5 Reason Why WOW Wipes are perfect for daily office use
In a bustling office environment, cleanliness is more important than ever. From shared desks to break rooms, ensuring a hygienic workspace is essential for the health and productivity of employees. Wet tissues, like WOW Wipes, offer an easy and effective solution to maintaining a clean office space, removing germs, dirt, and grime with minimal effort. Here's why WOW Wipes should be a staple in every office.
1. Combat Germs in High-Touch Areas
One of the biggest concerns in any office is the sheer number of surfaces that multiple people touch daily. From keyboards and phones to door handles and printers, these surfaces can quickly become breeding grounds for bacteria and viruses. WOW Wipes' antibacterial properties make them perfect for disinfecting high-touch areas, helping to reduce the risk of spreading illnesses.
Since wet tissues are pre-moistened and ready to use, they are a convenient solution for busy office workers who may not have time for deep cleaning during their workday. A quick swipe with WOW Wipes' antibacterial wet tissue ensures surfaces are clean and hygienic without the hassle of sprays and paper towels.
2. Convenience for Employees on the Go
The modern office is fast-paced, and employees often juggle multiple tasks at once. With so much happening, keeping personal spaces clean can often fall by the wayside. This is where WOW Wipes wet tissues shine. Their convenient dispensers make it easy for employees to grab a wipe whenever needed, whether it's for wiping down their desk or refreshing their hands after lunch.
Wet tissues offer an all-in-one solution, eliminating the need for multiple cleaning products. Employees can clean up spills, sanitize surfaces, and keep their workspace organized without missing a beat. Having WOW Wipes readily available encourages better hygiene habits among staff.
3. Safe for Use on Electronics
In an office, electronic devices such as computers, tablets, and smartphones are used throughout the day. These devices are hotspots for dust and fingerprints, and standard cleaning solutions can sometimes be too harsh for delicate screens and keyboards. WOW Wipes' gentle formula ensures that electronics are cleaned without damaging surfaces, making them the ideal wet tissue for keeping gadgets spotless.
With WOW Wipes, there's no need to worry about water damage. A quick wipe-down leaves devices looking fresh and functioning well, all while reducing the buildup of germs and grime that can accumulate on frequently touched items.
4. Promote a Healthy Work Environment
Using WOW Wipes wet tissues is a simple yet effective way to foster a healthier workplace. Offices that emphasize cleanliness are less likely to see the spread of common illnesses, which helps reduce sick days and improve overall productivity. According to Busy At Work, in Australia, the average worker takes about 9.7 sick days annually, costing businesses roughly $3,608 per employee each year. This absenteeism contributes to an estimated $44 billion in lost productivity across the economy. By integrating wet tissues like WOW Wipes into daily routines, offices can better control germs and allergens, creating a cleaner environment that not only reduces sick leave but also enhances employee focus and well-being.
5. Support Sustainability Efforts
For offices aiming to adopt more sustainable practices, WOW Wipes provides eco-friendly options that don't compromise efficacy. The WOW Wipes Bamboo range offers a biodegradable alternative to traditional wipes, ensuring hygiene without harming the environment. Made from sustainably sourced bamboo, these wipes naturally break down, offering a planet-friendly solution.
Another excellent choice for sustainability-conscious offices is the cost effective Eco-Maxx range, which further support efforts to reduce environmental impact. This shift towards eco-friendly wet tissues not only reflects a company's commitment to sustainability-an increasingly important value for both employees and clients-but also helps businesses stay ahead of new regulations.
With the Australian Government's recent mandate on sustainability reporting, businesses are now required to include climate-related statements in their annual reports starting January 2025, following the passage of the Treasury Laws Amendment Bill. As this legislation evolves, it will expand to cover other sustainability topics like nature and biodiversity. By incorporating sustainable solutions like WOW Wipes' Bamboo and Ecco Max ranges, offices can proactively align with these new regulations, positioning themselves as leaders in sustainability and compliance well before these requirements become even more stringent
WOW Wipes Dispensers: A Handy Solution for Office Spaces
To maximize the convenience of WOW Wipes, offices can also install wipe dispensers in key areas. These dispensers are designed to fit seamlessly into office environments, making it easy for employees to access wet tissues whenever they need them. Whether placed near the entrance, in meeting rooms, or in shared spaces like kitchens, these dispensers ensure that wipes are always available.
The WOW Wipes dispensers come in various styles, including wall-mounted and free-standing options, so they can be
easily integrated into any office layout. They're sleek, easy to refill, and ensure that employees don't have to go far to keep things clean.

❝YOU DID THAT ON PURPOSE!❞ ― sim jake
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis | you’re notorious for you’re bad luck in dodgeball. seems like the cute boy from your math class also has bad luck, considering he’s always there to keep you company on the ‘out’ wall.
wc | 1.1k
pairings | jake x fem!reader
genre | one shot, fluff
tw | dodgeball??
note | i wrote this in like 2022… it’s finally out 😼
Tumblr media
you were notorious for your bad luck in the horrid hell game, also known as dodgeball.  Everyone in you class knew it, your sigh can be heard through crowd when the game is announced.
As a person who isn’t a widely known dodgeball champ, you decide to a stick near the back where it seems the safest.
wrong.
lo and behold, as you stood near the back corner of the gym hiding from the treacherous foam balls, a purple ball comes flying and hits you hard on the shoulder.
“ow fuck!” you hissed holding your shoulder. your classmate on the other side cheers and high fives one of his friends.
ew teenage boys are all the same, prepubescent, smelly and far from mature.
you sat on the edge of the wall where all of hit students stayed.
you sat your back against the wall and as you got comfortable, a soft “hi” came from above you.
“oh jake hey.” you respond, still holding your shoulder from the impact.
“ah sorry about that! beomgyu gets a little competitive when it comes to pe class.” a sheepish smile appeared on his face as he apologized.
“nah it’s all good, it’s not like this was the first time.” you laughed it off.
his face brightened at your laugh, a pointy smile forming on his face.
“yeah you always seem to be on this wall. it’s almost as if there’s a reserved spot for you!” his cute giggles fill your ears.
okay you take it back, not all teenage boys were smelly and immature. especially not jake. he was the sweetest, kindest, most athletic and academic boy in your class. not to mention his insanely good looks and cute australian accent.
with that he was the most sought out boy of your grade, and you were glad that you could call him one of your friends. at least you hope he considered you a friend. after all he always talked and texted you.
“i’m surprised you’re here. you’re like so athletic.” you smiled at him.
“oh you know.. we all have our weaknesses.”
for example you, and he thinks that’s his biggest one.
jake couldn’t remember when he started to like you. your magnetic and captivating personality seemed to catch his eye the first time he saw you interact with your friends.
he couldn’t forget your pretty face and cute smile. and the sound of your laugh? best sound to ever bless his ears.
maybe it was when you offered to show him around without being told to when he first moved from australia. maybe it was your alluring kindness and generosity. he couldn’t tell for sure, but he did know that he wanted to be yours.
“that’s funny, who knew the most athletic kid would be bad at dodge ball.” you stated and he laughed and shrugged.
“you always seem to get hit around the same time as me though. it’s like fate.” you added, laughing.
he flushes a bit and laughs.
“i’d hope it is.” he whispers.
your teacher announced a jail break and you sigh, getting up from the wall and walking towards the back of the gym.
you had a good 5 minutes of peace before a dodge ball comes rushing and hit you square in the face.
“OW!” you screech. it was foam but damn the shit hurt. the person who threw that put his blood, sweat and tears in that.
“SORRY!” a your friend jisung screamed and ran up to you.
“han jisung you did not just hit me in the face.” you sighed annoyed holding your nose.
“my bad y/n. I’m sorry!” he tried comforting you.
you let go of your nose, then a red streak of blood came rushing out of your nostril.
“it’s fine-”
“shit y/n! your nose is bleeding!” he cut you off and screamed.
you wiped your nose with you finger and saw blood, cursing under your breath.
“i’ll help you and bring you to the offi-” he offered.
“hey jisung i can take her i’m out anyways!”. jake came running toward you guys. you didn’t care who came with you, you just needed to get there.
“okay thanks jake!” jisung smiled, getting back into the game.
“let’s go quick y/n.” he ushered you out of the gym. by then, your nose was bleeding on to your sleeves.
once you got into the office and sat with a tissue in your nose, you suddenly felt a rush of embarrassment.
“oh god that was so embarrassing!” you cried.
jake who was sitting next to you with a tissue box in hand giggled a bit. “no! it wasn’t.”
“you’re laughing!” you sighed, pouting at him.
“thanks for taking me here by the way. if jisung came with me he’d probably cause chaos in here.”
“nah it’s nothing.” he stated calmly, passing you another tissue.
“no you really didn’t need to do that.” you smiled while taking the tissue and changing it out with you old one.
“it’s funny that you got out at the same time though. again on accident i can’t believe it!”
“yeah on accident.” he sounded guilty?
“wait you did it on purpose?” you rose a brow.
“uh…no.”
“yes you did. why?” you questioned.
“because i wanted to be close to you.”
your mind was buzzing with questions and confusion. why would he want to be close to you? why would he lose on purpose? he loves sports.
“you see, i’ve kinda liked you since last year and i never really get the time to see you unless it’s gym or math class.” he suddenly got shy and avoided you gaze.
“huh? me? why?” you asked, confused. why would he like you? you didn’t consider yourself as pretty nor did he ever show interest in you before. where did this come from.
“it’s okay if you don’t like me bac-”
“i like you too.” you blushed.
“wait really?” his eyes widened.
“why wouldn’t i? you so sweet and smart and like amazing. why do you like me?”
“your just-“ he sighs almost lovingly and you immediately knew.
you laugh. “you’re silly! why would you lose purposely at a game to sit with me by the wall?”
“because i can’t talk to you otherwise, only on texts.”
“whatever goof, let’s go back to class.” you laughed again, getting up.
“fine, but only if you agree to a date with me?” he asked, extending his hand.
“sure, jake.” you smile, taking his hand and exiting the office.
maybe your bad luck in dodgeball wasn’t so bad.

Tumblr media
“congratulations to all of you!” the cheers got louder, echoing around the school gym, and simultaneously, you all threw your graduation caps in the air, celebrating the end of a story and the beginning of a new one.
you can’t believe it. you’ve finally graduated high school. all those sleepless nights of studying and countless exams have finally paid off. you’re now one step closer from going to your dream university. one where you can start fresh.
“you’ve grown so much now,” your mother sniffles, barely being able to contain her tears. “but i know you’ll always be my baby daughter.” she finishes, eyes filled with such warmth and you give her a tight hug, your father joining in as you cry happy tears at this emotional moment.
“of course mom, now stop crying or you’ll ruin both our makeups,” you joke, carefully wiping the droplets on your mother’s cheek using your thumb. your mother does the same to you and your father gives you a head pat, laughing slightly at the both of you.
“i’m proud of you yn, you’ve become a wonderful woman.” your father smiles warmly, giving you a light squeeze, and while pulling away he adds, “but just because you’ll be in college soon doesn’t mean i’m letting you go wild and date boys.”
“dad!” you whine, feeling embarrassed, and you playfully slap your father on the shoulder, which only elicits a chuckle and a ruffle of your hair. “what? i’m just protecting my only daughter. besides, australia is a huge and unknown place, who knows who you’ll meet there.”
“well lucky for you, i’m not interested in dating anyone.” which technically isn’t a lie but not the truth either. you don’t want to date just anyone since you already had your eyes set on someone else.
unknowingly, that someone else happens to be heading towards your direction right at this moment, with both your parents looking behind you. when you see their faces instantly morphing to one of fondness, you can immediately tell who they are looking at.
“yn!” you hear his voice before you see him, and when you turn around you are greeted with your best friend, the person you have been in love with ever since you learned what love is.
he flashes you an infectious smile that you couldn’t help but reciprocate, his pearly white teeth on full display as he gently pulls you into a tight hug. his parents are trailing behind him as they walk towards your parents.
“i can’t believe we graduated!” jisung exclaims, jumping up and down with you still trapped in his embrace, which causes you to move along with him.
“jisung-ah, please stop, i can't breathe—!” you manage to let out before he pulls away, eyes apologetic and a pout adorning his lips.
“sorry, i just missed you so much i couldn’t help it.” you can’t control the blush that starts to show onto your face and you scoff, looking away quickly in hopes he didn’t notice.
“you literally just saw me this morning, you big baby.” you tease, giving his forehead a little flick to which he responds with a dramatic ‘ouch!’.
jisung then proceeds to greet your parents, hugging them and then congratulating him on his achievements. you do the same with his parents and when you are done exchanging words, you both excuse yourselves.
you both arrive at the school rooftop, and once you close the door, you both heave a sigh of exhaustion.
“i still can’t believe high school is over.” jisung speaks first, his eyes fixated on the sunset as he rests his arms on the railings.
“yeah…” you mumble as you approach him before standing next to him and looking at the sunset as well. “now the real shit begins.”
this gets jisung to laugh, yet he still has this solemn look on his face. “you know, we only have one thing left on our bucket list before college.”
“travel to barcelona together, right?” he hums in affirmation, playing with the hems of his toga as he awaits your response.
“well we did agree to find a date first, so we can’t really do that.” you shrug nonchalantly, although you were anything but. the truth is, you didn’t want to date anyone else but him so you never actively sought out other people.
however, you can’t say the same for him. you’ve actually been tiptoeing around him a bit for the past few weeks ever since he and lia broke up, so it’s still a relatively fresh wound.
you remember waking up in the middle of the night to jisung knocking on your bedroom window, and when you let him in he broke down. it was your first time seeing him look so dejected, you weren’t sure what to do. he had sobbed quietly in your arms the whole night, and the only thing you could do was comfort him.
you don’t know the exact reason why they broke up, just that jisung told you that it had been his entirely fault. you want to believe him, though a part of you wishes to resent lia and blame her for everything, but you know you couldn’t do that. instead you just have to live with the fact that jisung will never see you that way and now that you’ve graduated and are moving to another country, you think you’re finally ready to accept that.
“who says we can’t be each other’s date?”
you think god is playing with you.
you whip your head to face jisung, only to find the serious look plastered on his features. you furrow your eyebrows in confusion and he notices, getting ready to explain. “i mean, we’ve been friends for years now, right? it seems like the only logical solution since we know each other better than anyone else, so why don’t we start dating?”
you continue to stare at him, unsure of what to do anymore. you never would’ve thought this would happen, but you have an inkling as to why he’s doing this.
“jisung… i know you’re still hurting but this isn’t the way to cope—” he cuts you off by grabbing both your hands in his, catching you by surprise.
“i’m being serious, yn. i want to try this, i want to see how this goes—and if it doesn’t work out then we can go back to being just friends, i promise! just give me a chance.” he pleads, puppy dog eyes on full display since he knows you can’t resist it. you almost give in, but you know this is only going to end in heartbreak, yours specifically. because you know you could never go back to just friends once you start dating.
you also know it wouldn’t last long especially since you’re moving away soon.
“jisung, i’m moving to australia.” you finally drop the bomb as you pull your hands from his and dart your eyes to look at the sunset instead.
you hear him mutter a ‘what?’ under his breath and when you glance at his reaction you see a mixture of what seems to be hurt and betrayal.
“why? when are you moving? why are you telling me this now?” jisung bombards you with questions, running a frustrated hand through his once perfectly styled hair as he waits for your answers.
“i wanted something new and exciting, like a new beginning.” you try to explain, keeping your voice calm as you begin to see jisung’s eyebrows furrow even more. “i’m moving next week and i only told you now because i knew you’d react like this.”
“like what yn? like i was betrayed by my own best friend? of course i’d react like this! how would you feel if i told you i’d be leaving the country in less than a week without any warning? and what about barcelona?” he asks you and you have nothing to say, knowing that you would react the same way. you were just being selfish and immature.
jisung takes your silence as confirmation and angrily paces back and forth. “i just don’t get it, why would you want to move away from here? away from me? have i just misunderstood everything?”
his last question confused you, making you wonder what he was talking about. “what do you mean misunderstood? am i missing something?”
this seems to fluster jisung as he now begins to stumble over his words.
“uhm—i mean, it’s just that i—uh kind of overheard you talking about your feelings for me—?” you interrupt him with a loud gasp, feeling a sudden wave of embarrassment rush through you.
you were so stupid, how could you let yourself be exposed so easily? as dramatic as it sounds, you feel like your life is officially ruined.
“…how long have you known?” you ask hesitantly, yet you were afraid of what the answer may be.
jisung seems to contemplate on what to say but eventually gives in. “i knew the day after the break up. i went to your place that morning and i heard you talking on the phone. you said you planned on confessing but ended up not doing it because lia and i just broke up and you didn’t want to overwhelm me.”
you were about to open your mouth to say something but jisung is quick to cut you off. “—but! please, hear me out. i like you too, yn. hell— i may even love you! and before you worry about lia, i promise you we’re not like that anymore. it’s just that you’re the one person who’s always been there for me and i was too blind to see it.”
your head was spinning, you’re not sure how to respond. yes, you want to go through the easy route and just accept his confession. you know how badly you want to just ignore all those times he unknowingly broke your heart by choosing everyone else but you. yet you’re aware that it isn’t the right choice.
because you’ve already accepted the fact that jisung will never be in love with you.
“i know you don’t mean that, so please let’s just forget this happened before one of us gets hurt.” you bite your lip to suppress yourself from saying more and jisung frowns, a mix of emotions showing on his features.
“then what do you want me to do so that you’d believe me?” he takes a step closer before gently tucking the stray hair behind your ear. he then cups your jaw, caressing it ever so slightly as you try to regulate your increasing heart rate.
“i’ll only believe you if you stop saying you love me just because i love you. say you love me because you love me, because that is what i deserve.” you whisper, and jisung wouldn’t have heard it if it weren’t for the fact that your faces were now only inches apart from each other.
“i love you.” his lips muttering those words were the last thing you see before you feel it press down your own. he kisses you like you’re the last bit of oxygen left in this world. he kisses you like he wants to kiss you. he kisses you like he loves you. and you kiss him back.
until you hear a ring. at first you both ignore it, continuing to wallow in each other’s presence. however the annoying sound wouldn’t stop, so you both begrudgingly pulled away.
you regret this soon after once you find out it was jisung’s phone, and the caller was none other than his ex girlfriend herself. what hurts more is the fact that he still had her number saved with a heart, clearly still not over her.
you start to feel the burning sensation in your eyes and you attempt to blink repeatedly to prevent the tears from falling but it only gets worse.
“wait, yn— i can explain!” jisung speaks before quickly mutes his phone and shoves it back in his pocket.
“explain what, jisung? that you’re still in love with your ex and i’m just a rebound to you!?” you exclaim, emotions clouding your judgement, making irrational yet you didn’t care.
“i—“ jisung sutters over his words, not even bothering to form coherent sentences and that’s when you understood everything.
god you were so delusional. why would you think jisung would fall for someone like you anyway? especially if he’s still hung up over his ex. you really are the biggest idiot.
“fuck you han jisung. fuck you and all your empty i love yous and promises.” and that was the last thing you say before you decided he was no longer in your life.

I feel like Jake and Amilia are one of those gym couples that would go together. And maybe Amilia films some of her workouts occasionally. One of the times she does, Jake is in the background just heart eyes watching Amilia in her element. And it blows up on like TikTok cause everyone is like damn he's in love with her and checking out her ass and she's like I fucking hope so he's my boyfriend.
Stop it. Stop it right now. Terms of Endearment
I feel like if this did happen it would be something for Amilias work? Like her boss asks her to make some beginning, intermediate and advanced training tips and tricks videos for the gym tiktok account.
And of course it would have to happen while Jakes in Australia just trying his best to win the love of his life back.
He definitely gets a no lock in contract at the gym Amilia works at. He goes to all her classes especially the 6am once’s because Jakes an early bird kinda guy. He just lingers, works out, attends classes, asks for help at reception, makes friends with her co-workers and even her manager!
“Holy shit that video Jessie posted on socials yesterday is blowing up!” It’s Michelle who’s walking in to start her shift that gets Amilias attention while she’s sitting in the staff room eating her lunch between clients. “And it’s all because of your American Psycho Ams.”
Amilias frowning, she’s confused. “What’s he done this time?”
“Nothing, just people are noticing him in the background of the video where you’re talking about hip hinge movements.” Michelle is getting up the comment section and passing her phone to Amilia. “Here, see for yourself girl.”
And she does. She sees for herself and she can’t believe it. There he is in all his six foot American naval aviator glory. Lieutenant Jacob Seresin, starring at her like he’s just learning how to breathe fresh air for the first time in his life. He’s not trying to hide the heart eyes either. He’s looking at Amilia like she hung all the stars in the night sky just for him.
“That guy in the background Is planning his proposal as we speak.” One comment reads.
“Trainer Ams, tell me you know that that the guy in the background is in love with you?” Another reads. Amilia can feels the heat in her cheeks rising.
“Where can I get a guy who looks at me the same way that guy in the background looks at Amilia?” It’s all the comments are about, just the way Jake was unashamed of the love oozing out of him while he watched Amilia work.
“I need to call Jake—“ Amilia is handing her co-workers phone back with a sigh.
“No need he’s in the studio three.” Mark is smiling as he turns around in his chair. “Assault bike.” And it doesn’t shock Amilia in the slightest bit that Jake was already on the premises. It felt like he never left. So she marching in to studio three, the functional fitness studio to give him a piece of her mind. But she stops dead in her tracks when she see Jake talking with another woman. She’s not being shy about the way she looks at him like he’s sex on legs. He’s smiling and she’s smiling too and it looks all too good to be true. Jake’s flirting with someone who isn’t Amilia and it hurts. Why the fuck does it hurt? Amilia can’t help but to notice the way Jakes eyes linger when she walks away.
Oh, oh she hasn’t felt this feeling in a hot minute. Her heart hurts inside her chest and she can’t help but to think maybe she’s lost her mind. Why is she jealous?
“Hey—!” Jakes beaming all the while Amilia stands there like she’s just caught the love of her life cheating, when in reality he wasn’t even hers. Not technically. “I didn’t know you were working today?”
“You have my schedule on the mini fridge in your hotel room, don’t lie.” Is all Amilia says as she makes her way into the studio more as if she was there for something else. “I’m just checking the wow wipes.” Jake knows that tone, something’s not right. He frowns while he follows Amelia over to the wow wipes. “Thanks to you, half the population of my place of employment wants a tell all on my love life and not the proper form for a Romanian dead lift, so thanks for that.”
“What’s there to tell?” Jakes being cocky, he knows somethings bugging his girl. “Didn’t think there was anything?”
“There’s not—“ Amilia doesn’t look at Jake as she checks the wipes, yep. Full ass can be. “But when there’s some guy in the background of my video looking at me like I’m the centre of his bloody universe it’s hard to believe that there’s in fact nothing to tell.”
“Somethings bugging you.” Immediately Jake is on Amilias tail as she turns on her heels to head out.
“You! You’re bugging me!” She snaps back. Turning around to face the man who won’t give up on her to save himself. “You don’t get to come in here, tell me you love me, act all innocent and sorry, act like a love drunk puppy in my videos and befriend everyone around me just to turn around and flirt with anyone you can stick your dick into.” Ah yep, there it is. All Jake does is smirk a cocky tight lipped grin.
“You’re in love with me.” Is all Jake says.
“Rack off Seresin—“ Amilia hates herself all the more because she knows Jakes right. She’s just not ready to believe it herself. How dare she fall in love with him again. Or maybe she never really fell out of love with him. “Next time I’m filming a video for work I’m making sure you aren’t in a one hundred mile radius.” Jake chuckled to himself as he watches Amilia leave, he knows what this is about.
“For the record Oz—I turned that lovely lady’s proposal of a drink or two down.” Amilia freezes but she doesn’t turn around. Jake knows she’s listening though. “I told her I was happily committed to the trainer who’s staring at me from the door like I just committed adultery.” He’d seen her the second she walked in. “Because I am, I’m in love with you.”
Amilia doesn’t respond, she simply leaves and attempts to get through her next PT without Jakes words crashing around in her head. But when she finishes later that day and pulls out her phone there’s a reply to a comment from a one Jake Seresin she can’t seem to stop reading over and over and over again.
“Trainer Ams, tell me you know that that the guy in the background is in love with you?” The original comment reads.
Jakes reply had her dizzy. “She knows, sincerely the guy in the background.”

Haru was running late for practice, and it was entirely his fault.
But that didn’t stop him from trying to pin the blame on Matsuoka Gou, who had moved in with him earlier this year.
The arrangement had been a no-brainer: Gou had secured a place at a university in Tokyo, and Rin moved back to Australia for the summer semester, so it made sense to rent out his room to her to split the costs.
And for Haru, living with another Matsuoka was better than a complete stranger—at least he knew what to expect—but he’d never spent an entire morning watching Rin flit about their kitchen, with little else on but a skimpy nightgown.
What was worse was that Rin had strongly advocated taking his little sister in, trusting that Haru could keep an eye on her in his absence.
Apparently, Haru didn’t count as a threat, and he had thought so too, until he started noticing how Gou looked just as good first thing in the morning as she did when she was dressed up, and after that, the soft contours of her body, the length of her legs when she wore those cotton lounging shorts, and how smooth her skin felt when she sidled up against him on the couch during movie night.
He had been trying to get a head start on an assignment before he left for practice, but instead he was watching her over the screen of his laptop, finding her doing the most innocuous things like loading up their dishwasher and wiping down kitchen counters far more interesting than anything that he was supposed to be writing.
“Haruka-senpai?” suddenly, she spoke. “Don’t you need to get going?”
He followed her eyes to the clock on the far wall and realised that he had under ten minutes to get to the practice, which was at least a twenty-five minute walk away (maybe less if he ran).
With no other choice but to do the latter, he grabbed up his gym bag, shoved in a change of clothes and any towel that wasn’t damp, and patted himself on the back for still wearing his swimsuit underneath his clothes even though his friends had been telling him for years that it was weird.
He was halfway out the door when Gou followed after him, saying: “haven’t you forgotten something?” with her arms folded behind her back.
He wasn’t sure why he thought it was an invitation to kiss her goodbye because he sure as hell hadn’t done so before, but it felt like the most natural thing to do, especially when he felt her kissing him back too.
He pulled away and murmured a shy: “see you later,” and that was when Gou produced a set of his keys and pushed them into his hands.
“I—I meant these,” she stammered, her cheeks lighting up red.
In the end, Haru was over an hour late for practice.
He got an absolute bollocking from Ryuuji and a lot of stick from his teammates, but my god, was it worth it.

Gym Towels Australia
Gym Towels Australia
Gym Towels in Australia
Gym Towels Australia are an essential accessory for anyone engaging in fitness activities. In Australia, the demand for high-quality gym towels has grown significantly, driven by an increasing awareness of hygiene and the booming fitness culture. Selecting the right gym towel involves considering factors such as material, absorbency, size, and durability.
Importance of Gym Towels
Gym towels play a crucial role in maintaining personal hygiene and cleanliness in fitness environments. They are used to wipe sweat from the body, clean gym equipment before and after use, and serve as a barrier between the user and exercise machines or mats. Using a gym towel helps prevent the spread of bacteria and maintains a healthier gym environment.
Key Features to Consider
Material: The material of the gym towel is one of the most important factors to consider. Cotton towels are highly absorbent and soft, making them a popular choice. However, microfiber towels are becoming increasingly popular due to their quick-drying properties and ability to wick moisture away from the body. Bamboo towels are another eco-friendly option, known for their natural antibacterial properties and softness.
Absorbency: A good gym towel should be highly absorbent to effectively manage sweat during workouts. Towels made from cotton and microfiber are typically more absorbent than those made from synthetic materials. Look for towels with a high GSM (grams per square meter) rating, as this indicates a denser, more absorbent fabric.
Size: Gym towels come in various sizes to suit different needs. Smaller towels, around 30x60 cm, are ideal for wiping sweat from the face and hands, while larger towels, around 50x100 cm or more, are suitable for covering gym equipment or using as a barrier on mats. Choosing the right size depends on personal preference and the type of exercise being performed.
Durability: Durability is essential, especially for gym towels that undergo frequent washing. High-quality materials and reinforced edges can help ensure that the towel lasts longer and maintains its effectiveness over time.
Antibacterial Properties: Some gym towels come with antibacterial treatments or are made from materials like bamboo that naturally resist bacteria. These towels can help reduce odors and maintain better hygiene, which is particularly important in a gym setting.
Popular Gym Towel Brands in Australia
Several brands in Australia offer high-quality gym towels that cater to various needs. Some of the popular brands include:
Lululemon: Known for their premium activewear, Lululemon also offers high-quality gym towels that are durable and highly absorbent.
Adidas: Adidas gym towels are designed for performance, featuring quick-drying materials and compact designs for easy carrying.
Microdry: Specializing in microfiber towels, Microdry provides options that are lightweight, highly absorbent, and quick-drying.
Tesalate: Known for their innovative sand-free beach towels, Tesalate also offers gym towels with superior absorbency and compactness.
Conclusion
Choosing the right Gym Towels Australia is essential for maintaining hygiene and enhancing the workout experience. In Australia, a variety of options are available, ranging from traditional cotton to advanced microfiber and bamboo towels. When selecting a gym towel, consider factors such as material, absorbency, size, durability, and antibacterial properties. With the right towel, you can ensure a cleaner, more comfortable workout environment and contribute to overall gym hygiene.

The ability to install waterproof laminate in moisture-prone areas opens up new design possibilities. From bathrooms and kitchens in homes to cafes, restaurants, and gyms in commercial spaces, you can create a cohesive look throughout the entire property.
3. Enhanced Durability:
The waterproof nature of these laminates makes them incredibly durable. They're resistant to scratches, impacts, and stains, making them perfect for spaces with high foot traffic or active use.
4. Easy Maintenance:
Spills and messes are inevitable, especially in busy commercial spaces. With waterproof laminate flooring, cleanup is a breeze. Wipe away spills without worrying about long-term damage or warping.
5. Seamless Flow:
Waterproof laminate enables a seamless flow between different areas of your space. Transition from the kitchen to the dining area or move from a reception to an office space without compromising on the visual consistency of your design.
6. Expressive Designs:
Waterproof laminate doesn't limit your design choices. Create intricate patterns, mix and match colors, or experiment with unique layouts. The versatility of waterproof laminate allows you to express your creativity fully.

Hey so I've been dying out of stress lately (I nearly started crying) because of school and finals that are coming way to fast and I wanted to request like how the Karasuno boys would comfort their s/o (you don't have to tho)
Comforting a S/O who’s Stressed about Exams (w/ Karasuno)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daichi
-okay who the fUck made his baby cry he wants to know
-come on just let him talk to them
- Enters your bedroom to see you on the verge of tears as you sat at your desk, freezing at the sight
- “Are you okay?” “Dai, why would you even ask that?” “...sorry.”
- leans against your desk with a worried expression on is features, listening to your explanation on how high your anxiety was for the upcoming finals as his fingers swipe at the tears
- As you speak, he maintains eye contact with you as he slowly closes your textbook, beginning to pickup stray pens and pencils and putting them in their respectable cups until you notice
- “...Dai, what are you doing?” “Hm? Oh, don’t mind me- you’re just cut off for today.”
- “I’m what” “You heard me. Come on.”
- holds his hand out to you, gaze serious as ever as you look at him increduously, beginning to open your textbook back up
- “Dai, I’m serious, I need to-” “Alright, so we’re doing this the hard way.”
- deadass picks you up, sliding some easy slip ons over your bare feet before beginning to walk towards the exit of your house as he ignores your attempts to break free
- “This is kidnapping.” “That’s just an shorter word for giving you an opportunity to relax.”
- Buys you ice cream and takes you window shopping in order to give you some fresh air, smiling a little when he sees how relaxed you become afterwards
- Takes you home eventually, but leans his head on your shoulder while you study, giving you tips on how to do it with short intervals so you don’t run out of stamina
- Forehead kisses here and there, allowing you to take naps on his lap while he reads through his own book for school, fingers running through your hair absent-mindedly, but that helps you relax too
- so when you pass the exams, you’re walking up to Daichi in the halls with both arms raised
- “...what?” “I passed. Kidnap me.”
- Doesn’t even question it before picking you up again, kissing you on the forehead
- “That’s my girl.”
Sugawara
- “You’re ignoring my calls because?”
- You yelp, covering your mouth after doing so because you were seated in the library, your gray-haired boyfriend scaring you from behind with both hands on your shoulders before he pauses, catching sight of the brimming tears in your eyes
- “Wait, are you crying?!”
- “Suga, say it a little louder. Australia might’ve missed it.” “Shoot, sorry...”
- Cautiously takes a seat next to you, eyes scanning over the material and frowns when he sees just how many practice problems you’ve completed
- “It’s an important exam?”
- When you nod, he rolls his eyes once, simply pulling you into his chest as his hand rests on the back of your head, when you try to pull away, he clicks his tongue
- “Suga, I can’t-” “When you can’t hug your boyfriend because you think an exam that’s making you cry is more important, then we have a problem.”
- Kisses around your face, including the loose tears that were strayed down your cheeks as you can’t help the laughs from slipping your throat
- you blink as he’s suddenly shoving everything in your bag, ignoring your protests before kissing your cheek and bending his knees
- “Alright, get on.” “Suga, no.”
- “Suga, yes. Come on, I look like an idiot crouching like this.” “And what if I said you always look like an idiot?” “Then I’d say I’m an idiot who’s in love with you. Now stop yapping.”
- you roll your eyes as you awkwardly clamber onto Suga’s back, hearing his satisfied grunt when you do so
- “Perfect. Now, where would you like to go, little miss?” “...I think I’d like to be put down-” “Wrong answer!”
- takes you on a stroll through the school courtyards, not letting you off his back despite the strange stares you were getting from students
- you quirk an eyebrow when he places you under a shaded tree, letting out a few hums as he begins to unpack your stuff for you
- “Suga, what-” “We’re going to have a study picnic. You missed my calls, I missed my lunch. No complaints!”
- feeds you while you study, grinning at you when he tests you with flashcards, and high-fives you when you get it right
- “Suga, I passed!!” “Well duh, goregous-”
- Hugs you tightly as you melt into his embrace, his smile hidden in your hair
- “Never doubted it for a second.”
Asahi
- “Asahi, please, not right now.”
- poor baby was just trying to ask if you wanted him to walk you home from school, leaving the room with a frown when your tone seems annoyed
-is halfway down the hallway because he doesn’t want to bother you before he pauses, and then spins on his heel back towards your classroom
- freezes when he sees you sitting alone in your empty class, hand covering your eyes as you sob freely, thinking everyone had gone home
- “Y/N?” slowly reaches for your hand, flinching when you pull it away
- “A-Asahi, I thought I told you to go without me! Y-You don’t have to see me like...like-!”
- cuts you off with a bear hug, allowing you to cry into his shirt as his large arms embrace you
- “I want to know when you’re feeling like this, okay?” when he finishes listening to your hiccuping explanation, he plops down in the seat next to you as you eye him questioningly
- gently leans your head towards his shoulder, shushing your protests and not allowing you to lift it
- “Rest. Please? For me?”
- so, in an empty classroom past school hours, you fell asleep on your large boyfriend’s shoulder to the sound of him writing
- smiles at you as you sleep, eyes scanning over the material before he realizes that he remembers the information on the exam you were about to take, seeing he was your senior
- when you wake up a half hour later, you’re left in your seat with Asahi’s school coat draped around your shoulders, and a notebook with a sticky note on the front
- Look over these for now. I highlighted what was important. I’ll be back soon, I went to get you some tea and snacks <3
- when he slides the door to your classroom open, you tackle him in a hug, apologizing for being short with him earlier as he chuckles and pats the top of your head
- “I’m glad I came back.” “...did you get me mochi?” “Of course I got you mochi.”
- so when you pass your exam with flying colors, you’re the one to poke your head into Asahi’s classroom as the bell rings, a bright grin on your face
- “Want to walk me home?” “Nope, let’s go celebrate-”
-he plants a shy kiss on the top of your head as he swings his bag over his shoulder “-you earned it.”
Nishinoya
-Let’s be honest, he really can’t understand why you’d be so upset over an exam
- so when he catches sight of you in the middle of the courtyard from the second floor of the school, he’s darting towards you as fast as you can, holding you by your shoulders as he meets your eyes with widened ones
- “D-did someone die?” “No!” “Did you get bitten in Animal Crossing?” “No.” “Are you dying?”
- whines when you thump his head, your other hand wiping hastily at the tears in your eyes that he caught you with as you huff, turning back to your textbook as you begin your explanation
- “...that’s why you’re crying? Babe, it’s just a test!” “To you, maybe. I seriously can’t fail, and I’ve been studying non-stop.”
- frowns when he sees you going back to studying the tear-stained pages, sniffling quietly to yourself before he snatches the book from you, throwing it over his shoulder
- “Noya what-?!” “Leave it. It’s not like anyone’s gonna steal it.”
- deadass pulls you away from the courtyard, hand clasped tightly in yours as you arrive in the gym used by the volleyball club
- “Sh. No questions.” Puts a finger to your lips as he disappears and reappears with a cage full of balls
- “Noya-” “Hup! What did I say?”
- smirks at you as he puts a ball in your hand, making his way to the other side of the gym before crossing his arms cockily
- “Hit it.” “What?”
- “If you can manage to make me lose a receive, I’ll let you go do your nerd thing, or whatever.” “Noya-” “Babe, please just hit it.”
- you sigh before tossing the ball lightly in the air and hitting it with your free hand dejectedly as it projects off to the side
- “Wow, you suck.” “Yuu, I swear-” “Hit it again. Like you mean it.”
- you don’t question the glint in his eye before grabbing another ball and hitting it again, this time with more force as Noya’s eyes gleam before receiving it easily, smirking all the while
- “That’s more like it. Unless you can’t make me miss?” “...what the hell did you just say?”
- as you hit more and more balls towards your boyfriend, beginning to stop questioning his antics you realize one thing: it felt good
- “Y/N!! I love you!!” he yells as his arms form a heart with his head, grinning at you cheekily as you laugh. “Hit that ball like it’s the exam! Come on!”
- so you did, hitting many until you’re breathing heavily, arm beginning to become sore
- “How do you feel?” Noya jogs up to you, wiping sweat from his brow before you grab the front of his shirt, pulling him in to kiss him feverishly, smiling when his lips move back against yours easily as his arms snake around your waist
- “I feel amazing.” is what you whisper when you pull back, Noya running a full lap around the gym at top speed at the energy you gave him with your kiss
- “Alright baby! Let’s get our study on!” “Our?” “As long as it’s with you, I’d most definitely jump into a volcano.”
- picks up the tossed book in the courtyard, opening it seriously before pulling you in with his other arm, sitting criss-cross next to you as his eyes scan the pages
- “Alright, so where are we?” “...english.” “Shit.”
Tanaka
- Walks into your bedroom with his hands shoved in his pockets before he stalls at the sight, seeing you curled up on your bed with a textbook laying open at your side, tears streaming freely down your cheeks
- Lifts his sleeve up his arm and passed his elbow as his expression darkens, hands gentle around your tear-stained cheeks as he lifts up your face to meet his deadly gaze
- “I want names, and I want them now.”
- “Unless you can beat up an exam, babe, I can’t give you any.” “...huh?”
- plops down on your bed, facing you as his hand wipes at the tears on your cheeks before he sighs, pulling you into his chest gently
- “You scared me. I thought it was something serious-OW! Violence is never the answer!” “This is something serious to me, Tanaka!”
- “...oh.” awkwardly scratches the back of his neck as you open your textbook back up, causing him to put it down again with an eyebrow quirked
- “Why are you going back to the very thing that made you cry?” “Because I have to, so gimme.”
- deadass puts your textbook in an outstretched arm to where you couldn’t reach it, smirking when you land in his chest when trying to do so
- throws the textbook on the ground as he relaxes into your bed, not letting you go despite your protests as he hugs you to his body, smiling when you finally relax
- “Isn’t this nice?” “...no.” “Oi, don’t lie. It won’t kill you to take a little break. So I’ll cuddle you, okay? What do you want, I’ll do anything for you.”
- “Can I be the big spoon?” “...anything but one thing. I’ll do anything but one thing for you.”
- groans when you win, becoming the small spoon to his girlfriend that absolutely had him won over completely
- “Do you feel better?” “Mm. Will you kiss me?”
- cheeks turn hot immediately, turning towards you slightly before he turns back again
- “...anything but two things-” “Tanaka, just shut up and kiss me.”
- kisses you quickly after he sits the two of you up, placing a hand on the side of your cheek with reddened ones, rolling his eyes at your cheeky smile
- “Well, at least now you’re smiling. Come, let Tanaka-sensei tutor you.” “...how about you be here for emotional support?”
- “Rude, but I can do that too...are you sure? I think I’d make a great-”
- “Oh, I’m sure.” “You answered too quickly.”
Kageyama
- awkward boy doesn’t know how to react to ANYONE if there’s tears involved
- “She’s what?” “Y/N was crying in class today...” Yamaguchi puts his hands up in slight defense as Kageyama’s out the club door a split second later
- manages to catch up with you halfway down your route from school, nose buried in your textbook as he easily jogs up to put a hand on your shoulder
- blue eyes widen when you lift your head up to meet him with tear-brimmed eyes, stress evident on your features as you weakly smile at him
- “H-Hi Kageyama...” “What happened?”
- Stiffens when you lay your head on his chest, feeling his heart rate go out of control as you explain the upcoming exam, and the toll it was taking on you
-barely heard any of it because he was internally freaking out, but got the gist of it
- “Ah.” “Yeah.”
- stands there awkwardly as you manage to stop crying, still sniffling and hiccuping slightly as Kageyama hesitantly takes your hand in his
- “...it’s just an exam. If it makes you feel any better I haven’t passed one all year.”
- you stare at him for a second before laughing, causing your boyfriend to blush as his features turn accusing
- “what?” “No. I think it’s just cute. You’re cute.”
- shit why did you need to go call him cute twice in one sentence
- “...do you want to go get something sweet?” “Sure. What about your club?” “It’s you. They have to understand if it’s you...”
- “what was that?” “noTHing. what did you say?” “Uh, I didn’t say anything...”
- watches you happily eat the parfait he bought for you, feeling satisfied that you were mostly back to your usual self until he sees you opening your textbook back up, his hand reaching out to stop yours before he can realize it
- “What are you doing?” “I still have to-” “No. No exam is worth making yourself cry over.”
- “But I-” “We’re on a date, aren’t we? Pay attention to me.”
- clamps his mouth tight after the words come out, blushing at your look of surprise as he struggles to find the right words, watching as you slowly shut your textbook
- “I didn’t-!” “Alright. I’ll pay attention to you.”
- “W-wai-” “Hm? Or I can go back to study-” “nO okay yes, pay attention to me.”
- frustrated at your teasing before you giggle, stopping in surprise when his hand covers yours from across the table, ears pinkened
- might as well damn you’ve stepped out of comfort zone twice today Kageyama
- “I...I’m glad you’re laughing.”
- “What was that?” “I didn’t say anything, are you going crazy?”
Hinata
- “Hinata get off of me.” “Not until you tell me why you’re crying. I will tickle you dammit.”
- the orange haired baby had burst into your room with the play from yesterday in hand, excited to watch it with you when you had looked up at him with red eyes and wetness down your cheeks
- pins your wrists to the bed, orange eyes serious as his hands begin to trace your sides, signalling he was about to start tickling you soon if you didn’t fess up
- “Who made you cry?” “No one.”
- Hinata gettin kINKY as shit ngl
- “The upcoming stress is giving me a bit of anxiety, that’s all.” you mumble in response to Hinata’s tilted head and look of questioning as he releases you, falling on to the side of the bed as he stares up at the ceiling by your side
- “Then let’s do it together.” “Hm?”
- “I need to study too! Plus you’re waaay smarter than me, so maybe if you teach me, you’ll be able to do even better!” Sits up excitedly, pulling you into his lap as his orange eyes gleam
- “Whaddya say?” “I...that’s not a bad idea.” You blush when Hinata rests his chin on your shoulder, seeming to be deep in thought as he plays with your fingers
- “What are you thinking about?” “How to make the exam makers suffer because they made my baby sad.”
- “HinATA-” “Joking. It was a joke.”
- studies with you brightly, not letting a wrong answer bring the mood down as he simply punishes you with tickles, willing you not to get the answer wrong or you’ll face his wrath
- “u-uh, a comma?” “Nope! Come here!” “Hinata please-!”
- laughs when you let out a shriek of laughter, pausing when your hands find the sides of his jaw, your eyes looking up at him lovingly
- blushes when you lean up to kiss him once on the lips, using the opportunity to break out of his hold
- “T-That’s cheating!” “I call it, using my resources.”
- “How about this, for every answer you get right, I’ll kiss you.” he shyly states, looking off to the side as you grin at his cuteness
- “You’re on, love.” “Better not get it wrong!”
Tsukishima
- “I left for three minutes, did you miss me that much?”
- was studying with you in his living room in his empty house, leaving to use the bathroom and grab you a drink only to return to the scene before him
- you were staring down at your textbook with tears in your eyes, brows furrowed in confusion as you lift your head to meet the blank stare of your boyfriend
- “N-no...I just realized how close the exams were. It’s stressful...”
-says nothing as he sits next to your trembling figure, placing the cold can of melon juice on the table in front of you silently
- “Sorry, I didn’t mean to make you feel-!” “I’ll listen. You have five minutes.”
- stares straight ahead as you hiccup through your explanation of worries, turning his head towards you when he’s met with silence
- “You finished?” “Y-yeah...”
- pops your can of melon juice, holding it out to you as you stare at it in confusion
- “Drink.”
- Watches as you down half the can, feeling refreshed as he takes the can and drinks the rest, setting the empty drink on the table
- “Now take a deep breath.”
- didn’t expect for you to start panicking again and runs a hand through his blonde hair before hesitating
- blonde baby isn’t good at affection
- but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like it, he just feels better when you’re the one to initiate it
- puts a single hand on the top of your head, looking off in the opposite direction as he brings his knees to his chest
- “Don’t cry. It makes me feel weird.”
- looks back and sweat drops, only to see you gazing up at him with a look that screamed you’ve never done this before wtf before retracting his hand hastily
- “Are you tired?” He changes the topic quickly, and you bite your lip before nodding once. “Can I...lay on you?”
- shit why did you need to ask him he would’ve been fine if you just did it
- looks off to the side again before nodding once, feeling blood rush to his cheeks when your head is suddenly in his lap, causing the tall boy to have to steady his breathing
- “Tsukki?” “What.” “You’re really good to me...you know?”
- begins to play with the ends of your hair as your eyes droop closed, carefully placing his earbuds in your ears and selecting a soft music selection as you fall asleep, ensuring you can’t hear him
- “The feeling’s mutual.” “...hm?”
- “I said shut up and go to sleep. We’ll continue when you wake up.”
Yamaguchi
- “Y/N, you’re mom let me- whoa. Hey, are you crying?” “No Yama, I’m not.”
- Sits his bike helmet down slowly before approaching your frustrated figure, your hands clenched through your hair as you shuffle through the strewn papers, eyes brimmed with tears
- “Are you okay?” “Do I look okay?! Exams are within the next week, and no matter how much I study, I-”
- listens to you rant as he takes a seat on the edge of your bed, flinching when your voice raises octaves as if accusing him until you come to a sudden halt
- “Yama, I...” “No. Continue. Let it out, it’s okay.”
- When your boyfriend smiles his sweet smile towards you, your throat becomes choked up as your arms reach weakly out
- Hugs you immediately, smiling when you bury your face in his shirt from your sitting position
- “I-I’m sorry...” “Nope. None of that...do you know how you can make it up to me, though?” “Hm?”
- gently turns off the lamp that lit up your desk space, putting all the papers in one neat pile before tugging you out of your chair
- “Where are we going?” “We’ll figure it out when we get there.”
- Straps his jacket helmet on you tightly as he perches you on the back of his bike, ensuring you were okay with sitting with both legs to the side before kissing your forehead before fastening the strap
- “Yama, I hope we’re going to a library or something-” “Nope! Nice try, though.”
- “Hold on tight, Y/N.” as he wraps your arms around the middle of his body, grinning when he feels you tighten your grip before he begins to move his legs to begin cycling
- the fresh air calms you down immediately, and you close your eyes and lay your head against Yamaguchi’s back peacefully as you enjoy the ride
- “How do you feel?” “Better. Lots.”
- stops cycling in front of your favorite food stand, resting his bike against a rest stop as he approaches you to unfasten the helmet
- “Hey, Yama.” “Yes, Y/N?”
- was not expecting for you to reach your lips up to meet his, causing a blush to spread over his freckled cheeks when you keep him there with your hand
- “...I seriously need to study.” “Bribing me with kisses won’t work.”
- “What if I did it again...?” “I love you, but no. How about I kiss you anyways?”
- “I mean, if you want.” “Did you just play me?” “Like a fiddle.”
- Rolls his eyes before he kisses you again, you still perched on his bike as he uses the straps on your helmet to pull you in
- Exams should come sooner, tbh

Waves
Summer placed her phone inside of the mount and made sure that it was secured before she sat back in her bed, getting comfortable with the mass of pillows supporting her back, and smiling tentatively. “Hi, guys.”
Summer!
Someone tell me this isn’t a joke???? Please???
She lives!
Sis, blink twice if you need help.
Summer rolled her eyes. “Ya’ll better stop. I know it’s been a minute since I’ve hopped on live, but it hasn’t been that damn long.”
Summer continued to read the comments where more than a few people pointed out she hadn’t gone live on Instagram in over three months. Her mouth dropped. “Ya’ll lying. It has not been almost six months, has it?” She placed her hand over her mouth when people started dropping dates in the comments. “Okay, I stand corrected. Damn, I’m sorry, guys.”
Don’t be sorry, bestie. Do better!
Damn, ya’ll are so entitled. Celebrities have lives too.
What life? We all been in quarantine.
Rich people quarantine be different from us poor folks, I guess.
“So that’s actually one of the things I wanted to talk about.” Summer cleared her throat. “And I’m going to try really hard to make sure I word what I want to say as clear and as effective as I can, but I know this is still going to end up as a salacious headline. So, it is what it is.”
Oooh, Summer about to drop some tea.
I don’t see her wedding ring, ya’ll…..
I’m scared omg.
Watch this be nothing but a role announcement.
She shrugged and took a deep breath. “Okay, so a few days ago, I did the Buss It challenge, after being harassed by Sanda. And can I just say that filming was a challenge in and of itself? Not necessarily the movements but preparing? I’ve got two kids, twins, who are like the Tasmanian devil. I was literally up at 3 something in the morning trying to record it because my wild children won’t let me be great.” She chuckled. “Kids are something else.”
Summer truly jumped through hoops and was a damn near acrobat trying to figure out when she could not only get herself done up but actually record the challenge. Being the perfectionist that she was didn’t help, but the fact that she couldn’t recall the last time she’d put on makeup and dressed up was a whole other fiasco.
Quarantine definitely brought out her bum side.
“All of that aside, I truly was satisfied and happy with the final product when I posted it. In hindsight, I should have just left it that, but I wake up every day and choose chaos, so I decided to read the comments.” She blew out a breath. “One of the most frequent comments and really, insults, I’ve received my whole career. Primarily, since I was cast as Storm, revolves around how I look. I.e., my weight. I’ve been called fat, obese, out of shape, and so many other things.”
It was 100% true. The minute Marvel announced that she’d been chosen to play Storm, the racists came all out of the woodworks. She was too short, too chubby, too dark, too black. And Summer didn’t care, not a bit.
“Even,—and I’ll tell you guys this, when I first started my SS training, that’s what I call it, SS for Storm Shape, there was a—person who worked for Marvel at the time who came to visit me while I was training.” She smiled thinking back on that day. She could still recall it so clearly. “He basically was pissed because to him, I still looked the same, fat and out of shape.” She adjusted her top and shifted in her bed. “That same day, I deadlifted and bench-pressed over 200lbs” She paused for effect. “What I need for people to stop doing is stop fucking projecting—and I’m going to cuss in this, so if you don’t like it, oh well. I work for Disney, but I’m a grown ass woman, and I’m going to say what I want.”
I am screaming. Summer said we getting alll the tea today!
So, it’s wrong to point out that someone is physically unhealthy now, cool?
The problem is that no one wants to see a fat superhero. It’s not realistic.
^^^^ Tell me you have a small dick without actually telling me you have a small dick.
“I saw Lizzo, whom I adore, post a Tik Tok where she basically said that she workouts to have the body she wants not what ya’ll want, and honestly? Same. She said that her body type is no one’s fucking business, and that’s so true. Ya’ll love to hop on this internet and pick apart people you don’t even know and criticize bodies you don’t even have to live in and move around with. And for what?” She shook her head, slamming her fist into her open palm as she spoke. She was fully invested now. “I know we in quarantine, but damn, pick another hobby cause being a bully is not it, sweetie.”
I really needed to hear this today.
Using Lizzo as a point of reference makes everything you’re saying null and void. Lizzo is clearly overweight and at risk for diabetes, heart disease, just to name a few…..
I been saying this! You can’t look at a person and say they’re unhealthy.
Bodies come in so many forms, and all are beautiful.
“Now, I bring all this up because a lot of people were commenting on my Buss It challenge and pointing out the fact that I’ve gained weight, and guess fucking what? I have, and you know what else?” She leaned over to whisper while covering her mouth with her hands for focused effect. “I don’t care.”
Summer laughed and shook her head. “As others have pointed out as well, yes, we have a gym in our house. I 1000% acknowledge the fact that having the resources that I do as a celebrity and someone who has money puts me in a different category. Hell, my husband has a whole fitness app. I recognize that. If I wanted to keep up with my workouts, emphasis on wanted, I could have. I own up to that, but I just didn’t feel like it, and that’s okay. What’s not okay is to send and leave mean messages calling me all kinds of names.”
Summer had thick skin. She always had. Growing up with her family, who always ensured to feed her self esteem and make sure she knew that she was beautiful, definitely paid off. It was just a combination of quarantine and not having a lot of opportunities to keep herself busy with work that had her feeling some type of way.
“And that’s something else I wanted to bring up.” She blew out another breath and tried to gather her emotions. This was the subject she was almost certain she’d grow teary eyed discussing. “I love my husband to death. My children are everything. Christopher’s family is like my own, but— I haven’t seen my family, like my mom, grandma, brothers, etc in almost a year.” She paused, dwelling on that. Almost an entire year since she’d been able to physically hug and interact with the people who made her who she was. “And I’ve always made it clear how much I fucking love my family. I live in Australia. I can’t do a drive by with grandma so I and my kids can at least see her on the doorstep.” She quieted again, eyes darting off as she quietly cursed. “I’m trying really hard not to cry right now.”
Please don’t cry, bestie.
This is the side of quarantine that people don’t talk about enough.
Has this woman never heard of FaceTime????
I feel her pain. I live in Europe, and my family is in the states. This quarantine has been brutal.
My grandma died from COVID, and I couldn’t even go to the funeral. Summer is bringing up a good point.
“Damn,” Summer chuckled bitterly and wiped at the tears that fell. “I’m okay, I promise. I just bring this up because quarantine has also been very hard for me in that aspect. At certain points, I’ve been down, I’ve been in my head a lot, and I just was not, for the most part, in a space where I felt like I had to keep up my fitness regimen. And that’s okay. I put my mental wellbeing ahead of making sure my body is socially acceptable. Sue me.”
I really appreciate her honesty.
Summer never goes beyond surface level in interviews, so seeing her this vulnerable is really surprising.
Are we supposed to feel bad for her? She’s rich. She can afford whatever help she needed.
These comments are not passing the vibe check.
Ya’ll are all mental health advocates, but when a black woman is opening up about her struggle, it’s discarded?
“And let me make this clear too, I have an amazing husband who is so patient and so kind. He’s one of the best people I can go to when my anxiety hits, so I don’t want this to come across as me complaining that I’ve been alone. I have him and our children. I just miss the rest of my family. That’s all.” She dried her eyes and started to read the comments, unsurprised by the mixed reaction. She expected as such and was unaffected. At least until she saw one comment.
@ChrisEvans: ❤️❤️❤️
“Evans!” Summer wasn’t expecting to see his name pop up. It’d been such a task convincing him to join IG, let alone teaching him how to operate it. “Let’s go live.”
Not my husband and wife in my head about to go live!!!!
Imagine being able to call Chris Evans your best friend
I still say they smashed idc
It’s Christopher Jamal Evans hopping on this live for me.
^^^ I’m so sick of y’all with that shit.
“Let me try to add him,” Summer spoke to herself, scrolling through the comments to find his so she could request him. “Alright, I requested him. Let’s see if he answers.”
She wondered if she should have sent him a text asking if he was available when he appeared on her screen, effectively splitting it with her on the top and him on the bottom.
“Punk.”
“Kid.”
Summer smiled and greeted, “Hi, best friend.”
He chuckled. “How you doing, Summer?”
“Clearly not as good as the people watching,” she chimed. Summer saw nothing but heart eyes and hearts in the comments. “These people really love you. You truly are a manipulative bastard. He’s an asshole, guys.”
“Don’t be jealous, Summer. It’s so unbecoming of you.”
“You can go to hell.”
“Language,” he playfully reprimanded. “Where are the kids?”
“At preschool. Things are finally starting to open back up over here. Thank God.” She clasped her hands together. “Y’all, please wear masks. Don’t be Karen’s.”
Chris laughed, grabbing his chest. “We’re getting there, Summer.”
“The lies you tell,” she countered. “Don’t A Starting Point, me. Ya’ll are far from getting there, and I’m tired of it. I wanna see my family.”
He sighed. “I know, but how are you feeling today?”
“I got rid of the kids, so that’s definitely a weight lifted,” she answered honestly, laughing when she saw judgmental comments in the chat. “Listen, if you’re a parent, you know where I’m coming from. You love your kids, but my god, sometimes you just need some space.”
“As soon as this all blows over, I told you to send em’ by me for a couple of weeks.”
“Best friend, I already purchased their tickets.” He laughed. “As soon as I get the green light, they are all yours. Feel free to keep them.”
“You guys see how she is?” He pointed to Summer, leaning and squinting to read what was being said. “I do love kids, especially the twins, they’re amazing.”
“He is really really great with them, guys,” Summer added. “One thing about Evans, he’s patient as hell and really, just a big kid. Why do you think him and Christopher get along so well? 40 going on 4.”
“I resent that.”
“Is it a lie though?”
He hesitated. “No.” They both laughed.
I’m loving the dynamic between these two so much.
Is it just me or are they flirting with each other…..
Ain’t nothing inappropriate about this conversation. Ya’ll are reaching…
Ya’ll remember that blind item that came out years ago alleging Chris (Evans) was the biological father of the twins? Hmm…..
^^^^^This kind of bullshit is the reason we’re in a global pandemic.
As always, Summer and Evans ignored any foolery that was being dropped in the comments when she caught a comment that didn’t contain some ridiculous rumor.
“Yes, it is true that Evans and Christopher weren’t allowed to do press together anymore. Ya’ll, they literally could not stay serious for more than a minute. I felt so bad for the poor interviewers.”
“Hey, we were not that bad,” Evans protested, his Boston accent more prominent.
She gasped. “You guys were terrible, Evans, and you know it. I was so mad when they put me with ya’ll those few times. I could barely hear the interviewers over your laughing and stupid commentary that literally no one asked for.”
“We did not.”
“There’s deadass video proof, Evans.”
“Fake news.”
She opened her mouth but caught herself. “I was about to say something.”
He laughed and asked, “Do you remember how we all got drunk before the Infinity War premiere?”
“No, ya’ll got drunk. I was big and pregnant, remember?”
“No,” he dismissed. “You were drinking with us.”
“Evans, how was I drinking when I was pregnant?” She challenged and reminded. “I got drunk with ya’ll for the Endgame premiere, not Infinity War.”
“That’s right,” he remembered and chuckled. “You think we’ll get in trouble for saying this?”
She shrugged with one shoulder. “You’re dead, Christopher never gets in trouble for anything, and I do what I want. I think we’re good.”
Kevin Feige watching this live right now like 🥴🥴🥴🥴
I never realized how arrogant she is……
LMAO. Not the whole cast showing up drunk to the biggest premiere of their lives.
Chris Evans is too damn fine to be approaching 40 and still single.
Their friendship is so goals omg
@ChrisHemsworth: Snitches
Summer’s jaw dropped as she caught the last comment, swiping up to click the name and make sure that she was reading correctly. “Christopher, what the hell are you doing on my live?”
Evans brows furrowed. “Hemmy is here? Shouldn’t he be working?”
“That’s what I want to know,” Summer supplied. “And how long have you been watching?”
@ChrisHemsworth: Long enough.
She smiled nervously and looked off to the side. “I feel weird now. I don’t like when he watches my lives.”
“Aren’t you guys married?”
“Aren’t you supposed to be shutting the fuck up?”
Evans lifted his hands in a defensive manner. “Touchy subject, I see.” They shared another laugh as he cleared his throat. “Why don’t you add him now? I’m supposed to be helping Scott cook.”
“My favorite Evans,” she gushed and furrowed her brows. “You, cooking? Since when?”
“Get out of here.” He waved her off and reminded. “I’m not the one who constantly causes near fires when in the kitchen.”
“So, you really just putting all my business out there like that?”
“Summer, it’s not secret to anyone that you can’t cook for shit.”
“Wow, it really be your own best friends.”
He chuckled. “Love you, kid.”
“Love you too, punk,” she blew a kiss. “I’ll text ya’ later.”
“Alright.” He smiled for the camera. “Thanks for having me everyone.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah,” she said jokingly. Evans and Summer said goodbye one last time before he left the live. She blew out a breath and ran her hand through her hair. “Baby, comment something so I can add you. It’s too many comments to wade through.”
Summer adjusted her phone and checked the time on the clock on the wall. It’d been a while since the kids were away at school, and she didn’t want to get so caught up that she was late picking them up.
@ChrisHemsworth: I can’t. I’m too drunk.
Summer released a mixture of a laugh and a snort reading his comment. “You are so damn petty.” She clicked his name and adjusted her outfit while waiting for him to answer. She almost cursed when it seemed like he wasn’t going to join, only for her to smile when his face appeared on her screen.
“Hi,” she greeted in a soft voice with a small smile.
“Hello, Sandcastle.”
“Did you just—I swear to god, it’s always something with you.” Summer rubbed her temples and shook her head. Christopher smiled in response. “Why aren’t you working?”
“I am.”
“You are?”
“Yes.”
“If you’re working, how are you talking to me?” She asked, sassily.
“Umm, a little thing called multitasking, ever heard of it?”
“Wow. You are an asshole.”
“That’s mean.”
“You’re mean.”
“Christopher, you are literally a child.”
“Does a child have muscles like this?” He flexed, and Summer stilled. Christopher stayed in ridiculous shape, but this was another level. He’d never been this massive, and she wasn’t too proud to admit that. Just not aloud.
She faked a yawn. “Am I supposed to be impressed?”
They really just be roasting each other all the time, and I’m here for it.
Summer must be legally blind because this man is stupid fine tf
It’s gotta be steroids. That’s not natural.
^^^^^He’s the god of thunder.
Summer rolled her eyes at the typical nature of the comments. These were the reasons she limited her time on social media and especially stayed away from reading the comments. Her attention was redirected to the top of her phone. It was a text from Christopher asking her to call him.
“But we’re—oh, I get it.” She realized he wanted to talk to her, not her and her tens of millions of followers. “Alright, guys, I’m gonna get off here so I can talk to my husband, alone.”
“She just doesn’t want to share me with you all, that’s all.”
“Don’t even start, Christopher,” she lectured while he laughed and got serious, for a minute tops.
“Hope you all are taking care and staying safe,” he spoke honestly. “And we’ll talk to you soon.”
Summer waved and smile. “Bye, guys. Remember to be kind.” Summer offered a final smile before ending the live. Closing up the app, she moved to open FaceTime and called up Christopher. He answered almost immediately. “You know I hate when you watch my Lives. Now, how much did you see?”
“Enough to know you’re coming to see me tonight.”
She laughed aloud. “Funny.”
“I’m serious, Summer.” Focusing on him, she realized that there was no humor in his voice nor his expression. Summer also noticed that he didn’t have the Thor wig on yet, which was probably why he was able to go live with her. He was waiting to get into hair and makeup. “Leave the kids with Liam. It’s not like he’s doing anything.”
“Christopher!”
“What? Is he not a professional unemployed bastard.”
Summer’s smile remained as she shook her head. “You are so mean.”
“I’ll handle the flight arrangements. You, my beautiful wife, just make sure you get on the jet so I can handle you.”
“Christopher, you’re working. People with everyday jobs don’t just up and show up to their spouses workplace because they miss them or need a break from the kids. That’s how folks get fired.”
Christopher started to move around, walking somewhere, she realized. “What are you doing?”
“Hey, Tike.”
Summer’s eyes widened slightly. “Christoper!”
“Sup, man?” Taika asked casually, as Summer laughed again. Taika Waititi was such a character.
“You mind if Summer comes up for a few days?”
“Sure, man,” he replied almost right away. “Bring the kids and chickens too.”
“I am not bringing those damn chickens,” she immediately protested.
Christopher made a sound. “Ha, so you are coming!”
“I didn’t say that.”
Taika joined Christopher so that he was in camera. “Hey, Summer, why don’t you come on join? You can have a cameo. Chickens, too.”
She rubbed her temples. Taika’s and Chris’s friendship would never not make sense to her. They were cut from the same cloth. “One, hey. Two, I was already in Ragnarok. I’m good on the cameos. Three, what is with ya’ll and those creepy looking chickens?”
“Whoa, creepy? What did the chickens ever do?”
“Exist,” Summer answered dryly. She still hadn’t forgiven Evans and Christopher for convincing her to let the kids keep those damn things. Her home was becoming more and more of a farm with each animal that joined the household.
“Tough crowd, that one, ehh?”
“Always,” Christopher agreed.
“I can hear you both,” she reminded and groaned loudly. Summer would love to spend a few days away from the kids. Chris would be working, yes, but she’d at least get some time for herself. Even better, alone adult time with her husband. That had also been a bit tricky during quarantine because of her rambunctious twins. Still, she disliked using her status as a celebrity to gain things, and this would definitely be a case of using status for pull. “I don’t know….”
Deep in her thoughts, she hadn’t realized that Chris had walked away and returned to wherever he was prior to finding Taika, most likely his trailer.
“What if you only stayed a night?” Chris tried to bargain. “The flight is only an hour and a half. That will give you more than enough time to come here, let me fix you dinner, run you a nice bath, maybe get in the good ole’ horizontal tango—”
“You know I hate when you call it that,” she reminded quietly, admitting. “That does sound nice, though.”
“Or, I can come to you—“
“Absolutely not. Christopher, you’re already doing so much back and forth as it is.” One of the good things to come out of quarantine, to Summer at least, was that it forced many people to take a much needed break. Her husband was one of those people. Christopher had been working nonstop since she met him. Project after project, film after film, many of them Marvel films, which put a whole other layer of difficulty what with the strenuous physical requirements. Even now as he shot Thor 4, he was in the best shape he’d ever been, muscles nearly tearing the cotton of his clothes. He looked amazing, but it was what they couldn’t see that she was starting to grow a little concerned over. Christopher wasn’t as young as he once was. He had to slow down, eventually.
Summer realized this would be a perfect chance to have a conversation about just that with him, which all but led her to her final decision.
“Alright,” she conceded, finger up as she made her demands. “Three days, and I stay at the house while you shoot. We may be returning to normal, but we’re still in a pandemic. I won’t go around anyone except you.”
“So I get you all to myself? Hardly consider that a stipulation.”
“And…we talk.”
“After the horizontal tango—“
“I swear to God, if you don’t stop calling it that—“
“What was that, sweetheart? I wasn’t listening.” She saw that he had paused the screen, causing Summer to remember that she hadn’t even consulted with the babysitter. “Making flight arrangements for you.”
“Shit, let me text Liam and make sure he’s available.”
“He gets reception in the box?”
“Christopher! For the last time, your brother is not living in a box.”
“Do you know that for certain?”
“Goodbye, Christopher,” she prepared to end the call before smiling softly. “I love you, Christopher, and thank you.”
He winked. “I’ll always do anything for you, Summer. Anything.” A beat. “Don’t forget to leave the clothes. You won’t need them.”
“Christopher!”

To Hell & Back
Part Three: “I don’t scare you and I guess that’s why”
Tumblr media
Summary: You attempts at payback keep getting ruined. Somehow, you keep needing the same idiot you hate.
Prompt: “I don’t want to live on this planet anymore.”
Warnings: Swearing. [Also typos, probably. Which shall be repaired by tomorrow]
Pairings: Bucky Barnes x Reader
---
Series Masterlist [in case you missed the other ones]
----
"Good morning-" your customer service smile widens just a smidge, "-what can I get ya?"
Bucky narrows his eyes, lips tightening into a thin line as he looks over you. Even with the counter between you and the little fluff in his hand, he still manages to look intimidating.
You're trying your best to not show how much the sight of him, angry and inconvenienced, pleases you. It's a mission, but you keep your professional façade intact.
"I'm going to throw you off the roof." He growls, adjusting his arm as he glares at you. "Then I'm gonna dance on your grave."
"That doesn't sound familiar," you say coyly, tilting your head to the side. "Is that some kind of latte?"
There is a line forming behind him and your co-workers are you giving the both of you side-eyes. Bucky doesn't seem to care, his blue eyes flashing with what you can only hope is anger. You don't care either, you warned him and he didn't listen.
"You took my parking space-" he dumps the white fluff onto the counter between you. "-my fucking parking space."
You shrug. "You made me drink filter coffee."
He glowers. "That justifies your actions?"
"Filter," you emphasize, gently nudging the little fur ball towards him. "Filter fucking coffee, Barnes. Do you know what that shit does to a person?"
You can hear one of your co-workers mumble an "oh, here we go" and you shoot them a glare. Turning back to the mammoth in front of you, you nudge his gift back to him.
"Excuse me-" Bucky turns around, giving you a clear view of the old man behind him. "-some of us have things to do. Can you two hurry the fuck up?"
You both blink at the man, completely unfazed, then turn back to each other. He shoves the cat back to you and it lets out a disgruntled out.
"Take your cat and go home," you gently push it back to him.
"I don't have a cat." He pushes it back.
"Your parking space disagrees." You pick it up and put it in his arms.
He narrows his eyes, holding the cat. "That was just cruel, even for you, doll."
"Not a doll."
"I will be taking your parking space."
"I don't have one-" you grin. "-no car, no space. Also, you can't prove I took your parking space."
His nostrils flare. "Who else would put this-" he gestures to the furball clinging onto him, "-in a box and put it where my bike is supposed to be?!"
You blink at him. Once. Twice. Then frown. "Wait, why do you have a car and a bike?"
"Seriously?"
You nod. "Yeah, I keep forgetting to ask you about that-"
"Sweetheart, I'm going to drop you off in Australia after this-" your heart nearly plummets at the thought and you glare at him. "-and that's your concern, right now? The car and the bike?"
You don't question why or how he knows Australia is on your list of murder sites. You also don't question why the way he just called you sweetheart makes you want things you shouldn't.
You're about to respond, something snarky that will piss him off even more, when the same guy interrupts again.
"Hey!" He rounds and stands next to Bucky, glaring you both down. "Listen, I didn't beat morning traffic for some coffee only to have some gym buff flirt up the cashier."
Bucky's eyebrows shoot up. He tries to blink back the shock, but he can't.
Flirt? With you? He could never disrespect you like that. Not at your job. Never like this.
You have worked with, and for, people like that for the longest of time. So you're not surprised by the tantrum the man throws.
However, you're running low on patience at the moment.
"Sir-"you glare at the man, "-this man, right here, is a war hero. A veteran. The reason half the world is back. You owe your life to him. So if you're gonna be an asshole-"
Bucky cuts in. "Doll, it's oka-"
"Shut your trap, Barnes!" You hiss at him, before turning back to the man. "If you're gonna be an asshole and accuse him of flirting with me, then call him Sergeant - not gym buff. Now, get the fuck out of my shop before I have him throw you out!"
The man sputters, random words flying out of his mouth as he scrambles to form a sentence. Bucky grimaces at the sight and turns back to you.
"That wasn't necessary-"
"He called me a cashier."
He pauses, then nods. You were a barista first, manager second - you worked far too hard on that promotion to be demoted publicly by an asshole - and spiteful third.
You would rather let your neighbour call you Doll, than let a stranger assume your job title.
"Fair point. I'll take a coffee while I wait for you-"
You slit your eyes. "What kind of coffee, Barnes?" You grit the words out.
It's not a question, it's a warning. One he blatantly ignores as he adjusts the kitten in his arm.
He gives you a smile, the most innocent smile you've ever seen on that face of his. And that's saying a lot, you've seen all his smile and none of them are this deceiving.
A pit forms in your stomach at the glint in his eyes. Utter betrayal.
"I swear to god, if you say filter-"
"Decaf." He cuts you off, a sweet smile on his face. "I'll take decaf."
---
You had wiped down the counter three times, before finishing with your queue. Then took over making the drinks, while everyone else worked the registers.
If Bucky wasn't sure that you were making him wait on purpose, the fact that you let everyone else take their breaks first was confirmation enough.
Once you were sure he had been stewing for long enough, you took your fifteen minutes.
With a bottle of water and an empty ice cream cup, you move to the little corner booth in the back. Bucky leans back, eyeing your hands, as you approach.
"That's all you're gonna eat?" Is his question as you sit down.
"Not for me," you pour water into the cup and nudge it towards him. "It's for your new friend. Or roommate. Or whatever it is you called 'em back in the day."
He rolls his eyes, gently picking up the cat from his lap and placing it on the table. He nudges the water closer to cat.
"Now," you fold your arms on the table and rest your chin on them, watching the little thing make it's way to the water. "Tell me more about this fuzzball."
Bucky frowns and shifts slightly in his chair, slowly analysing you. You don't notice, too busy focused on the cat that shouldn't be in the shop.
For a moment, you have this wondrous look in your eye as you watch. It's there for a short moment, then it's gone. He wants it back. In your eyes, where it should always be.
You chance a look at him. "The cat?"
"Why aren't you eating?" He counters. "Isn't it your break?"
"No, it's not for another three hours." You straighten in your seat. "This is just a breather, so use it wisely."
"Okay, then what will you be eating in three hours?"
You sigh, folding your arms and leaning in your seat. "Are you asking me out for lunch, Barnes?"
He bristles. Not because of the question, but the use of his last name. He prefers Bucky, you know he does, but he's gotten so accustomed to you calling him anything other than Bucky that it worries him.
"No," he states.
Not lunch. That's not enough time, it's never enough time.
Dinner. That's a definite. Nights are longer, and you don't have to rush back to work after. It's not enough time either, but it's a gateway to breakfast. So, not lunch. Never lunch.
"Then?" You raise an eyebrow.
He retaliates by raising his. "Will you be eating lunch or working through it?"
You stare at him, eyes flicking between both blues. He stares back, something you've noticed he's good at. And knowing that stirs something inside you, something you wish you could drown.
"Yes, Barnes-" you sigh. "-I will be eating lunch."
"Good."
"I always figured Blondilocks was the mom friend of your death squad. Guess I was wrong."
Blondilocks is a nickname you reserved for Steve. It used to piss him off, but now he realises how fitting it is.
He chooses to ignore your remark. "Now, let's talk about the parking space and the cat."
"I'm innocent."
"No, you're not." He glares. "You threatened to take my parking space and now you took it."
"I plead the fifth."
"And you involved a cat. What am I supposed to do with a cat?"
"I want a lawy–" you pause, his words seeming to echo in your head. You sit up and place your hands on the table. "–wait a minute. What did I do with what cat?"
Bucky points at the kitten laying on the table. You're not seated by a window, but the rays of sunlight still reach your table – much to the furball's delight.
"The cat in my parking space." He says it like you're supposed to know what he's talking about.
Which is both amusing and upsetting, because you don't.
You blink at him. "I didn't put a cat in your parking space."
"Yes, you did."
"No, I didn't. I put something else in the parking space–" you claim, your mind flashing with the images of plates of tampon-stuffed jelly that you placed on his parking space. "–but not a living creature. I'd never abandon a living, breathing thing in a basement parking lot for payback. I'm pretty sure that's illegal."
It's Bucky's turn to be confused. The only reason he was there, at your work, was because he tried to park his car – only to find a large box in the middle of his parking spot. Inside the box, was a small pillow and bowl of milk, next to what looked like a small, white fluffy tennis ball.
He thought it was you. It made sense. The thing inconvenienced him, like something you would make sure to do. And it was added responsibility that you knew he never wanted. So, of course he thought it was you. It had to be.
"Wait, so all you found was a cat?" You frown, clearly annoyed at that little fact.
Bucky nods slowly, confused that it wasn't you. Who else could it be, if not you?
You huff. "So... You didn't get my surprise gift to you? At all?"
"There was a cat," he explains again. "In a box. That's it."
"Now that's just fucking disrespectful!" You're beyond pissed now. "I spent the entire night on those dishes."
"No need to be dramati–"
"Barnes–" you flash your eyes at him, picking up the table's salt shaker and pointing it at him. "I will use this."
His eyes narrow. "I'm not a demon–"
"I," your eyes narrow further, "will use this."
---
There's banging on your door. Loud and insistent. You don't need to ask, to know who it is.
You're also very, very aware of the fact that your mother somehow got a copy of your keys. You called her out on it, one Saturday Session, gross invasion of privacy was the term you used.
Somehow, those words twisted into something far more sinister and you left your childhood home feeling worse than you did when you walked in.
You hated those five years. Watching your mother mourn both your sister and father did things to you, things no one should ever have to go through. But watching your sister's husband –  a man you used to respect – turn into everything you hate, that had to have been the worst of it all.
You hated those five years, you hated the Avengers for not winning too. But now, with everyone back, you wish they'd lost again.
"Psst," you're on your balcony, hoping your neighbour's super serum gave him superhearing. "Barnes."
You slipped out the glass door the moment you heard a key being slipped into your front door locks. You guess your mother is either with your sister, or she gave her a copy of your keys. You made sure to close it on your way out, and hid out of sight.
"Barnes," you whisper again, "Barnes, open up. I will freeze to death out here."
A soft click sounds, followed by your neighbour's glass door opening a fraction. He sticks his head out, a frown on his face as he eyes you.
"Wha–" he inspects your attire, the only light coming from a street pole a few blocks away. "–why aren't you wearing pants?"
You stick your hand out, wiggling your fingers at him. "I will cat sit for you, if you can hide me."
The barrier, a makeshift fence, between your balconies reaches his waist in height. But you have no upper body strength so pulling yourself over it will lead to a disaster, and the amount of noise that will expose your hiding place.
Sighing, he steps out onto the balcony and gently shuts the door behind him.  It takes you moment to realise he's shirtless, and in sweatpants, then another to realise you've never seen him shirtless and in sweatpants.
You're staring. Gawking. And it's shameful, but you can't seem to pull yourself together.
It's unsettling for him, the way you're looking at him. He clears his throat but you don't seem to hear it, too far in your own mind apparently.
Your hand, the one you'd held out for him, slowly lowers to the railing and you blink. The cold air nips at your skin and you have to force yourself to look up at his eyes.
Big mistake. You think as your breath hitches, he looks like he wants to throw you off the roof, but your heart flutters a bit at the sight of his little pout.
The corner of your lips twitch. "Sorry, I didn't mean to," you begin, "you just... You do look like a gym buff in those pants."
He glares. "You gonna stare all night or what?"
You wish you could find that little part of you that wants to say yes, just so you could throw her off that balcony.
This time, you lift both your arms up and pout. "Or what."
Gentle hands grip your waist, warm and cold, and hoist you over the railing. Bucky gently sets you down, your mismatched socks barely warming your feet against the cold metal.
"This is the weirdest booty call I've ever had," you muse, trying to keep your mind off of his hands on you.
He scoffs, taking a step back. "Pretty sure that's my line, Doll–"
"–not a Doll."
"–and  I'm pretty sure this is more of a home invasion, than a booty call."
"You would know."
Sighing, he squeezed passed you to open the door. "Ladies first."
You curtsey and practically leap inside when you catch a glimpse of your glass door opening. A sharp pain slices through your arm as you land on your side.
Bucky is about to rush in, to ask if you're alright, to see if you've actually lost the remainder of your mind. Because you must have.
"Oh."
He shivers, in the worst way, at the sound of your sister's voice and is forced to abandon all thoughts of checking on you. Schooling his face takes priority now.
He turns around, grimacing slightly at her shocked expression. "Hey."
"Uh-uh–" she stammers, eyes that match yours scanning every inch of him as she does. "–uh-uh-"
Nodding, he sighs. "Yeah, sorry–" she's not the first to react like this. He's just glad that your staring didn't result in that. "–I came out for some fresh air. I should've known someone would think to do the same."
Your sister's gaping only seizes when her husband's voice echoes from your apartment. Of course she'd bring her husband.
"Oh," the asshole repeats, stepping out onto the balcony. "Hey, man. What's up?"
Bucky shrugs, forcing a smile. "I didn't know you guys were over. Woulda stopped by and said hi, if I knew."
"Oh," your sister lets a nervous laugh, waving the thought away. "No, no. We were just in the area and wanted to stop by. Ya know, check on her."
Bullshit.
They came because of the poisoned muffins.
Bucky doesn't need to force the smile anymore. "Oh, that's great. How is she?"
This is probably the first time they've managed to leave their place. Or else they would have been there earlier in the week.
The asshole shrugs. "I hope we didn't make dinner uncomfortable for you on Saturday," he adds instead. "We really enjoyed your company."
"Hmm." Bucky nods, still smiling. Near grinning now. By the third twitch of lips, he knows he has to get back inside before it's too late. "Well, goodnight."
He thought the torture was when he had to walk back, slowly, into his own place without breaking down. Then closing the door at a slow pace, as not to give anything away.
But as soon as he turned around, as soon as he saw you sitting on the floor, on his impromptu bed. Legs criss-cross, kitten by your feet, and cup of coffee in your hands. Everything changed.
"Helped myself to some coffee," you whisper, cradling the cup closer to your lips.
Torture would be the following night, and the nights after that. Where he would walk into his apartment, and not find you there – like this.
"Fuck."

hello!! how are you doing Molly? this feels like a bit of a strange request but I would love to hear your thought on what kind of exercise the characters in your AU do? we know that Kate runs and obv has incredible volleyball skills, I am getting a feeling that Anthony might have played rugby and given Lucy's drunken escapades she might have a history of doing gymnastics? as you can tell, I have spent way too much time thinking about it. would appreciate any thoughts you have on this!
Hello!
I’m doing good thanks! I managed to finish my knitting this morning (My sister is going to Tasmania so I was making her like a cowl/headband situation) and it turned out pretty great! It was a public Holiday in Australia today and as soon as I’m done here I’m gonna make some nachos and guacamole so... you know. Thrilling!
No request is a strange request in this inbox and it would thrill me to tell you about it! Very glad to have kept you wondering!  I will again, be sticking to our main six characters, actually, you know what, Edwina and Matthew Goose Bagwell are joining the fray with their love story this week let’s add em in!
Anthony does run, but as we found out this week he cannot keep up with Kate. Though he still claims this was because he was unfamiliar with the route. Anthony played rugby in school and university and Kate very much likes the idea of him in little shorts.
Kate as we know runs and and played Volleyball for the University of Lincoln. He does strength and conditioning under sufferance when Edwina begs her to go with her. Kate can also Ice Skate well, though nowhere near as well as Edwina.
Benedict is a Tennis guy. He played a little in school, not at art school and doesn’t really play anymore outside of the occasional hit. But he still loves going to Wimbledon every year.
Sophie doesn’t have time for exercise tbh, she’s a very busy gal. And she didn’t learn how to dance, or play badminton in school. The boarding school she was sent to was very... basic and more focused on giving the girls there practical skills. Benedict does eventually teach her how to play tennis though
Gregory is not really a sports guy. He played rugby and football at school like everyone else but he didn’t enjoy it. He decides to start going to the gym at lunch about 12 months after he starts working at B&S and poor Lucy, unbeknownst to Greg, spends a lot of time being very flushed and more than a little distressed when he comes back to the office in his singlets and shorts, his new biceps on display and when he lifts his shirt to wipe his brow one day poor Lucy drops all of Kate’s files.
Lucy did Gymnastics for 12 years. Uncle Robert was absolutely convinced that they would have an Olympic Gold medalist in the family. And yes, she liked it, but no, she did not like the very strict diet she was put on, the endless training, it was exhausting. So maybe she pretended to be a little worse at it than she actually was until Uncle Robert let her quit.
Matthew was a rower at Cambridge (where he went on scholarship) He doesn’t really do it anymore, but he did it at university because it seemed to be what everyone was doing. But she doesn’t do it so much anymore
Edwina despises her personal trainer, but it’s unfortunately part of her job to live up to the unfair standards of conventional beauty, despite how much she pushes for diversity in the industry, and she’s content to be a WOC in the industry at all, but that doesn’t stop her fighting for more diversity. Edwina is a very good figure skater. Like, probably could have turned professional, can do a double axel and is reasonably good at lifts with a partner.
Hope this satisfies your Curiosity

It had only been two years since you had seen these halls last. You didn’t think that you’d be back here this soon. You thought that you’d come back for the ten year anniversary and that was it.
But then your little sister decided to play basketball, and there was no way that you would miss her first varsity game in which she starts.
So, here you were, sitting in the high school gym, on the rickety bleachers that looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned since well before the last time you sat on them for a pep rally.
You’re so engrossed in the game that you don’t even realize that someone has sat down next to you until they clear their throat.
You look over, your body immediately going rigid. You hadn’t seen Luke Hemmings since your graduation say, and you hadn’t talked to him since well before then. You used to be friends with him, but suddenly everything changed. He was a completely different person. He swore that he wasn’t, said that you were the one that had changed. But really, he pushed you away, acted like he couldn’t stand to be around you.
You had ended up stopping all attempts to fix whatever broke between the two of you, and you had refused to talk to him unless absolutely necessary. You didn’t even congratulate him on the fact that he graduated, and he made no attempt to do so either.
But now, here he was, all grown up. He looks the same, just with longer hair and sans the lip ring.
“Um, hi.” You manage to say. You can feel your cheeks heat up even though there’s no reason for them to do so.
“Hey, didn’t think I’d see you here.” He says, accent still completely present, even though he’s been far from Australia for the majority of his life.
“I can say the same about you.” You look down at your hands, then quickly look back up at the game. Really, you’re just trying to keep your eyes anywhere but on him.
“So, what brings you here?” He asks after a few moments of silence between the two of you. Your body had begun to relax, seeing as you were a lot more comfortable now.
“Sister’s out there on the court. She’s number 22.” You say, feeling a sense of pride fill your chest. You weren’t always the best at showing her, but you were immensely proud. She was living her dream. All she had wanted since elementary school was to play basketball for her high school. She believed that her dream was forever unreachable after she was cut from the team in middle school, but here she was. Having the time of her life and absolutely dominating with her team.
“She’s good.” He says, watching her just as closely as you were. He had only met her a handful of times, but she seemed to be just as heartbroken as you were when he stopped being your friend.
“Yeah. I’m so proud of her.” You breathe, before realizing that you never asked what you had really been wondering all along. “What about you? What’re you doing back here?”
He chuckles and you finally let yourself glance back at him, his gaze immediately locking your eyes on his.
“I come back sometimes. I liked high school, like remembering some of the things that happened in this gym from time to time.” You look away again, body going stiff. You didn’t like to think about the things that had gone down in this gym.
He had almost kissed you freshman year while you were sitting on the bleachers adjacent to the ones you were currently perched on. He had pushed you away for the last time before you gave up in the opening of the short hallway that leads to the locker rooms. He had ripped your heart into pieces when he had laughed in your face when you teared up over the fact that he changed in that exact spot. And almost exactly where you were sitting now, Luke’s best friends had called your name for Homecoming Queen and then told you that it was all a joke, that nobody would ever vote for you.
So yeah, you couldn’t really think back on the memories with happiness. You couldn’t blame him for doing so, though, he had a lot of great memories that you had been present for in this place, and even more when you weren’t there.
He had been adored and fawned over in this very room more times than you could count, so no, you couldn’t really blame him for missing what were his good old days.
“Why’d we stop talking?” He blurts after another long beat of silence.
You scoff. He’s asking as if you didn’t go over it with him a million times at the beginning of sophomore year.
“I’ve explained this too many times, Luke.” You sigh.
“No, you explained that I changed. I didn’t change at all though.” He pushes. Was he really going to act like he didn’t become a completely different person?
“Really, Luke? You didn’t change? Because I remember you doing just that. I- we were best friends. We did everything together. And I don’t- I can’t tell you what happened, honestly. But the- at one point, the boy that I knew changed.” You run your hands across your thighs, letting the denim of your jeans wipe off the sweat that had gathered. “We were fine at first, during freshman year. But you- we just stopped talking. You never seemed to want me around anymore. You joined the lacrosse team, made a bunch of new friends, and decided - I don't know, that you didn’t have time for me anymore?”
“That isn’t what happened, Y/N.” His eyes scanning your face, and his gaze makes you feel shy, wanting to duck away from his stare.
“Then what happened?” You ask pointedly. If he was so sure that he didn’t change, what really pushed the two of you apart?
You had stopped paying attention to your sister, you noticed. A wave of guilt rushed through you. How could you let him distract you like that?
He starts talking again, though, and you know exactly how. His voice is captivating, demanding your undivided attention. “Probably not the best time, or the best place, to tell you, but um- I…”
You look at him, raising your brows and urging him to continue.
“I, um, you know, I fell for you. Caught all the feelings that I shouldn’t have. So I thought that I’d make this crazy plan to get them to go away. Which really, just pushed you away. And I- God I knew that you didn’t feel the same way. There was no way- someone as pretty as you could never like me. I don’t know why I even let my-” You cut him off, placing a hand on his arm and drawing his attention from his words.
“Why- what’s the point in telling me this now?” It’s been years, you’d have thought that he would’ve found a girl to settle down with by now. Why did he feel the need to confront you - his apparent high school crush?
“Haven’t stopped thinking about you.” he mumbles. If you hadn’t been so engrossed in the conversation, chances are you wouldn’t have even heard him. But you did, and your chest immediately tightened, the butterflies that you had suppressed so long ago coming right back.
“I- I don’t kn-” You start, but he cuts you off.
“You don’t have to say anything if you don’t want to. Don’t feel pressured or anything.” He blurts, placing his hand on top of yours, trying to make sure that you feel comfortable. “I was just wondering if maybe you’d want to- i don’t know… get coffee with me maybe? Or tea, or whatever you want, I’m good with whatever.”
“Coffee’s fine.” You chuckle. You wouldn’t admit it to yourself yet, but you definitely missed him. And his feelings definitely weren’t unrequited.
*
You meet him at a cute little coffee shop near the school after you drop your sister off at home.
It’s quite late, so you decide to order a tea at the counter before going to sit down with Luke in the booth that he chose. You can’t help but feel a little nervous. Before tonight, you hadn’t talked to him in years. What were you supposed to say to someone that you feel like you never knew?
“So, um, I’m really sorry that I made you feel the way I did back in high school.” He starts, and you feel a smile creep onto your face.
“It’s fine, nothing to even worry about.” You wave him off. It was years ago. You hadn’t even thought about it that often before he came and sat by you. You had successfully pushed the thoughts from your mind a long time ago.
“It’s not fine though. I hurt you. I let you think that I just didn’t want you around anymore. That- I was so stupid. I’m so sorry.” You can’t help but think back to the days when it was just you and him, before anything got complicated. You would sit in a booth similar to the one that you were sitting in now and study together. Well, really, you’d just sit together and talk about things while eating your favorite foods, but you both still called it studying. Because, if you weren’t actually going to be, you had to at least pretend to be productive.
“No, really. It’s fine. I should have noticed something was off. Tried to talk to you about it, maybe. Perhaps even told you when I fell for you.” He looks up from the drink that he had been stirring with wide eyes.
“You- wait. You had feelings for me?” He seems unconvinced. Were you just doing this to make him feel better about having them for you?
“Can’t say that I ever stopped having them.” You all but whisper, hoping he doesn’t hear it. You know that he does, though. You can hear his sharp intake of breath. For a moment you’re scared that he’ll laugh at you, just like he used to. Tell you that you’re a fool for still caring about someone after years of not even interacting with them.
But then he reaches over and grabs your hand. He gives a quick squeeze, almost one of reassurance. For what, you don’t know.
He then gets up and throws away the drink cups. When he walks back over to you, holding his hand out, you gladly take it.
He leads you back to your car, standing with you outside of it for a moment.
You study his features, see how his hair has grown out more than you had fully expected. It comes down a lot further than you had ever seen it before. You’re noticing how the strands are different colors, lighter and darker blondes mixing together and making the beautiful blonde that makes his eyes pop. You let your eyes continue to wander, and then you see it. A little leaf in his hair that’s fallen and gotten tangled in his waves.
“You have something in your hair, umm… Do you want me to get it out?” You say, looking him in his eyes. He nods slowly, letting you do what you want.
You reach your arm out, picking the leaf from his hair and tossing it to the side. Instead of letting your hand fall though, you slightly run it through his hair, letting it travel over his cheekbones and down to the curve of his jaw.
You let your hand rest there, something about feeling him beneath your fingertips causing a shiver to run down your spine.
He’s looking at you so intensely that you can’t imagine ever looking away. You let yourself stay that way for a moment, entranced in his eyes. But then, when you’ve stood there for way too long, you start to believe that maybe you’ve crossed a line. Done something that he didn’t want, overstepped his boundaries.
But all that’s wiped from your mind when he grabs the sides of your face with his hands, pulling you into him and letting his lips glide over yours. It’s slow, calculated. Like the both of you are scared that it may not be right.
You pull away after a moment and smile at him.
“I still have feelings for you, too.” He breathes.
Instead of replying, you let your lips meet his again. This time, it’s more determined, passionate. This time, both of you want this and the other knows that for sure.
This time, he’s the one to pull away, and you almost want to chase his lips with yours, his taste already clouding your senses and making you crave more of him.
“Will you go on a date with me?” He asks.
You’ve barely nodded your head in confirmation before his lips are back on yours.
Maybe that gym wasn’t so bad after all. Because even though some stuff went down, everything that happened there had led you to this exact spot. Every moment had led to Luke coming up to you today and you now being in his arms. And you couldn’t be happier with where you are.

Caliban x Cheerleader | 1
Tumblr media
Note: Nothing R rated, a few made-up things to make it flow, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to use my ask box! Compliments & constructive criticism are always welcome too. There IS a part 2 started, hence why it ends where it does. I’m rusty, it’s been YEARS since I’ve sat down to write anything. Hopefully you like the concept. I’m just rambling now. x
Part 2
--------------------------------------------------------------------- “So turn on 5, 6 and pose on 7, 8.” Roz and Sabrina danced with the girl next to them. Spinning their Baxter High cheer skirts in a circle before they posed the same as her. “Then we walk to the pyramid until the next dance part at the end.”
“Thank you so much for letting me come over.” Addy laughed, “The homecoming performance was about to be a failure for me.” “Honestly, if you ever need help, let us know.” Sabrina smiled, “And don’t be afraid to talk to us at school, everyone else at Baxter is laaaaame.” She joked.
“It’s so weird being the new kid in high school. Everyone’s already buddied up and knows what’s going on and I walk in wondering if a raven is the actual mascot.”
“You totally have to meet Harvey and Theo, we’re with them all of the time and we love new friends.” Roz reassured Addy that high school wasn’t going to be as bad as she thought.
“I’m just going to do it with the music a few more times, I think I have it.” She pushed play on the speaker that sat on the ground outside of Sabrina's house. Which was quickly explained to her that it was a mortuary AND house on the short walk from Baxter High after cheer practice.
Roz cheered her on and Sabrina excused herself to the restroom. As she wiped her hands clean and stopped to see what Hilda had in the oven, she got the odd feeling that someone was watching her.
“Caliban, what are you doing here?”
He peeked through the small opening from the attic door into the kitchen, “Ambrose needed me.”
“I would ask for what, but Ambrose and his projects scare me already and… now he’s involving  you.” She groaned as he walked into the kitchen, “Please leave now.”
“But I noticed you were having a little cheer practice.” Caliban pulled the curtain back and looked at Roz and Addy finishing the routine up, grabbing hands and jumping when they had done it perfectly.
“We’re helping out the new cheerleader. She just transferred.” Sabrina grabbed a plate of cookies from his hand, “Now, leave.”
A few skips and she was back at the speaker, setting the cookies on top. “Aunt Hilda’s chocolate chip cookies, fresh from the oven.”
“Addy, you have not had a cookie, until you’ve had an Aunt Hilda cookie.”
She tossed her red and yellow pom poms to the ground, “Then hand me an Aunt Hilda cookie.”
“Brina, what is he doing here?” Roz motioned to the porch where Caliban stood.
“He should be leaving.” She whispered, knowing Caliban could hear her. Without speaking he told her off and she shook her thoughts clear of his words.
“Brina, not very nice of you to have friends over and not introduce me.” He yelled from the porch before making his way towards them. He obviously already knew Roz and had his eyes set on the blonde who stood behind the two of them.
“Caliban, this is Addy, she cheers with us.” Sabrina spoke quickly, “Addy this is Caliban, he.. he’s… a family friend.”
“A family friend.” Caliban gently pushed Sabrina to the side, “A great, long-time, family friend of the Spellmans.” He stuck his hand out to Addy who met hers to his, he gently shook it, “Addy, is it?”
Addy smiled up at him as he pushed his hair out of his face to grin back at her, “It’s actually Addyson, but everyone calls me Addy.”
“Beautiful.” He barely spoke over a whisper.
“Well, we’ve got to practice.” Roz grabbed Addy from Caliban’s grip and walked her towards the speaker. “Let’s go over the first part one more time, the ripple has to be perfect.”
As Roz distracted Addy, Sabrina drug Caliban back to her porch, “You stop it now, stop the thing now.”
“I’m not doing the thing.” He held his hands back in defense, “I was just introducing myself to Addy.”
“And that’s all you’ll be doing. Why are you even here still?”
“I saw a beautiful girl and wanted to introduce myself,” He sat down on the porch, watching the other two practice along with counts. “Sorry it wasn’t you.”
“Well it’s time for you to leave.”
“Go practice, Sabrina.”
“Caliban.”
“Practice Sabrina.”
She rolled her eyes at him, “Don’t even think about it.”
“There’s something about her.”
“You don’t even know her! I barely know her! Please, leave Caliban.” She begged before stomping down the steps, regaining her poise and joining in the last part of the dance.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Go Ravens!”
“Let’s go Baxter High!”
“Go red and yellow!”
Every cheerleader celebrated their performance as they skipped off field, the football team taking over as the homecoming game began. They all exchanged words of how great it had gone, some hugged, some took selfies, but Sabrina and Roz made their way through the crowd, easily finding the tall, messy haired, blonde.
"You cannot be here.”
“Why? I’m just a Greendale resident who came to the football game.” He tugged at the Baxter High hoodie he wore, “I’m a mere mortal.”
Sabrina tried her hardest, giving every reason she could, but there was no way to kick Caliban out of the game without the entire town noticing.
“At least.. sit by Harvey or something?” She sighed, grabbing his arm and dragging him towards the stands where Harvey sat by Theo and a few others.
She came to a sudden halt when Caliban quit walking, “Addyson…”
Her ponytail swung as she spun around, he shook Sabrina from his arm, “That was amazing.”
Addy blushed, squeezing her pom-poms in her arms in front of her, “Thank you, so much.”
“You look lovely.” She seemed like he had smacked a love spell on her right then and there. Her eyes were beaming up at him, her smile wouldn’t budge, it took Sabrina three times to get her attention.
“We’ve got a game to cheer at.” She fake laughed, “C’mon, Addy!”
“I’ll wait for you after the game.” Caliban smiled at her as she nodded back and he walked up to sit by Harvey, who was shocked, but accepted it when Sabrina gave him a thumbs-up.
He didn’t speak the whole game. Harvey watched him watch Addy the entire time. Her every move, every turn, every step, his site never left her.
“So she’s why you’re here.” Caliban looked over at Harvey, “Addy. You came to watch her? She’s new, how do you even know her?”
“They practiced at the Spellman’s yesterday.”
“You know that Brina is not going to let you get close to a mortal.”
Caliban gave him a smirk, “Sabrina can’t tell me what to do.”
Baxter High somehow won the football game which gave everyone more reason to celebrate. “Everyone meet at the diner in twenty minutes!” Harvey yelled, “Fright Club is going to play a few songs!”
Sabrina and Roz followed Addy closely because Caliban hadn’t let her out of his sight since he had gotten to the game. He carried her cheer bag to the diner, sat next to her and even asked Sabrina for ‘dumb mortal money’ so he could pay for her food.
In the middle of a Fright Club song he asked about the cell phone he had gotten that day and had Sabrina show him how to use it. He didn’t even have the number memorized but he got it so he could talk to Addy. (As he was told by Ambrose: Apparently ‘showing up when he knows she needs him’ isn’t appropriate.)
“Brina, I know my own way back to your house, you don’t have to follow.”
“But…I promised Addy’s mom that I would walk her back home if it was dark and I’m not going to just let her show up with a strange guy. Besides, Harvey took Roz home and I don’t want to walk alone.” She shrugged, running to catch up with them.
As she listened to the conversation there was a lot he needed to learn… well, figure out if he was going to speak to a mortal on an everyday basis. A Demon Prince of Hell, made of clay, that was thousands of years old just didn’t have a grasp on today’s trends and technology.
“See you tomorrow, Addy!” Sabrina waved to her and her mom in the doorway, Caliban standing next to her, smiling. The door slammed closed making Sabrina jump, “What in the heaven!?”
“Something’s wrong here.” Caliban walked to the side of the house, looking up and down at the bricks, noticing the windows.
“Caliban, stop!” She whispered, “You can’t just walk in someone’s yard!”
“I cannot leave her knowing something is wrong.”
“You don’t know that anything is wrong.” She grabbed his arm and drug him back to the sidewalk, “You’re going to have to learn to act a mortal if you want to see Addy anymore.”
“Teach me everything.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Caliban felt like a mortal after a week of taking Addy on dates and watching ‘dumb football games’ to watch her cheer. He even sat through a movie on a double date with Harvey and Roz. He wanted to question all of the weird mortal things they did but he held back because he needed to be with her.
Addy: I’ve got practice at school till 4:30.
Caliban: I’ll be there at 4:30 then.
Addy: Perfect :)
“Addy you haven’t lost that smile all day, do share who you’re texting.” Lizzie, the cheer captain, asked.
“Um, just a guy. Sabrina knows him.”
“Family friend.” She chimed in, “My Aunts know way too many people.”
“What’s his name?” Lizzie egged on, “Where’s he from? What’s he look like?”
“His name is Caliban, I don’t have a picture of him.”
“He’s from Australia” Sabrina quickly added, “He goes to a boarding school there.”
“He’s tall, tan, jaw line that could cut you, messy blonde-ish hair and he has the best accent.” Addy spat out quickly, immediately regretting it. “Don’t tell him I said that, Brina!”
“My lips are sealed.”
The cheer chatter after practice was noticeable as Addy packed her bag and kept an eye out for Caliban. She looked out the gym doors and didn’t see him, peered down the sidewalk, checked her phone again and then the gym got quiet.
Every Ravenette stopped speaking as the tall, tan, blonde-ish haired guy walked in the doors and towards Addy. “Hi, Sabrina.” He nodded his head to her and she smiled back, seeing him in jeans and a t-shirt was still odd to her.
“Hi” Addy whispered and grinned, putting her backpack on one arm before he grabbed it and tossed it on his shoulder.
“Ready to go?” He stuck out his hand and she grabbed it, walking beside him out the door.
As the gym door closed everyone looked at Sabrina and she glared back, “I get it, he’s cute.”
“He’s more than cute.”
“He looks like a marble statue.”
“A Greek God.”
“I could see his pecks through his t-shirt.”
“He’s not marble, he’s clay.” Roz laughed with Sabrina as they packed their bags, “And he’s not a Greek God, he’s a Demon Prince.”
“So why has your family chosen to reside in Greendale?” Caliban asked, walking Addy towards her house.
“My dad got a job in the next town over. My parents also liked Baxter High better than Riverdale too. Why are you here from Australia?”
He paused, trying to think of the story he and Sabrina had come up with. “I lived with my father, never met my mother. But my father has decided to go on a trip and left me at the boarding school with no place to call home. So the Spellman’s have graciously taken me in for a while.”
“A while? You’re going back to Australia?”
“Not any time soon.” He squeezed her hand, “Definitely not now.”
Addy blushed, holding onto his arm and hiding her face in it, “I’m fine with that.”
More chatting and talking, exchanging of stories and they were at her house. “Um, I would invite you in but my parents are weird about boys so I’m going to.. just…”
“I understand.” He took off her backpack and put it on her arms, “You know, Addyson, you can call me if you ever need anything.” She nodded, trying to keep an eye on her door to make sure her parents weren’t watching. “Anything.” He repeated, feeling the negative energy from the house.
“Anything.” She repeated, backing away from him. He let his hands drop and kept and eye on her until the door was closed. He went around the corner, into a nearby woods and spun himself back to the Spellman’s.
“Just who I was looking for.” He announced as he arrived in the basement where Ambrose was working on a body for the mortuary.
“Caliban you can’t just show up here and scare me, I’ve got a knife in my hand.”
“And the body beneath it is already dead.”
Ambrose huffed, “Well, what do you need?”
“I feel negative energies from a house.” Ambrose gave him an odd look, “There’s a girl, it’s her house, something’s not right. Sabrina doesn’t want me using anything around her or on her. But.. something is wrong.”
“Did you try mind reading or seeing through the walls?”
“Sabrina doesn’t want me to with her.”
“I’m assuming you like this…. mortal girl. That’s why you’re listening to Sabrina.”
Caliban stole the stool from underneath Ambrose and sat on it himself. “I think about her.” He looked around the room, “She’s all I think about, really.”
“That’s called a crush, Caliban. You like the girl?”
“Well, yeah. I carried her bag like Sabrina told me to, I gave her a sweatshirt that I…. stole from you….” He avoided eye contact as Ambrose glared at him, “I willingly go to football games and horrible films at the theater.”
“You’re listening to Sabrina?” He laughed, “You really must like the girl then.”
“I feel it”
“Feel what?”
Caliban stood up and closed his eyes, “The energy, the negative energy.”
Ambrose cleaned off his hand and rest his hand on Caliban’s shoulder; a nervous rush went through him and he felt the negative energy. “You have something of hers?”
Caliban pulled a hair-tie off his wrist from an attempted braid in his hair she had tried earlier. Ambrose touched the other side of it while repeating a spell. His mind warped, showing her view at the current moment.
“She’s hiding… in her room.. it’s dark… yelling… she’s scared… I just hear yelling and.. screams of both a man and woman…” Ambrose took the hair-tie from Caliban, squeezing it in his hands, “So much yelling… she’s….. she’s crying… her phone though.. she’s using her phone… no, she’s just.. she’s holding it.. the yelling will not stop it’s all I can focus on.”
He ripped the hair-tie from Ambrose’s hand and pulled it back on his wrist. “I’m going to her house.” Ambrose chased him up the stairs, “You can’t stop me, I’m going to get her.”
“You’re going nowhere, Caliban.” Sabrina spoke up from the kitchen, chasing him and Ambrose down the hall, “Caliban! Stop!”
He ripped Ambrose’s grip from his arm, “Addyson is in danger right now, even Ambrose knows. If I don’t do anything about it, I will never forgive myself.”
“Give me your phone.” Sabrina begged, grabbing it from him and quickly typing.
Caliban: How’s your night going?
“Give her a second to answer, let her ask for your help.” They all looked at the phone, watching the bubbles pop up as she typed.
Addy: Not the best.
Caliban: Do you need anything?
Addy: I don’t think you can help.
Addy: I’ll be fine.
Addy: Just a bad night.
Caliban: Don’t lie to me, Addyson.
Caliban: Call me.
A few minutes went by that felt like hours as no bubbles popped up in response. “I’m going—
“You’re not going alone.” Ambrose said, following him down the drive way.
“I’m not getting in this mess.” Sabrina tried to stay back but her intuition told her different, “Hold on!”
Within a few seconds Caliban had transferred them from the mortuary to the woods near Addy’s house where they could already hear her dad yelling.
Ambrose mumbled under his breath and they were able to see through the side of the house, “Her father.. is abusive.”
They all watched as Addy’s dad slapped her mom across the face. He yelled at her, called her names, pushed her around until she was on the floor in their living room.
“But where is she?” Caliban took off towards the house, stomping up the hill. Sabrina followed, her phone to her ear, begging Addy to pick up. “Brina I’m going to lift you up to see in the windo—
“Addy, don’t hang up. It’s Sabrina.” She said, freezing Caliban where he stood. “It’s going to sound crazy but I’m outside of your house right now, is there anyway you can get out?”
Addy sat in her closet in silence, tiny cries were heard, “Addy, I know there’s trouble at your house, what window is yours? Can you crawl out—Caliban.. don’t go—Caliban just went in your front door.”
Ambrose kept watch on the side of the house, he spotted Caliban sneak past her parents and down a hall as if he knew where he was going.
“Addy it’s going to sound weird, but please think, talk to Caliban in your mind, say his name in your mind, ask him to help you, all in your head.” Sabrina begged her, “Believe me, I’ll explain it all later, we’re going to take you somewhere safe. Just talk to him, he’ll find—
Caliban opened a door to a plain room with a bed and a single dresser; a familiar cheer outfit sat on the bed. He froze as he heard her voice in his head, ‘help me Cal, I’m in my closet, I’m scared of my dad, I don’t know what to do’.
He searched the room and saw a small sliding door that he quickly pushed open, Addy sat against the wall, her phone to her ear. “He’s here.” She whispered, dropping her phone and standing up to hug him.
“I knew something was wrong, I should have come earlier..” He kissed the top of her head, wrapping his arms around her as tightly as he could. “Are you okay?” Her head nodded against his chest, “Get what you need, quickly, we’re going to go to Sabrina’s.”
As Addy’s hands shook she packed her cheer bag with random clothing, her journal, her school work and a few other necessities. Caliban put it on his back and went to her window, “I’m going to need you to trust me and not question anything right now.”
“Addy!” Her dad’s voice echoed down the hall before he began beating against her door, “Unlock this door!”
She followed his lead and jumped out the window, seeing Sabrina and Ambrose waiting on them. Without talking Caliban hugged her, tucking her head under his arms while Ambrose and Sabrina began chanting as they held hands around them. “Portaci in salvo, portaci in salvo, portaci in salvo…”
In a quick flash they were in Sabrina’s room, Caliban was still holding onto Addy who was still crying and hiding her head in his chest.
“Close call..” Ambrose whispered, excusing himself from the room.
“Brina, can you grab us all some tea?” Caliban asked and Sabrina agreed, going downstairs to put a kettle on.
He couldn’t let go of Addy, he feared what would happen to her if he did, but she was in the Spellman house which was one of the safest places for her to be at the moment.
“Addyson, are you alright?” He pushed her hair from her face and wiped off her cheeks with his own sleeve, “You’re safe now, I promise you that.”
“I’m scared and confused.” She kept hold of the sides of shirt, looking around Sabrina’s room. “What just happened?”
“Greendale is a mysterious place.” He smirked, wiping a tear from her cheek. “Your currently in the Spellman household and the Spellman’s are.. witches, Ambrose is a warlock, I’m… also magical.” Her eyes grew two times in size as she looked up at him, “Not bad witches, good witches. At least in Greendale they are. There’s a lot to learn but please know, you’re safe here. You’re safe with me, you’re always safe with me.”
“How did you know something was wrong?”
“When you gave me a braid today, you left the hair tie. I enchanted it to let me know your feelings. So I knew when things were wrong. Ambrose held it and could see what you were seeing so I went to your house.” He continued to push pieces of hair back from her face, wiping every tear that fell, “Your father…”
“The teachers at my old school were noticing his abuse so my dad turned in for a transfer so we moved..” She broke down crying again, “I just hide, I always hide, I don't know what to do.”
“Don’t cry, don’t, please.” He pulled her to the couch in Sabrina’s room and sat down with her, holding her on his lap. “Calm down, love.”
Her chest continuously heaved as she tried to catch her breath, “Thank… thank you.” He didn’t even respond, he just held her tighter.
Sabrina came up stairs with a tray of mugs, pausing at her doorway as she heard Caliban whispering a spell, rubbing his finger across Addy’s forehead as she fell asleep. “Oblivisci omnes, ad somnum caritate.”
“Sabrina it is well past your bed time. Why are you making tea and why is Caliban in your room?” Zelda spoke, slowly walking around the corner, “Or better yet, why is there a new witch in the house?”
“It’s just my friend Addy, I cheer with her. Her father is abusive and we just… rescued her.”
“Is she a witch? Goblin? Fairy?”
“Nothing that I know of…” She tip-toed in her room and sat down the tray, “Her name is Addyson Camelli.” (pronounced ka-mel-lee)
“Do you know her parent’s names?” Zelda held her hand over Addy’s closed eyes, “She’s at least part something, I don’t—
“The Camelli’s of Triora, Italy” Hilda stepped in the room with a book, "The Salem, Massachusetts of Europe. Many false hangings and accusations.”
“Her father’s name is Dominic and her mother is Marina.” Caliban said, “Did he move them here because he knew of Greendale? He knew.. who was here..”
Hilda sat on the couch next to him and pulled her reading glasses back up to her face, “Addyson’s great grandfather was split from the coven in Italy and the family moved to the states in fear.” She pointed down the page, “Her father and grandfather probably have no clue they are warlock lineage. Married to mortals its split in their DNA.”
“We would have to test her..  or her blood to see where she stands.”
“Not tonight, let her sleep.” Caliban stopped Zelda from pricking Addy’s finger with a pin, “She doesn’t need hurt anymore.”
“On that note, I wrote a note and had it land on Addy’s bed. It just says she’s at my house, needed a break from home, took the stuff she needed and I left my phone number on it. We can all go to sleep and deal with this in the morning.” Sabrina offered, “Ambrose put an enchantment on the house so they can’t find their way to it until we’re awake. Addy can sleep on the couch and I’ll be in my bed. Caliban you can sleep… wait, do you sleep?”
“Once every hundred years or so. I’m just going to watch over her tonight, I’m not letting her out of my site.” He kept his gaze on her, watching her chest breathe in and out. “I can reverse her sleep spell in the morning when we have it all figured out.”
“One drop of blood and I can find out—
“If you do so much as even touch her, I will hurt you.” Caliban glared at Zelda, “She knows you’re witches.”
“And did you happen to mention that you’re a demon?” Zelda spiked back, “You’re on your own explaining that one—
The door slammed open and Ambrose ran in, making everyone in the room jump, “We have a problem…” The room went silent, “Addy’s mother was killed by her father.”
