Also I wanna point out that Grumbot Prime and s7 Grumbot are basically the same guy except more advanced? Considering that Prime is canonically from an alternate universe where, from what we can gather, Mumbo won the elections

If we look at it like that, then, canonically, the Grumbot AI was created years ago by Big Ron who then taught Mumbo how to create it (they're DEFINITELY relatives in some way), then Mumbo created it again together with Grian, who created the body while he did the AI for their presidential campaign

THAT then splits into 2 different timelines where in one they didn't win, but the other they did, creating Grumbot Prime

This whole Grumbot AI has been around for a very, VERY long time, it seems

new hermitcraft ten plot idea: ethubs fanchild. now bear with me on this one. in an attempt to populate the cyberpunk district beyond just armour stands bdubs starts looking into technological answers, because it's a cyberpunk district, so obviously they need to think about robots and the like. naturally he goes to etho, because despite being a redstone master, bdubs needs a little help sometimes, and etho has knowledge of how to do this sort of thing (see: wilson and cooper). it's not feasible to just make multiple robots apropo of nothing, so etho starts off with one that he and bdubs will both take care of. and the name of that robot? grumbot junior

Look, there's not a whole lot for them to do between seasons. And you keep robots in an enclosed space for a little while and... Things happen. Grum and Jr are about the same age as Rosie, and really the worst thing they're doing is the occasional holding hands! Most humanoid love things are gross (bodily fluids? Ewww.) But hand holding they'll steal!

what should i title my tubbo crosses over into hermitcraft fic lmao (i'm gonna post ch 1 this week)

Grian is tinkering with Grumbot Jr’s AI. He doesn’t want another… whatever happened on Empires. The occasional spark of the supposedly dormant portal worries him, Grumbot isn’t from this world, and he doesn’t know what will happen if the portal reopens. Better to be safe than sorry with this one. He can’t lose him like that again.

He’s completely absorbed in his work, having to figure out what wires have crossed where, what the code is telling him, and all without Mumbo, who was the original designer of this AI. He’s jolted out of his concentration when he hears the portal start violently crackling and pulsing, and as he turns to try and see what’s going on, he’s knocked on his back by a strong pulse of the portal’s magic. 

He stands up shakily. It wasn’t nearly as crazy last… His train of thought is interrupted when he spots… He doesn’t know. It’s not someone from Empires, and it’s not a new member of the server; they would’ve had a meeting about this. They’re clutching tightly to what appears to be a baby zombified piglin… in overalls? The adult has ram’s horns, reminding Grian almost of Doc’s. One of them has a golden band on it.

The adult whispers something into the piglin’s ear, and the piglin looks up, directly into Grian’s eyes. The baby whispers back to the adult and suddenly he’s on his feet, the piglin protected behind him. He looks like he’s tried to equip a shield or a bow, but when nothing happens, a panicked look crosses his face. 

Now that he’s got a better view, at least of the ram hybrid, Grian starts to get worried. He looks so young… and he’s completely terrified.

How do you stop hurting?

Grian hesitates, and deletes the message. He’s kind of afraid that this new Grumbot- this ominous and aloof machine, would be on to him. It’s harder now, with less and less way to cope, and more and more things that remind him that his preciouses are left behind (not wiped out, it’s not wiped out), to refrain himself from asking Grumbot these questions.

To be complete honest, though, this machine is what’s left of them. 

He is just...he misses his boys. He misses Mumbo, who seems to fades in and out of the riff, and often gone for a long time. He misses the old time. And he has a slight suspicion that this machine knows, too.

Grian raises his head to stare at Grumbot, observing its every features, from its glowing eyes to its glorious mustache. It’s all so familiar yet not. They need Grumbot to get home, since it was Grumbot who got them on the Empire server in the first place. Not the same Grumbot, sure, but probably with the same power...

About the power, Grian doesn’t know how accurate did he code the machine. Mumbo isn’t here to do it, and Grian can only pray that nothing goes wrong.

Suddenly, Grumbot starts to beep, like it’s processing something.

“...What?” Grian squints.

“Starts Receiving.”

It’s a very mechanical sound. Grian realizes with dread that it was Grumbot.

Grumbot’s eyes starts getting brighter, its mustache trembles. Grian takes a step back- oh no, something just went wrong. Very, very wrong. Maybe he shouldn’t do the redstone and the coding and anything that’s just out of his expertise-

“-End Receiving. Procedure Done.”

A piece of paper pops into Grian’s inventory. He squints at the incredibly messy print.

-[Redacted]! Hi, you are still in hibernation, but I don’t think you would meet me when you wake up, so I just want to say, I got all the messages from the [Redacted]. Also! Don’t worry about us! [Redacted] were rescued by [Redacted], we are in a safe place, and we are doing meaningful things. So go ahead and have a great time in [Redcated]! We want you to be happy, that’s the reason why [Redacted]. Jr-

“What was...” Grian trails off, turning the paper upside down bewilderedly, “what was that!? What is this!?”

First overall, this Grumbot is not supposed to have any audio device. Second, what was this weird message? It seems like all the names are crossed out...and what does “Jr” means? Is it like an abbreviation? Or is it a six? The print is too messy.

Grumbot beeps again. Another paper gets into Grian’s inventory. 

 -put that back into the barrel, you might break the multiverse-

“OOOOkayyyyy.....”

Grian throws the paper into the barrel, shaking his head. It’s okay, when all the hermits done packing their things, they are leaving. This problem wouldn’t last too long for him. Just get home. Everything would be fine.

I was just wondering does Grumbot Jr. from Hermitcraft Count? I am not even sure they even count as an NPC as unlike the other two Grumbots I don’t think they got any lines.

the amount of screen time / lines do not matter! For example, there are several nominations for Sally the Salmon, who was just a throwaway mention of cursed lore. She never even appeared in anything. As long as you think that it is tumblr sexyman worthy, anything goes!
