the “Ingo falls with pokemon, but with a twist” crack au
so you know the whole thing about sailors accidentally introducing a species when traveling (ie rats hide in the food stores, escape, devastate entire ecosystem of whatever unfortunate island the boat landed on)?
Ingo is so used to Emmet's joltik army climbing all over anything and everything that he doesn't even bother trying to remove them from his uniform anymore. which is all fine and dandy, keeps them out of trouble at least.
except then he trips over a brick into a portal one day and whoops!
but remember. these aren't like. normal joltiks. obviously. they're *Emmet's* joltiks. aka all of them are perfect IV hidden ability egg move cross poison spiders ready to throw down at the slightest drop of a hat, able to wrestle wins out of even pokemon considered to be their counters in unova. and suddenly they’re in this new environment that has no idea what they even are, let alone how competitive battling even works.
Hisui never stood a fuckin chance, let's be real.
except meanwhile Ingo is SO used to The Hoarde™ causing chaos that even without his memories his brain doesn't even bother to acknowledge the quickly growing yellow swarm that is steadily and methodically conquering the entirety of Hisui in the background.
the PLA protag meanwhile filling out the dex with like. 600 entries for joltik and also maybe they saw a starly that one time. they dont have to catch a bidoof to get into the survey corps they just gotta remove the bug on cyllene’s desk with a cup. which wasnt even doing anything but no you dont understand. it was sitting there. menacingly.

“"I was busy feeding this spoiled noodle," said Skylor fondly walking past also in her armor with a python draped around her shoulders. "Chelsea knows I'm a sucker for her baby-doll eyes."
Chelsea the python just flicked her tongue and looked both pleased and full of mice as Skylor placed her back down into her tank. After Chen's imprisonment, Skylor had taken over caring for his pet snake, and she seemed much happier under the girl's care as opposed to her father's.”
There’s plenty of jokes in my fics talking about how Luh-Loyd gets so many pets, but let’s not forget I gave Princess Skylor a pet too. This is Chelsea, the ball python. Mob Boss Chen used to own her, but she didn’t like him much. He never took proper care of her.
Tumblr media
Once he got arrested, Skylor adopted Chelsea. Chelsea’s much happier now.

Fields Of Green - Lanfear/Liandrin Guirale Western AU
A/N: Another Western AU for day 2's prompt for @yeehawgust
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Selene had known her life would change once she escaped the home she had hated. She hadn’t expected to be blessed by a demon, however, made immortal and given the power to haunt dreams even as she focuses in on her new life as a cowgirl. She rarely dream-walks, only when she most misses Liandrin, the girl who she knew was the reason her father had sold her off, intending for her to die. Now, known as Lanfear, a haunting presence that made most ranchers, farmers and fathers nervous, she waits. Liandrin’s husband comes out to tend his horses, and she makes her move, killing the man in moments, pushing into the home the man had made for himself and his captive wife. Liandrin, she notes, is still untouched, shuddering and barely dressed, the man’s handprint on her neck showing how hard she had to fight. Now she moves closer, dresses Liandrin in a simple red shirt, her own, pulled from her pack before she came into the home, then dirty grey slacks. They might be imperfect, but for now they will do, they can stop at the next town to dress Liandrin properly, escape away into the fields and find greener pastures. Liandrin settles willingly when she lifts her onto the horse, then mounts, riding away, a second horse in tow. They don’t have time for her to teach Liandrin to ride, not yet, but soon.

Yeehawgust 2024: Greener Pastures
Saddle up, folks! We’ve got greener pastures on the horizon, because it’s time for Yeehawgust’s 6th year this August!
Yeehawgust features daily art prompts as well as alternative weekly prompts, for those of us who are a bit slower on the draw. Don’t draw at all? No problem! Submit any art at all, be it illustration, comics, writing, fanfiction, photography, embroidery, sculpture, music, or whatever other creative endeavors you might enjoy. All skill levels are welcome, and this can be a great opportunity to experiment with new styles and techniques.
Maybe you love media like Red Dead Redemption and Fallout: New Vegas, or classic westerns like The Magnificent Seven. You might enjoy the genre, and you’re looking for a chance to make a cowboy AU and put your OCs in chaps and your blorbos in a Stetson. Heck, maybe you just really want to draw horses. Whatever your reason, you’re welcome to join in, pardner!
Tag your work with #Yeehawgust and follow along here on the Yeehawgust blog. If you include any external links or directly tag another Tumblr user in your post (which may impact search visibility), make sure to also tag this blog or contact the mod directly so your work will get reblogged!
Check out the “Reblogging Policy and Q&A” linked on the blog for more info about Yeehawgust. The event is also Yeehawgust on Twitter, YeehawgustPrompts over on Instagram, and now yeehawgust.bsky.social over on Bluesky... but Tumblr is where we hang our hat at the end of the day.
And remember, y’all: be rootin’, tootin’, shootin’, and most importantly, be kind.

ellie williams one-shot
pairing: ellie x reader
synopsis: you call your ex-girlfriend ellie late one night, needing to hear the sound of her voice.
content warnings: modern au, angst, mentions of break-up, ex-girlfriend!ellie, cheating (both ellie and reader), mentions of a slightly toxic relationship, slight mentions of sexual yearning (nothing graphic or descriptive), one line that implies reader has a vagina but if you do not have one we're gonna say it's just a metaphor or something :), brief description of violence (just ellie wanting to punch an inanimate object but she doesn't), red string of fate trope, no comfort? idk it's up to you to decide, minors do not interact
word count: 1.3k
based on the hinder song "lips of an angel"
Tumblr media
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” Ellie whispers into her phone as she warily peers through the murky glass of the balcony windows into her apartment’s living room.
Her new girlfriend Haru was lounging on the couch, lazily scrolling through different streaming services for something to watch. Ellie had excused herself from the room after her phone suddenly began to ring incessantly with a phone call. She’d muttered hastily that it was Dina and that she should go answer it or she wouldn’t hear the end of it the following day. Haru smiled plainly and told her to go right ahead and to not take too long. She was completely oblivious that it was, in fact, not Dina who kept blowing up Ellie’s phone with call after call. It was you.
“Why are you calling so late? Is everything okay?” She asks quickly and quietly. Her eyebrows furrow when she hears you sniffle.
“I just—I don’t know, I…” You start to stutter.
“Tell me what’s wrong, honey.”
You let out an involuntary sob upon hearing Ellie’s old pet name for you.
“I just… I just needed to hear your voice.”
Despite having been broken up for over a year, Ellie still melts hearing you this.
Tumblr media
It was both shocking and yet expected when you and Ellie had called it quits. It was more than clear to everyone just how in love you were with one another. You were rarely ever seen without each other in public, always attached to the hip. Her presence was almost like an essential part of your body, and to be without her made you feel lacking and unfinished. You were so ardently enamoured with each other that it felt like you’d be blissfully in love for life.
But with the passion came drama and fury, and this ultimately became the downfall of your intense relationship with Ellie Williams. Your ways of expression and articulation were so vastly different from each other’s. She was restless and fervently independent, sometimes far too much for your liking. Her constant need for attention and validation eventually led her to greener pastures, leaving you stuck and alone in the wake of her chaos.
The magical red cord that tied you to Ellie, however, never severed. Even during times that you wished you weren’t, you knew instinctively that you’d always remain connected to each other. Even when you’d both found different partners to attach yourselves to in distraction, her with Haru and you with your new girlfriend Jessica, your pull towards each other never ceased to fail. You never really moved on as you always came back to her and her to you.
Tumblr media
“Is Haru there?” You ask.
“Umm,” Ellie hums, glancing at her girlfriend through the glass that separated them. “Yeah. She’s in the next room.”
“Oh.” You say. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to interrupt or anything.”
“No, no, we’re just hanging out. We weren’t doing anything important.”
You smile slightly at Ellie’s familiar need to reassure you.
“That’s why I kind of have to whisper right now. C-Can’t be too loud.” She continues.
“I see.”
There’s a moment of silence between you two, not awkward but still thick and heavy.
“Everything okay with Jessica?” Ellie suddenly inquires.
“U-umm, y-yeah.” You respond hesitatingly. “Everything’s good. She’s still at work right now. Working a late shift.”
“I see.”
Another moment of silence.
“Does… does she know you’re still talking to me?” Ellie asks.
“No.”
“Won’t that start a fight between you two?”
“Probably.”
“Honey…”
“Does Haru know you’re still talking to me?”
“N-no. Not a clue.”
Another moment of silence.
“I had a dream about you last night.” You murmur.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“What was it about?”
“I-I don’t think I should say.”
“Oh, yeah? Why’s that?”
Even over the phone, Ellie can feel the heat that was rising to your cheeks at her boldness.
“Ellie, come on.”
“Hey, you brought it up.” She whispers with a smirk, trying to ignore the sickly sweetness that came with the way you say her name.
“Whatever.” You sniggle.
Another moment of silence.
“That’s funny, though.” She sighs softly. “I dreamt of you too. Last night.”
“You did?”
“Yeah. I did.”
“What was it about?”
“Hey, you didn’t wanna tell me about your dream. Don’t think it’s fair for you to hear mine.”
“Oh, come on.” You whine at her cheekiness. “That’s not fair.”
“What do you mean it’s not fair? You brought up a dream that you had about me but refused to tell me about it. So you don’t get to know about mine either, angel.”
Fire ignites every inch of your skin upon hearing her whisper yet another old pet name for you. Your favourite one, in fact. And you know that she knows it.
“Mine is… a little too risqué to repeat out loud.” You admit.
“Oh? Risqué, huh?”
“Far too crude to repeat to my ex-girlfriend.”
“A little cruel to tease me like that, angel.”
Ellie feels the flames engulfing your entire body at her tantalizing flirting, grinning slyly and proudly to herself over the way she can still fluster you after all this time.
“I mean,” She continues. “For all you know, my dream may have been a little ‘risqué’ too.”
She hears you gulp heavily.
“Was it?” You whisper.
“I guess you’ll never know.”
Another moment of silence.
“It’s… it’s really good to hear your voice, you know.” She reveals, her voice serious.
“Y-yeah?”
“Yeah.”
“I missed yours.”
“That’s good.”
“Good?”
“Want you to always be missing me, angel.”
“Ellie…”
“Can’t help it. Not if it’s you.”
“I-I know. It’s the same for me too.”
“I know.”
Another moment of silence.
“Why am I always so weak for you?” She whispers, frustrated.
“Because I have a magic pussy and you can’t help yourself.”
“Babe!” Ellie exclaims loudly.
“Yeah?”
Both you and Ellie freeze, knowing neither of you had said that. Ellie whips her head towards the inside of her apartment, spotting her girlfriend Haru still sitting on the couch but now glancing towards her on the balcony. Ellie gazes at her innocent but inquiring expression, feeling deep remorse immediately flooding her senses.
“N-nothing! Never mind!” Ellie calls out from behind the closed glass doors.
“What’s up?” Haru presses.
“I-I’ll ask you later!”
“Oh, alright!” Haru relents, going back to watching some innocuous show on the television. Ellie turns her back to her girlfriend and faces the starry night sky, sighing both in relief and guilt.
“I-I should go.” She murmurs to you.
“Do you have to?”
“Honey, you know I do.”
Ellie’s heart cracks slightly at the sound of more sniffles from your end.
“Why?” You ask stubbornly.
“You know why.” Ellie fights an amused chuckle at your bullheadedness.
“Yeah… I know.”
Another moment of silence.
“I love you, El.” You whisper riskily.
“I… I love you too, angel.” She replies. Your heart breaks at the hesitation in her voice.
“I’ll talk to you later?” You ask desperately.
Another moment of silence.
“M-maybe.”
“Oh. Okay.” Your eyes well up with tears at hearing her unclear promise.
“Bye, angel.” She murmurs.
“Bye, honey.” You whisper.
Three robotic tones signal the end of the phone call.
You immediately break down in more hot tears, your misery and desolation worse than before. You knew it was your choice to reach out to Ellie once more, and you knew and accepted the chances of your heart getting crushed again. But hearing the voice of your ex-girlfriend sweetly whispering for you before returning to her new girlfriend was still an agonizing feeling. You would spend the following nights laying next to Jessica, tossing and turning as you over-analyzed Ellie’s every word and wondering if she still really loved you back.
Little did you know that Ellie was fighting the urge to punch the glass doors of her balcony at that very moment, the feeling of despair and yearning matching that of yours. The red string tugs at her soul once again, cruel and unrelenting and forever refusing to let her forget the sound of her name on your lips.

author’s notes:
wrote this late last night in a drunken stupor after listening to this song in the car with my ex (live-in ex) and my sister after a fun, halloween-y night. i got randomly inspired, it's such a banger. raise your hand if you first hear this song from a remix on dance dance revolution.
don't worry, i am very much writing all the other works y'all have been asking for (i know i keep saying that, but y'all know i'm a crazy perfectionist). i just try to write when i can, and somehow drunken me knew they could write this in basically one go, and since i haven't been publishing much in a while, i thought i'd do it anyway. hope y'all liked it <3
as it always is in all my works, the names in this fic are very intentional, so the name of ellie's new girlfriend “haru” is purposeful. but i shall not disclose the reasoning because heehee
a lot of the exposition and descriptions of ellie’s and reader’s relationship may have been inspired by my co-star chart with someone very specific, shut up don’t judge me
the “magical red chord” i mention is meant to represent the concept of “the red string of fate.” y’all know how much of a slut i am for the soulmate trope.
reader’s new girlfriend jessica is named after this girl i’m kind of seeing, is it crazy yes it is but whatever
the line of "not if it's you" is based on the euripedes quote that anne carson translated
the quote is kind of part of my brand on my personal main tumblr account cause a post of mine went viral with me talking about that quote and people associate it with me so often to this day (literally friends would be sending screenshots of my post that other people uploaded onto twitter or instagram or facebook, it still makes me scream). thought i'd include it for funsies (if this gives you a clue to what my personal tumblr account is and you realize who i am, no you don't <3)
hope y'all enjoyed this spur-of-the-moment fic of mine :) i'm working on publishing the rest of my works sometime soon, so be patient with me please! my life has been awful and not great recently, but writing is my love and my passion and my escape, so i would never abandon y'all <3

Fascinating to watch a fandom tag decay it's like watching whalefall.
The canon content officially burns through the last of fandom goodwill and its dead body starts sinking down to be picked clean for AUs and ships and crossovers until it's so stripped of meat that even those creatures scuttle off to greener pastures, and all you're left with in the end is bones on the pressurized ocean floor, dark and abandoned, save for the lone extremophile "self-insertXcanon character 18+ minors DNI Imagine smut fic drabble" lifeforms which through some amazing feat of evolution can still find something in the sulfur vents and bone marrow to sustain themselves.

swap au where kim has absolutely smothered himself in the accoutrements of cophood, till it's the only identity he remembers. because i think that's his extreme of losing himself, compartmentalizing himself away into work, not addiction and nostalgia like harry. what youth and better time does he have to cling to? it was always shit. it's his neat little role and place and power in the RCM he clings to as a greener pasture, the lesser evil.
harry precedes the story by flinging all his cop gear away from himself and begging to be someone different. kim precedes the story by cocooning himself in his uniform. what does he beg for? 🤔

Ups and Downs

Slight MCU AU (Female Reader X Natasha Romanoff)
Summary: Your neighbor across the hall isn't anything like you thought she'd be.
Word Count: 3.5K
TW: Men, Guns, Violence, Bad Flirting
Tumblr media
Your life has always been a series of ups and downs.
After graduating from university, your life took a turn. Some would say for better. Some would say for worse.
You got the dream job you wanted! But it took you to a brand new country away from everyone you knew.
Your girlfriend, who you planned to propose to, was happy for you! But she wasn't happy enough to stay.
You got a cat! A pet you always wanted! But it turns out it wasn't a stray. It was your neighbor's cat who loved to wander the streets.
So yeah. These last six months haven't been your brightest time. But you tried to be a glass-half-empty person: greener pastures and all that jazz.
So when your neighbor with the whore of a cat moved out, you were determined to become friends with whoever moved in.
Oh yeah, you also needed friends...
So the day you were walking up the stairs to your apartment and, a redhead you've never seen before whizzed by you. You got excited! But before you could even open your mouth, they were gone.
Okay. They're speedy, you noted. You'll catch 'em next time.
Except you didn't. Because unbeknownst to you, the redhead didn't just get home late. They got back home past 4 in the morning. Hair flowing in different directions. Her leather jacket scuffed up as if she was in a bar fight. The bruises on her face would give that impression, too. Plus, she was quiet.
So quiet that you failed to notice that the redhead had been living in her new home for three days prior.
She would roll her eyes at that word. Home. Sure, the apartment was very nice. Had all the parts she needed. But she didn't care where she was stashed as long as she got the job done. Plus, home wasn't a word for her. It never existed in her eyes.
Well, maybe once, but.. never mind.
"Clint, I got the intel, but I'm gonna need a few more days." Your neighbor spoke into her flip phone with such conviction. "Look, the guys I'm tracking can lead to something bigger. Just give me a few more days. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'll be waiting for his call." She threw her phone down onto the round wooden dining room table before bending back into the uncomfortable chair.
She knew she should get up. Go take a hot shower. Bandage up her knuckles and tend to her bruises. But with each blink happening in rapid succession. The redhead fell asleep while sitting upright in a chair that her back would curse for years to come.
Across the hall, hours later, you had already gone on your Saturday walk, had your breakfast, showered, and not so subtly waited for any signs of life coming from the woman you saw once. Was it weird? Maybe. Maybe yes. But even you would admit you were desperate for a friend. Or anybody who wasn't stuck in a screen when you wanted to talk. Plus, she was pretty. Or so you think. She had a cap on and dark glasses when you saw her yesterday, but her jacket looked incredible, and she had cute pink lips.
Not that you noticed!!
So, with it creeping closer to early afternoon, you decided to take the initiative. Standing here in front of her door, you were about to knock when a voice stopped you. "Excuse me." Turning to your right, you were met with a tall, broad, shouldered man. Black hair. Dressed in black. The vibe you were feeling wasn't right. Back in the States, you would guess he worked for the mob. "Yes?" You asked, looking him up and down.
"Sorry to bother you. But I'm having trouble finding my friend. She says she lives in this building, but I can't seem to find her. About this tall." He raises his hands just past your head. "Red hair." Oh shit. "She has a if looks could kill kinda attitude as well." He forces out a chuckle you know to be fake. But you fake laugh with him. Afraid of what will happen if he knows you've seen her or if he finds her.
"Wow, she sounds like quite the character. But no, I'm sorry, I haven't seen anyone like that here." You lie through your teeth. Something you don't like to do, but you're just hoping he doesn't notice. "Oh really?" The man's face turns from a fake smile to a fake frown. "Yeah, I'm really sorry." You shrug. You think that'll be it too. Thinking the man will leave with a simple no, I don't know her. But he's a man. They take no for an answer.
"Are you sure? Because I thought maybe this was her place?" He points to the door you're both in front of. You look from his eyes to the door. Shit. Think! "Oh no." You shake your head. "I mean, unless your friend turned into an old woman with a tabby cat who has a knack for playing gin rummy every Tuesday night, then I don't think so. The woman plays cards, not that cat! Although maybe we could teach him-"
"Okay, sorry to bother you." Without another question or look from the man, he turns his back to you and starts walking down the stairs. Frustrated with the answer you gave. Quietly, you move closer to the banister as he descends, hoping he'll prove his real intentions for being here. To your surprise, he does when he reaches the bottom floor.
"Yeah, I checked. She's not here, but..." His voice fades out as you faintly hear the doors to your building open and close. Turning around now, you have a different mindset about the woman across the hall. Before, you were simply going to ask if they had any allergies you needed to know about. Because you planned on making them homemade bread. Banana, to be specific. Well, if she could eat it. But now that was the last thing on your mind. When you looked at the door now, you can't help but feel bad for how much trouble she seems to be in. Taking a few steps closer, you ready yourself to knock on it again. Hoping to find answers.
"Okay, knock in 3..2..." Before you can even process 1, the door opens, and you get pulled into the room with a force you've never felt. Firm hands grip themselves to your arm before turning your body around in a flash so they have a hold around your waist. Keeping your face away from seeing them. You feel her body against yours, quickly short-circuiting your brain before the loud slam of the front door snaps you out of your thoughts.
Scanning the room around as quickly as possible while your neighbor holds you tight from moving, you see things you've never seen before. Files spread across the room in another language—a sniper positioned in the window and lots and lots of spy stuff.
Shit. Shit! This woman was dangerous.
"кто ты?" (Who are you?) The same woman barks, making your eyes go wide at the foreign language used and how lovely her raspy voice sounds. "кто ты!?" She barks again before pushing the backs of your knees out from under you so you fall to the floor. Arms pinned behind you. Fuck that's really going to hurt tomorrow, you think. Wait, if there is a tomorrow!
You rack your brain, trying to think of what she could be saying and what proper response would be beneficial for this particular moment, but your mind keeps getting distracted as the roaming hands of the woman keep touching you.
The redhead above you didn't get a good look before pulling you in, or she would see that there is no way you could be a threat. "Šíření!" (Spread!) She tries a different language, Czech, to be exact. Yet you still don't know it. You don't know any other language aside from English and the little bit of Hungarian you've been learning since you moved.
So her order for you to spread goes right over your head. Maybe if she asked nicely in English, you've complied...
"Oh my god, what are you doing?" You ask as the grip tightens around your wrists and the feeling of her fingers slides along your thighs. But you get nothing in return, only frustrated grunts from the woman holding you down, finding nothing on your person.
"Please, I'm sorry. Just let me go, and I'll pretend I didn't see anything or that I didn't enjoy-"
"Shut up!" Finally! English! She speaks it! "Ow! Fuck! You speak English?!"
"Who are you? What do you want?" Her fingers run through your hair, digging into your scalp before she grabs hold and lifts your head up. "Answer me!"
Remember what I said? Ups and downs.
"I'm sorry. Shit. I- I'm just your neighbor from across the h-hall.. fuck.." The small moan that escaped your mouth could've been mistaken for a groan of pain caused by the redhead.
But Natasha Romanoff knew better.
She knew exactly what that noise that left your mouth meant. Which also confirmed what she was thinking. You weren't a threat.
She loosened her grip on your hair but kept tight around your wrists. "Name? Give me a name." Her tone is softer and not as harsh.
"Mine?" You asked, confused by the whole situation. "Obviously." The spy rolled her eyes but had to hide the smirk, forcing its way onto her mouth.
"Y/N Y/L/N!" You answered honestly. Natasha could tell it was honest, too. Your rapid pulse she had her fingers pressed against didn't waver anymore than it already had by the older woman being on top of you. "And no one sent you?"
She began to loosen the grip she had on you as a whole.
"What?! No one sent me to check up on my neighbor. But Goddamn, this is the last time I'll do that." Natasha thought for a minute as your breathing began to calm down. "KGB? Hydra? MI6? Ring any bells?"
"No, I swear." Natasha thinks again. "Okay." Her voice goes back to a normal volume. One you find delightful even in this particular situation. "I'm going to let you go. Don't do anything stupid." She warns with a smile.
"Okay. I'll try not to." You say knowing you were prone to have stupid things happen to you. "Just please don't hurt me." You mumbled, but Natasha doesn't respond. Instead, she lifts herself off your body, removes her hand from your hair, and lets go of your wrist, which will completely have bruises tomorrow.
Once you feel the air touch your skin again, you crawl a few feet away before turning over.
You like to think that the first thing you laid your eyes on was the redheads apologetic smile, but it wasn't. It was her green eyes. You swear you had never seen anything more beautiful until you looked down the rest of her body. "You're beautiful." You let slip. Surprising the woman staring back at you.
Except she wasn't stupid. Instead of opening her mouth, Natasha kept those those words on the inside.
You're beautiful.
"Oh my God, ignore that. I'm sorry! Does that count as a stupid thing?!" You panicked, only earning a tight smirk from the redhead. "I'll let that one slide." She gets up and walks past you. Leaving you on the floor. "Besides, you're not so bad yourself."
You're brain short circuits for the second time in the last five minutes. Pretty spy dangerous lady called me beautiful?! You couldn't muster any more thoughts, so instead, you turn your gaze to the woman, watching her as she starts packing up. "What are you doing?"
"Packing."
"Why you just got here? Plus, what was that whole thing? Attacking me? Hello?" Natasha stops packing and looks at you. "No one is supposed to know I'm here. Within three days, I've been comprised by my neighbor from across the hall. I can't take the risk." Natasha says point blank while effortlessly avoiding your other questions.
You're not sure how to respond to that. But you know that you should probably get up off the floor. So you do that as the woman goes back to packing. She starts with clothes before moving on to guns. Lots of guns. "Whoa."
You take in all that you're seeing. "Who are you..." You felt the need to ask the unaskable question. "A person you shouldn't try and fuck with." She answers without any sense that she's joking until she winks at you.
Oh, you wanted to moan all over again.
"Should I leave?" You say to disrupt her and the growing silence. "Not yet. I still need answers from you. And to make sure that if you're ever asked. You never saw me." You nod, following along to her words. "Okay." You take a step forward, thinking it'd be a stupid thing to take a step back towards the door.
"Good." She says before dialing someone with a phone, you haven't seen in years. "Go secure. I need a cross reference on the person occupying the apartment across the hall from me. Give me everything. Bank records. Death certificates. Occupation. Everything. You have five." She flips the phone closed and sets it down before her eyes lock on you.
"I need you to sit in this chair for me." She pulls out the chair directly in front of her and her belongings. You would typically agree what, given the situation and the sight of her left hand on the grip of a pistol. But instead: "No."
"What did I say about doing something stupid." The woman groans, making you smile. Just a little over the tiny amount of control you have at the moment. "I'm not sitting on the chair until you give me your name. And the reason."
"You do realize I'm the one holding the gun, right?" You nod. Terrified of guns, but you nod as she waves it in front of you. "I do. But you're not going to shoot me or anything because, from what I just heard. You're waiting on your friend to see if I'm telling the truth, but I have no reason to lie to you."
Natasha couldn't believe what she just heard out of the mouth of that sweet little face. Here's the kicker. You're right. Natasha honestly hates that you have the upper hand at the moment, but Natasha's the Black Widow. She can flip the script as easy as one.. two.. "Please. Be a good girl and get in the chair."
You've never sat in a chair so fast in your life.
In fact, the second your butt hit the wood, you were mentally cursing your legs for betraying you. "How did you do that?!" You looked to her green eyes for an answer, but you both knew. "Alright, fine. Can I at least get a name?" You huffed as she gently handcuffed your hand to hers.
"Natalie." She replied as if that was her real name. But you took it for face value, even throwing Natasha a "thank you."
"What's that?" You asked, pointing at a pile of small silver discs. "Oh, don't touch those." She quickly moves them away from your reach. "They'll electrically shock you and leave you incapacitated." Okay. Good to know. "No touch, got it." You dryly chuckled, earning one from the woman who had no issues being handcuffed to you.
"How many languages do you speak?" You figured if you're going to be waiting, you might as well get to know Natalie. "Do you want to guess?" She smirks at you as she puts away her laptop. "Ummm, five?" You look up for an answer but only receive a shake of the head. "More than five?"
"More than 10, dear."
10?! Dear!?!
"Wow." You mutter. "What about you?" Natasha feels the need to ask. Plus, she wants to know more about the young woman she's handcuffed to. "I'm sure you'll find out when your friend calls back."
"Yeah, but I want to hear it from you." You look up to see her already smiling at you, forcing a shade of pink to sneak onto your cheeks. "Umm, it's not nearly as impressive. But one." You meekly answer, earning a chuckle from Natalie. "You're right.. that's not nearly as impressive."
"Hey!" You groan and whine. "It's two on a good day if I can understand what the vendor down the street says. It's not easy learning Hungarian."
Natasha nods. "You're right. It's not easy. But you picked the perfect city to learn it." You have to agree with her.
"You're right. Budapest is wonderful."
"Budapesht." Natasha can't help but correct you. "Huh?" You look to her, who looks down on you like an English teacher. "Budapesht." She repeats. "That's how you should pronounce it." You shake your head "No. It's Budapest. Your way is wrong."
"No, my way is right. It's Budapesht. You just don't know any better." You scoff, which Natasha takes as a sign to go on the attack. "Oh really?!" She starts. "I'm sorry, but who in the room is the world-class spy, and who is the.. the.. the whatever it is you do!?" She looks at you, who stutters for a moment.
"That's what I thought."
You go to fight back. Which frankly is an unwise move, but you're thankfully interrupted by the sound of the flip phone ringing.
Natasha answers it with urgency. "Clint, you're on speaker; which is it, Budapest or Budapesht??"
"Oh God no. Please stop this. Take me off speaker."
You watch Natalie roll her eyes as she takes the man, Clint, off of speaker. "Okay, shoot your arrow. What have you got for me." Natasha yanks on the handcuff, pulling you to make you look up at her. She holds a finger to her lips with a look in her eyes that you read as "Don't be stupid."
You not as she sets the phone down in the middle of the table on speaker.
"Okay, so Y/N Y/L/N. Born in California. Yadda yadda. Excellent student. Blah, blah, blah. University. Bank is in the green. No sign of trouble. Oh. Is the daughter of two former shield scientists before they lost their lives in a fire. Not Ohio. No Hydra connections either."
Clint quickly adds, confusing you.
What's shield?
"Relationships, let's see... looks like her most recent ex is one Gewn Stacy, and before that it was... Kate Bishop. The second one sounds familiar... Anyways, occupation.. occupation.. Stark Industries. Relocated to where she currently is. Moved into the apartment across from you six months ago. Isn't one to cause trouble. No arrest records or complaints of any kind. I can't find anything else on her. She's clean. Looks like you got a golden retriever living across from you, Nat."
The man finishes up before Natalie or Nat picks the phone up. "Okay, thanks, Clint. Yeah, no, I'm sure she won't be any trouble." Nat looks at you with a smirk, making you shift in your seat.
"Yep. Uh-huh. No. Could you not mention it to Fury? I got it. Okay. No, it's Budapesht. Bye." She clicks the phone shut and looks at you with a smile before laughing. "What?" You ask as you start to smile. "Nothing." She says before she controls her laughter. "No, come on. What!" You plead as Natalie picks up the key to the handcuffs. "It's just... I attacked you earlier because I thought you were dangerous, and here I have handcuffed to me is the most prett- perfect, sweetest person ever, apparently." The pink hue on Nat's cheeks gets missed by you.
You laugh at Natalie's explanation as the cuff slips from your wrist. "Well, I must be scary a little bit. Plus, I think I'm really good at lying!" You fess up. "Not to me, you're not," Nat calls you out. "And you're not scary." She picks up her bag and moves it to the counter to pack her suit.
Now it's your turn to roll your eyes. "Well, I have to be good at one of those things." You say as you get up and follow her around the kitchen and into the living room. "Why is that?" Nat is curious as to what you're answer could be.
"Well, how else would I have gotten rid of that guy earlier?!"
Natasha wasn't expecting that. "What guy?" She turns to you with a stern, calculating look. "Th-the guy. Tall. He was outside your door. Asking about you. I sent him away." Natasha shakes her head and rubs to her bag, grabbing two pistols. "How long ago?"
"What?" You question. Nat runs past you. "How long ago was the guy here?"
"I-uh.." Since Nat's hands and sweet voice were all over and around your body, you truly lost any concept of time.
Nat ignored your non-answer as she looks out the window where her sniper is positioned before turning to you with a worried look.
"Y/N GET DOWN!"
Yeah, there will be a pt2 in the future.

strange au thought i had.
so what if au where all the events of the first two games, udg, and the anime happened right? but while the rest of the world has made huge advancements in healing from the apocalypse and is mostly back on it's feet, Towa city is still really rough. Thanks to having been the center of operations it's struggling alot more to get back on it's feet and is curently severly crime riddled and run down.
despite this there are infact people living there, but due to the shittiness of the place it's more like a pirson than a city, and any efforts to get out and find greener pasture are akin to crabs in a bucket. enter the V3 cast, who all live in this shithole city. they aren't ultimates in this au, and actually i think it'd be better if HPA shut down post apocalypse.
there's alot of stories you could tell with this setup, but this is the saiouma channel so i got thoughts for them.
for Shuichi i imagine he became a detective in this au- not out of enjoyment of the work- but because his uncle's agency is constantly swampped with cases because of the absurd amount of crime in Towa, and Shuichi felt the need to try and help lesses the load. he often ends up dealing with the petty criminals while his uncle gets hired on for the more dangerous cases.
Kokichi and DICE are one of the many gangs that roam Towa's streets, their one defining trait outside of their iconic gitups is the fact that they have no killings on their reccord. despite the insanity of the city Kokichi keeps his rule about no killing, at worst having to resort to non lethal harm like shattering bones with bullets to get what they need to done without loosing rep and getting targeted more by other gangs.
because DICE is primarily a petty crime gang with only a few turf skirmishes and broken bones on their reccord, Shuichi often ends up the one dealing with them. this of course resulting in some prime saiouma cat and mouse conditions.
i have more thoughts on this au but their not importaint for the prompt, so i'll stop yammering here

Sure thing
Tumblr media
However, just when the Ninja Force started to make their excuses to reach the meeting place to be picked up by Morro, their phones buzzed.
Pulling them out, they were all shocked to see a slightly blurry picture of Lord Garmadon walking with his back to the camera and a 'Kick Me' sign written in black ink taped to his back.
'Mission Accomplished,' Cole texted all of them.
The picture’s not as blurry as I wanted it to be, but you get the idea. You can’t tell from Cole’s selfie, but he’s wearing an eyepatch and a moustache to disguise himself out of frame.
As for Bigfoot.
Tumblr media
Chen reached down for something out of the screen, and four pictures flashed onto the monitor. One of Luh-Loyd in his kabuki outfit, one of the Fuchsia Ninja, one of Zane, and one of a tall, dark, and very blurry figure that appeared to be doing the classic Big Foot pose as it walked away from several knocked-out guards.
"However, it also seems we have two uninvited guests on the island," said Chen as the pictures of Luh-Loyd and the dark figure were now the ones highlighted. "This little minx in a kimono was posing as my staff and aided the Fuchsia Ninja in his crimes. As for the other one, we don't know who he is just yet, but as you can see from the picture he's been giving my men nothing but trouble."
THIS one I was able to blur how I liked it to. Here’s how it would look in the story (I forgot to add the downed guards, sorry, just pretend they’re behind the rocks). And here’s how it looks unblurred.

Opera House AU Roles
Okay, so I keep getting asks about this AU, so here's the roles each of the chain/princesses would take in the opera house
Lullaby: Director and owner
She started the opera house and runs it like the leaky ship it is. They make good money and do good work, but every work is like a piece of embroidery; pretty from the front, but when you look at the back....
Time: Blocking Director
Lullaby runs most things, but Time is the person who runs everyone through choreography and plans how to enact things on the stage. He's Lullaby's partner, but that doesn't mean they agree on everything.
Malon: Voice Teacher
Time hired her when Twilight joined, because he really wanted to help this kid get back on his feet, but working in the house means you need to be able to sing, if only for back-vocals. She occasionally helps out backstage and will fill in roles if needed, but she's not officially part of the company. Yet. Lullaby is trying to recruit her, but Malon kinda loves working for the music school that hired her out.
Twilight: Actor and stagehand
His preferred work is backstage, helping move props and scenery quickly between scenes, and he's good at it. Sometimes though, they need someone to fill various roles and he gets slapped in there. Luckily, he can avoid most singing roles, and his main thing is action.
Sky: Actor
Sky is the best stuntman in the whole cast, but not as good an actor. He's good at both, but action is far better than line delivery. He's most often called on to play antagonistic roles as a result, since his skills in fight scenes actually leave the audience worried he will destroy their hero. Many people are surprised to find out he's such a great guy off stage.
Fi: Sky's fencing instructor
She neither works for the opera house, nor at it, if she can help it. She comes over from time to time to work with Sky though, and if he asks, she might help some of the others. Time is her former protege, but they have beef between them for some reason so he doesn't like having her around. She loves the kids though, in her own way, Legend and Wind specifically.
Warriors: The Diva
He picked up something of a following in high-school and college, and when he came to the opera house, needing work, he basically brought his fans with. His is the headline name they use to draw crowds in most times, so more often then not he's the male lead in most plays. Surprisingly though, he's pretty decent about it, and while Legend and Twilight may say otherwise, his ego is properly held in check. He's a great singer and performer, and second best to Sky in action related things.
Artemis: Diva No. 2
Warriors pulled a few strings to get his ex-girlfriend from college a role when Lullaby was short some actors. Her chemistry with Wars on stage has quickly made her a fan favorite, and her own performing sealed the deal. She and Wars have a good relationship for being ex-college-sweethearts. Both of them were already up and coming stars before coming to the opera house, and it's still a bit of a shock to folks that they haven't left for greener pastures, but they're attached dang it.
Dusk: Singer & Dive No. 3
While her acting skills are less varied than Warriors and Artemis, her voice is far superior to either, which more than compensates for her lack of versatility in roles. She's the last piece of the Diva Trio, and her most common roles are either villainesses, powerful women and mothers (ironically). She's not as close with the rest of the crew as they are with each other, but she's new yet, and has only been with the company for a year. Her bond with Wars and Arty is pretty strong though, because they won't let her sit alone, and have pushed down the walls a bit.
Sun: Starlet
Sun is one of the up and coming performers. She's not nearly as big a name as the Diva Trio, but she does pretty well and her voice is to die for. She and Sky both study under Fi, and so she's pretty good with stunts, although not as great as Sky (yet). She's also a decent hand at needlework, so she's something of an emergency seamstress when a seam is popped or some such.
Fable: Actress
Not as present in the team as she'd like, due to her somewhat overprotective guardians, Fable is a skilled actress who Artemis is convinced will one day follow in her footsteps to become a radiant star. The only thing stopping her from gaining a big name in the industry is the aforementioned guardians, who love her, but again, worry endlessly. She joined by the suggestion of her old classmate, Flora, and to this day remains the only person who can reliably tame their wild child.
Legend: Jack-of-all-Trades
His official job is non-existant. He's been here since he was a literal infant (Twilight couldn't get a sitter) and it shows. He's picked up just about everything there is to know about the opera house, and never got formally hired (although he is paid). He's the go-to guy for just about anything and everything. He takes acting roles, particularly those more dance or trick related, as he's the only guy who actually knows genuine acrobatics and most forms of dance, and because he's young, he can take literally any role, even that of females. Most of the time though, he's backstage with a tool-belt of everything possible, fixing last minute costume, make-up, or set issues. He also tends to pick up strays.
Ravio: Prop Manager
Ravio's job is to construct and make sure props are where they should be at all times. He and Legend work hand in hand on most things, mostly because Legend originally was prop-manager (of sorts) before he got Ravio into the opera house. Ravio is one of "Legend's strays" as the boys ran into each other shortly after Leg came back from abroad, and the Lorulian was desperately searching for a room-mate. Legend helped him get a job better than where he was (pawn shop) and Ravio feels utterly indebted to him, and makes sure Leg knows it.
Styla: Costume manager
While Legend helps out in costume, it's actually Styla's domain. She's skillful in her work and quick to make unfortunate mistakes and pieces turn out surprisingly well. She's blessed with good speaking skills and copious charm, so she sometimes take on roles on stage, but she can't sing any more than Twilight can. She does not want lessons. Ravio and Legend are desperately trying to make her take them anyway; they work closely with her as a trio of their own, and much as they love her, she gives them headaches.
Hyrule: Assistant jack-of-all-trades
Another of Legend's strays, Hyrule, like so many others, is a fresh-out-of-foster street kid. He saved Legend's life by chance, and Leg determined to pay him back by getting him a job as a stage hand at the opera house, and a room in the living quarters there. Lullaby is used to the pinkette, so she didn't object, but everyone's glad Hyrule joined because he's absolutely amazing. What he lacks in natural talent, he makes up for in hard work and a quick mind. Warriors is certain Hyrule could make a killer performer, but with his lack of confidence it's slow going. The diva is utterly intent on taking Rule under his wing though and teaching him little by little. Ravio and Legend do not appreciate Wars stealing their assistant though.
Wind: Gofer
Wind is Warriors' kid cousin. Freshly in Hyrule from overseas, he's working at the opera house after school. He's pretty close with the other stage crew, and a huge reason Hyrule didn't get scared off in the first week. This kid is the most in touch with reality out of most of the crew, and acts as a buffer from their insanity to any newcomers. He tends to run and fetch for the most part, but at times has been known to also help craft the sets with Legend. They are artists and they do shit talk everyone while they do it.
Four: Special Effects
You know that one tech-nerd with too much coffee in their system, not enough sleep and perpetually frazzled hair? That's Four. Four handles lights, sound, special effects and all things mechanical. Everything's always on the fritz, so he is too. He does enjoy acting, but he gets anxiety about letting anyone else run his job, so he tends to avoid taking roles unless he's 110% sure Flora can handle without him.
Flora: Assistant Light Technition
Officially, she works lights, unofficially, she's Four's assistant. This girl was bred for the stage and avoids it like the plague. Her family is famous for acting but she's content to play lights and sounds crew with Four, and no one has seen her happier. She joined by her parents insistence, as an actress and learning under Wars and Arty, but one show gone wrong had her throwing herself in to help Four just in time and he's considered her irreplaceable since. She has no interest in going back on stage and no one makes her.
Groose: Tech Assistant
Working with the backstage crew, Grooise's official job title is technical assistance, but even he will joke that he's actually just a glorified ladder. He, like the others, acts on occasion, although his real passion lies in planning out the more difficult mechanics required to pull off certain effects and stunts. He essentially bridges the gap between the costume and props department and the special effects team.
Robbie and Purah: IT
This insane duo are known as "the basement dwellers" or "the witches" to most of the team. They're technically on payroll, but rarely seen. Purah is something like the last resort when Groose & Co. can't figure stuff out, and Robbie is her somewhat reluctant assistant. They emerge on occasion with all sorts of crazy ideas and items, and are some of Legend and Wild's favorite people in the crew because they never fail to provide the prop master and prop breaker with cool new toys.
Wild: Actor and Stuntman
Where Sky is their swordsman and Legend their acrobat, Wild is the guy who will pull all the stunts the others won't. He's still in uni at the moment, but his acting skills are to die for, as he can manage the stoic and dashing hero or the playful jester types with equal skill and believablity. He is, however, a risk to props and costumes in general, so he and and the prop/costume team don't always get along well and they're often dubious about letting him take key roles with key costumes/props as a result.
Linkle: Effects
Four and Flora officially work special effects, but occasionally call in Warriors' twin sister for some specialty stuff. No one knows what she does normally (except Warriors) and they're all a bit too scared to ask
Dawn: Secretary
Lullaby's a busy woman, so she hired Dawn to help her with some of the office work. Generally speaking, Dawn stays in the office and her only contact with the cast and crew is to handle complaints and any official work. She is, however, fantastically talented on the piano, something Lullaby and Time both encourage her to pursue. She plays the grande they have in house on her breaks, and occasionally in shows. She croaks like a frog when she sings though, end even Malon can't seem to help her with that.
Aurora: Front of House
Aurora works the ticket collections and generally minds front of house. Her warmth and eccentric attitude help add to the magic of the opera house and enchant the guests.
Dot: Think Tank
While a capable actress when called on, Dot's skill lies with the pen, and while the opera tends to preform classics as their main attractions, Dot does see that they have an abundance of new content for their smaller shows. She also acts as the outreach to the community to open the opera house to the public for use in community events. She and Dawn work pretty closely.
Dei: Trainer
Time's mentor after Fi, he's a bit of a hard ass and tends not to get involved in his protege's work. He is, however, currently training Warriors, so he is around from time to time to help the diva with his work. Time and he remain somewhat cordial, but there is some tension there, although not as bad as with Fi.
And while I know people are counting through and going "what about Tetra?", I am going to point out that Tetra wouldn't be caught dead working in the opera. She comes to support (and heckle) anything Wind is in, but generally stays out of the building otherwise, at least while the cast and crew are actually there.
And that covers it! At least for the time being.
If y'all have any further questions or thoughts, or character I may have missed, feel free to share them!

FNAF Sun/Moon x Reader MerMay Fics
MerMay DCA x yn fic list
With Mermay coming to a close I decide to make a list of all the fun fish filled fics I have found so far. Remember to look at the tags and read at your own discretion.
Call of the Abyss by Buligete

It was probably all very silly, considering the precarious situation I found myself in, but it really was all I could think about.
Could you really blame me? I never expected to find myself in this kind of a mess. I was not some big shot, thrill seeking space explorer. I was no seasoned freight worker. No avid alien world survivalist. Not even a simple cruise liner flight attendant.
I was a gardener. My feet belonged firmly planted in the soil of a garden world. I had spent my entire life up to now solidly anchored on Earth, and never dreaming of leaving the safety of gravity and atmosphere, despite the increasingly uncomfortable quality of life on the crowded homeworld. Sure, I dreamed of greener pastures. Of fresh air and fertile land. But frontier life and adventures in the big expanse of space? Not quite.

A FNAF x Subnautica crossover, about the challenges of survival, surprise friendships with quirky software and alien merfolk, man made horrors beyond our comprehension and unexpected mysteries to be uncovered within the depths.

You aren't what people would call friendly. No. You're not even polite. Much like the salty old sailor who raised you, you're short-tempered and not too social. And that's how you like it.
One day, a dirty-rotten fish steals something important to you. You know better than to tangle with a creature so large and dangerous. But you have little to lose and, by the gods, you're not about to let that smug fish keep what's yours.
Dive into this chaotic tale of merciless mers and our hot-headed protag who has to wrangle them!
Growing Pains by Celticwolfie
archiveofourown.org/works/46891666/chapters/118117984
It was going to be a normal fishing trip. Just a normal hike to the secluded river beach and maybe relax while listening to the forest waking up around you. However, that isn't how things go for you and now you managed to gain the attention of a legendary creature. Now everything seems to be turned on its head. Hopefully, you can adapt to it quickly enough and help these living legends out as their world is starting to shrink around them.

You used to be powerful. Feared. Vicious. A man-killer. You were one of the most fearsome myths in the sea.
Then, despite everything, you were caught. Stolen from the depths of your home. Your older siblings had always cautioned against going too close to the surface. You wished you'd listened. Captured, placed into barely big enough tanks, traded between rich bastards and unethical scientists. Losing weight, power, sanity, you're beginning to give up, when a mysterious 4 armed... Person (?) comes by.
Who is this metal man, and why is he so interested in you?
My Lungs are Full of You by Xmimi89eR

You didn't like the ocean.
The water felt like it would burn (and it does). Your lungs would give out sooner than others and you didn't even know how to swim!
You never asked for this trip, never asked to be here. Yet, here you are, stuck all alone and waiting for rescue that probably would never come.
Or, well, not really alone. The burning gaze of something in the water wouldn't leave you alone.
There Are Many Benefits (To Rethinking This Career Path)  by moonliched

Life is cushy, working on a subterranean research facility on an underexplored ocean planet. As the resident handyman, most of your work takes place underwater - lucky for you, cave diving is your passion. With the building between bi-annual research teams, and the next lot yet to arrive, you find yourself with an excess of free time. All you have to do is fulfil your weekly duties, prepare the facility for the next team of researchers, and relax. Oh, and track down the net that went missing some time ago.
And then you find it.
In a submerged cave.
Trapping a mermaid.
You really wish this wasn't your responsibility.
(Moon thinks he should have listened to Sun and stuck to hunting in warmer waters. Why does this bizarre two-tailed mermaid keep coming at him with sharp instruments?)

Special thank you to Bug, who puts up with me, and Tobi(@Glambots on Tumblr)-This was originally a short story written in their ask box. While the first chapter will be short, they will get longer, just so you know what you're getting into. ;) Please also remember that I’m still learning and this is my first time posting on Ao3 specifically. I apologize in advance for any formatting issues.
Also warnings for this chapter and future chapters of thalassophobia, megalohydrothalassophobia, ososphobia, injury, body horror, animal death, offscreen minor character death, and something at bare minimum reminiscent of drugging. While these may be removed during the editing process as it currently stands these will apply at some point.

But who would’ve guessed Mers existed?

A little waterlily mer guppy is trapped, home destroyed, and taken to a pet store to be sold. After spending some time living in a fish bowl, our little guppy is saved and moved to a tank that has been dubbed the daycare by the human tending to it. The daycare tank is set up to rehabilitate fish before they are released back into their natural habitats. There our guppy meets Sun and Moon, two fish that live full time in this tank taking care their healing guests.
Sun and Moon and our guppy fall in love and then shit goes down.

Movement. A mer swims overhead, speaking to someone, blocking out the starlight. The interloper lays a hand on the rim of the entrance but doesn’t look down just yet, and doesn’t see you, red-handed.
Your gut clenches with the urge to flee, your strength already spent in the fight moments earlier, and you heed the warning.

You stare into the glass. At first you see nothing, just a greenish-blue landscape, peaceful and ordinary. There is nothing special about it... Or so you think. As the seconds pass, two figures become more and more visible, slowly growing from two distant dots to two large figures, easily two metres tall. The two creatures stare at you, and you raise your hand, slapping it against the cold glass that holds the creatures trapped. These two beings, which until now had been considered to be legends, raise their hands to clasp yours as well. The most wonderful living beings in the world stand before you, separated by thick glass, suffering every day at the hands of greedy people.
How long will they resist this?

"Thalassophobia is the persistent and intense fear of deep bodies of water such as the sea, oceans, pools, lakes. [...] Thalassophobia can include fear of being in deep bodies of water, fear of the vast emptiness of the sea, of sea waves, aquatic creatures, and fear of distance from land."
You are a freelance diver. You are hired to perform difficult dives for item retrieval, research, and/or maintenance checks in less than safe underwater environments. Rule of thumb is to never dive alone; you live by that religiously. Hardly will you ever do a job without your diving partner: Iris. You have a deep seated fear of the open ocean, so if you cant see the bottom of a given body of water, then you simply wont go in.
One day, you receive a job from Fazbear inc. to retrieve the body of an employee at the request of their family. They had drowned when a company ship they worked on had spontaneously combusted and subsequently sank. The company is willing to pay big hush money to keep both the family and your retrieval team from mentioning the wreckage for some reason.

Cold As Ice - The Interview
Tumblr media
Here my fic for the May AU event for the HRPF fandom. As usual I am late getting it done. Apparently, I am physically incapable of writing a short blurb.
This a mafia AU. @pattiemac1 and I have created this AU together over the last two/three years. We add to it then take things away constantly. She graciously allowed me to insert my characters of Lex and Teddy (from Journey to the Emerald City) into the world.
This is a little glimpse into the world of a Sidney Crosby led mafia family and Teddy/Lex became a part of it. I don't think it needs much warning other than language and some implied violence. As usual fluff abounds between my two little cupcakes.
I will put a link at the bottom for anyone interested about Teddy/Lex in their world.

SUMMER 2021 - DALLAS, TEXAS
Tumblr media
Jamie “Lex” Oleksiak yawned as drove down the expressway toward home. It had been a rough night at the club. Three guys had called off and so he was forced to work at the front door. Between the oppressive heat and steady wave of SMU sorority girls shooting their shot with him, he was more than ready to get home. He mentally pictured the refrigerator and recalled at least two bottles of cold beer that he would be drinking soon.
His cell phone rang and he glanced at the notification on his console screen. “Of course Seggy would call at 3 AM,” he thought to himself. He answered the call at the last moment. “Hey Seggy,” he said, “What’s up?”
Tyler Seguin held his cell phone to his ear and unbuttoned his shirt. “You are a tough guy to track down, Big Rig,” the brunette laughed, “I had to call three different guys to get your number. It’s like you dropped off the face of the planet. You still in Dallas?”
“Yeah, still in here in Big D,” he muttered, feeling stung by the word still. It was not his plan to still be in Dallas. No, he had planned to return to Toronto with this tail tucked between his legs years ago. But life got in the way and his career began in security. He had almost saved enough to make the move back with a little dignity when he was struck by a thunderbolt. A thunderbolt named Theodora “Teddy” Baxter.
Ironically, they met the last time that he had been forced to work the front door at the club. The moment she looked up with those bright blue eyes and megawatt smile as she handed over her ID, he was hooked. For reasons still unknown to him, she had agreed later that night to go on date with him. They had been inseparable ever since and any plans to move back to Toronto went out the window. His heart was firmly planted in Dallas. Well, anywhere she was.
“What’s keeping you there?” Seggy questioned, “I thought you would have moved onto greener pastures by now. I know I did.”
“It’s complicated,” Lex answered vaguely.
Seggy got quiet for  a moment and debated whether to push the issue. Big Rig was not known to be an open book and he needed him to have an open mind. “I got ya. Life’s like that sometimes,” he commented casually, “Listen, you still doing security work? That’s the word on the street.”
“Depends on who is asking,” Lex answered coolly. Other than his parents, he had not admitted to any of his Toronto friends that his professional hockey career had been a bust.
“It’s me asking - it’s me,” Seggy answered. He had picked up on the tone in Big Rig’s voice. They shared in a desire to not let word of their career failure reach Canada. They had that much in common.
“And why are you asking?” Lex asked warily.
“Because I have a lead on a job and I think that you would be a good fit.” he said bluntly. Tyler tried to mask the desperation in his voice.
The last guy that was brought into the crew turned out to be an utter disaster. Claude Giroux had been recommended to the crew by Flower and didn’t take long to discover that he wasn’t going to last long. His gruff demeanor ruffled the sensitive egos of the rag tag crew. The last straw was when he openly defied The Boss. It was so bad that HE delivered the permanent pink slip to the back of Giroux’s head himself.
“Tell me more,” Lex asked.
Tyler explained that the job would be head of security for the CEO for Maritime Industries. When Lex didn't respond immediately, Tyler read from his phone. “Planning and implementing comprehensive security strategies, controlling the security operations budget, monitoring expenses,” he rattled on.
“Seggy, are you reading that off your phone?” Lex interrupted.
“Ummmm, no” Seggy stammered.
“Don't bullshit me. What's the job?” Lex asked.
“It’s a crew in Pittsburgh- mainly strip clubs and a few night clubs,” Seggy sighed, “and a few extracurricular activities.” Tyler tried to downplay the extent of the organization until he got a sense of how comfortable Lex would be with the ethically gray area.
“Seggy…..we are not 21 any more,” Lex asserted, “I’m too old to go back to that petty ass shit.”
“Big Rig, would you believe me if I told you that Sid is planning on going legit?” Tyler pleaded, “We really need a guy like you.”
“Sid?” Lex questioned, “Like Sid Crosby? That guy runs all of Pennsylvania and half of NYC. Holy shit - Seggy how did you end up on that crew.”
“Long story, but let’s just say that my hockey skills finally paid off,” Tyler smiled, “Seriously, he is going legit soon. The pay is good and there are bennys.”
“How good is the pay?” Lex quizzed.
“Let’s just say that my family isn’t questioning my “hockey” career anymore,” he replied.
“Shit - that good?” Lex muttered as he pulled into the parking lot of his apartment building. He looked up and saw the light on his living room. Teddy was waiting for him. Teddy who had never gotten so much as a parking ticket, much less arrested. “No,” he thought to himself, “I can’t bring her into that life.” He sighed, “Sorry, Seggy. I can’t.”
“Why?” Tyler whined. Sid wasn’t too happy that he was having to handle the day to day security operations and you know what they say, that shit ran down hill to Tyler. He needed to get someone to replace Giroux. He needed that someone right now.
“Sorry, Segs - I gotta girl now. I don’t want to mess it up,” Lex said softly.
“You’re turning down this dream job over a girl? Are you crazy?” Tyler scoffed.
“Yeah, I am crazy,” Lex sighed, “I just can’t risk losing her.”
“I gotta meet this girl,” Tyler pushed before he decided that a softer touch was required, “I get it. Not really, but I get it. Why don’t you take a night and think about it. I can hold off Sid for that long.”
“I doubt I will change my mind, Seggy,” Lex countered, “She is the real deal.”
Tumblr media
Lex hung up the phone and walked up to his apartment. He set his things down as he walked past the cramped kitchen. It was really just a glorified studio, but Teddy had done her best to make it homey. She had even started a new series on her YouTube channel - DIY Dollar Tree home decor.
As if by unknown force, Teddy began to rouse when she felt Lex’s presence in the room. She had fallen asleep with her laptop open while editing videos. “Lex?” she yawned as she stirred, “Is it that time?”
He walked over to her and moved her laptop to the table before scooping her into his lap. “Yeah,” he kissed her cheek as she curled her body into his chest. “How was work?” he questioned.
Since the “Great Escape”, Teddy had taken two jobs to replace the income from her father’s real estate firm. Even with that, the duo struggled to make ends meet.  She had grown up with every luxury known to man and gave it all up two months ago to be with him after her father had issued the ultimatum. She had to pick between her family and her love. She made the choice in an instant and never looked back. Now she was waitressing at the best steakhouse in town at night and nannying for Stars goalie Ben Bishop during the day. She operated on fumes but never once complained.
“Work was good. I had a private party so the tip was great, even the company was horrible,” she smiled. Lex furrowed his brow while she continued  “Paige came in and was well, you know, Paige,” she sighed, “Thank God for automatic gratuity. She might have stiffed me otherwise.” Lex studied her face and could see her desperately trying to keep the facade up but he could see the pain behind her eyes. Paige had been her childhood best friend but had turned her back on Teddy when she chose him after her family’s ultimatum.
“Foz,” he said gently as he caressed her face. She smiled at the nickname he had given on their first date. It had started out as “Fozzy Wozzy Bear had red hair”, but had shortened over time to just Foz.
She shook her head to protest and shake the negative thoughts that were beginning to swirl in her brain. “No, Lex - it’s fine,” she lied, “She’s not important and I am glad that I could see her true colors finally.” She had seen the true colors of most of her childhood friends as one by one they dropped her. “It’s funny,” she thought to herself, “None of them had anything to say as they ignored the obvious signs that Chaz was beating me. But let me fall in love with a good, decent man who works hard and all of a sudden they are all concerned about my well-being.” The bitterness rose up inside of her.
Her mind raced for a distraction. “I have a surprise for you!’ she jumped up and his eyes followed her. She came back with a to-go bag from the restaurant. He pulled out the box and opened it. Inside was a huge tomahawk steak with all the trimmings. He looked up to see her beaming smile, “They said it was overcooked because they wanted it super rare, but it’s cooked just like you like it, so I snagged it.”
She moved to the side of him as he ate off of his lap. They enjoyed the moment in quiet contentment as Lex’s mind raced. “How long?” he asked himself, “How long can I ask her to make these sacrifices? How long before she runs back to the easy life. The life I can’t give her.”
His thoughts were interrupted with her voice, “Spill it, Jamieson.” She only used his full name when she was completely serious.
“An old friend called with a job offer,” he started. Her face lit up immediately. “But it’s in Pittsburgh,” he interjected, expecting her face to drop. It did not. “And it’s not necessarily completely above board.” Again, he expected her expression to change, but it was bright and hopeful. “I told them no,” he said finally. “Why?” she questioned.
“I can’t leave you,” he answered.
“Then take me,” she replied as if it was the obvious answer.
“You would go? You would go to Pittsburgh? But Dallas is your home,” he said in disbelief.
“My home is with you, Love,” she kissed his cheek.
“And it doesn't bother you that there may be some shady shit?” he prodded.
“There is shady shit going on everywhere, even the corporate world. There is a reason my father has a security detail. You don’t become a billionaire without doing some shady shit and making a few enemies along the way. What's the difference? The real question is would you take the job if I weren’t a factor?”
“I would at least go have the conversation,” he answered,
“Then go have the conversation,” she kissed his cheek.
Lex picked up the phone and dialed Seguin. He only spoke three words when Tyler answered, “Set it up.” Then he hung and focused on Teddy, “Tell me about Paige. What did she do this time? Do I need to go pay her a visit”  He tickled her sides and nipped at her neck. “I can be your enforcer, Foz. Just say the word.”
TWO DAYS LATER
Tumblr media
“Foz” Lex asked as she adjusted his tie on the private plane Crosby had sent for them, “Where did you find this suit? I am not buying the Goodwill story.” The odds have her randomly finding a tailored suit that fit his almost six eight frame was slim to none.
“I acquired it. That's all you need to know,” she grinned.
Lex opened the suit jacket and saw the label with the words “Custom made for RTB”. He looked up at her in surprise. “Is this your dad's suit? Did you steal a suit from your dad?” Their height was about the only thing he had in common with the stubborn, prideful man.
“Steal is such a harsh word,” she answered as she brushed imaginary lint off of his chest. He looked at her with one eyebrow raised,”it's an old suit. It was languishing in the back of his closet. I am pretty sure he wore it to my confirmation. We are giving it new life.”
“You stole it, Foz,” he teased.
“Well, think of me as modern day Robin Hood,” she teased as she pulled on his tie to kiss him, “And you can be me Maid Marian.”
His eyebrows furrowed in sign of disapproval. “What? You would look good as Maid Marian,” she protested before continuing, “I simply tested the supposedly top notch security system at my parent's house. I was doing them a service actually. They should be thanking me that I only took a suit as payment. It could have been worse.”
“Put it back once we get home,” he chided.
“Fine, but Lex, I don’t think you are going to be up for the level of shady shit working for Sid Crosby is going to require if you can’t accept one re-acquisitioned suit from my father,” she playfully pouted.
“I am the only criminal in this relationship. You are the virtuous one with the heart of gold, got it?” he said. He cracked a smile, but the message was clear - leave the shady shit to him.
“Got it,” as she adjusted his tie, “Now let’s go knock him dead.”
Maritime Manor - Sidney Crosby Compound - Fox Chapel, Pennsylvania
Tumblr media
Lex stood at the large picture window for a moment. He examined what he could see of the extensive  grounds. The lawn was well manicured with each of the smaller cottages on the compound sharing a large common area. Just beyond the cottages was a wooded area that extended to what looked like a river or creek bed. He mentally checked for sight lines and frowned at the results.
He turned around and examined the large office that had been created from two small guest rooms. At the far end, a large conference table sat covered with stacks of money. From what he could quickly estimate, it was easily $20K in stacks with a pile left to be sorted. He walked closer to the table. The pile was probably another 50K left to be sorted from collected protection money from the weekend.
Outside the office, he heard the jovial sounds of the crew chirping each other. Suddenly they got quiet. He turned to face the door. The chatter had turned seriously and he heard the sound of the front door open. He then heard the sound of Sid’s distinct Nova Scotian accent, “Who is she?”
Then he heard the accented voice of Andre Burakovsky, “She’s with the big guy. He’s waiting for you in the office.” Lex’s body tensed up and he faced the door.
Seggy piped in, “You left him in the office? Alone?”
“That’s not good?” the Swede questioned Seggy as they walked past him. Sid’s silence sent the resounding message that it was indeed, no good. Lex heard footsteps that approached the door. He resumed his position by the picture window, but turned when Sid and Seggy walked in the room.
Sid did a quick visual assessment as he walked in. His lips pursed when he saw the stacks of money in the open. When his eyes landed on the gun left out in the open, he shook his head, “Burky, Burky, Burky.”
After a quick one shoulder hug and pat on the back, Tyler moved to make the introductions. “Sid, this is Jamie Oleksiak aka Big Rig,” he began, “We go back a long way. Big Rig, this is Sid Crosby. He runs this crew.”
“I am sure that he knows who I am, Seggy,” Sid interjected as he shook hands with Lex, “You can leave us alone now.” Tyler’s head went back and forth as the two stood in an extended handshake.
“Sure, Sid,” Tyler said through the tension that radiated off of the two men sizing each other up. “I’m just going to go head over to the clubs and deal with that bouncer issue.”
Lex noted the hand strength in the shorter man as Tyler left. He also noted the slight flair in his nostrils and tense jaw. On the surface, Sid appeared calm and neutral.  He crossed in front of Lex to walk to his desk. He made a quick turn while pulling out his gun. He was met by a gun pointed between his temple as Lex quickly removed his gun from his hand. Time stood still as the two men stared each other down. The beating of each other’s heart pounded in their ears. It was then that Sid noticed the gun pointed at his head was one of his own. His eyes shifted and he saw the hidden gun safe ajar.
Sid said neutrally, “So what’s your plan of action here, Big Rig?”
“Well, I would say my plan of action is to find out if you are as big of an idiot as your crew,” Lex said equally as cool, “Also I would say that we are in the process of sizing each other up. I think I have the upper hand literally and figuratively.”
“I think that you have proven your point,” Sid took a step back without breaking eye contact, “You have found some vulnerabilities that need to be addressed. Care to sit down and discuss the job now like professionals?”  Lex nodded and Sid carefully walked behind his desk.
“Hands on the desk,” Lex ordered as he kept the gun pointed at Sid.
“Come on, Big Rig,” Sid smiled, “I said like professionals. Besides, do you think I am going to kill you with your girl sitting in the next room?”
Lex’s eyes squinted slightly but his expression did not change. He shrugged and said, “It’s a possibility, but that’s assuming that you get me before I get you, which is not going to happen.”
“Fair enough,” Sid conceded, “You got the job by the way if you want it. Want to hear the details?” Lex nodded his head yes. Impressed with Sid’s direct approach. “Then put the damn gun down,” Sid instructed. Lex lowered his weapon, but kept the gun in his hand. “First, tell me the other vulnerabilities you saw.”
“I don’t work for free,” Lex replied, “Tell me about the job and compensation. I will discuss it with Teddy. Then I will give you a breakdown of your slip-shod security.”
Sid sat back and smiled, “You don’t bullshit. I like that.”
“I find that it makes life simpler,” Lex responded.
“Alright, here is a breakdown of the job. You are head of security for all business locations as well as the compound. You have complete discretion in terms of staffing and resources that you need. My only non-negotiables are Seggy and Burky. They may need some fine tuning, but I trust them,” Sid explained, “Compensation includes salary, housing and benefits.”
“What’s the salary?” Lex quizzed.
“Name your price,” Sid answered without hesitation. Lex balked and Sid continued, “Look, I have a good gut instinct about you. You have already proven that you will stand your ground and you are not a yes man. That’s what I need.”
“I gotta talk it over with my lady,” Lex answered slowly, “Tell me about the crew.”
Tumblr media
Outside in the great room, Teddy’s legs bounced up and down on the gray leather sofa as she  played with the bracelet on her wrist. She moved her fingers from stone to stone. Burky watched from the side of the room and ran his fingers through his hair before bringing his thumb to his mouth. He slowly chewed his fingernail while contemplating his next move. He knew had screwed up letting the Big Bird or whatever his name was into the office. He had been distracted by the red head when she entered the room wearing a navy blue sheath dress that hugged her curves. Women had always been his weakness.
Sid would come down hard on his stupidity if he didnt come with a plan to make up for it. “What were you thinking, dumbass?” he chastised himself. Suddenly he saw a glint that caught his eye. He focused on the origin of it and smiled widely. He knew what he needed to do.
“Excuse me” he asked brightly and exaggerated his Swedish accent slightly,  “What did you say your name was?
Teddy looked over at him warily, “Teddy.” She wasn’t in the mood to make small talk. She was a bundle of nerves as the reality of the situation sank in. This could be her future - a future outside of Texas. It was a move that would hammer the final nail in the coffin of her relationship with her parents.
“Ahhh, Teddy is a man's name, correct?” he questioned “Your parents wanted a boy and not a girl?”
“Wow,” she said as her eyebrow raised slightly, “You get right to the point…..”
“Andre,” he grinned, “They call me Burky.” He studied her body language as he decided on his approach. “You look thirsty. We can go get a drink in the kitchen.” he said sweetly.
She studied his face for a moment. He seemed friendly enough, much friendlier than she thought a part of Sid Crosby’s crew should be. It couldn’t hurt to make conversation and learn a little bit more about the job from his perspective, she told herself.
“Do you have coffee?” she smiled back, “I would love some.” She willingly followed along as he led them  into the spacious kitchen. They made small talk as they made their coffees. They reached over each other as they put their cream and sweeteners in their mugs. He spoke of his move from Sweden to the states to pursue a hockey career. Like Lex and Seggy, his professional career had been a bust. In his case, multiple injuries stymied his playing time and eventually earned him the label of “fragile”. Teddy remained tight lipped when Burky pressed her information about Lex and his history.
It was only after they returned to the living room that Teddy felt like something was off. She dismissed the feeling as she looked at the closed door. “So Sid?” Teddy asked casually, “He's a good boss?”
Burky's head popped up, “Oh, he's great. He took me in off the street.”
Suddenly, Teddy realized what was wrong. Her right wrist was bare. The wrist that normally held  a diamond tennis bracelet. It had been a sweet sixteen gift from her dead sister, Frankie. She looked down in the chair to see if it had slipped off there. It was nowhere to be seen. She distinctly remembered touching it earlier. She retraced her steps mentally and then kicked herself figuratively.
“So Andy?” she asked pointedly.
“Andre,” he corrected.
“Andre,” she smiled, “What do you do for Sid? I assume that you have some sort of specific role.”
Burky blinked slowly, unsure where the conversation was leading. He didn't want to bring any attention to his skill set. “Oh, I do all kinds of things.” he answered casually.
“Things like stealing bracelets from house guests?” Teddy leveled her gaze at the Swede.
“Bracelet?” he smiled, “What bracelet?”
“The one you took,” she answered calmly.
“I didn't take a bracelet,” he replied in the same manner.
“We're going this route?” Teddy got up and walked toward him with a sense of purpose, “Give me the bracelet- no harm, no foul.”
“There is no harm, no foul because I don't have the bracelet. I don’t know what you are talking about,” he stood his ground.”
“Come on Burky, this could get really ugly or you can simply hand it back to me,” Teddy attempted to speak as sweetly as possible. When he didn’t respond, she felt the anger rise up in her. “Look, you have three seconds before I scream,” her voice rose slightly, “What do you think HE is going to do when he hears it? Do you think he is going to stop to ask you questions? If you are lucky, I will be able to explain the situation before he assumes something far worse. No, when I tell him that you took the bracelet, he will just turn you upside down and shake you down. Have you ever been shaken down by a Big Rig?  I would just give it back to me and save yourself the pain, but you do you booboo”.
In the office, Sid was mid-story when Lex held up his hand. Sid stopped talking and they listened.
“Let's be reasonable,” Burky cajoled.
She stepped closer and yelled, “Give it back.”
“or you will tell your giant, badass big bird of a boyfriend,” he scoffed, “For the last time, I didn’t take your damn….”
He was interrupted as Teddy grabbed his hand and twisted his arm behind his back. Then she pushed her foot to the back of his knee, bringing him down to his knees. “Give it back to me,” she screamed as she twisted his arm tighter.
“Foz, everything okay out there,” Lex called  as he rose to his feet.
“Yeah sure,” Teddy answered breezily as she pressed harder.
Burky heard the movement and assessed the situation. “It seemed like a good idea at the time,” he thought to himself as the pain began to shoot up his arm. He began to realize that his initial plan of stealing the bracelet to get back in Sid’s good graces had not been thought through to completion. One, he thought she wouldn’t notice, or at least until they left. Two, he forgot about the big guy. Three, it was a stupid ass plan altogether.
“Alright, alright, alright,” he whined, “You have to get off of me.” She stood up slowly and adjusted her dress. Burky placed his forehead on the floor and took a deep breath in an effort to compose himself. Then he jumped up and smiled brightly. “Congratulations, Teddy,” he said with false bravado. He reached into his pocket and withdrew the five carat tennis bracelet. He placed it into his palm and presented it to her with great flourish.
It was that moment that the door opened and duo walked into the room.
“What’s going on?” Lex asked bruskly.
Teddy tilted her head, “What do you mean?”
“We heard a ruckus,” Sid answered.
Teddy and Burky exchanged a look. Teddy studied his face. His eyes implored her silently. She considered his misdeed. He tried to pull a fast one on her and failed. It was unlikely he would try it again. She tried to summon anger but he bat his puppy dog eyes at her and she smiled.
“A ruckus?” Burky repeated, “I didn’t hear a ruckus. Did you hear a ruckus, Teddy?”
“No, I didn’t hear anything, Andy,” she responded. She turned to the duo. “Can you describe the ruckus?” she added.
Sid stifled his laughter. He wasn’t sure what exactly was happening, but he knew two things - Burky had screwed up again and Teddy was covering up for him. The Swede was the equivalent of a labrador puppy on his crew. He was simultaneously entertaining and endearing with his antics. However, he frequently left messes all over that required someone to clean it up.
Lex pressed the issue slightly, “I am pretty sure I heard your voice, Teddy.“
Teddy smiled, “Oh that! My bracelet fell off. Andy here helped me find it. Didn’t you Andy?”
Andre bit his tongue. He wanted to correct her but she was doing him a solid so he let it slide. “Yes, that must have been what you heard. Poor Teddy was quite flummoxed. You should really get that clasp checked. It’s very weak in my opinion.
Lex looked back and forth between the two. He was sure of one thing- something happened and Teddy would not tell him in front of Sid. Since she seemed to have the “situation” under control, he let it slide.
“Are you almost done with your chat?” Teddy asked, desperate to end the stand-off.
Sid smiled, “We’re just about done. Burky, take Teddy down to see the River cottage.” She tilted her head in confusion and he continued, “The job does come with either a housing allowance and/or use of one of the cottages on the compound. Why don’t you go take a look at it and see it will fit your needs?”
“Oh, that sounds like a fabulous idea,” she smiled.
She held out her arm to signal Burky to lead the way. They were about ten yards outside the house before he spoke. “Why did you cover for me?” he asked.
“Snitches get stitches,” she answered quickly.
“Not here,” he retorted immediately. She gave him a side eye. “Sid has very few rules, but rule number one is that there is no violence towards women or children. They're off limits.”
Teddy nodded her head in understanding, “So why did you steal my bracelet then?”
“Temporary insanity?” he laughed. When she did not return the laugh, he added, “I wanted to remind Sid that he needs me around for my special set of skills.”
“Didn’t think that one one through, huh?” Teddy paused
“Yeah,”  he sighed, “I am not the brains of the crew obviously..”
Teddy elbowed him, “Don’t worry Big Rig is smart enough for the both of you.” They stepped inside of the cozy three bedroom cottage. Teddy walked around from room to room and tried to keep her composure. It was a far cry from their cramped studio apartment. Mentally she started decorating it with their existing furniture. When she found the back door that led to a deck overlooking the Alleghany river, she was sold.

Outside the cottage, Sid approached Burky with Lex. “Where’s Teddy?” Lex asked. Burky nodded his head to indicate that she was inside. They walked in and found her peacefully enjoying the view. She turned as she sensed their presence even though her eyes were closed. Sid’s eyebrows lifted in surprise.
“Are you all done?” she asked brightly.
Sid smiled, “I think that I may have him convinced to join the crew. I think that my only obstacle is you. Will the cottage work?” He was smart enough to know who the real decision maker would be.
Teddy glanced at her boyfriend then back to the river. She folded her arms across her chest. Then she replied with a smile, “The cottage is more than adequate.” Then she turned to Lex and asked, “Can you give Mr. Crosby and me a moment? I do have some questions for him.”
His eyebrows shot up and he tilted his head, “Teddy, are you sure you want me to leave?”
‘Yes, it won’t take long. You should check out the shower to make sure that you fit,” she suggested. When he left, Sid and Teddy stood in silence for a moment.
“Mr. Crosby,” she began, “Are there any of the other guys on the crew that have a wife or girlfriend?”
“No, you are the first,” he answered, “Truthfully, I thought you were going to be a dealbreaker for me when I saw you in the living room. Turns out that I was wrong.”
“How so?” she inquired.
“You are much tougher than you appear,” he answered, “How hard did you take down Burky?”
Teddy’s mouth dropped before she smiled, “I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“Come on, you can tell me,” he encouraged, “What did he do?”
“Promise me that he won’t be punished?” she asked point blank. Sid held up his fingers in a “Scouts Honor” gesture. She nodded in understanding.
“Apparently in a fit of desperation, he lifted my bracelet from my wrist,” she answered. Sid immediately frowned and his jaw tensed. “Hey, he is part of your crew. You can’t be surprised.” Teddy walked towards the edge of the deck before turning back to face him. “Seriously, he didn’t think it through but there was no harm and no foul,” she said as she held out her bracelet.
“Back to my question,” he quizzed.
“I took him down hard enough to get my message through,” she stared at him defiantly, “he won’t try it again - at least not with me.”
Sid smiled, “You way tougher than I thought you were.”
“I used to not be tough, but Lex taught me,” she said out loud, “He turned me from a sheltered rich girl into someone with street smarts.”
“I’d love to hear how that happened,” he replied.
“Story for another time,” she sighed. She steeled herself. Then she blurted out, “Mr. Crosby, what kind of business is this? I am not naive enough to believe that this is a completely legitimate operation, but I need to know just how far across the line will this job take Jamie?” She was careful to use his proper name.
“Wow, you've got nerves of steel to ask me that,” Sid balked.
For a moment, Teddy doubted herself but she pushed through it, “Lex,” she stopped herself, “I mean Jamie is more than capable to do whatever this job requires. I know that he has had to make ethically gray choices in the past.” She paused and considered shutting up but her protective nature spurred her on. “But he is a man of honor. He is not mean or malicious. I don’t want him to be  in a position where he would have to compromise his principles and character.” She took a deep breath, “I don't want to lose the man I love to a world of darkness.”
Sid studied her for a moment. If there had been any doubt left about Oleksiak, she had removed it. Anyone who could inspire such gumption and loyalty was a person he wanted on his crew. Finally Sid spoke, “I won’t ask him to do that. I will not lie. We break the law on occasion.” She gave him a side eye. “Okay, we break the law a lot, but we do have a code that we follow.”
“Will he have to hurt people?” she asked brazenly.
“Yes, but nobody gets hurt that doesn’t deserve to be hurt,” he countered.
“And women and children are off limits?” she asked to get confirmation of Burky’s remark.
“They are off limits and anyone who breaks that rule gets hurt,” Sid answered.
“Well, then I think you have answered my questions,” she stated.
“Good,” he smiled, “I’ll send Big Rig in so you can make your decision.”
Once Sid and Burky had left the cottage, Lex came back out to the deck. He walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and bent down to place his chin on her shoulder. “What are you thinking, Foz?” he asked quietly.
“I am thinking that I want to know how the interview went. Do you like him? Does he like you? What does the job entail?” she leaned her body weight back and turned her head to face him. He took her hand and led her to the chaise lounge. He removed his jacket and got comfortable. Then he pulled her on top of his massive body.
“Well, after the guns were put away, it went well,” he started.
“Guns? What the hell, Lex!” she shouted.
He smiled, “We sized each other up so to speak”
“And?” she asked.
“And there is a reason that he is Sidney Fucking Crosby and runs all of Pennsylvania and half of NYC. He’s smart, shrewd and has balls of steel,” he answered. She rested her head on his chest as he went on to explain the job. She could hear the excitement in his voice. She could also hear how he was trying to tamper it down. He knew that she would allow his excitement to cloud her judgment and she knew that he knew it.
“So did he offer you the job?” she asked.
“Yeah,” he tried to answer casually.
“What’s the hold up then?” she joked.
“The money,” he answered. He continued when she squinted in confusion, “He said that I can name my price. Foz, I have no idea on what to ask for. This job is so far out of my league. I just don’t know.” His voice trailed off.
“Hey,” she interjected, “This is not out of your league. He basically offered you a job on the spot for a reason. Don’t doubt yourself, Jamieson.”
“Okay boss,” he tickled her side.
Suddenly an idea hit and she dug out her phone. She started texting Steve, the former Secret Service agent, who headed her father’s security team.

Teddy gulped when she read the last line.
“What?” Lex asked as his eyes filled with tears.
She handed the phone to Lex who read over the messages. “Daddio never changed the code,” she whispered, “so I could go back if I needed to.”
“Foz,” he whispered, “If you want to stay in Dallas, we can stay in Dallas. I’ll find a way to make more money.”
Her eyes flashed up at him, “You know I don’t give a shit about the money. It’s never been about the money.” He closed his eyes and rubbed his face. “Listen to me Jamieson Oleksiak. I chose you. I chose you and I will choose you over and over again,” she spoke urgently. “This is a fresh start for us and we’re not going to throw it away for a possibility,” she said firmly, “They made their choice and nothing in those texts changes that.”
“But Foz, they’re your family,” he countered.
“No, you are my family. They threw me away when they couldn’t control me” she protested, “Would you throw me away?
He recoiled in horror, “Never.
“It’s you and me forever.” she began reciting the familiar words.
“No matter what” he joined in reciting their motto.
“Whatever it takes,” she finished.
“So we have a decision made?” he smiled.
“Let’s move to Pittsburgh,” she answered.
“Foz, I didn’t even ask about the cottage,” he realized, “Do you like it?”
“It needs a little TLC, but I like it,” she assured him, “Factor in redecorating in your salary request.”
They spent a few more minutes in silence before he nudged them up. After a few minutes to take measurements, they strolled hand in hand back to the main house. Teddy started to find a seat in the living room as Lex went to find Sid. However, he kept a firm grip on her hand. Together they knocked on the door and entered the office together.
“So what’s the verdict?” Sid asked.
“We’re in for the right price,” Lex answered. He took a deep breath, “500K should do it.”
“Okay,” the Canadian crime boss answered without pausing, “When can you start?”
“Wait,” Teddy interjected. Sid turned to her, “And a reno budget for the cottage.”
Sid blinked and then smiled, “Welcome to the family. Let’s go celebrate.”
Tumblr media
The crew sat in the private dining of Ciliegia, Sid’s preferred Italian restaurant. The usually all male crew felt invigorated by the presence of a woman. There was a sly game of one-up manship as they vied for Teddy’s attention. It had not taken them long to realize that the key to getting into the new boss’s good graces was getting into HER good graces.
After much prodding from Sid, Teddy finally spilled the beans on Burky’s failed attempt to steal her bracelet.
“I lifted it without you noticing,” Burky protested as he blushed, “At least give me credit for that.”
“Yes, Andy,” she teased, “You did do that. Now what you were going to do with it once you had it, I have no idea.”
“Andre… if you are not going to call me Burky, call me Andre,” he begged.
“Why would I do that, Andy?” Teddy answered, “I think you should be glad that this is the only punishment I am going to dole out.” Lex watched with a bemused smile as the two bantered.
Later, Sid asked the server to send his compliments to the chef for the delicious meal. They were surprised when the fiery redhead walked into the room. She wiped her hands on her apron as she approached Sid at the head of the table.  He stared at her, suddenly unable to speak. Startled glances were exchanged among the group before Lex spoke up to pass along the praise. The chef, Lizzie, nodded her head as she listened but her eyes were transfixed on the brunette Canadian. When she stumbled out of the room as she kept her gaze in his direction, Teddy and Lex shared a look.
As they walked out to go their separate ways, Sid nudged Lex, “I am pretty sure I just met my future wife.”
Lex stopped suddenly, “Don’t you think that you should know her name first?”
“I know her name,” Sid corrected, “It’s Mrs. Crosby.”
Lex laughed out loud, “Those redheads, I’ll tell you.” He glanced over at Teddy who was busy exchanging phone numbers, instagrams and snapchats with Seggy and Burky. “They’ll snatch your soul out of your body in an instant and never give it back,” he said with a smile. She turned to him and flashed a smile that melted his heart.
Lex pulled Teddy in a tight hug. “I lied earlier today, Foz” he whispered as he kissed the top of her head.
“You did?” she looked up into his eyes, “about what?”
“I said that I am the only criminal in this relationship,” he smiled as he spoke, “That’s not true.”
“I’m a criminal now?” she playfully pouted, “Fine - I’ll get the suit cleaned and returned to Daddio’s closet. No harm, no foul.”
“I’m not talking about that, Foz,” he kissed her forehead.
“Then how am I a criminal?” she poked his rock hard abs.
“You stole my heart, just like a seasoned professional,” he bent down to kiss her gently, “Much better than the Swede.”
“Oh,” she returned his kiss, “In my defense, you stole mine first.”
“Well, I am not giving it back,” he lifted her up to kiss her more deeply.
“Me either,” she wrapped her arms around his neck, “I am yours forever. No takeback and no exchanges.”
“I wouldn’t think of it,” he grinned as he carried her out to their waiting car, “I wouldn’t think of it.”

His cello had been his faithful companion through it all, and many said Erwin was the most talented cellist of his time. With such a bright future, it was easy to pretend everything was perfect.
But a lot had changed in ten years.
Now, all he had left were ghosts in his shadows, blurred memories of what used to be, and a body broken beyond repair.
He hoped going back to where it all started would be enough to recover what he’d lost: his ability to hold a cello, to feel, to love. He’d been wrong so far. But there may be another soul just as broken as his, someone who was also wandering in search of their own missing pieces.

𝐖𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐖𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐃 (𝟏𝟖+)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐎𝐑𝐒 𝐃𝐍𝐈
[ PAIRING ] Zeke Yeager x f!reader [ AUTHOR'S NOTE ] This is an old fic for a collab where my prompt was fucking in an alley. [ SYNOPSIS ] You’re the world’s cutest cleat chaser and your only wish is to grab the attention of your favorite ball player, Zeke Yeager. [ WORD COUNT ] 2.6k [ CONTENT ] Modern AU, dubcon (power imbalance), exhibitionism, public sex, rough sex, finger sucking, degradation (whore, tart), vaginal fingering, impact play, oral sex, spit, creampie, Zeke's a bit of an asshole but it's fine alright like it's tolerable.
Tumblr media
Night games were never particularly kind to you. A wind chill swept through the city and the fog rolled over the hills. You shivered outside the ballpark in your gameday outfit which consisted of dolphin shorts, thigh high socks, and your favorite team's jersey with Yeager emblazoned on the back.
A drunk man pondered, "Could our offense be any fuckin' worse, dude?"
It was another loss for your team. You listened to drunken fans lamenting another losing season. Another year dead last in the standings. Another year all the new players from the farm would disperse to better teams, greener pastures. Lucky for you your favorite was loyal; Zeke was committed. He like many players worked his way up through the farm system, toiling away in the minor leagues. But unlike others he was content to continue playing for a lackluster team.
When asked why he stuck around he answered, "Who knows? I'll probably leave once the lease to my place is up."
It later came out he in fact owned his penthouse apartment.
"At least our bullpen has their shit together," another drunk said, smacking the other on the back of the head. His hoppy breath visible in the cold air. You slowly stepped away from him and his stench.
"What's the point of a good bullpen if they can't get run support, dumb ass?"
You sighed heavily and kept your eye on the exit gate. It was a slow parade of luxury cars: a Lexus here, a Bentley there. But you failed to see the black Rolls-Royce Wraith that Zeke drove.
Going home was always an option; curling up like a kitten in your warm bed definitely had its appeal. But so did Zeke. I mean, you spent a greater portion of the game gazing at him longingly. And he even gave you a little wave after making brief eye contact with you.
Shelling out money for a seat by the dugout had paid off.
You were blessed with a perfect view. When Zeke took to the mound in the 9th inning to close out the game you salivated at the sight of his ass in his tight baseball pants. It was criminal how they hugged every muscle in his long legs. His entire uniform was perfectly fitted; none of that baggy nonsense for him. It made him standout in a team of leathered veteran players, desperately holding onto their careers, seemingly unaware they were washed up. They looked positively slovenly next to Zeke. You wondered if he wore the same intense, determined expression while fucking. The mere thought made your pussy throb.
A gust of wind brought you back to reality. You looked around and saw people starting to disperse. The two drunks wandered across the street, still shouting about the lack of run support. Disappointment washed over you. You desperately wanted to see Zeke, even if just a glance.
"Shit," you muttered. "Oh well."
You stood around, looking dejected as ever. You felt like an idiot shivering in the cold. You pulled out your phone and checked the bus schedule.
"Of course."
You had missed it. All because you wanted to make eyes at a star player.
"Oh god, were you really waiting around for me?"
You quickly spun around and saw Zeke. He was still in his baseball pants but now they were paired with a fitted black v-neck. He smirked at your doe-eyed expression, clearly relishing in your admiration.
"Uh—No, I."
Words escaped you. You couldn't tell if you were shivering because of the cold or the beautiful man that stood in front you. He was even better up close. His beauty was significantly more pronounced. You were transfixed by steely gaze, utterly enamored with his grey eyes.
Zeke looked you up and down.
"I like your jersey."
All you did was nod. He snorted at your inability to speak.
"Are capable of talking? Or should we pantomime?"
"I... I don't know what that means."
He rolled his eyes.
"I honestly shouldn't expect a baseball fan to know any words more than two syllables," he playfully asserted.
Speech eluded you. You certainly knew a significant amount of words with varying numbers of syllables, but that was neither here nor there. He stepped closer to you. His eyes lingering on your bare thighs.
"You must be freezing dressed like a little tart."
"A tart?"
"Let me redo that one." He cleared his throat. "You must be freezing dressed like a dirty whore. Could those shorts be any shorter?"
"I—I guess."
He stared you down. It never occurred to you he didn't expect or even want an answer.
"You're not very bright, are you?"
"I'm nervous. Not stupid," you said quietly.
He frowned and pulled you into a hug. His hands trailed down to the small of your back and then slowly put them underneath your jersey. The feeling of his rough hands on your bare skin was almost too pleasurable comprehend. It was a miracle you didn't faint or melt into a puddle.
"Aw, no need to be nervous. I promise I'm a nice guy 50% of the time."
"Not all the time?" You asked nervously.
"No, no, no. That would be too boring. Life's about excitement."
He lifted your chin.
"Don't you agree?" He asked.
"I mean, within reason."
He traced his thumb along your lips.
"What do you consider within reason, pet?"
Before you had a chance to answer he weaseled his thumb into your mouth. You eagerly sucked on it; your tongue gliding up and down. It was second nature. Almost like his fingers simply existed so they could be in your mouth.
"So this is within reason, huh? Is this?"
Zeke pulled his thumb out of your mouth and attempted to kiss you. There was a brief moment of panic when his lips touched yours. You hesitated.
"Open your mouth," he demanded. "This is what you want, isn't it?"
You parted your lips and accepted his tongue in your mouth. Who were you to deny your favorite player? You'd dreamt of this moment for so long. So many nights spent touching yourself, pretending his callused hands were the ones delving inside you. So many nights quietly moaning his name as you writhed on your bed in the midst of an orgasm.
His breath tasted like peppermint and tobacco, a combination that would normally make you gag. But this was uncharted territory; there was no reason to let something so trivial ruin the moment. If anything it was intoxicating. You moaned through the kiss and wrapped your arms around him. He held you closer to him, his grip tighter. You fidgeted a bit, attempting to ignore how wet you were getting, but lust overcame you. You reached down and felt for his hard cock.
"Whoa there. Let's go somewhere a bit more secluded."
He took his thumb and wiped away the drool near your mouth.
"And where would that be?"
"That alley over there."
Zeke gestured towards an alleyway not too far from the exit gate.
"Is—is that gonna be any better?"
You looked around. Sure, the street was deserted at this point but it was still woefully public. You failed to see how an alleyway would be a better option.
"Come on. Don't worry about it."
Zeke gently took your hand and led you to the alley. It was dark and dingy. The only light came from rogue cars speeding down the street. In any other circumstance this would have been horrifying. But it was him. The man you longed for. Nothing seemed horrifying with him around. He lit up a cigarette and offered you one.
"I don't smoke," you said, coughing.
He shrugged and took a drag. "Your loss. You might as well just get on your hands and knees then."
You looked out towards the street again, weighing your options.
"Do I need to repeat myself?"
"No," you answered, lowering yourself to the ground. "I have ears."
The pavement was cold and unforgiving. Your socks did little to protect your tender skin from the concrete. However there was something invigorating about your discomfort.
"Pull your shorts down."
You did as you were told, slowly pulling down your shorts revealing your bare ass to Zeke.
"Nice," he said, getting on his knees behind you.
He gave you a firm spank. His hand was freezing. You shivered as he took his fingers and prodded your folds. He slowly slid his middle and index fingers inside you.
"This might sound weird but you have the cutest asshole," he said candidly as he continued to finger fuck you.
"Oh, th—thanks," you choked out.
"What would you do if I started fucking it, huh?"
"Probably cry, honestly."
"Is that supposed to discourage me?"
You winced as Zeke slipped yet another finger inside you.
"I w—would hope s—so."
"Hmm. I would hope my biggest fan would know I'm absolute filth," he chided.
"I'm usually too busy calculating, oh fuck... Calculating your ERA to think about that."
A blatant lie. It was true you did spend quite a bit of time figuring out earned run averages. But you constantly thought about the things you'd let Zeke do to you. Your go-to fantasy being one where he fucks you in the locker room while the rest of the team cheers him on as he fills you with his cum over and over again.
He chuckled. "You know your shit then, huh?"
"I'm a baseball fan fir—first and a whore second."
Zeke grabbed a chunk of your hair and pulled on it so you were forced to look at him. His glasses were slightly fogged up which made you laugh.
"You're pretty audacious. I like that. It's a pleasant surprise."
You flashed him a smile, proud that you impressed him. Your night couldn't have gotten any better.
Zeke leaned over you and whispered in your ear, "Are you ready for me, pet?"
The sound of him pulling down his pants zipper had you frothing at the mouth. You arched your back, presenting your warm, slick cunt to him. Zeke took his thick cock and guided it inside you. It was larger than you were expecting, you couldn't help but yelp as he started to thrust.
"Aw, is it too big for you? Do I need to be gentler?"
You nodded.
"Too bad."
He slammed his full length into you; your clit throbbed as he thrusted.
"Ah, please. I—it's too much."
"You're a big girl, aren't you? You did come here all by yourself."
Zeke was right. You had shown up to the game alone; none of your friends could give a shit about baseball, or sports in general. But you weren't sure how this related to you taking his cock. He gave you a firm smack on the ass.
"I asked you a question."
"I am," you whined.
"That's what I thought. You can take it."
Your knees were chafing against the concrete; you felt your socks tear from the friction. Zeke grabbed onto your hips and drove his cock deeper and deeper inside you. He dug his thumbs into your hips.
"You would've fucked whoever came up to you, huh?"
"No," you answered in between moans.
"Really?"
His tone indicated he didn't believe you. Frustration plagued you. You desperately wanted to explain yourself, to tell him, "No, you fucking idiot, I only wanna get railed by you." But that was wishful thinking, a pipe dream.
"I find it that hard to believe," he continued.
"I—I, shit." Words continued to fail you. You felt like you would never be able to communicate with another human again after he was through with you.
"Come on; you can do it. Use your big girl words, pet."
His hand came down hard on your ass as if he was trying to knock some sense into you.
"You—you're the only one," you choked out, reeling from the ache his callused hand left behind.
"Really?"
This time he seemed genuinely surprised. Your head was spinning, but you trudged on.
"Everyone else is kinda leathery and old. That's not my type."
He yanked on your hair, forcing you to crane your head back. You got a good look at his face; he was fucking smiling.
"Watch it, pet. Those are my teammates."
You let out a little laugh and he loosened his grip on your hair. He grabbed you gently under your chin and planted a small kiss on your lips. Your cunt had finally adjusted to his thick cock and you grinded up against him, sending it deeper inside you. Zeke moaned as his cock hit your cervix.
"Shit, you feel so good."
Your cunt tightened around his cock, almost holding it hostage inside you.
"Oh fuck, yes. Just like that," he moaned as he bottomed out, his balls slapping against your taint.
You clit ached as he praised you. His thrusts grew wild and his pace quickened. He gripped your hips harder, driving his cock deeper inside you. Your body was slack, totally limp. Drool pooled in your mouth and gradually dripped from the corners of your mouth. Zeke let out a groan and filled you with his cum. You welcomed its warmth inside you.
"Shit," you muttered.
Zeke pulled out and you collapsed on the pavement.
"I'm not done with you."
He flipped you over so that your back was against the cool ground. He slid his fingers inside you, and pulled them out slick with his cum.
"Open your mouth."
You did as you were told and licked the cum off of his fingers.
"Atta girl."
Zeke spread your legs and started to suck his cum out of your cunt. You ran your fingers through his soft, flaxen hair. He looked up at you, his grey eyes flooded with desire. It would have been pretty sexy had his glasses not fogged up again.
You giggled. "You're so cute."
"Hmm?" He looked up at you and wiped his mouth.
"Your glasses. I don't know, they're adorable."
He took his thumb and started to rub circles around your clit. You let out a heavenly sigh.
"Adorable, huh? Haven't heard that in a while."
"It—oh fuck. It's true."
Zeke went back to eating your cunt. His lapped at your clit. His beard was rough against your thighs.
"P—ple—please don't stop," you whined.
Zeke started to suck on your clit. Your body became deadweight and your skin grew hot. You panted as he continued to suck and you bucked your hips against his mouth. The pleasure was almost too much to bear, too heavy a burden to carry. Was this bliss? Had you ascended to heaven?
"I—I'm gonna."
"Say my name, pet."
You moaned his name over and over again as he traced his tongue along your folds. You held his head in place and rutted against his face, repeating his name like it was your mantra.
"Oh Zeke," you said breathily. "That—that was—"
"Incredible, I know," he answered, pulling your shorts back up.
He stood up and helped you to your feet.
"So, you need a ride home?"
"No, I'll probably just get a Lyft or something."
He took you by the hand and led you back towards the street. It was still empty, not a soul around.
"Fuck that. Let me drive you. It's the least I can do."
"I live about an hour away though."
Zeke shrugged and adjusted his glasses. "Fine with me. More time for you to help me figure out my ERA. I suck at math; I need that beautiful brain of yours."
He winked at you and smacked your ass. Calculating an earned run average wasn’t particularly hard so you assumed he was joking.
"Come on. You're really gonna turn down getting fucked again in the back of a Rolls?"
