Me, episode 1: Oh, a relatable protag! And a relatable female protag, at that. Sweet! That never happens.
Me, a few episodes in: Wait, the protag really is going to be my character? The one I identify with the most? Seriously? It's not going to be a strange, at least somewhat sinister, seemingly hostile male side character? It's gonna be a female character and the protagonist? That's insane, that literally never happens... what's the catch??
Me, more than halfway through the season: ... huh, I guess Maomao really is it. Okay, then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Me to myself, after episodes 22/23:
#i let my guard down#i should have known#like really i should know better by now lmao#that's probably the best depiction of prosopagnosia i've seen in fiction ngl#also luo//men's suggestion re: using other attributes to tell people apart??#A++ approach what a guy#mine isn't nearly as severe but i totally use footsteps/gait/mannerisms as my primary means of distinguishing people#the very few people i care about i can definitely recognize by facial features#and people i see frequently; though i do have trouble recognizing them if they appear in a context i'm not used to#like. if i were to see one of my sword classmates at my workplace for instance i would have trouble recognizing them#but anyone else? forget it#the most difficult part of working veterinary front desk was returning animals to their owners#bc even though i could have /just/ spoken with the owners like. ten minutes ago#i couldn't tell you which animal belonged to which owner#faces just don't register with me#dogs were easier in that i'd just let them lead me to their owners#but if it was a cat in a carrier i was fucked lmaooo#it's why if there was another receptionist working i'd let them handle any hand offs XDD#i don't remember most of my childhood but i have some very vivid impressions of moments like#my mother asking me to go give a cash tip to the hairdresser who did her hair and me being unable to pick who it was out#of everyone that was working even though i'd been there with them for two plus hours.#or like. taking the school bus home and being unable to recognize my bus monitor and so getting on the wrong bus#and also getting ridiculed about this by my parents lol. ah good times.#on the other hand i can easily recognize a dog i've met once or twice even years later. and remember their name.#i think it all mostly comes down to disinterest for me. i've tried to change this but it's just how i am#so. he's very relatable. painfully so#also the pragmatism and rationality and hyperfixating on things.#i've never hyperfixated on another person tho and i am so grateful for that every single day#i know in my bones it would be an absolute disaster XD#withoutwords

idk if it's because my mum worked in a tv magazine or what but all the media wars and backstabbing and stuff happening behind the cameras is so so interesting to me
#just saw what happened yesterday in la revuelta ojalá se muera el enano pelirrojo#so for non-spaniards here's a crash course on the situation (i could do a post about media groups in spain cause it's a lot)#there's this one late night show that's been on air for about 15 years called el hormiguero#it started fine (i used to watch it with my family when it started)#but soon there were some issues that people were seeing#especially concerning the presenter (who's also the head ofthe show) pablo motos#and his attitude with female guests he'd interview#basically being very weird and gross around them#apart from that in the last year he started to get very political in the show#he invited right and far right leaders while refusing to do so with the left wing#started making monologues at the beginning of each show critizising stuff the left had done or said#and finally included a debate segment in the show in which he invited liked-minded people to discuss politics#this has directly affected his audience. my dad is a fan of el hormoguero and i've seen him turn more right wing every year#so. last summer RTVE (national broadcast company) announced they were gonna do a late night show presented by david broncano#it's hard to describe everything here but basically broncano already had a late show called la resistencia in a streaming platform#it has always been very popular with young people and it is quite left wing#the new program made by RTVE was called la revuelta. it is exactly the same as la resistencia#before it started airing people were sceptic that broncano would be able to defeat motos' hegemony#BUT. ever since it started aiting in september it has consistently been getting more audience than el hormiguero#who would've known people were tired of the redhead bastard#anyways. apart from this. different celebrities on ppdcasts have been saying that in order to promote their product they are forced to go#to el hormiguero even of they didn't want to#there's also rumours of pablo motos blackmailing people (mostly comedians) who make fun of him#and now to what happened last night. i don't watch tv so i just saw it on twitter#broncano opened the show saying that they were sorty but they had no guest tonight#they had this one person but 30 minutes before shooting the people from el hormiguero had called him#he was originally going to go both to la revuelta and el hormiguero#but the guys from el hormiguero called him to tell him that if he went to la revuelta he couldn't go to el hormiguero#el hormiguero is bigger than la revuelta so. he had to cancel#broncano went on to say this had happened before and that's why he was talking about it

On the topic of hormones, I love trans men, transmasculine people, abinary, multigender people, or whomever else who takes estrogen and trans women, transfeminine, abinary, multigender people, or whomever else who takes testosterone.
There is no "right" way to transition. You don't have to be a perfectly binary, gender conforming trans person in order to take hormones. We all have different levels of estrogen and testosterone, and that means women and nonbinary people don't have to have estrogen-dominant systems and men and nonbinary people don't have to have testosterone-dominant systems. Do what sparks joy and if it's shit, hit the bricks!
#trans#transgender#lgbt#lgbtq#ftm#mtf#nonbinary#i think people who take 'nonconforming' hormones for their gender are so cool 👍#and it's made me so much more comfortable in my own relationship with hormones and my body and how my identity plays into it#because my sense of self is nuanced but i was always under pressure to think 'i'm a man so i can ONLY have testosterone in my system'#and that's shitty because at that point i couldn't transition medically and i felt like less of a man#but the people who are so commited to breaking gender apart with their teeth have made me so much more comfortable#i wish somebody could have been there to tell me my hormones didn't dictate my entire sense of if i'm a 'real man' though#also this isn't an attack on trans men/masc people taking testosterone and the inverse for estrogen#sometimes i see people reading way too into these posts and assuming that the OP is saying they hate 'conforming' trans people#(i'm a trans man* who is transitioning 'conformingly' if anybody is thinking the tags previously are true)#(also i am very content being a trans man who takes testosterone so my gender doesn't feel threatened when a trans man takes E y'know?)#(you don't have to understand it but you DO have to treat them like human beings who have bodily autonomy)

Funniest thing in this game is how there's a few times where characters will come across Chipp while he's brainwashed and be able to pick up on it super fast because he's not acting like himself
... But every time a character comes across Robo-Kys causing problems, who barely act like Ky and *definitely* don't look like him, everyone's first response is just "Ky Kiske is such an asshole! I need to beat him to death."
#my theory (read?) on why people couldn't tell them apart is still holding up despite it all I see!#also side note the way Chipps VA and writers chose to portray Chipp acting brainwashed is so good-#the obvious thing to do would be to sound super robotic or sluggish#but no! he's just really polite!!#brainwashed Chipp is just so soft spoken and pleasant that other characters are able to just go “SOMETHINGS WRONG#yappin'

Are you a fan of any of the boygenius songs? I thought True Blue and Satanist were fun!
i gave the album another listen when i got this message to see if my opinion could be updated on them but honestly? not really. i enjoy $20 at the beginning of the song, the guitar melody is super fun but then it just devolves into noise and screaming which just really isn't my vibe at all. i kinda like not strong enough because it's a bit more upbeat. and then the rest of the album is super dreary and depressing and i find it a little unpleasant.
#lucy and phoebe's voice are also just not my thing#like this whole album is such a downer (for me) and i truly don't see the vision#i also just. don't know if i vibe with the structure of the songs#how some of them are just stream of consciousness wordy verses with no consistent melody#it all just blends into one miserable smoothie where i couldn't tell most songs apart

however, we have known since the very first scenes that sailom never stops thinking. mathematics and numbers are all he knows and they're always present for him. and at this point kang knows about his situation too. so that leads him to ask: "can you do it for me?". i haven't stopped being poor just because we spent the last week together. you know about my debt(s). so can you study for me? can you help me like i know you want to (because, as you said, we're "friends" now)? can you do me a favor, and will you let me keep on tutoring you? can we keep doing this, for our sake? will you let this benefit and comfort us both?

That event I helped organize a week and a half ago now? I'm wrapping some things up, sending out the rewards, and three days ago a colleague and me agreed that she is dropping the last ones off later today. So, I went ahead and sent the info to the winners about pickup times! Starting from tomorrow morning!
Just now she sent me a message that she won't be able to bring the rewards today, and from reading between the lines I believe she decided to instead bring the gifts the organizers got so she and her friends can have a fun little time opening them. They see each other every day at college. She could have done that every day in the past week and a half, and she decided to change plans last minute and just ignore the winners today???
Like, lady??? What is in your head??? Just??? Aaaargh!!!??
#I made her bring them today anyways#I don't care anymore!#I kept doing things in other people's steads because they kept dropping the ball or being 'unable to make it cuz they're busy' and I'm done!#I've never met a group of people that wanted less to be here and work on things#and let me say it again#they all volunteered to do this! every single one of them!!! they said they have time#they chose what they want to handle/do#and then a week before the event three people abandoned the project because they were busy#(they did nothing for a month before)#and then two more just stopped doing their part of the job without telling anyone#and that job was the one all the rest of us were waiting on so we can do our bits#so I did that#then the other two girls had no time to do marketing materials#then this one that is being a fool today couldn't do her job and collect a part of the rewards so I did that#and I took over my friend's duties because two women from her job quit and she is covering their part while waiting for new trainees#also she is moving#because her landlord is tossing her out after he got greedy after breaking and renovating the apartment around her#so I have nothing against her taking a step back#but I'll start wringing necks to the rest of them soon!#jelly vents#vent#jelly angy#jelly more than angy rn

There's silverfish in this apartment so the only chance for my body to get some rest would be collapsing from exhaustion otherwise i will not sleep for a While
#how long does it take to get rid of them?#ages probably#and i have only one room (+ a tiny bathroom) so i cannot avoid them#they're in my bedroom therefore the bed isn't safe#god i hate it here#i had them in my first apartment too for a short time and i hoped to never experience this again#well#also the guy living here before me apparently has never cleaned the shower or the toilet in his lifetime#the shower is filthy and I've been cleaning it for 3 hours in total already#I'll have to scrub it everyday in order to get a chance to get rid of these years of dirt and limescale#(like scrub it for 30 minutes using cleaning supplies and all. not just clean it after showering like usually#which would have prevented this from happening in the first place if that guy had done this even just once a week)#also cannot fathom how my landlord accepted this bathroom to be left like this#there was literally still toilet paper in the toilet and there is dirt so bad i haven't gotten rid of it after scrubbing for hours#but yeah#the insects are the worst#i mean in korea i had actual bugs but there weren't as many and i think they couldn't climb the walls so i felt less#disgusted by my bed and everything i touch#(there was one in my bag and in the kitchen sink and in my blanket once and#I'm not exactly scared by them but actually disgusted#i guess this is what some people mean when they say they aren't scared of spiders but don't like them anyway#it's just gross and i don't want to see them)#and i will tell my landlord about it and ask if he can at least fix the bathroom silicom so maybe some of their hiding spots are gone#I'm just very tired of everything rn lol#still not using that extra time i have during the night to work for university so that's great#not getting anywhere#void screams

i just spent the whole day building a 4 story apartment complex in the sims 4 decorated for specific sonic characters,,but i dont own the for rent pack so i cant really do much with it,and i have no idea why i did all that
#i might share it in the morning i think its neat#maybe add more characters if they come to mind#but so far:#theres two for the chaotix and team dark obviously it wouldn't be complete without them stuck with the curse of money and roommate behaviour#theres also a surge and kit room that they dont pay rent for and is torn up and shit im actually kind of proud of it#especially with how i could probably go further if i had the werewolves game pack#but cats and dogs shockingly has my back with a bunch of boxes and newspaper rugs#i also have sonic and tails place even tho they probably have real houses to stay in but i decorated sonics room so weirdly i had to keep it#also amy has a place thats so customised from the apartment defaults to look cute because she just would she'd love diy interior design#and she does not tell the landlord about it she just goes for it no one can stop her with a paint can of pink#also mephiles and iblis room on the top floor couldn't help myself and they have a bassinet and crib in there because they *vine boom sou#the last two spaces are for random sims if wanted but one has pet stuff + kids room already in there#the other has a little office and art easel and computer desk
