I absolutely adore your art style! Do you have any tips? Specifically for the fairies cause I am struggling to draw them.

thank you so much! well, this is gonna be a long post.

Im gonna be real, the best art advise anyone can give you is to use references and to break complicated stuff down into easier shapes. for example:

this is my basic body skeleton! i always start with the circle of the head and work my way down to the feet. i have highlighted some part of the body which are actually just simple shapes.

the center line down the middle of the torso also helps me draw on collars, bra cups, ties, or any other more difficult clothing more accurate!

However i have to ask you, are you comfortable while you draw?

I remember when I first started drawing digital, i was really uncomfortable with the basic set up of my program. The white canvas and the light setting of the program was really bright and irritated my eyes. And the contrast of the pure black I used for drawing wasn't really helping. sketching and doing line art was my least favorite part of drawing because of this.

you don't have to draw on a white canvas, you can also use multiple colours for sketching if you wanted. Once I stoppend using a pure white canvas I noticed i stopped staring at a empty canvas not knowing what i wanted to draw anymore!

also sometimes when a drawing doesn't want to look right, i switch back to traditional. idk why but when my brain sometimes struggles with a specific pose or character design, it comes to me a lot more easier when I switch back onto paper. i guess the change of scenery opens up the creativity again haha.

don't be afraid to simplify stuff, you don't have to draw everything! As long as it still translates to the thing, it should be fine.

these two are a bit clip studio exclusive,

but Gradient maps! god how I love my gradient maps, it just makes the colours pop! I never draw without it anymore. I always pick the sunset gradient, put it in Linear light mode and put it on 10% (cus its really saturated on 100%)

usually i have it on while i sketch and line, and turn it off so i can properly colour and shade. i turn it back on at the end again

the clip studio assets has a lot of beautiful stuff in there created from other users. (a good amount for free too) for example I got the lace pattern of my shawl from there. and its really easy to import the downloaded stuff into the program.

now this is a drawing hack that blew my mind when I first saw it! i use it all the time and I just have to share this!

whenever you want to draw something random like sparkles, stars, bubbles, feathers, falling leaves, or anything that you want to float around your characters, position them in the form of a triangle.

its even better if you put two points of the triangle closer together and then the third further away. this makes it look random but still looking appealing to the eye, and not oddly placed.

now that thats out of the way! Fairies! The one thing i struggled with when drawing them first is their hair. I suggest looking through the fop tag to see how other people have drawn them and take inspiration from your favorites and make up your own. (do not trace tho! that should be obvious!)

when I draw hair I think of it separated in two parts, the front and the back. I usually start with the front hair pieces, then draw in the jaw, ears and rest of the head, then continue with the back section of the hair.

the only outliers of this are Timmy and Peri. when I draw Timmy (Ymmit as well) I start with his hat, before drawing his hair. Since I draw Peris hair-swirl over his hairline, i start drawing his upper back hair style first before drawing his head and then his mullet.

wings can also be tricky. the fairy wings i have given then have a more butterfly look. if you also want to base off the wings to real life animals or bugs you can use them flying as references to. Or you could even cut out the wing shape out of paper, fold it in the middle and take pictures in the angle you desire.

I hope this somehow helped, I thought about what could have helped me if I had known it sooner. even if most of these were for generic drawing.

HI GUYS MY FIRST ART POST

since i have no clue what kind of art to post on here yet i decided to do something fun!!!

I'll be designing and drawing every single cat in the into the wild allegiances, hopefully uploading each day! yeah im only doing into the wild (for now) cause i would like to stay alive and breathing thanks!

im gonna start explaining and babbling about the designs now,,

firepaw is TECHNICALLY not the first cat in the allegiances but come on i have to do him first he's FIREPAW. I didn't have much of a thought process for him other than mmmmm yes fire. I really wanted to add some blue to his eyes cause like, blue fire haha but i couldn't find a way to do that without making the whole design look weird.

Next is bluestar! bluestar with long hair my beloved. i tried to make her as BLUE as possible without making your eyes burn off, but she is VERY BLUE

Now for redtail! this one was a bit more tricky to be honest, i wasn't too sure of what to do because, i sorta forgot how i perceived redtail lmao?? most of what i was thinking while designing him was.....hmm spottedleaf brother...... of course he has his signature red tail, and i wanted to give him that sort of calico kinda hair color, like how people dye their hair to be calico yeah i was going for that. like he dyed his hair but it's actually just like that.

And lastly, spottedleaf! i think you all can clearly see the neapolitan inspiration here lol. I was thinking of how i was gonna design her, and a lightbulb lit up above my head and went ICE CREAM ICE CREAAMMM so here's neapolitan spottedleaf! i also this these colors make her look like she smells good which is a trait of hers i guess, like look at that cat and tell me she doesnt look like she smells like vanilla and strawberries and chocolate. I also made an effort to have spottedleaf and redtail to resemble or mirror eachother! that'll probably become a pattern with the siblings I'll be designing.

also side note, literally i drew these with a pencil on paper, lined it with black paint and a stiff paintbrush and THEN transferred the drawing into ibispaint. just wanted to put it out there...heh... probably one of my new favorite ways of drawing ever.

I'm gonna be using the #into the wild allegiances to tag all of these in case you wanna find them all later.

FOR Suklha's MBTI, i was thinking she's more like INTJ? Considering i accidentally made her more passive and behind the scene planning instead of Leading and being Extroverted. In the LMK verse, I've preferred to make her more introverted and keep things to herself. A workaholic who likes to invite people into her estate and use a fake name to order ramen to hide herself is VERY introvert coded to me. She has a social battery, just good at masking it. Suklha's Hobbies

Thank you for asking about her hobbies!! She actually has a few, she loves to do bodycare a lot!! Like she would spend a minimum of an hour to properly shower herself, and a maximum of three to do her "Everything" shower. It's exhausting, STRENUOUS, in fact. But she can't help the proudful feeling of finally being clean and smell good! If you went to her house and check her personal bathroom, theres a whole wall full of body scrubs and body moisturizer. Her main body soap is a PERFUMED one.

Also, centipedes are avid cleaner who groom every time they eat, mostly when stressed.

Besides that, she has a thing for Fish watching?? Not sure if thats a real word but basically, Suklha would sit for HOURS just to watch any fish swim mindlessly. It helps her mind. Also, it's satisfying. Definitely a hobby that anyone besides Wukong and the Red lady doesn't know, being silent and emptyheaded is her way of showing vulnerability. So only few people know of this hobby of her.

Hikaru Hitachiin x Male Reader

When Hikaru heard about someone graffiting the school he wasn't surprised. He knew people get bored. When they get bored they do something to get unbored. So he wasn't surprised. No what surprised him was how much detail was in it. It was of a forrest. Trees, bushes, and a trail. He had seen some of the graffiti on his way to the club.

He could tell the person who made this was really into art. This type of detail took time and skill. Such skill that he knows took years to have. He remembers asking his mom how she got so good at designing and drawing the clothing she makes. "Time and effort. I've been drawing for as long as I can remember." Drawing never caught either twins attention.

But Hikaru always had an eye for detail. At least that's what his mother always told him. When he heard the graffiti artist hit again he brushed it off again. He had more important things to do. At least that's what he thought until he actually saw it. The graffiti art this time was Koi fish. The way the artist had made them looked like actual koi fish.

When the artist sticked a 3rd time Hikaru was excited to see what was drawing this time. This time the artist had graffitied the wall outside the club room. This time it was a beach with a beautiful sunset. Hikaru could stare at the artwork for hours. He took out his phone and snapped a photo. He should've tooken pictures of the other two.

A week later Hikaru was taking a walk out in the rose garden behind the school. It was peaceful. The only thing you could hear was the sounds of birds chirping and spray paint-wait. Hikaru froze. Spray painting? The graffiti artist! Hikaru hurred towards the noise. He had to know who was the artist. When he arrived he saw what was the most amazing artwork he'd seen yet.

It was of a single rose. The rose was covered in thorns. Ivy surrounded it. It wasn't finished yet but it was already breath taking. He heard a can shaking. When he turned he saw a (height) tall male. With (color) hair and eyes. He was (short/tall) for someone Hikaru's age but....he was breath taking too. He could see how bright the males eyes are.

How happy he looks spray painting. Hikaru released a breath he didn't know he was holding. The males head snapped in Hikaru's direction and he froze. Eyes wide with fear. He'd been caught. The male grabbed the bag that was by the wall and took off. Leaving a can of red spray paint. Hikaru tried calling out to him but the male already disappeared.

Hikaru picked up the can and on the side written in black fancy letters was (N. Last Name). Hikaru nodded his head. He now had a mission but first. Hikaru looked up at the wall. He had a piece to finish. Hikaru shook the can and got to work. Finishing the rose. Looking around once in a while to see if anyone had came out.

Half an hour later Hikaru heard foot steps and froze. He whipped his head around only to see the guy from earlier with a blush on his face as he stared at the wall. "Y-You finished it?" Hikaru nodded with a smile. "Yeah. I'm a pretty big fan of your work. I thought such art didn't deserve to go unfinished. I'm not as good as you, but my mom always told me I had an eye for details."

The guys nodded and looked away and took a deep breath. "Thank you. I'm (Name). (Last Name) (Name.)" He stuck out his hand. Which was covered in green spray paint. Hikaru smiled brightly and grabbed his hand. "Hitachiin Hikaru. Nice to meet you (Last Name)." Hikaru looked at their joined hands and laughed. They were both covered in spray paint. (Name) looked down and join in the laughing.

"We might wanna go and clean ourselves before we're caught." Hikaru nodded. "Yeah. Although I'm kinda screwed. I have club in about an hour and I don't have an extra uniform on me." (Name) looked shyly to the side. "You can have my extra uniform. It's in my locker. It's by the host club room." Hikaru's face lit up. "That's my club!"

(Name) looked surprised before smiling brightly. "I have a close friend in th club! Kyoya!" Hikaru froze. Perfect student Kyoya was friends with the graffiti artist? (Name) knew the look Hikaru was giving him causing him to laugh again. "We're neighbors. He knows about the whole graffiti thing. He's the one who gave me permission to graffiti the wall outside the club room!" Hikaru was even more shocked. Kyoya gave him permission?

"It gave him more customers." Hikaru nodded. That sounds like Kyoya. "Hey you did a good job finishing my piece. We should graffiti together again sometime." Hikaru smiled and nodded. "I'd love to make more art with you." (Name)'s face exploded with heat. Hikaru looked confused before he remembered what he said. "W-Wait! Not like that!" (Name) shook his head and laughed harder and Hikaru joined in.

Maybe in the future (Name) could help Hikaru with the family business. If they're still close by then at least. Hikaru blushed at his thought. Yeah...maybe one day.

I woke up to the screeching of my alarm at 7:30 am letting me know I have to get up to go to school, I sit up and see my cat stretching and yawning as it seems it also awoke to my alarm.

Groaning I get up and start getting ready for the day, thankful that it's a Friday for one reason it's the weekend and the other is that I go to the bars open mic nights. I've made good friends with the regulars already.

As I'm brushing my hair I hear the honking of Steve's car outside my house.

"Shit shit shit shit shit!"

Running out barefoot with only socks on, my bag over my shoulder and my sneakers in my hand I get in the backseat of his car.

"Hey nance!"  I greet Nancy

"Morning y/n!" Steve and Nancy reply in sync

"Well aren't you a lovely disaster this morning" Steve teases

"Fuck you i had to shower " I reply laughing

As we pull up to the school I managed to pull myself together and not look homeless.

Last night wasn't one of the best. My mother suffers from a handful of mental illness one of those being bipolar disorder and there are times where she can hate my guts and other times where she acts like nothing happened, she's had one of her episodes last night and screamed at me for my room being messy and threw my mirror at me making it shatter into a million pieces.

On Monday we got a new student his name was billy and he came from California. What is he doing here? I have to fucking idea. We didn't exactly have the best first interactions I guess? On his first day he's befriended Tommy and his group. Unfortunately for me I wasn't my nicest looking as the night before I had another argument with my mom which led to her kicking me out of the house so I went to school the next morning red eyes and a messy bun.

Monday morning

When I arrived on school on Monday Tommy and his group were staring at me. Im popular but not how you think. I don't have a large group of friends nor am I rich. Through all the hate I received throughout my childhood I have made a promise to never give hate no matter how much I receive. I don't have 𝑩𝒂𝒅 𝒃𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅 with anyone in this school. At least not that I know of.

"Hey y/l/n you good?" I hear carol ask

I turn to look her way and see her friends and the new kid staring at me

"Uh- yeah, just hard night, you know" I replied

Present time

Me Nancy and Steve walked into the school and going out separate ways as we all the different classes, I head to my seat in the back of the class and start doodling in my journal watching the class fill up as the bell rings.

Keeping my eyes on my journal I see someone out of the corner of my eye take the desk next to me.

"Hey y/l/n" i hear the voice of billy say as I look up

"Hey, morning" I reply smiling

I'm enjoying the time we spend talking until some girl next to him gets his attention by whining his name and then proceeds to ask him out.

Slightly upset that he chose to ignore me I turn my attention to the window showing the outside track by the gym.

This class period is one of the longest classes I have being 3 hours long so that gives me time to work on random things, I've been writing this song since last week labeling it "mirrorball" as mirrorball was the original name of a ball covered in shattered pieces of a mirror before getting the name "disco ball" as they were used in the 70s at discos

While finishing last minute things on the song I see billy look at my journal through the corner of my eye.

Quickly not sparing him a glance I close my journal just in time as the bell rings and being the first one out of the class

"Y/n!" I hear billy yell

Turning around I reply "hey?"

"Sorry about earlier uh yeah " he says scratching his neck

"Why?"

Changing into my outfit for tonight it's a flowy purple dress with ruffles and bell sleeves pretty much giving a hippie fairy is what I hoping for

Matchup For Joey!

This is my second matchup so bare with me if things are wrong. For the most part, I hope you enjoy!

Hacker:Akudama Drive

The two of you met within a group mission, both being crucial parts that needed to work together, but Hacker wasn't for the idea of working along with someone else and worked on his own things in quiet. When the mission began going south, he started to realize that he was going to need to work together even if it was out of his comfort zone.

After a few hours, Hacker began to realize that you were pretty good at what you're doing and that your work was actually useful. Shocking to most, he chooses to stay connected after the mission just in case he needs help with something. But, secretly he wants to hang out more and he thinks that you're cute… you didn't hear that from me though.

Once a year passes by, Hacker finally gets the courage to ask you out on a date, now knowing a lot about you. His preferred date night is inside, maybe watching a movie or playing a new game together. Of course if you're interested in going out somewhere, he would find some way into getting a reservation (likely hacking into the resturants database and adding a reservation in) for an expensive dinner and then taking you out to see the stars.

Hacker's not into PDA, maybe if the two of you are dating for a while he'll start feeling more comfortable but for the most part he's keeping to himself.

I feel like both of your styles would go good together, especially some of the goth ones. Hacker wouldn't be into matching outfits, but he would try and wear something similar whether it be the color or the pattern. The two of you would share music back and forth with each other, possibly even have a shared playlist for all of your guys' music. He would play music and dance around the room when he got finished with a super hard code or mission, almost like a victory dance,

Hacker would act like he didn't care about your interests and the things you ramble about, but deep down he's making sure to hear every word and remember it

An average day between the two of you is hanging out in a dark room and working on things you both enjoy, Hacker would be working on some sort of code and would ask for some advice on how to make it better.

After some time being together, I feel like Hacker would open up about his thoughts about something else being out there and how he dreams of reaching it. From that point forward, he starts opening up more to you about his insecurities and the fear of nothing actually being out there.

Kouichi Shindou: HoriMiya

You met Kouichi from your mutual friend, Miyamura, who introduced the two of you in junior high school. You weren't sure how to feel about him, but that all changed when you got to see the side of him around Miyamura, sticking up for him and helping him become a better person. Some time had gone by and the two of you were now in high school, except the two of you didn't go to the same high school. He went to another school nearby in order to get his life set together, which you're happy about until the news of him repeating his second year went around. You made sure to never let him live it down.

Valentines had rolled around and Miyamura and you were on your way home when the sounds of girls squealing were heard nearby. Across from them, the ginger haired boy tried to leave the big crowds of girls who waited for him to accept their gifts.

Watching the interaction between the two, a new feeling bursted within as you stomped over through the crowd of people. Grabbing Kouichi's arm, you drag him away from the crowd bringing him to your dorm not sure what to do next. Talking, he begins to question why you brought him to your house and away from those people, in which you let split that you felt jealous and didn't want him to receive valentines from other people

Once the secret was revealed, the two of you agreed to go out with each other and soon enough a relationship was born.

Date nights with Kouichi are outside in calming areas where he can feel free to be himself without the screaming girls always behind him. He once took you to a flower field filled with all sorts of flowers, along with your favorite. The two of you then had a picnic and stared at the stars when nightfall hit embracing the comfort of each other.

Takashi Morinozuka: Ouran High School Host Club

You accidentally ran into them when the group was going to the market and Honey-senpal had gotten lost needing help to find his friend. Lucky for him, you happened to be there to help and with a little bit of searching the two of you found his friends who were panically searching for their friends.

Enjoying your company, Honey-senpai wanted to keep in touch and invite you to one of his many tea parties with all of his sweets. Accepting the invite, that was how you met the blonde's best friend, Mori-senpai.

You weren't sure about him not knowing much about him considering that he didn't talk much and preferred to listen, but he won you over when Tamaki was in one of his moods and was throwing pillows around the host club. He got so angry that he threw one extremely hard your way, but before it could hit you Mori-Senpai caught it, saving your life.

From then on, the two of you became closer and soon enough a date is arranged between the two of you, plus honey of course. All of you went to a dessert cafe and had a blast, especially honey who ended up having a stomach ache after leading to Mori carrying him home, but that allowed the two of you to have some time alone.

Your guys' relationship was good besides the constant girls from the host club, but Mori and the host club members always made sure to stick up for you when one of them tried to tear you down.

Your relationship is usually spent with Honey and the host club, but there are some small chances when the two of you get to be alone, but it doesn't happen much. When the two of you are together, Mori-senpai listens about your day and makes sure to note everything that's said when you're rambling. He's a good listener and can memorize anything your saying. You mention something you want? He's already planning to get it. You had a bad day? He's planning to make it better.

Definitely boyfriend material and father material, I mean we have seen the way he acts around Honey.

So Im in love with the new chapter! Ik and the exchange students are making a list to do before the exchange program ends is such a cute idea and a good way to tie the story with a beautiful bow. Love Ik's relatable hatred of having hair styles that makes you want to pull it out (⁠•⁠‿⁠•⁠) (My hair would be styled so tight that it made little me HATE having my hair styled and it was one of my main reasons on having short hair) I cackled so hard on seeing Ik's list that she wants to spray Lucifer with a water gun which is frickin funny (and adding to Lucifer's reaction-) along with Satan and Belphie's mutual "wtf" moment with Ik when she said it was all a dream.

Also AHHHH THIRTEEN MY LOVE ily, so is she actually working at the haunted house or what? I know she said she wasn't supposed to be there but the fact she knows like the workers makes me think otherwise (although I think that's how she got in without being labeled a guest?)

The new chapter is overall so fun and just so wholesome <3. But it kinda has a bittersweet vibe through out it yk? I mean meta and in story, like Ik's time in Devildom is coming to an end, the same thing with our time with the fic is about to end as this was an amazing journey. So my hc is that the slender mansion is like an actual place and is like the creepypasta base of operations.

Slenderman is the boss and he gives them orders that they follow in exchange for food and shelter and keeping them alive way past their expiration date lolz

Slender man is also the one who gave them super natural powers (faster healing, agility, precision, the things that make them essentially invincible) and caused them to go kinda cookoo bananas. So he isn't very close with any of the creepypasta and they resent him.

Jeff the killer and jane the killer are ALWAYS attacking each other but also somehow best friends. There was an incident where jeff ate janes leftover Chinese takeout, even though there was her name on it. In response jane broke a chair over his head, screamed at him for an hour and a half pushed him out the window when he tried to run away and made him vomit it out by force feeding him salt water.

2 hours later they made a gas station run together because they ran out of poptarts.

Nina never really got over her thing for jeff which made things in the group a little awkward at first, but its now just something that they use against her as a joke.

Jeff: oh yeah i just clipped my bangs

You got…Hantengu!

Honestly, your punk style looked very scary to him at first, you seemed like someone who would intimidate others or be generally unkind, but he was very surprised when you just called out to him asking if he needed help because he was shaking.

Later he found out in the late night you thought he was a lost old man, and not a demon, but the kindness of the action was still very touching after the many decades he had faced being 'attacked' by everyone around him.

You are very rough around the edges, but Hantengu appreciates that it isn't most often towards him. Even after you found out he was a demon, you seemed to just think it was cool more than bothersome and continued hanging around him when he wasn't on a mission.

It didn't take long to meet his clones, of which were far more akin to you. Karaku thought your style was 'sick as fuck' and would probably steal a spiked collar from you. Urogi enjoys your jokes and dark humour, which he shares very deeply and will sometimes get into contests with you about who can make the darkest joke.

Sekido and you tend to sit in deafening silence until he tries to speak which usually ends with you mocking him and him taking it seriously and ending up in a heated debate with you. He thinks you are very passionate, and on a few times has actually lost to you.

Aizetsu is much like Hantengu in that he appreciates when you stand up for him when the other clones poke at him, though he has gotten sombre if you ever aim your harsh words at him, he knows you don't mean it and tries to poke back the best he can.

They have all the time in the world to give you, and you can expect large cuddle piles with the group. You won't see the clones often, but Hantengu makes sure to take good care of you in their absence.

Authors Note - Hantengu is one of those characters I have a hard time matching people up with, btu when I read yours I knew INSTANTLY so I hope that says something! I get sad because I like Hantengu and his clones but so many ppl leave to ol;d guy out so I hope you like him as I do :[ Thank you for requesting!

ok so (this is a lighting tutorial not a rendering tutorial btw) here's my Ten Step (not) Program For Achieving Strawberry Soda Floatness

i actually usually start with pretty normal/true to reference colors bc i often don't have incredibly intense, neon lighting. however, im gonna be using the mari piece i just finished to demo, where i wanted to pinkify the drawing from the start.

here are some of the base colors (skin, hair, shirt): as you can see even the white shirt leans into saturation/color, and they're all kept around the red/pink area.

ok so here (skipping about 15 steps) i already did the rendering using a color shifting method where instead of using multiply or directly lowering the luminosity (?) i shift the hue closer to the blue/purple category and decrease luminosity + slightly up saturation of the color. so like, on mari's skin you can see that the shadows are pink and purple rather than like. orange or something.

for the background i filled it with a lightish pink color and used the sunset gradient tool on a 30-50% opacity to establish the light source.

alright, here's where the fun begins.

i started off by using an overlay layer (later lowered to 28%, but just use whatever looks good) on the darker colors where the light would shine the brightest. this layer originally included highlights on the face and shirt as well, but i took those off bc the yellow on dark colors looks like an orange and the yellow on lighter colors looks like a fucking highlighter.

first i added a sort of reflected/second light source of this fun little pink on soft light. i did 2 layers bc 1 wasn't bright enough for me. then on the lighter areas i added white highlights. important little tip: when i pick colors for overlays i usually use yellow as the primary light source, pink as a midtones/secondary light source, and blue or purple as the shadows. however, this is not a rule, just an example:

in this drawing i have blue as the light source & red as the shadow. my tips for picking colors to overlay with: most programs/devices have an option for you to turn off the saturation. whichever color looks lightest is often best for the highlights. you can obviously change the brightness but yeah just make sure your highlights aren't darker than your shadows

apologies for the inconsistent opacities, you get the idea. so i would like to make a disclaimer here that for my hxhbb piece (left) i used only one direct lighting overlay, which was the yellow. the amount of those overlays i use per piece varies. anyways i added a lighter green as a substitute for the white highlights on the darker colors

lil bit of a secret sauce: on an overlay layer i airbrushed yellow onto roughly half of her and pink on the other side. unifies the colors + lighting and just looks cool

okay now here's how to actually strawberry soda float-ify your art (sorry lol that was just background info):

the sunset gradient map is your best friend here. you can really just fuck around with any gradient maps, doesn't really matter. now you can also change the brightness, contrast, saturation, etc. what i usually do is up the saturation & luminosity together: +50 saturation and +25-50 luminosity. experiment with blending modes and opacities and shit

when you're done, uhh, congratulations. the gradient maps are really carrying the entire thing the yellow and white lighting is just to torture myself with

i could go on. but can you tell which one im talking about? because i cant. they r essentially the exact same character only kane is older, taller, more muscular, more skilled, higher ranked auror, etc,. it seems as though most of your female audience is in love with harry or in love with kane and no one notices how similar they are. but as a sirius girl myself i view it more objectively. its not a bad thing i just noticed and want to know why you essentially copied and pasted a character in a slightly different font. kane seems like a gay, upgraded version of harry in my opinion. is it supposed to serve as a parallel between ginny weasley and theodores notts characters? i enjoy analyzing literature and its hidden meanings so i just want to know if this is intentional in your fanfiction

p.s the epilogues are great i really enjoy reading them

I do think Harry and Sebastian have a lot of similarities, yes, but I do not consider Bas to be Harry 2.0 at all. Both tall with dark hair and nice eyes really isn't saying much as I can personally list five people I know like that. Harry's eyes are green, Bas's are blue. Bas is lazy with his stubble and hates shaving, but doesn't have a beard. Harry keeps a stubble beard. Muscular and fit is part of their jobs. I think most people tend to have a trio when it comes to friends so to me that makes sense. Bas is highly skilled and powerful because it's his job, but he's not as powerful as Harry by any means. Yes, there are a lot of similarities, but he's very different from Harry and Ginny and Theo are a bit similar but that's what draws them together as best friends.

You can analyze all you want, but I can promise you, no author writes with the intention of their work being analyzed in that fashion. I've never once written something and thought "I wrote that their eating spaghetti but someone is going to see that symbolizes the need for comfort due to blah blah blah" which I always found funny when taking English class in school. It wasn't intentional for me to make them similar and while I do see similarities between the two characters, there are a lot of things you listed above as being a bit reaching in my opinion.

But I find it fascinating that you think so.

Nobody truly gets it like you do

I vividly remember the first time I was self conscious about my body.

I was in middle school. I was down a gravel road with woods on one side and my neighbor's house on the other. My mom was with me. We were going to go see my grandpa who lived a five minute walk from my house.

My mom pointed at me out of nowhere, and said I had a "muffin top". My stomach bulged out over the top of my jeans. I didn't know why she felt the need to point that out, or comment on my body, but suddenly I wanted to hide my stomach and my shirt wasn't long enough to do it.

Up until she moved out west, which was when I went off to college, my mom had been fat. That was just a simple fact. She was strict in some ways and became one of my best friends when I was in high school. She had a silly and adorable laugh, and a white streak in her hair from a stressful event that I won't get into. She had a dark sense of humor at times and was as sarcastic as they came. She was beautiful. She was fat.

I vividly remember how my brother and all of his friends would say the most vile things about her because of her fatness, and how that drilled into me that the world was cruel about weight. It still upsets me, because my mom wasn't perfect but she deserved so much better than that.

There's some post or blog or something, whatever, that I read once that said "Your first thought is what you were taught, and your second thought is how you actually feel" - something along those lines. And how your ingrained, learned thought can be corrected if you do it enough. I had to correct myself for Years after that because my first thoughts were not kind. I never said anything out loud and I hated that my thoughts could be so cruel, and I fought to be kinder to myself and others over their looks.

I weigh more now than I ever have, and I can love myself not only because of my own efforts but because there are others out there who love fat people. Because there are fat people out there who fight against the stigmas and the cruelty. Because there are people who create art and write stories of fat people, and because there are people who love art and stories about them too.

At the end of the day, it's art and stories that are so human and real to me. It's making a point to the cruel people who said nasty things about my mother. It's the child in me arguing back that yeah, I have a muffin top, and I'm fucking adorable. And it's me telling my brother to shut his damn mouth because I was too much of a coward to say it back then.
