Hyper Projection Engeki Haikyuu - The Tokyo Battle
Cast Comments published in the Feb. 4th, 2019 issue of Shounen Jump (x) This month features comments from Fukurodani cast members!
Fukurodani Academy - Sakuraba Haruto as Bokuto Koutarou I have the privilege of playing Bokuto Koutarou of Fukurodani Academy, I’m Sakuraba Haruto! At last the battle for advancement to Spring High unfolds in Tokyo! This match was super exciting in the manga too, and I have a scene that I personally really love, and I think it’s a match where you can see all of Bokuto’s good points and the chinks in his armor. So I’m going to dedicate my body and soul so that my passion can reach all the way back to the furthest seats and make the air tremble! We’re definitely going to win and claim a ticket to Nationals, so please look forward to it!
Fukurodani Academy - Takasaki Shungo as Akaashi Keiji This production, “The Tokyo Battle,” is going to be the first Engeki Haikyuu tour without Karasuno, who have built up the production up to this point. For me personally, this will be my second tour with Engeki Haikyuu, and although I still feel like a newbie, I’m determined to take up this challenge. We’ll enter a new era in the midst of our tour* so it’ll become a production that crosses over from one era to the next. Even as the Heisei era ends, everything is connected, and I think I want to make that a theme for this production.
*In 2019, the Heisei era will come to an end on April 30th, with the abdication of the current emperor Akihito, and a new era will be named as his son Naruhito ascends to the chrysanthemum throne.
Fukurodani Academy - Higashi Takumi as Konoha Akinori I have the privilege of playing one of Fukurodani Academy’s wing spikers, Konoha Akinori, I’m Higashi Takumi. My first appearance with Engeki Haikyuu was back during “Summer of Evolution.” And now I’m very happy to be able to stand on-stage as Konoha Akinori once again. I want to fight to the very end of “The Tokyo Battle” as a proud member of Fukurodani Academy, as Konoha Akinori. Please give us your support.

S/o being followed and stalked|| Headcanons
Akaashi,Atsumu,Iwaizumi, Ushijima
Akaashi:
Finished with work you were ready to go home, unfortunately Akaashi had practice so he couldn’t come visit
Walking home you felt someone following you
Turning around couple of times no one was behind you, maybe it was paranoia
No one was on the streets except for you
Turning your head once more you see a group of men following you
You started to speed up your pace so did they, then you started to run to the nearest store you could find
They were running too trying to catch up to you which scared you a lot
Getting out your phone when you got to the store immediately calling Akaashi
Akaashi just finished practice and was talking to Konoha and Bokuto about their next game
His phone rings and he quickly answers it
“Hey love” “Akaashi I’m at a store and some guys are following me and I don’t know what to do” your voice trembled, Akaashi immediately turned pale, Bokuto and Konoha started to get worried watching Akaashi shakes in anxiety and anger
“Stay right there, I’m going to come get you send me your location” hanging up the phone rushing to get his stuff
“Akaashi what’s wrong!” Konoha stops him, “a group of men are following y/n”
everyone heard and got their stuff ready following Akaashi out, running to the place you were at
At the distance they could see the group of men waiting outside, it was already 8 pm and they were already drunk
Akaashi let’s out a venomous scoff
The team slowed down their pace and acted nothing was happening as they entered
Washio was holding Bokuto off who wanted to beat them up
“Let me fight them” “bokuto no”
Akaashi lost his cool and looked for you in each aisle to find you holding onto your bag staring at a random vending machine
“Y/n” Akaashi started to clam himself knowing you’re safe, “Keiji”
Running into his arms where he held onto you tightly, “y/n” he whispers lowly, holding onto you
His whole team looked so relieved once seeing you, “you scared us!” Bokuto pinches your cheek scolding you almost
“You’re hurting her dumbass” Sarukui pushes him away
“Okay time to plan and loose those losers” they formed a huddle and whispered
The plan was for everyone to buy snacks and make a leave
Akaashi gave you his jacket holding your hand tightly
His team surrounded you so they wouldn’t see you
The group of men didn’t notice at all and still thought you were in the store
“You’re not walking home by yourself anymore” he kisses your knuckles taking you home where it was safe
Atsumu:
It’s been happening for days actually for months with the stalking, these group of boys would just stalk you but never harm you
Knowing Atsumu he would attack them and he would get in trouble in the end so you brushed it off because they haven’t tried to harm you
You don’t know them probably from another school but they smell like alcohol from a mile away
It was just another day walking down the streets going home
The same group was standing by the street lights hanging out
You try not to make eye contact and walk pass them quietly unfortunately today wasn’t your day “HEY you come here!” Which startled you a lot but ignored them
Unfortunately they didn’t get the memo and started to follow you by whistling at you
You started to fasten your pace, so did they
Taking your phone out of your bag quickly you dialed Atsumu who was in your emergency contacts
Atsumu was taking a break he was causally arguing with Osamu and Suna, getting a call he immediately picks up because it was you
“Hey baby girl” “Tsumu this group of guys are following me and I’m running please help” you huff out in panic, Atsumu could hear the whistles and shouts in the background that made him beyond furious gripping on to his phone tightly, everyone could see his knuckles turning white
“Go to an alleyway baby and send me your location try to lose them I’ll be right there!” He shouts
“What’s wrong Atsumu?” Kita stops him from going anywhere “let me go,a group of guys are following y/n” Letting Atsumu go, following along, dropping the balls for later not caring if their coach would yell at them
All of them rushed to your rescue, Atsumu was running little bit faster trying to get to your spot
Meanwhile you were hiding in the shadows but those boys are still looking for you and not leaving
Your phone rung, unfortunately they heard it and got ahold of you
They started to ask questions and holding onto your arm tightly causing a small bruise to form, you were trying to kick them away and fight back but they were much more stronger than you
“Leave me alone you idiots!” You gritted at them, throwing a kick
Before they could say any back
A punch was thrown at one of them, “don’t touch her” Atsumu and osamu pulled you towards them as Omimi and Hitoshi hold off that group with cold glares.
Holding them off
Kita tells them to never come around you or the team will find them
Scary I say super scary, Atsumu hugged you so tightly, “You are never walking alone ever again” he growled pulling you into a kiss, you could feel his beating heart “I promise” you hug him in pure relief
“Y/n have they been following you lately?” Kita asks, “yea almost stalking” Atsumu’s grips gets tighter
“You are never leaving my side” he growled kissing your forehead
Iwaizumi:
There were rumors about a stalker around school but everyone thinks it’s a rumor or a joke that one of the guys said to scare girls
It was the end of practice, you walked home with Iwaizumi half of the way since his house is at the other way with Oikawa and the rest of the team
“Okay I’ll see you guys later okay” you bid goodbye to them giving Iwaizumi a quick kiss goodbye making Oikawa gag
you had to make a quick stop at the store
Browsing through each aisle you felt someone staring at you
Ignoring that feeling you bought snacks for yourself, leaving the store almost immediately
Then suddenly you heard footsteps behind you, gulping a bit you decided to go somewhere else just in case
This person started to follow you to the short cut, you started jog a bit, only for him to speed up his pace
Knowing Iwaizumi is close by probably eating with his team
You run for it as fast you could and this guy won’t give up
Getting closer to the place the team usually are at, you see him and Oikawa talking to the team and laughing
“Iwa!” You shout, he turns around smiling at you only to see his smile fall, he could see the stalker behind you
Iwaizumi got up opening his arms wide open pulling you into his chest glaring at that guy who was behind you
The team gets up from their chairs, “excuse me sir do need something from our friend?” Oikawa asks glaring at him, everyone was. Kyotani was ready to fight this guy
Meanwhile Iwaizumi was holding on to your shaky body, kissing your head in reassurance, “I’m here baby no one will hurt you ever” he whispered holding on to you tightly
“Leave or I will make sure you loose all your teeth!” Iwaizumi shouted at the guy who didn’t even move, since he was just one against a whole group of boys
The stalker retreated and walked off causing Iwaizumi to rage but you held him tightly
“Don’t do anything please just stay with me” you begged which made him sigh and hug you
“We’ll walk you home every night okay y/n” Oikawa pats your head
“Tomorrow morning we should report this guy” Makki sighs looking at the distance where that guy left at
“Let’s go home okay”
Ushijima:
Since everyone had to leave the dorms for some reparations everyone had to walk to school now
Didn’t bother you much since you like walking
But recently weird things has been happening ever since your parents left town for two weeks
Weird letters and flowers has been sent to your doorstep
At first you thought it was from Ushijima which wasn’t, “it’s probably for someone else and probably and the delivery man mistaken the address” Tendou shrugged it off, maybe he was right Ushijima agreed but made him slightly irritated if it wasn’t a mistake
After a few days more flowers and a love letter appeared on your door step, you brought every letter to Toshi’s team to read it
“Whoa this guy is hooked” Semi read every letter and was amazed
“Throw them away” Ushijima gets up and starts to practice again, everyone started to wonder who is this secret admirer
It started to get worse, the flowers and even letters started to get scarier
But instead you ignored it, which was a bad idea
You walked home at the end of the day without Ushijima since he had late practice with the boys
You started to get chills down your spine, you made a few stops making sure you weren’t followed at all, taking double takes but as you pass a window of a shop you saw a reflection of a figure behind you which scared you
You had to keep calm and pretend nothing was happening, going to another store close by
This person followed you in as you pretended to browse for some snacks, taking out your phone and called Ushijima
“Hey y/n” he finally answered “hey Toshi are you almost at (name of store)?” “Y/n whats going on?” “You’ll be here soon? Okay great better hurry” there was a hidden message behind it, he knew it, wasn’t the usual way you talked to him. “Is that person behind you?” “Yea baby I’ll see you here”
Ushijima immediately grabbed his stuff, “whoa whoa Ushiwaka what’s wrong?” Tendou asks “there is a guy following y/n” “you mean that secret admirer?” Semi gasped, It take long for the rest to follow their captain out, he was quicker than them, yet they tried to stay at his pace
He finally made it and found you in the corner, “y/n” he says out of breath, “Toshi” you pull him into a hug trembling a bit
The guy that was following you left the store but as you watched the whole Shiratorizawa caught him and started to interrogate him
Tendo was ready to fight him, he was stopped by Ushijima
you behind him, he glared at the guy before him
“You should never make a girl feel unsafe and uncomfortable, never again will you follow or try to talk to my girlfriend again got it”
The guy started stumbling back trying to get up
Semi told Ushijima to bring you home while the rest went to report him
Ushijima took you home hugging which made you cling to him; he didn’t mind
He stayed at your house for a few days till your parents got home “even if you’re parents are back you will wait for me after practice no matter what” he kisses your forehead, cheek, lips, nose
“I will”

Hello can i request a scenarios for Kuroo, Oikawa, Bokuto who is dating with top volleyball player and when they tell it to the team, they just laugh or called him delulu but one day his fem!s/o shows up and the rest of team are like *shocked pikachu face*
Yessss bb!! This is a really cute request :)
Kuroo
With Kuroo I think he’s going to mention you so much that his team thinks he’s making you up to sound cool
He’s always bailing on hangouts bc “I’m hanging out with my girlfriend today.”
“Sorry, can't come to the study group because im studying with my girlfriend.”
“Me and my girlfriend went to this really good place the other day-”
Until finally his team decides to call him on it
“Oh let me guess,” Yaku says. “She goes to a different school?”
“Yeah, how’d you know?” Kuroo blinks
Even Kenma’s laughing now. “What’s her name then?”
“Y/n Y/ln, she plays volleyball too,” Kuroo grins.
“THE Y/N Y/L/N?!” Yamamoto yells. “Now I really don't believe you.”
“Who’s that?” Lev asks, looking around.
“She’s the top ace in the women’s division,” Yaku answers, squinting at Kuroo.
“And, super hot,” Yamamoto sighs. “I want her to spike a ball directly into my face.”
“I am never bringing her here,” Kuroo decides, watching Yamamoto practically drool.
“That’s convenient,” Kenma mutters under his breath, running away before Kuroo can make him practice more serves.
“Ah, Tetsu-chan!” You wave energetically from across the gym. “Did you just finish your game?”
Kuroo catches you easily when you jump at him to hug him, hefting you up so you can wrap your legs around his waist. He sets you down after a moment, taking in your flushed appearance and uniform.
“Yeah, did you?”
“Yes!” You’re practically bouncing. “We won! We’re going to semi-finals!”
“That’s my girl,” Kuroo grins, accepting your high five. “Us too.”
You wrap him up in another excited hug, rambling about your spikes from your game until someone clears their throat.
“Uh, Kuroo?” Lev asks, poking his shoulder.
“Oh, Lev,” Kuroo steps to the side. “This is my girlfriend, Y/n Y/ln.”
“Hi, nice to meet you,” you beam, shaking his hand eagerly.
Lev stammers out some sort of greeting before backing off and running to get Yaku.
“That was weird,” you blink. “Is he always like that?”
Kuroo is smirking mischievously. “Just about.”
“Kuroo! You were being serious?” Yaku stomps over. “Why didn’t you say?”
“I did. Repeatedly,” Kuroo snickers. “But you all said I was lying because she goes to a different school and is out of my league.”
“I mean, she is,” Yamamoto scoffs honestly, stepping forward to shake your hand. “Hi Y/ln-san, I’m a big fan.”
“Back off, you pervert,” Kuroo growls good-naturedly.
After meeting the rest of his dumbstruck team Kuroo drags you down the street to a small cafe for some postgame food.
“So, I’m out of your league, hm?” You ask, nudging Kuroo’s foot under the table.
“Uh, yeah,” Kuroo says. “Was that not obvious?”
Oikawa
After his last less than pleasant relationship he decides to keep you on the DL for a little longer than he usually would
So when he tells Iwaizumi who he’s dating, the guy can’t help his loud laughter
“Yeah, right Oikawa. I get you’re a hit with the ladies but I don’t believe that for second!”
He’s laughing so hard the rest of the team is starting to notice and wander over
“What’d Oikawa say that’s so funny?” Mattsun asks
Iwaizumi straightens up, wiping his eyes while still chuckling
“That he’s dating Y/n Y/ln,” he manages to get out before he doubles over again “And has been for the last few months.”
“Y/n Y/ln as in the number one libero in the women’s division?”
“Yes” Oikawa crosses his arms.
Oikawa glares at Iwaizumi, his expression growing increasingly offended when the rest of his team joins in with Iwa-Chan’s boisterous laughter
“Why would I lie about this? You guys are being mean!”
“I guess we have to start calling you Lyingkawa instead of Stupidkawa,” Iwaizumi wheezes,
Oikawa huffs, “Get back to practicing your spikes before I make you all run a mile.”
Is this the right gym? You look at Oikawa’s text again. He’d sent you his address just in case his practice ran a little late and this did seem like the right place. You peak through the window, grinning when you spot him.
Deciding it’s best not to distract him, you slide into the gym quietly and settle in a chair next to the door.
“Oh, are you looking someone?” One of the players asks.
“I’m okay, just waiting for Oikawa to finish up,” you replyr.
The spiky-haired man nods and then freezes, eyes growing wide. “Oikawa- hold on. Y/ln?”
“Erm, yes,” you smile. “Iwaizumi, right? Oikawa talks about you constantly. It’s always ‘mean Iwa-chan did this’ or “Iwa-chan hit me with a volleyball!” Iwaizumi flushes. “I’m sorry, I didn't think he was being serious when he said you were his girlfriend.”
“Y/n-chan!” Oikawa runs across the gym. “You’re early!”
“No, Tooru, you're running late,” you correct him with a knowing smile, standing up to kiss his cheek.
Oikawa blinks and checks the time, face falling when he sees the time. “I didn't realize.”
“Don’t worry, love, I was expecting it,” you laugh softly.
The rest of his team has walked over during the exchange and were currently exchanging varying expressions of shock and confusion.
“Oh, I’ll introduce you,” Oikawa beams, taking your hand. “Team, this is Y/n Y/ln. My lovely girlfriend!”
You wave, an easy-going smile on your face. After all, Oikawa talked about them so much it felt like you already knew them. “Nice to meet you guys.”
“You’re actually his girlfriend?” A light haired boy asks.
“Makki,” Oikawa scolds. “Don’t be rude.”
“I take it Tooru hasn't mentioned me,” you laugh, shouldering your boyfriend with feigned offense.
“No he has, we just didn't believe him.” Mattsun admits, rubbing the back of his neck.
Oikawa shoos them away after that, insisting he has places to be.
“So,” you hum, now at the ramen shop. “Care to tell me why no one believed I was your girlfriend.”
Oikawa snorts. “Because they think, and I’m dead serious, that you're too cool for me. Being the number one libero and all that.”
“Well, at least they were right about that,” you sigh.
“Not you too!” Oikawa pouts.
Bokuto
Now like Kuroo he talks about you to the team except even more. He is constantly gushing about you and how you both play volleyball and how talented you are
The only reason his team doesn’t believe him is because they can't imagine someone other than Akaashi being able to handle Bokuto
So they think you probably consider him as just a friend and he’s definitely overthinking the friendship y'all have
“So, Bokuto-san, do you have plans?”Akaashi asks as they clean up after practice.
“Yeah! I’’m going to Y/n’s house and we’re watching movies.” He says excitedly
“Y/n, your girlfriend,” Akaashi says slowly. He knows how excitable Bokuto is and doesn’t want the guy getting his feelings hurt bc he misunderstood the situation
“Yes, my girlfriend,” Bokuto replies. “Have I not mentioned that?”
“No, no, you have.” Akaashi hums. “Are we ever going to meet her?”
“Her schedules pretty busy considering she also plays volleyball.”
“Are we talking about Bokuto’s ‘girlfriend’ again?” Konoha walks over with a shit-eating grin. “What position does she play?”
Bokuto perks up, happy to brag about you. “She’s a setter! She’s super good, like one of the best in the women’s division.”
Akaashi pauses, quickly connecting the dots. “Y/n Y/ln?”
“Yeah! You’ve heard of her?” Bokuto tilts his head.
“Uh, yeah, Bokuto-san. She’s the number one setter in the prefecture.” Akaashi says, looking back at Konoha. Akaashi actually enjoyed watching her matches to get ideas for his own setting.
“She’s your girlfriend?” Konoha asks incredulously. “Like, girlfriend girlfriend.”
“Yes, I’ve said that,” Bokuto smiles, walking away oblivious to the doubtful look shared between Akaashi and Konoha.
The entire team knows Bokuto’s got another date after practice because he keeps mentioning it every chance he gets. Akaashi and Konoha share a look every time Bokuto talks about you, 15 times and counting. They’re still convinced Bokuto has completely misread the situation and are tense at the prospect of meeting you.
“Hey, hey, hey! Y/n!” Bokuto yells excitedly, immediately dropping the ball he was going to put away.
He rushes across the gym and sweeps you up in a hug that pulls you off your feet. “I already know where we’re getting food, okay? And I found this milkshake place that looks super yummy.”
“Kou, please put me down,” you giggle, tapping his shoulder. “I'd like to meet your teammates.”
“Oh, right! Of course,” he sets you down, still grinning excitedly. “Guys, this is Y/n. The girlfriend I’ve talked about so much.”
So, he’s actually got a girlfriend, Akaashi thinks with a small smile. He’s relieved that Bokuto hadn't been confused.
“Y/ln-san, its really nice to meet you,” he says. “You’re an excellent server, I enjoy watching your games.”
“Oh, wow,” you flush. “That’s super flattering, thank you, Akaashi.”
Bokuto beams, glad to see you and his best friend getting along. The other teammates file through with their greetings until Bokuto is bouncing with impatience.
“Okay, okay let’s go eat! I’m starving,” he complains, grabbing your hand and dragging you out of the gym.
“Bye, it was nice meeting you all!” You manage to wave goodbye as Bokuto pulls you away.
“So, he’s actually got a girlfriend.” Konoha comes up beside Akaashi. “I’m kinda jealous. She’s a catch.”
“She seems good for Bokuto-san,” Akaashi says thoughtfully. “I’m happy for him.”

when their teammate exposes their feelings for you ༘♡ ·
ft. suna and akaashi
SUNA RINTARŌ
He would do anything for the twins to not find out
He trusted Ginjima and Ginjima ONLY.
SunaGin best friend supremacy 😔
Anyways
Since you’re close friends with Ginjima, he often asks the latter for candid pics of you
Of course you didn’t know who Ginjima was talking about when he asked if he could share your candid photos to his friend
You thought he was talking about the twins because they were close, but you also thought no because he said ‘friend’ and not ‘friends’
In the end you allowed him anyway because you trust him
Gin good boi
Okay but like... imagine Baker Suna
I think he knows how to bake sweets, so he always makes some for his sister who has a sweet tooth
Though he makes more for himself with the excuse that he’s the one who made it, when in reality he’s giving you the sweets
Almost everyday when you open your locker, there are always sweets inside with a very cute note
Your friends tease you that it’s probably Osamu because he’s good when it comes to food
You thought so too, although you didn’t minded it a lot because Osamu wasn’t the guy you liked
It was Suna
Even though Suna is a complete simp for you, he is very subtle when it comes to his own feelings
He’s an unintentionally tease too. When he talks to girls, it sounds so romantic
He writes letters for you, with the pen name “fox onigiri”
It was sort of dumb of him to add onigiri because it made you think it was Osamu
So you gave Osamu hints
Home boy was ??? and decided to do the same by flirting with you (with no romantic feelings)
Suna was STRESSED.
So he asked Osamu if he likes Y/N
Again Osamu was confused
He said no and it relieved Suna
It relieved Suna too much that he let out an sigh of relief
It caught up Osamu and ATSUMU... they were smart so they quickly realized that Suna liked you
When Suna realized what he had done, his love life was over
Or so he thought
Instead of teasing him for it, they helped him
Actually they teased him but that was out of the picture
So yup they helped him
In the most unhelpful way
When Suna was in the middle of saying how much he liked you, you told him “i know”
And Suna was confused what
You then explained to him that Atsumu had already told you beforehand that Suna is going to confess to you
Bruh Suna was so done
But that was okay because you two were together now :)
Suna did the same to Atsumu’s crush and the result is the same lmfao
AKAASHI KEIJI
Who are you and why are you so lucky
You two are best friends
He was scared about losing the friendship between you two
ESPECIALLY because he knew you liked someone from his team when he asked you if you have a crush on anyone
And he thought of Bokuto
Even Konoha
Because a lot of female second years are CRUSHING on him
He kept his feelings subtle, but that did not stopped him from giving you random gifts on random days
He did not even bother keeping himself anonymous, he gave it to you DIRECTLY
But you were oblivious of his feelings, so you thought he was just being friendly
You two are smart, but when it comes to love... no comment
In return, you make cutely-made bentos for Akaashi
He LOVES it
His classmates are highkey jealous of the two of you
They thought you guys were dating (it looked too obvious yet it doesn’t because you two weren’t dating in the first place)
You even bring him his jacket when he forgets (it happens rarely tho)
Usually, you bring it to him asap like when he’s the first one in the locker room or he’s near the gym
But this time, you had to run an errand for your teacher so you arrived while they were stretching
Then when you called for Akaashi, Konoha blurted out “Ah, about time you introduce your girlfriend to us, Akaashi? It took you a long time for you to confess”
“What?”
What
In the end, Konoha was one of the people who thought you two were dating
Akaashi confessed to you right after practice, and he was over the moon when you reciprocated his feelings
So you two were now official :)

Haikyuu boys - Pretending to be your boyfriend
Akaashi Keiji
Summary: Oneshot stories of random situations where the boys pretend to be your boyfriends, but y’all also kinda like each other?
Pairings: Akaashi Keiji x Gn!reader (I tried my best to make it gn, if there are any mistakes though, please let me know)
Genre: Fluff?
Word count: 6.4k words
Warnings: Mild cursing
Becoming close friends with Bokuto when you got into Fukurōdani Academy a year ago was probably one of the best accidents that happened to you since you moved into town. Because you weren't very extroverted and had a hard time making friends whenever you got into a new school or was put in a social situation, you thought moving to Fukurōdani meant that you'd become an outcast once again. That, however, totally changed when you were assigned a seat next to Bokuto in class on your first day. And ever since then, you've been as close as ever. You can also definitely say that, because of him, it was much easier and much more comfortable for you to put yourself out there and be able to make friends and get along with many different people. You couldn't even express the amount of appreciation you felt towards him for helping you through it all. But, its moments like these that you just question if you should feel thankful or just straight up want to kill him. Your right leg shakes as you anxiously wait for the bell of your last class to ring. ‘Just a few more minutes’ you think to yourself. And surely, a couple of minutes later, the bell rings. You hurriedly grab your things and wave goodbye to your friends as you leave class. "Really? Nothing??" You exclaim as you look at your phone to see if Bokuto replied to any of your messages or calls. "Fine then" you say as you head to the gym, where you know he definitely would be.
-~-~-
You open the gym door slowly, and try to look for Bokuto. Your eyes scan the gym for any signs of him and then you spot him standing and talking to some of the guys from the volleyball team. ‘Gotcha’ you think as you make your way to him. You greet some of the guys on the team as you pass through the gym court to get to Bokuto. "Hey Bo!" you loudly call on him as you cross your arms while facing his back.
You see him stiffen and start turning around slowly, the boys laughing and wishing him luck. They probably know he’s done some shit again this time, and frankly, they're not surprised.
“Oh hey, y/n,” he scratches the back of his head nervously, “what brings you here?” he asks innocently.
“Oh, just missing you,” you answer. You see his shoulders relax and take another step towards him, “and wondering why you haven't been answering my texts or calls”
He puts on an innocent smile on his face and reaches for your head, ruffling your hair and trying to hug you “Oh, you're missing me? You’re missing your daily dose of Bokuto to re-energize your-” you swat his hand away before he finishes his sentence.
“Stop trying to act cute,” you say as you start fixing your hair, “explain”
“Oh, my bad, did you text me? I was just busy with practice and all, didn’t have time to check my phone.”
“Since yesterday?” you ask, unamused.
“Yesterday? Hmmm...” he pretends to start thinking about the last time he checked his phone.
“Quit it, I know you’ve been avoiding me and haven't started working on your part of our history project”
He gives you puppy dog eyes and reaches for your arm in a way where you know he means “can you help me with it?”
“It’s due in 3 days, you know that, right?” you ask, unamused, yet again.
His round, golden eyes don’t waver as he silently begs you to give in.
‘Goddammit, why does he have to be so cute’
You sigh, “fine”
He immediately gets excited and raises his fists in the air as if he won a game.
“But just this once, idiot” you say, and you can’t help but smile at how excited he gets.
“You say that every time, you know” you hear Konoha say teasingly and you send him a glare.
He quickly raises his arms as if to say “sorry” and you laugh.
You turn your attention to Bokuto again, “Today, after practice, I'll be waiting for you at our usual café, do you understand?”
“Sure, sure,” he says as he drags you to the court, “now toss me a ball, let me show you how much better my spike has gotten!” he exclaims excitedly and you can't help but give in, yet again.
A couple of minutes after you start tossing balls for Bokuto to spike, you feel someone staring at you. You turn around and notice it was Akaashi, but he looks away as soon as you notice him and continues chatting with another team member.
You grab another ball to toss Bokuto, “You know, I still don’t think Akaashi necessarily likes me” you quietly tell him.
He looks at you confused, “Here we go again, why do you think that?” he asks as he spikes another ball you threw his way.
“I don’t know, I always feel like he’s glaring at me when I look at him” you say slightly disappointed, “do you think I accidently did something wrong to annoy him?”
Somehow, you always found it hard to talk to him or get close to him. And it wasn’t a surprise since you weren’t the most extroverted person, but you were still able to get along with most people, just, not really, him.
“Hey, I'm sure that it’s just all in your head, he doesn’t hate you” Bokuto says as he waits for you to toss him another ball.
“It’s just so hard to read him, I can never know what he’s thinking”
“Then just ask him”
“It’s not that easy, you know”
“Why would it not be easy? What? Do you like him or something?” Bokuto says teasingly.
Skip
Your heart skips a beat.
‘What? Me liking him? That’s ridiculous’
I mean he’s very attractive, don’t get me wrong. He has the most beautiful eyes you’ve ever seen. And your eyes can't help but follow him when watching the team play during matches. He always looks focused and serious and h-
‘What am I even thinking right now?’ you curse yourself in your head and turn to answer Bokuto but find him with a surprised look on his face.
“Wait! DO YOU ACTUALLY LIKE-” Bokuto yells before you put your hand on his mouth to stop him from finishing his sentence.
“OH MY GOD, NO!” you whisper yell before you turn around, and once again you see Akaashi turn his head away.
“No, stop being a weirdo” you tell Bokuto again as you remove your hand from over his mouth, hoping nobody heard what you guys were yelling about.
He eyes you suspiciously for a few seconds before asking you to toss him another ball.
“Well anyways, I don’t want my two best friends to be awkward around each other, so you guys better start getting along” he says as he spikes another ball.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” you sigh, relieved that Bokuto isn't pressing on the matter any further.
‘Wait, why are you even relieved, it's not like you actually like him’ you think and unintentionally laugh out loud.
“Hey weirdo, stop laughing and keep tossing the ball”
You spend a few more minutes tossing the ball for Bokuto before leaving to get your stuff ready to meet him at your usual café nearby.
-~-~-
You check your phone as soon as you get in the café.
1 NEW MESSAGE FROM ‘Baka-to’: “Sorry! With coach! Be there in 15 mins!”
You sigh.
“Didn’t expect much from the king of tardiness,” you say to yourself quietly as you chuckle and find a seat for the both of you.
You sit at your usual booth and start taking out your laptop and other books you need to help with the project.
You hear the café bell jingle and you look up instinctively to see who came in.
‘Fuck’ you think as you look away and try to hide yourself when you notice your ex walk in with some of his friends.
You try to hide behind your laptop, “he didn’t see me, he didn’t see me” you quietly tell yourself but hear him excusing himself from his friends, “he didn’t see me...”
You feel someone towering over you and you look up from your laptop.
“Hey y/n”
‘Goddammit... not now’
“Hey Azami” you reply as you put on a fake smile.
“What're you doing here?” he asks as he rudely takes a seat in front of you.
“What do you want, Azami?” you say getting frustrated and ignoring his question.
“Ouch,” he says pretending to be fake hurt and laughs. When he notices that you haven't even cracked a smile, he continues, “you haven't been answering my calls or texts”
“Well, we did break up months ago, and I told you not to contact me anymore, so I don’t know what you were expecting” you answer annoyed and check your phone to see if Bokuto sent you anymore messages about when he was getting there.
“I already apologized for what I did, y/n,” he starts, “it didn’t mean anything, I swe-”
You cut him off, “okay, I don’t have time for this,” you say getting fed up already, and you get up and start packing your stuff.
He grabs your wrist, “Wait, let me expl-”
“Don’t touch me!” you exclaim as you cut him off again and try to get him to let go of your wrist.
“You’re not even listening to me, I-” he is cut off once again, but this time it wasn’t you.
Someone grabs his wrist and snatches it off yours.
You look up and notice Akaashi standing next to you, “Is there a problem here?” he asks in a serious tone. Even with his unreadable face, this time you can feel how serious and annoyed he looked.
‘What is he doing here now’ you think, feeling embarrassed that he caught you in this awkward situation.
Out of any situation you could've been in, this is how you guys accidentally run into each other. Figures.
Azami quietly chuckles, visibly annoyed, “I’m just tryna talk to y/n, so,” he glares at Akaashi, but keeps an innocent smile on his face. He then looks back at you and before he says anything he gets cut off, once again.
“Well, it seems like y/n doesn’t want to talk to you right now, so,” Akaashi replies back.
“What’re you? The boyfriend or something?” he says seemingly getting more annoyed.
“Yes” you reply without thinking and curse yourself in your head.
You just wanted Azami to leave quickly and you didn’t think about it when you answered.
‘Stupid, stupid, stupid, why would you even say yes’
You feel Akaashi stiffen and both of them snap their heads at you.
You look at Akaashi apologetically and turn to face Azami, “So just leave us alone, will you?” you try to confidently say, and hope Azami hasn’t noticed the confused look on Akaashi’s face.
Azami just stares between the both of you for a few moments before he sighs in frustration, “Listen, I just wanted to talk to you and apologize again, about everything, so answer my calls sometime, alright?” he says as he turns around and goes back to his friends before you get the chance to reject his request.
As soon as he leaves, you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.
‘At least he’s gone, for now’ you sigh to yourself.
“Oh,” your head snaps to Akaashi, and notice him still looking at you, “I’m really sorry about that” you tell him embarrassed and look down.
“It’s fine” he sighs and takes the seat opposite of yours.
You look at him confused before you sit down again, placing your bag back down next to you, “Wait, what are you doing here?”
“Bokuto told me you wanted to meet us here” he says casually and starts looking over the menu in front of him.
“Me?” you ask, even more confused, and he just looks up at you.
‘Fuck, he has such pretty eyes’ you think to yourself.
‘Wait what am I even thinking right now’ you curse yourself again and look away, feeling your face turn a bit red.
“Was I not invited?” you hear him ask, disrupting you from your thoughts.
“No, it's not that-!” you answer quickly.
“I’ll go order something then, you want anything?” Akaashi says as he gets up.
You feel a pair of eyes staring at you. You turn and find Azami glaring at the both of you. He doesn’t even turn away when you notice, and just smirks.
“I’ll come with,” you tell Akaashi as you get up as well.
He just nods and you head to the counter.
You tell the barista your order and then Akaashi starts ordering.
You can’t help but feel eyes on you again and you turn to Azami.
But this time Akaashi steps back and blocks your line of sight and you look up at him.
“You know, if you want him to stop looking, you should stop as well” he says as he looks at you with his piercing blue eyes.
You feel yourself slightly blush under his gaze and look away as soon as you notice how close your faces were.
“Yeah, you’re right...” you answer quietly and try to look at him from the corner of your eye. You notice him smirking.
After your orders were paid for and done, you grab your drinks and walk back to your booth.
It gets quiet, except for the occasional sips you both take from your drinks.
You awkwardly shift in your seat and feel the need to break the silence.
“Thanks, by the way,” you start and he looks up from his drink, “for you know, helping me out, and not saying anything about not being my actual boyfriend”
“It’s nothing,” he says casually as he looks out the window next to your booth, and you can't help but notice a small blush appearing on his cheek.
‘What... what even kind of expression is that? He looks so fucking cute? I didn’t even know he can make that kind of expressi-’
“Hey kids!” you hear someone say as they run over to you, dragging you back to reality, and making you choke on your drink as you notice what you were even thinking about.
Both you and Akaashi notice it’s Bokuto when he gets to your table, then he pushes you to the inside booth seat.
“How are my best friends getting along with each other?” he asks you excitedly.
‘Ah, so that was his lame plan of getting us to get along better?’ you shake your head at him.
“Hey Bo, I thought we have a history project to finish here” you glare at him and he smiles innocently.
“I thought Akaashi could help us as well, considering we have so little time” Bokuto tells you, getting even more excited for some reason.
‘Ah... if only he knew he actually put Akaashi and I in an even more awkward situation than we were in before’
“Uhm... I’m actually pretty bad at history...” Akaashi quietly mentions as he looks at you and awkwardly scratches the back of his head.
You couldn’t help but chuckle at how cute he looked right then.
Both of them look at you confused.
“Anyways, we should start, shouldn’t we?” You ask Bokuto and he just sadly sighs.
-~-~-
A couple of hours pass by as you try to finish the project but you were all sharing laughs and jokes in between, which would explain why it was definitely taking more time than is needed for it to be done.
But honestly, it was the first time you felt like you and Akaashi were getting along easily, so even though you were annoyed with Bokuto inviting him without telling you, you were still grateful it gave you both a chance to get to know each other better, or just enjoy each other's company.
It wasn’t much, it wasn’t like all of a sudden, you became besties, but it was definitely better than before, when you both could barely keep a conversation going.
It was mostly the both of you sharing funny and embarrassing situations you’ve been through with Bokuto, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. And honestly being able to get a laugh or two from Akaashi, definitely made it worth it.
‘No wait, why did I even think that’
“Excuse me guys, I'll just head to the restroom for a bit” you say as you look at Bokuto, motioning him to let you out of the booth.
“Nooo... don’t leaveee! The story’s just about to get better!” he whines as you push him off his seat to leave the booth.
“I'm literally coming back,” you shake your head and look at Akaashi, “Keep him in check while I'm away, yeah?”
Akaashi just chuckles and nods while Bokuto pouts at you.
“Come backk!” you hear Bokuto jokingly cry as you head to the restroom area and you shake your head at him.
You pass through the café to a hallway where the restrooms are located and feel someone grab your wrist, “Bo, I literally told you I'm gonna go ba-” you turn around and notice your ex standing there instead.
You instantly stiffen and push his hand off your wrist.
“Stop touching me” you snap at him.
He looks down, “I'm sorry, y/n, I just honestly want you to know that whatever you saw happen with that girl at the party, wasn’t my fault. She pushed herself on me! I promise!” he desperately pleads.
As bad as you wanted to feel pity for him, you couldn’t. “That doesn’t explain the texts, DMs, and everything else you did while we were still together. We both know that probably wasn’t the first time you did it. It was just the first time you got caught.”
He looked up at you, speechless for a moment, “But I've changed now, it’s different” he says as he slowly tries to reach for your hand once again.
“Okay, that’s enough,” you hear someone say sternly, then you notice Akaashi walking up behind Azami and puts a hand on his shoulder, stopping him from grabbing your hand again.
“Babe, you should go ahead” Akaashi says as he nods to the restroom area.
Skip
You nod, and Akaashi just shoots you a soft smile before Azami pushes Akaashi's hand off his shoulder. You turn around and slowly run to the restrooms.
You wash your face.
Once.
Twice.
‘Babe?’
‘Did he really just say babe?’
‘And why did your heart skip a beat again when he did??’
You wash your face again and look up at the mirror above the sink.
‘And why the hell are you getting flustered like this?’
You chuckle at yourself.
“This is ridiculous,” you sigh to yourself as you turn off the tap, “you don’t actually like him, do you?” you ask yourself as you look at the mirror again.
I mean that might explain why you found it hard to talk to him at school, or trying to keep the conversation going when you did. Maybe it wasn’t him that was the problem, it was... you?
“I’m just overthinking this,” you sigh to yourself again.
You grab a paper towel and dry your face off.
“Okay,” you clear your throat as you reach for the door handle, “don't overthink things, you're barely even friends as is” you whisper to yourself as you open the door.
You notice Akaashi leaning against the wall in the hallway where you left him and Azami earlier. He looks like he’s intently thinking about something.
‘Pretty...’
Skip
You clear your throat as you close the door behind you, which looks like it also snapped his attention back to you and you notice him smile softly.
‘Don’t smile at me like that...’
“Were you waiting for something?” you ask him as you slowly walk to him.
“Yeah, you” he says as he straightens up and turns back to head to the café.
Skip

It was starting to get late, and you and Bokuto were almost done with the history project at that point, after hours of half working and half messing around with each other and Akaashi.
Even though at the beginning, you were iffy and kind of annoyed with Bokuto for sneakily inviting Akaashi without telling you, you couldn’t help but feel thankful for him because it turned out to be a fun hangout.
Even though your ex was there, and usually, even the thought of him would sour your mood, if not your whole day, this time you actually felt somewhat safe? You knew that Akaashi was definitely the reason for that, even with the occasional feeling of stares you felt, it didn’t really bother you as much.
Though this hangout made you also realize you might have a thing for Akaashi, you tried to push that thought away every time your thoughts wandered.
I mean you guys were finally getting along, and you didn’t want to jeopardize this blooming friendship between you guys for something stupid, like your heart skipping a beat every time he would look at you and smile, or the way he laughed, or the accidental touches you would have when he would point out something on your laptop screen.
That would just be stupid.
“Alright Bo, all you have left is to add the citations at the end of the report. I saved all the sites and documents we used here” you tell him as you point on the screen.
“Y/n, you literally are a life-saver!” Bokuto exclaims as he jumps on you for a hug.
Your eyes accidentally land on Akaashi and you notice him looking annoyed as he looks at Bokuto. Your eyes meet and he looks away.
‘I’m just making this up in my head at this point, right?’
“Alright, alright, Bo! Get off!” you chuckle as you push him off you, “Just please promise me you'll finish your part in our final project on time”
“No promises” you hear Bokuto quietly say.
“HEY!” you laugh as you hit him on the back of his head.
“I’m joking, don’t hate me~” he laughs as he links his arm with yours.
“Stop trying to be cute” you say, pretending to be annoyed with him.
“Yeah, stop that” Akaashi says seriously as he continues to look away and take a sip from his drink.
‘Is he actually pouting right now?’
“Why are you pouting right now?” Bokuto asks Akaashi, as if he heard my thoughts.
“I’m not” Akaashi says finally looking up.
Bokuto just shrugs it off, but doesn’t notice the slight blush on Akaashi’s cheeks.
“Anyways,” Bokuto checks his watch, and his eyes go wide, “Oh my god, its 11pm already, I have early practice tomorrow!”
“We’re done anyways, so you can go” you tell him.
“But... I won't be able to walk you to your dorm...” Bokuto says as he pouts.
“Hey its fine, it isn't far anyways, I can walk back alone-”
“I’ll walk you back,” Akaashi interjects out of nowhere.
Me and Bokuto both look at him.
“No, it’s fine, I can-” you try to reply but get cut off again
“Right, you both live in the same student dorm accommodation, don’t you?” Bokuto says as he suddenly remembers.
‘Do we?’
You don’t think you've ever seen him go there, though they usually do finish volleyball practice late so, that might be the case.
“Yeah, we do” Akaashi replies casually.
“That’s perfect, thanks Akaashi, look after y/n for me, would you?” Bokuto says and Akaashi nods as a reply.
“Guys, seriously, I'm ok-”
“Alright, I’ll see you guys tomorrow,” Bokuto says as he gets up and hurriedly grabs his things, “and y/n, send me the project with the links so I can finish it off later, alright?”
I nod and he excitedly runs for the door before he waves us a final goodbye.
You sigh as you check the time on your phone, “time passed by really fast, huh?” you say to yourself but you hear Akaashi agree with you.
I guess time really does go fast when you're having fun, and honestly, you really didn’t want the night to end yet.
You turn to Akaashi as you get up and start packing your things.
“How did you know we live in the same dorm accommodation? I don’t remember ever seeing you go there” you ask him curiously.
“Bokuto mentioned you stay there a couple of times,” he continued, “and I usually go there late, around this time maybe? When I'm done with practice or schoolwork”
Ah... just as you thought...
“You really don’t have to walk me back, by the way, it’s fine” you say. Though that’s not true, you were kind of happy he offered.
You cursed that thought.
“We are going the same way anyway, wouldn’t hurt to make sure you get home safe while I'm at it” he says as he smiles at you.
Skip
‘Get that sweet smile off your face right now’
“Thanks,” you say as you look away flustered.
You hear him chuckle.
‘Is he purposely teasing me right now?’
“Why are you laughing?” you eye him curiously.
“You just look cute, when you get all flustered” he says smiling as he grabs the rest of your books from the table.
“I'm- I'm not flustered!” you say, quite flustered.
He chuckles even louder this time.
“Whatever” you say quietly, as you look away from him, pouting.
“Ready to go?” Akaashi asks when you grab everything.
You nod and try to take your books from him.
He just moves back, and takes the bag you were holding instead and throws it over his shoulder.
“Let’s go,” he says as he starts walking to the door.
You try to catch up with him, feeling confused.
He opens the door and motions you to leave first, as he smiles.
You walk out the door and he follows you right after.
You keep following him with a confused look on your face and he nods towards the café, where you find your ex staring at you both.
“Oh... I didn’t even notice he was still there” you say quietly.
“I guess thats a good thing, right?” Akaashi smiles at you, and you both start walking to your student dorm accommodation.
When you’re finally out of your ex’s sight, you reach for your bag again.
Akaashi doesn’t let go of it, however.
“It’s fine, he can't see us anymore” you tell him.
“I’m sure you’re tired, I don’t mind holding your things” he replies casually.
Skip
‘Ahh... stop being so nice to me, I can’t handle it’
“It feels like I’m taking advantage of you now” you reply sadly.
He just chuckles, “I want to do it, you're not forcing me”
You sigh.
“I wanna apologize,” you start and Akaashi just looks at you, “and thank you again for helping me out today”
“It’s no big deal,” he looks back straight ahead “I'm glad I could help”
You walk for a few minutes in comfortable silence, when Akaashi speaks up again.
“I accidently overheard you guys,” he looks at you again and you look at him confused, “in the hallway, when you talked about what happened between the both of you”
“Oh...” you sigh as you look back on the street ahead of you.
“Hey, you did nothing wrong you know,” he continues, “actually, I find it quite attractive that you stood your ground and didn’t stay, or fall for his sorry bullshit”
Skip
‘Not right now, stupid heart’
“Thanks,” you say trying to sound calm but you can feel your heart beating fast.
‘Did he just say he found me attractive? No wait, he said he found the action attractive... but I mean, if you think about it, it was me who did the action so-’
Your thoughts were interrupted when you felt Akaashi gently grab your hand to stop you.
“Hey, you okay?” He asks worriedly, “I’m sorry if I brought up something you didn’t wanna talk about, I don’t even know why I mentioned it, I was-”
“No, it's fine,” you interrupt his rambling, it wasn’t like it was his fault your ex was there. If anything, he helped you get your mind off of it all. “I was just thinking about something else” you say as you look down and notice his hand was still holding yours.
Skip
‘oh my god, oh my god, oh my god’
He lets go of your hand as soon as he notices you staring at it, “sorry,” you hear him mumble as he starts walking again.
‘What are you 5? SNAP OUT OF IT’
You run to catch up to him and notice a small blush on his cheeks even though he was trying to look away from you, and you couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Why are you laughing?” he says as he looks at you.
“You just look cute, when you get all flustered” you say, quoting his line.
“Hey, you can't use my line against me” he pouts, and you couldn’t help but chuckle again, and he joins in seconds later.
After about ten minutes of walking, and small talk, you get to your dorm building.
‘Dammit... I wish it were further’
“So,” you sigh as you stop and turn around in front of Akaashi, “this is me, I guess.”
‘Stop me, stop me, I know it’s late but stop me...’
“Right,” he says and you notice him hesitate.
You mentally sigh.
“Yeah, well, I guess I'll see you tomorrow” you smile and he nods.
You turn around and start walking to the building.
“Wait!” you hear Akaashi call out.
‘Yes!’
You turn around excitedly and notice Akaashi taking off your bag to hand it to you with your books.
‘Wow, I'm a fucking idiot’
“Right, I forgot,” you say and chuckle nervously. He smiles as he hands you your things.
You shove the books in your bag, and throw it over your shoulder, slightly disappointed.
“I’ll see you tomorrow,” you manage to smile then turn around, embarrassed and try to rush to get inside the building.
You then feel him grab your hand and gently pull you back, “Wait,” he says again, before you accidentally bump into each other in the process of him turning you around to face him.
“Sorry,” he quickly says and pulls you into his chest before you start to fall back from the force of the both of you bumping into each other.
Skip
He takes a step back, “You okay? Sorry if I pulled you too hard” he asks you worriedly as he stares into your eyes.
‘I told you not to look at me like that...’
“It’s okay, I’m fine” you say as you quickly look down, flustered, and notice him, for the second time that evening, holding your hand.
‘It’s so warm, I don’t wanna let go...’ you think before your thoughts are interrupted with him trying to let go of your hand as soon as he probably noticed you staring at it again.
“Sor-” he starts before you boldly grab hold of his hand again, not allowing him to let go.
‘Why... why did I just do that??’
You feel your face heating up, but you don’t feel him letting go. You slowly try to look up at him and notice his face turned away.
‘Is his face red right now as well?’
It was too dark to fully tell but you were sure there was a tinge of red on his cheeks.
Skip
You didn’t want to let go but you were too embarrassed, and you weren't even sure if he felt anything or was just standing there shocked or flustered.
“Uhm, my bad...” you say flustered, and try to let go of his hand this time.
“Fuck it,” you hear him whisper to himself, but it was still audible to you. Probably because it was so late and nobody can be seen or heard outside, in that moment everything was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop.
He interlocked his hand with yours before you had the chance to let go and pulled you to his chest again.
You look up at him, shocked, and you were met with his piercing blue eyes yet again.
Skip
‘So close... So pre-’
“Pretty” you hear him whisper, as if he was completing your thought.
‘Wait, is he talking about me?’
You feel your face heat up again, and your heart beat like crazy, not that it died down since the last few minutes.
You see him smile softly, “you’re getting all flustered again” he says with a smirk on his face.
“Are you teasing me again?” you say looking away as you try to push him back but he pulls you back again.
“No,” he chuckles and you can feel his free hand touching the red of your cheeks, “It’s cute”
Skip Skip Skip Skip
You meet his piercing gaze again with a look of bemusement on your face. And this time you can see it much clearer, the redness of his cheeks as well.
‘What’s happening right now, there’s no way he...’
You feel his hand cupping your face before you get to finish that thought.
“You can tell me to stop, if you don’t like this,” he says, staring at your lips, as he slowly starts leaning down.
Skip Skip Skip Skip
He stops right before your lips meet; and you can feel the warmth of his breath against your lips.
He looks back at your eyes for a moment, and when he doesn’t see any hesitation coming from you, he closes the space between your lips.
You close your eyes and feel the warmth of his lips travel like a shiver all across your body. You could swear that if he wasn’t holding you this close, you would've passed out.
It wasn’t even deep, it was short, warm and sweet, but somehow you feel like it was something you’ve been waiting for, for a very long time.
After a few seconds, he pulls away and you open your eyes, dazed.
You notice him smiling and then he bites his lip, “I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now, actually” he says quietly as he stares into your eyes.
You somehow feel your face get even hotter, “same” you quietly whisper.
You notice you said it out loud and you quickly cover your mouth with your free hand.
He chuckles, and you push him back lightly, “You’re teasing me now” you tell him as you look away, pouting.
“I’m not, I promise,” he says as he guides your face with his free hand back to face him, “I mean it.”
“I thought you didn’t like me...”
“Me?” he asks, looking confused.
“I don’t know, I'd always find you glaring at me when we pass in the school halls, or whenever I'm with Bo during lunch or during his practices...”
He just chuckles softly, “I guess I understand why you’d think that,” he says, looking like he’s thinking seriously about it, “I think, I just found it hard trying to get close to you, or try and get your attention. I mean, you're friends with Bokuto for god’s sake, the king of attention,” he says and you couldn’t help but chuckle.
‘That is true, no one can beat Bokuto at attention seeking’
“And by the way,” he continues, “I wasn’t glaring, I was admiring”
Skip
You look away, getting flustered again and you hear him chuckle. “I swear you're doing this on purpose” you sigh and you hear him chuckle louder.
You look down and notice his hand still intertwined with yours, but this time he doesn’t let go when he notices you staring.
‘This is too much for my heart right now.’
‘If this is a dream, however, then I don’t want to wake up yet...’
“I should, head back now, though. It's... getting late, so...” you say as you look back at him.
“Right,” he says as you both slowly start to let go of each other's hand, “I can, uh, pick you up before school, tomorrow, you know, so we can go there together, if you'd like” he says, or asks(?) as he scratches the back of his head.
‘God, he’s so fucking cute...’
“Sure,” you answer him, trying to sound cool and calm on the outside but you're actually freaking out on the inside.
“Alright,” he says looking happy, and he nods towards your dorm building, “I’ll watch you go in”
“Alright,” you don’t really know how to say goodbye, so you just turn around and take a few steps towards the building
‘Do it coward. I mean you just kissed why are you even getting embarrassed now. Wait did we just kiss??? Okay don’t go off topic, just... fuck it’
You turn back and run to where Akaashi’s standing, he looks at you confused but you just reach for his face and place a kiss on his cheek.
You feel him stiffen at first but then relax as he gives you a flustered chuckle, “BYE!” you half scream before you run into the dorm building without looking back.
As soon as you reach your room, you throw your bag on the floor, jump on your bed and start screaming onto your pillow.
After a few minutes of you trying to calm yourself down, you flip over and stare at your ceiling.
‘I can’t believe this just happened...’
You take out your phone to text Bo, not necessarily to tell him what happened, but to share your excitement, and you notice 2 new text messages.
2 NEW MESSAGES
You open the first one.
FROM ‘Baka-to’: “Hey, idiot, did you get home safe? You still haven't texted me. Anyways sorry for surprising you with Akaashi today, I just definitely thought you guys would get along, and you did, didn’t you? Didn’t I do well? Hohohoho anyways text me back, idiot”
You shake your head at him, but cant help but agree.
REPLY TO ‘Baka-to’: “You were right, as always, I love you dumbo. And I got home in one piece, no worries”
You then open the second message.
FROM ‘Akaashi Keiji’: “Hey pretty, I’ll be waiting for you at 6:30 a.m tomorrow morning, see you then. Sleep tight”
You grab your pillow again and scream into it.
‘I never want to wake up from this dream’ you think as you slowly drift to sleep.

best boyfriend series | bokuto
A/N: thank you very much bri for making this banner after I gave up! We all know bokuto is the worlds best boyfriend, and if you don’t agree I hope this convinces you!
Tags: @bakugoustanaccount @hoekaashi
I got really carried away with the backstory aha oops
‧͙⁺˚*·༓☾ ☽༓·*˚⁺‧͙
- You and bokuto meet your first year of high school, you happen to get stuck together during orientation and you like his talkative extroverted nature
- You end up being in the same homeroom together while you situate yourself in a seat near the back of the class by the window bokuto makes his way over to you and sits down next to you
- You guys shared one other class, science, one of your better subjects and one of his worst, so you spend lots of time helping him understand the work
- The humour flows really well between the two of you, you enjoy his company as much as he enjoys yours and more than once you guys get called out for goofing off too much
- Lots of moments are spent where he’s making you laugh so hard you have to keep it all in and your cheeks burn from how hard you’re smiling
- You guys text each other outside of class, he asks for help doing the english homework which results in you guys calling each other and laughing over him pronouncing the vocabulary
- He finds your laugh the cutest thing he’s ever heard and goes out of his way to make you laugh ever opportunity he has
- He asks you to come to a few of his volleyball practices - to show off obviously- he lives for the praise you give him but you know this so you often tease him for his mistakes just to see him pout although you’re always sure to remind him that he’s talented
- During his games when he nails a really good spike he’ll search you out in the crowd after and seeing you cheer him on excitedly makes him feel like he could play 100 matches and not get tired
- It’s the end of his second year when bokuto begins to realize that he likes you as more than a friend, that the erratic beating of his heart is because he has feelings for you that go deeper than platonic friendship it makes him nervous
- He starts to notice the things he didn’t pay attention to before like the way you bite your bottom lip when you’re deep in concentration or the way your eyes shine when he makes you laugh
- The nervous shy smile you get when he pulls you into him so you don’t get bumped into in crowded spaces
- He’s never gotten jealous over another guy touching you before but Konoha clearly trying to flirt with you sparks something in him to make you his
-Bokuto starts to think about how his life would be if you weren’t in it and comes to the realization that you’re different from his other friends, he sees you as something more but he’s scared to ruin the relationship you have and doesn’t think you would ever think of him that way
- Spends the entire summer thinking about being in a relationship with you and there were many times he hyped himself up to text you and tell you but every time he backed out
- He doesn’t think you’re in his league, especially when you showed up on the first day of your third year looking like an absolute goddess, you guys hadn’t hung out at all that summer and he almost didn’t recognize you
- Your smile is different than before, it makes his whole body tingle with nervous excitement, its brighter like you’ve become more confident in yourself and he can see why
- He thinks you’re absolutely radiant
‧͙⁺˚*·༓☾ ☽༓·*˚⁺‧͙
- The day he asks you out comes when you’ve stayed late after school to work on a project
- You both finish at the same time, he insists on walking you home like he’s always done before
- You hadn’t planned on leaving this late and were met with a cold wind upon exiting the building
- Bokuto quickly bounded up to you offering you his volleyball jacket which you gladly took without a second thought, it was something you’d done a hundred times before but this time had Bokuto wishing that he could grab your small hand in his and pull you in for a kiss
- “Bo? You good?” you inquire waving your hand in front of his face calling his attention back to the present
- You notice that he’s fidgeting more than usual and he looks ..kinda constipated
- You were no stranger to calling Bokuto out when he started getting weird and in his head so you stopped walking and turned to face him telling him to spill whatever was on his mind
- Bokuto’s eyes widen clearly not expecting to have been called out so soon, you can see the uncharacteristic indecisiveness swimming in his eyes and it makes you start to feel uneasy
- You were expecting him to say something about not wanting to be friends anymore, you knew you had changed over the summer and maybe he didn’t like who you were now
- What you weren’t expecting was for him to practically scream a confession at you
- When he was done you both stared at each other, you not knowing what to say and in shock at the fact that the guy you’ve had a crush on for 3 years has confessed that he feels the same way you do
- Your silence is his eyes indicates rejection and he feels as though he’s been kicked in the gut but he tells you to forget what he said and shoves his hands in his sweater pockets mentally berating himself for being stupid enough to think you would like him back
- You reach out and grab his elbow stopping him from walking away, you don’t say anything and instead stand on your tiptoes to place the softest kiss on his lips
- Both of your faces heat up but neither of you move away from each other, you whisper that you like him too and have liked him for years and he can’t help but laugh in relief
- He pulls you into a hug and spins you around before holding your face in both his warm hands and kisses you again making your headspin and your heart race
- The next day all your friends are relieved when you show up to school holding hands claiming that watching the two of you pine over each other so obviously and not doing anything about it was painful
- Bokuto as your boyfriend!!!! finally
- Bokuto is your #1 hype man, for everything
- Doesn’t matter how big or small it is he’s always happy when you succeed
- Every time you post a selfie on instagram he’s always the first one to comment in all caps exclaiming how beautiful you look
- Also the kind of boyfriend to make you stop when you guys go out so he can a bunch of pictures of you, tells you to pose, tells you how pretty you look with the sun making your skin and eyes pop
- He kisses you every chance he gets, just peppers your face with kisses because his heart is overflowing with so much love for you that he doesn’t know what to do with himself other than to express it through kissing you
- Loves skin to skin contact, when you’re lying in bed together he’ll lift your shirt up and press your back against his chest with his arms cuddling your stomach
- Screenshots every snapchat you send him, even the ones you think are ugly because he thinks you always look beautiful especially when you’re being dorky
- He loves going for hikes, being the active person that he is he’d def be down for a lot of outdoor activities
- Kuroo still has the pictures on his phone from when you all went down to the lake for the weekend and Bokuto tipped your kayak over. At the time you had been anything but happy with your clothes and hair soaking wet but the memory of it now made you chuckle
- Your size difference is his favourite thing about the relationship, you’re so small you barely reach his shoulders and it makes him feel fuzzy inside knowing that only he gets to hold you close against his big beefy chest
- Insists on paying for literally e v e r y t h i n g
- It doesn't matter how much money you make, he always wants to treat you because you’re his baby, don't bother trying to fight with him bc you're going to lose
- Not only can he physically overpower you from being able to read the machine to pass your card but he’ll just pull some shit out like “can’t a guy treat his beautiful girlfriend?”
- If you mention in passing something you’ve been craving like food/candy/snacks etc he’ll go get it for you, if he notices you are looking at something you've been wanting to get yourself for a while but are hesitating bc its too expensive or you don't think you deserve it - you got it, he’s going to buy it for you
- Everyday is valentine’s day for Bokuto so there’s never a day you don’t feel loved and cherished, he buys you new flowers every week with a cute note attached saying something he loves about you
- On the actual day, he just sees it as an excuse to go all out for you, breakfast in bed, your favourite chocolates and/or candy waiting for you in the kitchen, obviously he’s gonna insist on waking you up with his favourite meal...if you know what I mean
- He insists on picking you up from work when he has the chance, especially if you’re working late
- When he has to leave early for practice he spends the few moments he has between waking up and getting dressed to cuddle you, buries his face in your neck and enjoys the sound of you snoring softly
- Always kisses you goodbye, one on your forehead and one on your lips
- Sends you a good morning text so you wake up to something happy because he knows you get sad when you wake up and he’s gone all day
- If he has to leave the city for a game or something else work related he makes sure his side of the bed smells enough like him that isnt overpowering but is enough for you to hug while he’s gone and have some comfort
- Sends you pictures everyday until he’s back and while you learn to cope with him being gone he nevers sleeps right without you
- He misses you even more than you miss him, he’s a clingy baby and needs your validation that you love him as much as he loves you
- Everyone gets insecure sometimes, including Boktuo and when he’s having one of those days all he wants to do is lie his head down on your chest while you play with hair and cuddle
- Bokuto is the kind of guy who knows he’s going to spend the rest of his life with you, I feel like depending on his mood he’s either antsy to propose or he’s not in a rush because he’s enjoying the lives you two are leading right now
- He’s had the ring he’s going to use to propose to you with for a solid year before it happens
- I also feel like he’d do some shit like pull the ring out while you’re not looking and take a picture to show you on the days leading up to the proposal
- He’ll take you to the beach to watch the sunrise with you and although you’re cranky and complaining that it’s too early to be awake you know the view will be worth it
- What you aren’t expecting is for him to get really serious as the first splashes of blue and pink hit the horizon while he talks about how he never imagined you’d become so important to his life
- He recalls the moment he fell in love with you, it wasn’t anything romantic or particularly cute and it was a little embarrassing now that you think back on it but he remembers the two of you joking around during lunch and him making you laugh so hard you snorted out milk through your nose
- He doesn’t know what it was about that moment but it had stuck with him all these years, he talks about how he wants to spend every morning waking up to you, bed head and morning breath and all
- He thanks you for being so patient with him during his time growing up in high school, he tells you he’s grateful you were there for him when he was feeling the worst about himself
- He starts to choke up as he talks about knowing that he wants the spend the rest of his life with you and that he’ll spend everyday making you the happiest woman alive and making sure you know how loved and appreciated you are
- By the end you’re both crying and when you choke out a yes he grabs you into a tight bear hug and can’t stop smiling the rest of the day

wanna be - m. atsumu
friends to lovers atsumu fluff because i said so.
warnings: none, just unedited so might be a lil sloppy lol, mention of konoha x reader (they go on like one date)
word count: 3.5k
wanna be by the internet (2018)
he remembers you from onigiri miya.
your baggy jeans, loose t shirt, eyebags. he remembers it all down to the way you stuffed your face with onigiris to the neon lights the shined outside. you were pretty, but he was indifferent. after all, he was miya atsumu, a player both on and off the court.
to you, he was miya atsumu, osamu's brother. and miya osamu was simply a friend who owned a restaurant and understood the crushing pressure of being a student with a part time job that struggled to pay rent. besides, one day you'd pay him back because you were one smart cookie, though he didn't know in what way. however, he did notice how atsumu made an effort to avoid eye contact while you introduced yourself. he didn't miss the color that made its way to his cheeks when you held your hand out for him to shake.
and he sees you again waiting outside his team's gym after practice.
that day, your hair was tied back. you wore a long coat that went down to your calves and loose black clothing under it. did you always wear loose clothes? you smiled and waved in his direction and his heart skipped a beat. he waved back excitedly until he turned around and saw hinata jumping up and down at the sight of your happy self. turns out, you were karasuno's manager in high school. atsumu, usually confident and cheerful, now sunk into his sweater while his teammate introduced you to the rest of the group.
"i know atsumu. i met him at onigiri miya a few weeks ago."
he nodded as you spoke. he barely knew you, but your presence had a significant effect on him, one that was beyond what he can describe.
so maybe he goes over to his brother's restaurant more, once or twice a week.
"so, how do you know hinata?" stupid question. hinata literally told everyone like a week ago.
"i went to karasuno and became the team manager for their volleyball team," you answered anyways, how sweet of you, "i actually got to see you and osamu play at nationals. that's where i first met him."
all of the sudden, atsumu wishes that he paid more attention to the pretty managers of the opposing teams. although, he does thank whatever higher power is out there that he got to meet you at some point and curses osamu for not telling him about you at all.
"i didn't know you knew (y/n) in high school."
"what do you mean?"
"i just didn't know that she was a team manager and all that, you know? i feel kind of bad for not knowing she existed."
"oh she definitely existed. who do you think i made extra bento boxes for when we went to tokyo?"
"those weren't mine?"
hinata invites you to watch him practice and he doesn't know if its a curse or a blessing.
on the one hand, you can see all of his talented sets and gameplay. on the other, he usually reached peak idiot during practices, at least that's what sakusa would tell him.
that's not going to stop you from sitting down and letting out a cheer for hinata's, and even bokuto's, spikes. you knew that shoyo and kotaro loved the support they got. it gave them motivation, made them perform better. of course, the team wouldn't mind that.
atsumu just wishes he got a few cheers or smiles from you.
the next time you see him, he's sucking face with some hot model with a drink in hand at a party that shoyo brought you to. you weren't surprised. you were close enough to osamu to hear him rant about his brothers antics, so you brush it off like usual when seeing two people getting a little busy. after all, you were here to take a break from studying
by the middle of the party, you're tipsy and cheering on bokuto who was shaking ass to hot girl summer. hinata is passed out on the couch in a fetal position while kageyama sits down and stuffs his face with rice. osamu joins him and witnesses the mess that is you and bokuto. atsumu looks disheveled and everyone already knows why, all of you just hope that the room he went to earlier was not the master bedroom.
"tsumuuuuu," you slurred as you spoke, a happy smile plastered on your face, "you're a manwhoreeeeee."
"what?"
"i'm joking, but also not," you kissed the tip of his nose, "you're a very nice boy."
he didn't know whether to be offended or flustered, especially with the combination of your little antics and the alcohol in his system, which only resulted in a strong of incoherent words that entertained osamu.
"man, i really wish you met her in high school. she was way worse." kageyama added, memories of you blatantly flirting with your close friends for fun.
"she really was. i believe the first thing she ever said to suna was 'holy fuck, how do you look so fucking hot while shoving those jelly sticks in your mouth?'" osamu laughed, the image of his teammate's red face playing in his mind, "the (y/n) you know is more tame, a stressed college student with a low alcohol tolerance."
you gave bokuto's ass another smack as you giggled at the way his ass jiggled. having athletic friends is fun, especially when the stress from your graduate studies needs to be relieved and their pro player money literally prevents you from paying for your own food. you were lucky.
the day after, you drive to the gym you knew they would be practicing at. of course, sakusa had the common sense to not drink the night before practice. his other three teammates did not.
atsumu is the first one to spot you, a big bag in hand, your hair tied back, another pair of loose jeans and a plain t shirt. it's more different from the flattering plants and small top you wore last night, but he wonders how you can look like this after a night of drunken fun. it was almost like you were glowing.
hinata greeted you first, taking your bag and thanking you for the food.
"are your heads okay?"
"i think i died last night."
"you die every time there's alcohol at a party, shoyo."
"hey!"
sakusa snickered while the rest tried their best to hide their laughs. you weren't wrong, though. shoyo does end up passing out on someone's couch after some energetic dancing.
"what about you, tsumu?"
"i don't remember anything that happened except for bo's ass."
"not even the hot blonde girl?"
"the what?" again, everyone failed to contain their laughs.
"you manwhore!" you chuckled, handing him his bento box.
"you should have seen how red he got when you kissed his nose!" bokuto chimed in.
"i did that?" your smile faded, "sorry, if i made you uncomfortable, tsumu."
"it's okay, i don't remember it." he lied.
the memory replayed in his mind again and a foreign feeling came over him. it was warm.
the next time he sees you, you're at osamu's house to taste test his new food. it's osamu's classic duo, his dear brother that loves to freeload off of him and his stressed grad student friend who also likes free food.
when atsumu walks in, you motion for him to sit next to you while stuffing your face. you're wearing baggy clothes again and he's pretty sure that you slept with your makeup still on from the night before.
"osamu, if you keep cooking like this, i think i might marry you."
"gross."
"what's gross about marrying the hotter twin?" you turned to atsumu, a smirk on your face.
"we look exactly alike."
"yeah, but he cooks."
atsumu couldn't argue with that. you were funny. you were always funny and warm even when talking down to him like this. and it made his heart beat faster, his face a little redder, his smile a little brighter.
fuck.
"i can cook."
"yeah, a pack of cup noodles." osamu responded while you chuckled in agreement.
"they're some fire ass cup noodles."
"yeah okay, playboy."
"playboy?"
"do you prefer manwhore?"
"no."
you throw your head back, laughing again at atsumu's expression. for someone who fucks around, he was easy to fluster. and you enjoyed it every time. the way he would look down in an attempt to hide his crimson cheeks, the slight smile that would rest in his face. he was pretty.
it all confirmed osamu's suspicions.
"you guys want to make every sunday a taste test day?"
"yes!" you responded excitedly. more free food? you're there.
"sure."
after osamu packed up some food for the two of you, both of you walked out. the early afternoon sun was scorching and your baggy jeans and oversized hoodie were not helping.
"you wanna get some coffee? i'll pay."
"what are you doing? trying to woo me or something, manwhore?"
"you look like shit and i think it's because you're tired."
"fair. but you have to drive me home first. i need to change and i do not want to walk to the bus stop."
"you didn't drive here?"
"i wanted to take a nap on public transport, sue me."
after a ten minute drive filled with food critiques, you finally made it to your house, quickly changing into some shorts and a t shirt that was actually your size. your raccoon eyes were fixed and you were back in atsumu's car in no time.
"i had no idea you existed up until a few weeks ago."
"nice way to start a conversation, tsumu."
"sorry-"
"you know, when i was karasuno's manager, i thought you were terrifying."
"how?"
"it was after one of your serves, you had this scary look on your face, but i forgot what you were looking at. you scored an ace, though."
"the fangirls."
"huh?"
"it was those squealin pigs that almost messed it up. i remember."
"you call your fangirls pigs?" you scoffed, "you're a whole manwhore." "yeah whatever, (y/n)."
you both went on to reminisce about high school memories, him mostly talking volleyball while you talked about shoyo and tobio being absolute dumbasses. he was interesting, really. his voice was smooth and his tone was always lively, always showing some emotion.
the cafe was mostly empty, a few people scattered around. the bitter taste of coffee met your lips as you hummed with delight.
"what are you looking at?"
"how are you drinking that shit? didn't you order extra espresso shots?"
"yeah, and? i see a ridiculous amount of condensed milk in yours, but i'm not saying anything."
"whatever." he chuckled.
everything was natural, both easing into friendly teasing comfortably. there was always some sort of glint in his eyes, a sly smile whenever he wasn't talking, reddened cheeks whenever you caught him staring.
being friends with miya atsumu was easy.
every sunday was easy. talking to him was easy. thinking about him was easy. a little too easy. and summer becomes fall. and fall becomes winter. and every sunday, there's a new source of energy you find despite your sleep deprived state.
"bo's sending me on a blind date." you tell the twins excitedly.
it's been awhile since you've gone on a proper date. you really haven't had the time for anything except for fooling around at a party once in a while. even if it went nowhere, at least you had something to distract you from the blonde manwhore who's constantly on your mind.
"oh, really?" osamu grinned, "i would have gone a date with you."
"liar. we both remember what happened while you were in school."
"yuck."
atsumu looked between the two of you, the gears turning in his head until it finally clicked.
"you guys went on a date?"
"sadly, yes," you chuckled, "we became closer friends, but that was not the move."
"agreed."
atsumu had already accepted that he had feelings for you. which he suppressed out of embarrassment. he had already accepted that you would have rejected him anyways. you called him a manwhore after all.
"when is it?" he finally asked, jaw clenching. his harsh tone wasn't intentional, but it was there nonetheless.
"next saturday. i'll tell you two about it when we taste test, again."
"you wanna get some milk tea after?"
"no. i have to buy a dress."
"oh."
atsumu watched you walk out the door, a cheerful smile on your face. he felt sick.
and when next sunday comes, you're an hour late.
you looked like you were up all night studying for exams. he recognizes the smudged mascara, the eyebags, the messy hair. except instead of your usual baggy clothes, it's a dress that loosely hugs your figure. he doesn't miss the way your nipples peaked through or the marks on your neck. nasty.
"samu, i'm gonna need more food than usual."
"you got it boss."
the sounds of the kitchen fill the room as you lay your head down. you turn to atsumu, eyes droopy and exhausted.
"you look like you had fun. who did bo hook you up with?"
"his name's konoha. he played for fukurodani back in high school. bo's such a sneaky lil shit."
"how?"
"i may have had a small crush on him in high school when i saw him at a training camp. i told bo and he probably remembered it and thought it was funny."
"nice," he replied, running his fingers through your hair, "are you guys going on another date?"
you closed your eyes, relishing in the feeling of his touch, "i don't think so. it was fun, but i don't think i like him that much anymore."
"ah."
he internally celebrated while osamu rolled his eyes.
and winter turns to spring in atsumu's apartment.
soft white walls, light brown cabinets, a fridge filled with his brother's food. a few photo frames hung around, the most notable once being a photo of osamu stuffing his face when they were kids. the best part was that osamu hated that photo, yet it was also the centerpiece of his table.
you set down the vase of flowers that you were asked to bring. something about making the party feel more "springy" or whatever atsumu said. you were expecting a nice apartment, atsumu was a pro volleyball player of course. but you weren't expecting it to be this nice.
it almost makes you sad. the fact you were constantly exhausted, studying, and stressed while atsumu was the same age having fun and being a playboy. god, this kind of sucks. why the hell was this man friends with you anyways?
"your dress looks so cute!" always count on shoyo to immediately make you feel better.
"you look good even in your big jeans, but you look even cooler?" bo added on, making your cheeks heat up.
while you and sakusa exchanged a small wave, atsumu came out of his room. an unbuttoned short sleeve, white shirt underneath, jeans. wow. god. fuck. and seeing you in the pink dress that flowed around your body, the sleeves being a little puffed, the same train of thoughts ran through his head.
"you needed help setting up?"
"uhm, yeah. can you guys get the plates out and shit?"
"you want us to shit on the plates?"
"shoyo-" you cackled at the confused tangerine headed boy.
it's a good thing you figured it all out before the guests arrived.
seeing kuroo and kenma after so long was refreshing. and the fact akaashi also had a caffeine addiction was comforting. and yachi? she was so grown now. your conversation with the two was interrupted by a tap on your shoulder.
"hey, stranger."
"konoha?"
you gave him a short hug. both of you caught up on the last few months, the situation being less awkward than you expected. it's not like he was trying to get in your pants again, what was the harm in talking? there's nothing wrong with two tired college students having a conversation, right?
suna's voice became distant to atsumu as he observed the blonde across the room. should he go there and save you? his question was quickly answered when you greeted the man with a hug.
"dude? can you hear me?" suna waved his hand in front of his face.
"don't mind he's just being a simp." osamu responded, a smirk on his face.
"am not!"
"for who?"
"(y/n) (y/l/n)."
"that cute manager from karasuno?"
"yep."
"you go, dude!" suna patted him on the back.
"i don't like her like that, we're just friends."
"why is your face red?"
"it's not red!"
"ooo! is atsumu afraid of (y/n)'s cooties?"
"suna, we're twenty three."
"and you act like you're sixteen with this lil crush, atsumu."
atsumu sighed in response. it was too late. you were going to go home with konoha, or maybe you two would go to his many spare rooms. and you would go on another date. fall in love with him. marry him. have his kids.
"she calls me a manwhore a lot."
"she's not wrong."
"aren't you two supposed to be supportive?"
"no." they both said in unison.
"look just offer to give her a house tour or something," suna advised nonchalantly, "works every time."
"good idea."
feeling a presence behind you, you turned around only to be met with a scary looking blonde towering over you. konoha kissed your cheek and bid you a farewell once he realized another figure grabbing your attention.
"house tour?"
"thought you'd never ask, manwhore."
after a tour of a guest room, a bathroom, and a washing machine, the two of you finally made it to his master bedroom. of course, the pillows on his bed were thrown around and there were a few shirts thrown on the floor.
"i may have forgotten to, uh, put those away."
"how are you gonna give me a house tour and forget to clean your house."
"i remembered to fold my blanket!"
"you don't fold your blanket when you wake up? do you even make your bed in the morning?"
"shut up."
you chuckled as he looked away, a poor attempt to hide his face. judging by the mess of clothing, the setter probably had no idea what to wear for his party. the one that was being hosted by him, in his own apartment, right now.
"i see you had a little fashion show this morning."
"i didn't know what to wear!"
"you're the host!"
"what if i looked bad?"
"who cares?"
he looked at you, a confused expression on his face. his eyebrows were furrowed, mouth slightly parted open. your eyes landed on his lips before you immediately turned away. you couldn't get distracted, but he looked so pretty. instead, you sat down on the bed, finding a pillow to rest your head against.
"if it makes you feel better, you look really nice today, tsumu."
"i did it! you finally didn't call me a manwhore!"
"you're still a manwhore."
he pouted while you threw your head back in laughter once again. atsumu took this as an opportunity to sit next to you on his bed, readjusting your head onto his lap. you looked up at his face, eyes boring deep into yours.
"what are you thinking about?"
"you."
"do i have something on my face?"
"no."
his fingers made its way onto your scalp, slowly massaging your head. a moan left your lips at the satisfying feeling. the past few weeks have only stressed you out, but atsumu's presence cushioned you when necessary.
"how's konoha?"
"he's okay, i'd honestly become friends with him if he wanted to."
"didn't he give you a kiss?"
"it was just a cheek kiss."
"you wouldn't mind if i gave you one, right?"
"who cares? i think everyone should give their homies a kiss."
and with that, his lips met yours. his were soft and warm, and though you were caught by surprised, you kissed back. you two melded together until you sat back up.
"i meant a cheek kiss, but whatever."
"you kissed back!"
"no, i didn't."
"did to."
"i don't want your cooties."
"are you five?"
you rolled your eyes, laying back down on the bed. he ended up giving you a kiss on the cheek, then slowly traveled to your ear, then your neck, then dangerously close to your chest. he laid down next to you, arms around your waist, head resting on the crook of your neck. you acted as if you were indifferent, but of course your cheeks still heated up and your heart was beating faster than usual.
"do you wanna be my girl?"
"no."
"rude."
he chuckled into your neck while you grinned, turning your head to look at the pretty setter. it only resulted in more kisses on your face which you happily received.
"is osamu still single?"
"don't even joke about that."

Happy Early Halloween
Pairing: Akaashi Keiji x f!reader
Synopsis: Akaashi Keiji let you experience Halloween in the middle of spring.
Warnings: underage drinking
HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE AHAHHAHAHAHAHHAH
You had no idea that transferring schools would be hard. No one warned you or stopped you when you said you were transferring to Nekoma High on your second year of high school. Your parents were actually happy that you were trying to explore new things. It was far from your house but it was worth the travel, you thought. To make things worst, your relationship with your boyfriend at your previous school is collapsing.
“Hi! You’re the new student, right?” A guy with mohawk approached you, snapping you out of your deep thoughts. Timidly, you nodded. It’s not that you didn’t want to make friends, but you were shy around new people. Plus, mohawk guy was the first ever person to approach you in Nekoma.
“Yes. I’m (Y/N),” you introduced yourself timidly, lowering your head in shyness.
“You can call me Tora!” He energetically introduced himself back. “Do you have a club already, (Y/N)?” You shook your head and he excitedly grabbed your hands, which made you look up in excitement. “Be the manager of the volleyball club! We’ve been looking for a manager for a long time now!”
“Tora, stop pestering her to join the club just because you want a female manager,” a guy with blonde hair with darker roots walked closer to the two of you, sighing heavily. “You can always reject him. He’s just desperate to have a female manager.”
“It’s okay... I kind of want to join your club,” you replied to the blonde bashfully. He looked so awkward too and it made you feel a little relieved. At least you weren’t the only shy one around.
And that’s how you became the Nekoma Boys’ Volleyball Team’s manager. You were all awkward and shy at first, but as time went by, you showed your true colors to the team. You were very motherly to each of them, but also joked around a lot.
“Say, (Y/N), why don’t I see you and your boyfriend together anymore?” Kuroo asked you all of a sudden as the two of you walked to Nekoma early in the morning. He has fetched you from the train station because the coach ordered him to. You were going to a training camp with the Fukurodani Acamedy group.
“We broke up,” you chuckled. Kuroo gasped dramatically, so you rolled your eyes. “Don’t act as if you don’t know. You liked my tweet last night.”
“So can I know why you broke up?” Kuroo pushed the topic.
You smiled at him. You were happy that you could finally tell it to someone. You couldn’t talk to your friends about it since they liked your ex for you way too much. If you told them you broke up, they would most likely side with your ex instead of you. They liked him that much.
“We both fell out of love I guess,” you simply explained to him.
Kuroo sighed in disappointment. “His loss, not yours. You’re pretty, smart, kind-”
“I’m pretty boring, a smartass who thinks she’s right all the time, too kind to see other boys’ intentions,” you cut him off and Kuroo looked at you in disagreement. “You’re overestimating me.”
“Whatever.” Kuroo huffed. “Maybe you can find someone at the training camp.”
“I’m not into athletes. They’re cocky. They think they’re a catch and all that, but in reality, they’re not just players in the court, but also in relationships,” you replied to him. He was about to make another remark but you arrived at the school grounds.
The preparations for the camp started so you and Kuroo went back to work mode. You made sure all their belongings were complete and that no one was left behind. Lev was late so you almost decided to leave him behind, but luckily he arrived before the train left.
The ride to Shinzen High was quiet since most of the players were asleep, which you were actually thankful for. They were quiet for once. When you arrived at the school, everyone immediately went to the prepared room and and set their bags before going to the gym where practice matches will be held.
“Is that your female manager, Kuroo? Not bad!” A loud voice said, the whole gym hearing his statement. You bit the inside of your cheek nervously, eyes glued on the wooden floor of the gym.
“Shut up, Bokuto! You’re making her uncomfortable!” Kuroo snapped back and you heard footsteps running towards your team. You feel taller people surround you so, you unconsciously grabbed Kai’s sleeve, holding onto it tightly as you cower in shyness.
Kai looked over you nervously. He knew about how nervous you got if you were surrounded by new people. This was how you reacted when you first met the team as well. “Bokuto-san, please don’t crowd our manager. She doesn’t like the being surrounded by strangers.”
The said Bokuto stepped away from you, so you looked up only to see his teammates looking at you intently. But amongst the eyes that were staring at you, gunmetal blue eyes caught your attention. His gaze was making your heart beat faster, your grip on Kai’s jacket sleeve tightening.
“Hey! Why are you acting as if you don’t have female managers?” A feminine voice called them out and the boys in front of you moved away from you immediately. “I’m sorry for my team’s behavior. I’m Yukie and this is Kaori.”
“I’m (Y/N)...” You let go of Kai’s sleeve and shook Yukie’s hand that was holding out to you.
“See you later, (Y/N)!” Kaori told you as they left to go back to their team.
“Are you okay?” Kuroo asked you and you just nod your head.
Fukunaga helped you calm down through telling you jokes. But you couldn’t feel completely comfortable since you could still feel one of the Fukurodani members staring at you. The same guy that made your heart race in an unbelievable pace.
You pulled Kuroo and whispered to his ear. “Who’s that guy in Fukurodani with the messy black hair?”
Kuroo then started laughing. “There a lot of guys that can pique your interest and you really choose the one with a girlfriend?”
You smacked your palm on his lips, quietening him down. “That’s not why I asked! He kept staring at me!”
“That’s Akaashi. He’s Fukurodani’s setter. A good friend of mine. If he was single I would definitely introduce him to you, but he isn’t so choose another person,” Kuroo told you and you face palmed.
“I told you that’s not why I asked!” Stomping away from your team’s captain, the said setter who was watching you from a far smirked.
“She’s cute...” Akaashi muttered to himself.
“What did you say?” Bokuto looked at him in confusion, thinking that his junior said something.
“I didn’t. Maybe you’re hearing things?” Akaashi shrugged then walked off.
The whole training camp you’d catch the setter looking at you. At first it was bothersome, but then you got used to it so you’d ignore it. As if you could do something about it. You were too shy to approach him and if you tried to tell Kuroo, he’d tell you about how the guy had a girlfriend. He clearly didn’t understand your problem. He thought you liked Akaashi, even if you clearly told him before the camp that you weren’t into athletes. So you avoided him as much as you can to avoid unnecessary eye contacts.
It was finally the last night of the camp and you were preparing for bed when Kaori sat next to you. “We’re going to drink at the rooftop. You should join us.” She winked at you.
“Drink?” You gulped in nervousness but she beamed a reassuring smile at you. “Won’t the coaches and teachers know?”
“They’re drinking out as well. Don’t worry! It’s not everyday we get to drink like this.” Kaori helped you stand up and directed you to the rooftop of Shinzen High. As she opened the door to the rooftop, the breezing cold hits your body. You were too shy to tell Kaori that you wanted to get your jacket, so you just kept quiet and followed behind her.
“Oh, our (Y/N) is here,” you heard a familiar voice so you sighed in relief.
“Kuroo...” you waddled your way to your team’s captain, taking a quick look around the place to see who was around. To your surprise, Kenma and Yaku were also there. The Karasuno’s middle blocker with glasses was also around. Most of the Fukurodani starting players were present, which meant that the guy you’ve been avoiding the whole training camp was also there.
“I didn’t see you as someone who’d sneak out,” Kenma spoke so you cocked an eyebrow at him. “Kuroo forced me into this. He said I need to enjoy the risky teenage years.”
“You’ll thank me in the future,” Kuroo told the younger setter. You settled next to Kenma, pulling your knees to your chest for warmth.
The moment you arrived at the rooftop, Akaashi noticed you shiver a little. He wanted to give you his jacket at that moment, but he was worried you’d be scared of him. Kuroo had told him so much about how nervous you were around new people so he was hesitant to approach you the whole camp.
Bokuto nudged the setter’s side, seeing your shivering body as well. “Give her your jacket. This is your only chance.”
“I’m shy.” Akaashi whispered back to his captain, his cheeks turning red from the cold breeze and your cute appearance.
Bokuto nudged him again. “It’s now or never.”
“I told you! I’m shy!” Akaashi nudged him back, his calm expression not leaving his face. The duo continued to nudge each other and bicker with one another, stopping only when Yukie and Konoha arrived with plastics of alcoholic beverages.
It wasn’t your first time drinking, but you were nervous about the outcome of this drinking session. You were extremely clingy and touchy when drunk, so you promised yourself not to drink too much. So you can save yourself from the embarrassment.
“Drinks are here!” Yukie silently cheered. She pulled out a bottle of vodka and you choked on your own breath, surprised by her choice of beverage. Honestly, you expected light drinks like beer or a mix. But no. Yukie really said, “work hard, drink hard.”
As you were to focused on your nervousness about the drinks, Kenma observed how Akaashi was staring at you with interest present in the rival setter’s eyes. Did Fukurodani’s setter like you? To prove his theory, Kenma put a hand on your knee, receiving an irked expression from Akaashi. He scoffed before standing up from his seat, and walking to the other setter.
Kenma nudged Akaashi’s leg using his foot. “Go sit next to her.”
Akaashi raised an eyebrow at him, carefully processing the blonde’s word. After a second of thinking, Akaashi followed your team’s setter’s order. Preoccupied with helping Yukie with the drinks, you didn’t notice how your seatmate has changed. To get your attention, Akaashi draped his jacket over your shoulders.
Startled, you faced him. “Hi,” he greeted you nonchalantly, causing you to blush. You smiled at him shyly then looked at Kuroo for help, but the rooster head just shrugged at you as a smirk grew on his face. ‘I guess even the model students have dirty secrets.’
The group started taking shots, playing the classic game of truth or dare. You weren’t as silent as before when the alcohol hit your system. It was like you forgot about your nervousness and got really comfortable with people around you. In fact, you were too comfortable your hand was set on Akaashi’s thigh.
“Akaashi, it’s your turn. Truth or dare?” Kuroo asked the boy beside you.
“Dare.”
“Hmmm...” Kuroo hummed, thinking of the perfect dare. He glanced at the two of you, making you glare at him. He then showed off a smug smile to your direction. “I dare you to hold (Y/N)’s hand the whole night.”
You blushed from Kuroo’s words, taking your hand off Akaashi’s thigh. Yaku then huffed in disappointed. “You dare like an elementary student! Akaashi, I dare you to kiss our lovely manager.” Whistles and cheers were thrown by everyone else, anticipatingly waiting for any actions from the two of you.
“We can’t. He has a girlfriend,” you reasoned, folding your arms together.
“They already broke up,” Konoha counter attacked your statement.
It was all up to Akaashi now. It was either he kisses you or he drinks three shots that can cause his death at tomorrow’s practice. He took a deep breath in before making you face him with his soft fingers beneath your jaw. “Is it okay?” He asked in your ear, heat rushing to your face.
“Just get this over with,” you managed to let out. Akaashi leaned in, pressing his soft lips on your lips. It was quick, but it felt like it lasted for a lifetime. You don’t know if it’s because of the alcohol inside you, but you want more. Akaashi pulled away, giving you a smile before he looking away from you.
The group continued to drink, and your words about not getting drunk were thrown out of the window. The numbness was travelling all over your body. What’s funny was that you couldn’t feel your lips, but you could feel Akaashi’s.
Your head was leaning on Akaashi’s shoulder, your hands intertwined. “I wanna pee.” You pouted, so Akaashi pulled you up and excused the two of you.
“Don’t do anything nasty,” Kuroo warned jokingly, so you raised a middle finger at him before holding hands with Akaashi once again.
Akaashi helped you walk to the comfort room, which was located on a floor below the rooftop. By the time you reached the stairs, Akaashi held you by your hips, guiding your drunken body at every step. When you arrived at the comfort room, Akaashi let you do what you needed to do while he waited outside.
The two of you were in the hallways, on your on your way back to the rooftop, when you heard footsteps coming from the stairs. He slowly pushed you inside an empty classroom, a hand over your mouth. “I think it’s one of the coaches.”
“What do we do?” You whispered as Akaashi removed his hand from your mouth.
“We wait until the coast is clear,” Akaashi replied to you, still holding your hands.
Akaashi quickly pulled you down to the ground, making sure you won’t be seen from the windows. Due to dizziness, you stumble towards him just like in every romance film you’ve seen. Your eyes met his blue ones. He was looking at you gently but eagerly. His eyes travelled down to your lips then back to your eyes, as if he was asking for permission. You nod at him.
Akaashi pushed the back of your head softly, crashing your lips into his. The numbness you felt in your lips was gone. You allowed his tongue in your mouth, letting him take control. You were already too weak to fight for dominance. His hand found its way under your shirt, rubbing circles on your back. The other hand was holding your cheek, guiding you. Your memory of that night would be blurry, but one thing’s for sure, Akaashi’s kiss made you drunk.
After that night, you and Akaashi got extremely close. He texted and called you every day. If his schedules allowed, he would fetch you at Nekoma High so the two of you could ride the train together. The two of you were acting like you were dating, but you weren’t.
The two of you settled for an unlabeled relationship since you both had just gotten into a break up recently. Akaashi, being the good guy he was, didn’t want to rush you into a relationship.
“Your boyfriend’s here,” Kuroo teased you.
“They aren’t dating, remember? They’re friends who act like they’re dating,” Yaku snarked, making you roll your eyes.
“Whatever. We’ll start dating soon anyways.” You stuck your tongue out at him before running to the setter waiting outside your school.
The team had just finished practicing and you were on your way out. Akaashi was standing near the gate in Fukurodani training set, phone in hand. He looked angry while he was typing something.
“Keiji!” You called him, wrapping your arms around his abdomen. He put his phone in his pocket and patted your head. You let go of him and intertwined your hands instead. “How was practice today?”
“Fine,” he sighed, reassuringly squeezing your hand.
On your way home, the two of you talked about how your days were. Akaashi mostly spoke about Bokuto’s emo modes and unexpectedness. While you complained about how rowdy the Nekoma team got during practices.
You arrived in front of your house, so you faced him. “I guess this is goodbye?”
Seeing the pout on your face, Akaashi let out a soft chuckle. “Why are you sulking?”
“I wanted to spend more time with you today,” you confessed. Akaashi pulled your body in, then hugged you tightly.
“Me, too. I want to spend more time with you.” He kissed your forehead, causing you to smile widely. “Go inside now.”
And before you could even respond to him, you heard your mother’s voice call out your name. The two of froze on your spot, slowly letting go of each other. “Oh my, (Y/N)! Is he your boyfriend?”
“Oh, we’re not dating yet, Mrs. (L/N),” Akaashi answered your mother calmly. Your mother giggled, eyeing you teasingly.
“Is that so? Come on in. I want to know more about my daughter’s future boyfriend,” your mother stated, pulling Akaashi inside your house. He didn’t even give him a chance to reject.
That night, Akaashi met your family as a friend who was romantically interested to you. It’s safe to say that your family loved Akaashi. He did look like a guy who you could bring home. He was so polite to your parents and siblings. Even your pet fell in love with him. The furry animal followed him out of your house.
After walking him out, you went back in and realization finally hit you, he was the first ever guy you introduced to your family. You ran to your room to avoid questions from your family members. As soon as you entered your room, your phone started to ring. You checked it and it was Akaashi.
“Yes?” You asked him, wondering why he called when he just left.
“I forgot something,” he told you.
“What is it? Where did you leave it?” You questioned, already about to leave your room.
“Look out your window,” he told you so you did. You saw him standing at the walkway outside your house. “I forgot to tell you something.”
“What?” You looked down to him, eyebrow raised.
“I love you.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“He said what now?” Yaku squinted his eyes at you, not believing anything you were saying. “He can’t ask you to be his girlfriend but he can say those words?”
“It doesn’t matter! He said he loved me!” You squealed, burying your face in the palm of your hands.
“Labels matter! How do you differentiate a jar of salt from a jar of sugar?” Yaku scolded you but you didn’t listen to him.
“You taste it,” you answered back.
“What if he’s actually salt?” Yaku asked.
And he was right. Akaashi was the jar of salt.
After saying I love you, he vanished, like he was the fucking Avatar or something. He stopped messaging and calling you. When you asked Kaori and Yukie about him, they just told you that he was busy with school. So you believed them and waited for Akaashi.
In Yaku’s words, Akaashi ghosted you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ghosting
(verb)
When someone suddenly cuts all ties and communication with the person they've been seeing. Many believe that ghosting is actually better for the person they're ignoring because they aren't hurting their feelings by telling them they don't want to date anymore.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Why are you so excited to see a guy who ghosted you?” Yaku gagged so you smacked his arm. “What? You can’t accept that he ghosted you after saying those three words with eight letters?”
It was finally the Spring High qualifiers and you had a game against Fukurodani. You were excited to see Akaashi after weeks of not interacting with each other. You wanted to ask him why he did that. If Kaori and Yukie were telling the truth, then you definitely would forgive him for ghosting you. They were saying the truth, right? Why would Akaashi ghost you? He said he loved you.
“Hey! Hey! Hey!” You heard a familiar chant, so you turned excitedly. Fukurodani was finally here. Much to your disappointment, Akaashi wasn’t with them. Before you could ask about his whereabouts, Coach Nekomata had called you.
As you were on your way to the coach, you saw Akaashi. “Hi,” you greeted him shyly. “Can we talk later?” He just ignored you.
“Kei-chan!” You looked behind him and saw his ex approaching him. Your eyes widened in surprise.
‘No fucking way. He did not...’
You wanted to collapse right then and there, but you couldn’t believe the sight in front of you. You didn’t know how to react. Should you slap him? Should you cry? Should you way away?
“Who’s this, babe?” His ex asked him, her hand clinging onto the arm that you were holding just a few weeks ago.
“She’s a friend from training camp,” Akaashi answered, adding damage to your already crashed heart. “I’ll see you later at the court, (Y/N).”
Akaashi treated you like he cared. He even went too far as walking you home and introducing himself to your family. He only did and said sweet nothings that felt like the candy you got as a child in Halloween. You should have known when you got drunk with his kisses. He wasn’t candy or chocolate, he was toxic.
Akaashi was the wolf in sheep’s clothing. He was the bad boy dressed as a good boy. He was the evil witch who pretended to be an innocent old lady. And silly you was Snow White. You took the apple from his hand without hesitance, trusting his charm way too much. He was Mother Gothel and you were Rapunzel. You thought he loved you, but he just needed something from you.
Akaashi did not only ghost you, but he made you a rebound. He tricked you into falling in love with him so you could treat him while he waited for his ex to comeback.
That’s how Akaashi Keiji let you experience Halloween in the middle of spring.

lev would crash your lessons to practice his recieves bc kuroo would be like you gonna get benched son if u don't improve 🤡
yaku would be so mad @ this, and like lev's little comments he wouldn't hesitate to drop kick a bitch 😤👊
" yakkun ! this is so boooring " a voice complains, your boyfriend's composure twitching in irritation. " without the fundamentals your natural talent is useless " he comments, long exasperated sigh let out from his parted lips " no more excuses get back to practice or i swear inuoka will replace you ". lev's amused glance doing nothing to smooth the situation. " wow, you're almost tall enough to be taken seriously ", embers lighting in yaku's eyes. foot connecting with the others leg, tall boy wincing in pain. " was that necessary ? " you question, concern etching your features. " yes "
okay don't tell yaku but u couldn't help giggle @ his first year antics 😳 👉👈
yaku would prolly be like if u learn how to do this properly ill give u a kith 😙😙
lolz lev would completely cockblock u and ask for a kith as well when his recieves don't 💯% suck
lmao cue the poor bb on the floor in pain )):
u loved the first year so u definitely helped him behind your boyfies back
he'd definitely show off to lev how you're much better receiver than he could ever be 💀
all lies- 🐸 mostly 🐸 you never noticed so 🐸
f in the chat for the russian lionychovka beanpole 😔
━━ DAISHOU SUGURU
chest would be puffed out in pride

" fuck technicalities " ‼️‼️
him tryin to show off likes 💪 but like boi fails terribly bc as soon as he stops talking his eyes go like 🤩
his cool bad boy demeanor goes 📉
he goes over all these strategies to shake off blockers and the other positions and ur lowkey just ❓❓❓
" see these are where the middle blockers are at their prime, one wrong move and ... " daishou explains, board with diagrams layed out in front of you. hues filled with dreamy sparkles, passion pouring out of sentences. choosing to ramble on, voice swaying you into a trance. surroundings fading away, words blurring into a disarray in your mind. " hmm, y/n ? " warm breath dancing upon your ear. smirk spreading across his features " you paying attention ? ". small gap left between you and the chair, startling noise causing you to jump up in surprise.
" what did i just explain "
" how much u love me ? " 🥰🙏
" ... the importance of pinch servers "
okay after that you actually tried to pay attention 😹
jsgshdjdkdjdr tbh you actually understood all the theory pretty well 🧠💡
snake 🐍 boi was proud of his teachings
um the executing of it definitely needed some work 😀
jsgdhsjjdjdjdj the nohebi team offered to help but he was like no they are my student, the love of my life, go away ♥️
ne wayz it went pretty well all things considered- i mean after he went on a one hour rant about how kuroo was an untalented asshole and how nekoma somehow cheated and nohebi deserved to win ‼️‼️✋‼️‼️
yeah uhm let's just say you both agreed never to bring up that topic again and went to get onigiri✨😃✨
━━ BOKUTO KOTAROU
first thing he does it call akaashi no 🧢
" akaashi ! yn asked me to help her volleyball ! how do i teach volleyball ! how do you volleyball !? please help ! " 😭🙏
" bokuto san please calm down, yn wouldn't have asked you to teach them if they didn't believe you had the ability " 😐
" that's right ! yn trusted me ! because i am amazing and the best teacher ever ! " 😌💪
trust akaashi to always get him out of a stump 🥰
so uhm yes let's be honest he's better @ controlling bokuto than you could ever be 💀
he'd like set to bokuto first and he would do one of his killer spikes while u failed @ blocking 🤐
yeah when it was your turn you actually did pretty well for a beginner 😌✋
see and then a sort of problem arises where bokuto decided to show off a bit too much and im- ✨ y e a h ✨
akaashi positions himself, postures elegantly to set the ball. arcing throughout mid air, bokuto plunging upwards. muscles rippling, palm bracing to make contact with the rough texture of the ball. tremendous buildup, only to be deflated as the palm misses due to an early jump. bokutos frown growing deeper, knowing orbs drooping as a knowing look glazes over his hues. " bokuto san ... ? " akaashis cautious voice breaking the silence, confused look emitted from your expression. japan's number 5 ace moping in the corner of the room. " shouldn't we- ? " you ask, body posture leaning towards the figure in the corner. " he'll be fine, bokuto san tends to get a bit moody when things do not go the way he has planned- ". " i can hear you ! " pouty voice bouncing around the gym walls.
really took a big hit to babie bo's confidence 🤧
u hit a turning point when konoha entered
" guess he's in his emo mode again, ig i have to join you now " 🙂‼️
" okay ! " 🥰
bokuto wouldn't stand for it
would literally run in && push konoha away 🤡
akaashi : relieved, konoha : pissed, you : confused 😬
" hey ! hey ! hey ! let's go ! ill beat konoha and akaashi easy " 😤
so a two on two was formed ✨✨
yall actually surprisingly tied ❓❓❓
yes he ran into ur arms for a kiss and u almost collapsed but u thought it was adorable 🥺🥺🥺
akaashi definitely scolded him for it after and checked u had no injuries 🚶♀️

The Cats and The Owls Going Shopping - Haikyuu!! Light Novel Vol. 10
In which Nekoma and Fukurodani go souvenir shopping, and Tsukishima’s life somehow gets unnecessarily more difficult as a result.
Translation under the cut
“So, what are you getting?”
“... Probably manju...”
“Then how about that one with ‘I went to Spring High’ on it? If you want to go with a safe option.”
“That? A safe option?”
The goods area is lively with the participating players, cheer groups, and spectators around. There, gathering and joking around are the players from Fukurodani Academy High School who have just won their first match. The first, second, and third-year regulars are all there. However, in the midst of their lively chatter that’s just like during one of their after-practice burger runs, their ace is nowhere in sight.
“Ohh, there you are! Guys, I told you not to leave me!”
Making his way through the crowd of people in team jackets and jerseys, appears Fukurodani’s ace who is one of the nation’s top 5 players, Bokuto Koutarou.
“Why did you guys leave me?”
“Why should we wait for you to finish your business in the toilet?”
Talking back to the ace is none other than the one dubbed as the team’s ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’, Konoha Akinori, but Bokuto pays him no mind and takes a look at the goods stand instead.
“So, do they still have it?”
“... What is it this time? You always, always leave out the subject when you speak. What are you, a kid?”
Konoha continues his rant, and Bokuto turns around annoyed, “Oh, come on!”
“This is exactly why, when someone is saying something, don’t just start grumbling around! Of course I was asking about ‘The Way of The Ace’ t-shirt!”
The way Bokuto said it as if it’s obvious does irk him, but hearing his teammates’ chorus of “You already have it, right?” “I feel like you already have one,” calms him down.
“Well I do have it, but...”
Time for some explanation.
‘The Way of The Ace’ t-shirt—it is Bokuto’s favorite t-shirt which he bought during the previous Spring High.
“One, his figure shall inspire his allies” “Two, he shall break through any walls” “Three, he shall hit every ball with his utmost”
With those words of The Way of The Ace printed on it, any ace, any player aiming to be an ace, or any former ace—any of them would yearn to put it on and have those words on their back while they practice; a t-shirt that makes even national level aces’ mouths water. Small details like if it is a Spring High exclusive item or if it could be purchased somewhere else are totally unknown to mere highschoolers.
“Not just have it actually, I’m wearing it right now, but...” Beating his own chest covered by his jacket, Bokuto continues to his questioning teammates.
“If you think about it, it’s obvious, right? As I get bigger, I won’t be able to wear it anymore. So I need another one.”
His teammates around him look at each other and start grumbling.
“Are you a mom?”
“Thinking that you’re still growing, how confident!”
“I think I want to see you wearing a t-shirt that’s already too small instead.”
“Like I’ve said, why do you guys always start grumbling every time? Whenever I say anything you always, always... Hm?”
Bokuto’s eyes light up. As if they just spotted a prey.
“Tsukki!”
What those eyes just spotted in the midst of the hustle and bustle is the face of Karasuno High School’s first-year middle blocker, Tsukishima Kei. Having won their first match earlier than Fukurodani, the members of Karasuno High School Volleyball Club are also spending brief free time right now.
“Tsukki! Heey! Don’t ignore me, heey!”
His complaints towards his teammates now forgotten, Bokuto smiles cheerfully and waves his hand. But Tsukishima, whose attempt to pretend he didn’t notice Bokuto has failed him, frowns and says, “... Hello,” politely nodding to return the greeting while his steps comes to a halt.
However, Bokuto pays no mind to the wall Tsukishima has put up and steadily closes the distance between them.
“Could it be, Tsukki is also here to buy ‘The Way of The Ace’ t-shirt?”
“No.”
“It’s fine, it’s fine. Don’t be shy!”
To whoever looking at the scene, there’s no hint of any shyness in Tsukishima’s soured look. Bokuto’s teammates start saying, “He’s not being shy, right?” “Clearly he doesn’t like it,” “It’s harassment, harassment!” “Tsukishima, it’s okay to ignore him,” but Bokuto simply ignores them. Instead, he completely assumes the role of a reliable senior and calls out to to the staff manning the goods stand.
“Ah, excuse me! Can I have one ‘The Way of The Ace’ t-shirt size L... no, XL, and... Tsukki, you’re quite lanky, so L would be fine, right?”
“.........”
Met with how close Bokuto’s face is, how loud his voice is, how inconsiderate he is, and how wrapped up in himself he is, Tsukishima knits his brows and refuses, “No need.”
“Ah, could it be that you wanted to buy that one instead?”
The item Bokuto pointing at is a t-shirt hung up with the words ‘Those who laugh at grit will cry in the face of grit’ written in calligraphy-style on it.
“.........”
As if he just saw a bug he hates, Tsukishima looks away from the ‘Grit and Laughter’ t-shirt.
“I’m not buying any t-shirt, and even if I have to, I won’t be buying that one.”
“Hum... Then what about a Fukurodani keychain? As a memento.”
“Why do you think I would want that?”
“What did you come here for then, Tsukki?”
Tsukishima hesitates for a moment.
‘Why should I answer it?’ As he thinks that, it also crosses his mind that he might be able to escape Bokuto’s persistent questioning if he just answers him this one time. He weighs both choice in his head, and by a small margin, the latter wins.
“... I’m getting souvenirs for my family.”
While paying for his ‘The Way of The Ace’ t-shirt, Bokuto hums and nods nonchalantly.
“Tsukki is someone’s child too, huh...”
“What does that even mean? And could you please stop calling me Tsukki?”
“Yeah. So Tsukki, how many siblings do you have?”
“.........”
‘—What is communication again?’
Is what Tsukishima is thinking. The basic of conversation is listening to what the other party is saying, isn’t it? Listen, then respond. There are also cases where someone purposely avoids responding to what the other party is saying. However, to naturally not listen to the other party, then proceed to continue the conversation, what is that even called? While having such thoughts, Tsukishima accidentally lets out the answer to Bokuto’s trivial question.
“... One older brother.”
“Aah! I knew it! You seem like a youngest child! Tsukki does seem like a youngest child!”
Right before Bokuto, who is holding his new t-shirt in high spirits, Tsukishima is stricken with humiliation and self-loathing. ‘Why did I answer it? No, why did I even come here?’
The other Fukurodani members starts piling in on him again, “Bokuto, don’t mess with other school’s first year.” “I get it though, Tsukishima is the type you just want to mess with, right?” “True, he’s like Akaashi in some way.” “Eh?” “Kidding, kidding. Don’t mind it.” “I do mind.” The chatter continues as they enjoy this accidental occurrence as though it’s their after-match dessert. At the same time, students from other schools are starting to notice the Fukurodani’s ace. Chatters like “It’s Fukurodani,” “Bokuto is here,” are getting louder.
Tsukishima’s discomfort is at an extreme.
“.........”
‘Who cares about souvenirs, I’m heading back. I can still buy it tomorrow, and even if I don’t buy one, it’s okay too. Anyway, I’m heading back.’ Tsukishima has decided.
“Well, then,” Tsukishima says as he goes for an out, but right when he looks up from his forced smile, his eyes catch a group in red and he stops in his tracks.
Suddenly, a group of Nekoma players are nearby. A blond mohawk, a half-Russian, and a rooster head.
Tsukishima instantly covers his face and turns the gears in his head.
‘What do I do now?’
If Nekoma’s Kuroo Tetsurou joins this pesky situation as well, it will be a repeat of the summer training camp. The summer training camp where he got involved with the Tokyo team captains combo of Bokuto and Kuroo. Although he can’t deny that he learned a lot in terms of volleyball, those were the days where the psychological stress he endured drained both his mental and physical energy.
The unintentional peskiness and the definitely intentional peskiness. The peskiness of facing these two opposing types of peskiness at the same time is no ordinary peskiness. It’s not a peskiness that a body could endure after a match.
‘Are they gone?’
He steals a sidelong glance to check, expecting the group in red to be blocked by the crowd or go look at goods on the other end of the area, but it turns out they’re still nearby. Just as he clicks his tongue, he senses someone staring at him.
He quickly lifts his head and is met with the eyes of Nekoma’s setter Kozume Kenma.
“.........!”
“.........!”
Both of them tense up. And then with the smallest of nods, they establish some sort of communication in an instant.
‘Please don’t come this way.’
‘I don’t want to go over there.’
With the reaction speed of only those who have faced each other countless times separated only by the net, or perhaps the reaction speed of only those who equally find this to be extremely bothersome, due to their mutual interest they both look away as if nothing happened.
Good thing it’s Kozume who noticed him. Relieved, Tsukishima is just about to quickly take his leave from this place when just like an unexpected ambush, his ears catch a voice.
“Ah! Bokuto-san is over there! Ah, Tsukishima too, heey, heey!”
The one bouncing up and down pointing at him is a Nekoma first-year, Inuoka Sou. Bokuto who notices him goes, “Oooh!” in response, and Nekoma’s captain Kuroo asks, “What are you doing here?” drawing near with a smirk on his face. Behind him, Kozume puts on an expression that says ‘It’s not my fault...’ and averts his eyes.
---
Surrounded by the Tokyo reps in red and white jackets, Tsukishima has completely lost his timing to escape. Towards the weary Tsukishima, Nekoma’s captain Kuroo calls out in teasing voice.
“So what were you going to buy before you get caught, country bumpkin crow?”
On the receiving end of the mysterious pressure from the smirking Kuroo, Tsukishima could only mutters, “Nothing, really...” and looks away, trying to find any chance to escape this place. And right then, without knowing, Bokuto cuts in and says loudly, “Eh? Tsukki, you’re getting souvenirs for your big bro, right?”
Tsukishima’s face clouds over.
‘Why only my brother? I said I’m getting souvenirs for my family, though,’ he thinks irritatedly, but since they won’t get it even if he said it, he stays silent.
“.........”
But because he stays silent, now it’s Kuroo who hums and poke his head into this matter.
“I knew it, Tsukki is a youngest child, I was correct”
Tsukishima’s face gets even more clouded over.
‘What do you mean by knew it? What do you mean by correct? Please don’t just spout random things,’ he thinks irritatedly, but even if he said it, he would end up having to explain more, so he stays silent.
“.........”
But even if Tsukishima doesn’t say anything, or probably because Tsukishima doesn’t say anything, the Tokyo captains who already know his personality end up getting excited and saying whatever they want.
“By ‘knew it’, could it be that you already knew Tsukki is a youngest child?”
“That’s just my observing eyes.”
“Awesome, you could make a living out of it, no?”
“Huh? What kind of job would that be?”
“What would that be.... Ah, I know, you could become something like game show king, right?”
At that very moment, Nekoma’s second-year wing spiker Fukunaga Shouhei who has been quietly listening to their conversation from the corner suddenly bursts into laughter.
“Eh, what? Was there anything funny? Did I say something funny? Eh?”
The sharp-eyed Bokuto spots Fukunaga and approaches him. Nearby, 3 people of different schools and school years let out a sigh at the same time.
“I have no words.”
“Isn’t that something?”
“No words...”
In sequence, the those were the words of Akaashi Keiji, Tsukishima, and half-covered under Haiba Lev’s shadow, Kozume who has been working hard at his mobile game.
“Th, the three of you, the three of you... Together like that....”
On the receiving end of the judgmental cold stares from players of 3 different schools including his own, Bokuto exaggeratedly buries his head in his hands and looks down in shame.
Noticing Bokuto’s back which is starting to tremble, Fukurodani members are starting to get nervous. “Ah, this is bad.”
They don’t want things to get any more bothersome than this. While the end of their match today was a blessing in disguise, it doesn’t change the fact that dealing with Bokuto’s ups and downs is bothersome.
The Fukurodani members exchange glances on the spot, but as they were about to leave things to Akaashi, the subject of the matter suddenly looks up to the ceiling as if he just had a revelation.
“So! That means! Unless you three are together, you can’t bring me down, right!!”
As if drawn by that voice, the surrounding falls silent. “I’m the strongest!” Bokuto’s roar resounds.
“.........”
The Fukurodani members look at each other. “We’re tired anyway, should we just leave Bokuto and go back?” “Yeah, let’s go,” “Good job today,” “Heading back,” The mood is just starting to turn that way when someone in red jacket approaches Bokuto all on his own.
“Bokuto-san, you’re so cool!”
It was Inuoka.
“Ooh, so you get it! So-and-so-kun!”
“It’s Inuoka!”
“You have a bright future ahead!”
“Is, is that so!?”
Inuoka’s eyes light up brightly.
---
Not being particularly concerned that their important first-year is getting excited with Bokuto and leaving them on their own, the rest of Nekoma take their time to look at the goods.
“It’s not like I want anything that badly, but while looking at these you just know you’d end up buying something, right?” “Yeah, totally.” Started by their libero Yaku Morisuke, the Nekoma members joke around. Behind them, walking along leisurely is Lev, who then points at the manju box.
“As a souvenir, isn’t this one with ‘I went to Spring High’ on it good? It’s a safe choice.”
“Safe choice? But saying ‘went to’ doesn’t really give the vibe that you won, right?”
Hearing Yaku’s reply, the vice captain Kai Nobuyuki nods.
“True, it gives the vibe of the memories of when you played at Spring High, right?”
“Well, if you put it that way...”
“The fact that it’s gone once you eat it will also remind you of the impermanence of worldly things.”
Ignoring Kai and Lev who are looking intently at the manju box and admiring it, Yaku quickly decides, “I’ll go with the t-shirt after all!” and heads towards the booth staff.
However, not long after Yaku comes back dragging his steps without any t-shirt in his hands.
“What happened? You look upset.”
“Sold out,” Yaku curtly answers Kai. From above him a booming voice can be heard.
“Spring High t-shirts are a battle after all, right!”
It’s Bokuto.
“A battle?” asked Yaku reflexively. “Yeah!” Bokuto nods.
“Another battle out of the court.”
Watching Yaku avoiding Bokuto’s thrust index finger, Fukurodani’s member are stunned.
“He’s saying something weird again.”
“He got carried away just because he managed to buy one...”
“Bokuto, don’t go bothering others!”
In the midst of Fukurodani and even Nekoma members’ wry smiles, Inuoka shouts excitedly.
“I managed to buy a t-shirt too!”
“Ooh, so you’re a winner!”
“Yes!”
Casting a sidelong glance at the weird master and pupil relationship between those two, Kozume asks Yaku.
“Which one did you want?”
“Hm?”
Yaku points at one of the t-shirts hung at the stand.
“Over there, that one. The one with ‘Those who laugh at grit will cry in the face of grit’”
“... Grit...”
Behind Kozume who’s furrowing his brows, Inuoka turns around.
“Eh? That’s the one I just bought. It’s this one, right?” Inuoka takes out a t-shirt from the plastic bag and shows it. It’s the same ‘Those who laugh at grit will cry in the face of grit’ t-shirt.
“If you want, I don’t mind handing it over at the list price.”
Yaku refuses Inuoka’s offer, “Nah, it’s fine.” But Inuoka insists.
“No need to hold back!”
“It’s fine.”
“But!”
“Like I said, it’s fine!”
Just as Yaku raises his voice, Lev suddenly stretches out his hand and takes the t-shirt from the stunned Inuoka. Then, after looking back and forth, he says, “I knew it.”
“Eh, what?”
Ignoring the confused Inuoka, Lev looks at Yaku.
“XL size won’t fit you, right, Yaku-san?”
The Nekoma members who are watching shut their mouth tight and look away.
Lev has the nerve to say unnecessary things, towards Yaku, towards Yaku-san, regarding heights in such a direct way. No, to begin with, Inuoka, no rather than that, Bokuto— the thoughts swirl in their heads, and the atmosphere grows tense. The one to break the tense atmosphere —that makes even the crowd of onlookers from other schools nearby to also falls silent— is none other than Yaku himself.
“Shut up!!” At the same time, in one decisive move Lev shouts.
“Ouch!! Wha! Why did I get kicked?”
“Winner, what winner? I’m not losing!”
“But I didn’t say anything about winning or losing!”
“Shut up!”
A battle is starting to unfold between the senior and junior in red jackets. But a guy calmly walks right into the center of it.
“Hey now, Yaku-kun!”
It’s yet again Bokuto.
“Nothing will come out of resenting the winner!!”
Seeing their captain confidently saying that, the Fukurodani members go, “You just shut up!” “You only say unnecessary things!” and drag Bokuto back.
---
As for Tsukishima, he’s only a worn out bystander watching the whole commotion.
“What are these people doing...”
‘No one is minding about me anymore, or more like they’ve forgotten about me. If I want to head back, this is the time. No need to say bye or anything. Seems like it’s not the time anyway.’
‘I’m getting out.’
Just as he turns his heel, bright and pleasing voices can be heard nearby.
“It’s so cute!”
“I’m so glad we bought it!
At those voices that warm their bodies that have grown cold just like the winter sun, the Nekoma members, Fukurodani members, and also Tsukishima who is just about to escape, spontaneously look up.
The voices belong to two girls.
Lev, who is being chased by Yaku, and Yamamoto Taketora, who is trying to save Lev, look at them and shout.
“Ah, Nee-chan!”
“Akane?”
“Lyovochka!?”
“Onii-chan!”
The girls are part of the Nekoma cheering group, Lev’s big sister Alisa and Yamamoto’s little sister Akane.
“Look, look, Onii-chan!”
Akane runs up and hands the plushie of the official mascot.
“I bought this. The one in light blue is this year’s limited edition. I’m matching with Alisa-chan, right!”
“Yup!”
“Ah, that’s right! Alisa-chan, let’s take a picture together!”
“Oh, how nice!”
Hanging the plushies by their sides, they make silly faces and take selfies. First is a smiling one, and in the next shot they burst into laughter. It’s as if bright sparkles can be seen around these two innocent girls.
It might be the effect of the sparkles, but the tense atmosphere is starting to lighten slowly. The embroiled minds of the volleyball club members are also soothed, and they lose their intent to fight.
‘Don’t we all get along?’ ‘That’s right.’ ‘I’m also tired.’ ‘Yeah.’
Such atmosphere is spreading.
And then Kuroo shows up right before the two girls and bows.
“If anyone is a winner here, it’s the two of you.”
“Eh, what is this about?”
“... Ah, do you want to join in on the picture?”
In front of the two puzzled girls who have no idea what’s going on, Yaku and Inuoka exchange a firm handshake.
“My bad, Inuoka. You were offering it with good intention.”
“No, I also didn’t consider the size, I’m the one who should apologize!”
After rain comes fair weather. Watching the two’s strengthened bond, Bokuto, as if a case has been settled, says, “Out of the court, there’s no such thing as winning or losing!!”
---
“I’m so tired somehow,” “Yeah, I wonder why,” the Fukurodani members start. After exchanging glances, Akaashi speaks up as if he’s been waiting for this exact moment.
“Then shall we head back soon?”
“Yeah.”
“If we leave Bokuto, he’ll make a scene again.”
“Let’s go back, Bokuto!”
The captain, called by his teammates, replies “Okay!” and run towards them. He says, “See you tomorrow!” towards his rivals and heads back.
“We’ll come again tomorrow!”
“Do your best!”
After the two cheering girls headed home, Nekoma members too, say, “Should we go as well?” and start walking away.
Among the drove of the leaving members, Lev mutters.
“Yaku-san, are you not going to say sorry to me?”
“As if.”
“So mean!”
Completely forgotten by the two teams, Tsukishima is just about to walk back when suddenly someone calls his name.
“Tsukishima!”
Waving his hand and running towards him is Hinata.
The drained Tsukishima feels relieved seeing that face.
‘If it’s only Hinata on his own, everything is under control...’
Thinking that, without even waving back or responding, he silently walks with Hinata.
“Hey, Tsukishima, did you buy anything? I bought a t-shirt! This, ‘The Wisdom of The Ace’...”
Hinata is about to take the t-shirt out from the plastic bag when Tsukishima gives him a glare and says as he walks past, “... Don’t ever speak of that again in front of me.”
“Eh?”
Surprised, Hinata stops in his tracks, but Tsukishima quickly moves ahead. Hurriedly chasing Tsukishima, Hinata shouts, “What is it! I haven’t even said anything yet! Hey! Tsukishima! Wait, hey!!”

Moving this PSA to the end of the post because the project has ended (I think? Waiting for Viz’s response now) but someone might still be interested. Or you know, you can spam Viz directly here lol.
PSA:
I encourage whoever reading my translation to please support the official release by buying the light novel if you can. The illustrations and bonuses like the reversible covers are delightful! AND if the novel gets more sales it will be more likely for us to get more release. But, I get that it might be difficult for some to spend money for a novel that you can’t actually read because it’s in Japanese.
And so I happened to saw this Twitter account @HQlntranslate the other day. They are trying to get VIZ to do an official English release for Haikyuu Light Novel. How great that’d be! We could get every single chapter translated by professional translators who know what they’re doing unlike this amateur translator wannabe lol.
Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, go visit the Twitter account and fill in the form so that we can get the light novel released in English and support the series!
PS. I swear this is not a sponsored post lol.
#haikyuu#hq#haikyuu light novel#hq light novel#translation#fukurodani#nekoma#bokuto koutarou#kuroo tetsurou#yaku morisuke#haiba lev#tsukishima kei#i should say poor tsukki#but i actually enjoy tsukki's descent into madness after getting involved with bokuto and kuroo :')#akaashi save him

CURSE WORDS AND BABIES W/ THE HQ!! BOYS
[ the question is: would they curse in front of a child? or would they resist the urge to let that very colorful vocabulary of theirs to escape their lips and save it for when they’re not around? ]
CAN’T HELP IT BUT CURSE: [this is the type of guy who just really really can’t hold it in. it’s like they’re not even aware they’ve said until the child is repeating what they’ve said and you’re on their back scolding them for it. the urge to curse is stronger than them most times— a habit that has become automatic now. (“i didn’t even say anything this time!” “yes, you did!” *thinks* “fuck... maybe i did” “!!!”) the type to say it again in frustration after your child has repeated it, absolutely. some of them feel really bad afterwards and try making mental notes not to say such things when they’re around children in general; others just really don’t care and tend to forget a lot more easily. however, neither of them really mean it (and they sure don’t want to have you on their back lecturing them for letting the words slip all the time), and they’re trying their hardest not to but it just... beats them. despite this flaw of theirs, they would never teach a small child how to swear on purpose. it’s genuinely on accident, as irritanting and chaotic as it sounds.]
iwaizumi, semi (these two feel so, SO bad afterwards pls forgive them), suna (really, it beats him. sometimes he forgets, half the time he doesn’t really care— it is what it is), kageyama, kyotani, KAMASAKI, futakuchi, konoha, hoshiumi, osamu, atsumu (they like to say none of them does it to spite the other but in reality?? yeah no, they’re on the same boat), daichi, nishinoya, tanaka, lev (“it was an honest mistake” *sighs* “okay fine but don’t do it again; doesn’t do it that regularly but still), bokuto
USES “SHUCKS” INSTEAD OF ACTUAL CURSE WORDS: [they can’t really hold it in but have gotten used to saying something similar and less aggressive than what they actually mean to say. if it’s a better way of letting out that frustration and whatnot, you don’t know, but you let it pass. really, they just want to be cute. and for some reason your child doesn’t really find the substitute words as funny as the real ones so they don’t repeat them as often as they’d repeat “fuck” or “shit”, and that’s somewhat more relieving. still, they might let one or two curse words slip by when they’re distracted/deep in their own world. some of them think making up different words so children don’t listen to the actual words they mean it’s absolutely ridiculous and stupid (but they do it anyways); others find it genuinely funny and adorable, and will lowkey melt if they catch a child repeating them. their most used words vary from “shucks!”, “fudge nuggets!”, “sugar!”, “oh sugar honey iced tea!”, “fiddlesticks!”, “darn!”, “son of a biscuit!” and so on.]
yaku (and he actually, religiously, canonly says “shucks”), OIKAWA (uses this from time to time however he never once actually swore out loud in the presence of a child and iwaizumi hates that it’s true), sugawara (USED TO, but considering he’s around children a lot he doesn’t do it as often anymore even tho it seldom slips), hinata, GOSHIKI, tendou (he makes up the dumbest, most random names to substitute the actual words he means— a part of me thinks he’d teach some kids a little less PG words tho)
DOESN’T SWEAR IN FRONT OF A CHILD: [the role models; the kind of guy you want to babysit each and every single kid in the neighborhood: responsible, respectful, calm and collected, they know that letting bad words slip is never a good, acceptable thing when around small children. they’ve done their homework and they’ve done it really well. sure, they’re human and they sometimes have the need to curse, but it’s not in their being to ever do it in front of children. the others above envy them, because you never once lectured them for not being able to help themselves. parents and grandparents love them as they’re so well behaved. and the kids? adore them to no end. yes, there are now funny, new words coming out of these guys’ mouths but they make up for it by actually knowing how to entertain a small child (not that the others don’t, but these rely on the purest forms of entertaining the youth only).]
ennoshita, asahi (he really doesn’t want to upset anyone okay baby), yamaguchi, KUROO (honestly i feel like he’d pretend he’s about to swear just to tease you but he never actually swears in front of children), kai, AONE, akaashi, ushijima, shirabu (this guy doesn’t entertain kids for fun, it’s like a chore to him and he does not like it; however doesn’t curse because ushijima needs to see how respectful he is), kita, aran, reon, sachiro
YOU NEVER SEE THEM AROUND KIDS/PREFERS NOT TO TALK TO KIDS OVERALL: [the ones that just don’t vibe with kids and can almost never be found near them. if some of the others could, i’m sure they’d also be here but i think that these are the ones who stand out the most in this category when narrowing them down. to them, children are like those tiny, moving things that should definitely stay with their parents— and away from them, of course. if it’s their children that will definitely not be the case, they’ll love them and try engaging with them in their own, weird ways but honestly i don’t see them having baby fever any time soon. they’re the least recommended type to babysit as some of them would most likely end up forgetting they were babysitting a child; leave them alone for quite a long period of time to do their own things; the list can go on. they don’t necessarily mean any harm to children in general, they just really don’t want to be around them as much as possible and would prefer it if their world and the little kids’ world would stay apart.]
sakusa (“kids are disgusting, so many germs”), tsukishima, kenma, kunimi, kuguri, taichi

spare konoha dating hc's 🥺
believe it or not i had these in my drafts already. hope you enjoy :3
******************************************
boyfriend scenarios/dating headcanons
haiba lev, akinori konoha as your boyfriend
*****************************************
warnings: none
pairings: lev x reader; konoha x reader
*****************************************
lev
he is baby
you were in the same class. he noticed you but didn’t act on it except for occasional greetings in the hallways or small talk during lessons.
one day you got dragged to practice by one of your friends who apparently had a crush on one of the other players.
when lev saw you he walked over and asked why you were here. but not in a bad manner, but was rather excited. then you explained and he got kind of down because it sounded like you didn’t want to be here.
you saw it and added
‘but i would really like to see you play too, so give your best, alright?’
his face lit up and he was flowed by motivation.
‘i will! so watch me!’ and he ran back to the court. you had a light blushy smile on your face because of his cute reaction.
the next few weeks you came to practice every day and you could feel lev’s motivation rise up every time you set foot into the gym
he talked to you before and after practice and even started conversations in class. after a few days he asked you to have lunch with him, that’s when he asked you for your number too.
he texted you every day. texted? spammed!! but you didn’t seem annoyed, responded every time and laughed at his jokes. he didn’t really notice to have fallen for you until he realized that his thoughts were kind of always on you.
when you were hin class, he was literally staring at you the whole time. when he found a funny meme online he thought ‘i bet y/n would like that.’ and sends it to you. and his teammates are so annoyed! he talks about you 24/7.
kuroo made him realize. lev had one of his rants about you and kuroo was fed up.
‘alright we get it! n/n-chan is great and you like them!’
‘like them?’ and he thought about it and he was right.
was way too shy to confess at first. he started to get a bit distant and observe you from afar until it struck him.
at one practice yaku was going off on lev for being incompetent and stuff as per usual. but this was the first time you saw it and it made you feel really bad. lev looked so sad and defeated as he tried to explain himself to yaku.
you stood in between those two and defended him.
that’s when lev couldn’t take it anymore. he just blurted the confession out in front of the whole team.
‘y/n-chan, i really really like you! pleasebemygirl-/boy-friend.’ he said way too fast and way too loud. the whole gym had gone quiet. [they really hoped for you to accept. they all knew about lev’s feelings, i mean he is really obvious. they are like a super supportive family]
‘yeah, i’d really like that.’ you could hear them all breathe out at once.
cheering and a bear hug from lev after.
you had your first kiss on your first date. not because there was a mood but lev became over excited. he had planned this date for days and since this was his first date ever he researched. on. the. internet.
and this one article said that couples who kissed on their first date were reportedly less likely to separate. he believed this shady article.
he made it his goal to kiss you and desperately waited for the right moment. but every time he thought about it the moment was gone.
after a while he looked really down and you asked him what was wrong. he explained his problem. after that you chuckled and kissed him.
he blushed so badly. pouted a bit because he was the one who wanted to kiss you though.
study dates? well you have to tutor him... he has other qualities than being clever.
carries you around on his back, randomly picks you up bridal style or sneaks up to you from behind hugging you.
hear me out. he is the little spoon. i just really like the idea of him being hugged from behind while you nuzzle your face into his back
when he sees you first in the morning you bet he screams your name and waves even when he is still on the other side of the hallway. he is always so exited to see you.
this guy is an adhd (no offence) patient. he doesn’t even notice that he is fidgeting with your fingers or subconsciously braids your hair but doesn’t stop either when he realizes
good morning and good night texts every day
he picks you flowers when he sees them along his way
jealousy: always
when he sees you talking to one of your male classmates or even his teammates he starts pouting and won’t talk to you before you didn’t assure him how much you loved him and maybe kissed him. after he is back to his cheery self
konoha
this boy is a dork. a good one though
how you met? you were a friend and classmate of akaashi
akaashi had a team lunch scheduled at one break and he had totally forgotten about it because he was just eating with you.
the whole team [mainly bokuto] blew up his phone asking where he was. bokuto forced him to attend
‘but i’m with n/n right now.’
‘just bring them along.’ so you tagged along.
‘should i really? i mean it’s a team meeting.’
‘don’t worry, bokuto asked me to bring you more than once already. they will like you.’
you arrived and bokuto hugged you tightly
‘n/n-chaaaan.’ after he introduced you to everybody
konoha was still missing though. 15 minutes into the lunch break he showed up out of breath from running and sat directly next to you, neither realizing your presence nor how close you were. he explained why he was late. after that bokuto just randomly remarked
‘btw that is l/n y/n next to you.’ that’s when konoha looked at you for the first time and scooted away from you out of embarrassment
‘god i’m really sorry, i thought you were one of us.’
‘ah it’s fine’ and you smiled a wide closed-eye smiles which could brighten up the whole day of the person addressed. and it did.
konoha blushed really bad as he reached out his hand for you to shake
‘konoha’ ‘y/n’
this was the moment he knew he wanted to get to know you better. you were so pretty
the rest of the meeting konoha asked you tons of questions about yourself while the rest of the team except bokuto exchanged knowing glances and smirks
the next day he came to your class. he didn’t plan on talking to you but check on you so he awkwardly stood in the door frame looking for you. in vain. you were nowhere to be seen
right when he was about to leave he flinched as he heard your voice behind him
‘konoha-kun? what are you doing here?’
he was a stuttering mess, then akaashi saved him.
‘we need to talk about something club related’
‘i’ll leave you two to it then.’ and you walked to your seat
‘thanks you really saved my ass here.’
akaashi this little jerk wrote what happened into the group chat of the team. they all hyped him up to ask you out. at first he refused but they started bugging him so hard that he finally gave in. bokuto is his personal hype man. [lots of shoulder pats and thumbs up in the next few days.]
he got your number from akaashi and asked you for a meeting on the weekend
he took you to lunch and a long walk in the park were he confessed. he tried to be as cool and composed as possible but failed miserably
you let him speak though and gave him your sweetest smile to encourage him to continue. you didn’t look surprised though so he got a little worried
‘wait, did you know?’
‘not really, but bokuto’s sign language whenever we talked was a bis suspicious.’ he chuckled on your remark but knew that this joke didn’t mean you accepted him. he put his hand on the back of his neck and asked the question
‘y/n, i know we don’t know each other for long but when i first saw you i couldn’t take my eyes of you. you are the prettiest and nicest person i know. would you be my girl-/boy-friend?’ he was a bit calmer and freer in his speech after your remark
he lost his confidence though when you didn’t answer for a few seconds
‘ah, was that too much? i’m-’ you cut him off with a kiss. it was just a quick peck but it was enough to leave him speechless
‘yeah, i’d really really like that, konoha.’
he was so relieved.
he kissed you again right after, but this time deeper and more passionate, putting his hands on either side of your jaw as yours rested on his chest feeling his fast heartbeat.
at the beginning of your relationship he was nervous and rather shy really. you didn’t know each other that long so he was afraid that you might not like him anymore if he opened up too much at a time. but when he realized how serious you actually were about him he didn’t hesitate.
he shoots really bad jokes and pick up lines at you all the time.
he shows you off so much. he is so proud of everything you do. the whole team knows every one of your test results and every meme you ever sent him.
he takes photos of you in private and posts them all over his social media [with your permission of course]
has a really pretty picture of you as his lock screen and wallpaper.
kiss him on his cheek while taking a selfie and you can be sure this guy gets a nosebleed
his room is hung with framed pictures of you [you two]
hugs? yes please. hug his waist and rest you head on his chest and he will marry you on spot. he also loves to hug you from behind and rest his head/forehead on your shoulder. that gets really awkward sometimes because he does that randomly even when you are chatting with your friends.
that’s also how he expresses his jealousy. when a guy is hitting on you he just walks up from behind, hugs you and stares the guy down with his piercing green eyes.
he likes to act cool in public, the team knows him as a joker but as soon as he is fully comfortable around you [which didn’t take long btw] he is a complete different person. he is a big softie, tells you all about his worries and likes to be comforted by you.
resting his head on your chest, listening to your heartbeat while you stroke his hair is his second favorite hobby apart from volleyball
lots of hand holding and side hugs as pda. also loves to have his arm around you waist as kind of protection from other guys

Akaashi’s birthday
“This has to be perfect.” Bokuto groaned, tugging up on the large tarp.
Currently, he and his team were attempting at surprising Akaashi for his birthday—at 5am might I add. Bokuto and Konoha were parched upon two ladders and tugging a tarp up to a railing in their gym to tie it there. It was difficult, and the tarp was heavy, but they were determined to do it regardless. They had gotten permission from their coach and administrators to do it. It’s not like they’d keep it up that long.
“Bokuto come on, be real. It doesn’t have to be perfect!” Konoha complained, his arms practically shaking as he was the only one to hold up his side of the tarp, “I didn’t wake up this early to have this much pain in my arms.”
“We’re almost done Konoha, please toughen up. I’ll buy you your favourite, Tatsuta-style Fried Chicken if you help.” Bokuto bribed, leaning into the railing to hold the tarp up while he tied a knot.
“Fine. Might as well do it tonight—we’re going out for his birthday ri-“
“Not tonight. I have something planned.” Bokuto cut in.
He eyed Konoha for a moment, it was the type of look you’d normally only see from him if it were on the court. It sent chills down Konoha’s spine but it was left unnoticed. The team was surprised that this was so important to him, he rarely takes anything seriously, especially asking the team to wake up so early. Bokuto may be their captain, and he may walk to school with Akaashi everyday, but he and Akaashi are always late. Normally because of Bokuto accidentally sleeping in. That’s why they were here early and expecting Akaashi at any time. There was no Bokuto to slow him down in the morning so they figured he’d show up on time.
————
“We’re almost done.” Bokuto said finally, looking over to Konoha who was struggling to tie the knot. Bokuto watched the other struggle and attempted to talk him through how to tie it. That seemed to work as-
“I got it!” Konoha exclaimed in an exhausted huff, finally allowing himself to relax the leg and hand that were holding the tarp up.
“Okay, now that you’ve got it get down from there.” Sarukui called from his place on the gym floor, “It’s not that safe!”
Eventually Bokuto and Konoha climbed down their respective ladders, taking a step back to look at the tarp. It was decorated with big, bolded letters saying “Happy Birthday Akaashi!” along with some other things like “have a good birthday”, and “have a good day”. Things like that.
“What time is it?” The ace questioned, pulling the ladder back to its normal state to store it back in their storage closet.
“Uh, 6:17.” Komi replied.
Ugh, Bokuto thought, Akaashi won’t be here for at least another half an hour.
“Is there anything else we need to do, your highness?” Konoha mocked as he took a seat on the floor. He rested his elbow on his knee and placed his chin in the palm of his hand. It was clear he was tired still.
“Honestly, nothing. I’m happy with what we have here. We should probably set the nets up quickly though.” Bokuto suggested, glancing at the door for a short moment before urging his team to help him set up their net.
It wasn’t long until the net was up, it never took much time for them to put it up. Bokuto finished by tying up the last string for the net, making it nice and tight. When he was done a wide smile tugged at the corners of his lips, he was excited for this. He was going to do something he’s been waiting to do for a really long time. That was exciting to him.
“It’s only 6:25 Bokuto, he won’t be here for a while longer.” A female voice called out, Shirofuku, one of their managers. She’d probably seen Bokutos smile and decided to crush his dreams, because that’s what she did.
“I know!” Bokuto groaned, placing his hands on the sides of his head as he did so. Needless to say, Bokuto was impatient.
The team could start practice early seeing everyone was there, but Bokuto wanted it to be a nice surprise. No sweaty bodies trying to hug him. Though, Bokuto was sweating regardless. So that rule was.. useless.
“Is it just me or is it hot in here?” Bokuto gasped after a while, waving his hand on his face in attempt to cool himself down.
“It’s just you Bokuto.” Komi replied with a roll of the eyes, looking over at Bokuto as he gave him a confused look.
“Akaashi should be here any minute so stop sweating.”
————
The team was startled with the door to the gym sliding open. They all got to their feet quickly and prepared to shout a happy birthday to Akaashi. When they shouted it though they were greeted with a surprised coach. They all deflated upon seeing their coach instead of Akaashi but were greeted with a smile nonetheless.
“If you guys plan on surprising him that would do the trick.” Their coach hummed, stepping into the gym and closing the door behind him.
“Have you seen him?” Bokuto asked, a frown playing upon his lips instead of his smile.
“No, I thought he’d be here by now.” Their coach said simply, looking around the gym before noticing the big tarp. He let out a soft chuckle at that.
“Man, we’ve been here since 5.” Konoha complained again, plopping down on the ground again.
“Stop complaining! You didn’t have to come if you didn’t want to.” Bokuto hissed, shooting him a glare. It quickly disappeared though as he’d looked away.
Bokuto was about to say something when they heard the door slide open, a flood of apologies following it. That, was definitely Akaashi.
“Happy birthday Akaashi!” The team shouted. It could’ve been more enthusiastic but it was the morning, what could you expect.
Akaashi looked up from his place by the door, blinking at his team. He was confused for a moment but a smile appeared on his face eventually. He looked around as he stood, dropping his jacket by the wall.
“You guys did this for me?” He asked, placing his hands on his hips and laughing.
“Don’t laugh! We’ve been here since 5 in the morning waiting for you!” Bokuto frowned, walking over to him and standing in front of him.
“Well Bokuto. Maybe you should’ve told me you’d be leaving before me. I waited outside of your house for 10 minutes. And when your mom finally noticed me outside she said you’d left.” Akaashi explained, glancing away from his upperclassmen.
“Oh.” Bokuto mumbled, scratching his neck. He really should’ve told him.. if he did though Akaashi would probably think something was up. Bokuto never left earlier than Akaashi.
“It’s okay though, I’m happy with the surprise. I wasn’t expecting it.” He hummed, looking at the other with a smile.
“I’m glad you do. Uh, I was uh...” Bokuto trailed off, looking away from the other as he tried thinking of the right words to use—which was something that didn’t happen often. He’d planned this in his head for so long, exactly how he was going to say it. But when it came to actually saying it it didn’t come out.
“What?” Akaashi asked, shifting his weight, nervousness laced his voice. He thought he’d done something wrong.
The team watched the two converse with dead stares. They were disappointed Bokuto didn’t get anything out. When he’d told Konoha that he had something planned they all knew what he was going to do, it was no surprise Bokuto liked his setter.
“I- uh..” he stumbled over his words, sputtering nonsense for a good moment before looking Akaashi in the eyes and finally blurting out what he wanted to say. With a flushed face might I add.
“Let me treat you to dinner tonight!”
Akaashi looked up at the other dumbfounded, blinking rapidly as if he’d heard the other completely wrong. He knew he didn’t though. The way Bokutos face had turned red, the way his eyes danced from the wall and him and even the way he’d chewed on his lip. It gave it away. Akaashi finally sighed, relieving the tension he’d built up inside himself.
“Why was that so hard for you?”
“I-I don’t know. Yes or no?” He asked, shifting his weight again. Bokuto was afraid of rejection, and he’d always told people about it. So doing this was something way out of his comfort zone. As he waited for his answer he brought a hand to the back of his neck, rubbing at the short hairs there.
“Hmm,” Akaashi tilted his head in a way to show he was thinking, it looked sarcastic though, “I don’t know Bokuto, maybe.”
“Oh. Okay.. I’ll pick you up at 7?” Bokuto said, a smile finally tugging at his lips again.
“That’s fine by me,” Akaashi said with a smile, “oh, and thanks for this. It made my morning.” Akaashi mentioned, motioning to the tarp and the happy birthday.
“Your welcome.” Bokuto said, taking a big step back before turning and jumping.
Akaashi stayed back for a moment, watching as the team started to tease Bokuto about it even though wide smiles were in their faces.
“This year’s birthday is already perfect.” And with that he joined his team to practice.

Sowlmate
It was one of those days that could be good, but unfortunately it wasn't. Your knees did again for reasons and your mood was from now on in the basement. The soulmate phenomenon was horrible, especially if you had one like yours.
"It's definitely an athlete." Your mother calmed you down when you told her about pain in my knees or that you often had small wounds or bruises. "Then he's pretty bad in there," you grumbled.
Even today, everything hurt you. The palms of the hands, the knees, especially the left knee hurt like hell and today, of all places, where you and your cheerleaders should cheer on your volleyball team. You groan, rubbing your bones that hurt. "Are you all right (Y / N)?" Asked a classmate, nodded in the affirmative and explained to her that it was normal. "At least you're in a good mood," she said with a laugh and left you alone.
Bokuto took a deep breath. He had to hit, only once he had to hit ... Uncertain prepares himself, but something kept him from sinking completely into his depression, a little warm feeling of happiness, spreading in his chest. His Soulmate must have been doing just fine. He was a little pleased, but it didn't help him much. He groaned in frustration so that everyone on the team noticed. "What do we do with Bokuto?" Came very quietly from Konoha, who had turned to Akaashi. "I dont know. I've never seen him like today. ”The black-haired mumbled and looked at his best friend Capitan and shone a star. It was hopeless to find a good way out for the gray-haired.
"Bokuto-san, you're not snowing well, don't you want to stop?" Asked Sakusa politely, but the question triggered the young man with the two-tone hair color. "Tzzk? I'm fine. ”He grumbled and looked at Akaashi. "Toss me perfectly! I can do it! ”He exclaimed over-motivated and his comrades, knew that he was serious, but everyone was sure that could go wrong. Akaashi took a deep breath. "I will."
So fate was sealed.
You watched intently as the boys from your Itachiyama school cornered Fukurodani high school. You rejoice when Komori gave a good acceptance and continued to play the ball. "(Y / N) It's your turn," said one of your friends, but you weren't sure if you should go to the confined space, especially because your knee hurt more than before. "Better not," you said and turned back to the game. The Fukurodani captain said something and then everything happened so quickly.
The captain with the owl-like hairstyle jumped into the air and hit the ball too hard, so that you could hear the clapping in the rostrum, but to load his feet normally again, he bent his left leg away and shook a marrow Scream out, your knee suddenly hurt like hell and you had to hold on to your friend. But to feel anger or rage, relief or knowledge about you. "(Y / n) Should I take you to the doctor?" Asked someone from your year, but you shake your head. "I have to go to the owl boy ... he's my soulmate." All the properties looked at you in confusion, but you were 100% sure that this white-haired guy was your soul mate.
The relief disappeared as quickly as it appeared, you felt like crying for it, but pulled his will together. Your classmates had quickly taken you to the paramedic, where a depressed wing spiker was sitting. He looked up as you sat on the lounger next to it. "Got it wrong?" He asked, but you winced. His voice was deep and hoarse, as if he had cried, you could see something glittering in the corner of his golden eyes.
"My soulmate came up wrong." You sigh and lifted the left leg up, which turned slightly blue. "You did pretty well," you say encouragingly. "You're just a stranger who happens to have the same injury as me." The white-haired grunted. "You until just a bit of a fool who is relieved that he lies straight on his mouth just because the ball went in."
Bokuto stared at you and you back. "You are my sowlmate?" „Well… Maybe?“

And Everything Was Fine
Written for Bokuroo Week 2018 Day Four: April 4th - You can't always get what you want
AO3
Kuroo would rather be anywhere than at this party. Though he was using the term party very loosely at this point. They were all in their thirties, they didn’t party per say more like a small gathering of old friends with a few drinks and food. People had to get home early to relieve sitters and they had work early in the morning. Other adult things that made Kuroo’s stomach twist and pull in odd ways.
Kuroo wasn’t jealous, not really. He was glad for his friends who managed to snag dream jobs and those who had started families or were beginning to start families. He was happy to hear about trips to far away places and upcoming vacations. He wasn’t jealous but he did feel stuck.
Going to university had been a no brainer for Kuroo. He was at the top of his class in high school and he had done fantastically in college. He had even managed to get a decent research job using his degree after he graduated. But then the funds had dried up when the research led nowhere and Kuroo had been out of a job. He spent his days working at an onsen and nights bartending while he continued to room with his college roommate.
Kuroo didn’t know why Sawamura continued to room with him, perhaps pity or concern, but the other man was just about the only good thing going in Kuroo’s life. Sawamura had gotten joined the police academy after high school and gotten into Tokyo police department rather easily. Kuroo and Sawamura had moved in together after a disastrous first dormmate experience Kuroo had. Sawamura had gotten his criminal justice degree doing night courses and had moved up to detective just this past year. He earned more than enough to get his own place but he stayed with Kuroo.
Kuroo kept expecting Sawamura to bring home some beautiful creature with him one day and inform Kuroo he was moving out. Only god knew why the other man didn’t have someone as of yet, Kuroo had no romantic notions towards the other man but Sawamura in uniform was a sight to behold.
Sawamura was the one who dragged Kuroo to the party. It was a lowkey affair but mostly Kuroo wanted to go home, change into his comfy clothes, and cuddle with Sawamura on the couch.
“Hey hey hey!” A booming voice cut through the low chatter, causing eyerolls and grins all around as someone unexpected entered the house. Kuroo’s stomach twisted as he looked over at the front entrance to the large form of his high school crush.
High school crush was actually putting it mildly. Saying it that way made it seem as if it was something in the past, something Kuroo had gotten over and moved on from within the passing years. Kuroo had moved on from the crush portion, that was true, now it was just full blown out unrequited love.
Bokuto was one of those few lucky people who seemed to get everything they ever dreamed of. It didn’t just fall into his lap, he worked hard everyday of his life to get what he deserved and Kuroo had seen it first hand. Had seen the blood, sweat, and tears Bokuto had shed to claw his way to the top. How he had to start over from the bottom again and again and push his way to the top. He was returning home from his second time at the Olympics and looked really great from his time spent in training.
Akaashi appeared to Bokuto’s left, smiling as he placed a hand on Bokuto’s arm to keep his former ace from waving his hands around wildly. That was another thing Bokuto had gotten right, Akaashi. The man had only gotten more beautiful with age, he carried a calm sort of dignity that Kuroo couldn’t even pretend he had.
“Tetsurou!” Bokuto shouted happily once he spotted Kuroo, bounding over to him and wrapping some rather impressive arms around Kuroo. Kuroo leaned into the hug, wrapping his own arms around Bokuto’s waist and squeezing him gently. Kuroo pressed his face into Bokuto’s neck, tried not to inhale too deeply and look like a complete nutjob. “Rough day, eh?” Kuroo nodded and allowed Bokuto to rub up and down his back soothingly, his hand big and warm and a little rough against Kuroo’s back.
Kuroo pulled away because he was sure there was some sort of social norm that mandated the length of hugs between friends and he had already overstepped that by a lot. Bokuto beamed at him, cheeks and nose a little red due to sunburn.
“I told you to be careful.” Kuroo said, tapping Bokuto’s nose and watching it scrunch up adorably in response.
“This is nothing, you should have seen Akaashi’s face.” Bokuto said with a grin. Because Akaashi had gone to see Bokuto at the olympics, he had seen Bokuto’s amazing plays in person and had been there to support him while Kuroo was stuck at home, watching recorded games because he had been working during the real thing.
“What about my face?” Akaashi asked as he walked over with Sawamura.
“You need to take better care of your skin Akaashi.” Bokuto stated wisely, as if he hadn’t spent a day sprawled out on Kuroo’s living room floor once when they were 22 and he claimed that he didn’t need sunscreen and spent the entire day playing beach volleyball. He had been as red as a lobster and Kuroo had mercilessly teased him while simultaneously pointing all fans at Bokuto’s body and spreading aloe over his burnt skin.
“I will do better in the future, thank you Bokuto.” Akaashi’s voice was flat but Bokuto beamed as if he had no idea that Akaashi was being a little shit.
“Did someone say baby pictures?” Bokuto turned his head before quickly making his way over to Konoha, who was showing off his new twins.
Kuroo watched Bokuto lean over Konoha’s shoulder, cooing and laughing at various pictures and videos. There was always light and life practically oozing out of Bokuto. The first Olympic he was in he became a fast fan favorite with his good looks and cheerful personality. Kuroo had seen the numerous fan encounter pictures, with Bokuto hunched over his usually much smaller companion and both of them grinning broadly at the camera. It made Kuroo’s heart ache sweetly with each picture he saw, every interview and game he watched.
Kuroo turned away from Bokuto before anyone else noticed his staring. He turned back just in time to see Akaashi and Sawamura sharing a smile, standing close to each other. It would have been normal if Sawamura’s mouth was nearly touching Akaashi’s ear, his forehead resting against Akaashi’s temple. Akaashi was slightly taller than Sawamura but it wasn’t usually a noticable difference unless they were right on top of each other.
“What are you doing?” Kuroo hissed out, appalled and feeling queasy as he glanced back over at an oblivious Bokuto before turning back to people he used to admire. Akaashi’s eyebrows rose delicately as Sawamura turned to Kuroo.
“We’re around friends.” Sawamura said firmly.
“Bokuto’s here!” Kuroo rubbed at his face. “You shouldn’t even be doing that in the first place.” Kuroo couldn’t believe Akaashi and Sawamura were looking at him as if he was the one doing something wrong. As if he had been the one to shamelessly flirt with a taken man.
“What the hell Kuroo?” Sawamura asked, voice tight and temper high if he was referring to Kuroo by his family name. They had long ago lost all formalities with each other.
“Wait,” Akaashi placed his hand on Sawamura’s bicep, holding the other man back and Kuroo gave a quick glance to Bokuto to see that he was still occupied. Kuroo knew long distance relationships were hard but he never expected Akaashi to have an affair and especially not with Sawamura. “Why would it matter if Bokuto is here?”
“Because you two have been dating since forever.” Kuroo began to wonder if maybe Bokuto knew, if they had an open relationship. Kuroo and Bokuto didn’t much talk about their romantic relationships. Mostly for Kuroo it was because he had none and it hurt to hear Bokuto talk about Akaashi so he never asked about it.
“We went out on two dates a decade ago before realizing we were better off as friends.” Akaashi’s voice had dipped low, devoid of emotion which usually was a telling sign that he was truly and properly angry. “I’ve been dating Sawamura for months now.” Kuroo turned to Sawamura, who nodded in agreement.
“I told you about it when it started.” Sawamura confirmed.
“You-” Kuroo went over his past conversations with Sawamura in his head. “You said Akaashi would be around more often and if I was okay with that. That he might crash at our place but mostly you would be staying there.” Kuroo felt like a complete idiot and Akaashi shaking his head didn’t help.
“It’s okay, you’ve been kind of having a rough go of things.” Sawamura gave Kuroo’s head a rub.
“No, don’t comfort him, he’s an idiot.” Akaashi chastised Sawamura, pulling his hand away from Kuroo’s head and entwining their fingers. “You’re completely missing the most crucial part.”
“Crucial part?” Kuroo asked, edging backwards from Akaashi’s fierce frown.
“The fact that you’ve been in love with Bokuto for years now and he’s felt the same way.” Akaashi sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose with his free hand. “I couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t confess when it was so blindingly obvious.”
“It was?” Kuroo hesitantly asked because he was afraid that it wasn’t true. Nothing was really going as Kuroo had expected his life to go and he never thought he would actually have his feelings returned.
“Yes it was, still is.” Sawamura confirmed. Sawamura might enjoy playing a prank or two on Kuroo but he was never outright cruel. If he said Bokuto loved Kuroo then he was telling the truth.
“I’m going to steal Konoha’s baby.” Bokuto said as he walked back over. “They are super tired and there are two of them so they probably won’t notice if one goes missing, right?” Bokuto glanced around for confirmation.
“Daichi, do you need something to drink?” Akaashi asked tactfully, leading his apparent boyfriend away and leaving Kuroo alone with Bokuto.
“So, Akaashi and Daichi are dating huh?” Kuroo asked.
“For months now.” Bokuto turned back to Kuroo with a frown. “You okay?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Kuroo asked, genuinely curious.
“Because you’ve been in love with Daichi for years.” Bokuto glanced around once more. “So him dating someone else must really suck.” Kuroo’s heart felt like it stuttered and stopped for a moment before he took a step closer to Bokuto because he could have sworn it sounded like Bokuto was jealous. Jealous of Kuroo being in love with someone else.
“I don’t love Daichi, at least not like that.” Kuroo stated firmly.
“But wasn’t he your first kiss and everything?” Bokuto asked and Kuroo cringed at the memory.
“Yeah but that was a long time ago when we were trying to figure ourselves out.” Kuroo had been coming to terms with the fact that he was gay. Being in love with one of your best friends was one thing but admitting that you’d never have the wife and kids your parents always pictured you with? That was a difficult adjustment. Sawamura was bisexual and dealing the a lot of the same problems, especially with going into a career with the police. It came with certain stigmas. Kuroo and Sawamura felt comfortable with each other enough to experiment. No real feelings were involved and it was mostly clumsy and messy with a lot of mistakes and laughter. Kuroo couldn’t regret that, but maybe he should have made things clearer to Bokuto.
“So you don’t love him?” Bokuto asked, also taking another step closer.
“Not him.” Kuroo glanced down at Bokuto’s lips, a little red from sunburn and cracked and dry.
“Just kiss already!” Someone shouted from behind them and they both turned to see the entire room looking at them.
Kuroo laughed as Bokuto ducked his head, hiding his blushing face in his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around the other man, content for that night. Not much had changed. The next morning Kuroo would have to get up early to go open the onsen and he would spend a long night bartending afterwards while his degree sat in a box gathering dust and he continued to room with his old room mate, who he was not in love with, but right at that moment everything was just as it should be.

Enemy Friend
Hey, here with a new chapter. I am quite satisfied with how this turned out and hope you’re all too.
Chapter 3
Chapter 1 // Chapter 2 // Masterlist
Pairing: Kuroo Tetsurou/Akaashi Keiji Warnings: Mentions of blood and death Ao3
“I AM BACK!” Bokuto exclaimed as he slammed the door to the room Kuroo was in open.
Akaashi averted his eyes from Kuroo to the doorway where Bokuto was standing. Akaashi was glad to see Bokuto unharmed and in one piece. Konoha was standing behind Bokuto, also unharmed from what Akaashi could see. Contrary to Bokuto who was beaming and smiling, Konoha looked sceptical and cautious.
“Bokuto-san,” Akaashi spoke up calmly. “Please be a little more considerate of Kuroo-san’s health condition. You should speak quietly.”
Bokuto laughed and walked into the room. He sat on the other chair in the room that was closer to Kuroo’s bed than Akaashi’s chair. Konoha entered the room too, closed the door, and stood there like a bouncer, guarding the door. Kuroo, who had been quiet until now, looked from Konoha to Bokuto, then to Akaashi. He let his gaze rest on Akaashi for a moment, Akaashi reciprocating it calmly, and then Kuroo looked at Bokuto again.
“I guess you want an explanation now,” Kuroo said. He had been ready to talk since the moment Akaashi told him he had to explain a lot of things. But Akaashi had insisted that Kuroo should wait until Bokuto and Konoha were back., and told him to rest until then. Kuroo had become visibly better since he had woken up, which Akaashi was relieved about, but he was still weak.
“That would be nice,” Bokuto spoke up. “Your pack wants you back desperately and we’ve already informed them that you woke up, but we can’t let you go until we know if that event is going to be a problem for us.”
Kuroo nodded. “As you maybe already know, I’ve recently become an alpha by being chosen as one. That pack and ours always had a…different view on things, and I guess they thought that we would be the weakest while so much power is being shifted around, and that this would be the perfect time to attack us.”
That was very vague.
“We shifted around a lot of power too,” Akaashi spoke up. “Why didn’t they attack us?”
Kuroo fixed Akaashi with his gaze. “Because your alpha got his power through a rather very old buried way, and anyone would be too scared to attack a pack that had been tyrannical not too long ago. A new alpha who dared to form a pack within another pack, throw over the old pack, and managed to become the head of power, is not an alpha to be messed with, but to be begged to accept them as an ally.”
Akaashi looked from the calm Kuroo to a confused Konoha, and then to a grinning Bokuto. Kuroo’s answer had made it seem as if Kuroo had no intentions of being a threat to Fukurodani but wanted them to become allies. Akaashi didn’t know if he could believe that. Kuroo was undoubtedly smart, a schemer, who maybe was also conniving. To add to that, he had no evidence to prove his story.
“We were told you attacked them first,” Konoha said as Bokuto continued smiling at Kuroo.
“Well, I would show you all the places on our territory that got destroyed during the attack on us but I guess they have that on their own territory too,” Kuroo said.
“They do,” Konoha confirmed.
“Then I have nothing more than my word.”
“Well,” Bokuto said after a long time, smile still intact, “Since they also have nothing more than their word, we can’t blame any of you. But tell me, is this going to be a problem?”
Despite himself, Akaashi leaned forward. He was interested in how Kuroo was going to talk himself out of this question.
“Maybe. I don’t know yet. Depends what they do next but I’m not sure I can let them get away with this and also not if I can attack them. So maybe staying calm now and preparing for another attack is the best option that I have now.”
“You are surprisingly honest;” Konoha remarked.
“That’s the least I can do to thank you for your kindness.”
“Since when are you an alpha?” Bokuto suddenly asked excitedly. “Have you always wanted to become an alpha?”
The question threw Kuroo obviously off guard but not Akaashi and Konoha who had anticipated this. After a second Kuroo looked amused by it, and before Bokuto could make more fun of himself Akaashi stopped him. “Bokuto-san, Kuroo-san should continue to rest. He still hasn’t recovered fully.”
For a moment, Kuroo looked Akaashi in the eyes but then Bokuto hot his attention again. “Okay, we’ll leave for now but we’ll talk later.”
“Looking forward to it,” Kuroo said and Akaashi couldn’t tell if he was being sarcastic or not.
“Shall I stay?” Konoha asked without being subtle about it.
Akaashi could see that he was worried, the smirk on Kuroo’s face wasn’t helping at all. “I’ll be fine,” Akaashi retorted and added because he could see the hesitation on Konoha’s face. “I’ll call you when I need you.”
Konoha nodded and then left. Akaashi turned to Kuroo and said. “I need to change your bandages and inspect your wounds. For that I have to touch you. May I?”
Kuroo’s eyes widened and he stared at Akaashi without saying anything. Akaashi raised his eyebrows questioningly and that seemed to shake Kuroo out of his stupor. After getting a nod from Kuroo, Akaashi got up and approached him while he tried not to look like a threat or as if he was scared. Before he touched Kuroo, he looked at the alpha again in a silent question and nodded when Kuroo extended his arm. He untied the He untied the bandage and inspected the wounds, content to see that they had healed.
Akaashi started telling Kuroo about the progress of his wounds. They hadn’t healed fully yet, which was unusual for any werewolf, especially an alpha. But Kuroo hadn’t been just. He had been weakened with wolfsbane.
Wolfsbane also had been used against Akaashi. He knew how that felt but he still couldn’t imagine how painful it must have been tortured with so much wolfsbane and then still have to defend yourself against multiple werewolves.
Wolfsbane was an immense torturous and painful method to use against werewolves. It affected the wolf in too many negative ways and that was why no werewolf used it against another one. If one actually did use it then that werewolf was maybe either very desperate or too evil.
As Akaashi moved to Kuroo’s chest, Kuroo asked. “Is it true that Bokuto was forced to eat wolfsbane.” Akaashi froze, a bitter taste filling his mouth at the memory. Kuroo looked alarmed and instantly added. “You don’t have to…”
“It’s okay, “ Akaashi interrupted. “The former alpha heard about the coup plans and called Bokuto-san in where we all were already gathered. He offered Bokuto-san the chance to eat wolfsbane to prove his loyalty. Bokuto ate it with a smile on his lips and his insides on the floor. We had the choice to either let our future die in front of us or fight although we hadn’t been ready. We had luck that not everyone attacked, some werewolves were too unsure about whose side they should be on because they were afraid of the former alpha. But Bokuto had managed to inspire some of them to fight on our side with his sacrificing stunt. The majority of the ones who were unsure joined us when he was finally killed. The rest of them fled or was killed too.”
Kuroo was quiet for a while and then asked in a whisper. “How many did you kill?”
Akaashi looked up at him and Kuroo’s eyes widened a little. “Does it matter? I would do it all over again for Bokuto-san.”
At first Kuroo was quiet as Akaashi finished up bandaging him. Then he softly touched the scar on Akaashi’s neck with a finger. Akaashi froze and his heart started beating loudly against his chest. The bite mark had never vanished.
“Is this from that fight?”
Kuroo removed his finger when he noticed how stiff Akaashi had become but remained close to him. Akaashi felt disconcerted as he backed off from Kuroo and nodded, not elaborating on the question. He cleaned up as Kuroo put his shirt on again and said. “We’re going to have dinner soon. You can either eat it here or if you promise that you’re no danger to anyone of us you can eat with the rest of us.”
Kuroo put a hand on his chest, right above his heart, and the other hand he held in the air. “I promise.”
Akaashi watched Kuroo closely, wondering for a small second if Kuroo was going to attack him. He knew that he was being unreasonable. Kuroo had no reason to attack any of them, the incident with Onaga was a mere misunderstanding, but Akaashi didn’t like the fact that he couldn’t understand Kuroo. So far, Akaashi had spent more than enough time with Kuroo and also knew some things about his pack, so he didn’t know why he couldn’t decipher Kuroo.
“Is something wrong?” Kuroo asked. His hands were held a little away from his body, palms facing Akaashi as if he was holding his hands up in a mock defense because his pride as an alpha didn’t allow him more than that.
“I’ll put this away and come back. Then we can leave together.”
Kuroo nodded and sunk back onto the bed. As Akaashi was leaving, he didn’t have to look back to know that Kuroo was staring at him.
