So if you're like me and have a Google account you tie to all the stuff on your phone (like the back up email, the Google photos account, your phones main email account, ect.) then like me, you may have gotten a notification saying
"Out of storage You're unable to back up photos, save to Drive, and send and receive emails with Gmail"
Which first of all is is insane since you can ONLY store up to 15 Gigabyte's on one account. But I've had this account since like 2016, and I don't want to delete all of the photos since they don't exist anywhere else. so I'm stuck not being able to transfer photos but also not wanting to delete them.
BUT I found out yesterday that there's a feature with your Google account called Google Takeout. Which allows you to select everything you want, (wether its photos, documents, Emails, contacts, site passwords, ect.) Automatically sorted into folders by year and transfer it to a different account through either A .zip file or a file of 1, 2, 4, 10, 20 gigabites!
The process can take a few hours, or a few days depending on how much you're transferring.
But just transferring all my photos like that in .zip files that I can turn into regular folders with all the photos in folders is such a lifesaver for me. It took around 5 or 6 hours for it to transfer all my 15 gigs of photos in my storage, to 11 .zip files that I could download.
But it overall it's a great thing to use if you have a fuck ton of photos in your Google photos and want to transfer them onto a laptop or flashdrive. Didn't even know this existed untill yesterday as well!

Lockdown Diary Part 10
A personal account during the lockdown in the UK due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
23/03/2020 8:30pm Boris Johnson, UK Prime Minister, gives a live address to the nation to, effectively, put the country on lockdown to stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus strain, Covid-19.
Many of us have been self-isolating for days but this latest development within the UK in reaction to the pandemic feels very serious and very scary. I decided to keep a simple diary and where better but online. Day 271: Work was dominated by Qfiniti again, including a meeting with Jon and staff from the States, where I found my self taking control to get the next steps in process (and then, Dave Stewart, the SCCM engineer fucked off and put an OOO message on Teams telling me he’s off until Tuesday (it’s Thursday)...and I am off on Monday!) But, I have to say this project does float my boat. Got a text message and then a call from PCH for another laser eye appt this coming Monday at 12.30pm. I mentioned to the lady that phoned that I will have to square it with work (I won’t, but she doesn’t know that) as I can’t afford to lose my job - it just seems the hospital, while under pressue with the admin and the clinic availability - I get it! - just aren’t seeing the issues for the patients. Plus, Peterborough has been declared a Tier 3 from Sunday under the new lockdown scheme, the highest tier. Great...I really want to travel to a highly infected area! managed to find an online booze shop that does Gordon’s and Famous Grouse and will deliver beforee Chrimbo, so I’ve placed the order for dad and Rita’s gift. I spoke with Dad today, he hasn’t heard about his vaccination yet which is a surprise (he’s in the first draft being over 80)
Day 272: Typing on day 273. Work was that manic shit at the end of the dya when I’ve got time off. I am only off on Moday but still had to tie up loose ends, complictaed further by Jon being off next week and Sueanne off this week and the Qfiniti project! In the evening I only mamaged three beers. I ate too much. Plus my sugars were all over the place and way too high! I ordered a torch a couple of days ago (£17), it arrived today. It takes rechargeable batteries or 3 AAAs. Apparently, to get the best performance (i.e. brightness) you need the rechargeable batteries in it, so i charged ‘em. Fucking hell, I’m glad I did - it’s brighter than the sun. It opens up my late walks in winter, for sure.
Day 273: While it was a very late (but sober) night yesterday (gone 4am before lights out) I was up before midday. Usual walking etc. plus gave the bathroom a clean (albeit with wipes, but I did mop the floor - and used the water to also mop the kitchen). Now I am about to stick a pizza in the oven, plus wedges (to have with microwaveable chip shop curry sauce) and watch This Is 40 which is coincidentally on telly tonight - the coincidence being clips of it are on TikTok a lot right now. I am on my second beer and am going to have a smoke right now as well. Lastly for this entry, I have been using my AudioPro speaker today, it pisses me off it’s not WiFi capable but, thru Bt, it does sound fucking good - revisiting James works very well to demonstrate the speaker’s prowess.
Day 274: I have another Paypal a/c. I have been getting emails to my standard gmail account from Paypal saying they are going to charge me £9 for an inactive account which I have been largely ignoring since my paypal a/c has a specific email address. Anyway, I tried to log in, after a password reset and, hey presto, I do have another one, with £35 in it, having just been fleeced of £9 for the aforementioned inactivity, fuckers. It’s registered with the old Market Place address and phone. When I try to transfer the £35 to my card, it wants to confim it’s me by calling the phone, which I can’t amend. Oh, and you can’t contact Paypal direct. Fuck knows what to do! Other than that, usual Sunday, a tad more relaxed since I have tomorrow off, but not that much now I have an eye appointment in Tier 4 Peterborough (it’s been up’d from tier 3)! Up at 1.30 pm (I watched This is 40 and The Guvners last night with lots of beer), feeling worse for wear but, stair climb and a 6 miler acheived!
Day 275: I was at the hospital for 3 hours. The laser clinic didn’t start until 1.30pm so, why my appointment was at 12.20, not even the consultant could understand. 15 minutes of lasering - horrible but I am used to it. It took so long it pretty much fucked my day off up completely. I got a Christmas card from Karen, in the actual post, so, a mail shot. It’s depressing.
Day 276: Back to work and it’s definitely in wind down mode. I’ve decided to compile a list of things I have done this year. It will be on the postive side, such as all the steps I’ve walked and getting an article published about my photography, but it will also include randon facts like getting bitten by a dig twice and not having a haircut. I’ll get it done so I can post in at new year, hopefully be a little inspiring, a little silly and a lot of showing off!
Day 277: Work, again, was quiet. It’s fucking pissing down now, as I type at 21:50, and has been all day. It’s causing havoc and there’s flooding everywhere. I could walk down St. Peter’s Road tonight ‘cos of it (had to go up New Road, Springfield Road, down Latham Road). Soaked a lunhtime and tonight! With a new variant of Coronavirus, France stopped frieght crossing the border. That’s now been resolved but tyeh back log has/is affecting certain food stocks in the shops, of which, fresh veg might affect me for Christams dinner (I plan to do a chicken breast with stuffing, pigs in blankets, yorkshire pud and shed loads of veg. I’ll nip to Co-Op tomorrow morning and see what’s vaialble. It’s a half day at work ‘cos of Christmas Eve, so I can nip out somewhere in the car if need be, as ong as the flooding has subsided. Or I could just get shitfaced and have burgers and pizza.
Day 278: Christmas Eve. Sueanne let me finish at 11.00am so, very shortly thereafter, off for a walk I went; it turned out to be a stop/start affair - flooding as the Nene had burst its banks, ended up doing more of a circuit round town. Bumped into Andy Smith (and his son) and, after that, Ash and Denise. Ended up doing just under 11.5km in 2 and a half hours.Knackered! As I type, I have a chilli on the stove, beer on the go, all the veg and chicken breast bought with no shortages, as feared, for tomorrow’s lunch and looking forward to eating. getting drunk, smoking, listening to music, watching telly....all over the next two/three days.
Day 279: I don’t even remember going to bed last night. As a direct result I got out of bed at 2.30pm. I couldn’t even be bothered with Christmas dinner, let alone anything else like exercise. I’m just about to have chilli for dinner (it’s 8.10pm). Watch some telly then try an go to sleep before midnight. No booze! I did talk to dad earlier. Day 280: Typing on day 281. A better, more productive day. Up @11.00am exercise and walk as usual, although the walk was a different route due to flooding. In the evening I could hear ‘storm Bella’ raging, so windy! I cooked a christmas dinner of sorts, chicken breast with Thyme, all the veg, roasted spuds and parsnip, stuffing (a first for me, albeit co-op stuffing mix), Yorkshie and pigs in blankets. It was smashing! A few beers and The Hitman’s Bodyguard, alays a fun watch. A better day, as I say, but I am feeling particular deflated this Christmas. Day 281: Typing on day 282. I realised, about mid afternoon, that Monday (tomorrow) is a bank holiday so no work. It was a great realisation but, also, worrying that it dawned on my like I’m an old person! Nevertheless, a nice long walk - bumped into Baz & Kate and had a nice long chat, then El & Camila, Aaron and Eva for another, shorter chat. I also saw Denise & Ash along the way. Fog video called later in the evening for a chat too (he told me how he fell asleep at the dinner table, fuck he makes me laugh - unwittingly - when I need it most!) A regular social fest! A repeat of last night’s dinner and a few beers - it was a good day albeit I am in a proper low ebb.
Day 282: Up at midday after a 4am-er. A very long walk (1.75 hours) and a hodge podge dinner (remaining chilli, roasted spuds and peppers, steamed cauliflower and runner beans, grated cheese) - it’s nearly ready, I’ll type the review tomorrow. I realise that this is the first time in 21 Christmases that I have at least talked to K. Is that connected to my mood slump? I reckon so. So, as that fact dawned on me, I then considered, should it be the case next Christmas, it will not be the first in along time and, as such, more manageable....fuck knows how I manage to accentuate any little positive but, thank goodness I do. Day 283: Work was a sedate affair today, fuck all to do really. Sueanne is now follwing me on Insta...I shall invetsigate on how to exclude posts to individuals, methinks. Tea, last night, was fucking lovely. More of the same tonight-ish - currently I am roasting spuds, peppers, garlic, chillies, tomatoes - it’ll all go with left over pigs-in-blankets (5) and a burger. I’ll have bisto beef with mustard on it. I can’t wait! Day 284: Typing on day 285. That meal was fucking lush! Checked on the car todfay and it would not start. Something is draining the battery so I will have to give it a run every day until I can get Julian to sort it. So, I WhatsApp’d Karen to borrow the portable starter. She dropped it off for me. We had the briefest of chats at the doorstep, first time we’ve spoken in weeks. She mentioned my hair! Day 285: NYE. I have just got back from walking to Cottersock and back. I would not have been able to do so without my new torch! I finished and published my double letter quiz on FB, including to the Virtual Pub group and the Oundle Chatter. It’s had some good feedback, I’m rather proud of it. I am going to make chicken casserole now (with dumplings - a first for me, I even bought some flour), have some beers and get a bit stoned. Before that, I am going to finish off my list of things I’ve done this year, including steps wlaked and hours listening on Spotify. I am quite proud of that list too.
Day 286: I fucked the dumplings up, added too much water, so that didn’t happen but the chicken casserole was good, just about to finish it for tea tonight. I also had pizza last night and went to bed at 5am. I have had a lot of good feedback on my list of 2020 achievements. I proud of it. K sent a happy new WhatsApp last night, around 00.30.
Day 287: No booze last night, so I was up before the alarm today (about 10.00am) Two walks, one on my own, another with Fog with a couple of beers. I fucking loved it! Watching datrts (World champs semi finals - been texting Dan while the first one has been on). Going to watch The Aviator later...I’ve not seen it before which surprises me. Why it surprises me I do not know, since I know I haven’t seen it. How the fuck can I be surprised by a fact I’m completely aware of? Day 288: I didn’t watch The Aviator ‘cos Logan Luck was on at 11:55pm on ITV4. Great fildm...I can’t believe that I very nearly paid for it (rent from Sky or Amazon). A late one last night and quite pissed. Thinking about it, having afew beers with Fog in the afternoon made it quite a long sesh for me! Up at just gone midday today, nice long walk (Cotterstock) which was mde long by a painful right ankle - I must have turned or twiested slightly sometime. Still, it survived. Back to work tomorrow - Chrimbo and New Year all done and dusted for the 55th time in my life!
Day 289: First day back at work of 2021. Boris announces another full lockdown in England (there’s a new strain of Covid19 which is seeing huge numbers of infections every day, over 50,000 per day).
Day 290: Something is up with my right foot, the little toe pad. It’s bloody sore. If it gets any worse it’ll affect my walking and exercise. I phoned Anne Bennison to talk about it, she just wants me to go and see her which i donlt want to do if poss, pandemic and all that.
Day 291: Wearing my sandals instead of the M&S slippers and my foot/toepad is already feeling bteer. However, I did inspect my Merrell boots, just in case, and the sole on te right is really worn down, in just three months. I have sent a WhatsApp to CotswoldOutdoors, where I got them from....let’s see what they say! It’s all kicking off i  the US - pro Trump protestors have storm the Capitol Building, where congrees was being held. Only in ‘Merica.
Day 292: Busy at work with rolling out Qfiniti - all that project work was pretty much for fuck all since the SCCM package has to hand held. It’s feckin’ freezing today, below freezing, slippy af on my walks. I have been shopping tonight, £106 in Corby Tesco. That does include 8 cans of sapporo.
Day 293: The fracas at Capitol Hill on Wednesday left 5 dead, it looks like Trump will be impeached. He’s already said he’ll not attend Biden’s inauguration. In a fucking world gone mad, it’s another level of madness. It’s really cold -3℃ tonight, more of the same tomorrow. Makes for brisk walks. I’ve just had chicken balti pie and chips for tea. It was so nice that I burnt the roof of my fucking gob. I’m on the Sapporo and about to have a smoke then watch Jack Reacher. I’ve (kinda) earnt after the first 5 day week for a while.
Day 294: Well, last night saw another late one...5am by the time I :went to sleep. Up at 2pm today with no instention of any exercise or walking or housework or fuck all, really. But, I did my exercises and a 9 mile walk. While I walked I came across Banners, quick 15 min chat and listed to Stage by David Bowie. He’s all over the radio right now as it’s his death’s anniversary tomorrow and his birthday yesterday. It’s a fucking good live album. A few beers tonight, eating trash, watching FA Cup highlights then End of Watch later.  Posh played today (first time in a while due to Covid infections) drew away to (shitty) Lincoln 1-1. Good point as Posh were down to ten men after 67 mins for a second yellow for handball in the area. Lincoln missed the pen. Fucking funny. Chorley, the non leaguers who knocked Posh out in round 2 of the FA Cup, beat Derby in round 3 today (albeit derby fielded an academy side of 11 first timers due to Covid ) - a great day for them!
Day 295: Up at 2pm swearing blind I’d not walk or exercise (again!) but, of course I did. I’ve done over 25 miles this w/e! End of Watch was brilliant last night. Well worth a rewatch, so emotional. I am making butter chicken as I type. I’ve added extra onion, garlic and, of course, chillies. It’s the spiciest butter chicken I have ever tasted!
Day 296: One of those frustrating days at work when no problem of request I try to resolve goes without a hitch. After a 7km walk in the evening, took the car for a spin and cleaned the bathroom. Fucking knackered. It’s 11:30pm and I’m in bed typing this on the iPad! despite getting up so late, I feel knackered. 11pm bedtime for me, I reckon.
Day 297: Fucking busy at work, the States rolled out a new Okta trust policy and it caused mayhem. Meant my evening walk didn’t start ‘til gone 6pm. When I got back, clened the hall and stairs, made chilli (which I am about to have for tea (gone 10.15pm!) and showered. I’m, again, fucking knackered! Posh played Portsmouth in the EFL Trophy 3rd round at home. Won 5-1. Nice.
Day 298: Had an electrician rouind for the EICR cetrt. He was here until 2pm and it was a pain in the arse, having to work upstairs plus, with having to cut the electricity, all the smart devices lost their settings. And it was freezing up there.
Day 299: Work was impossibly infuriating. Not one pc remote session went to plan! It was pissing down a lunchtime during my walk but, I have to say, the cheap TargetDry coat copes fine in heavy rain for short periods. Everywhere is flooding again even though the rain turned to sleet. By my evening walk, it was dry but bloody cold. Then, when I got in I cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floor and the bathroom’s as well. I fucking done in! Chatted to dad today - same as ever!
Day 300: What a fucking work at week! I am so glad it’s Friday. To celebrate, I ordered new walking boots: Scarpas £121!

Today's quarantine adventure
In previous instalments, I complained that my estrogen supply was limited and that was a problem given the whole not being able to get a prescription from my doctor situation. Yesterday night I got an email from my health insurance provider that, as an exception during quarantine, doctors can email scripts and pharmacies will accept them.
So. I steeled myself for the task of communicating with another human being, sent an email to my endocrinologist asking for a new script, they emailed me one back, and I decided to Step Outside for the first time since quarantine started. There's a pharmacy half a block from my home, so it was not a long trip.
Upon waiting a little in a very well-spaced line, I told my pharmacist I had an emailed script and offered to WhatsApp him the image (conveniently, their number is written in various signs on the side of the building and I added them as contact while waiting in line). After doing obscure things out of sight for a while (we were outside the building, they'd set up a little window and desk thing for talking to customers), he told me they needed a printed version of the script. I told him I didn't have a printer (not entirely accurate. I have a printer that doesn't work, for reasons that I suspect are simply running out of ink, but either way I can't exactly go buy more when all non-essential services are closed). He explained that he'd tried to transfer the image from WhatsApp to his computer for printing, but he kept getting issues with Gmail*. I said I could just email him the script, he agreed, and a little bit later I now have estrogen.
Honestly the fact that we still work in a system that requires moving pieces of paper around for drug prescriptions is kind of... bad. Would be nice if the current need for hey-let's-not-do-that would prompt a change in the system, but I doubt it.
Fun fact: if I run out of cypro, my only method for getting more has so far required that I show up in person to my health insurance's offices and have them arrange a delivery to a pharmacy that works with the specific company providing the drugs, which is a limited selection. I suppose I can try to get creative there too, but...
*the email address he gave was not Gmail, so what I gather is that the only email address he has set up on his phone is the one for his google account (because android phone), and he did not know how to use WhatsApp web so he needed to use email to move the file from phone to computer for printing purposes. I could have offered tech support on the matter but that is probably a bad idea under the circumstances, so I'm glad we worked out some method. I think I could have figured out some way eventually to get a printed version, but damn does quarantine limit your options.

much ado about nothing
I just really need to write out the harrowing saga of my diploma authentication, so I can look back on this later and either laugh or cry.
So I needed my diploma authenticated according to Chinese standards for this work visa business. I have an original copy of my diploma in my immediate possession (because I just carry all these things around with me now for these kind of scenarios). It has an apostille on it from when I went to Korea. Apparently apostilles are not valid for China, and mine is too old anyways. Document agency people told me depending on whether or not the province I would be working in accepts it, they could either make a copy and authenticate it, or I’d have to get an original re-issued by my university to start over. Turns out I need an original.
So I started pestering the registrar of my university about whether, when my diploma is re-issued, she can attach a very specifically worded, signed, and notarized statement of authenticity that the Chinese embassy requires. We argue back and forth with polite passive aggressiveness because she’s adamant that I don’t need this paper because she thinks I’m talking about something else. Finally I got a PDF of an example from the document agency, we agree that we’re not talking about the same thing, and she says to ask again whenever the university re-opens post-Covid-19 situation.
Then. Then the recruiter tells me oh, you can just have your diploma verified by this Chinese government site that deals with the diplomas for Chinese students who’ve studied abroad. Why doesn’t everyone do this instead of dealing with that embassy authentication bullshit?, I wonder to myself. Well. First of all, it’s entirely in Chinese, zero English (although Google translate actually does REALLY well with super official language). I found a 21 page instruction PDF on how to use the website, got through 7 pages of it and had scanned a QRC code to download an app to scan another code that was supposed to scan my face to verify my identity so I could start the application (or something) but it wouldn’t scan because the code was expired because...this whole instruction PDF was completely irrelevant, I guess. So I finally found the right link for the application process. First I needed a Mainland China phone number. Thankfully my Taiwanese friend is living in Shanghai now and I borrowed his (the form actually recommended to use a friend/family member’s number...even though I could get the registration code by email). I went through multiple harrowing pages of intricate details and confusing questions that would all reset if I clicked the wrong thing or it timed out. I finally uploaded all my scans and photos that had to be a certain size and format, including a release form that HAD to be printed out, filled out BY HAND, and re-uploaded.
Then I have to pay the fee. Of course they ONLY accept Chinese bank cards. I spend a while trying to connect my bank account to my WeChat account (fruitlessly, because I don’t live in China) and finally give in and ask this Chinese guy I worked with for 2 days at the last roadhouse if he can do it for me (because I’d be able to pay him back immediately by Australian bank transfer, otherwise I would have just asked Taiwanese Friend but I wasn’t confident about being able to send the money back to him in RMB on Transferwise) and thankfully he was super chill about it. It was accepted. My application is being processed. I’m home free, right?
No. A couple days later I get a notification telling me my university has not updated some critical thing they need, so can I send my student ID, password, and the login link to the email provided so they can check my transcripts? (I already uploaded copies of my transcripts during the application). I can’t remember my student number for the life of me and lost access to my university email in 2014. I start pestering the university IT department to reinstate my access to these things. I also debate with my partner whether or not I should actually give the Chinese government this personal information of mine. I procrastinate on writing a reply in Mandarin because I’d have to look up so many words. He agrees to write a formal sounding apology in Chinese for me saying that I don’t have access to that account but they can feel free to contact the registrar (my ultimate passive aggressive revenge). Multiple emails later, I have access to my student account again but giving my password out would be like waving a giant red sign saying STEAL MY IDENTITY so I log in to my email (the hotmail account with the embarrassing LotR themed name that I made in high school but am using because China doesn’t like Gmail) to send the message my partner composed for me...
And I have an email saying the verification is done and I can download the certificate.

Introduction
It’s currently 3:29am. For the past three hours, I’ve been editing pictures, researching blogging platforms, creating a Facebook, Instagram, and Gmail for this blog, transferring old home photos and videos to Google Photos, and wondering where to start with my first post (though I naturally have plenty of ideas for future posts, of course).
My name is Madeline. My father, Johnny Ray Smith, died of alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver at approximately 11:06pm on January 6th, 2018, when I was 21 years old. Prior to arriving at the hospital on January 5th, I hadn’t spoken to my dad in almost a year. I realized he was an alcoholic in my senior year of high school (winter 2013-2014). After this realization, I would be mostly estranged from my father over the next few years. Once my parents separated in December of 2015, I did not speak to him almost at all (save one phone conversation about the death of a family friend and a few terse words at my brother’s high school graduation) until a family friend called me to let me know that my dad was in the hospital on December 29th, 2016. I went on to keep contact with him (and assumed some of his responsibilities) until I confirmed my suspicions that he was drinking again on April 5th, 2017.
It’s been almost 8 months since I watched my father take his last breath. During that time, I’ve gone through many periods of what I’ll call “active” and “stagnated” grieving. Active grieving, for me, occurs when I let myself think about my dad freely, actively seek out and read self-help/grief books, and open up to my friends, family, and myself about my pain. Stagnated grieving, the more common of the two, happens when I avoid the reality of my dad’s death and (subconsciously) pretend it never even happened. Grieving is a lifelong process, but that doesn’t mean that grief has to control my whole life. If I continue to avoid my grief and refuse to invite it into my life, however, grief will control me.
I’ve enjoyed writing and literature for as long as I can remember. Writing about my personal feelings and day-to-day life has helped improve my mental health and given me a way to work through my problems. I’m also an (embarrassingly) open person. Combining the two has resulted in this blog. I’ve always though personal blogging was a little pretentious, to be honest, since you presumably have to consider yourself pretty interesting or profound to blast your thoughts out onto the internet. But one of the worst parts of losing my father has been how utterly alone I’ve felt, especially since he died when I was a young adult. My hope for this blog is that at least one other person who’s been through the loss of a parent comes across one of my posts and relates to it. I hope they find comfort in the fact that they’re not alone in this experience.
A few points as to how I’ll run this blog:
My goal is to post once a day: at least two full-length blog posts per week and five other memories, facts, or favorites of my dad, or quotes/posts related to grieving.
Since I’m an agnostic atheist, religion won’t be involved much in my posts. I’ve been an atheist since age 15, but many people don’t know this about me. My dad was also an atheist as of the last time we talked about religion. (Given how fond he was of Carl Sagan and Alan Watts, I doubt he changed his mind in the months before his death).
I’ve left the option open for others to submit posts to this blog. Whether you’re a family friend wanting to submit something about my dad, another grieving person, or anyone in-between, feel free to submit a post.
I’m going to run Facebook and Instagram accounts for Death of My Father. Please follow me on those platforms (or here on Tumblr) if you’d like to be notified of new posts.
Thank you for reading this far. I’m scared and relieved to be starting this journey. I hope you’ll follow along with me.

How To Transfer Contacts From One Google Account To Another In Android
1. Figure out where all of your Gmail contacts live. Here's a good place to start. Are they in your My Contacts? Other Contacts? Groups? Directory? Google has a few different lists.
Sync Phone To Google Account
Download and Upload. Go to Google Photos official website and log in your first account. One typical way of doing that is to download all the images and videos from your first Google Photos account and then upload them in your second Google Photos account. In case you don’t want to.
2. Are you using the new or old version of Google Contacts? The new version, called Google Contacts Preview, has a blue and white interface.
3. Make sure that all of the contacts you want syncing with Contacts+ exist in your 'My Contacts'. Contacts+ only syncs with the contacts in the 'My Contacts' list. If you need to move contacts to your 'My Contacts' (from another list), you'll find instructions at the very bottom of this article.
4. Once your 'My Contacts' list is in good shape, sync your Gmail account to your Contacts+ address book. You can do this here: Sync Sources.
Looking at the sync options, you can select, which Outlook contacts to sync (if you have more than one Outlook e-mail account and address book), choose whether to sync deleted contacts, and whether the program prompts you when deleting contacts from your destination address book. Do I have contacts in Gmail?
If you've created a Gmail account (and have sent at least a few emails), you have contacts in your Gmail address book. These are called Google Contacts. In other words, with a Gmail account, you automatically have a Gmail address book, you're just likely unable to find it.
How can I find my contacts in Gmail?
You can find your contacts in Gmail (also known as your Google Contacts) a few different ways:
Option 1: Click on this link.
Option 2: Log into your Gmail account, click on Mail in the upper right-hand corner, then click Contacts.Option 3: Log into your Gmail account, click on the Google Apps dashboard in the upper right-hand corner, then click Contacts.

Am I using the old or the new version of Google Contacts?
You're either going to see the old or the new version of Google Contacts once you access your contacts in Gmail. If you're seeing a red and white interface on the left-hand side, you're using the old version of Google Contacts. If you're seeing a blue interface, you're using Google Contacts Preview (which is the new one).

New version:
How many different contact lists does Google create for me?
Google will create a few different lists for you, such as My Contacts, Other Contacts, Groups, Circles, Directory, and more. You can read about these different lists here.
You'll want to pay close attention to your 'My Contacts', as this is the only list that Contacts+ syncs with. In other words, if you've connected (or are thinking about connecting) your Gmail account to Contacts+, the only list Contacts+ has access to is your 'My Contacts' in Google.
How do I know if I have contacts in my 'My Contacts' in my Gmail account?
Head over to your Google Contacts, then view your My Contacts in the upper left-hand corner.
To note: if you are using the new version of Google Contacts called Google Contacts Preview (it has a blue interface), you will not be able to easily distinguish between your 'My Contacts' and the other lists in Google.
We highly recommend that you switch back to the old version of Google Contacts to easily find your 'My Contacts'. Here are the steps to revert back to the old version of Google Contacts:
1. Click on More (left-hand side dashboard)
2. Click 'Leave the contacts preview'.
How To Transfer Email Contacts From One Gmail Account To Another
How do I add contacts from other lists to 'My Contacts' in Google?
To easily add contacts, either click the box next to each contact's name or you can bulk-select contacts & add them to your 'My Contacts'. In other words, to make sure all of your Google Contacts are in your Contacts+, move contacts from one list - i.e. your Other Contacts - to your 'My Contacts'.
In the new version of Google Contacts, you can individually add contacts to your My Contacts or bulk-select contacts and add them to your My Contacts (using the +Person icon). Click on the contact >> click on +person icon.
Is Contacts+ syncing all of my Google Contacts?
Not necessarily. Contacts+ is only syncing with your 'My Contacts' on Google. Again, while Google has a few different lists (My Contacts, Other Contacts, Directory, etc.), make sure any contacts you want syncing with your Contacts+ account exist in your 'My Contacts'. See our Getting Started on Contacts+ for more instructions.
To manually add 'Other Contacts' to Contacts+, go to your Sync Sources -> … next to your Google Account -> Select 'Search for other contacts in Google'.
What are Google's contact storage limits?
Google has three different storage limits for contacts, which are posted on Google Apps Help Page. These limits for Google Apps accounts also appear to apply to normal Google accounts.
The total number of contacts in a Google account must be 25,000 or less. Please Note: This includes Other Contacts as well as My Contacts. Contacts+ only brings in 'My Contacts' from Google, so it is possible that you may run into your storage limit in Google even if you have less than 25,000 total Google Contacts in Contacts+.
The total size of these contacts must not exceed 20 MB.
Individual contacts must not exceed 128 KB in size.
Yes. The tags you create in Contacts+ sync bi-directionally with your groups on Google Contacts.

OpenSSH 8.5 released March 3, 2021 OpenSSH is the premier connectivity tool for remote login with the SSH protocol. It encrypts all traffic to eliminate eavesdropping, connection hijacking, and other attacks. In addition, OpenSSH provides a large suite of secure tunneling capabilities, several authentication methods, and sophisticated. Determines if SSH shall use IPv6 or not (only used when HostAddress is set to any). Shell(Host) - shell(Host, Option) - shell(Host, Port, Option) - Types: Host = string Port = integer Options - see ssh:connect/3. Starts an interactive shell to an SSH server on the given Host. The function waits for user input, and will not return until the remote shell is ended (e.g. On exit from the shell). Enable SSH on a headless Raspberry Pi (add file to SD card on another machine) For headless setup, SSH can be enabled by placing a file named ssh, without any extension, onto the boot partition of the SD card from another computer. When the Pi boots, it looks for the ssh file. If it is found, SSH is enabled and the file is deleted. Ssh 3.

Hls streaming download firefox.
As we’ll see in a bit there is certainly an app for that, but we’re going to get startede with three methods that are easily achieved using tools that you likely already have and use, namely iCloud, email, and iTunes. The key to each of these methods is the vCard.
What Is a vCard?
Also known as a VCF file, a vCard is like a digital business card. These plain text files store bits of contact information such as name, phone number, email address, and physical address. Whether you want to export all contacts from your iPhone or just a couple, these files make it possible. Once you’ve exported vCards for your contacts, the resulting VCF files can be opened using a variety of options including Outlook, Google Contacts, Windows Contacts, and more.
Although many applications support vCards, there are certain programs (such as Excel or Google Sheets) that don’t read the VCF format. In that case, you can also convert the VCF file into a CSV file.
What Is a CSV File?
CSV stands for comma separated values. Like VCF files, CSV files are also plain text files. Containing only letters and numbers, these files display contact (and other) information in tables and are usually opened and edited using spreadsheet software like Excel. Although Excel can read CSV files, we recommend converting VCF files into Excel-compatible XLS and XLSX files.
Method 1: Export Contacts From iPhone Without iCloud
If you want to know how to export contacts from your iPhone without iCloud or you want to export only a few contacts (such as texting a colleague’s contact information to a friend or emailing the fruits of your networking labor to your work email address), one of the simplest ways, besides AirDrop, is through email or text:
1. Open your iPhone’s Contacts app.
2. Select the contact you want to export.
3. Once their details load, scroll down and select Share Contact.
4. Select Messages, Mail, or your desired email app from the pop-up.
5. Your contact’s vCard is now attached to an email or text, so finish writing and sending it as normal. Just dance nintendo switch.
Method 2: Export Contacts From iPhone to PC With iCloud
Tumblr media
If the Contacts app method is no match for your 1,000-people-and-counting address book, then we suggest using iCloud. Apple’s cloud storage service doesn’t just sync your contacts across all your devices, it allows you to export your iPhone contacts in bulk. To begin, you first need to ensure that your contacts are being synced with your iCloud account:
1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Select your name before tapping on iCloud.
3. From the iCloud settings page, find Contacts under the list of “Apps Using iCloud” and ensure that the Contacts toggle is switched on – this syncs your contacts and allows them to be exported to a VCF file.
Ssl_error_bad_mac_alert. The ‘ sslerrorbadmacalert ‘ error typically occurs in Mozilla Firefox when affected users attempt to visit certain secured websites. In some cases, the error appears when the user attempts to send emails via the IMAP interface to Gmail. Mozilla Firefox sslerrorbadmacalert Error.
4. Select Merge if asked, “What would you like to do with existing local contacts on your iPhone?”. This makes sure that it syncs any changes you make to a contact on your phone with iCloud.
5. Using a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in using your Apple ID.
6. Select Contacts.
7. Click on the gear icon in the lower left-hand corner.
a. To export all contacts from iPhone, tap Select All.
b. To export only certain contacts, hold Ctrl or Shift to choose individual contacts.
8. Once you choose your contacts, click on the gear icon once more and tap Export vCard.
Your contacts are now backed up to your computer in the VCF format. If you simply wanted to know how to export contacts from an iPhone to a PC, your job here is done. Openssh 6.7 p1. Otherwise, continue on to import your vCard details to Google Contacts or to convert your VCF files to the CSV format.
Method 2a: Export Contacts From iPhone to Gmail With iCloud
Do you use Gmail? Planning on making the switch to Android? With Google permeating much of our technological universe, consider backing up your friends’ and family’s contact details to Google Contacts:
1. Create a Google account if you don’t already have one.
2. From your browser, log in to Google Contacts.
3. Click on Import along the left-hand side then tap Select file.
4. Locate and select the desired vCard information you exported from iCloud before clicking Import.
If you already have a Google account, you may notice some duplicate contacts. To avoid any confusion, we recommend deleting or updating them as necessary. You can either do this manually or by using Gmail’s Merge & fix tool along the left-hand side.
Method 2b: Export Contacts From iPhone to Excel With iCloud
Are you spreadsheet-obsessed? Want to mail out a promotion the old-fashioned way and need to perform an Excel mail merge on your iPhone contacts? Get thee to a VCF-to-CSV online converter and turn your vCard contacts into Excel-supported CSV, XLS, and XLSX files:
1. Can parcels be put in a post box. Navigate to your desired online conversion tool. We like the free AConvert.
2. Click on Choose Files to select the VCF files you previously exported from iCloud, choose your Target format (CSV, XLS, or XLSX) then tap Convert Now.
3. Download the converted file and open it using your spreadsheet software of choice.
Method 3: Export Contacts From iPhone With iTunes
Now, suppose that you are still using an iPhone 3G that runs on iOS 4.X or below, how can you export your contacts? iCloud is out of the question since you need at least an iPhone 4 running iOS5. Never fear – iTunes to the rescue (as long as you have a PC with Windows or Mac OS Mojave or earlier, that is). In 2019, with the release of Mac OS Catalina, iTunes was discontinued and its functionality split between four separate apps, making this method null and void for all but a select few. However, it still remains a possible option for those who like their computers how they like their smartphones – old and out-of-date distinguished and with many years of experience:
1. Make sure that you are running the latest version of iTunes on your Windows PC, then use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to your computer.
2. Launch iTunes. In the left-hand panel, open your device’s summary page by clicking on your iPhone.
3. Tap on Info and check the box next to Sync Contacts with.
4. From the drop-down, select the appropriate option.
Method 3a: Export Contacts From iPhone to Outlook or Gmail With iTunes
Once you reach Step 4 above, you have the option of exporting your contacts to the email provider of your choice:
1. Select either Google Contacts or Outlook.
a. If necessary, log in to the account and make sure it is connected to your phone or computer.
2. Select the contacts you wish to export.
a. To export all contacts from iPhone, select All contacts.
b. To export only certain contacts, select Selected groups to choose individual contacts.
3. Tap Apply or Sync to export your contacts.
Method 3b: Export Contacts From iPhone to Excel With iTunes
If you want one big, beautiful, sortable spreadsheet with all your contacts, continue here from Step 4:
1. Select Windows Contacts from the drop-down.
2. Select the contacts you wish to export.
a. To export all contacts from iPhone, select All contacts.
b. To export only certain contacts, select Selected groups to choose individual contacts.
3. Tap Apply or Sync to export your contacts.
4. Find the newly synced folder called Contacts in your Windows profile and open it.
How To Sync Contacts From Iphone 7 To Gmail
5. In the top-right corner of the window, click on Export.
6. Highlight CSV (Comma Separated Values) from the options and tap Export.
7. Select a name for your new CSV file, tap Browse to choose where the file should be saved, then click Next.
8. Pick the contacts you would like to export to a CSV file and click Finish to finish exporting your iPhone contacts to Excel using iTunes.
There’s an App for That
Want to export your contacts, but don’t have access to (or would prefer to not use) iCloud or iTunes? Your best bet is downloading a third-party app from the App Store. Although they take up a bit more space on your phone, they make exporting your contacts a snap. Here are some of the App Store’s top options:
Easy Backup
Just like its name says, Easy Backup makes backing up your iPhone contacts as simple as pressing a button. If you want to send your address book to the cloud or email a copy of your contact list to your work email, this is the (free) app for the job. Although its functionality is limited to VCF files, Easy Backup gets bonus points for having the best-looking design of the bunch.
Contacts Backup + Transfer
Accidentally messed up one of your contact’s information? Not to worry. This app lets you access every backup you’ve ever completed – and allows you to export your contacts using not just email, but Airdrop and Messages as well. Need heavy-duty, military-grade encryption protection for your contacts or want to do automatic backups? Get the pro version for $2.99 a month.
My Contacts Backup
Although its interface may be more utilitarian than the competition, the free version of My Contacts Backup is plenty robust. Want to export your contacts to a CSV format so you can view your address book as a spreadsheet in Excel? This is the app for you. However, if you have more than 500 contacts, be prepared to drop the extra cash on the pro version.

FLIR Sensor
As the standout feature of the CAT S62 Pro, I wanted to start this review unconventionally by talking extensively about the embedded Lepton 3.5 sensor, sourced from Teledyne FLIR. Normally reserved for military and professional applications, infrared radiation detection enables you to view a part of the electromagnetic spectrum that's not visible to humans.
The Lepton 3.5 sensor is the latest embeddable version that offers 160 x 120 resolution, though by default this is overlaid onto a mixed reality mode using a dedicated FLIR app on the CAT S62 Pro. Although the resolution sounds low, it's a four-times improvement over the previous generation and provides more than enough granularity for most applications, as you'll see below. Remember, this isn't like taking a photograph—it's another layer of data to overlay onto reality.
To test out the FLIR sensor, we took a walk around the garden on a cold April night. For the full effect, it's definitely worth watching the review video from which the screengrabs below are taken.
First, we looked at some bulk compost bags that had just been delivered that morning. These are made from the green waste of the local area, and you could immediately see that they were still very much actively composting. The top appear ascracked lava, and digging away underneath the surface revealed very high temperatures. This compost should be left to decompose a little longer, or risks burning the roots of new seedlings.
Tumblr media
It was fascinating to see how much heat is retained by large rocks. Below are some gabion rock walls that hold back our hillside; they're a good 10-degrees Celsium above the ambient temperature. We could really benefit from that by planting against them to protect against frost.
Tumblr media
Below is a Hotbin composter. The company claims it can reach up to 60-degrees Celsius, which is needed to break down harder organic waste such as bones—but I've never really believed those claims. But even on a cold spring night, digging in revealed temperatures up to 50-degrees, so it seems feasible after all.
Tumblr media
Water also appears to retain a lot of heat—you can clearly see the water level in this opaque rainwater collector.
Tumblr media
Footsteps could also be seen for about thirty seconds after the fact; I had no idea that much heat was transferred to a surface with momentary contact. I can imagine this would immensely useful when hunting, both for tracking the live animal of course, and its path when you're close.
Tumblr media
We were also able to identify hot water pipes around the home, and some very damp areas of concern. My office was a mess of hot plugs and adaptors, but most interesting were the Nanoleaf light panels, in which you could see where the LEDs were wired (the panels were off at the time).
Tumblr media
The FLIR app has a high degree of customization, including changing the color scheme, mixing in more of less of the real camera view, and manually locking the temperature scales. By default it'll automatically scale the view depending on the temperature range. You can also add measurement points for a rough indication of the actual temperature at a specific point or average over an area. Mostly, I left it on the default color scheme and dynamic scaling, with object outlines rather than a full mixed camera view, as that seemed to be the most useful to a layperson like myself.
You could actually buy the sensor alone for around $200, but of course, you would need the smarts to integrate this into your own camera system. The closest offering from the FLIR company for a similarly specced complete package appears to be the C5 model, which retails for closer to $800. As a feature on a $600 smartphone then, I'd say it's good value for money and a lot more convenient than carrying around a dedicated device.
CAT S62 Pro Hardware
Featuring a 5.7-inch TFT LCD with Gorilla Glass 6, the CAT S62 Pro eschews a notch entirely. There's around 2mm of bezel on the left and right, and 10mm or so on the top and bottom, resulting in a fairly low screen-to-body ratio of around 69%.  Colors are reasonable and it feels bright enough in daily use, though like most smartphones visibility in direct sunlight is difficult.
With a resolution of 1280 x 2160, it's higher than HD, but not quite Retina-level. I don't have any complaints about the screen, but nor is it an aspect of the phone I would labor over and tell you how great it is.

At 12mm overall thickness and 250g weight (0.47-inches / 8.8 ounces), with a solid metal band around the edge, it's certainly a chunky phone. The back is a durable rubberized plastic, with a textured area on the lower half to help with grip, and feels great in hand. Easy unlock is provided by the fingerprint sensor, which worked reliably for me throughout testing.

The CAT logo is prominently embossed in the top right. On the left side, you'll find a programmable orange multifunction button, and a dual-SIM tray with a shared micro-SD slot. The power and volume keys sit on the right, though in one-handed use the power key feels a little off. On the base is a bare USB-C port with no cover provided, but I had no issues after submerging it in water and dirt.

The CAT S62 is about as rugged as a phone can get, with both IP68 and IP69 rating, protecting against water and dust ingress, and meets the MIL-STD-810 specs. This includes submersion up to 2m for 60 minutes, and protection from high-pressure water jets. Drops up to 6-feet should also be no problem.
I'm not going to deliberately try to destroy it, but it survived some drops in the dirt and water fine, even without a rubber cover on the USB port.
Performance and Specifications
Rugged phones and top performance don't usually go together, and the CAT S62 Pro is no different, featuring 6GB RAM and a three-year-old Snapdragon 660 CPU with Adreno 512 graphics.
Geekbench 5 measured a disappointing single-core CPU score of 294, multicore 1403, and a GPU compute OpenCL score of 574.
The 3DMark Wild Life test ranked the device as more powerful than a mere 9% of phones tested this quarter, and in the bottom 3% overall, managing a paltry two frames-per-second. That said, I was able to play Call of Duty, though I wouldn't describe it as smooth. Clearly, this isn't a gaming phone.

More worryingly, I felt like the general interface had an almost imperceptible lag to most actions. Even with a DNS blocker on the network, browsing the web was sluggish. Loading times in general on the CAT S62 Pro are also slow, likely due to the eMMC 128GB storage. Generally speaking, the performance was acceptable, and I was able to comfortably use it for daily tasks like Slack, Google Discover, Gmail, and Reddit. However, users of pro apps may have issues, and gamers should obviously look elsewhere. Sadly, flagship rugged gaming phones with FLIR imaging is a niche market that manufacturers have yet to explore.
Running stock Android 10, updates do seem to be timely, typically every three months. The latest at the time of testing is from April 1st, so you should be able to rest safely in the knowledge that security won't be an issue. CAT has promised to update the device to Android 11 in due course, though this hasn't yet materialized in the six months since the phone's release.
The Cameras
With the FLIR sensor being the main imaging feature here, you'll only find a single rear-facing 12MP f1.8 sensor. In good light, photographs and videos look sharp and more than adequate for a mid-range phone. It's not stunning by any means, but you won't be disappointed. If you regularly find yourself using the zoom or macro lenses on your current phone, this single sensor will feel limiting.

The front-facing selfie camera is also adequate, though again nothing outstanding.

Battery Life
The 4000mAh battery is larger than your average flagship, but less than other rugged devices. In typical use I got just over a day out of it. This is a little less than I'd expect from a rugged device and is likely due to the inefficient LCD screen.

A more curious omission from the CAT S62 Pro is that of a wireless Qi charger. Given the otherwise low cost of such circuitry (it's basically just a metal coil), I assume there's a good technical reason why one wasn't included—perhaps because it interferes with the FLIR sensor. This is particularly annoying on a rugged device though, where you don't always want to be fiddling with cables and may opt to block off the USB port entirely with a rubber bung.
Should You Buy The CAT S62 Pro?
The standout feature of the CAT S62 Pro is the FLIR imaging sensor, and it adds a good chunk to the price. If you're not interested in using that, then don't buy the CAT S62 Pro. Simple.
That said, I think it's a fascinating feature to have with a myriad of uses beyond industry professionals. For homeowners, it makes it easy to identify damp or insulation issues and trace pipework behind drywall. For outdoorsy types, you can see in the dark, and get a competitive edge when hunting.
Tumblr media
The CAT S62 Pro extremely well built and feels like it would take a beating, at the same time as looking great. But it otherwise offers mediocre performance, an average camera, below-average battery life, and no 5G connectivity or Qi charging.
You'll find better performing rugged phones elsewhere at this price point, or significantly cheaper if performance isn't a priority and you don't need the FLIR sensor. Clearly, this isn't a phone designed to appeal to everyone, but for those who want great quality FLIR imaging, the CAT S62 Pro is an incredible choice.
