Delano sounds like Corpse Husband.

Daxton sounds like JelloApocalyse.

Aino sounds like SnapCube.

Asahi's singing voice is like Mother Mother's. Haven't decided on his speaking voice, though.

Kaarlo sounds like Gerard Butler. Gerard would also be Kaarlo's faceclaim, if I used real people as icons.

Orlando sounds like Naveen Andrews. Same with Gerard, would be a faceclaim if I used real people.

Kaliko sounds like Silver Hare.

EDIT: I forgot Blaire! She sounds like Loretta (Kemushichan).

I dunno if you've been asked this but out of your muses, who do you think is the best singer?

Makoto. She sings for a living, after all.

Beside her, Delano also has a pleasant singing voice and Asahi, although his singing style is kind of unpolished on purpose, can also sing pretty well.

Honorable mentions also go to Orlando (but you have to be at least friendship level five to hear him sing), Daxton's little sister (who's not on this blog but I want to bring her up anyway), Cii (no voiceclaim, soz) and Nursimo.

Since Aala (Aino’s mother) died, Kaarlo hasn’t dated anyone for as long as Aino can remember. Aino would be super down with a stepparent by now, which is why she sometimes tries to wingman for her father.

Since I already started momposting, here’s Kaarlo’s mothers (Aino’s grandmothers) and Aino’s late mother.

Hele is from Estonia. She likes gardening. She was a piano teacher, but she’s retired now. Kaarlo and Aino both take a lot after her.

Irma, by contrast, is very serious and stern. She’s a thaumaturgist (a person who studies magic) and she met Hele when she was on a work trip in Estonia. It was love at first sight on Irma’s part and she told Hele that she’d marry her someday.

Aala and Kaarlo met when they were on a work trip. Aala’s family didn’t approve of the marriage because elves think that monogamous relationships are barbaric and because Kaarlo is a human. When Aala died, their family confiscated the body and had a private funeral where Kaarlo wasn’t invited to. Kaarlo still doesn’t know where Aala’s grave is.

Father’s day heddy cans

Aino bakes a cake with her grandmothers for Kaarlo. Kaarlo, having two mothers but being a father himself, just kicks back and chills.

Blaire and Harrison also have two moms, but they do get small gifts for their sperm donors. I should draw the family tree and detail the dynamic sometime...

Daxton calls his dad. They’re on good terms.

Delano has mixed feelings. On one hand, he misses his dad and wonders if he should try to find him and contact him after all these years. But on the other, he fears that if he does go through all that trouble, he’ll only find out that his father died years ago. But even if his father was alive, how would he act around him? How would his father act? How could they even begin to work past their respective baggage? He’s not sure if he wants to open the Schrödinger’s box.

Lorenzo and Orlando’s family are dead, so they just visit the graves and spend the rest of the day distracting themselves.

What smells bring back specific memories to your oc? What are those memories like?

Delano ate steak right before his assault so he can’t stand the smell of steak to this day. It’s also kind of conflicting to him because he needs a lot of protein to keep up his physique.

Harrison gets uneasy when he smells dry moss because it was a sunny day in the middle of the summer when the dragon attacked him.

These are always so sad;; Here’s something happy for a change: the smell of lilacs reminds Kaarlo of when he met Aala (Aino’s mom).

How would you describe your oc’s voice? Do they have an accent? Do you have any voice claims for them?

Delano’s voice claim is Corpse Husband. He’s perfect for Delano. Deep as hell voice, gravelly, monotone, sounds dead inside, the energy is perfect. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Harrison’s voice I’ve had a really hard time pinning down, but I think BrutalMoose could be a good fit. Moose has that really soothing and calm style of speaking that fits Harrison. The only thing that’s different that Harrison’s accent would be... Something, alright. English is his fifth language, so I’d think he has an accent thicker than a bowl of oatmeal.

I’ve modeled Kaarlo after Gerard Butler so why not use him as a voice claim too. Just with a Finnish accent.

Loretta could fit Blaire, although quieter. She’s very shy and anxious and that reflects in her voice.

I don’t have a voice claim for Aino, but her voice is very clear and peppy. It’s also kind of androgynous because she’s trans, but not so much so that she’d get clocked for her voice. She also has a Finnish accent.

Rahul Kohli is Nursimo’s voiceclaim, although with an Atlantic accent, the kind of accent that people get when they carefully train to not have an accent.

Naveen Andrews is Orlando’s voiceclaim, just a bit deeper, the same voice he uses for Sayid in Lost. His accent is a mix of Arabian and Italian.

How does your oc view housework? Do they absolutely hate it? Do they enjoy having their surroundings neat and tidy or do they not notice?

Enjoy tidying: Deger, Harrison, Orlando

It’s just a chore: Blaire, Aino, Cii, Kaliko, Lorenzo, Makoto, Delano

Don’t like it: Daxton, Lillith

Completely forget to clean and need to be prompted to: Kaarlo, Anh, Nursimo, Callum

Callum, Deger, Cii, Kaarlo, Anh and Nursimo are ones who can stand clutter and mess. Harrison can stand mess around him, but he’d rather have his spaces in order. Orlando, Lorenzo, Aino and Kaliko can’t stand messy environments. 

Lorenzo has some obsessive compulsive tendencies and a mild fear of dirt and dust. Orlando finds tidying really meditative and almost therapeutic. They have divided the housework between the two of them according to what each likes/is able to do. Lorenzo vacuums and does the laundry, Orlando does the dishes and cleans the bathroom.

Delano’s apartment looks really neat at a first glance, but if you look even a little bit closer, you’ll notice that it’s pretty dusty and the only reason his stuff isn’t everywhere is because he just doesn’t have much stuff to begin with. His living space is really minimal and sad.

Kaarlo has the privilege of living with three women (two of whom are his moms) who clean for him, so his absent-minded thaumaturgist tendencies usually are made up by them. Unless Irma loses her temper and slaps him over the head.

🔪 - How does your muse go about their job?

Delano approaches his job(s) with borderline apathy. They're just means for him to pay his bills, buy food and fill his time.

For Anh, Kaarlo and Nursimo, though, their jobs are their passions. They love what they do and they have a hard time putting their work down for free time.

Describe their family. Who raised them, and who had the most impact on them? Did they have any siblings? Who were they closest to? What were the family dynamics like?

Delano was (or was not) raised by his father, but since he had some severe mental health problems, he was... absent at best. This started the slippery slope of Delano acting out -> getting into fights -> getting into foster care -> meeting that one woman who assaulted him -> The Rage Years -> burn out on emotions -> etc. Still, Delano doesn’t really blame his father on what his life became.

Aino’s situation is kind of the same as Delano’s, her mother died when she was really young and her father also fell into depression. The difference with Aino, though, is that Kaarlo realized what was happening sooner and reached out to his mothers. Kaarlo and Aino then moved in with Kaarlo’s mothers, so Aino grew up with her dad and grandmothers. Aino was always close to Hele especially because she was supportive when Aino wanted to grow her hair out and wanted to be called Aino and said that she’s a girl.

Blaire and Harrison’s parents are a plumber and a CEO. Even when Harrison was sick for most of his childhood, they didn’t forget about Blaire and neglect her. They love both of their children equally. That’s all what I have of Blaire and Harrison’s moms, tbh.

I haven’t really thought of Lorenzo and Orlando’s family beyond that they were a family of mercenaries and assassins and that they died when a monster broke into the family home and slaughtered everyone except Lorenzo and Orlando... I’d imagine that they were outwardly stern, but when they’d have family conferences or other events when they’d gather together (weddings, parties, etc), they’d get as normal and warm as any other family. Work hard, play hard type of people.

How much has your oc traveled? Why is this? Would they like to travel more? Or are they perfectly fine with staying home?

Harrison has travelled a lot. For a lot of his early life, he travelled (with his moms, although later he travelled without them) to seek a cure for his antimagic. It was actually on one of these trips when he got attacked by a dragon and yote out of his universe.

Kaarlo and Orlando have also travelled around for their work. One’s work is more legal than the other’s, though.

Delano’s travelling is verse-dependant. In pokemon verse, he moved from Unova to Kanto, but in other verses he can’t afford travelling.
