red spilled water - hnk faun au fic

a request by @daireannx that honestly i had alot of fun with lol. VERY long holy shit. also warning of stabby stab and big bad words like f***.

“cinny! cinnyyyyyy!”

cinnabar jolted slightly from the rock they were sitting on, under a tree behind the bushes that seperated the busy dirt street from the nature as they looked to see the familiar face of a turquoised haired youth.

immediately they rushed to them, pushing their face from the bush as they pushed their face through it. “what’re you doing!?” they shrieked in a whisper as phos rubbed their nose. “i wanted to show you this really pretty waterfall i found.”

“...are you shitting me?!” they whispered again. “you couldn’t show me at night or something?”

“but it looks prettier in the day please cinnyyyyy?” they whined lightly as cinnabar could already feel people staring and whispers of their strange nature. moving to their pocket they took out a small glass bottle, looking at it in conflict. it was a tussle lately with people nearly prohibiting them from getting any water out of fear they’d contaminate it. not even the BEACH they could get it’s nasty salt water from.

they sighed. “alright. fine. but next time get me when the street isn’t busy dummy.” they stated as they crawled through the bush, phos crawling along with them chuckling embarrassed. “sorry. i just got excited ehehe. and wanted to show you!”

they blushed lightly as they moved deeper into nature, enough for them to stand up and walk. they let the turquoised fawn lead as they looked over the view. “hey, uhm, is this really okay though?”

“yeah why?”

“i mean, aren’t all your people awake or something?”

“yeah but this waterfall is far away from em, they only go to so many places to hunt and stuff.”

“if you say so.” as they walked over the trees sprouting roots and rocks layered in moss their eyes widened as they saw from a distance the giant waterfall that fell into a pool that gave small streams towards the two.

“oh...wow.” they whispered lightly as they knelt over to the small stream.

*crack*

they jolted up as they heard something like a stick crack, only to look back down again as phos joined them. “pretty cool right?” they smiled. “yeah.”

panting heaving zircon leapt in skips, ignoring yellow’s calls to them to slow down as they bumped into something black and dark. falling on their behind they panted and squirmed as bortz looked behind them.

“what are you doing?” they asked as dia put a hand on their shoulder to calm them whilst yellow caught up to them panting. once they did zircon squirmed to latch onto them as they knelt down awkwardly to hold them. “eheh sorry bort something spook-”

“hhu...uumm...mman.” all three paused in shock as zircon shivered. “ssaw...hhhu...mman. eeastern fforest aarea enttrance.”

dia moved in slightly. “wwell, maybe they’ll leave, barely anyone goes-”

“thththey...wwwere with...phphos-” they yelped as bort picked them up from the front of their top. “where. are. they?”

“i’ll show the way.” yellow interjected as bort put them down on their hooves, immediately zircon latched onto yellow as the four skipped off in the direction. getting closer to the destination they started to quietly walk, avoiding as many sticks and loud pieces of nature as they could until they found the two still crunched over the small river.

immediately zircon hid in yellow’s shoulder as dia moved to lift their bow and arrow. “i can take them.” they whispered as bort pushed the bow down gently. “you mad? if they have a weapon and you miss they could kill the little brat.” dia looked down dejected as bortz unsheathed their sword.

the four watched as the red headed human reached into their pocket, the light shining on the unknown object that made it sparkle, immediately the raven jumped out of the hiding spot with their sword in perfect position to stab.

“bortz be caref-”

immediately a strained scream echoed as bort felt a force infront of them, keeping them further from the human but did not deter their sword from stabbing into an upper part of their chest.

“BORT YOU MEANIE NO!” they heard phos shriek as they looked up to them, tears pricking as they moved with all their strength to hold them back.

“WHAT’RE YOU DOING?!” they exclaimed trying to push them away.

“THEIR SAFE THEIR NOT BAD!”

“YOU THINK I’LL BELIEVE THAT EASI-wait...DID YOU BRING A HUMAN BACK!?” the younger started tearing up as the three fighters popped up getting closer, finding cinnabar holding the bleeding wound in their body and scrunched up behind a tree oak panting lightly.

“their my friend!”

“YOU IDIOT do you know what danger you could be putting us in?!”

“please....help.”

the five looked as cinnabar was looking more tired, hand nearly covered in blood as phos moved away to hold them lightly. they looked back glaring at them. “you HAVE to fix them!”

“HUH!? who said YOU could give orders!?” bort exclaimed as phos moved to look at dia and yellow as zircon was currently hiding behind yellow. “dia! yel! please.” both looked to the other unsure.

“i mean, we can’t patch up a human.”

“and the quack’s not gonna like it if we bring one back-”

“please!” both looked as phos’s eyes were wide, already shaking up the two from the cuteness.

“you two can’t be serious.”

“aw c’mon bort, we got a whole village that’s got least one weapon on em.”

“and why should I follow along with this? i can take them down right now.” they stated, positioning their sword only for dia to get infront of them. “bortz-y no!”

“dia!”

“just trust us for once alright!?” they exclaimed catching everyone off guard. “if they do something then we’ll finish them off but their not right now! so just trust us for a second alright? we’re not stupid.” they stated almost coldly, slowly the raven put their sword back growling. “whatever, i’m not carrying them then.”

“mmph! haah.” they looked as phos was trying to pick them up by the torso. “it’s...alright...cinny i...’m gonna get...you back.” they panted out, only to feel cinnabar moved out of their arms as dia picked them up bridal style. “just follow us phos, everything’ll be okay.” they comforted with a smile as the five moved to gallop while bortz cursed under their breath on this situation.

as they got to the entrance of the village they all stopped, save for phos who bumped into bortz. “owwww. hey why we stopping we’re almost there?”

“oh yes lets just walk out to EVERYONE holding a fucking HUMAN that’ll go so fan fucking well.” bortz snapped back as phos’s ears went down pouting. “i know a shortcut to the quack’s place. follow me.” yellow whispered as they all skipped as quietly as they could to the end of the village, watching for a clear enough path to lead straight to rutile’s medical bay.

on yellow’s cue they all ran straight towards them, yellow literally bumping into them as the doctor shrieked and fell whilst bortz drew the curtains of their bay’s entrance. “ow yellow you fu-” they started, seeing the red headed human in dia’s arms. “...oh my fucking god what the hell-” they started only to start whispering. “the hell did you bring a human back!?”

“ask the brat.” bort stated as phos pouted. “phos.” they squeaked as rutile came forward to them with their surgical tools in hand. “tell my why there’s a human on my surgical bed hm?”

“i uhm...bbortz stabbed them!”

“well YOU brought a human here!”

“i brought em to a waterfall nearby you guys weren’t supposed to be there dummies!”

“hah?” they squeaked and ran to hide behind dia. “ppleeeaaase though rutile they need help!”

“what makes you think i won’t just kill them? i have the literal tools for it.”

“because your a doctor.” yellow interjected giving a smirk. “would be bad for your reputation, right?~” rutile glared at them as they groaned. “damn you, knowing my secrets. ...fine fine, all of you get out i don’t let anyone human or not die on me.” they stated pushing them all out and keeping the curtains closed.

“finally.” bortz stated as they stomped off with the four following suite. “wwait! you guys won’t tell right?” phos asked, the four looking at eachother as bortz groaned. “if that human doesn’t bring anyone back, then no.” they stated as they went back to leave.

slowly opening their eyes cinnabar’s dimly lit red sphere’s moved to look around, finding the familiar phos and some bruenette and blonde colored person that seemed to look similar to them. groaning lightly they moved to sit up, seeing the one holding a small scalpel closely as phos moved their hands to their shoulders. “easy easy.” they replied as they laid cinnabar back down. “rest.”

“wha...i what...hap..pened?”

“i saved your life. you can thank me later.” rutile stated as they moved to walk out. “you’ll be staying here for the time being so i suggest you get some rest and keep quiet.” they instructed, giving a yawn. “i’m going to bed.”

“thanks ruti.” phos responded sweetly as they waved at the doctor whose back was turned leaving.

“you...said they...wouldn’t find us?” cinnabar asked, almost sounding betrayed as phos looked back guiltily. “i...thought they wouldn’t. it was in an area we don’t go to often. i’m sorry.” they mumbled, moving their hand into their vest’s pocket pulling out the now corked glass bottle filled with water. “i got you back this though.” they stated smiling as cinnabar weakly took it back. uncorking it they quickly drank it all with a sigh.

“...maybe i...should’ve bought more bottles.”

“well we can always go next time!”

“maybe you can go next time and get me water. will that make you not call out to me in daylight?” phos giggled as they rubbed the back of their head. “yeah ehehe. i should go though, i gotta be there for role call but i’ll sneak back in.” they stated as cinnabar’s eyes closed again. “kay, whatever.”

as they opened the curtain of the entrance they stared face to face with euclase, with jade behind them as their face was contorted in a solemn expression. immediately they closed the curtain behind them. “AH ah, eeuc hi i was just gonna-”

“phos, we know.” they stated, phos feeling their heart almost stopping as they kneeled to them, tears pricking to their eyes. “please...please don’t hurt them, i promise i won’t do it again, ii’ll do anything, i’ll be banished, orr do anything please just don’t-”

“phos phos breathe.” euc stated, kneeling to them as phos took shaky deep breaths. “listen, padparascha and i will be holding a meeting tomorrow on this situation.”

“yyour...nnot gonna hhurt them?”

“i mean, euc’s too sweet to do that.” jade stated as euc hummed amused by the compliment. “yes well, we won’t. but you’ll have to stay here and watch this human till the meeting. yellow volunteered to guard the outside for the night.”

“sso i...uhm...”

“you can go back inside for now. just be prepared.” they stated as they and jade moved to leave while yellow was walking towards then passing them as phos moved back inside with a sigh.

“i’m...such a disturbance.” their ears perked as cinnabar’s eyes were cracked open, glittering by the moon’s shine through the hole window. “first humans, now deer people...why did you have to take me?” they choked up lightly as phos moved to their side, petting the tears lightly off their cheeks. “i promise, i won’t let anyone hurt you cinny.”

“avoiding the question.” they chuckled lightly as their eyes moved to close. “it’s alright, i’m...too cowardly to hear the reason.” they mumbled as they fell asleep, phos petting them as the moon continued to shine on the two.
