I have no idea why this post is getting traction suddenly, but I wanna clarify that a lot of what I said here I don’t believe in anymore

I’ve seen some really REALLY fucked up shit, worse than classics. Plus there’s a difference between exploring dark topics to cope and kind of…romanticizing them?

People can still write what they want! I’m not naive enough to think that they’ll ever stop, but I’ve seen a lot of harm in the pr*ship community that seems so unnecessary :(

Although, to put things in perspective, do we know the writer’s age? If he’s a minor himself, then he could just be that edgy teen trying to do as many things viewed as wrong as possible. Kids are stupid. They’re bound to explore things they shouldn’t, but that doesn’t mean we should put them on a spike for it. The drama back then with Viv should be lesson enough for that.

Also there’s the question on if the other party is also a teen? Like, the line provided? “On the ground was a thirteen year old female girl, with a slim, but very attractive” Uh awkward grammar and redundancy aside, if this is written from the perspective of another 14 year old, it doesn’t seem that bad?

I dunno, I see so many people bash on others for being “problematic” without considering the full context of everything. I’ve got an English degree, so I’ve read some fucked up shit that’s considered classics today, so the iffy fanfic community kinda doesn’t hit me as hard? Hell, sometimes it’s nicer because it’s clear that they’re exploring it as pure fiction and not considered one of their real life ideals kensjsjdj

I mean, like I said, I didn’t view all this guy’s stuff and I very much don’t *want* to. He could very well be an awful creep, but like, I kinda…don’t know why you wanted me to look at this? Especially since I’ve stated multiple times before that underage ships make me uncomfortable. It’s not like I can do anything about him ww

I will never, ever be for censorship. I think people should write whatever the fuck they want, because you never know what may help people cope with what’s going on with their life or process their own thoughts. But at the same time, I personally would prefer not to see it and even filter out certain tags were they come up often.

• Trembling against him, you press your palms against your eyes, but listen. Calming slowly, laying inside his alt mode tangled in the blankets Alex had brought you. When you finally lower your hands, your head turns to survey his interior, eyes dull with pain. “You’re Megatron, right?” You ask, voice a raw rasp as you lay your cheek back down, likely already exhausted again. Hurting. Will confirming who he is ease your mind or just send your little heart racing again? He doubts it will be the former, knows what everyone thinks of him. That just because he’s playing nice now, doesn’t mean he’s actually changed. No matter what he does, they all still expect the monster.

• “That’s right,” comes the voice surrounding you from everywhere and nowhere as you try not to be weirded out by the fact that you’re sprawled inside him. He’d freed you from your car when he hadn’t had to. Taken pity on you even though to him, humans must be so pathetically helpless and weak. Maybe even contemptible and he’d saved you. Brought you to help? You think so as you run a trembling hand under the sheets and find bandages. Trying to explore the wound to see how bad it is under the dressing feels like touching a live wire, your brain shorting out with pain and vision going gray at the edges as you swallow convulsively. “You need to rest, little one.” There’s an edge to those words in that warm brogue. An admonishment that’s almost sweet, like he’s worried. Like the big, scary former warlord cares. You’d laugh, but it would hurt.

• “Thank you,” you murmur and he’s not sure if you mean for pulling you from the car originally or for just now. What he does know? He doesn’t deserve your thanks. Shouldn’t have engaged the Seekers so near a population center. He hadn’t spared a thought for the humans at the time, only focused on the fight. And you’d paid for it. He doesn’t know how to respond to you, how to form an apology, but you save him from that. Your breathing shifting as you sink under again, and he focuses on monitoring that little spot of warmth in need of his protection.

- You would be SHOCKED how much us redheads get the “does the carpet match the drapes” question from total strangers. Ancel is really living the authentic ginger experience. 😂

- In the times of ancient Greeks and Romans, redheaded slaves were more expensive because they were rarer. In that way, Ancel was designed perfectly to align with his character. Love that choice by Pacat! ♥️

- Ancel has a goal and I respect it, and he’s never once tried to hide it. It’s pretty clear that his love of expensive things comes from having very little at the start of life.

- It’s interesting to gain the perspective of a character detached from the thought of sex being emotionally significant. A first night was everything to Erasmus, and sex is hugely tied in with intimacy and emotional connection for Laurent. Jord and Aimeric fell in love while having sex. Whereas sex, to Ancel, is a means to an end. It’s literally his job.

- Love the implication that pets have their own hierarchy and contracts are fiercely competitive. They have their own little community.

- Ancel uses everything he has to his advantage to incredible effect. He’s pretty, witty, and talented. Whenever he walks into a room it’s like that scene from ‘How to Lose Friends and Alienate People’ where Megan Fox walks through the middle of the pool. Lol

- Now this may be the deeply ingrained European stereotypes I grew up with, but in the same way Laurent is French and Damen is Greek, Berenger is 100% German.

- You always get the sense that even though Ancel is bold and daring, he’s still tiptoeing and walking on eggshells. He completely reinvents himself for every new master he has.

- Haha Isagoras! - very on the nose and I love it

- It makes perfect sense that Ancel can’t read and cares little for long epics and poems. I’d be willing to bet though, that he has an amazing memory because of this. Uneducated does not equal unintelligent.

- Love that Ancel’s there all wide eyed like “yes! Please teach me to ride!” while internally he’s like “ew ew ew”. Don’t blame him. Horses are terrifying.

- I like that Berenger does find out Ancel is faking his interests and tells him that he doesn’t have to pretend. From there, Ancel is clearly more himself and more comfortable.

- In addition, although he’s a creature of habit, Berenger is actually really sweet 🥺🥺

- “Luxury suits you” “hell yeah it does.”

- I am so fascinated by Ancel and Erasmus existing in the same social sphere, and Ancel wondering why Erasmus doesn’t use the fact he’s beautiful for power, and dammit I’m going to have to write that fic, aren’t I? 😭

- Ancel and Berenger are mismatched but that’s what works so well about them with Berenger negotiating and Ancel naturally drawing attention to himself. They make up for one another’s differences.

- Ancel giving Berenger fashion advice, and Berenger ignoring it every time in favour of ✨another brown jacket✨

- I’m also liking the implication that Ancel enjoys being a pet and gaining attention for power because he knows what it’s like to be powerless. I personally like to think that he saw Nicaise’s situation and somewhat understood to a certain degree. I can imagine he would’ve been quite young when he started too.

- Fun fact! Ancel’s fire performance is actually reminiscent of a real dance! It’s a Polynesian art called Siva Afi and was traditionally a war dance, except instead of burning cloth on the ends of the baton, there are burning knives. Very cool! 🔥

- Ancel 🤝 Kris Jenner - all publicity is good publicity and I will make billionaires out of a scandal and watch people be jealous.

- The kiss being the first implication that Berenger actually does desire Ancel. Ooh boy, you ain’t hiding that much longer.

- The kiss is also the catalyst for Berenger ending the contract, and I can imagine that Ancel is so confused as to what he did wrong, not realising the circumstances behind the decision. 😞

- It’s absolutely wild looking back on the garden scene from a different perspective and realising that absolutely no one wanted that mess to happen.

- “You’re old.” - once again, ouch.

- Ancel being annoyed at seeing the lords go and ‘coddle’ Erasmus serves to highlight the wildly different appeals Ancel and Erasmus have as pets. Bold and daring vs. Sweet and modest. They would be unstoppable as friends. Shit, I’m really going to have to write that fic now, or read one that hopefully some talented person out there has written already 🙏

- Love that Ancel doesn’t rat Berenger out to the Regent - the Regent doesn’t even want him, and I’m sure Ancel is faintly remembering Nicaise mentioning that he’s “too old” 🤢

- And then the big reveal that Berenger was trying to protect Ancel as he supported Laurent’s bid for the throne; and Ancel realising that Berenger does, in fact, like him. Callback to “isn’t everyone looking for someone to be loyal to?” Sensational.

- I also, for my personal brain rot reasons, need Laurent and Ancel to strike up a bargain by which Ancel listens to all the pet gossip and rats out to Laurent which of the masters are disobeying the new laws of underaged pets or are undermining the new monarchy and union. All in return for a little coin of course 😉

- Ancel and Berenger: what a great little mismatched but perfectly matched pair! Really enjoyed this rendition of pretty woman! 😂

..........what ARE those spirits? Aside from being utterly adorable with their cheering as they are released like some sort of plankton into a beaker filled with mana, which is presumably what they feed on... we don’t really know much about them?

Are they.......human spirits? Something else??????

This is saying so much and nothing at all, and at the same time feels. Eerily important. 

So the dungeon is a source of contained mana. An ecosystem with magic, where spirits - humanoids and monsterkind - are kept alive by the mana? But also if there’s too much of it, or too little, they die. 

This presumes that there is no mana on the outside world. And mana must be obtained and collected in the dungeon. By what means? Does it just kinda permeate into you naturally? Does eating monsters help you get more mana??

Do people who are outside lose their mana? Is there other sources of mana? Is it inherent to everyone? 

And if not..........who is the keeper of the actual dungeon they’re traversing now? Is it all just an experiment on a larger scale????

Yeah, it’s a well-known space. I’m trying not to dox myself entirely lmao so I won’t give the name, but it’s a museum right next to The Landmark of the city. It was commissioned by this eccentric multi-billionaire to store everything he collected, and he picked this architect famous for designing wild looking buildings, so even when work sucks, at least it’s a very cool place to go every day.

You’re a social worker, that’s amazing! What got you into that? And do you work directly with the people utilizing the services? Or do you do, like, community outreach or something? I admire people who go into careers specifically to help people, I think that’s really amazing of you.

Shownu in his 30s is such a father figure type, it’s so funny. Like, he should be hot, and he is on stage, but offstage he’s just some guy. He did his little body-ody-ody dance in “Love Killa” and then bounced, love him for that. For their outfits, I like their intricate ones that also allow them to be so slutty, proving it’s always possible to be classy AND skanky. Love to see it. They have the range! I just think that more men should embrace that whole look, more crop tops please. I love how Shownu and Changkyun have such good voices but also show up in music videos like That. I didn’t love Shape of Love, but Changkyun’s voice in “Burning Up” and his modulation in “And”… I get why he couldn’t do it live, that’s a hard note to hit without any lead-up, but I wanted to hear it so bad.

kljeklsjfkl Snake Plisskin is a character from an 80s movie, which is so dated and cheesy, but Shownu with an open jumpsuit would be so good. If there’s going to be so many remakes, they should do Escape From New York with Shownu and Fight Club with Hyungwon. Most men don’t understand Fight Club, but I have faith that Hyungwon does.

Wonho is SO sweet and precious and deserves such good things. It’s so unfair that a situation he’s worked so hard to get out of hurt him professionally, the fact he wasn’t allowed to grow and change and get himself to a better place is ridiculous. I’m so glad he’s still got his kind heart and is still full of love. And also that he chose to come back to music and performance, he clearly loves it, and we love him!

I am so nosy and annoying I want to hear everything you’ll share. I’m spiritually lying on my stomach in bed, swinging my feet and trying to gossip over my novelty phone. I don’t like dating, but I do like living vicariously through people who do.

Lol well I had an interest in helping people either financially or otherwise and so my degree from university (which helped) got me into my place of work that started off as a student and then I worked my way up to an official worker position so I’m able to help more people that way 👍👍yeah we can work with the services that help clients like getting them referred to job programs and helping them get ids 🪪 so that’s wonderful ❤️

I definitely don’t disagree with you! Castiel does not have anything resembling an objective opinion about Dean whatsoever. Arguably never has. And once he swapped allegiance to Heaven for allegiance to Dean, well, any hope for rational decision making got tossed out the window. What has been interesting about Cas’ character arc for me is the way in which he interprets and acts upon that allegiance, or when he chooses to subvert it. So much of Dabb-era spn (basically as soon as Jack was introduced) has shown Cas defying that instinct of his, though, and distancing himself physically and emotionally from Dean.      

I guess here is my response    

I’m autistic and have a science degree, and while I find this stuff fascinating, I do not have the humanities education nor the innate ability to read text in anything resembling a metaphorical or referential way, so my “takes” tend to be very straightforward, or based on barely-veiled subtext (like queer- or autistic-coded character interpretations). I don’t feel like mine invalidate anyone else’s and I love reading other fans’ meta essays more than I enjoy watchin the show at this point 😂

I know enough about the conflicts between writers and the showrunner eras and the network nonsense to know that there’s a lot of layers to trying to piece together any kind of coherent narrative within spn, but I’m not familiar enough with who wrote what episode to be able to do anything useful with that info. This means that I’m stuck trying to come up with in-universe explanations for everything unless someone else tells me it’s a writer/network flub.      

All in all, season 15 seemed an exercise in insanity, but if this confession scene had shown up anywhere from season 8-11? It would have had WAY more emotional impact and wouldn’t have seemed ludicrously out of place to me. I know there’s a million dumb reasons that never would have happened but Dean’s and Cas’ storylines were begging for it. By the time seasons 14 and 15 rolled around, I was seeing Dean as a villain, so this kind of redemption via Cas’ love felt hollow and wrong. But that’s me being extremely stubborn about my issues with one particular character aspect (Dean’s relationship with Jack) and letting it ruin the rest of the show lol I don’t expect other people to agree with me.

So, is this me deflecting bc Am Uncomfortable With Expressions Of Human Emotion or is it snarky commentary on a poorly written couple of characters? genuinely couldn’t tell you but whatever the reason, I’m currently rolling in agony at the cosmic joke I played on myself! I only started watching this show bc of this scene and the nonsense that followed!
