Compared to the rest of his members, Jongin has a bit more of a temper on him than the others. Whilst he hates shouting or arguing with you, there are certainly a few occasions where he just can’t help himself. If the two of you argue, he’ll take some time away to relax and calm down, once he’s cool and ready to talk, he’ll reappear. He won’t let an argument drag out for too long, once his temper has cooled, he’ll realise what mistakes have been made and will be determined to figure things out. He’s stubborn, but when it comes to the point of beginning to hurt you, he knows exactly when to draw the line.

You met his niece and nephew first when helping him babysit one evening, and luckily for you, they hyped you up to the rest of his family. Seeing how much the two kids loved you, his family knew that they’d love you too. And when they met you, they weren’t let down, and seeing how happy the kids were to see you again settled everything too.

Jongin didn’t want to rush anything with your relationship, it was something he’d done before and regretted. It would take a few months at least before Jongin considered inviting you to move into his place, but eventually, he’d know when he was ready, and as soon as he was, he’d ask you the question straight away.

He was the first to say, ‘I love you,’ one night one a date. As the two of you walked along the river hand in hand, his eyes glanced across at you. You were lost in looking down the river, but as he studied you closely, it became very apparent to Jongin how he felt about you, calling out your name to capture your attention before telling you how he felt.

J ⇴ JEALOUSY

Jongin tried hard not to get jealous, he often gave off the impression he was tough and confident, and he wanted it to stay that way. But on the inside, he hated seeing you around other people, and you knew him well enough to know when he was feeling that way too. He’d try and smile in your direction when you caught him and reassure you, but you knew him much better than that, pulling him to one side so that you could ease his worries without anyone else hearing around you both and teasing him about it.

Having his niece and nephew gave him plenty of practice for the future. Seeing Jongin around them both certainly gave you an insight into your future, as it did for him when he watched you with the two of them. Together you knew that one day you wanted to start a family together, but you weren’t in any rush, you both had other dreams you wanted to accomplish before you thought about children just yet.

He loved to play jokes on you and wind you up, he was one of the biggest jokesters in the group and that reflected in your relationship too. He’ll always play innocent when he tries to make you laugh, pleading that he never intended to give you a stitch from laughing too hard, but you know he knows exactly what he’s doing. Nothing boosts his ego more than knowing that he’s the one responsible for your laughter and the reason that you proudly wear such a wide smile on your face whenever he’s around.

M ⇴ MISSING

Jongin struggles a lot when he’s away from you, around the group he’ll become very quiet and introverted whilst trying to push his feelings to one side. For a few days, he’ll appear fine whenever the two of you call, but after a week or two when the distance begins to burden you both, his true feelings will become clear. Over time, he’ll open up to you about his struggles and let you see how emotional he’s getting. He counts down the days each time he goes away on tour until he can reunite with you, that’s his best way of coping, knowing that each day when he wakes up, he’s a day closer to being able to go home and reunite with you. It’s hard on you both but coming back together is always the highlight of it all.

He loves for you to call him ‘bear’ and in response he’ll always give you the biggest bear hug. For you, he’s traditional ‘love’ is his favourite term of endearment to use, but it usually depends on how he’s feeling.

Jongin is obsessed with your waist, he loves to wrap his arms around your waist when he’s hugging you, or have an arm wrapped around it whenever the two of you are walking side by side.

He’s not afraid to be affectionate with you in public, he’s not shy in making his relationship known to people and will happily make an obvious point to anyone who stares in your direction that you’re taken. Whenever he goes shopping for hoodies, he buys duplicates. These days, you have a whole section of your wardrobe dedicated to the hoodies that Jongin has bought you so that the two of you can match. When he goes on tour, he swaps the hoodies so he has yours and you have his, that way you have each other’s scents around you, but you can still be comfortable in clothes that you’d both wear in your day to day lives.

Incredibly passionate, this is the time when Jongin will be most affectionate with you. He’ll cling to you and keep you as close as possibly as he can. He lets his lips and hands do most of the talking, he loves to feel your body and feel the control that he has over you. His lips will be attached to any part of your skin that he can reach. Jongin is also the best at aftercare, he always knows exactly what to do to look after you.

He knows that you’re a big fan of his lips, and he’ll definitely use that to his advantage. He’ll often appear beside you with his lips puckered, making it very clear what he wants from you. He loves to use his height to crane down and press a kiss against your cheek, or if he can reach, your lips. Whenever he kisses you by surprises, he knows it will flush your cheeks red, which is always the sign he takes to carry on.

Summary: Seungkwan can’t resist the urge to go searching for the banshee any longer, but his trip into the woods has him coming face-to-face with a strange girl who doesn’t seem to remember anything about where she came from or how she got where she is. The only things she knows are the things the voices she hears tell her. And that strange girl is you, his mate.

A few days had gone by since you’d moved in with your new pack, and it hadn’t stopped raining since. Everyone was friendly and treated you well and normally -- in that sense it was better than being back with Seungkwan’s pack. However, despite being given the cold shoulder by some, you still would’ve rather have been with Seungkwan deep down. But you never voiced that.

After dinner one night, you decided to hang out with the pack for a little bit. Not only did Luhan like excitedly talking to you, but you were pretty fond of Jongdae who always seemed to try to get you to smile. Sehun was nice as well -- a little shy at first, but nice -- and Zitao had brought home a few items of clothing from the market for you the day after you’d begun staying there. They definitely seemed thoughtful.

However, the pack had introduced you to a new pack. They said they were a pack of special werewolves, all of them having a power. They seemed nice enough, and Junmyeon had explained they were friends with them. Junmyeon mentioned some of Seungcheol’s pack were familiar with them as well, but promised this new pack wouldn’t mention anything about you to Seungkwan.

The alpha, Jiung, seemed incredibly sweet. He was a taller boy with curly dark hair that was shorter on the sides, sparkling gold eyes, and seemed to have the hints of a smile on his face all the time. His sister, Kyung, was shorter than him with her curls tied in two buns on her head, and she seemed a little sassier than the alpha. Still, she showed you nothing but kindness despite the snarky remarks toward some of Junmyeon’s pack.

“Have you been alright today?” Kyung asked you as you sat on the couch beside her.

Jiung’s pack wasn’t necessarily brought to meet you to help the pack with you or anything. They just happened to come visit and Junmyeon explained your situation. Kyung seemed to take an extra liking to you for whatever reason -- that, and she didn’t want you to feel lonely away from your mate. She didn’t really know what that felt like since she was still unmated, but she’d seen it and didn’t want some poor girl have to experience it. She understood you felt very confused about everything so she just wanted you to feel like you had someone.

You nodded, though you could never tell if it was the truth or not, “Yeah, thank you.”

“She’s been adjusting well,” Junmyeon commented with a nod.

“Other than the screaming,” Baekhyun grumbled.

It was true that you still woke up shrieking in the middle of the night, but nobody was ever sure if it meant death or if you was just trying to hear voices on a different plane -- it had always been the latter considering you hadn’t come to beside any almost-dead bodies. Either way, the screams made everyone nervous and a little bit annoyed.

“Aw, it’s not that bad…” Dae insisted, though she didn’t sound convinced herself.

“Could be worse,” Jongin agreed with a shrug. “One of us could’ve woken up dead.”

Minseok rolled his eyes, “Bad joke, Jongin.”

Kyungsoo whacked the wolf in the back of the head.

You began fidgeting with your fingers, your cheeks turning pink as you felt a little guilty. You weren’t trying to be a bother -- in fact, it was the opposite of what you wanted -- but it was something you couldn’t control.

You suddenly felt eyes on you, and looked up to see Kyung watching you.

“I-I’m sorry,” you said shyly. “It’s not something I can control…b-but I can try!”

“No, you don’t have to try,” the female wolf was quick to reassure you despite her being a guest in the house and basically having no say or authority. “You can’t help it, and they’ll have to deal with it.”

“Yeah!” Dae agreed before giving a stern look to the pack. “Leave _____ alone.”

While you seemed to be making friends well enough with this new pack, you seemed quieter to the pack – if that were possible. You rarely spoke up much, and when you did, it was only to say a few words – literally – before you clammed back up. Honestly, the only time the pack ever really heard you speak up more was when Luhan or Kyung were around. But even with Luhan, he did most of the talking. Kyung tried to ask questions and keep up an active conversation with you.

While Kyung began asking you more about your day just to get you to engage a bit more, Junmyeon walked over to Dae who was paying attention to the conversation instead of the alpha. He nudged his mate before he nodded his head toward the door, making the girl furrow her eyebrows.

“You really don’t sense that?” the alpha asked quietly, leaning in so you wouldn’t hear him.

She shrugged, “Is something outside?”

“Just c’mon,” he sighed, taking her hand and pulling her up with him when he stood. “We’ll be right back.”

Junmyeon dragged his mate to the back door, bringing her outside into the drizzling rain before he closed the door. He let go of her hand, walking out into the backyard. Dae followed cautiously, her sharp eyes darting around the yard in search of whatever Junmyeon seemed to sense or smell outside, her muscles tensed for anything.

“I know you’re out here,” Junmyeon chuckled.

“Who’s out here?” she whispered.

“Dae, why are you whispering?” she heard a familiar voice ask.

Emerging from the tree line was Seungkwan. But Seungkwan didn’t look how the pair remembered him. He looked like he hadn’t slept or showered since they last saw him. His clothes were the same, his yellow eyes were dull, and even his full cheeks were looking sunken in already. In only a few days, he had turned into a shell of himself.

“Kwannie, you look awful,” Dae frowned, rushing over to cup his cheeks and inspect him closer.

Seungkwan shrugged, “That’s what happens, I guess…”

Junmyeon walked up to stand beside his mate, his eyes taking in every detail of Seungkwan. Neither of them could believe this was what happened to him in such a short amount of time.

“This quickly?” she breathed.

She frowned and brought the young wolf in for a hug, but not wanting to hug him too tight. It was weird fearing she’d somehow hug a werewolf too tight, but he seemed to be deteriorating fast.

Then again, it normally took about a month for the heartbreak to take a werewolf...

“What’re you doing here?” Junmyeon wondered. “Especially out in the rain, you should be inside.”

“That’s just Seokmin,” he explained, which seemed odd to the couple. “Apparently he’d been causing thunder and lightning at night when he had nightmares. Now his new power is fully developed and... Well, when he feels an emotion too strongly, the weather changes. He’s... He’s not taking...my health...well.”

“So why are you all the way out here?” Dae repeated.

Seungkwan let out a sad chuckle, “Is it bad that I still can’t manage to stay away from her even though she doesn’t want me?”

Both packs swore they’d let you do things at your own pace so you’d be comfortable, but hearing that and seeing Seungkwan in the state he was in just made Junmyeon and Dae want to go inside, grab you off the couch, and force the two of you to be together. They never would, but they really wanted to.

Dae sighed, “Seungkwan–”

“I know I can’t see her or talk to her, but just being closer to her at all feels better,” Seungkwan admitted, his eyes moving past the two to the house behind them. “Is she doing okay? Is everyone treating her well? Is she happy?”

Junmyeon looked down at his mate for her answer, so Seungkwan looked at her expectantly as well. Other than Kyung and Luhan, Dae had been spending the most time with you, so it only made sense for her to answer.

“Everyone is very nice to her,” you assured him. “She met the other pack that had helped us and your pack at one point. Kyung really seems to like her and _____ talks with her a lot. But–”

“But?” Seungkwan’s eyes widened.

“She just seems…off,” she continued with a shrug, unsure of how to explain it without either giving Seungkwan a false sense or hope or worrying him.

But Seungkwan panicked anyway.

“Off? Off how?”

“She’s quieter, kinda more distant.”

“I think she misses you,” Junmyeon admitted. “You have to tell her that–”

“I can’t,” Seungkwan sighed, shaking his head. “She made her choice, and I don’t want to guilt her into staying with me.”

“We’ll try to get her home soon,” the alpha promised.

Dae nodded in agreement, “Her real home is with you.”

“If she doesn’t want to come back, she doesn’t have to,” Seungkwan stated.

“But look at you!” she exclaimed, gesturing to the physical state he was now in.

“I don’t care,” he insisted. “I don’t care if it kills me, ______’s comfort comes first. And if she doesn’t want to be with me...so be it.”

Exo reaction to you being dared to do a strip tease in front of the members.

You didn’t know how you got yourself into this situation in the first place… but you were forced to play a game of truth or dare with your boyfriend and the rest of his members and their partners during game night at the exo dorm. At first everything was fine and mild. The challenges were dumb things like write your name with your butt or get your face drawn on as punishment for chickening out of challenges. But as the night got darker and everyone began to drink the challenges began getting dirtier. You and your boyfriend had lucked out for not being involved in the game too often but just as you had gotten comfortable the beer bottle had landed on you. You looked up in shock at everyone and then gave your partner a big smile. Oh hell, you thought to yourself.

“truth or dare?” one of the girlfriends called out

You thought it over and decided to be bold since you were feeling good after a few glasses of wine. “dare” you say with confidence

The group all talked amongst themselves for a moment before they finally turned around and gave you your punishment.

“you have to give your boyfriend a strip tease for a minute!” they blurted out in fits of giggles.

You had closed your eyes and inwardly cried before you moved in front of your boyfriend and began your punishment.

Suho: Suho was so embarrassed by what was happening that he covered his eyes and wished for it to stop. He wasn’t embarrassed because of you, he was embarrassed because you got him from 0 to 100 in a heartbeat and the last thing that he wanted was to get horny in front of everyone at the dorm tonight. So while you did your challenge he held his breath and closed his eyes tight, hoping to god that just the thought of you wouldn’t make him hard.

Xiumin: Xiumin watched you as you swayed your hips and unzipped your jacket slowly. He was shy that everyone was watching a moment like this when it should have been something that only he could see. But the cheers from everyone watching and the small comments from his members made him blush and watch you with a giant grin. And even though he wanted to spare himself the embarrassment he simply couldn’t look away from you.

D.o.: Kyungsoo was on his feet and doing the strip tease in your place before you could even move an inch. "Let's ride that!" You pointed towards a litte girl cycling and Baekhyun frowned. "I don't know about me, but you definitely can fit in that bike."

"I'm serious!" You slapped his arm making him laugh. "Okay! Let's have a race?"

You hummed nodding excitedly. "Okay, but are you sure? Because I have never lost a bike race."

Baekhyun looked at you titling his head as a smirk plastered on his lips. "Then, I'm going to break that record."

You chuckled. "Oh, confident much? Let's do this!"

"Lost one's going to grant a wish." He threw the empty ice-cream cup in the trashcan and looked at you showing his fist. "Deal?"

You also threw your empty ice-cream cup and nodded determinedly before doing fistbump together. "Deal."

And here you were seated on your bicycles ready for your race before you both counted to three together and zoomed off pedaling. Going further, you both kept blocking eachother's way and laughed causing you get lost in fun where the racing thing was nowhere to be found in your mind.

"Y/n! Gimme your hand." Baekhyun suddenly stretched out his hand and you instantly shook your head too afraid to do so. "No, it's dangerous!"

"It's not, trust me!" He insisted and you hesitantly placed your hand in his tightly as you both were pedaling together but instantly let go when someone else passed by between you causing you two laugh.

As the ride continued, your bicycle suddenly stopped and Baekhyun who went passed you immediately stopped before coming backwards and stopped beside you.

"What happened, missy?"

You pouted, making a cry face. "The chain came out."

He chuckled at your pouty yet adorable expression before gesturing towards his back seat with his head. "Hop on, I'll give a lift."

You tilted your head pretending to think. "Thank you but it won't mean anything because I have a boyfriend."

Baekhyun hummed nodding. "I think I'm more handsome than him."

"I agree." You said making him glare at you playfully before you smiled. "But still, no."

You both stared at each other for few seconds before bursting into laughter and that's how it is. You both can just do any childish things and would play along because with eachother, you can be yourself.

"Come on, now." He reached out to hold your hand and made you sit behind him before wrapping your arms around his waist then looked at you over his shoulder. "Hold tight, Coffee bean. We're eloping!"

You laughed but instantly shrieked as he started pedaling making you tightened your grip before riding ahead. You stared at his broad back smiling while your hair flying back in the air before feeling his hand on yours while unknown to you, he was smiling widely.

A sudden idea crossed your mind as you fished your phone from your pocket before opening the camera and captured the moment.

The ride came to an end and you both were currently sitting on a bench beside eachother watching the sunset but you felt something was missing. Huffing, you finally grabbed his arm and wrapped it around your shoulder making your head rest on his shoulder and closed your eyes.

Baekhyun chuckled. "Is this your thing now?"

You shrugged. "I don't know what are you talking about."

He giggled leaning his head over yours as you opened your eyes and both looking ahead watching the sun going down. No words were exchanged, just a complete silence, a comfortable one. It wasn't needed because the moment itself was mesmerizing.

"This is really beautiful." You commented staring ahead and he hummed. "Not more than you."

You just scrunched your nose lightly at his remark making him chuckle and you just smiled before taking out your phone and posted the picture with a caption.

[Perfect date]

That's when your phone began to buzz with lots of comments from your friends making you giggle and Baekhyun to roll his eyes.

SRia - Wow! Envy you for having a date while i'm here stuffing grandma's cookies.

You tilted your head with your forehead creasing. "So? I'm still tired."

He placed his hands either side of his hips. "Y/n, I'm not carrying you."

"Of course, you won't." You said before smiling sarcastically at him. "You are an Ajjusshi and you need to be strong for that."

Baekhyun stared at you with an amused look. "Really? Last time I checked, I carried you when you jumped from the tree and the night you got drunk, I am the who carried you."

"You didn't have to mention that tree thing." You grumbled, making him chuckle where you whined afterwards. "It's not funny!"

He sighed looking up and before you knew it, you were off the bench, in his arms as he picked you up in bridal style making you squeal.

You stared at him in surprise tightening your grip around his neck. "Baek! What are you doing? Put me down! I was joking!"

"Too bad, I wasn't." He said as he began to walk with you in his arms. "Now, check if this Ajjusshi is strong or not."

"Gosh, everyone is looking."

"Who cares?"

You smiled, blushing and stared at him who was walking casually not caring about anything before your face turned into a frown. "Am I not heavy?"

He looked at you slightly smirking. "Should I be honest?"

You rolled your eyes wriggling from his grip. "Put me down."

"Okay, Okay!" He laughed loudly and you smiled instantly hearing your favorite laugh. His laugh. His smile. Him. All of it.

And literally who cares? Because the most important thing was this beautiful moment you were living in.

10:12 am

Bunch of cosmetics scattered on your dressing table and your phone against the mirror as you were watching a makeup tutorial video and doing the makeup as well for the first time. Right now, you were really missing your bestfriend as she was the incharge of doing your makeup and all but here you were struggling with this but at the same time, you have to do it by yourself someday.

It was the day of Rose's wedding and you were getting ready as Baekhyun would be here at any time to pick you up. Standing up, you sighed staring at your reflection in the mirror up to down and nodded in satisfication.

The peach colored A-line dress hugged your figure perfectly reaching down to your knees and your hair slightly curled from the tips with your natural makeup matching well with your attire.

"Y/n, here, I brought you this earrings." Your mom walked inside and instantly gasped making you turn to her confused. "My daughter look so beautiful."

"Really?" You chuckled as she nodded before helping you wear the earrings. "Mom, are these earrings from that online shop? You shopped again? Does dad know?"

She smiled sheepishly shaking her head and hushed you. "It's a secret between us."

You just smiled shaking your head as she always buys some things but doesn't wear it and your dad always finds it in his wardrobe packed which made him question her but your mom being herself, always said that she won't buy it again but always does opposite.

You got a notification in your phone and it was from Baekhyun saying that he's down waiting for you.

"Go, don't make my Son in law wait." Your mom said handing you your purse and you gave her a look before walking out.

And there he was, standing in a blue suit paired up with white shirt tucked in and his hair styled upwards while a Rolex watch wrapped around his wrist and all you could say was perfect.

How can someone look so good at whatever he wears?

Baekhyun was talking to Alaric who was on his way out as while visiting you often, he has gotten along well with them. As he bid bye to him, his head snapped towards your direction and his heart stopped for a second.

You slowly approached him with a confused look. "Why? Is it weird? I did my makeup for the first time, is it that bad?"

Baekhyun who was busy staring at you with an amazed expression. "Do you.. Do you have to look this beautiful?"

You bit your lip preventing yourself from smiling and blushing before putting a serious expression. "Then, what about you? Why are you looking so handsome? Who are you going to impress?"

Baekhyun smiled at your indirect compliment and chuckled. "Me? I have only one person to impress, my Girlfriend. Who is looking too gorgeous for me to look away."

"Stop!" You whined passing by him hiding your blushing state as you approached his car and heard his ever so cute giggle from behind.

"Why? Did I make your heart flutter again?" He tilted his head cutely looking at you over your shoulder and smiling widely causing you to smile back at him.

He opened the door as always being a gentleman before you both drove off to your destination.

The car came to halt at your destination and you both got out as Baekhyun stretched out his hand for you where you hold his hand before making your way inside.

As you both entered inside, the wedding hall was well decorated and you spotted Jack standing at the front with his family. You both went to him and he immediately smiled engulfing Baekhyun in a hug while waved at you as you congratulated him.

Not long before, you both went inside the bride room where you saw Rose all dressed up in a white gown looking so pretty.

Noticing you two, she instantly squealed smiling widely. "You're finally here!"

You giggled and instantly hugged her before pulling away. "Rose, you look really beautiful."

She giggled. "Thank you and you look stunning as always."

You waved it off giggling before hearing a sound of Ahem behind you as Baekhyun stood beside you. "I'm also here."

"Oh, were you?" She teased him making him roll his eyes and he congratulated her before your eyes suddenly got covered by a hand making you flinch.

"Oh? Who... Wait.. This hand feels like Ria's but.." You muttered before the hand got removed and you blinked instantly adjusting to the sight before the person jumped infront of you.

"Surprise!"

"Ria!" You gasped immediately engulfing her in a hug before pulling away surprised. "How did you? You were still in town though."

"Well, Rose personally invited me so how can I not come?" She placed her hands on her hips smiling. "I wanted to surprise you too so didn't tell you and here I am."

You turned to see Baekhyun looking unfazed and you frowned. "You knew?"

He nodded. "She asked me to."

You looked back at her pouting. "You should have told me! Do you know how much I was struggling with the makeup!"

"Ooh~ Let me see." She held your chin checking you face while Rose and Baekhyun were exchanging looks before Ria nodded. "You have done a great job."

"Of course, She's my girlfriend." Baekhyun suddenly spoke behind you making Ria and Rose to give him a done look while you just shook your head at his smiling face.

"Chanyeol is out right? I'll go to him."

He walked out leaving you behind with these two ladies before you turned to Ria confused. "Chanyeol Sunbae came too?"

She nodded. "Of course, I have a date too. And he also picked me up from the airport and it was so romantic when I jumped on him hugging him like whooosh.. Just like a drama."

You just rolled your eyes while Rose gasped. "I also want to do that."

"I know right! It's so romantic!" Ria squealed with Rose and you chuckled at them before the photographer took the picture of you three.

As he was done, they both looked at you where you gave them a question look. "What?"

"What about you?"

You smiled mischievously. "Secret."

They both groaned rolling their eyes and you giggled before you and Ria walked out in the hall as the ceremony was about to begin.

You both found your table and settled there while watching your boyfriend having a conversation with Jack. Ria opened her camera and took some pictures with you before getting busy in herself while you took time to stare at your Boyfriend with his famous posture of having his hand in his pocket while talking.

And only a fool would let go of this chance to take a snap of him and you weren't one. Opening the camera, you snapped some pictures smiling and suddenly his eyes locked with your camera making you startle but instead of looking away, he just tilted his head smilingly gesturing to take more.

You bit your lip giggling and looked at him directly as you both exchanged a smile before you kept your phone back after taking like hundred snaps of him. As the host announced the arrival of the bride, both Boys made their way to the table where you waved Chanyeol and Baekhyun sat beside you casually poking your cheek.

The door of the hall opened as the slow music was played in the background and then Rose walked down the aisle elegantly with her arm linked with her father. Jack was awestruck to see her and got emotional as you could see the tears in his eyes before Rose aproached her and the ceremony was begun.

Soon, the priest announced them as husband and wife before it was finally the time of congratulating song.

You held Baekhyun's hand as he squeezed it feeling nervous and you gave him a encouraging smile before he walked to the stage. He stood infront of the newlywed couple and you also stood up at the side of the stage just behind them where he could see you clearly.

As the sound of piano erupted and chorused in the whole silent hall, he uttered the sweet melody with his honey like voice.

Your favorite voice.

Will I be able to smile without you?

Just thinking about it makes me cry,

Now I will protect you.

The person who protected me throughout my hard times,

As he took a brief breath in the middle where his eyes locked with you and he stared at you ever so lovingly like the whole melody was for you and you found yourself tearing up.

He finished the song where lots of claps were made including you and he giving the couple shy smile, he aproached you as his hands instantly stopped around your waist.

"That was beautiful." You stroke his arm softly and he chuckled. "Thank you but your mascara is smudged."

You chuckled before looking back for your bestfriend, only to find her with the newlywed couple with her Boyfriend. You brought your hand to clean it where Baekhyun grabbed a tissue from the nearby table and came to you.

He placed one hand on the back of your head gently with his other hand tilting up your face with your chin to clean your eyes while your hand fisted against his coat.

Immersed in the moment, and unaware of the photographer taking pictures of the guest where his eyes came across you couple and finding the moment soft, he captured it.

And soon, that picture was going to hang on the wall of your home.

Yixing knew that he needed to get out of the car. The engine still rumbled, giving away his presence. Inside the farmhouse, the others were waiting for him so they could carry out the “family meeting”. Yixing already knew what it was about. And he still hadn’t made up his mind on how – or even if – he was going to tell his pack that this whole situation might be his fault.

Seeing the front door open, Yixing cut the engine and jumped out. Baekhyun poked his head out the screen door. “Are you coming? Junmyeon’s started pacing!”

“Yeah, I’m coming,” Yixing murmured as he kicked his car door shut.

So many doors. So much opening and closing. And the most important one he’d slammed shut himself. He could still see the dejected look on your face more clearly than the steps in front of him. Why did he have to be like this? So noble and overly righteous? He had his mate in his hands and he pushed you away. He needed to keep you safe – but was distance really the right way to do that?

Everyone else was already squished into the living room. There wasn’t much space in this area of the house, which was why they usually had meetings in the kitchen. Junmyeon must have been determined that no one be distracted by food or other easily reachable items.

Said alpha gave Yixing a very pointed look as the latter made his way to the back of the room, squeezing in between Chanyeol and Minseok against the wall.

“Everything okay?” Minseok asked quietly. Yixing nodded, but Chanyeol still threw a concerned glance his way.

“Alright, now that everyone is here,” again with the classic scolding Junmyeon glance, “we need to have a serious talk. There was another attack-”

“Another one!” Jongin exclaimed. His mouth hung on its hinges as he glanced around the room.

“Yes. Thankfully, this one survived. And he might have seen the wolf that attacked him.”

Chatter broke out among the wolves. Some where ecstatic at the possibility of finally knowing who this killer might be. Others were thankful that the man survived. Guesses bounced around about what this rouge wolf could look like. Baekhyun enjoyed the idea of it being a bear-like wolf, larger than even Chanyeol or – he’d stopped himself before he said another name that would shift the mood of the room in a flash.

“Nah, I bet its weak and sickly,” Jongdae interjected.

“Red fur?��

“No, those are rare.”

“I bet it’s blonde and shrimpy like Jongdae.”

“Watch it, Sehun.”

The chatter grew, even with Junmyeon’s insistence that they quiet down. So many voices piled on top of each that finally Yixing couldn’t take their theories anymore.

“It was a gray wolf.”

Despite Yixing’s neutral and low tone, the rest of the pack heard. Immediate silence. All eyes turned to him in confusion. He kept his arms crossed over his chest with his own gaze down on the floor.

“That’s a boring guess,” Sehun grumbled.

“Its not a guess,” Yixing admitted. “That’s what the man said at the hospital.”

Junmyeon stared hard at Yixing. “How do you know that’s the man said?” Lifting his eyes up, Yixing hardened his features. Under his arms, his fists curled tightly, his nails digging into the skin with a dull pain. He’d opened another door. And he didn’t think he could close this one again. Junmyeon sighed. “Everyone out.”

Everyone was reluctant to move.

“Now!”

Feet scrambled and tripped over one another as everyone but Yixing ran out of the room and to the kitchen. Junmyeon hated being forceful like that, having to raise his voice at the others. It was no surprise that he immediately melted back into a calmer state.

“Yixing…” came his steady, yet authoritative voice. “Tell me everything. Please.”

Yixing took a deep breath. It was better this way. He hoped.

“I’ve been blacking out.”

“What?”

“They started around the same time the attacks did,” Yixing explained. “Sometimes I get a headache first. Sometimes it just happens. I lose time – hours usually. And then within that time, there’s an attack.” He could feel his throat closing in. It was more devastating than he’d pictured – telling the truth. He feared his pack turning on him, putting the blame on him, even if it was rightfully done. He’d always been the odd one out, the wolf with a different ancestry. He used to have others to relate to, but when they left….

“Have you ever woken up with blood on you?” Junmyeon asked cautiously.

“No.” A small miracle. There was one time, but he’d found the poor rabbit just a few feet away and the smells matched.

“There could be another explanation for this,” Junmyeon insisted.

Yixing wanted to believe him, but there was other evidence against the hope. “He said it was a gray wolf.”

“Its not that uncommon of a color.”

“But he was attacked right during another one of my blackouts.”

“And where were you?”

“I was in the forest. Running. Alone.”

Junmyeon frowned. “Why were you doing that?”

Yixing shrugged. “I was… happy. Things were going in a good direction with Ming. I just needed to let the energy out and I wanted to be alone….”

“And then a blackout?”

Yixing nodded. “I woke nearby. (Y/n) was the one who had found him. I’d heard her screaming. We took him to the hospital and then I saw (y/n) home.”

“Did you talk to the police?”

“Yeah. All I told them was that I was in the area next to the nature center and heard (y/n) scream.”

“They didn’t think it was odd that you were naked?”

Yixing cringed, embarrassed. “I had my pants on, (y/n) gave me her jacket-” his jacket - “so they didn’t question it.”

“And (y/n)?”

“I doubt she fully believed my hiking story.”

Junmyeon let out a full lung’s worth of a sigh. His shoulders were weighted down by the pressure to keep their existence a secret and also take care of his pack. Would he outcast Yixing to protect the rest? Yixing wanted to cling to the hope that that wouldn’t be the case, but there was always a chance.

Stepping forward, Junmyeon placed a hand on Yixing’s shoulder. A smile, strained but reassuring, crept on his face. “We’ll figure this out. I don’t believe it’s you, but something bigger might be happening. Don’t go through this alone anymore, okay?”

As expected, a rumbling off footsteps shook the floor. Seven pairs arm wrapped around Junmyeon and Yixing.

“Why didn’t you tell us sooner?” Baekhyun whined.

“We could have helped you,” Chanyeol jumped in.

“You don’t have to do this alone,” Minseok agreed.

Yixing smiled, but said nothing. He still wasn’t sure if he’d made the right decision in revealing his condition. There was no telling what lied at the end of this road – either Yixing would be free to live his life with you or he would be outcast from the pack with a heavy conscious.

“Did I miss something?”

All heads snapped to the front parlor. Ji Yeon stood in the entryway with a coffee cup in one hand and her laptop bag in the other. Small chuckles echoed around the room as the group shifted away from each other. Even Yixing gave off a short laugh. It was a nice release, but now that meant Ji Yeon would need to be made aware of the current situation, adding to Yixing’s fear. As Minseok shuffled closer to his mate, Yixing slipped out of the room, wondering when he would be able to be close to his own mate again.

It was one thing to think about personal issues on personal time. It was another to stop coming to class altogether. And for once, it wasn’t you avoiding the problem.

You had gone to class like normal, even though you were fully aware that a certain someone would – or, at least, should – be sitting in his usual seat when you arrived. You weren’t surprised at all when he hadn’t found you to walk you from class to class. That was to be expected after the abrupt ending to your last encounter. But him skipping class altogether was unexpected. Yixing was a dutiful student. Being in class was important. And yet, his seat was conspicuously empty when you stepped into the lab.

It was suffice to say that you were a little put out by his avoidance. You had conceded to the idea that you were going to suffer through having to sit next to him all class period and yet, all your panicking and worry was for not.

Maybe this was secretly a good thing. Maybe you would be able to concentrate better with the table to yourself.

That was not the case.

While you tried to concentrate on Professor Jiang’s lecture, your mind kept wondering back to Yixing.

Was he okay? Was he avoiding you? Had he dropped the class for good? Because of you?

What were the “things” that he needed to figure out? Were you right in thinking that he had a girlfriend off campus? Or was something else going on? Family things?

Your head was spinning with all the different possibilities. You might have heard a few technical terms during the lecture, but none of it sunk in. The pencil in your hand hardly scribbled across the notepad. Words floated meaningless from the textbook.

When Professor Jiang ended the session, you closed the textbook with a hard slam. Many eyes turned to you in shocked curiosity.

“Sorry,” you mumbled as you quickly packed away the rest of your supplies. Keeping your head down, you rushed out of the classroom and through the halls until you were outside under the cloud-hidden sun.

Finding a bench, you sat down, leaning forward on your knees as your eyes trailed over the cracked concrete sidewalk. That period was a dud, you were sure of that. At some point you would have to squeeze in extra study time to make up for the inability to control your attention. It was all Yixing’s fault. He was the one who had kissed you and then left. A few times you had unlocked your phone to call him, but never went through with it. You didn’t want to come off as desperate or clingy. You were trying not to care. In the past, you never had before. There was no reason for Yixing to be any different.

Except that he was.

You felt a bit… broken. Or perhaps rejected was the right word. There was a lot going on inside you that it was hard to pinpoint the exact emotions. Those words were both exaggerated and not enough in their explanations.

Deciding that you were done with this oddly out of character pity party, you stood up and continued walking until you’d left the campus grounds all together and crossed the street in the direction of your apartment.

Ran was home when you walked through the door. Her music – vibrating loudly through the miniature Bluetooth next to her on the floor – drowned out your steps into the living room. Spread out around her were notebooks, textbooks, different colored pens and a half-filled coffee mug. A one-person study session. She jumped when she finally noticed you. “Oh, hey!” She reached over and turned down the music so it was now at a low background noise level. “What are you doing already?”

“I wasn’t feeling too well,” you lied. She believed you since you were sure you looked the part. “I thought it might be best to come home and lie down.”

Ran jokingly cringed away from you. “Ew, don’t get me sick. I have plans with Hae In this weekend.”

“I don’t think it’s a bug or anything. My body might just be rebelling against lack of sleep.” Surely Ran had heard your tossing and turning the last several nights.

“Hey,” Ran caught you attention again before you could escape to your room. “So, uh, did anything happen between you and that Yixing guy after I left?” She wiggled her eyebrows playfully.

You shook your head. “No. We talked about class a bit and then he went home. Family emergency or something like that.”

“Hm. Interesting. Well, take it form me, he definitely likes you.”

“I doubt that.”

“No, seriously.” Ran took a sip from the mug, flinched at the now probably lukewarm liquid, and then put it back down. “The way he was looking at you, he likes you. A lot. I think you should give him a chance.”

You chewed on her observations. “I’ll think about it.”

Safe in the four walls of your tiny room, you curled up on your bed with your back against the headboard. As wonderful as sleep sounded and even with Ran now keeping her music at a more manageable level, you doubted your brain would be able to shut off. To try and be distracted by something, you logged into the “Dream University’s” website to check your status.

Still waitlisted. Okay. This was fine. You weren’t actually expecting any change. You just wanted something to do. You were growing antsy. Coming home might not have actually been the best idea. It was the walk itself that had been helpful, freeing for your mind. Now that you were still again, you were back to where you were in the classroom. Unfortunately, the overthinking anxiety wouldn’t let you just get up and go – not with Ran still in the living room. Did it make any sense? Absolutely not. Did that matter? Nope.

About twenty minutes or so went by with you simply scrolling through social media until you heard the music stop and the rustling of the school supplies being picked up. After five minutes of clean up, the front door opened and then closed again. Just to be extra sure that Ran was gone for good, you watched the clock on your phone click by for ten minutes.

Now you were able to leave.

Wrapping up in a jacket (not Yixing’s), you checked your pockets for all the essentials and then headed out the door.

It was back to the nature center for you. It probably wasn’t the smartest place to go given your last adventure in the park, but it had nice winding trails and there would be people around – at a distance, that is.

The clouds were still heavy in the sky when you arrived. Not to the point where they threatened rain, but enough to color the world a dull gray. Squirrels dotted along the path. Their bellies were round and full, telling you that the locals had been feeding them despite the signs that clearly advised against it. Some were brave enough or curious enough to come close to you, but scurried away as soon as it was clear that you were not one of the gracious humans that bestowed them fluffy bread.

Letting your feet guide you along the asphalt path, you let yourself be absorbed in the trees. Your mind still wander towards Yixing, but you didn’t fight it anymore. You were hoping that overexposure would lead to a numbness, an immunity. But he wasn’t a disease attacking your body, he was just a boy. A cute, dimple-smiled boy who made you feel at ease.

Crack!

You snapped your head up at the sudden sound. You half expected a bunny to come hopping out of the side bushes, letting you laugh at yourself. But it wasn’t a bunny twenty feet off the trail.

It was a wolf.

A gray wolf. Just like the hiker said. And it was staring right at you.

Scanning the area, you searched for the closest route to the main center, but you were too far in. This was exactly why you avoided the woods!

You vaguely remembered the advice not to run because then the wolf would treat you like prey. It always sounded like stupid advice. Even more so now as the creature charged in your direction. You charged off the path in the opposite direction of the wolf, pushing the air out of your lungs and screaming as loud as you could.

“Are you sure it was around here?”

Yixing threw Junmyeon a look. “Yes. I’m sure.”

The two wolves were currently trotting through the woods to find the spot where Yixing had found the man and Ming. Junmyeon wanted a better look at the scene in the off chance he might get a better intact of the scent left behind. Each time they’d gone looking for answers in the past, the scent had been too old and dulled to really pick it apart. They were probably too late now, but they’d spent the last few days at the farmhouse, keeping an eye on Yixing to see if another blackout would occur. It hadn’t, much to Junmyeon’s disappointment.

“It was close to the nature center,” Yixing explained once again. They’d come from the north, rather than straight from the center. Yixing had hoped that he’d have a better insight to the location. They were getting warmer.

A sudden twig snap made their human ears perk up.

“Could that be--”

“It was probably just a rabbit,” Junmyeon guessed.

As if to prove him wrong, the snap was followed by a wolf’s rumbling howl. And then a high pitched scream.

Yixing gasped. He knew that scream.

“That’s (y/n)!”

Junmyeon looked at him, unconvinced. “Are you sure?”

Yixing’s response was a ferocious growl as he took off without his alpha. A wolf always knows his mate.
