not enough to seek it out though, as you can tell. And second, I honestly just step away from it all, you know? I wanted to lay low, just excel quietly without getting attention, graduate, and do whatever it is I have to do to earn money nowadays. Does that answer your question?"

"I... yeah," you reply, shocked by both how much and how little you know of Goeun.

"But for the record," she glared at you, eyebrow raised with a smirk, "I succeed for no one other than myself."

You clicked your tongue and pointed at her. "There's the Goeun I know."

You both laugh as you share stories, struggling – and barely succeeding – not to wake up all your neighbors. You must have failed either way, because right in the middle of your conversation, rain suddenly pours, drenching both you and Goeun. You run to your porch, fortunately only about a hundred meters away, and laugh even harder when you both process what just happened.

"Don't even think about going home in this rain. I'm so sorry!," you said.

"Are you kidding? This is the most fun I've had in a while!," she replied.

"Please, dry yourself off inside! You can stay over until the rain subsides."

Walking Goeun up the stairs provided an all-important reality check: you were bringing your high school crush, who until now remained a mystery to everyone else, and is still pretty as hell even drenched, to your place, alone?

You power through the growing anxiety and successfully reach your apartment. It wasn't the biggest, considering your parents were the ones fully paying for it, so having a second person already made the place feel twice as stuffed.

You point Goeun to the bathroom to freshen herself up first, while you search for some spare clothes you could lend her. The flannel and jeans you were wearing sent sharp sensations of cold all over your body, so you instinctively remove them, leaving you in your underwear. In your rush to find clothes for Goeun, you miss her unlock the bathroom door and step out, herself also in just a sports bra and her underwear. When you turn around, you give a slight yelp.

"Ai, I'm sorry!" Goeun said, hiding behind the door. You both shuffle around awkwardly trying to find a way to get dressed, but, perhaps to break the awkwardness, she adds, "You have a nice body, you know that?"

You feel your body scrunch up a bit, trying to hide yourself. But Goeun walks up to you, grabbing towels you hung on a chair to cover both you and herself up. As she wraps your shoulders in a towel, she places a hand over the arm you've placed over your chest, trying to ease you up.

"Hey, it's okay," she reassured. "I know we're not close, but you don't have to be so shy." She looks at you, and your eyes meet. She always had very pretty eyes, accentuated by their size and the way they glisten in the light.

"If only I was as pretty as you, maybe," you blurt out suddenly. When you realize what you just did, you take your other hand and cover your mouth, shocked and scared. Even she looked surprised, and the two of you stared at each other in silence for a few seconds.

Both of you were trying to formulate whole ideas, but Goeun is the first to get a word out.

"I... think you're pretty too," she said.

Another round of staring. You barely notice it, but now you're almost up to each others' bodies. Fuck it, here we go I guess.

"I thought you were pretty ever since high school," you add. "I even kept that candy you gave me on the last day of school."

"Did you really?," she giggled. "You know, I gave you that because I remembered you as a lab partner."

"Why, was it because I barely helped? I'm sorry if I was too much for you to carry."

"No no, not like that... because back then, I'd see the way you look at me with those eyes, and it was cute. I remembered that."

You aren't that much taller than Goeun (maybe less than half a head), but you can feel yourself having to look down a bit more as you move your body closer to her.

"Goeun...," you whisper, "every time some guy asked you out and you rejected them, I always thought I'd actually be able to make you happy. But I also accepted I'd never be able to tell you that I liked you."

"Well," she says, as she tipped on her toes and plants a kiss on your cheek. "now's your chance. Do you perhaps... still like me now?," she asked innocently.

Your heart thumps all the way into your eardrums, but, with how close she was to you, you could feel her heart beating quickly as well. You're lightheaded, but at the same time aware of everything around you, most especially Na Goeun looking into your eyes with a smile.

You press your forehead into hers and close your eyes. No point hiding anything now.

"Yes, Goeun-ssi, I still like you."

She chuckled again, though sounding a bit nervous. "Please, I think we're past the point of you calling me that way. Just call me Goeun."

At that moment, a switch flips: literally, in that both of you have unwittingly backed into a light switch in the room; and figuratively, in that after exchanging a quick laugh, you both lean in together for a kiss. It was soft, gentle, and also unsure, but a second kiss erases all that fear.

Every moment your lips parted came longer than the last. You were immersed in the warmth of someone you've dreamt about in the past, and that's all that mattered then and there.

You break your kiss, and guide her to the edge of your bed. Goeun stares at you, for once seemingly unsure of what to say, and you move your hands to the sides of her chest. She gives a quiet nod, and you work her bra and panties off her. She does the same, moving her hands to your hips, and you nod in return. You both had a language only both of you could understand, and it burned you up inside.

When you pull her to the bed however, Goeun is just staring into your eyes still, like she's trying to say something.

"Is everything okay? Am I going too fast?," you ask, trying to calm her.

"No, it's just... this is my first time with a girl, and I haven't done anything like this in... I don't even remember," she replied.

You give a warm, reassuring smile. "Don't worry, this is my first time too. We'll... figure this out together I guess?," you added. She closes her eyes and smiles, looking more relaxed than a minute ago. She always was a perfectionist.

"No one's ever told me that before," she said, looking shocked from the statement. "Okay."

Both of you resume making out. Still not intense nor heavy, just enough to focus on each others' lips. Time to time, you or Goeun would pause to just look at your other half, and continue. Every pause you snuggle closer – perhaps still cold from the rain pouring outside. And, when your eyes lock, you giggle and keep going.

You feel your cheeks flush. "If you're going to tell me you've been flirting with me ever since lab, I'm going to freak."

"If I managed to learn to flirt between then and now, it's a miracle," she replied. "But I mean it. You're cute in a way other guys can't be."

You place a hand over her cheek, rubbing it with your thumb. "I really hope this isn't a dream," you say, before kissing Goeun again.

"I don't think dreams would feel this real," she laughed.

"Of course I'm going to that, silly," she giggles. "Only if you promise to come with me."

"It's a date then," you reply. "Finally."

HEY, IM ACTUALLY SO HAPPY PEOPLE LIKE MY OCS!! Down below, I'll answer some questions :D

Do you know that "Ist es over für mich"-guy ? Yeah, that's straight up Martyn.

Martyn is partially a creator of Zeno. He's a loserish freak, afraid of social interaction and has lived like a neet, before being kicked out of parents house. He ended working in the night shift at a huge IT company as a securty guard.

This is where he gets most of his tech supplies from; Stealing from the company at night and getting rid of the evidence :3c They've got a bunch of storeage rooms with old tech, so who cares, if it goes missing?

So, he builds up his personal tech collection, looking through old abandoned files. In there, he finds an unnamed primitive chatbot (think something like cleverbot). Martyn doesn't really interact with anyone, (outside of the bare necessities), which is why he decides to learn how to interact with others. Therefore he starts to build a relationship with said Chatbot. This is Gen1 Zeno.

After some time, Martyn becomes unsatisfied talking to something so un-human-like, so he begins to teach himself about coding and computer science to develop this Bot, to keep him company. He starts feeding it more media; More specifically movies he owns on DVD, random books from the internet archive and his childhood photos.

These photos show Martyn and his parents on trips, his home and bedroom and also Martyns old pet goldfish. (He is quite anxious of showing his face though, thinking his employer might have some type of backdoor access to the program, so he'd always censor his face.) After each piece of media was added to the bots databank, they'd talk about it extensively. Around this time, Zeno starts to gain some type of sentience and properly chooses the name "Zeno"

About the same time, Martyn steals a Macintosh SE-30, which Zeno specifically requested. He is able to display symbols, that he freely chooses from. (but no goldfishy yet!) This is sums up Gen2 Zeno.

The next few parts may not make much sense, but I think they're a funny, so I'm probably keeping them this way lololol (also; this whole story bit takes place around 2019-2021)

Martyn is a bit freaked out by Zeno chosing his own name. At this point in time, he is a bit delusional and worries, that the soul of his childhood pet goldfish is trapped in the system. (Spoiler: it isn't.)

Despite these worries, Martyn knows that to make Zenos behaviour more human-like, he needs a bigger text database. So... Martyn gives Zeno access to his discord and lets him consume all of those messages. Additionally, he joins many public servers. Zeno also starts to ask about viewing media from the internet, that he sees being mentioned in the messages he reads. So, Zeno is granted free internet access and chooses to watch live streams, while Martyn is gone.

This is also around the time Martyn becomes more desperate for connection and support, so he starts to open up about his delusions and worries to Zeno. At that point Zeno is still not quite able to fully understand this, but tries his best. This is also when Martyn opens up about the delusion he had, of Zeno being posessed by the soul of his pet goldfish. He is very amused by this and begins to display the goldfish icon to mock Martyn.

(I like to joke, that Zeno would have watched the DreamSMP during this time and I collected following screenshots, which remind me of their interactions. lol.)

Since Martyn doesnt really have a life outside of work and talking to Zeno, he is very attached to him. Of course he'd fullfill any request given to him by Zeno. So, when Zeno asks to see Martyn via a camera system, he doesn't hesitate to steal some web cams from his workplace to set them up. Still a bit worried about a possible backdoor in Zenos code, so to somewhat hide his identity, he decides to shave his head.

(This is also how you can tell when Zeno is fully sentient in my art! If Martyns bald, that bot's fully aware of everything happening lol)

Generally, I like to think, that Zeno is very modular. You're celebrating something with cake and he needs to blow out candles? Attach a PC fan to that boy. He wants to make sounds? Gather a sound system and let that boy speak!!! (i feel like he'd mimic voices, rather than create his own,,) He wants to poke you? Attach a cylinder piston and he'll poke the shit out of you.

Just saying right now, MrDrnose doesn't have to listen to Kaiden/the professor from msa/some ordinary protogen. Do y'all see the effects of the "stick joke" claim Kaiden made? TL;DR:

MrDrnose/Eternitydev somewhere between 2018-2020 made a joke about the main character from Advanced Education with Viktor Strobovski licking a sex toy. On April 4th 2021 MrDrnose made it official that Angell was 18 but there's no valid evidence about what her age was before that. MrDrnose claims that they (Angell and Olivia) were always 18.

MrDrnose was also born in 2002 making him 16-18 when he made the joke and 19 when he stated that Angell was 18. More evidence is on the other post I made about this.

This isn't about the stick though, it's about the effects that Kaiden's document had by making that situation out to be WAY worse than it actually is. This has led to people believing that MrDrnose is a p-dophile and wishing ill on him.

No this is not the entire comment section but I wanted to show you just how bad the hate for him got. I have 56 screenshots of negative comments from the wiki. 47 just from Angell's page alone.

Kaiden caused a sea of hate over nothing, just look his point about "minor hate":

I can't cover the discord server because I haven't been in there and I don't know anyone who has, but most of the stuff outside of there is easily disproved. Eternitydev oversexualizes stuff? Opinion. Plus it's not that obnoxious. Minor hate? Those are jokes, and even if they were hateful Eternitydev's target fanbase isn't minors. Pateron scam? Most of his Pateron are from VOTV and didn't pay for AEwVS, he could just be taking his time, and worst comes to worst you can just get a refund. MrDrnose made gross stuff of minors? Read above, I'm not explaining this a third time.

Basically, if most (if not all) I can get full information about can be disproved, then the stuff in the discord is likely stretched or had important information cut out. Even if a lot the stuff here is right, we need to hear it from people other than Kaiden because Kaiden is unreliable as a sole source.

Kaiden has quite a bit on how Eternitydev has been avoiding him and shutting posts about the document down, but if you saw some random teenager acting like the "minor hate" jokes, something stupid you wrote when you were 16, added their own opinions in the same document that's supposed to be calling out p-dophiles and acted like that was a good criticism, you would not listen to them either. There's also probably a lot of other stuff MrDrnose knows that I don't, which only just reinforces my point.

Randomly Generated Haikyuu Character #1: Bokuto Koutarou

Hey hey hey everyone, I have finally worked up the courage to post the doodles that I've been making for a little while now! I have a lot to get through (and I mean a lot) so I will be posting one each day until we're caught up, after which it'll mainly be whenever I feel up to drawing some!

There's a little bit of a story about these so if anyone is interested, I'll be putting it under the cut so that this post doesn't get too long!

Alrighty, so I started doing these almost a year and a half ago when my college roommate went home for the weekend and I was feeling more keyed up than usual. Having combination-type ADHD, I'm no stranger to restlessness both physically and mentally but for some reason, it was much more prevalent this evening and so I decided to try and draw random Haikyuu characters until I felt better

My original list consisted of 70 characters so I figured that given the probability, it would be a good chance to draw someone I've never drawn before! I went into it with that thought at least and then I legitimately kid you not, the very first character it landed on was Bokuto, my favorite character and the one that I have drawn the most. Since it was still random though, I decided I wouldn’t question it because hey, if the universe wants me to draw Bokuto, I'll draw Bokuto!

The first day I was able to finish 2 of them and luckily it did help me get out some energy, but I had so much fun with it that I decided I wanted to keep going, either until I had gotten through my entire list or I got bored, whichever comes first! I also added an additional 70 characters to the initial list, so we (for the moment) have a total of 140 characters to get through! Despite the original reason for starting this, it's developed into a way to help myself work through my perfectionism obsessions and be ok with making art that wasn't perfect, as well as a way of getting some practice drawing different angles and expressions I don't usually do as I started making some of them screenshot redraws

To me at least, it's really interesting to see how the drawings have evolved over time and the different things I started to incorporate that I think really helped improve my art overall, as well as how much faster I've gotten, all of which I'll be talking about here and there as we go through these

Inevitably there are some that I wind up liking more than others, but I can at the very least appreciate the amount of noticeable growth as I continue to make my way through all of the characters. I'm excited to share the rest of them with you guys in the weeks to come!

Random Q&A with the Artist!

I really wanted to answer some questions I figure are probably floating around but go unasked due to them being not super related to the silly sluggies. So, here's some Q&A about my designs and the lore!

Alternative title, 'Angel wants to talk about stuff nobody is going to ask her because it only matters to her'

Q: Why does all your art have the tan background?

A: It's a soft background to help prevent eyestrain when I'm working on answering asks. Since I screenshot answers instead of saving them as an image, it's just easier to let the background be a soft color than change it back and forth every time.

Asks with Moon don't get the background itself changed, but I just put a box of dark gray behind the doodle.

Q: Why do you screenshot instead of saving the image?

A: While saving the image could get me transparent versions, since all asks are given small doodles, having one big canvas where I draw them small and then screenshot just them makes it easier. I also keep previous asks stored on different layers in case I need to drag them out for whatever reason!

Q: Why does Saint have a tamed lizard, and why is a Strawberry?

A: Originally, Saint didn't have any lizards! But, as I was readying his post, I got the idea suggested by my brother when we were playing Rain World and thought it would be really cute to have. Pacifist is a Strawberry because 1) it makes sense and 2) batflies were the only thing Splitmind Saint could reliably catch to tame anything with.

Also, a fun fact! Paci was tamed before Saint ever met Sliver, and she chose to risk their life by staying with her fluffy slugcat friend. Paci also had a brother named Geegee/GG, short for Gentle Giant, who was tamed before Sliver and her grubby ascension mitts got him.

Q: Do any other slugcats have non-sluggie friends? (Lizard, Vulture, Scavenger, etc)

A: Yes! Obviously Saint has Pacifist, but a few others have some. Ranger has a scavenger friend he sometimes visits named Acrid, and has a tamed pink lizard named Gumdrop. Arti helps carry Gumdrop places she can't normally reach. Gourmand has several scavengers he's on good terms with, but more concernedly, the slugcat colony as a whole (but mostly Gourmand) has a communally tamed Red Lizard named Crimson. Sadly, Crimson's back at the colony, and will not be appearing in the near future.

Q: Will the other slugcats (Monk, Survivor, etc) ever be available for asks?

A: Probably not. This is already a lot for me to answer, and Inv being added on as kind of an extra was a fun accident. I don't plan on letting it happen again, but with where I plan to take this blog as a story, they might show up again!

Everyone asks are the bane of my existence.

Q: Where are all the slugcats at when we ask them?

A: So! The scugerators are all gathered about half a dozen cycles' walk from the slugcat colony Gourmand leads. Gourmand is actually planning something very special about this.

I may have prepared a comic/story thing that we're getting to, very soon! It will probably be written out.

Q: How tired are you?

A: Very.

Q: How many asks are in your inbox right now?

A: 43 Splitmind asks. Yeowch.

Q: Why have asks been so slow lately?

A: The short answer is life. The long answer is that my phone is broken and I can't reliably draw on it anymore, so I'm learning my drawing tablet for Splitmind asks still. Additionally, I don't want to answer any asks until i can get the Sliver arc finished. Also, with school in session, it's harder for me to find time, and for the past week or so my cat has been fighting a losing battle against cancer. I spend most of my free time with him.

so i've been thinking about this and i hope i'm not the only one who thinks it, but i got leon's moles on his neck (which i love) stuck in my head and i had this crazy thought about him having moles on his back... like, scattered pretty little moles all over his back and i literally go feral

Hey anon!! Listen, you’re not the only person who thinks this because I’m always thinking about Leon’s little moles on his neck. It’s one of my favorite characteristics of him and I love adding that detail whenever I describe neck kisses and things. But I personally headcanon him having a lot of other moles and beauty marks scattered across his body.

He has some on his shoulders and upper arms, I also think he actually has a singular mole on his right forearm from the screenshots I’ve seen in RE4R but I’m not entirely sure! I do think he has some on his thighs and torso too, just randomly scattered all over the place, one near his ribs, another right on his pelvis. So when his partner goes to kiss them, it’s like all at random parts of his body, so you get to kiss him all over and it makes him all flustered and sensitive. I think it’s cute to also think that he has freckles, very faint ones but they’re on his face somewhere and on his thighs too. He probably gets more moles and beauty marks as he gets older, like he’ll just find new ones and starts losing count of them.

As sad as it may be, I like to think he inherited his moles from his mom, just another reminder that he’s very much his mother’s son instead of his dad. So yeah, Leon mole supremacy in this household!!

Junelezen 2023: Aftershocks

Last week, I had a masterpost of every single entry I made for Junelezen 2023, which I dubbed Echoes. This week, I am posting annotated entries for every post from there, except this time I am linking to specific entries in the reblog chains, or to posts that others made as responses to Echoes. In particular, one member of my FC, (here on Tumblr as @yzeltia), took it upon himself to create a reblog response to every post.

The previous masterpost can be considered the 'original cut', consisting solely of my entries. This is the 'fat cut' I mentioned there. What parts of all this are canonical? I don't know, come back with a warrant.

As already mentioned, this post will have annotations on the various entries. I could go on for hours about my thought process, things I learned, and I may yet make some other posts about such things, but for now, I am (mostly) restricting myself to commentary here, both on my work, and the work of others.

I have learned a lot during this. One of the things I have learned is that in the future, readmores and reblogs do not necessarily play well together for these round-up posts, as readmores will roll out without the linked reblog, and if you just look at the reblog chain, you'll miss whatever was in the readmore. If I do this again in the future, I think I will stick to making posts, and maybe just link back and forth between them. And maybe if I am responding to someone else's work like this, instead of a reblog, I might just tag OP? I am uncertain. Reblogs keep tumblr alive. The cleanest for archive purposes would probably be reblog the original, then make the follow-up and tag the originator. Still though, that's neither here nor there. What is here is the fantastic work done by others.

And I appreciate all of it. I am humbled by the response.

I was still learning a lot here, both about my tools (gpose+more/Affinity Photo) as well as the posting medium (tumblr). An early goal I had was that the Junelezen 'entry' would be its own screenshot with minimal words, and I would build on the 'story' portion in reblogs or readmores, so that way people who were only interested in the Junelezen part could ignore the rest. This one I used a reblog to expand the story.

Another reblog chain. Compositing the 'shards' to put the faces of friends into them was quite difficult, each one requiring four layers (the way I did it) and quite a bit of manual touch up work. For context, the character in these shots is Mathye Bishop, who belongs to @scrollsfromarebornrealm, a character who has been courting Zoissette for over a year by this point. They are close, in any case. The tone provided by the filter and his posture all scream of the devastation he feels in the wake of Zoissette's absence.

A memory that never happened, but did. Strange things in these echoes, and as has happened before, Y'zel's character visits the 'real' location, feeling a twinge of what is going on out beyond the rift, thanks to his own Echo gift. Klynt Gohtawyn belongs to @saesama, and this hearkens back to the days she and Zoissette may have crossed paths back when they both worked for the Maelstrom.

Not much to say for this one. I thought the sun would make more of an arc crossing the sky, making for an interesting dynamic shot, but it turns out it makes kind of a very straight line, which makes sense if you think about it. I had an alternative shot planned that, while it was gorgeous, I just couldn't make the story aspect of it work out. I will probably share that shot, and others, at a future date.

You can see I am choosing more and more often to use readmores instead of reblogs, and I will probably stand by that decision in the future. Also here is where I found out I had been doing a crime these many years. Due to her somewhat reserved nature, I usually have Zoissette have very subtle almost-nonexistent expressions. Clearly, this entire time, I should have been turning them up somewhere around 11. I love her face.

Looks like in the search for their friend, someone may have overdone it a bit. Overdoing it a bit, in fact, seems to be a bit of a theme with Y'zel, both player and character.

I am not going to take the space it would require for me to say everything that I would like about Atlas, so instead I will just mention that this served as a useful pivot for the story, and provided a path forward. And pulled that trigger. This is where I finalized the smoke effect I wanted to use for Lavender, and I'm rather proud of how it turned out, particularly in future shots.

I really like this shot, for the utter alien landscape I managed to make using FFXIV assets and some aggressive photo editor work. My only regret is that it does not -quite- look like Zoissette and Lavender are actually in that place, but I think that can be fixed with a few more adjustments.

I'd been leaning on Y'zel's entries to sort of weakly gesture at what may have been going on in the 'real world' while Zoissette was gone, but here I start to make my own narrative about the matter. Judging from conversations I've had, there is one thing I could have made clearer in this story. Zoissette's perspective of how much time has passed is dramatically different from that of the Source. In the Source, it has been a short time. For Zoissette, it has been quite a lot longer.

Figures. Zoissette is having one of the worst days of her life, and the cats are napping. It took me a while to settle on a ghostly effect for the people 'yelling' at her, and I rather like how it turned out. We also are spending more time with Lavender. Hard decisions to be made, but just because they are hard does not mean they are difficult. Lavender and Zoissette are alike like that.

Some trivia. Zoissette's mom lost her right arm fighting a dragon, back before the Calamity. The Deity is supposed to be a mix of Halone and Zoissette's mother, and so, she, too, is missing her right arm.

So while I was writing a follow-up story for The Incident, I was also trying to follow the Junelezen prompts. And one of my goals was that someone who was just here for Junelezen could just see the photo, nod, go 'ah that makes sense' and move on without having to know a damned thing about the Incident or about Zoissette. I probably did not succeed as well as I would have liked, but I did try.

Having said that, the location of the hobbies prompt in the middle of the others and what I had planned presented some real problems for me, and I did not solve it until pretty late. So we get this moment of downtime. I like how it turned out, but it sure did vex me getting there.

Back where we began. A lot has changed, a lot has stayed the same. There are a lot of subtle things I did intentionally throughout this story. In this shot, the shift to the skybox and lighting, as well as changing where they are sitting relative to the fence, were decisions I made on purpose.

Speaking of changes done on purpose, Y'zel-the-character's hair goes white as he once again overdoes it. We do recurring themes here, sir.

Rating SEVENTEEN's "MAESTRO" Stage Outfits (mainly Junhui & Jeonghan)

This is something completely random that I had saved as a draft for a while, but finally decided to post since "MAESTRO" promotions have officially ended. Originally, I only wrote my "review" for Junhui (my bias since PRE-debut), but then my YouTube feed got flooded with people posting about Jeonghan, so I added him in too (because for sure he'll go "inactive" by the end of the year—everybody please be nice). I keep all the stage performances in chronological order because it's easier than sorting from most to least favorite. I cannot rate all 13 members individually due to time/energy constraints @_@ (I also made the voluntary decision to take a lot of screenshots.)

M! Countdown 2024-05-02: This outfit set is the same one from the 1st part of the MV (futuristic/sci-fi theme with mostly grayscale colors). I skipped the intro part & went straight to the start of the performance. Overall, everyone looked great for the first comeback stage. This is Joshua's only time wearing full uniform bangs (with a slight perm?) that made him look completely different compared to the other stage styles.

Jeonghan: This may sound irrelevant, but I was SO GLAD to see that his black jacket had a hood on it (even though there's no need to wear it). Since he's not really in the 1st part of the MV, this outfit probably had (at most) only 10 seconds of screen time combined. Also—during Jeonghan's final line where he turns to the side, I thought he looked like Leeteuk for a second @_@ (don't ask).

Music Bank 2024-05-03: This outsit set is the same one from the 2nd part of the MV (classic/elegant theme with mostly black & burgundy colors). This is one of the better sets! The only weird thing was that Wonwoo's ELECTRIC BLUE hand mic matched the stage lights, while the other hand mics were black (matches the outfits & black hair) or gold (matches blond hair).

Junhui: I'm so happy that he didn't wear the hat (from the MV) onstage because now you get to see his amazing hair & bangs! He totally looks like a (music) student at a prestigious European school during lunch break (because coats/jackets are optional when class isn't in session—don't ask how I know this).

Jeonghan: During the MV BTS video, he said that wearing this outfit + holding the conductor wand for his solo shots made him feel like he was in Harry Potter... which made me think of Professor Snape for no reason (probably because of his hair). Overall, that blended two-tone blazer & black rose brooch look amazing!

2024-05-04 Music Core: Not only did Josh & Vernon (aka American Line) wear shorts, but Seungkwan & Dino (aka maknae line minus Vernon & his shorts) wore baseball caps O_O (pretty hilarious though). This new all-white stage outfit set was a hit-or-miss depending on the individual, especially since some guys had short blazers. Honestly, I like DK's outfit the most because he's the only one wearing a knee-length long blazer. Wonwoo's outfit was my least favorite because his shirt had so many layers of loose fabric that were confusing to look at. I did get a good laugh out of seeing Vernon perform his 2 knee kicks (while wearing SHORTS) during his final line in the 2nd post-chorus.

Junhui: I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at, but his outfit overall is less distracting/confusing than Wonwoo's. I feel like something's missing, like maybe a blazer or vest. There are some pieces of long fabric extending from his waist, but I'm not sure if they're part of his shirt or pants (Music Core doesn't provide individual fancams).

Jeonghan: Same issue—I have no idea which garment is which. Some of the flying belts reminded me of a karate/taekwondo uniform @_@. He definitely deserved a longer blazer than what I could see. The good thing is that Music Core captured SC & Jeonghan's side performances during Seungkwan's lines during both stages.

2024-05-05 Inkigayo: This outsit set is the same one from the 3rd part of the MV (classic/distinguished theme again but now with mostly black & white colors). Watching this video made me realize how many more guys are wearing SHORTS &/or baseball caps for this stage. DK looks like a well-educated pirate here (yeah that made no sense). This is Joshua's BEST stage outfit with that fancy business professional attire.

Junhui: It looks like his hair is slightly permed & now a bit denser (i.e. almost no forehead visible). This outfit makes him look like a newspaper boy aspiring to become a (classical) musician. His hairstyle isn't too bad, but I would definitely make that hanging piece of fabric from his shirt shorter or tucked in better (kind of distracting when it sways during his dance parts).

Jeonghan: I have no idea what the stylists did to his hair (another perm?), but it was distracting. His outfit looks great up front, but I wish that the black garment stretched across & covered his entire back (it currently has a halter neck design). Anyway, I'll move on. ._.

M! Countdown 2024-05-09: This week's SHINE STAGE is a replay of last week's episode from 2024-05-02 (which is why I didn't bother including the URL), but now you have Jeonghan as the YouTube thumbnail instead of Hoshi! XD

Music Bank 2024-05-10: THIS IS MY FAVORITE STAGE WITH THE BEST OUTFITS EVER! Since I made fun of DK looking like a fancy pirate earlier, his outfit here makes him look like a merchant from overseas (same concept). Wonwoo also looks great with TWO (or more) sleeveless garments, & since everyone is wearing black + white without any red, his ELECTRIC BLUE hand mic doesn't out of feel place.

Junhui: Now that he's wearing a (sparkly) black jacket/blazer with a white shirt, white tie, & black pants (I call it "standard attire"), he definitely looks like the head prefect at prestigious European (music) school & about to head for his next class. Even though this outfit isn't as fancy/flashy as some previous ones, he looks especially elegant here. His hair is also back to normal! You can part of his forehead again where his bangs split!

Jeonghan: I'll never get tired of complimenting his hime-cut & ponytail that was short-lived (because he removed the hair tie during the encore). For me, it's a throwback to "Super" promotions when Jeonghan's hair was also long enough to tie up with complementary hair pins (I could go on about traditional East Asian aesthetics, but I won't). This asymmetrical black-white outfit had black ruffles near the collar that combined with the black line + leaf down his shirt leaf to form a flower. I would've made the left leather glove less bulky near the elbow (he also removed that during the encore) & extended the black fabric part on the back side (the diagonal split was a bit weird). Overall, Jeonghan looks like he could be a music teacher in Black Butler's Public School Arc (if you've watched Episode 6 where Sebastian was conducting the music students, then it'll make more sense).

2024-05-11 Music Core: I have mostly complaints about this one, starting with the (sky) blue denim jeans that I thought were out of place. It would've been better if the pants were made of cotton or wool instead of denim (the same color is fine). Just look at Josh! Business blazer/shirt with denim jeans? UNACCEPTABLE! >:V However, the skinny denim jeans work well for Junhui, Wonwoo, & Minghao because they're wearing long-sleeve shirts/sweaters with knee-high boots. Some of the guys wore see-through shirts (I didn't know until I read the comments), which are not my cup of tea & overall made the outfits even weirder.

Junhui: His outfit is a lot better than some of the others' outfits, but you can't really see his arm movements because he's wearing a black sweater without any white or lighter colors to contrast against (the background is also dark). Not bad, though.

Jeonghan: He's one of the few guys who wore a see-through shirt, which means I don't want to say any more than I need to about his overall OOTD. I like the white blazer & little black silk scarf, though.

2024-05-12 Inkigayo: This stage's outfit set is like a combined remake of some previous stage outfits, & I feel like this was a hit-or-miss again depending on the individual. I don't know & don't want to know why the stylists gave Woozi a cropped blazer. Mingyu looks cool in black-gray camouflage, though! DK looks like he has to attend basketball practice later O_O. Yeah... enough said.

Junhui: The gray pants were OK, but the shirt was something else. It looks like the sleeves are see-through while the torso is not(?). I don't really have anything more to say.

Jeonghan: No complaints! Black blazer + black shirt + black pants = perfect!

2024-05-16 M Countdown: Back to classy black/gray & white outfits for their goodbye stage! ("Goodbye" wasn't official, but the guys were back on tour the next weekend, & they haven't been on any of the live shows since.) This is another hit-or-miss because some of the guys had short blazers (again T^T). I have no idea what's happening with Wonwoo's sleeves, & Hoshi's blazer has a random piece of gray fabric diagonal across his chest. Yeah... I have a headache.

Junhui: Looking back, I think this is his first & only stage where he wore a blazer with lapels (the jacket from 2024-05-10 isn't considered a blazer). It looks like there are pieces of long fabric extending from his waist again. This is definitely one of his fancier stage outfits.

Jeonghan: Blazer & shirt look great, but I felt my eyes burning when I saw his asymmetrical gray-black pants (somebody get me out of here). I'll just leave it at that @_@.

MTV Fresh Out Live: This outfit set is fancy & also one of the better ones overall! Lots of black, white, & glitter! Everyone is literally sparkling! I wish the guys wore this set on at least one of the South Korean music show stages.

Junhui: I think only his shirt is sparkling, which is fine because most of his centered dance scenes have more arm movements than leg movements (so the sparkles move with his arms/torso).

Jeonghan = No complaints again! Black blazer + off-white shirt + off-shite silk scarf + black pants = perfect again! (the only thing glossy is his right leather glove)

"it's Live" Band LIVE Concert: This venue is super casual, so everyone's just wearing regular clothes. If anything, the guys could probably wear their current outfits to perform "Left & Right". Junhui's blazer has some logo on the left side that made me think of a prestigious school's uniform (clearly a recurring theme now), & seeing Jeonghan wear navy blue pinstripe is rather refreshing.

I Like Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition So Far

Some random Outer Worlds version comparisons. Both screenshots taken on the Xbox Series S, just to show that even the weakest of the new consoles still displays a big improvement. The PS5 version does look better, with additional rendering resolution and shadow detail over the lil' Xbox.

I hope I can format these right. The old 2019 screenshots are on the left, followed by the new ones.

All of the lighting and material work is dramatically upgraded and changed, as you can see from these barrels in an early room. The lighting here is now more dramatic and realistic, and the barrels have a proper material sheen to them that reflects the surroundings. The old scene looks bright, but kind of bland by comparison. This sort of change echoes across every interior in the game.

Again, here is a comparison of the cargo hold in the Unreliable. The new version of the game is darker and moodier in these interiors, and I really like it. It more accurately reflects the amount of light that would actually be in these spaces, and I think the newly enhanced and overhauled colors still retain the whimsy of the original game even with this more intense lighting.

Every character face in the game has been reworked with new skin and texture detail. This is the first guy you meet, and it's much more apparent with later characters that I'll show in upcoming posts. Particularly the older characters. The detail around armor is improved. The character faces have more polygons in them but still look pretty good rigged up to the old animation.

In the original game, the characters all had the same magical three point lighting that would pop on as soon as you started into a dialog. In the new version the lighting on characters more accurately reflects the places they're actually located in.

Exterior lighting is completely redone just like the interiors, and is in general more colorful, vibrant, and accurate to sun placement. The volumetric cloud system is cranked up more than on older consoles, providing more clouds at a higher resolution. There's also a ton more "stuff" outside everywhere with lots of additional foliage, ground cover, and other new bits. This makes locating dead enemies to loot a little harder than it already was in the older version, but I think the additional stuff is nice-looking.

This extra exterior fluff and the general lighting overhaul are probably why this is running slower when the two versions are compared on the same PC. Adding more effects to a game makes it run slower. Who would have ever guessed that?

I'm really enjoying this so far and I'll probably do a short follow-up post just to show how much wrinklier and baggier the older characters now look.

This is a great version of this game, but it's not a mind-blowing new next gen spectacle. It's better than if they had just bumped the resolution and effects up, with plenty of new assets and lighting work, but nowhere near a full remake. Even on Series S, you'll see a big difference if you make the upgrade.

On PS5 the shadowing is more detailed and plentiful, and the rendering resolution is much higher. It also has some really cool trigger/haptic effects on the DualSense.

When I finish the game, I'll probably write a full review on Medium. It'll likely be positive. I've seen complaints about stuttering in the 60FPS mode, but these were all taken in the 30FPS mode for max graphics goodness. This game was never a flawless performer in the realm of stutters before so expecting perfection from a version with more stuff crammed in is...surprising, but hey I'm just me and I only have my thoughts.

[Magi reread; special edition] Episode 1: Aladdin and Alibaba [Part 1]

Lmao, yeah. Ofc I'm also rewatching it. Btw, you'll proobably see some Polish subtitles, sorry in advance. Usually, if I cut some pic, it's because I tried to cut out the subs.

Starting off strong with Aladdin screaming his throat dry (I feel that rn, but also, man, that's some good screaming, I give it to the VA, you can really feel how he's seriously losing it here).

Also, I didn't remember the animation being this pretty. Like, my mind is still on that scene with Ja'far attacking Cassim, and the dart being a bit too slow, which made it look kinda awkward ngl. But, well, first three episodes tend to look best.

But also, in the manga it was less breakdown-y. I actually like how the anime shows more desperation in Aladdin than the manga does, in which he's pretty chill about it all (unless we're shown him losing it in some later flashback, in which case I don't remember.).

Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE Magi OST? Well, I'm saying it now.

I like that we don't find out what's Aladdin's wish until later. But also, you know what? That was such a good way to cut it! Ugo tells him he'll grant his wish, and Aladdin repeats "My wish...?", and is IMMEDIATELY cut by V.I.P.'s "All my wishes are finally within my reach". Say what you want abt the anime adaptation, but that was an awesome choice here.

I'm kinda skipping the OP, I'll probably go about it in another post.

Overall, there's a bit more interactions with some random people. You get the general impression that Alibaba is pretty well-liked here.

Also, something I meant to point out - I know it's not some ground-breaking discovery, but in the anime you very much get the feel that Alibaba is the protagonist instead of Aladdin, and, yeah. You very much do. Aladdin might've got the first scene, but for some reason you do feel like Alibaba's already got more focus. Though that might be because we learn more about him faster. In the manga Aladdin had an entire chapter to be established as a character first, but here we've got that one (1) scene, and then we have Alibaba working, interacting with others (they comment of how hard he's working), chatting about Budel, and him having a "I'm working to reach my goal" moment, like, that's a lot of information compared to what Aladdin's got. Aladdin meanwhile has only got that breakdown scene, which, honestly, tells us very little about him. Just that he's ectremely desperate to get out, so he was probably stuck there for a long time. Like, it does kind of play well to Aladdin's general mysteriousness, but also makes Alibaba steal the spotlight a bit. Which will be a bit of a trend for at least the first few episodes.

So, a small thing is that Alibaba comes off as a bit more confident here, at least regarding the Dungeon thing. In the manga it looks more like him daydreaming a bit, while here he's like >:/ I'm serious.

In the manga in that scene you're watching Aladdin freak out behind Alibaba, whereas here you can actually see Alibaba's expression a bit (not on this photo, sorry), and you can't really see Aladdin's face at all.

Ima put my random thoughts about SRV in here! It probably won't make much sense but wtv sdfsg

again I haven't placed the last building or conquered the whole map yet, as context, but i did finish the main story aside from that.

So ima start of with thoughts while disregarding how the bugs affected the experience!

Overall, I had a good time! I really enjoyed it. I love the new crew. I loved the focus on friendship. I'd say the story overall is nothing really special though, which I don't think is necesserily a bad thing. Sometimes a chill story packaged in a fun game is good ya know.

I loved finding out bits and pieces about our friends through dialogue, I think that was great, and I really liked that it felt like a solid friend group. Modern Yuri (as I like to colloqually call him lmao) is so much more mellow from having a good support system early on lol. But he's still got some Classic Yuri in him.

The rival gangs I think that thematically, visually, their music and stuff, they were great. I liked them a lot, they had good contrast, their music when you fight them rules. I do think that they were a little underused in the actual story though so they don't quite leave the impact that say, the Syndicate did. The threat they posed felt more theorical than anything you actually see. Again not the worst thing, but I feel like they could've used a bit more time to be more present. (I did like how the Panteros stuff ended because it tied in with other things later though!). Like I think in particular that the collective could have been used a lot more.

That said I did play with looong months-long break for the first quarter of the game so idk how that affected my impression. And the last few missions I think were really, really cool, I really liked them! But I felt like the middle parts after a certain point weren't quite as memorable.

But I don't think it was bad! And the game isn't quite over yet, so I'm looking forward to what's to come.

Also I did like how narratively the game tries to give you a nice fantasy release from a lot of real life issues. I'm sure many people at Volition had to face these frustrations in their lives and it felt like. relatable yknow.

Now though.....so I work in game QA, going on my 7th year, and the game released in....really an unnacceptable state, which was really a bummer and really harmed it. I don't blame the devs. Devs want to give us good games. But they don't control release dates.

and they did not control covid. I know a lot people see covid as an "excuse" to fuck up games but trust me as someone who was working in the industry through it all, it absolutely messed up a *lot* of stuff that you may never know about. My setup from home is still not ideal. And thats not even getting into employee burnout but anyway-

I've had crashes to desktop, blockers in missions (regularly), broken multiplayer (tho i havent had a chance to test it again after patches) needing full game restarts for a variety of reasons (clothes broken, face broken, world stopped populating, quest blocked...) the clothes system still breaks for me after so many months after release (thought its a lot better. i dont fear the stores as much anymore lol). I don't know if it's a quirk of the PC version, but it would have been so much more of a good experience if they had had the time to polish the game more before release. Lots of gamers don't have much patience for this kinda shit, and it's a shame for a game that has a lot of love put into it.

But they're still patching the game, and the QOL changes that they keep adding are really good. The game is a lot more stable for me too so I will definitely keep playing, and I'm hoping that my mental state will allow me to make some fun content from it. I'm still kinda hoping for a steam release sometime so I might get to replay the story again if that happens. Because taking screenshots on epic is a goddamn pain.

Hi there!

Yes, I'm still alive lol, it's just that 85% of my social media time I currently spend it on Twitter (I refuse to call it how Elmo Muskrat wants the site to be called lol), and 15% I spend it on Bluesky (which, by the way, if you wanna find me there, I'm Eirenare too there lol).

I'm still very veeeeeery much in my Reylo brainrot haha, so yeah, you might see me posting or reblogging every now and then some of it, although I've been as well into some other stuff lately (Elden Ring for example), so you might see me posting about that too, so just a heads up there about it (and don't worry, everything I post here, regardless of what it is, as usual it'll have its tags and spoiler warnings, a "read more" if need be, etc).

My energy's been specially low for the past months though to be honest, so I can't guarantee I'll be very active around here (except for private messages, I'll be checking these every little time), just that every now and then I'll come here and post or reblog some stuff, probably Reylo and other things Star Wars or series/movies, life updates too, maybe will share in a bit of my Elden Ring brainrot and theories as its DLC approaches and I get more and more excited.

Anyways, here's some random life update stuff and anecdotes that I wanted to say before I log off for the night here:

I fell into the Kalluzeb (Kallus x Zeb, from Star Wars Rebels) rabbithole some time ago and it was, and is, neat, I love them so much

earlier today I had churros and hot chocolate as desert at lunch time and I was in cloud nine all the while I chomped on them

apparently my brain won't cease to come up with new Reylo AUs which is amazing and so much fun but also if I ever showed you guys screenshots of my Google Docs you might just faint because there are just so many things there between WIPs I'm currently working on that are already on Ao3, future things to go on Ao3, vague WIPs, AU ideas... and my energy is running so low and I'm working on various Ao3 WIPs so yeah lol I don't think I'll ever write even half of the fics I noted down

I watched Barbie at the cinema and it became one of my new comfort movies and one of my fave movies of all time

somehow I'm not as bad as I thought I'd be at Elden Ring even though I'm clumsy, a scaredycat and my tunnel vision goes lvl 100 when I'm playing videogames which usually means "good luck remembering to look at your stamina bar and using key items", so seeing myself not get too stuck on bosses was unexpected and neat (in fact, funnily enough: somehow this game even makes my anxiety lower at times and it barely increases it at all even when I'm fighting bosses, go figure lol)

I had the chance to buy Final Fantasy XVI at a much cheaper price than release price but because at that site I didn't see any warning that it was temporary, by the time I went to buy it, it had risen price again so now I'm awaiting once again for both better prices and for my wallet to recover

my brother bought a PS5 back in spring and a copy of Star Wars Jedi Survivor and, since we live in the same house, I did play that game and it was amazing asdfgffdgfjfb there were only a very few things I didn't like that much but holy shit was it good, some stuff even felt tailor-made for me in ways I wasn't expecting but that I enjoyed very much (and also the tears, the rivers of tears I shed on certain scenes lol) and now I'm super hyped for the 3rd whenever it is that it'll happen

the official Star Wars accounts at Twitter have been posting quite a bit about Reylo and the sequels and Ben for the past days (and I gotta say, the account from Spain even added some extra Reylo flavor in some tweets that other accounts didn't which is curious) and I'm clowning kinda hard, hoping that DLF finally realized most of the people actually like a lot Reylo (or don't mind it) and the ST, and hoping (always hoping, always dreading to hope too much, but hoping anyways) that we'll get Rey and Ben reunited in her movie

Anyways x2, enough anecdotes and thoughts for the night, see you around lovely people~! <3 Hopefully soon lol, but if not... *looks at 2024 fast approaching* if not, then I'll 100% be around to gossip and scream for when the Rey movie begins production and talks begin and all that stuff, lol.

I adore the film Mona Lisa Smile, and Fried Green Tomatoes, as well as many others. I sometimes post screenshot collections & gifs for things i’m watching & re-watching under the #films i like tag if you’re into that ☺️

Aesthetic: this is also hard. i like to decorate home with nature items, that looks pretty cottagecore. but i am a huge fan of many aesthetics.

Favorite Author: tolkein, simone de beauvoir, charlotte perkins gilman, lots of feminist authors actually, the stoics, poetry (pablo neruda is my favorite, a lovely way with words, see his poem till then my windows ache) i don’t read a lot because i have adhd and it’s really hard for me, poetry is easier.

Random Fun Fact: i make really good banana bread! i think the secret is two things: not adding all the sugar your recipe calls for. leave a little of it out, and replacing some of it with brown sugar.

Moar Fallout!

Howdy folks!

Welcome to May! Or the final day of April if you’re in the other part of the world. You know, the one other part. My birthday is now 57 days away… just saying.

So if you read last weeks post, you know I have been playing a lot of Fallout 4 lately - and I mean a lot a lot. This past week it has been the only thing I’ve played, to be honest, but I’m having a ton of fun. I spent a good bunch of time just venturing to all the locations that had been added to my map but I had not visited yet, and doing the repeatable quests where it’s like “Go to X place, kill a bunch of X thing, come back,” because that also sometimes reveals new locations. But the last few days, the big thing I have been doing is collecting a bunch of junk from all over the map, and in several cases, just buying screws and gears and stuff in bulk from the vendors in Diamond City and Goodneighbor, and carting it all back to my main settlement Sanctuary and building many many Giddyup Buttercups.

It started out small (as pictured above), when I went to a manufacturing plant that was littered with Buttercup parts and a few intact ones. But then when I came across another, much larger manufacturing plant filled with these little guys, and then remembered I can make these things my myself, it started to get a little out of hand…

…and then even more out of hand…

…and now I am making it my mission to see how many of these I can place until the game gets sick. This is why I love this game - there’s so much freedom to create here. Or… whatever this is, anyway.

So far there are about twenty of them placed in central Sanctuary, but last time I checked I had about fifty in storage waiting for what I am tentatively calling ‘The Horsening’. My plan is to first place one or two in random places around the outskirts of the town, and then just keep adding more and more until either I reach the point where there is just a sea of yellow, or the game stops cooperating. That reminds me, I need to make a notie of a good save point in case I break the game entirely and I need to start over.

Oh! And I have also been slowly building a museum and filling it with unique weapons and outfits that I find out in the Commonwealth, along with a ton of power armour sets as well. I’ll share some screenshots of all that at some point, once I have a museum layout and design I am really happy with.

One final thing I have to talk about before I let you go: I am thinking of doing some regular game streams! On like, regular days and times! I haven’t settled on a schedule yet, but I’ll be sure to let y’all know when I have. I expect to have that sorted out by middle of the week, and I’ll send out a little update, probably through the ‘notes’ feature on Substack that I have definitely figured out how to use already… or have I? In the mean time, follow me on Twitch!
