He remembers each time you get a bad end and sometimes says something different... >:3 There is also an in-universe reason as to why he has his abilities — I won't spoil anything, but his real name (along with River's and one other character) have a reeeeally big tell. But what this tell is is for me to know and you to find out >:3

what they smell like: It REALLY depends on what era Bucky we’re talking about. Bucky Barnes, pre-Winter Soldier, when he was still young, had that innocent look in his eye; he smelled of tangy cologne, always trying his best to smell good, look good, flirt good, always puts up a big wide toothed smile even if his cologne mixes with sweat.Winter Soldier now; he’s lost. He doesn’t know of the old Bucky, the one that smelled good, the one that bickered with Steve with the vigor of one who doesn’t ever think of death. The Winter Soldier reeks, sweat and rust and dust, there’s dried blood beneath his fingernails and he can’t ever get it out. And then this Bucky. The current one, who who knows little of himself, but he tries goddamit, he tries. He smells like earth’s must after rain, he smells faintly of the exotic flowers he cares for in Wakanda, and nowdays, he smells like cologne again too. Not the thick heavy one he used to use, not with all these options around! He’s overwhelmed the first time he sets foot in a dpeartment store (Sam refuses to let him live it down), but eventually decides on a perfume instead of a cologne. It’s sour but soft, a discreet scent of cedarwood and some sweet flower, just enough to leave a gentle waft in the air as he passes by. This Bucky tries, and you can tell simply by the way he smells.

the position they sleep in: Again, depends on which Bucky we’re talking about. Pre war Bucky; he sleeps on his side, one hand under his head, the other extended usually towards Steve bc feeling his breath calms him During the war he doesn’t really sleep, merely rests his eyes. His back is rigid, his eyes scrunch up at the slightest of sounds. Adrenaline courses through his body day and night. As the Winter Soldier he....literally doesn’t sleep. When he’s out of the ice he just lets his brain go on auto-pilot, does what’s necessary, doesn’t even let his eyes fall shut for a moment until he’s back in that damn room and put back to a semi-eternal fleeting rest. As the current Bucky, he’s a mix of it all. He tries to sleep on his side again but finds that he feels too vulnerable. He can’t rest if he lays on his back, memories of war coming back to him all at once. Eventually he curls up, brings his knees to his chest, tucks his head close and finds he can get a semblance of sleep like that. It takes a while for him to properly sleep again, but when he does? Oh boy. He legit cried the first morning he woke up after a night of no interruptions and no nightmares. He didn’t even care to hide it, he was just so rested and in that moment, happy again.

this is long so i put it under the cut wooo

Ok so like... in FGO Canon David implies that he always sort of knew Roman was Solomon, but he didn’t allow himself to think about it, so he never really pressed Roman about it or gave any indications that he knew, he just kind of let it be and let him live his life as he was in Chaldea. But we saw in his interlude that he went out of his way to show off for Roman by fighting a bunch of spriggans, and in the Go West event there’s that moment where David seems disappointed at the realization that he won’t have time to talk to Roman once he and Mashu finally establish contact with you (and in the rerun, he’s in the shop and he has a line mentioning that he wishes he could have gotten to see Roman more), so like. I think it’s safe to say that he definitely liked to find chances to spend time with him and be around him, without really forcing his way in as a fatherly figure.

So I think David really loves his son! Even if he says things that can be pretty insensitive (like saying Solomon seemed like the type who might try and destroy humanity). But David seems like he can be a pretty thoughtless person at times, without intending to be cruel, so I don’t feel like he really meant it in a way that was supposed to imply he thought ill of Solomon. Because I think he demonstrates through his actions that he does care for his son and wants to spend time with him and be there with him like he wasn’t in life, but also respects his boundaries enough that he gives him space, never does anything that threatens to expose his secret, and lets him do his job without interfering even if he really does want to talk to him.

(Also it just like. Kills my heart cuz in the Go West event it’s been a month or so for you guys inside the event, but only a few hours or days for Mashu and Roman, so David like. Just wants to hear from Roman because it’s been a long time for him. But he still doesn’t get in the way of you guys communication even though he wanted to hear from him......... a good dad...)

As for David saying that he was never one for child rearing, and saying dismissive and insensitive stuff about Solomon, I feel like.... I big part of that is because he lost a few of his children, and the loss of his son Absalom was particularly painful for him? So I feel like after that it would have made sense if he’d sort of... distanced himself from the role of father, with his other children, including Solomon. So it’s not so much that he isn’t interested in being a father or doesn’t want to be, it’s more that he never really recovered from that loss, and doesn’t have a lot of faith in his ability to be a good parent after that, so he does what he can to distance himself from it. But his FGO personality seems to be kind of dismissive of things and generally calm and a bit of an airhead sometimes, and I feel like the dismissive part especially is his way of trying to avoid subjects he doesn’t really want to deal with or think about, which is why parenthood is one of the things he just brushes aside and doesn’t discuss much. So like.... tldr David does want to be a good dad to Soloroman he just has some baggage there and isn’t quite sure how to deal with it, and also can tell Roman doesn’t want to have his identity as Solomon acknowledged so he’s giving him his space while still trying to be a part of his life in more subtle ways.

David straight up says he adores the Queen of Sheba, and that she’s smart and graceful, but he’s a bit afraid to talk to her because they’re rivals in terms of business. In her interlude she avoids him because she also sees him as a business rival who would take her share if they teamed up, and in Abigail’s interlude they discuss business together too, and seem to get along okay but when it comes to business stuff that’s when things get a bit more tense/serious. So their relationship I feel would be one where they’d get along pretty well with everything except for business matters. 

(FGO is bad and has David like.... kinda fixated on her beauty and stuff and is also a shithead and is like ‘oh she’s like a microcentimeter taller than me so she’s not THAT pretty’ which is honestly just a dumbass and sexist detail to give to a character and honestly that’s the sort of writing I prefer to write off because it’s just kinda creepy and doesn’t add much to either character or the dynamic xP)

I feel like he would enjoy teasing her a bit, since she seems nervous to talk to him, and might as her stuff about Solomon here and there, but in a way that disguises how much he actually wants to know about their relationship and how his son’s life was after David passed away. I feel like that would be a subject she wouldn’t talk about all that much with him though, at least at first. Idk how in character this is but I like the idea of him teasing her and saying she can call him father if she wants, and her just being taken aback and wondering if this is some sort of mind game so that he can get the upperhand in some business venture, and David just finds it very amusing and endearing. But yeah he loves his daughter in law and thinks she’s a smart, beautiful young woman, and he’d prefer to avoid being her rival but knows it’s inevitable, and won’t go easy on her when they wind up going head to head.

And Goetia!! He doesn’t seem to have much of an opinion on him in FGO...? Because they don’t care about David or take him seriously as a character 75% of the time orz But I guess I could see him genuinely not having much of an opinion on Goetia, just seeing him as one of Solomon’s weird things that he did, but writing it off as Solomon knowing what he’s doing and it’ll probably work out in the end. If Goetia were to ever join the good guys, I feel like David would be a bit skeptical at first and sort of keep an eye on him in his own way, and give him something of a hard time. 

But I am really a sucker for the idea of David accepting Goetia as his weird demon son and Goetia just being confused and annoyed by it, and part of David’s motivation for treating him as such is because he knows it annoys and confuses him, so it’s sort of both genuinely wanting to extend an offering of acceptance toward Goetia, and a way of giving him a hard time for everything he did. 

I am getting sleepy but yeah I love David even if I don’t love how they choose to write his womanizing habits sometimes, and i love his children and sort-of-children-in-law so it’s Good it’s Fun thank you for this ask

Kuroko is so careful with his presents. He examines the box from all angles to figure out how to untie the ribbon and then caaaarefully peels back the tape so the wrapping paper doesn’t tear. Everybody is like, “C’mon, just rip into it, it’s half the fun!” but he refuses because someone took the time to wrap and gift him this, and that must be honored properly.

Kagami has been scarred by way too many joke presents from Himuro, so each box is subjected to a very cautious shakedown first. Does it rattle? Does it smell odd? Was that a noise???

Himuro swears up and down that he picked a right and proper gift this year but Kagami doesn’t believe him. He just moves to the next box, shakes it cautiously, waits to see if it’ll explode or start singing loudly or something–

“This one is actually from me, Kagami-kun,” says Kuroko, and that makes Kagami extremely conflicted because, on the one hand, it’s Kuroko. On the other hand... it’s Kuroko. He’s not entirely sure he believes him, either.

((It’s okay, Kuroko lovingly hand-picked some KitchenAid add-ons that Kagami has been eyeing forever but had a hard time justifying the purchase of... then Kagami realizes the fucking box is covered in doggie-print.

He can’t even get mad about it. Kuroko just looks so quietly delighted at having managed this bit of mischief, with his eyes doing that goddamn heart-palpitation-inducing silent-laughter look and... Kagami is so screwed. He’s so, so screwed.))

Kise cannot live around a wrapped gift for even five seconds before he just has to know what is in there, c’mon, just a peek, I’m DYING here, I’ll pretend to be surprised later, honest–– so when he has finally suffered this state of unsatisfied curiosity for the socially appropriate amount of time, he turns into a gleeful human shredding machine.

Well, for people he knows and loves and who are known to give gifts like actual human beings for other actual human beings to actually enjoy.

This notably excepts Akashi, who cannot, for the life of him, pick out even vaguely appropriate gifts for anyone (honestly he just picks gifts that are both way too expensive AND the kind of stuff you’d gift a distant business associate you wanted to impress and/or intimidate – there was that time when he sent everyone he knew a very elaborately carved letter opener and it’s a wonder he still has friends because everyone was appropriately disturbed for a rather extended period of time.)

It also notably excepts Aomine, because Aomine is a plainly horrible gift giver in ways that are rather different from Akashi but still somehow always fail to hit the mark. He’s just not very good at separating what he likes from what other people might like (this is why poor, traumatized Momoi ended up with a live frog on her birthday table).

Usually he sticks to handing friends candy bars or something, though even THAT is a 50/50 thing at best since he sometimes shoves them in pockets or lets them sit out in the sun and then goes and wraps them up anyway, and that is the only time you’ll ever find Kise sharing thought space with Murasakibara. Just. Identical expressions of horror.

And then there’s a third person whose presents are excepted from Kise’s enthusiastic opening methods, but that’s for entirely DIFFERENT reasons because first Kise has to go lock himself in his room, faceplant onto his bed and scream into the pillow because ohmygodsenpainoticedmehelpmyheartican’t–!!!

(Incidentally, most of Kasamatsu’s gifts are aggressively utilitarian affairs that rather poorly disguise the fact that he is a gigantic mother-hen to everyone. Seriously, Moriyama once caught an ear infection right before his birthday, so his present ended up being a headband because this is what happens when you go running in shit weather without proper gear, you colossal dumbass.)

Momoi totally rips up the paper wrapping on her presents, but before that she carefully unties and sets aside the ribbon. All the ribbons get stored in a cute shoe box.

Aomine makes fun of the box but is secretly very jealous because like half of the ribbons in there are from presents given by Kuroko and Kise. He has not yet made the mental leap that maybe there'd be more of HIS ribbons in there if he ever bothered, y'know, properly wrapping things. Or remembering birthdays before the fact. Or even just picking non-terrible presents. (Seriously, his attempts at wrapping make the thing he wrapped look like a wads of socks or tissue paper; he can't wrap for shit).

Murasakibara is very annoyed by all the paper and boxes, because that stuff gets in the way of the thing that he wants to actually get at.

(After complaining about it once, Kurochin the big mean meaniepants went and gave him a box inside of a box– and inside that box was ANOTHER box and that was just the WORST.

He threatened to crush it out of frustration and Kurochin was just like, “You won’t do that, Murasakibara-kun” all serene-like, and ugh, it’s true, he wouldn’t. Because really, Kurochin is a very good gift giver, and it was worth it this time too, but Mukkun made sure to eat the limited edition maiubo selection inside the evil box-ception very, very spitefully.)

Anyway. Akashi does not get anything wrapped, because giving him something wrapped would mean he’d have to break out the scissors and nobody wants that. Nobody.

(Tbh the whole friend-people-give-presents thing initially threw him for a loop, because after age five he was taught that gifts are never truly gifts. So the concept of present presents took some time getting used to.)

Mayuzumi rarely ever gets gifts because he’s a cynical asshole with no friends, and he also acts like he doesn’t care about presents at all unless they’re like... waifu merch or something.

(If you look reaaaaally closely, you can see a muscle in his face twitching whenever he gets something he really likes, but liking the gift conflicts with being a cynical asshole and Containment Field of “Meh” Failure Imminent.)

As a general rule, he doesn’t give gifts, either.

Though there was that one time when Rakuzan were semi-seriously throwing around the idea of getting Akashi something because uh, well. those letter openers were kinda nice? maybe???? 

So Mayu ended up giving Akashi a box.

If you’re wondering why Mayu gave Akashi a box, well. There was nothing inside the box.

It was the first time anyone ever got to see Akashi wear the “utter comprehension failure ERROR 30 GOTO 10” face, which is just as delightful as it sounds. What is decidedly less delightful (for Mayu, anyway)?

Akashi kept the box. One day he will divine its meaning.

game wise, i don’t actually think i ship him with that many people? not intensely, at least-- there’s a lot of stuff where i’m like “oh, that could be cute!”. strong ships, though? there...aren’t really that many. all of the ships, corryin duo aside, i’m just sort of...intrigued by, but not passionate about. 

there’s definitely the corryin duo, for sure-- they opened so many doors for silas in terms of socializing. he’s who he is-- a sweet, warm, kinda sad, dog shaped doormat-- because he learned how to love and cherish people by knowing them! and he has such a sweet, sincere sense of loyalty towards them-- he genuinely just wants them to be happy-- wants everyone to be happy-- and is more than willing to do all he can to help them achieve that, even if it means disappearing from their sight. they were his first taste of love (platonically, of course), and it meant the world to him. and he would give them the world in return, if ever he could. he just loves them, pure and simple. 

i also sort of like his supports with jakob-- they’re such opposites, it’s cute. jakob calls him out on his well intended meddling tendencies almost immediately, and-- haha, he sounds so annoyed and troubled by how much silas wants to help others. and then silas turns it around on him and tells him that he’s a good person, too. i really like how he sees the best in everyone, and believes so wholeheartedly... the exchange at the end of their A support is cute, too, imo. silas believes in you, jakob! 

kaze, too! they’re both such sweet guys, it’s kind of ridiculous. they keep wanting to repay a favor the other insists doesn’t need to be repaid, and when they’re on the receiving end of each other’s kindness/gratitude, they just don’t know what to do with themselves! theirs would be a really warm, supportive relationship, i think. both of them would finally be getting that affection and kindness that they’re always giving to others, and i think it’d make them just a bit more aware of how ridiculously nice they are sometimes, ahaha

i also like the idea of takumi and silas, ahaha. it tickles me a bit-- takumi is so huffy sometimes-- i really don’t know how to put it into words, but you guys know-- and yet at the same time, i think he really just... wants to know someone loves and needs him. he’s so sure of how unwanted he is, and he can be so abrasive sometimes... and yet silas wouldn’t really care about that. he knows how to see the good in people. he’d know takumi isn’t bad. he’d be able to forgive the abrasiveness (and probably melt away takumi’s desire to be abrasive, ahah), and he’d just... love him. he’d support him and try to show him that he is loved and he is wanted and he’s takumi, and that’s so wonderful. 

also i really really liked his support with rinkah... i don’t know how i feel about them as a romantic ship, but god damn do i love that support. he’s trying to help even when he’s trying to be a mischievous lil punk. his heart’s so full of love. he knows what it’s like to be alone, doesn’t want rinkah to be alone, and figures out a way to bring everyone together even when rinkah’s stubbornly opposing it, ahaha. 

speaking of a heart full of love, seeing inigo-mun talk about inigo’s capacity for love (waves at iniza from a distance, your inigo is so good and i love inigo and i’m crying), i’ve realized... i don’t know if i ship silas and inigo, but i think they could get along really, really well, you know? they both love people so, so much, but i get the feeling that maybe they don’t receive as much as they give... which isn’t bad, per se, but i think it’d do them both good to have that sort of... warm, supportive, safe haven of a relationship. 

there’s also hinoka, like you all didn’t know it was coming haha orz, but that sort of walks the line between game and ferp for me. i like hinoka and silas in game, and then here comes ferp and it just tops it off. the idea of silas with one of the hoshidan royalty just as a concept intrigues me-- he’s a knight (kind of) for the country that’s always been their enemy, and yet he knows what it’s like to lose corrin, too. not in the same way-- he wouldn’t compare their grief to his dumbass childhood actions-- but he’s lost corrin, too. what’s more, hinoka became a pegasus knight to find corrin again, and silas became a cavalier/knight to do the same. they just feel...comfortable, together. they fill each other’s emptinesses and erase each other’s sadnesses. when one feels worthless, the other supports them and shows them all the ways they’re wonderful, all the ways they matter. and they can joke. silas... doesn’t particularly have a wealth of friends, and having that light hearted, supportive relationship means the world to him. ...well, that’s my interpretation of it, anyways-- i can’t speak for hinoka’s views. 

aside from hinoka, though, i don’t think that silas has had that many positive threads with people.... a good number of muses i’ve had any sort of IC interaction with have viewed silas in a negative light, though logically, i can’t really blame them, ahaha. really, i think he’s only friends (or...even in a non-negative thread at all) with hinoka right now, though he has a burgeoning friendship with setsuna, regardless of what weird names she calls him
