angsty fun little hc that Morro saw the Preeminent dragging him into the water (in the Sword of Sanctuary)
he knew what was gonna happen. he'd already accepted it. so when Wu tried to help him, he'd already made his decision to give him the Realm Crystal
sure, he knew it wouldn't excuse the events of that week, but it was his way of apologizing when he knew he was too far gone

they've been potentially changing a lot with the shadow manga, but since maria's final words to shadow were how she loves him and amy's conversation with shadow in the joypolis collab was about how he is loved, i like to think sonic team is still hinting at amy's ability to touch his heart lol

my friend showed me some ivantill art earlier that really made it click for me that like. dude. round 6 was the good ending, as tragic as it was. or at least it was supposed to lead up to the good ending. whatever it might've awakened in him afterwards, TILL NOT RECIPROCATING in that moment was super important. and ivan's final decision was as much about till as it was about himself; it was both the only way to ensure that till kept moving AND a violent, blatantly honest act of self-expression for ivan, one that he's been waiting desperately to let out. this was supposed to be a consequence-free dramatic finale for both of them because ivan was SOOO SURE that this wouldn't affect till the same way he always knew sua's death would affect mizi.
because can you IMAGINE? if till HADN'T tried pushing him away??? can you imagine if this immediately gave him sparks and made him return ivan's feelings?????? it would've been horror!!!!!!!! it would've made everything ivan has done up until this point meaningless! all the times he had to physically and emotionally restrain himself for till's sake! how the hell would ivan react in that situation? it would already be too late!! because they would still be facing each other in the competition and one of them would still have to watch the other die!!!!! and that would probably have made things EVEN WORSE in the final round, regardless of who survived!!!!!!!!!!!
CONCLUSION: ivan was always right about everything ever EXCEPT for the fact that till very much cared about him, a misunderstanding that falls on both of them for lack of communication in the end. but also luka is a little bitch. godspeed. i feel ill

4 Minutes really is Korn and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Life.
His dad clearly doesn't care about him besides him being his firstborn and thus heir, possibly because he didn't care about his mom. Great's mom doesn't give a single shit about him. Great was willing to throw him aside like it was nothing, despite Korn seemingly always being there for him AND being willing to take on everything terrible about their family so his baby brother doesn't have to. He's lost Tonkla due to his own inactions, actions, and just the circumstances of his life*. Fasai seems to be the only one on his side, but they so clearly don't see eye to eye on the realities of their lives. His own henchman went above him to report to his dad, so he really doesn't even have any power at his job either.
I'm pretty sure he's about to do some real clown shit to try to get his dad's approval. Especially with Great and his mom being shot since that only happened because Nan was able to go live and that is sorta kinda definitely his fault. If his dad already didn't like him and thought he was a disappointment, he's certainly not going to be happy that his failure with Nan got his wife and son possibly killed.
I just don't see this show ending well for Korn the most out of everyone. I feel like death will actually be the best ending Korn can have at this point, it's just gonna suck hardcore for him before it happens.
*and lowkey I'm not sure he even knows Tonkla at this point anymore. Like even if he was able to fix what's broken with their relationship, there's no chance it would be the same anymore. Tonkla's not the same college student that was trying to do better than his alcoholic dad for his brother. He's out here smoking meth, killing people, and his brother is dead. Tonkla can no longer be his getaway from everything because Tonkla is living foully himself. And I stay scared about what his reaction is going to be when he finds out Tonkla not only is fucking Win, who's a cop at that, but moved him in to the house Korn bought. Especially since everything in his life is imploding and he has control of nothing.

"You let it happen." "Yes."
Isn't that the sum of Armand's entire life?
How can someone, that was taught from a little child to centuries into his vampire life that fighting back has consequences... to just actually prevent something from happening, even when he physically could fight back (from the coven's mutiny to just Louis throwing him against the wall)? To take agency of his own life? The only way he can control anything is to lie. And even those lies aren't making his life good, just better than the worst. The lies trap and affect him the same way they trap the other person. Even his own means of survival/protection hurt him.

kiburi x ushari but specifically doomed kiburi x ushari. more than anyone else in the army they believe with full sincerity that scar's plan HAS to work because they can't succeed without him
#they don't even have to be romantic i just think. about them a lot#bc i'm writing my sections abt them in the BFTP essay#i can't express how tragic it is to me how much they had to believe scar would give them what they wanted#kiburi is absolutely an asshole in canon and doesn't have redeeming qualities yes. but consider this#scar knew that he wouldn't give ushari and kiburi what they wanted because ofc he wouldn't. but they didn't know that#i swear to god it's not just ushari who had so much devotion to scar. sure scar scared or pissed off kiburi but#have you noticed how much kiburi brings up scar in like every battle#he puts so much into the belief that scar is the answer. as does ushari#they would turn their backs on EVERYONE if they thought scar could win#which they did#with kiburi helping to double cross janja and ushari not giving a fuck when the skinks sacrified themselves just for the plan#scar's plan was everything to them#and what happened because of it? ushari died#kiburi couldn't give less of a fuck after scar was gone but i have multiple problems with the rushed-ness of the outlanders after that#like kiburi would NOT immediately allow ANOTHER animal to boss him around y'know#sure he said that jasiri wouldn't boss his float around anyway because they'd take care of themselves but#it's just. not my interpretation of his character#kiburi x ushari is canon divergent anyway obviously lmao but. i just think there's angst in them#like im sorry but kiburi would not give up fighting makuu that easy HFHJDJ#he may not have beef with the pridelands specifically because scar isn't making him attack them since he's gone but#he hasn't got what he wants. why would he stop#completely and utterly an au idea but. kiburi wanting to take over the pridelands because their actions led to ushari's death#reptiles deserve better or something like that#oh god i've rambled so much#this is just to get my thoughts out it's not coherent at all but yeah.#there's my doomed yaoi for you /silly#rambling in tags#spinny rambles#kiburi x ushari#< i kinda love them :[

I always see these posts about Maedhros and Elwing, like yes both leap to their deaths clutching a Silmaril and I adore the foil allegories, but what of Maglor??
My tiktok feed has been playing that one fan Odysseus song, the "get in the water, or ill raise the tides so high all of Ithaca will die" song, and I cant help but just picture Maglor, at the ends of his rope, covered in Ambarussa's blood, the youngest son of Feanor again after spending an untold amount of time being the second oldest, just going still and deadly at Elwing
Hes no Luthien, no half Maia that can pluck at the threads of reality like one can a harp, but he is the best Singer of the Noldor, and depending on who you ask, of all of the First Born. One of the only Sons of Feanor with an affinity for water while the rest burn, but that doesn't mean he can't become a rolling boil.
Once the final breath of Ambarussa escapes their lungs, oh the Scream Maglor will have let go. Just as a drowning person will grasp at anything to keep them afloat, even to the point where they may drown their rescuer just to keep their head above the waves, Maglor’s scream PULLS
All the water surrounding this costal city would Lurch, would rush and flood and crash upon the city walls. The streets, already run red with blood, would become knee deep blood pools. These red rivers would part before him and his echoing dirge, his siren wailing, the bloody waves would lap at his feet with every step he would take up Elwing's tower.
He would corner her, eyes blazing with the same light that she clutches desperately to her chest, to her heart, and Maglor wouldn't care about the Jewel, he's already lost so much to it that if he held it himself he would just toss it into the waves anyways, let it sink to the black depths where it belongs.
No, Maglor would pin her on the balcony, block her exits so all she can see is the blood stained water seeping around his feet, inching towards her, and the furious roar and crash of the raging ocean behind. He would hum, a disarming little song, and the waves seem to surge upwards, reaching towards the tower balcony on beat. The spray of the waves would splatter across her back, would mist Maglor’s face, the salt of the ocean mixing with the salt of his tear stained face. He would look at her, dripping in water and blood, both of his brothers and his enemies, and he would sing one little line, a command more like.

holy fuck, this gives the zenin so much more lore than what we got in the manga. like the potential is right there to have this great inter-clan generational dispute and cold war but gege just breezes past it and then gets rid of it completely.
with all this cool new shut we’re getting about them, im almost glad that megumi was born a boy. like could you imagine just how much worse the zenin would have been to him if he was a girl? they already have the whole misogyny thing going for them and then their version of jesus pops up and it turns out that it’s a girl who wields their prized technique?
god, i can’t imagine just how much more controlling they would be towards megs, although im still not sure if the whole training until ur bones fall off would still happen. i feel like naoya would be different towards megs but we also know that the zenin are totally okay with incest so i hate where that would go.
It would have been bad.
See, I think the entire training until your bones fall off thing would still happen, but there would be an added layer of cruelty towards it. Because megumi was a little boy who was being trained in a way that even adults couldn’t have handled, so of course he spent a lot of time getting hit and a lot of time crumpling under the pressure and exhaustion. There are very, very few instances where he remembers actually leaving the training room on his own two feet. He usually was pushed until he collapsed and woke up later in the room they kept for him. But if he was a little girl in the same circumstances? They’d make every “failing” about her sex. They’d blame her being a girl for it and constantly use it as a source of sneering superiority.
It would also be bad because she would very much be seen as a source of descendants. Boy Megumi wouldn’t necessarily be exempt from that, but it would happen sooner for girl Megumi.
Bloodline is very important to the Zenin. Inheriting power, techniques—they want to continue the flow of power through the generations. And most of the Zenin clan (and the wider jujutsu world) believe that Megumi is the most powerful Zenin alive right now, if not Gojo’s equal, and the only reason why hes being graded as a Grade Two sorcerer is because gojo’s purposefully sabotaging his development. Like. Mindset is a huge amount of jujutsu ability. Yuuta went from getting beaten up by normal high schoolers to having some combat ability but needing inumaki to handle a semi grade one to being the second most powerful person alive in the span of a few months. He absolutely blitzed the previous second most powerful person alive when he would have lost that same fight a few hours previous. There’s a lot of people convinced Megumi’s on Gojo’s level but he’s been keeping him on a leash since childhood. But the powers still there in his blood.
That’s power the Zenin want to pass on, regardless of gender. But as a boy, Megumi’s got a little bit more leeway—men are accepted as warriors first in the clan, and age won’t affect his ability to procreate. If megumi was a girl? She’s got that goddamn biological clock ticking down. As the ten shadows, I think the Zenin would still expect her as a warrior, but they’d also have a fucking quota she needs to fill before the clock hits zero. And they’d have some very proprietary concerns about making sure no one outside of the clan has a chance to become involved with her. They’d want her to stay within the clan with her partners. And they’d be absolutely creepy and weird about how they went about it. It’s a little bit of a mercy that Megumi’s a boy.
#sea glass gardens#the Zenin already see boy megumi as their property#girl megumi? she’d be doomed#they already see women as property#they’d take a fucking hit out on yuuji I can tell you that#I’m a shameless itafushi shipper and while I don’t really write genderbend I don’t see a reason to change shipping them if I did#yuuji has this angry scary pretty girl who for some reason is down to hold his hand and then her fucking cousins hire a sniper#editing tags because I have more to say it’s one of my flaws#there’s so much of Megumi’s situation as a kid that was just horrible and miserable and full of pain#there were so many times he woke up in that stupid room too beaten up and bruised and exhausted to move#he was too tired to summon his dogs for comfort#and the Zenin hated when he treated his shikigami as pets anyway#I like to think megumi was actually scared of the dark when he was a kid#he was a child who saw monsters and didn’t have an explanation for them#they terrified him#his sister had a monster in the hall closet that wanted to eat her and he tried to be brave but he shook every time it came out#and it only came out at night#he was six. he was afraid of the dark.#he never told the Zenin but he could tell they somehow knew#his room was always kept so dark and there was never a nightlight permitted#he’d just wake up in the pitch and never know if anything was in there with him#he was hurt. he couldn’t move. and he was afraid of the dark#and sometimes megumi feels like he’s still that fucking six year old who got lugged from the training room unconscious and dumped in#the dark alone

I think I should focus more on the link between Rafal and Japeth in TCY because I was typing out a joke post that went something along the lines of "TCY is so funny because the whole division between the two Pens comes down to "omnipotent omniscient harbinger of fate" vs "some snake guy" under the assumption that the scim that was Lionsmane was just one of Japeth's, but I realised I didn't have a source for that so checked flesh and blood again and what do you know Lionsmane is apparently "made out of my father (Rafal's) spirit.". I was aware of the reference to 'Rafal's spirit' mostly because it's a concept never mentioned by name again in the series but somehow never noticed that Lionsmane WAS just. Rafal. which has horrible consequences for the Japeth Lore
Basically. It seems very important to me that the "Storian VS Lionsmane" duo can be boiled down to "Fate VS Japeth", given that a lot of Japeth's motivation comes from his desire to be able to control fate, stating in Flesh And Blood "soon I'll be fate's master, with the power to take love back (where he's talking about Aric)." . Saying that he IS Lionsmane ties into that nicely, given that he'll write his own fate with the pen that Is Him. This also fits into the "Past is Present" prophecy, given the last line of "Until you change it", being exactly what Japeth aims to do.
However, Japeth does not 'change it', because he's not the one writing his fate, because He's Not Lionsmane. RAFAL is. The fate that Japeth thinks he's creating for himself isn't the one he wants, but is Rafal's fate instead... which is exactly what ends up happening to him, given the second fratricide incident. This also works with Past is Present, because Past IS Present, given it's the same fate. Which also works as a lovely little reminder that Japeth has absolutely no control over his fate in the slightest, reflected by a few other pieces of book 6 information: Rafal's message to him (that happens before book 4) instructs him to remain loyal to his brother, and to always put his brother first. He doesn't win a single one of Arthur's Trials. It is literally stated by Rafal in a flashback that it was LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE for japeth to end up being One True King. what I am Trying To Say is that there was absolutely no way in hell Japeth could ever have "changed it", ever. Anyway because of all of this I firmly believe that Soman should've put at least a couple of vague references to the TCY twins in the prequels given that Japeth and Rafal might have the most interesting link between them in my opinion
#I usually put underdeveloped thoughts in the tags so:#I think this same line of thinking helps explain my other Question About Aric#Aric's a weird character to analyse but the biggest two debates I have about him are “did he actually love Japeth”#(imo yes but the reason is tricky to explain)#and the other one is “Does it actually matter if his father is anyone significant?”#and the answer to that one is up in the air#on one hand it doesn't matter#if you see aric as not being plot/parallel significant himself#and more as a representative of the “Evil's Love” that both Japeth and Rafal have as alternative to their respective brotherly love#BUT it DOES matter#if you see aric as being significant because he's the Third for the TCY twins#and so there has to be a plot relevant reason why HE is the disruptance#which has to be his parentage because nothing else about him is significant enough#this sort of relates to whats in the post because of fate bs but i think it's a really interesting question and would love other opinions#anyway the other thing i usually leave in the tags on my japeth lore posts is a “(X) when I catch you” with x being a character#but honestly? nothing for this one cause it's not Rafal's fault either I don't think he knew he was dooming japeth to the same fate#and he DID try to warn him#anyway yeah this is a certified FOUR IN THE MORNING? ??! ?!? ?! WHAT I STARTED WRITING AT 2.#sge#tsfgae#school for good and evil#the school for good and evil#japethposting#sfgae#fotsge#rotsge#the school of good and evil

I love the many flavours Christianity kink can come in because everyone knows about the Catholicism flavour (priests/nuns and elaborate vestments, confessionals, the Eucharist, heavy emphasis on sin) but there's so many others depending on what version of Christianity was most relevant for one in one's formative years
like I grew up with like... a combination Pentecostal / AME / Baptist understanding of Christianity, so my foundation for religion-based kink is hellfire-and-brimstone revival preachers, small ramshackle churches built in the 1800s (that may or may not have other entities in residence waiting to possess the pious), glossolalia and ecstatic dance, crossroads devils and wandering preachers, that sort of thing. I only got into the Catholic version later on, after my kink had already been well-established -- y'all definitely have the monopoly for a reason, I get it, there's a lot to mine there
(there's also some prosperity gospel in my background, like Joel Osteen and Creflo Dollar were big hits with the older people around me so I think megachurch corruption is a Very Good space to play in)
but I will always be loyal to my wild-haired wild-eyed dark-skinned backwoods preacher man gripping the sides of the pulpit as he shouts desperately to a sweating and swaying congregation whilst the corruption welling up from deep under the warped floorboards slowly devours him

Finished Shadow Generations. Honestly, I didn't like it much and if it wasn't for the fact that it came with Sonic Generations, I would regret buying it. There wasn't enough story / character content for me to feel invested at any point—you have to go out of your way to keep talking to characters after each level or else there's basically nothing—and just like in the Dark Beginnings animations, Maria was there essentially to be Shadow's emotional support, which I dislike. I feel like it was a waste to have her there, when we didn't get to see more dimensions from her. She's the same paragon she always was, and it sucks.
I also just didn't have fun controlling Shadow. For some reason, he controls so loosely that it was difficult to steer him where he needed to go. This was especially true for the manta ray surfing; Metal Overlord killed me five billion times because of how poorly that handled. (Though that in turn made it hilarious how quickly Mephiles went down lmao.) It sucks, because I loved playing as Shadow in SA2, but 🤷‍♀️ his doom gimmicks were just not fun with how out of control they were. The amount of stupid deaths I had because his flight mode clipped through barriers in the last level is insane.
Anyway, I have a feeling that if I cared more about Shadow, I might have enjoyed this as much as others. But I'm past the point in my life where I find his edgy shtick cool, and again, I don't like how Maria was his emotional support instead of the other way around.
At least Sonic Generations is here, though. I do like Sonic Generations.
