i really like my seminar class tbh like i didnt think a class where i had to do readings every week and then discuss them as a class was gonna be enjoyable but im a fool if i thought discussing anything even vaguely literary was not gonna be my favorite thing in the world

#the readings every week are annoying especially bc sometimes i just dont have time/dont feel like doing it #but the readings are interesting and relatively small bites and its nice to discuss other peoples thought processess #and also criticize how it was written bc not a day goes by where im not being a hater abt something #and its just really interesting to discuss things like this like its making me actually interested in art history #or at least past art movements which is kind of the same thing but not really #idk what my past art history classes were doing but i wish it was more like this #maybe bc it was more like actual history (and architecture genuienly my least fave thing) instead of more art focused?#you cant separate history from art but like. theres only so many times you can go through the roman fucking empire man #that 19tg century photography class i took was genuienly the most interesting art history class i took and it was such a shame that it was o #on zoom if only bc it presents a barrier for genuine discussion #but otherwise i learned so much lmao #but going thru artists artist statements and interviews is really interesting in getting that actual real time perspective of art and the #movements that came from the time periods #its just a shame i dont know the art movements very well off the top of my head otherwise itd be a more worthwhile class #i mean its already worthwhile but its a little hard to understand when we start discussing movements as a whole but it doesnt deteact too mu #much #anyways #was talking to my brother abt the art critic thing and his response was basically yeah you WOULD do well with a job that requires you to cri #criticize #he knows me so well lmao <3 #michi tag

Din = Power = Ganondorf

Naryu = Wisdom = Zelda

Farore = Courage = Link.

Because Din, in the hylian creation myth, created the physical world. Naryu then created the laws - gravity, time, etc. And Farore finally created life - plants and people.

Din created the body, naryu the mind, Farore the soul.

And the triforce and its wielders so perfectly reflect that.

Ganon is physical power, he is big and intimidating and he breaks things. He is cunning and determined, but that's not what he focuses on. He is might makes right.

Zelda is wisdom and cleverness. She is stall tactics and information and team work. She is a powerful mage with a spine of steel, but that's not how she'll win. She is the pen being mightier than the sword.

Link is courage and persistence. He is the wild card sneaking behind enemy ranks, always moving, plunging into terrifying situations head first. He's a phenomenal fighter with a keen wit, but that's not what will get him through his challenges. He is bravery not being the absence of fear but the triumph over it.

They sit in perfect parallels to each other.

And ganon is reborn through his body - his resurrection is immortality. No matter how low he is cast, as long as he has a body he can claw his way back. He can cling to his power, build it ever higher.

Zelda is reborn through the magic of her bloodline. It's the accumulated knowledge handed down for generations, the unique power she must master, the skills she must develop to survive and get her kingdom out the other side intact. Even her name, the knowledge of herself, is handed down from all the way from the very first. Her ancestors knowledge of her future presence, her stability, is what gives her the edge.

Link is reborn in spirit. He is not bound by flesh or blood. Just like his wanderlust soul he can reappear in any time or place. His variation, his unpredictability, is exactly how he fights. It's what makes him so hard to pin down.

Ganons need to build strength means he can't chase after link. Links impulsiveness means zelda can outwit him. Zeldas stationary predictability means she's an easy target for ganon.

But the other direction?

Fire melts ice, ice redirects lightning, lightning burns fire.

And that's the very essence of the triforce.

#It's little details spread across the games like this that just makes it work so WELL it's SO COOL #They're all great at all parts of the triforce but they CHOOSE to focus on the path most meaningful to them #And that's literally reflected in their unique cycles of reincarnation isn't that just AMAZING #And that's why the team up is so important! If they were all working against each other they'd be locked spinning their wheels #If zelda and ganon teamed up link would immediately die and if link and ganon teamed up zelda would instantly perish #It's the link zelda team up that means ganon is the one who kicks it #Also the elemental thing was cool but they do jump around a bit. Like wind is there half the time #In botk the gerudo have lightning and the goron have fire. Farosh still has lightning tho and dinraal fire #In ss lanaryu was the lightning and faron had water like its all over the place thematically. And that's when it's only 3!#Don't even get me started on the 5/7 lots notankyu #But that's the most common group and it's also thematically accurate #Fire being the only one able to self perpetuate with fuel. Can be banked up again. Ice compresses with time but needs the right environment #Lightning go boom 👍 you can feel the static in the air but you don't know when/where it'll strike and then it's all over #Like fr it's hilarious zelda and ganon are playing the long game and link runs past eats all the pieces and while ganons yelling after him #Zelda checkmates his king. I know well it won't ever happen, but it'd be great if on FIRST (official) Hazbin (as a show, not a pilot) pride, Al's finally confirmed to be AROACE.

The rejection of Al's orientation in this fandom is crazy and I'm not speaking of fanon, but CANON.

I'm SO tired of people saying "but he was just confirmed to be asexual!", "but the moment with rosie!", "what amir said was incorrect and he apologized for it!", "what faustisse said isn't canon anymore!" COZ-

Viv literally heavily implied on one of the streams Al's aroace, saying:

Oh no, I'm going to destroy the ship. I can't say. I don't want to ruin the fun for everybody. That's why I've been very quiet on whether or not Al is aromantic.

If I give a real canon answer [..] I don't wanna ruin anyone's fun

She knows the CANON answer to that question but doesn't say it aloud coz the canon somehow ruins fanon fun.

I really don't get why viv was then so eager to give everyone right to do whatever the hell they want but never confirm Al as aroace in the same. damn. fear. to ruin shipper's fun. Like? Bro if you gave the opportunity to do everything why hide what will change nothing? People will still ship, people will still play with his orientation (which is valid as long as you're respectful), but you know what it will give instead? Damn REPRESENTATION, damn CONFIRMATION, the damn thing your show is supposed to give.

Not to be rude, but then Husk being pan is non-canon as well (that's faustisse who said he is). And then media literacy is dead once again coz it's obvious Rosie was talking about dating Charlie not bout Al f=cking her. I might sound like overreacting but it's viv herself who is the reason of the war.

Screw fanon, canon should be stated by you, as a creator, giving the canon answers, coz you provide the show, you provide the characters, you provide the plot and lore and you are the one who created the characters the way they are. You can't really affect what people do with them, how they interpret them and how they create stories of them, but you are responsible for giving clearly defined information especially if it plays part in representation of the repressed group of real people.

Coz having actual confirmed aromantic IS a big achievement for us. Forcing him into the closet and taking away the bits of rep we could have is, honestly, a highly unwise choice. Saying fanon is a wide playground on which canon can have minimum influence but never giving specific canon statements is just utterly hypocrite. Aaand hiding the fact that someone is meant to not have any relationships for the sake of fanon (which is somehow much more important than real-life issues of literal erasure of aromantics) is pretty aphobic ngl.

❗️ The production company Studio WabiSabi announced that their actors Boun N., Prem W., Santa P., Sammy C., Yacht P. and Stamp P. have terminated their contracts and will no longer be artists under the company on April 15th. Shortly after, GMMTV announced the 6 of them as newly signed artists, along with the disclosure that BounPrem's upcoming BL Vampire Project is now being produced under GMMTV, who now also own all broadcasting rights; WabiSabi will function as a co-producer. New S. stated on Twitter that the decisions had been long in the making, as well as the fact that WabiSabi no longer functions as a management agency for actors and is now a mere production company. #my art #boruto naruto next generations #sarada uchiha #shikadai nara #inojin yamanaka #in no particular order except sarada is my fav- i think she shouldve been main focus- girl brings all of og team 7 together at all times #just her family history alone is very interesting and i WISH we had seen a convo with sausage boi about her uncle and just everything #but shes a pretty solid character on her own- VERY good mix of both parents yet still being her own self #shikadai is funny i really like seeing him- hes a sight for sore eyes- bro got EVERYTHING from his dad minus his eyes and maybe hair #his dynamic with boruto being besties is really fun to watch- sarada too- with both shika and sara being geniuses and all #i love inojin's simplicity and how ordinary he is.... its... realistic?#hes artistically talented yes with his ninja art stuff but everything else hes kinda... mundane? at times even bad?#Considering every other prev gen child's got all these cool stuff goin on- i like that hes just... kinda normal... i like that about him #boruto i actually do like as well- he'd make a GREAT support character- i love how big bro he is and how he wants to stand up for others #hes a lot like naruto in that way- and might be a hot topic to say this but i also like how - in his very first arc- boruto hates the hokag #not his dad but internalized that the job took his dad away from him- regardless on criticism i think that concept is really neat #i am not well versed in what the story is now for boruto- ive just kinda picked my snacks on what i wanna watch lmao #but i do wish there was more showings of slice of life for all the kids- cuz they are all really interesting- especially for prev gen's kid #>>wished they did timetravel arc with sarada so we coulda seen young sasuke & sakura interact with boruto and sarada T_T #one last note: borusara is very interesting- but i actually prefer them just being friends- at most friends with crushes on eachother #i do think its cute but i like the dynamic of it being unrequited idk its new for me i just prefer them as friends with crushes lmao #prob cuz they work as characters independently Im not really interested in ANY of the new gen hookin up- borusara is the most interesting #i mean it IS the ONLY one being pushed canonically but i like it- that boruto looks out for sarada and sarada worries for boruto #but ya i wish boruto was like mitsuki in being a side character - i think a LOT more people will find him less annoying that way #though- i REALLY want more sarada and sasuke dynamics being shown- actually the uchiha fam a TON more than what we got #they are just SUPER interesting to me lmao #im a sucker for the emo boy turns soft and has family and bonds with their kids- its one of my favourite things in media #i feel like scraping the ocean floor when im trying to find quality sasuke and sarada art pieces and story stuff #cuz ive exhausted all the content in these past what 2-3 years of knowing both boruto- and now more recently - naruto #(yes im one of those people who knew boruto before naruto- smite me)
