I know Eugene says “Your Majesty” to sound polite, but I find it really really hard to pin point his casual vs polite speech in English. 

It’s much easier to tell in Japanese because of the politeness hierarchy. But he still has that soft-roughish tone to him in Japanese and I think it mixes well. 

This actually works into Eugene’s character too. He’s such a softie, it’s slowly killing me aha- 

When he confessed to Rapunzel at the end of The Return of Strongbow he’s talking informally but with a softer formal tone. His nd, sa, ze, da endings change to yo or are dropped completely.

Throughout The Return of Strongbow:

ずーっと昔の話さ zuutto mukashi no hanashi sa

何をしてるんだろうな？ nani wo shiterun darou na

ぶっ飛ばされるぞ buttobasareru zo

面白い話だ omoshiroi hanashi da 

To Arianna: 

分かってます、もちろん。wakattemasu mochiron

でもできれば、コロナにいったい、demo dekireba korona ni ittai

国王陛下がここが通報は許してくれるといいんですが kokuou heika ga koko ga tsuhou ha yurushitekureru to iindesuga

End with Rapunzel:

ちょっといいかな？chotto ii kana

渡したいものがある watashitai mono ga aru

大したもんじゃないし、 taishita mon janai shi

手に痩せに言う冒険で手に入れたものでもない te ni watase ni iu bouken de te ni ireta mono demo nai
