it takes halwyn 6 years, but he eventually bounces back. his body decomposes and the silver melts away and suddenly he's reborn on the nemeton and he doesn't remember much about the period between awakening in eichen house and his death - but he remembers the threat of the anuk-ite and that there had been another hellhound. the former is more pressing, though, and halwyn spends months searching for any sign of it, and although it troubles him that he can't figure out what happened to it, why he can't find any sign of it, he reluctantly accepts it and moves on to finding the other hound, believing that he can provide some clarity on what the hell happened to him.

About the campaign

Our first session was January 13th, 2024. We meet once a month, in three groups. Each session is ran again with each group, and through magic and suspension of belief, we make it work quite well.

We have a collection on ao3 here!

We use components of 5e and Adventures in Middle Earth (a 5e branch). Now, onto the story!

It is 2986, and 9 adventurers have recived letters froma mysterious "G", asking to meet in Bree in the Prancing Pony to investigate some rumors in the North, near the ruins of Fornost. The adventurers convence, but the mysterious G can no longer come, and asks them to please still investigate, then to meet him in Rivendell to tell him what they found.

They investigate, and report to Rivendell, to the one and only Gandalf. They tell him of what they found, a group of orcs, wargs, and some nameless thing. And he tells them that it was a test, to see if they were ready... to time travel to the first age, to help the peoples there and save who they can. As they meet new friends in Rivendell, time travel back to First Age 456 and find their footing, the party grows to 15 adventurers.

They soon meet a hero of the first age, and begin their journey into the chaos and bedlam of Beleriand.

Halwyn smirked as he took in the figure of the woman that stood in front of him, her red hair a notable trait to help her stand out in any crowd, but he didn’t need to even look at her to know the power the she wielded. His Hellhound could feel the Banshee within her from the moment that he arrived. Whether either of them liked it or not, they were going to be pulled together at some point.

So it would've been cool if they'd had his spirit bond with someone in the cast. Maybe have Liam get critically wounded by the Hunters and Halwyn merges with him to save his life, making him a wolf-hellhound hybrid?

Or alternatively, have Halwyn's spirit save Brett, bring him back from the dead, show him coping with the guilt that he gets to live but Lori doesn't, etc

Another wildcard commission. I kinda went off with this one I think I'm just such a sucker for space aesthetics. Anyways this was for @oceanlover4evr and their name is Halwyn, a drow-turned-astral elf, Celestial Warlock. Backstory shenanigans.

The Hellhound cursed to himself as he exited the school building. Time was a liquid thing—he knew, but everything that passed him by was so entirely modern. Those cars looked and behaved much differently than his own, and the dress of those around him was baffling. The state of Eichen House had been utterly miserable, and he didn’t quite like what he saw. Did Edith really let the place so far down?

It did not matter. He had to find the Anuk-Ite, and waxing poetics about the passage of time wasn’t going to help his fiery ass.

He heard the young Beta and his… something friend follow, both smelling of blood, smoke, and exhaustion.

“Wait!” The Beta called, and Halwyn did not stop. “Mr. Hellhound!”

Halwyn bit back a laugh. “Halwyn.”

“Halwyn,” The Beta corrected. “What were you talking about—what needs to be stopped?”

How young those two are, and how naïve. Their friends, too. When Halwyn began looking for allies for the fight, he did not expect children to be amongst them. He growled, slowly dropping the shift with each step.
