#FBF #FlashbackFriday The 2nd, lesser well-known #Iconic "Dovima and the Elephants" Photograph. This photo is somewhat more the "Rara Avis" than it's "Black Dress" sister photo, owing to the fact that while the negative and other prints of the more famous photo are held by the Avedon Archives and Bazaar Archives (Negative and Prints, Respectively) this photo exists as a One-Of-A-Kind for it was only printed once (so any photos of this you see are copies of the original print) and as Avedon pointed out, the negative was mysteriously lost... Vanished! So, in fact, this photo is more a work of Art than it's twin for the simple fact alone of it's singular rareness! It is no less though as Magnificently, Beautifully, Breathtakingly Stunning as it's more famous counterpart! Photographed in August 1955 at the Cirque d'Hiver in Paris, France by the #GENIUS Richard Avedon for Harper's Bazaar... It didn't achieve the same influential status as its partner photo, but as one can see, it is as every bit as Awesome!
