Me: Did you know I was raised in a cult?
Southern coworker/acquaintance: Oh me too! I went to a really strict Baptist church!

also she's like literally right everyone wants to "forget" all this painful shit, I.E. push shitty uncomfortable or abusive things to the side to make pack life easier cuz i guess its easier to just bury stuff instead of address it. if they didnt want to deal with their shit and instead turn into a weird insular culty little group that ignored and denied all pain just for the """sake of the pack""" they DESERVED to have painful memories shoved in their face until they addressed them, ESPECIALLY when the person doing the pushing is one of the most hurt. all the fucking lingering disquiet and pain boiling under the surface just pushed aside to appease The Pack, i hate ittttt i hate it i hate it leah girl you are so right you are so real to me hashtag girlboss hashtag bestie. hashtag you existed for like four pages as a full character but in my heart you are everything

Don’t expect your church. . . .
to help out much against the organized rape, abuse and treason cult known as QAnon. This cult is a threat to all society and should be treated as such.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/qanon-conspiracy-theories-infect-american-140528718.html
And this isn’t specifics or hashtags--this is a measure of how Q’s general ideas have taken root among the faithful in the United States, whether they were short on rationality or not.
This is an issue because a lot of the more common non-profit organizations you’d go to, to help a family member get deprogrammed from being in a cult? They tend to be faith-based. So if church members are being contaminated by QAnon/8chan cultie bullshit, this means they’re going to be resistant to being deprogrammed by more ordinary means.
This has its insidious parallel in the ways “pastel QAnon” branches recruit women in the suburbs: they, a cult obsessed with rape and abuse, LOOK FOR abuse survivors and those who know them, to exploit them. Q-heads make it difficult to get their members out from under the cult via interventions.
You could argue that this is just Chan Logic plus cult, that aggressive use of the internet’s data-pooling abilities would lead to this, but to be candid, this isn’t just raw data at work. This is the product of a sadistic decision-making process.
Meaning whoever came up with QAnon? They decided early on to ruin as many people’s lives as deeply as possible by making it extremely hard to de-program the culties by straightforward means.
So why does this matter? In simple terms, these bastards live and die by professional conspiracy theorist logic. Everything’s got to be about THEIR conspiracy, and that only, much as a neo-nazi would swear up and down that it’s “always about the Jews” or whatnot. And part of the QAnon conspiracy is that violent revolt is inevitable.
Meaning if the only thing that works against QAnon is a society-breaking level of widespread violence and repression against them, in some ways we are then, as society, playing into their logic and giving them their argument’s a priori premise, its first principle. There have to be other ways to get these fools to quit, at least before you break their faces. If there aren’t, it’ll just turn their logic inward, they’ll consider themselves martyrs and double down.
Really, it’s one thing to have Marjorie Taylor Greene committed for being a violent threat to herself and others--as an elected member of Congress she should know it’s ON HER to know how to act and that it’s ON HER to not stalk and harass people. It’s another thing to say there’s no chance of surrender--no other option besides breaking faces and gonads.
Maybe most Q-heads can’t be reached and have to be hurt, physically broken, to get them out from under their cultie bullshit. But most isn’t all.
The whole mess is a bigger problem than what I want to solve, really. I admit I get too angry at the bastards--too willing to skip ahead to the “break faces” stage. But this is a problem that needs solving nonetheless, because you know, we LET 4channel fester into 8channel. We LET Anonymous fester into QAnon.
We likely can’t survive, as a society, whatever the hell these cultie psychos have planned for “next.”
