Guilty Reader Book Tag
Guilty Reader Book Tag #GuiltyReaderBookTag #GuiltyReader #BookTag
I found this tag on Thrice Read’s blog and loved the questions. So here is first weekly tag post. The Questions: 1. Have You Ever Regifted A Book That You’ve Been Given? To be quite honest, I have never been gifted a book. Almost every time I have put books on my Christmas or birthday list, I never receive them. I know that sounds sad, but my mom buys me books all the time. 2. Have you ever said…

Jescelle: a determined person.
Same with Dayan, I have never really talked with Jescelle. Like talk, talk. Just one random moment na matanggal niya ako sa GC dati and that’s about it. After sending out my GM, Jescelle was the second one to respond.
Spontaneous, fast and direct to the point ang naging palitan ng tanong and sagot sa aming dalawa. This time I focused more on asking her on why she wanted to be a substance editor.
I just really want to connect with her and make the conversation more bearable and comfortable as I can. I then asked myself what the best way to connect with someone? I remember our Prof said that we need to start and find what our similar points are.
Balancing studies and all the other endeavors she has in her life. Bawat minuto, mahalaga. Despite this adjustment she really is determined to hold on at kayanin ang workload sa school and activities na rin sa GR.
She’s very determined to keep up and learn more on how to become a substance editor dahil nga, ang pagiging isang substance editor ay isa sa kanyang pangarap sa buhay. Gusto niyang maging editor ng mga akda na ipu-publish in the near future.
Sa ilang buwan naming magkasama bilang interns ni Ate Rayne, isa sa pinaka challenging task ayon sa kanya ay ang one on one communication with us, who’s probably a complete stranger to her up till now. She’s a shy person and she’s having a hard time communicating pero ginawa nya parin dahil naiintindihan nya ang kahalagahan ng communication sa napili naming larangan.
Isa sa mga bagay na napansin ko while interviewing Dayan and Jescelle ay takot o ‘di kaya’y parang laging may mali tuwing sinusubukan nilang gumawa ng akda. As for Jescelle, she pursues editing para matulungan ang sarili niya at malaman ang dapat at hindi dapat gawin sa pagsusulat. And if given a chance, she would write but for now, hindi pa kaya dahil na din sa studies na uuubos sa oras niya.
Despite being very busy with school works, sure na siya na she will stay and continue pursuing substance editing. She manages her time by making a schedule on daily basis. Iniiwasan na rin nya ang pagbababad sa Facebook unless she have to be online for an important stuff. Jescelle is an efficient and an organized person.
Sobrang ikli ng paguusap namin but that was enough for me to know that she will be a great substance editor someday. She have a reminder for her future substance editor self, kayanin mo kahit gusto mo nang sumuko at bumalik na lang sa dati mong buhay.
For the readers she said, find a good book and let yourself learn from it.
And for the writers, kung feeling mo wala ka ng ganang magsulat, magpahinga ka kung yun ang kailangan mo at kapag ayos ka na, unti- untiin mo at wag mong bibiglain ang sarili mong magsulat.
Jescelle,
I learned a lot from you, ang ikli ng usapan natin yes, but I realized that you are doing a good job keeping up with the adulting life, which is something that I am struggling with. Ikaw ang LODI ko ngayon when it comes to managing time and sorting out tasks. I do hope to work with you in the near future. AJA! To a better reading and writing community, Cheers! Best, Wela #GuiltyReads #SubstanceEditing #WriteUpSeries

The struggles of being a teen
Ang unang nag-reply ay si Diahnne, a 17 year old- girl, very positive and mature woman for her age but torn between her adulting and teenage years. She’s learning not to put too much pressure on herself while still giving her best shot on the things that she does. Sa school, sa extracurricular activities at sa life. She’s learning how to love, how to value and take care of herself. She’s unsure if she’s happy but has a clear definition of the word happiness. But, she knows that she’s contented, at least for now. She accepts the things as it is, and makes the most out of it.
Si Diahne o Dayan, like any girl at her age, naguguluhan din siya sa career path na gusto tahakin. Passion vs. Practicality. But what I know is, she’s that kind of girl who thinks ahead of time and really wants to provide for her family.
Nanduon na din siya sa point na she’s happy being independent, yet, sometimes feels like she’s being let alone too much by her parents (at may disclaimer na “may paki naman sila sa akin (parents) pero ano, parang most of the time hinahayaan nila ako ganern hahaha (mabait po parents ko huhu)” . She’s in between adulting and teen age years. The struggle is real, lalo na’t close talaga siya sa kanyang parents. Nevertheless, it’s an adjustment period for her and by the looks of it; she’s doing well with keeping herself together.
She’s at that age where she gets exposed to the harshness of life. She realized that no one really stays, may aalis at may babalik. She realized that at the end of the day, yung sarili niya lang din ang matitira. That change is constant, sa tao, sa happiness at sa mga pangyayari sa buhay.
At since nagtatanungan na rin kaming dalawa, I took the liberty to ask why she joined the program of becoming a substance editor.
“ - Dayan’s thoughts on writing a story.
She has a lot on her plate. A very busy person yet gets to still balance everything out. Like any other person she has her regrets and greatest lesson in life. She said that her biggest regret ay ang hindi niya pagiging showy sa feelings niya. She thinks that she failed to show those persons that she encounter, how much they matter to her. And her greatest lesson was to do the things you do with love. Ibigay ang best shot para there will be no or little regret afterwards. And lastly, pahalagahan ang oras to treasure every moment kasi hindi na mababalik pa. So, sino ba si Dayan? I think that there is no better way of answering this question than Dayan herself.
Dayan, I am so glad to meet you like this. Thank you for spending some of your precious time allowing me to know you more than just as a substance editor. Thank you for openly sharing your personal thoughts and realizations. I know you are in your most overwhelming part of your life, but know that I believe in you. I know even just after our conversation that you’ll do good in life. Kapit lang. Cheers to more productive life and a better literature! Best, Wela
