I didn't notice it until someone pointed it out, but Darius isn't wearing his Dino tooth necklace in Chaos Theory.

Is that an aesthetic decision, or is there an in-lore reason for that?

I think this design choice was on purpose.

So... in a scrapped version of the original script.... there was this big reveal after he calmed the Pachyrhino down that he no longer liked dinosaurs the same way at ALL. It was actually the first thing I drew on the show:

But he had some crazy line like 'We both know you'd kill me in a heartbeat' or something and it was so over the top it always made everyone laugh (which wasn't the intention). It was decided this version was too melodramatic/the energy was wrong, so they redid how he was written/his acting in the first episode a few times until they found a sweet spot.

It was never meant to be explained why his necklace was missing, just implied.

#I think it could have been interesting if he had a more visible arc about being hesitant to enjoy dinosaurs the way he used to #but there's already so much going on in the final version of the show #I think it was correct to walk it back to something more subtle with mostly just the allosaurus #in the original he was so angsty I'm not sure if he would have been as fun to watch #having Darius put on an 'I'm okay really' face while visibly missing his carnivorous dino tooth necklace was a stronger choice I think #jurassic world chaos theory #jwct #jurassic world #chaos theory #darius bowman #storyboards #my art

If Ulysses has a million haters, then I'm one of them. If Ulysses has one hater, then I'm THAT ONE. If Ulysses has no haters, that means I'm dead. If the world is with Ulysses than I’m against the world.

pulps law is that whenever i get insane enough about something, i will inevitably attempt to make a persona 5 au, regardless of whether or not i am successful at it.

#pulp speaks #anyways guys youre never going to guess what au ive been thinking of lately .#i know the correct way to go about this is make sidestep the main character but you see #i will not be doing that. and actually in fact i will not be following the storyline of persona 5 in the slightest. because lol #but morgana exists in this au purely because i dont think the others would survive without him explaining what the metaverse is 💀#the rangers are a team of detective for the public sector in this au #and dr mortum is an unassuming everyday scientist that should not peak the rangers interest in any way. at all #in the video game that exists in my head the player can pick between playing julia or ricardo #it doesnt change the storyline that much but it does make the character relationships funky so #in my head chen is best friends with julia and argent is best friends with ricardo #chen and ortega stumble into the metaverse together so if you pick julia its two best friends in a life or death situation #but if you pick ricardo its your sisters best friend+kinda your boss in a life or death situation which personally i find extremely funny #regardless of which ortega you play with the other one doesnt know about the metaverse until id say like. the end of the first palace? beca #use thats when they start getting suspicious #and because this is ortega they follow them and find out about the metaverse that way #i dont think they become a phantom thief but i think they do end up covering the others asses irl #dr mortum still isnt actually a doctor but i think theyre the one providing medicine to them at the start of the game #theyre extremely wary of the rangers at the start and ortega can barely convince them to sell them things which they still charge-#-extremely high over. i think the turning point comes when they discover the metaverse because holy fuck they are So excited about it #both because of the implications and what the metaverse could be used For #chen is not thrilled about letting them know this but theyre kind of their supplier so its not like he can argue #i think mortum joins the phantom thieves eventually but as a navi #obviously its in their best interest to provide everything for free now that theyre part of the team but they still have to order supplies-#-so i think the way it works out in game is that theres certain days supplies can be ordered and you have to pay for it but the items can b #-picked up at any day of the week #but also i have no idea how that would work practically (its all in my head anyway so it doesnt actually matter but yk)#theres still more thoughts about this but im ✨running out of tags✨ and also i cannot organize my thoughts enough to explain it #im not main tagging this its going to be my silly self indulgent au for eternity ok

The long and short of it is that Number would fucking hate Delores. She represents too much about how bad things could have been for him and begs for self reflection, which he is not going to do.

She's an immediate shorthand to show how desperate and insane Five got living alone in the apocalypse, with the added level of that Number is also Five. Number is also confident and comfortable in his identity as aroace - been there, tried it, didn't like it, he's good to go. And now here's this alternate version of himself that not only went so far off the deep end that he made up a person to love, but he then made that fake person his wife.

We know the nuance of Five and Delores (at least through my headcanon - Five was 13 when he landed in the apocalypse and had very limited examples and vocabulary for what adult relationships are and mean to build his Person with), but Number absolutely is not going to sit down and listen. He's out, it's too close and too real and makes how close he was to being Five too much. Delores' introduction to us in the show was a real What The Fuck; her introduction to Number would be a true mindfuck. She's where he's drawing his line for Too Far.

#i don't think i'm overstating when i say number would be repulsed by her #which is so sad for delores #who we all know i adore #but she forces too much self-reflection and he's not gonna do that #and also requries some true empathy for five which we also know he's going to resist #in the situation where delores was also in hit #rob would have had to take him to the side and have a ''you've gotta be more chill about this for five's sake''#to which number would say ''fuck that what about my sake i could have been a crazy old man with a mannequin wife no thank you''#“everyone should be a lot less chill about it i'm the correct level of chill which is Not”#for the record and five's side of things #delores would adore number and that would make him so mad #but he made delores to love him and i don't think he could do the mental gymnastics to separate that from any version of himself #as much as he'd like to because his wife should not be so endeared by how goddamn stupid number is #(no he wasn't that stupid at that age not at all for sure she's remembering that wrong)#ask response #hit #number

I’ll probably do that over the summer #about time anyway. my characters have been placed against an off-white background for far. far too long #this is the first piece in just over a year that isn’t tagged with sotrl. which is kinda weird tbh #I’ve been drawing my OCs almost exclusively for nearly 5 years so it is genuinely surprise I’m branching out #*surprising #less branching out and more diving from one hole into another but y’know #anyway. in my personal and very correct opinion she turned out absolutely gorgeous #her servants are way too lucky and unalaq is way too much of an idiot. no offence to vaatu but he could never beat out this #and I also have Kat’s personal and very correct opinion to back up my own. two against the void. once again we’re winning #I wanna draw her a lot more bc she has completely possessed my brain. i love s4, and im enjoying listening to it with the magaday, but i forgot it would also lead to the worst thing: seeing people interpret media differently than me on the internet OTL

#NOT a big deal #but as an enjoyer of nuance and complicated characters and the tragedy of people doing their best and still failing #I can't help but want to constantly correct posts saying 'Georgie said she prefered Jon dead!' (she didn't #; Jon accused her of that and Basira asked her to leave before they could talk it out)#and 'everyone is blaming Jon for Tim and Daisy's deaths' -> only Melanie is‚ as far as we've heard;#not that everyone is being nice or fair to jon; not at all #but this framing of the situation as jon on one side and everyone else on the other is just so much more boring #than the web of relationships and mistakes and misplaced blame that is implied #and the former is how you get analyses that are objectively wrong like 'no one let Jon speak in 199!!' -> literally by word count and #time spend speaking he talks the most out of anyone in the discussion #but it's not 50/50 jon/others because every character in tma is the protagonist of their own story #like of course it wouldve been nicer if georgie had immediately protested that she didn't want jon to die #but playing that out in my mind; it feels like exactly the kind of argument that jons ex specifically would be tired of having #even if the context is different now #and to me the way it's possible to construct these unspoken reasons and stories for the side characters is the coolest shit #and that's lost if Georgie just said 'I hoped you died Jon‚' because... ? because it's s4 so everyone is just mean to Jon?#even though she's the one visiting him in hospital in the first place?#joos yaps #delete later #nah she's just a mean girl. mean women bullying jon all season #nothing more to it than that
