This Week In BL - These Are the Days of Our BLs

Aug 2023 Wk 2

Being a highly subjective assessment of one tiny corner of the interwebs. Organized by which ones (in each category) I’m enjoying most.

Ongoing Series - Thai

Laws of Attraction (Sat iQIYI) 5 of 8 - They cute making heart eyes at each other, but could we get back to punching & slutty silk shirts? OMG the poor rich kid & the bodyguard who wants to hug him SO BAD are KILLING me. I did giggle & yell “punchy punchies” during the fight scene before the fire. But Charn is a diamond-encrusted evil-gorgeous gremlin beastie, isn’t he?

Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 1 of 10 - NO SINGING, but also.. wristbands! Sand is great = smart, snappy & over this shit. (Tired Gay 2.0) Neo & Mark are a revelation, where’d that chemistry come from? Force playing a douchenozzle is damn delight. Plus a counter lift in the first ep? Boys, you’re spoiling me. Mew is the least interesting, but Book is still adorable. Ray is the least likable character, but since it’s Khao, he’s the most likable screen presence. In fact, I’m enjoying all the messy messy gays & I know all their types IRL. I wish we had some femme & swish rep tho. Is this Thailand’s Queer as Folk? Seems like. Is it good? Not sure. But it is FUN as hell. Still, I gotta say it… they all dance like straight boys.

Hidden Agenda that isn’t hidden (Sun GMMTV YouTube) ep 5 of 10 - Zo just wants to turtle & avoid but Joke is not gonna allow that. GMMTV keeps having sub issues (usually fixed within a few days).

Low Frequency (Sat iQIYI) ep 6 of 8 - I do like the psychic gay detective trope. It makes this show more interesting and enjoyable. But they solved the mystery awful fast. I guess different drama spins the final 2 eps?

Be My Favorite (Fri YouTube) ep 12fin - It was fine. I was fine with it. A kind of Vice Versa situation. The usual with Jittirain, as it turns out, is pretty simple: one of her main characters is going to be a manipulative liar or extremely unlikeable or both. It got an 8/10 from me, but probably should get a 7/10 just because I’m so exhausted by this. But I have to be fair and judge each BL on its own & not in light of repeat author mistakes. Not much of a trash watch here. Final full review here.

Dinosaur Love (Sun iQIYI) ep 7 of 10 eps - Boyfriend trip together. Terrible overalls. What the fuck? No. Meanwhile, perfect choice for college star. (Could Ton please lead out a new BL? I know I’m 0 for 2 with him but I’m willing to try again if he is.) I actually enjoyed this installment for a change. Perhaps “enjoy” is too strong a word. Not much happened, dog days of BL, perhaps that’s a good thing with Dino?

Be Mine Super Star (Mon Viki) ep 6 of 12 - Mostly I was excited to watch this week because of Ben but there wasn’t much of him. Sadness. OK, I know it has STIFF competition but does this show have the worst music in BL, or is it just me? I still like Big Daddy & Hot Doc as characters but I am despairing over their arc (would we call it an arc?). All in all this week... Whatever.

Wedding Plan (Weds YT & iQIYI) ep 4 of 7 - I am officially being driven to drink. Trash watch is happening!

Ongoing Series - Not Thai

Jun & Jun (Korea Thurs Viki) 4 of 8 - This show makes me laugh so much. It is so damn cute. And there’s so much language play going on. THEN . . . JUST ADD SIMON. I love a good Simon. Who doesn’t love a good Simon? I know SO MANY Simons. Now 3 boys are circling the ingénue (who I suspect is less innocent than he appears). So much delightful competition, postering & flirting. “My Jun,” is he, Simon? You are a precious angular stalk man, aren’t you? Pacing is great with this show. Every week I can’t wait for the next installment, that’s a hallmark of the best KBLs. If the language stuff confused you as much as it did me here is an EXCELLENT post on the subject that will help.

Stay By My Side (Taiwan Fri Gaga) 7 of 10 eps - Sweetest seme. He’s hurt & mad at his boy but still can’t help taking care of him. I do like the courting with snacks & sweet little notes. (It’d work on me.) YAY! Reunion kisses & nuzzles!!! Snuggling!!!! Gah! Taiwan, I love you. These 2 aren’t your best kissers but their cuddling is off the charts. I guess we are just gonna be plotless messy gay bfs for the final 3 eps? That’s cool with me.

Sing My Crush (Korea Weds iQIYI) 3-4 of 8 eps - it’s adorable, they’re adorable, I’m enjoying it a whole lot. It’s like a very soft, low-stakes Addicted.

Love Class Season 2 (Korea Fri Viki) 10 eps - I liked Love Class 1 (more than most on Tumblr) & I normally don’t want 2nd seasons. But this has an entirely new cast (in the “Replay” model). I’m fine with a 2nd season that has little or nothing to do with the first. J-min is an interesting choice of idols but he’s doing an unexpectedly good job. (He is a truly great rapper, by the way.) Trigger warnings out the gate... also this is complicated. Ready? We got 3 queer besties: artist gay Hyun (J-min), shy cafe gay Minwoo (in love with), sunshine gym bunny bi slut Maru (represent, my brother). Then we got Mr Put-upon-TA (+ boy who saw him nekid). And the twist = all black otaku Kim An (used to tutor artist gay in high school = exes ghosting DRAMA). This last reads as a hyung romance. Which you know I love. But it also feels v dark. All of which is to say, I am intrigued but a little nervous over the tone.

My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 1 of 8 - Classic JBL is back! This one is My Beautiful Man + Tokyo in April/Oh My Assistant. It’s odd and warped af but I like it. Very much has a the feel of old live action yaoi + VERY D/s. BRING IT JAPAN.

Minato's Laundromat Season 2 AKA Minato Shouji Coin Laundry Season 2 (Japan Thu Gaga) 6 of 12 eps - Shin is my sweet bean sprout and Minato should just boink him. Why all this waffling? I love the doctor. But mostly I’m as frustrated with this show as Shin must be in general. Minato 2- the season of blue balls.

Stay Still (Hong Kong Tues YouTube) 2 of 5 eps - I re-watched the first 2 eps & now find it a bit more comprehensible (yes 2: there is an ep 0). I don’t think we can expect this to end happy for either couple. It’s kinda sticky & grungy (in a way I’ve come to expect from the Philippines, although this is not as cluttered visually nor as brightly colored as the Pinoy stuff). I do kind of like that lived-in feeling, it reminds me of Taiwanese shorts. There is something very honestly queer about the primary leads (tattoo & babyface) in particular the way they dance queer? around each other: verbally, emotionally & physically - laying down breadcrumbs of gay for the other to follow. The secondary couple (reunion, cheating) is very sad. Although I do love a counter lift make-out sesh. (Occasionally Cantonese sounds like Vietnamese to me. Apparently I am not alone in this.)

Gossip - AKA P’ABL is Disappointed

I was gonna put a statement here but I just did it separately, earlier this week, since my ask box was overflowing regarding actor gossip and other stuff.

Meanwhile, Stay With Me ended exactly as expected. Can’t say I didn’t warn ya. You watched this anyway? You got what was coming to you. I am entirely unsympathetic.

8/18 Dangerous Romance (Thai Fri GMMTC YT) 12 eps - Perth returns to lead out a BL, odds on that ever happening were slim. (Let alone Chimon.) Still here we are. Interesting times. Chimon plays a poor studious kid who hates the school bully but is forced to become his private tutor. Lurv results.

8/19 Love in Translation (Thai Sat One31) 10 eps - Two strangers start working in a cafe together. Looks very pulp. No idea on international distribution.

8/19 I Feel You Linger in the Air (Thai Sat Gaga) 12 eps - The time travel historical romance many of us have been waiting for. Adaption of y-novel by Violet Rain. Heartbroken architect is transported to the 1930s. From the producers of Lovely Writer.

8/20 My Universe series (Thai Sun iQIYI) 24 eps - This is sampler pack BL, 12 pairs, each pair gets 2 eps, not sure on the order they’ll drop. Known couples include EarthBank from Destiny Seeker and KaownahTurbo from Love Stage!!!, fresh faces otherwise. Jane to direct.

8/22 Kisseki: Dear to Me formerly known as Miracle (Taiwan Tues ????) 13 eps - From screenwriter Lin Pei Yu (We Best Love, H3: Trapped) features a student doctor forced to take care of a gangster. I love the premise and like the writer, Viki or Gaga will get this one.

8/23 Why R U? (Korean remake iQIYI) is supposed to be out this month, filming started in sept 22. I find everything about this hilarious. I mean if Korea remakes it, we lose all the sexy and then... would we have a story at all? No we would not. Not even for six short eps. It’d be like one of those mesh shopping bags.

8/24 Man Suang (Thailand movie, domestic cinema release) - historical drama about Thai burlesque with KP’s MileApo.

thots on the great gatsby bway musical

let’s get right into it

-i liked it more than i thought i would. i saw boston gatsby back in june and after reading a lot of negative stuff about the one on broadway i thought i’d hate it but i went anyway because i am still not immune to jeremy jordan. but it was solid. i liked it.

-great chemistry between eva noblezada and jeremy jordan. also in the last scene of act 1 gatsby wears light pink and daisy wears light blue and i thought that was neat.

-really good dance numbers. watching jeremy jordan honest to god dance was like watching the big bang

-HATED how they paired jordan and nick as a romantic couple. i know they go on some days in the book but it’s so fake and loveless. nick is jordan’s gbf and jordan is nick’s lbf and you can’t take that away from me!!! ESPECIALLY after i saw boston gatsby!!!

-samantha pauly and alex prakken did great though - i have no complaints about the actors only the script.

-i had no problem with how george wilson is portrayed - all im saying is that his songs are definitely the to break in a glove of is show if you get what im saying

-didn’t like how they turned mr mckee into a sex pest creeping out poor heterosexual nick (and also into a weird joke about opened relationships??? like hello???)

-jeremy jordan’s translantic accent was cute.

-really liked how they did the pool.

-really like the ending - the ending of boston gatsby felt more hopeful while this one felt more cynical and both of them work in the context of the book.

overall i felt like boston gatsby was more earnest while broadway gatsby was more ironic - and both tones work fine! still think boston is the superior of the two tho

alright so now im gonna rant a little. i am pro-bootleg. i understand that bootlegs have given shows new life and have allowed them to prosper in ways they wouldn’t have been able to without bootlegs. i understand that nyc being a train ride away from me is a privilege few have and that a bootleg is very often the only way someone can experience a show. i am, however, anti coming in fifteen minutes late with your entire militia literally as soon as jeremy jordan makes his first entrance and taking videos and pictures while you’re in the second row (there’s a reason so many bootlegs are filmed from the balcony). in the beginning of the tea party scene where jeremy jordan’s the only person onstage i saw one of them take a picture of him and it made me really mad about how the damn phones have ruined the way we experience art and tainted the relationships of those who give us it - how we view them as products instead of artists or in this case performers.

to end this post on a positive note the stagedoor was a lot chiller than i had imagined it would be. i had brought one of my copies of the great gatsby from home for them to sign and everyone that came out did. by the time jeremy jordan came over i had mustered up the courage to ask them to sign it instead of awkwardly holding it out to them (eva noblezada and samantha pauly i am sooooooooooooooooooo sorry) and he said “i’ll sign your book!” and signed it so now my life’s kinda complete ig

he holds a pencil like a fucking freak I don’t make the rules, also left handed so the actual act of writing is generally Hard and when he has to properly focus on spelling he struggles a lot

oscar broke the mirror after that and morris kept a little piece to still see his reflection, remind him who he is when he feels himself getting hopeful, even though he hates it

“Is there something going on? You can’t stop moving.”

“It’s nothing, don’t worry. Just that the moment we got into the car, someone decided to have a dance party. And since being 8 months pregnant isn’t uncomfortable enough…”

“People can’t say that that isn’t my baby” Mason says with a big smile.

“Yeah…” I say, trying to find a comfortable position. “But I can’t wait to arrive at Leah’s house and lay on the sofa.��

“Poor Leah. She organizes a nice dinner for us, and you are planning on taking a nap.”

“I’m not gonna nap, I’m just gonan rest.”

“Yes, of course” he chuckles.

“Wait… was that my dad’s car?” I ask when we make it to Leah’s street.

“Nah, I don’t think so. Why would he be here?”

“True. But that… that’s Ben’s car” I say pointing at one parked in front of her house. “I would recognize those ugly yellow stripes everywhere. Why is he here?”

“I told him we were coming, so maybe he asked Leah if he could come too” Mason says, focused on finding a parking spot.

“It still is a bit odd, tho.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know… It’s this feeling I have.”

“Maybe you just need to pee.”

“Mason!” I say, hitting him on the arm.

“Careful, gorgeous. I’m driving.”

“We have stopped. And you deserve it” I say, getting rid of my seatbelt and opening the door’s car.

“Your coat.”

“What?”

“Put your coat on, I don’t want you getting a cold.”

“But we are just crossing the street.”

“I don’t care” Mason says, holding my coat for me. “C’mon.”

“You are being pretty annoying. Cute, but annoying” I say, letting him help me with put it on.

“And that’s why you love me” he says, giving me that smile I adore so much.

“I hope the baby has your dimple.”

“Just that? I have many other amazing features.”

“You do. But that one is my favourite.”

“Bathroom. Now” I say the moment we walk into Leah’s house.

“Told you that was the weird feeling you had” Mason says behind me, trying not to laugh.

“Why are you smiling like that?”

“How?”

“Like... that” I say, pointing at this face. “That’s the smile you have when you...”

“Surprise!” Leah says when we walk into the living room. It’s not just she and Ben waiting for us. Our other closest friends and their partners are there too. And so are my parent’s, Mason’s, his siblings… Even Summer, who is holding some balloons with baby motives.

“I knew you were hiding something from me, your smile was giving it away!” I say to Mason. “But what is this?”

“Definitely not a babyshower” Leah says. “I know you don’t like them, so this is just all of us getting together one last time before the little one arrives. A gathering like you like calling them.”

“Please tell me you didn’t buy personalized cakes.”

“Nope, just basic cupcakes.”

“No games?”

“Well… Maybe one. But it isn’t a cheesy one, I promise. And it is needed.”

“Ok…”

“Are you mad?” Mason asks me.

“No, no. Just… surprised. I wasn’t expecting this” I say, starting to get emotional. Damn you, hormones.

“Don’t cry, untie!” Summer says, coming to hug me. “We are celebrating the baby, see?” she says, looking at the balloons. “And I made you a drawing.”

“Did you?”

“Yes!” she says, running to where her mum is. “This is you, this is uncle Mase, and that’s the baby.”

“I love it, Summer. Thank you very much.”

“But no more crying.”

“I’ll try.”

“Oh, those must be our last guests” Leah says when someone rings the bell.

“Who is missing?” I say, looking around.

“¡Sorpresa!” Sandra says, walking into the living room. She, and some of my teammates at Real Madrid.

“What are you guys doing here?” I say, hugging them all at the same time.

“Leah called us and told us she was organizing this, so we found a way to make it all work and come. We had to see you one last time before you become a mum.”

“Thank you so much for coming” I say, crying again but also laughing, feeling very grateful for all the people in my life.

“Ok, so this is how it will go” Leah says. “Since these two can’t decide who will be the Godfather, your talent will do it for you. Each one of you have a bunch of diapers and a doll. You must put a diaper on, then change it as if it was dirty, and put a clean one. The one who puts on more diapers, will win.”

“This is stupid” Declan says.

“It was the only solution for our problem. Are you scared, Rice?” Leah says, teasing him. He just rolls his eyes, ignoring her. “Alright, then” she continues “please treat the dolls kindly, Summer would like to have them back in one piece. The grandmas will be the judges, so if they say you are doing it wrong, you must start again.”

“I can’t believe they are actually doing this” I say to Mason while Declan, Aaron and Lewis get ready in front of the dolls.

“Neither do I” he laughs. “C’mon boys, show us what you got!”

“Ready?” Leah says. “Three, two, one… go!”

“Babyshower games are very stupid, but this one was so much fun” I say after it is over and while everyone is eating, drinking and chatting together.

“I organized it. Of course it was fun!” Leah says.

“And what do you think about the chosen one?”

“Lewis was the best option. You know it, he knows it, I know it, everyone knows it.”

“But I feel bad for Declan and Aaron.”

“You are having more kids, they’ll get their chance.”

“You never know, Leah.”

“That’s true, yes. But I know that you and Mason aren’t gonna become celibate, so…” she shrugs.

“Yeah... that isn’t happening. And thank you.”

“For what?”

“For all you are doing. You are the bestest friend ever.”

“Anything for you. And for you too, little one” she says, caressing my belly.

Dark Star Falling (7 of ?)

Astarion finds Darling in front of the fireplace in the central pit of the hotel suite, in a nest made of all the couch cushions and several purloined down comforters piled together.

“This is new. Should I be concerned?” he asks. They look up at him and then quickly look away trying to hide their runny mascara. “Ah, I see. Do you… want to talk about it?”

He pulls a cushion out and sits on it and Darling flop over to put their head in his lap.

“You’ll bake fun of be,” they mumble wetly. “You called be twee.”

“Well, I can’t argue with that,” he says, stifling a laugh. “But tell me anyway. Maybe I can cheer you up. I owe you for, well, you know.”

“Baybe just cuddles,” they propose. They aren’t up for fighting him on the who-owes-who, or that nobody’s keeping score anymore anyway. Tho as an attempt at distracting them from their misery it is appreciated.

Astarion disappears for a minute and then drops a handkerchief on their head. “All right, slide over. You’re taking up all the big cushions. Would you like me to get Halsin over here?” he asks, settling in with an arm draped over them. They don’t answer immediately, sniffling into the hanky.

“What, are you gonna just yell for him? He’s sleeping. Let him sleep,” they say incredulously.

“He’s been sedated in the temple of Bhaal for three whole days. Vacation over. If you ask me he ought to start pulling his considerable weight,” Astarion says, eliciting a chuckle from Darling.

“You’re mean,” they say.

“You love it. Tell me what’s bothering you, my sweet.”

“I dunno who I am.”

“All right, but that’s hardly new for you. Do you mean because the Urge is gone? Or all that nonsense about being a hero that Withers dropped on you?”

“Both?”

“This won’t be the first time you’ve had to reinvent yourself, and I’ll be there to make sure you don’t turn into some obnoxious do-gooder like the Blade of Avernus over there. I’m more than up to the challenge of being your new dark urge,” he laughs his somewhat unhinged chuckle, and this seems to satisfy Darling on the subject.

“I’m afraid to fall asleep,” they say, finally.

“Ah, yes. That’s perfectly understandable,” he begins, but there isn’t really more to say than that.

“What if Enver doesn’t like me anymore?”

“Then we’ll kill him, or better yet, we’ll release Karlach into the room with him and watch from the loft. We can bring wine and a cheese board,” he says, but only hears snuffling in response. “You shouldn’t worry about him, darling. That man has it bad for you.”

“Probably not bad enough to denounce his god, tho.”

“Darling, the collective tonnage of experience with denouncing gods that is present in this building could kill a herd of dragons. You just did it a scant few hours ago. What brought that about?”

“I think it’s a wing of dragons,” they say.

“Pedantry, was it? A bold strategy. It’s no wonder you died.”

“Ugh,” they groan and stuff their face in a pillow. “I thought about when He tried to make me kill you and I was so mad I just kept saying no to Him until He killed me.”

“I couldn’t make out any of that so I’m going to assume it was about me.”

“It was about you!” they grumble, rotating to face him. Their makeup is completely in ruins, and not in a cute way like Shadowheart’s been wearing hers.

“Oh good,” he says, pulling another handkerchief out from under him and wiping at Darling’s face until they bury it in his tunic. “Looks like you’ve got laundry duty tomorrow.”

“We’re gonna blow up the steel watch tomorrow,” they say.

“Really? And that’s not what you think will put Gortash off your dance card?”

“It’s for his own good. He’ll thank me later.”

“Ah, yes, the Darling special.”

‘ghost on the roof’ s1 finale livewatch

the first livewatch of 2023 is here!!! to kick things off we’ll descend into fangirl madness with the season 1 finale of ‘ghost on the roof’! i livewatched the first two eps in march (nearly a year ago!!!), so i figured i’d pull a clarissa and do the same for the finale! i’m absolutely excited af to see how this amazing webtoon will end... for now! ;)

before we start... ♫ prediction time! ♫ in the last ep, a gala was held for the new production of ‘don giovanni’ and christine got one of the lead roles! pretty soon, she and carlotta will go to the stage for a special preview (hmm....)

but for now, christine is celebrating with her crew, aka raoul, meg, jo and cecile!

christine isn’t wearing a mask, just a stick mask! she’s wearing her contacts so a mask shouldn’t be a problem, but maybe she prefers stick masks! *ignores rewrite erik’s incessant rants about stick masks being awful in the background* :)

but then...

HE’S there in the crowd!!!!! and not wearing a skull mask like the past red deaths! no one will recognize him anyways, so he’s smart to do that! ;)

christine is like ‘!!!!’ and decides to go investigating. of course, raoul is suspicious and jo is like ‘wait was that the ghost?’ but he can’t do anything since cecile insisted that he stops his investigating for his safety. he still goes up to christine and asks if she’s seen a ghost...

will she say yes? will she fib to get jo off her back so she can eat her macron in peace? will she sneak off to find erik? will there be yet another rewrite coincidence with a secret dance like rewrite raoulstine? will a certain shiny af object fall during the ceiling to end the season on a... not quite cliffhanger? with how amazing i know this ep will be, will i survive to the end? let’s find out! ;)

anyways that was the season 1 finale of ‘ghost’! it was incredible, it was adorable, it was shocking and I LOVED THE ERISTINE MOMENTS SO MUCH!!!!!! that pretty much sums up all of ‘ghost on the roof’ though! it’s the best webtoon out there and i can’t wait to see what it has to offer in season 2! :D

Father of the Bride (1991)

With his oldest daughter's wedding approaching, a father finds himself reluctant to let go.

Warning: Review may contain spoilers. Read at your own risk.

JayBell: It's father's day weekend and to mark the occasion we have The Father, Steve Martin. Honestly I'm conflicted about this movie.

There are some definite good bits. I like that it captures a very specific moment of a father/daughter relationship and all the pain and grief that comes with it. Steve Martin's character is very dramatic, but he actually acknowledges how dramatic he is and how he has passed this propensity for drama onto his daughter. It's another thing that bonds them together.

Despite it being a father/daughter movie, I actually enjoy the relationship between the father and mother more in the movie.

I don't have a problem with Martin Short's character or his actions but god I HATE his accent. It's unbearable. I like that he ends up kind of "friends" with the dad but I just can't handle the accent. I think this is a very 90's type of joke that doesn't age well.

A baby Culkin appears in this movie, and as usual with a Culkin kid, he acts wayyyy to mature for his age. He is just kind of here in the movie acting as a mini-adult. Also they let these baby children drive cars? And why are they worried about only two parking attendants when they had no place to park all these freaking cars? This as an obstacle for the father not being able to say goodbye to his daughter is stupid.

I think the ending is missing something. I don't think the ending phone call between the father and daughter has enough emotional weight to end the movie. I think it needs a final father/daughter dance where the arc can conclude ("I may be growing up and leaving but you'll always be my father blah blah").

So I don't know. I think it's an entertaining movie, but it's difficult to rate it really high when it left me frustrated.

Anzie: I have to start by admitting I’ve always wanted to watch this and I don’t know why I hadn’t? But alas we’re here and we did it. And I also have to admit it’s worrisome when I begin to identify and agree with the dad in the movie. (Even if he is somewhat obsessed with his daughter).

Okkk. So I really liked this at first- although it hurt as it has began to when characters in movie or books happen to be under the age of 25. You’re a child, Steve Martin is right, and I can’t handle it. I also have to agree Annie’s meet cute is one inch from a Dateline episode. I don’t like what’s his name and like I said..even tho Steve Martin is weirdly obsessed… and I get she’s daddy’s girl…. If my kid came home from Italy with a bf and getting married a good 60% of me would be running a background check.

And can we just discuss the whole plot. And I did the math to include inflation from the last 30 odd years…. And again. Dad is NOT wrong. To have a party at your house??? Wowzers. (I also really can’t handle Martin Short with black hair or the accent or BD Wong that young or with that hair). Ohhh and the blender thing. If a man gave me a blender bc he knew I wanted to make smoothies and milkshakes and salsa and spaghetti sauce and margaritas and the price of a blender, I’d think I’d found my soulmate. Also it seems dumb that she’s not going to give her job up or this or that yet she’s decimated at the thought his blender gift is an attempt to domesticate her- it’s a blender??? Imagine smoothies so you’re healthy to go be an architect. Geez. I’m mad.

And the actual wedding. No dinner. No cake. No father daughter dance. No bye dad thanks for spending a fortune on a wedding even though my husband’s parents had seven bathrooms- I was sooo peeved. I’m still peeved. I really hate Diane Keaton?? I think that’s always been a thing for me tho and not isolated but it doesn’t help? The way she and the daughter guilt the dad into bleeding money for essentially a party.

Anyway I’m interested in ways the original and remake differ or are similar and I’m simply stoked for the sequel. ( that sounds sarcastic bc I am I tad peeved but it’s genuine)

Riddle: 7/10 polite, but kinda intense. I come from a proud line of fuckers who throw fireworks into bonfires and drive into lakes for fun. Well mannered but perhaps too well mannered,,, rip Riddle

Ace: 5/10 The opposite issue of Riddle, not uptight at all, also a rude little bitch. He gets an average score bc I am fond of him

Deuce: 9/10 they’d find the egg thing weird but otherwise he’s perfect. A mommas boy who can be polite and rowdy, almost perfect. Almost

Trey: 10/10 the kind of guy that makes your folks more excited about your wedding than you are. He bakes, he’s good with kids, he’s easy to get along with. What more could you want. The dental fixation can be overlooked they’ve ignored weirder.

Cater: 8/10 the older folks would find the social media thing weird but overall he’s fine

Leona: 3/10 Lazy, Rude and a member of the 1%? Fat chance that goes over well. They’d send him to help with the harvest and he’d fall asleep in the dirt. The respecting women bit boosts his score bc my family is run by women, but it’s doesn’t help him much.

Ruggie: 8/10 the theft thing wouldn’t look great but again, they’ve overlooked worse. Plus we love a bitch who can coupon. Him being community minded and good with kids is also a very plus.

Jack: 10/10 a good boy. He’d help with the chores and be very respectful what’s not to love? Backyard wedding here we come

Azul: 5/10 I feel it in my bones he’d hear their accents and try to talk down to them, that an he’s a capitalist? Yeah no, but once he gets a few dirty looks he’ll probably mellow out enough to be acceptable. Oh Azul 😔

Jade: either a 1/10 or a 10/10, it entirely depends on if he’s on his best behavior or not. Though knowing him he’s gonna forgo the meeting the family part and just fuck off into the woods to look for mushrooms.

Floyd: 3/10 weird and creepy but as long as you’re happy, that would be the general reception. Also probably wouldn’t help with the chores but there’s a chance he’d also clear a whole field by himself bc he thought it was fun.

Kalim: 9/10 overlooking the rich part in favor of the “is an angel” and good with kids part. Ugh he’s perfect Kalim. Would try to help with the chores but wouldn’t know what he’s doing. Would also need to be told not to do obviously dangerous stuff. But you can’t stay mad at him 💕

Jamil: 8/10 It must suck to get bested by Kalim in a category where you’d think he’d come out on top. They’d like him but it’s hard to beat Kalims sunshiney nature and therefore whatever he earns must be one less point than whatever Kalim got. His cooking skills and dancing would be a plus. I hope you can square dance baby boy

Vil: 6/10 he’d hate it and would probably refuse to do 80% of the chores he’s asked to and also turn down a lot of the food he’s offered but as long as he’s polite he can stay above a 5/10. He’s on thin fucking ice tho

Rook: another enigma. I can’t even give a number. They’d either hate him for his general weirdness (and frenchness) or they’d love him for his overall love of life and outdoorsy nature. He’d help with the chores but he might also disappear for 2 hours and return with knowledge of family secrets no one has spoken of in 30 years

Epel: 10/10 OF FUCKING COURSE. He’s perfect. 5 minutes in and preserves jars will be back on their way to Harveston. You don’t have to hide ur accent here bby <3

Idia: 4/10 lmao he spends all his time in the guest room on his tablet avoiding people and is rich? He’s lucky he’s not actively rude and has a cute little brother running damage control

Malleus: 7/10 he’s kinda weird and talks about gargoyles or whatever too much but he’s polite and helps out so they’d like him overall. He’d like that there are people who aren’t scared of him all over the place and the older folks would like that he listens to their stories with genuine interest. It’s cute till he’s penpals with all your relatives over the age of 50 (okay maybe it’s still cute)

Lilia: 10/10 do I need to even explain. He’s well mannered but would thrive in the chaos. Just don’t let him in the kitchen. We’ll throw him in the pool along with the watermelons

Silver: 8/10 he just stays awake long enough to make a pretty good impression on them and then falls asleep in the den. He will wake up with a quilt on top of him and a tinfoil covered plate of food in one of the fridges with his name on it 💛

Sebek: 4/10 no one minds that he’s loud but he’s kind of rude and abrasive. Probably tries to help with the chores but isn’t very good at it. Still I’ve got an uncle who honest to god thinks he’s a whole Viking so he won’t really stand out too much

And when the world needed them they returned.

Also this feels really... correct if that makes sense? Maybe cause my family is also insane

a/n: did i write this just because i love doing my eyeliner and i really want to sit on a guy’s lap while i do his???? maybe. but that’s none of your business 🙄☝️

it’s canon that he wears eyeliner and even if it wasn’t,,, he’d still try it at least ONCE

in this case you had to ask him

well more like beg him

“how? you suck at doing yours”

you scoff before punching his arm, making him let out a hiss as he glares at you

“i don’t you idiot, now can you shut up and stay still for a second?”

just to have some fun of his own

he places one of his hands on the back of your neck, gently pulling you forward until your noses are almost touching

the other one caresses your cheek softly, then his fingers slowly trace out your jaw, eyes still stuck on your own

it’s infuriating really

the way his fingers carefully touch your lips, applying a bit more pressure on his thumb that’s touching your lower lip so he can open your mouth ever so slightly

the way he acts as if he has all the time in the world, as if he could do this all day

and you know he can

but you don’t

so you lean in to close the distance with a deep kiss

it’s messy and sloppy; his tongue clashing with your own as his hands roam all over your body to feel you

you end up sitting on his lap, lips still connected and hands all over each other

you pull away, chest heaving as rough breaths leave your mouth and smirk when you notice bakugou is looking at you

his hair is messy thanks to your gripping and the eyeliner fits him so nicely

so it’s no surprise that he’s caught up with all the trends and challenges

and even dances (which surprisingly, he’s damn good at)

i’m guessing you guys already know what i’m trying to get at

he had seen way too many tiktoks of couples doing their partner’s eyeliner and he thought it was the coolest thing ever

not only was he curious to see how the makeup would look on him, but he also just wanted an excuse to spend more time with you

he had been thinking about it for a few weeks now, but couldn’t seem to find the perfect moment to ask you

until one night you guys were having a sleepover on your dorm and a video of said trend pops up on his ‘fyp’

you’re cuddling, your head against his chest as his fingers trace random pattern on your back, when he brings it up

“hey babe?”

you hum in response, eyes fluttering open to look up at kaminari

he smiles before pecking your lips, thinking about how beautiful you look all cuddled up next to him

“do you think you could do my eyeliner real quick?”

the question takes you by surprise,

tho you’re used to yout boyfriend being quite spontaneous and random at times, so you don’t really question it

instead, you nod and move out of the bed to get the makeup product, which sits on your vanity

he asks you once you walk over to him, but you simply smile before taking a seat on his lap

you position your legs on either side of his hips so you’re in a straddling position and kaminari almost forgets all about the makeup because of this

but can you really blame him?

you just look so perfect like this

when you start, he can’t help but giggle at the feeling and you have to hold his face in place so he would stop moving

he gets used to it after a while

almost even falls asleep from how soft your other hand felt on his cheek

since you know kaminari likes to be a little extra, you attempt to draw a lighting bolt right below one of the lines

it’s not the best, but it looks decent enough so you decide to leave it there

but when you finish, you feel like something is missing; like it could be better

then you have the fantastic idea to use eyeshadow

kaminari feels you getting up from his lap and he whines

“where are you going?”

“hold on, i’m feeling inspired right now”

“okay?”

he doesn’t understand what you mean at all, but he lets you be

you take a random eyeshadow palette and make sure it has a nice black color on it

then you reposition yourself on his lap

“open your eyes and look up”

he does as he’s told and you proceed to put some more black on his lower lash line and waterline (not too much)

when kaminari doesn’t feel your touch on his face anymore, he looks down at you with a smile, which inevitably makes you smile too

“how do i look?”

you chuckle lowly, examining his eyes once more

he always looks gorgeous, but the eyeliner just...makes him hit different

and the fact he’s wearing one of his chokers doesn’t make it any better

he looks straight out of alt tiktok

“you, my beautiful boyfriend, look very attractive”

he smirks at your teasing tone, “oh? is that so?”

“i should get going,” he pouts at your words, his hold on your waist tightening so you couldn’t stand up and you giggle, turning around completely so you’re facing him

you wrap your hands around his neck to pull him closer, just until your lips touch

you teasingly smirk at him before kissing his cheek and he frowns

kirishima scoffs at your stupid question and grabs your jaw gently, looking you in the eyes

you roll your eyes, “you’re so impatient”

nevertheless you comply and connect your lips with his, your hands now slightly massaging his nape

he hums against your mouth, prompting you to keep going

before things can go any further tho, you pull away

he huffs childishly, not liking the way you kept leaving him hanging

“i seriously should get going,” you press one last peck on his lips. “don’t wanna risk getting caught here”

“then just stay the night”

so sometimes while you’re both getting ready for the day, you see him doing it

you open the bathroom door sleepily, barely managing to keep your eyes open

you walk over to the sink next to keigo’s and splash water on your face to wake yourself up

beside you, keigo smiles at your antics

he thinks you look the cutest in the mornings, especially when you’re grumpy

feeling his eyes on your figure, you turn around to face him with a raised brow

in one hand he holds a feather of his against his eyelid, as if to help him do a straight line, and with the other he holds the actual makeup product

he has a concentrated look on his face, his brows slightly furrowed

and you look at him with nothing but adoration in your eyes

he looks so effortlessly beautiful

his golden locks are messy, yet perfectly in place and his wings rest by his side

he has his hero costume on, except for his coat

meaning his muscular arms are in full display for you to see

you don’t realize you’re staring until keigo finally finishes the second eye, and puts down the eyeliner

he smirks at you through the mirror and you look away, embarrassment clear on your face

“come on, i made us breakfast”

instead of teasing you, like you thought he would, he simply grabs your hand and leads you to the dining table

your heart swells for the man and you look at the two plates in awe, “you did this?”

you roll your eyes before turning around and kissing him, a soft “thank you” leaving your lips as you pull away

that morning you can’t help but keep stealing glances at your boyfriend’s flawless eyeliner

and later that night, when you’re both cuddled up in each other’s arms watching a movie, you get the sudden brilliant idea

you clear your throat and move away from him, enough so that you can actually do the makeup, but his hands stay on your hips

you try your best to do it the exact same way he does it

a sharp, straight line that covers part of his outer v and also a small portion of his inner corner

giving his eyes a cat like shaped form

to add your own touch, you draw two small hearts on both sides of his cheekbones

“m’kay, you can open your eyes now”

and when he does, your breath literally hitches in your throat

of course it’s not the first time you’ve seen him wearing eyeliner

but your faces are still close and his amber eyes are stuck on yours and you just feel like you’re about to explode

your reaction doesn’t go unnoticed by keigo and he smirks

“i take it you like how it looks?” his tone is flirty and it makes you snap from your trance

you smile at him, softly tracing the two hearts with your fingers, “hm, you look lovely”

“oh really?”

“yeah”

“not as lovely as you, i bet”

and before you can even disagree with him, he presses his lips against yours

you let out a soft moan when he moves you so you’re sitting on his lap and his tongue explores your mouth ever so passionately

keigo takes his sweet time kissing you, taking in every little sound you make and the way your hips slowly move against his thigh

when you pull away, your lips are swollen and you have some spit coating them

which is enough to make keigo go crazy, but before actually doing something, he takes the eyeliner on his hand

you furrow your eyebrows at his action

“what are you doing?”

“well it’s my turn now”

“why do you oh so suddenly want to do my eyeliner?”

he smiles, leaning down to whisper in your ear, “because i wanna see how it’ll look when i make you cry it off”

your eyes widen at his words, but you make no attempt to stop him

keigo kept his promise and he indeed made you cry all of your eyeliner off 😁👍🏼

(A/N): ope, went a little overboard with this one (also it’s not proofread, so sorry about any mistakes)

You have wings on your back (the feather pattern depends on what parrot floats your boat)

If you’re a Scarlet Macaw, Blue-and-Yellow Macaw, or Chestnut-Fronted Macaw, then you have black lines on your cheeks and heavy black lines around your eyes (think Hawks from bnha but less pointy)

If you are a Hyacinth Macaw, you have yellow markings around your eyes and mouth

If you’re a cockatiel, you have a killer mohawk/hair that is always very pointy and orange circles on your cheeks (how cute!)

I have a feeling that your hair is incredibly soft

Very sensitive wings

I feel like your teeth would be sharp and your nails would normally be fast-growing, long, and sharp

You tilt your head like impossibly far when you’re confused or trying to hear something better

You kinda stress yourself out over it sometimes

When he notices (which he will, he’s very perceptive), he immediately calls it a day and has some sibling bonding time

You both bond over liking to eat strange things

Amazon macaws like to lick clay deposits on riverbanks so you like to have some on you at all times to lick when you get stressed

Wilbur carries some in a bag in his pocket and you carry a bag of sand

Whenever one of you notices the other has a rough day, you give each other your respective stuff

You have to be sneaky with it though, Philza always takes away nonedible stuff from his children if he sees them trying to eat it (he has good intentions tho)

It always looks like a drug deal

With Techno, I feel like he would find you incredibly annoying at first with how loud you are

He would actually start to hate you when you started to sneak up behind him

It got to the point to whenever he would hear your voice he would get irrationally mad and have to leave the house for a few hours

He, like everyone outside your family, would think you were useless and incredibly stupid

That was until he passed Tommy’s room one day and overheard you crying and telling Tommy about your insecurities

He would spend the next few days ignoring you bc he felt bad

He would spend those days contemplating on why he treated you like he did

Coming to the realization that you were likely trying to get closer to him and you were just being yourself, making him feel like the biggest piece of shit

He totally had no idea how to confront you about this, so naturally he went to Philza (that man was literally so happy that his children were gonna start to get along)

He would spend the day gathering golden melons because he found out that you’d never tried golden melons before from Philza

When he approached you one day with an apology and some golden melons, you were suspicious at first

He hated you, so why would he get you these things if he didn’t need anything from you?

Quickly finding that his apology is genuine and he felt incredibly bad for treating you like that over the years

You picked up on his guilt pretty quickly and made quick work to reassure him

He would take you on short trips and would soon find that you’re very useful in detecting mobs and deterring creepers with cat noises

He would never admit it, but he loves it when you would scare Tommy or Wilbur, thinking it’s hilarious

You also found out that carrying a seven and a half foot tall piglin hybrid was incredibly difficult to do, especially when flying

You two managed to get only about ten feet above the ground before your wings gave out under the strain and you fell on him

“(Y/n) has earned the achievement ‘When Pigs Fly’” flashed on everyone’s comm tablets that day

That wasn’t fun trying to explain to Philza

Philza would be ecstatic to have someone to fly with that he didn’t have to carry

He would take you on flights when you had too much energy

Sometimes racing each other and competing to do tricks midair (which sometimes you both rope your brothers into judging)

Late night flights when you need to get your mind off from something

Watching the sunrise together in silence for once

Bonding over being able to see ultraviolet light when everyone else couldn’t

You always give him the shiny things you come across and he gives you your favorite snacks

He always fusses over your wings, sometimes preening them for you

Helping each other through molts

Matches your excitement sometimes when you’re really happy

You feel bad whenever you hear stories of how difficult you were as a baby

He’s quick to reassure you that raising you was worth it and you turned out to be a great person

But he wouldn’t be lying when he said you were a difficult infant

Your terrible twos stage? His literal hell

Philza swears he can still hear ringing from whenever you would throw tantrums as a toddler, even years after you left your toddler age

He also still has some scars from when you went through your biting phase (teething was awful for you, his poor baby)

But he’s happy he was the one that raised you, he genuinely enjoys your presence

He can tell if you’re overwhelmed or upset just with one glance at your ruffled feathers and your rapidly dilating and contracting pupils

Immediately pulling you out of the situation and letting you talk it out

Whenever he finds you sad about your insecurities, he points out every part of your personality that he loves

That’s before he hunts down the person that made you feel like this (he really lives up to his title of ‘The Angel of Death’)

i started writing this long ago, tried to make it longer...it's almost 1k now! it's only hours left to his bday 🥺 my babyboy getting older 🥺 i hope he'll have an amazing year with full of health, success and happiness 💌

you two have been married for a couple days now, still not realizing that it actually happened, every morning you wake up in his arms, in the midst of his essence, it feels like a dream. the way he gives you that bright smile, even brighter that the white silk sheets you wake up in, your heart flutters. you feel the need of touching his face to prove yourself he’s real.

you planned your honeymoon quite well and full, you had multiple destinations to go and now you were in a very luxury yet natural place between the woods. it was mostly made of big glass windows, you could see everywhere. it was the best place to lay between his arms, listen his soulful voice while watching the nature. he loved it when you sing along, he’d get a little competitive tho, showing off his vocal skills and make you get fake sulky. you could never get actually sulky, he always knew how to make it up to you with his kisses.

today you woke up in his arms again, you watched his angel alike expression for some time before you decided to go prepare breakfast.

you left a small peck to his lips and fixed the hair he has on his eyes then you got up. you quickly got a shirt of his and put it on. it was so comfy plus smelling like him and koo loved seeing it on you. you got into the kitchen and took a look at the fridge and thought about what you can cook. you chose omelet and orange juice. while you were cooking them you opened ‘paradise’ by them, vibing it.

you felt a pair of arms hugging you from behind, head on your neck.

“why did you got up jagi, i didn’t like waking up without you.” he pouted before taking deep breaths on your neck.

“i got hungry baby, next time i’ll wake you up too.” you lied hands busy with the man who locked you between his arms.

“you better, i feel like i’m addicted to it.” he said before turning you to face him, dancing and singing it to you.

after you two had your breakfast you decided to go for a walk, you were getting afraid from even the smallest voices, thinking it’s a wild animal. he made fun of your reactions.

“if i get eaten by an animal here you’ll be a wifeless guy in the woods.” you threatened him. “we’ll see if you laugh then.” you said, eyes still looking everywhere.

“you’re my what? say it again.” he said cupping your face and smiling with heart eyes.

“wife.” you whispered, getting lost on his eyes. you were too in love. he left a kiss to your lips, then nose, then forehead.

“i’ll be a good husband and protect my wife, don’t worry.” he said and held your hand, pulling you behind him. he said he was taking you back home because your hands got too cold plus he gave you a piggyback ride because you stepped on a hole.

“you can’t even live for a day in the woods jagiya. lucky for you, you have me as a husband.” he said while carrying you.

“yesss! sorry ladies and gentleman, I got the best husband!” you screamed and laughed, hugging his neck tighter.

you talked about your wedding on the road, smiling like fools. then you got home.

you two got into the kitchen and he lifted you up, making you sit on the counter. you helped him cutting the vegetables for your meal and he cooked for you between holding your body close and giving you kisses.

you were feeling like you’re on the clouds, even his eyes were smiling at you. he was making you taste and check if it’s cooked enough. smiling and giving you pecks when you accidentally burn your tongue a little.

“i’m so sorry baby, let me fix it.” he said before kissing you.

“remember when i said the best husband?” you said pretending like you’re mad at him.

“yupp.” he gave you a knowing smile.

“i’m taking it back. my tongue hurts.” you said and that made him shocked and leave you there.

you knew that he’s playing but he was so cute while pouting. you walked after him and he didn’t turn back or say something to you so you run and held the neck of his shirt, pulling him close.

“jagii, i’m kidding.” you said and he kept being sulky then you made him sit on the nearest couch before pulling the oversized shirt of his you’re wearing. now you were only with your underwear. he was enjoying it a lot, it was written all of his face. you moved closer to him and stand in front of him, knowing his hands will find your body.

it did in seconds, he pulled you to his lap. you gave him intense kisses from his collarbones to his ears. he was making voices that made you know he wants more.

you rocked yourself back and forth on his crotch, moaning his name.

“use me as an apology?” you said giving him the most innocent look. he moaned and pushed himself to you.

“i will, i will use you in every way babygirl. you better be ready ‘cuz i’m not planning to stop.” he talked with satoori. it was your weakness.

then you decided to lean down, playing with his belt.

“orr you know you can use other parts of me too…”
