i love in hushed whispers, though i definitely think cotj is more fun as a quest, & at the same time i wish the quest were a little less... clunky? a little less one-and-done? retrospectively from trespasser, it's clear that ihw is supposed to parallel solas' own ambitions, but throughout, it also parallels corypheus' decisions to shape the world in the image he knows and is familiar with, and so i really wished those themes had been addressed a little less... clumsily i guess. idk its hard to say but the writing for ihw feels a little loose - the horror of the reality in front of you because it's Wrong and it Shouldn't Be like this, and there are hints of it, but i wish the wrongness had a more visceral impact? i suppose in a lot of ways this was related to game mechanics but hmmmmmm....

slowly starting to hear the song/singing surrounded with red lyrium as you progress through the game, the anchor not working properly/suddenly deteriorating like in trespasser bc of how damaged the veil is, your companions themselves having lyrium growing out of them (+ being "its not as bad as it could be" about it), actually having demons talk to you/try to tempt you as you fight them, reality itself being suddenly flexible (parts of the ground suddenly disappearing or a giant chasm where you have to Believe to cross it - OOOOH something similar to the gauntlet of shar???)....

my fav parts of ihw are when leliana gets furious with you for acting like this world didnt matter and its all just pretend, as if she didnt really suffer. i wish that had been capitalised more - dorian blithely going around saying dont worry we'll go back and erase everything and make none of this matter should have some more impact... more arguments w your companions abt the decision youre about to make to erase everything they know as if everything they suffered wasnt real! i've got a few more ideas but curious abt what everyone else might've wanted to see in ihw

Virgil is absolutely terrified by Remus.

So ofc he drew him with his mace!!

The schrodingers details are really popping off here.

And by that, I mean that it is both a pretty detailed sketch, and a very rushed through one.

Firstly, it's the first full body sketch we see from Virgil since Patton

Which emphasises the fact that he really knows Remus (the past doesn't go away that easily)

Secondly, it's the little ruffles on his sleeves, and high boots, and dirty knees that pull all of this together.

But I can't ignore that it's still rushed through. That Virgil hasn't grown to the point that he can accept Remus, or see him as something more than a scary illness.

Another detail that I'd like to bring to your attention right about now is, how both the dark sides are looking straight (gay) to the viewer (Virgil).

In antithesis to the "light" sides, that are looking at something or someone else.

1. HMMMMMM I think this is a tie between Ian, my sweet cheese, my rotten solider, my good time boy FOREVER and Lip.

Ian because barring a bit in the middle there (which was understandable) he's probably the most optimistic of them all. He can see a better life for himself and he's gonna make it happen and he believes he deserves it! He's adaptable (middle child shit) and has that Gallagher ability to think outside the box. A trait he and Lip share as they become adults that I love dearly is their desire to grow and change and be better, even if means admitting some hard things and taking responsibility for bad choices. I don't love the whole gay Jesus storyline (could have been handled in a way that felt less gimmicky imo) but I did like that Ian wasn't going to not own up to the why of his actions, especially because it shows him putting his needs before those of others, ie his little cult following, because he can't heal from it or begin to make amends if he's not honest. He doesn't want to be Monica, who could never accept her diagnosis and her own culpability in bad decisions AND she didn't let anyone be the support system Ian builds for himself with his siblings and Mickey to help him make the good choices when all his brain wants is the other ones.

Lip has those self-sabotaging tendencies of a person who doesn't believe he belongs, or that he shouldn't get good things, and the added pressure of everyone telling you forever how smart you are and how you're gonna be The One who gets out/makes something of themselves/changes everything for the family/etc and when suddenly shit is hard???? And you feel like you can't say anything because you're The One??? And you feel guilty for not being home and for enjoying being your own individual person for the first time in your entire life???? It broke my heart to see him try to half-ass sobriety in some attempt to keep hold of how he wasn't like Frank, he was better, he was The One, but it was great to see him accept that he the best way to be NOT like Frank was to accept that this was a problem he had and that he needed to do something about it. My feelings on how, in the later seasons, they could have utilized his rocky path to being a better person and embracing the growing emotional intelligence and communication skills that come with doing a 12 step program like AA are MANY (and I have OPINIONS on all how the arcs of all the siblings went real fucking sideways out of nowhere) and I am sad every day we got the set up for something great for him and they leaned into Dumb Shenanigans instead.

2. I have more in common with with Lip than most of the others, in that I had that idea that as the "you're so smart! Everything is so easy for you!" gifted kid I had a really really hard time accepting when shit was no longer easy and also understanding that I could ask for help, because who was I if I wasn't those things and ALSO no one believed me when I did ask, because I was so smart and everything was easy so I just wasn't trying hard enough surely (the adult diagnosis of severe ADHD really put a lot of this into context). I struggle to accept when things change for how I thought I would be and I also have the tendency to not believe I deserve good things, but unlike Lip I've done enough therapy to be able to push back when the brain gremlins come calling. I also looked at the family history of substance abuse and alcoholism and went "nah I don't think I'm gonna drink when I'm stressed, seems like tempting fate" which he didn't do till he had to, but I can absolutely see myself going a different route if the drinking culture I grew up with had been more casual.

hidden pictures - CONTROVERSIAL so i cant super super recommend it, but despite the controversy it was maybe my favorite book this year!! adult fiction about a 20-something recovering addict who takes a nanny job with a nice suburban family. the kid starts drawing freaky, unsettling pictures. the family gets a little stranger as time goes on, and clues start cropping up all over. some people think its dumb af, and some people love it. i happened to be in the love camp haha.

under the whipsering door wasnt a favorite necessarily but i really enjoyed it. the premise is that when people die, they go somewhere where a ferryman can take them to the afterlife. this book's ferryman works in a tea shop. spirits stay there until they're ready to pass through the whispering door - and nobody knows what's behind the door. the story is about a mean lawyer who dies and wakes up at the tea shop and refuses to go through the door. it had me choking up at one part, and im not a crier!! potentially very moving if youre in the right headspace. found family, huge growth from the main character. great read.

breathe and count back from ten - ya about a high school girl with hip dysplasia and overprotective parents. all she wants in the world is to be a professional mermaid and perform at her town's tourist attraction called mermaid cove. i wish the love story hadnt been part of this bc i was just interested in how her medical stuff affects her, hearing about her body image, seeing her interact with her family, watching her attempt to overcome obstacles, etc.

hmmmmmm ok. Am I going to take way longer to answer this than necessary? absolutely.

So I think it’s easy to look at Camilla and assume she wants kids. In fact, in my playthrough (where I had mods lol) that’s why I opted to have her marry laslow rather than one of her retainers (also bcos purple soleil is pretty). But I pretty quickly realised that no, I don’t think she actually does—at least not that much. She might think she does, but her “I care only about my family more than anything” is….just about her siblings. She’s already kind of done the mothering thing for her siblings, and I’m not sure she’s aching to do it for real. Especially because marrying and having a family would pull her away from her siblings.

HOWEVER. As you may have….. noticed, I said she cares most about her siblings and doesn’t want to be pulled away from them. If she’s with Leo……. a lot of the reasons I think she doesn’t want kids dissipate—especially if Leo wants them. Again, she’d do anything for her siblings, especially the one she loves. It’s part of why I love unrequited camilleo, actually, because I think she’d absolutely still sleep with him—but wouldn’t be able to give him the love he really wants. But I digress, this isn’t about them lol

Leo it’s a litttttle harder for me to decide how badly he really wants kids—I get the vibes that in canon forrest kind of happens by accident. Although that’s kind of true for all the kids to an extent lol, I have some Opinions about the way that system was integrated to the game. But Leo at the age and position in life he is in game, which I’d say is around 19 or 20, I don’t think actually really wants kids. When he’s older, maybe. Birthright Leo, though…. I could definitely see being a different story.

So I suppose I’m answering this question for either birthright Leo, or just… a slightly older Leo, after the war is over and things have settled down, and he’s been able to mature a bit and maybe step outside of Xander’s shadow.

But, I can absolutely see him having a breeding kink, especially with Camilla. Leo, who already has 2 or 3 kids with her, ….skipping a couple of precautionary steps in the heat of the moment, only for a few weeks later Camilla to find out she’s pregnant again. She teases him so hard about it, but she loves it and wouldn’t have it any other way.

I don’t know how many I think they’d have, but they definitely don’t plan to have that many, it just happens. I do think they’d be quite wary of having too many, because of their own childhoods, so I think they’d probably cap it at 5 maximum. Maybe 3 or 4 instead. I’m pretty sure Leo and Camilla don’t actually know how many siblings they initially had—and with Leo’s issues with abandonment and being ignored, I think he especially would be quite scared of having too many kids and having some of them feel forgotten.

Also, I don’t think Camilla is a very good mom in-game, in her parent/child supports. Or maybe it’s just because of the deeprealms and i should give her more credit. Such a terrible idea plot-wise lol. Orrr maybe Soleil just has bad mom supports, idk. But I think she’d be a very good mom when it comes to kids she’d have with Leo (or xander or corrin for that matter). Her intense love for her siblings would spread onto their children, and she’s be just as kind and loving and doting to them as she is to corrin and elise.

She and Leo would be very far from perfect parents, they’re wayyy too fucked up for that. But I think they’d try their best, and they’d be loving parents. Also…… I think Leo who gets to be married to Camilla would be kinder to Forrest. So much of how he treats Forrest is rooted in his own shame, about how people perceive him—I’m pretty sure it says somewhere that people thought he looked like a girl when he was a kid? And so much of his shame is actually rooted in the fact that he loves Camilla….. a Leo who can freely love Camilla is a Leo who’d carry less shame and be much more ready to accept his son for who he is.

Hmmmmmm your timing is impeccable because I've actually been writing campervan au this evening. I've had a similar ask to this sitting in my inbox for a little while now (sorry for not answering, whoever sent that one!) and honestly it's kind of a difficult one to answer because I can't really think of anything specific off the top of my head right now. It's not a fun fact so much, but I do really love how I can find out something in one au, and then suddenly it reveals something in all the other aus. When I was thinking intensely about AU5 a few months back (which is the one where thoschei run away from everything when they're kids) I actually figured out some REALLY key important things about Graham, of all people, that I go reaaaaaally into depth about in campervan part 6. There's a conversation he remembers having with Grace that he also has in AU5, but it's a couple of decades earlier than literally all the other verses and so whilst it has the same emotional impact, the result is very different because the context just isn't the same hahah

Ok my other favourite thing is the way that, in multiple AUs, Grace and Graham take one look at the Doctor (and, in some cases, Koschei too) and are like 'ok we're parents now' HAHAH

And then hm a ziptie funfact - in Campervan AU, it takes quite a long time within the story for the information to all get revealed. In ziptie, it happens a lot faster, and (believe it or not) in LESS ideal circumstances than it will be revealed in the main au, which means the Doctor essentially gets a TON of lifechanging information dumped on her very quickly, not in the right order, and she. Does NOT cope with it very well at all hahah. Also in ziptie - I take the whole 'kasaavin has a mind texting function' to the next level, which is so strange when I think about campervan au because the kasaavin has only been talked about in part 1 and 2, whereas in ziptie it's like....so crucial to the plot of the entire thing, in many ways. Koschei gets one put on his neck pretty early on, and the Doctor gets hers put back on again as well - and then they never come off RIP. An attempt is MADE to get them off, but there's an...incident that involves the kasaavin which actually messes up the Doctor and Koschei's heads real bad, but also the side effect is that the kasaavin kind of gets. Fused on. So then later attempts by UNIT to get it taken off don't work. The worst part is that the Doctor and Koschei are both lowkey relieved by this, because it was something that connected them and made sure they couldn't lose each other (by this point they are horrifically codependent) but at the same time they're also freaked out by the fact that this thing is now Part of them. The mess in their heads can't be undone. Lots of fun. That, combined with the fact that, in ziptie, Koschei is directly responsible for the death of Yaz, Ryan and Graham, is..........a Lot. The Doctor is having a great time.

hmmmmmm that is soooo tough😫but its probably top 5 after mononoke, howls and spirited away. buuuut i need to rewatch it because i also rank them due to them being my comfort films so maybe the boy and the heron is objectively a better film or may become one of my super faves as a comfort film. honorable mention movies that i never hear anyone talk about that are tiered for me: pom poko and when marnie was there (i cried so bad while watching both of them)

i saw that skz are attending the met dressed in tommy 😶‍🌫️ i kinda hate the concept of the met gala, the fundraiser part is okay; but it’s the whole exclusively rich people exhibition that i absolutely don’t like yk? and there’s no real talk about the necessity of the fundraiser in the event so it’s kinda not too slay for me. (i love skz though so i’ll probs watch them walk and then stop🤣. and even it’s not too significant for me, im so aware that it is an objectively super important event so i am very proud of them for that!). i hope this doesn’t turn you off about me😪

on another note i got the funniest little pc holder! terrible pic bc we went out to eat at night. i also noticed i barely have any hyune pcs😭

HI MY BABYYYYYYYYYY I’m sorry this took to long to answer !!!! I was going THRUUU IT with the Met Gala yesterday and I was simultaneously on my phone looking at every single post that was published and trying to avoid all media bc the paparazzi were making me so mad and I was stressed 😭

I KNOWWWWW I remember armys (and moas!) camping before hobipalooza & when txt performed and I’m stressed that I’m not going to get a good spot 🤕 for Global Citizen a lot of people camped too and I got there kinda late bc I slept in but the spots we got were still pretty decent! My only issue was the PHONESSSS in the air oh my god you could not get a single pic of 3racha without a phone blocking your view… I had to stand on my tippy toes and block everyone’s view behind me to get ONE good pic and even then I never ended up getting a pic of Jungkook without phones in the way 😔 hoping the screens at Lolla are good so we don’t have to deal w the same shit
