Dhzjdj ok wait I think I have more name lore, my mom and aunt got their names mixed
My aunt (1st daughter) was supposed to be named after yiayia's mom
But for some reason she got pappous' mom name
I'm not sure why, did they not like the name? Did the grandmas don't care?
But now that I think about it... my aunt is named after the great grandma that kidnapped my pappou so she might have been like GIVE MY NAME and maybe the other one was like eh I don't care
So yeah my aunt (1st daughter) and mom (2nd daughter) have the name the other was supposed to have
And I don't think my mom really likes it🤔 especially not how it's written in the ID and everything, it's the nickname version ending in -ουλα instead of the normal one, which she has cut again into a smaller and cooler version 😭
And bc she didn't like her name she wasn't sure if I would like mine, my yiayia is actually Ζαχαρω (Zaharo) which sounded bad and Zaharoula (nickname ppl called my yiayia) sounded too villagish or something
And then my aunt came up with Zaharenia (🥳) which everyone liked and it sounded more modern 🤣 (I guess)
Also my cousin was also a τάμα baby!
I think my aunt had like 6 miscarriages Before she did the τάμα to Χρυσοβαλάντο (I was not aware that whole name you mentioned was her title 😶) so yeah now my cousin's second name is Χρυσοβαλάντης tho no one calls him that, but yeah it's there
Also... kind of unrelated but I remembered the story of my pappous' adopted sister (I've made a post about the story) which long story short was baptized Maria but her adopted parents renamed her something else and she never questioned why she had a different name than what her papers wrote 😭 girl why were you even surprised when you found out you were adopted
Also yeah what you said in your tags-> People come join us with greek naming bs🤣
PS: I WAS WRITING THE TAGS AND I REMEMBERED THIS
I know twins. Boy/Girl with the same name.
Technically!!! This is a whole different case, cause they're Albanian
And they got their names by their parents, it's a mix of their parents name
Like for example the mom is Maria and dad is Yiorgos they got Morgos/a (fake name I'm not giving out the real one since it's unique and personal information)
But yeah the only difference is that the girl has an -a at the end
Like 😭 I get that it's weird, but I also love their name so much
I keep seeing reels with people being like "[Random name] is now an old people's name 😨😨😨😱😨😨😨" bc I guess everyone named their kids Emma or something 20 years ago so 5 year olds now think Emmas are old and the new cool name is Toyota or something
And this is so weird what the fuck is an old name
Do Americans all name their child something cause it's trending and then don't interact with the name again for the next 70 years?
Yall have too much freedom with naming (looking at you Elon musk) and it gives you problems. Forget the trends, embrace tradition💪💪💪💪 name your child after your parent like greeks have been doing what the hell is an old people's name💪💪💪💪👹👹👹😈👹💪💪😨💪🏴☠️🏁👽👽👽💪🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
For real tho I can't think of a name and be like "old people name" I can think of names I don't really like but not like ah yeah the γερικο όνομα. Even Katina. I know a young one yes.
#i kind of just realized there have been 3 kidnappings in my family#damn do i need to kidnap a child to embrace tradition??😭😂#oh also funny thing. my cousin is named kyriaki. everyone calls her Kiki (except her mom i think shes the only one calling her by her full#name😭) and I- as the clown I am- i call her Deutera (non greeks Kyriaki means Sunday i call her Monday) yeah i know im hilarious i laugh at#my own jokes#and sometimes my aunt is like can you please stop calling my daughter Monday?? Look aunt-who-shares-a-name-with-your-bro#my cousin Week answers to Monday and Tuesday and Thursday and Wednesday and weekend and whatever i call her she has accepted her fate#(i originally was calling her whatever day it was but i needed to know what day it was so i stuck to Monday mostly 😭) and yes i have called#her Savvatokyriako/Evdomoada anything. she answers to it😭💘#also i found out literally some months ago what my father's sister's name was. Both father and his sister disliked their names and changed it#gonna tag the post#greek name origin masterpost#name origin masterpost#😎

rome 2024 masterpost ❤️🇮🇹(+i couldve sworn there was a colloseum emoji but whatevs). we mostly saw stuff we learned abt - we took the medieval european + byzantine art course together, n i took one abt greek n roman art as well. ill try to keep it 1 reblog per day. day 1 was mostly The Worst Flight In History so. day 2, churchravaganza - santa maria maggiore / santa pudenziana / the mausoleum of santa costanza / santa maria in trastevere (w gio ❤️) / temple of portunus
under readmore bc i go on extremely long tangents but hey. blorbo from my degree!
santa maria maggiore (432) - the arc depicts events from jesus's life, like the annunciation. in the top center u can see the empty throne to which he is supposed to return, on which there is a bejewled throne. u can also see depictions of jerusalem and bethlehem (which r named), under each there r 6 sheep, representing the 12 disciples. the walls are decorated w mosaics of events from abraham and joshua's life. the pic i took (n learned abt) is the angels visiting abraham and sarah.
santa pudenziana (5th century) - the apse mosaic depicts jesus preaching to his disciples, and is visually very dependent and based on pagan depictions of a symposium. behind petrus and paulus are the martyred sisters pudentiana and praxedes, who some say are supposed to represent the dual origins of the early christian communities - the christian community of jewish origin, and the one of pagan origin. st pudentiana is apparently the patron saint of the phillipines, and the church is associated w filipinos.
the mausoleum of santa costanza (325-350) - dedicated by constantine to his daughter, constantina. constantina in italian - costanza (yes i was thinking abt george the entire time). the mosaics were made before the decision on the "standard" depiction of jesus in the same building, one as light haired and young and one as older and dark haired (christos twinkos and christos dilfos, as we call them in academia)

MY BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS WITH A DISORDER design masterpost! i won’t be sharing their full story here just because it’s super convoluted and i’ve only really been telling it by word of mouth. a few fun things i wanted to note on and clarify because i’m a linguistics nerd:
- the name she chose for herself, saphia, is technically a pun on 3 things. sophia, the feminine greek name from christian gnosticism that means wisdom to allude both to her lack of wisdom in her naïveté and her excess of traumatic knowledge, the sapphirina copepod (which i based the tentacles off of) which is a kind of parasitic arthropod (rubs my hands together evilly), and sapphire, the gem. despite growing attached to it, she never gets to use this name. i picked a name of a greek origin because the prefix neo (as in neo agent 3) is also hellenic 🫶
- nana named themselves after a banana. i named them after the nanacara anomala, the goldeneye cichlid, and musa, the genus that bananas fall into.
i use nana to refer nana as they are currently. saph will be used interchangeably with neo to refer to them With That Other Hairstyle in general depending on context (neo as a title, saph as a name)
ramble about pronouns under the cut because. geez
ok pronouns are subject to change actually because i’ve been wracking my brain over this for the past day. were they made intentionally to be a female inktoling? would tartar have tried to model its batch of inktolings after the male and female inkfish in society? would they have been born genderless? i feel like they would want to trend towards being female with the name they picked and the fact that they idolized female inklings. but ALSO if anything nana would use she/her. BUT i’ve gotten VERY used to using they/them for them and as they stand they already use she/they. i feel like nana being they/them nonbinary makes just as much sense because they’re a blank slate.
if anything i might just give up and make them use they/them the full way through, but my reasoning generally was that she was modeled to be feminine and idolized female inklings and wanted to be like them -> does not give a flying fuck about pronouns but presents pretty femininely so rolls with the two pronoun sets they get called the most -> was so disillusioned by the trauma of finding out they Live In A Society of which they no longer wish to participate in so they’ve completely abandoned the notion of gender. gender just becomes an afterthought. which i think is pretty funny.
i love dumping a bunch of complicated lore on my character that only i can understand. i am excited to solidify their story (and their pronouns. god) soon 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

Fern's Nehalennia Deep Dive: pt 1
Titles:
Stuurvrouw (Steerswoman), Vrouwe van de Noordzee (Lady of the North Sea), Wildmother
Meaning name Nehalennia
We're not really sure what the name Nehalennia means. She was honoured in an area that covers Roman, Briton, and Germanic tribes and peoples, so even her origin is unknown. Several theories of meaning are:
"recently caught" or "recently salted" - from "Net hael inne". (Huygens)
"new market" - from "ne halle" (Claude de Saumaise)
"new moon" - from "Nea Selene" (Olivier Vredius)
"Neel brings in" - from "Neel (personal name) hael inne" (Jacobus Lydius)
"to give food", "to provide" - from "Naera-Laena" (Laurens Pieter van de Spiegel)
"Goddess of the sea" - from "Neach Lenn" "exalted sea" (Marquis Du Chasteler)
"Virgin of sorrow/sadness" - from "Neh al Léan" (Eloi Johanneau)
"night, friendly moon-Goddess" - from "Neha-Lennia" (D. Buddingh)
"spinning Goddess" - from "Nera" or "Nere" meaning spinning (Grimm)
"pouring, gifting" - from "Neihen" or "Neehan" (H. Kern)
"Lady/Mother who envelopes/enrobes" - from "Neha Lenn" (H. Hardenberg)
"mist/fog" - from Proto Indo-European (PIE) *nebʰ- (wikipedia)
"spirits of the dead" - from Greek "nekués" and the PIE "nek-e/o" "to bring death" (wikipedia)
"leader", "steerswoman", or "She who leads a ship safely over sea" (Gijsseling) This interpretation is considered most likely, new information and spellings literally surfaced, helping Gijsseling come to this conclusion.
The Surfacing of Nehalennia
In 1647 in Domburg, Zeeland, the remains of a temple were found. Inside it, they discovered votive stones dedicated to a local Goddess: Nehalennia. Back then there wasn't really a historical society, and preserving the cultus of a pagan Goddess was not a priority. Some of the stones were moved to a church, where they were displayed underneath the stairs, with a leaky roof. Other stones were used as lawn ornaments for a rich proprietor. After a lightning strike the church burnt down, and the stones were lost. Many of the stones who had been on the lawn were irrevocably damaged.
But Nehalennia was not ready to be forgotten. On the 14th of April 1970 fisherman K.J. Bout found some strange stones in his fishing nets. He could have tossed them back, but instead he realized the value of these stones. He contacted the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden who sent a representative. While waiting, Bout fished up more stones, and part of what looked like a temple. Bout made his ship available for several diving trips, and over 240 votive stones surfaced.
Many of the stones depict a woman, sitting on a throne, or standing with one foot on the bow of a ship. She wears a very distinct pereline (a short shoulder cape), and holds a basket filled with apples, pears, and breads. Standing next to her sits her loyal dog companion. Most of the stones also hold an inscription, thanking Deae Nehalleniae for safe travel over sea. From the inscriptions we also learn that many of the people who made an offering were traders, hailing from Italy, Cologne, Brittain, Trier, and southern France. Through this magnificent find, we have learned a lot more about our "local" Goddess Nehalennia.
Over the years, more votive stones surfaced. Found in Trier, Cologne, Tongeren, and even some that might be Nehalennia in Brittain. All stones and remains have been dated to be between 150-250CE, and worshipers all come from a large area that encompasses Gallia Belgica, Germania Inferior, Germania Superior en Britannia. Even though Nehalennia is clearly also found outside the Netherlands, us Dutch people have laid a claim on her. Especially since two of her temples have both been found in Zeeland, she is seen as a local Goddess, and one we are very proud of. [Link to the Masterpost]

[The Amazing Digital Circus/Hazbin Hotel] - AU/Reimagining Masterpost
Thank you to everybody who took part in the recent poll, and the definite majority being seen for 'Yes' in the responses, especially in regards the enthusiastic response from @willowthefoxxo 's Reblog!
To provide context for why I've recently been making Non-Undertale/Deltarune Projects, whilst writing the Second Issue of the SwilTaett NEWSLETTER, I began to question what it would be like if I attempted making Concept Art for similar Indie Communities. But this doesn't mean that the rate of SwilTaett content will be decreasing!
The two projects I'll be showing here will likely be worked on the most when experiencing moments of Burnout whilst working on SwilTaett, or in sudden moments of inspiration.
First, despite being the second of the two in regards to their initial creation date, isThe 5-Star Digital Hospital!
An AU for The Amazing Digital Circus where each of the Humans is based on a respective time period and an individual part of the human body, while still maintaining the style of the source material! Each Cast Member has been renamed and given new lore to fit the time period they're based on (even though none of them are actually from these eras of history), so here are examples for each:
Pomni is now Tricul (Pronounced ‘trick-yull’, based on the scientific name for the stomach because of Pomni consistenly throwing up in both Episode 1/The Pilot and in Candy Carrier Chaos)! 'Tricul' also translates to 'Kicker' in Romanian, which is reflected in Tricul experiencing such an unexpected arrival to this unusual world.
Tricul's Design Style has also been changed to resemble how Pomni looks in The Amazing Digital Circus, with the best examples of how she'll look in later Concept Art seen in the bottom left of the image. Tricul even has her own 'Well, it's possible' Replacement, further hinting towards her representing the stomach.
Kinger is now Fector, based on the Effector muscles and glands seen in the Nervous System. He's also based on the Middle Ages, is noticeably less quick to be startled, and will likely act as a wise mentor to Tricul speaking in a similar way to how Kinger does to Ragatha in Candy Carrier Chaos while riding atop The Fudge.
Zooble is now Promexis (Pronounced ‘prom-E-six’), with the design now being based on Ancient Greek medicine and prosthetic limbs. Whether Promexis has control over these false limbs is quite the mystery among the Humans (in which the answer is yes), and whether they still can if they becomes one of THE INCURABLES (Abstraction Replacement, she does and it's probably one of the hardest FIGHTs).
Gangle is now Nestling, based on the Great Plague, Leeches and the Eye. There isn't as much to say about nestling, other than her Plague Doctor-Inspired appearance, as most of her time is spent crying in the break room.
Although also not dedicated to a specific Human, these Doodles were used to finalize front-facing expressions while also creating a list of Potential Nicknames (although definitely not all of these would be used because of how spontaneously), while also providing the first looks at Ragatha as Rammczi and Jax as Geronimo! Both are based on the Great War as their , but. Rammczi is based on the Heart (based on multiple interpretations of Raggedy Ann and the candy heart she's described as having, such as in 'Raggedy Ann Stories' (the original book by Johnny Gruelle where the painter's Mamma ), 'Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy' (1941, ), 'Raggedy Ann & Andy: A Musical Adventure' (1977, when Ann/Andy sing as a duet in 'Candy Hearts and Paper Flowers' and when 'I'm sorry, and I'd like to help you, but I'm only a ragdoll with a little candy heart-') and the 'Rag Dolly'/'Raggedy Ann: The Musical Adventure' (1986, which is also the only version with the candy heart stitched onto the outside, after Marcella says 'Look! (What?) She has no heart! (Sure she does, inside, you can't see a real baby's-)' before the song 'Carry On' begins)) and nurses seen on the Western Front.
Geronimo is instead based on 'GERTIE, The Wonderfully Trained Dinosaurus' from 1914, which is often regarded as the first animated character with her own personality. Geronimo also exists with the currently-unnamed Bubble Replacement in a group known as the 'Pearly Knights', with Jax represen and currently-unnamed \bubble representing the Wisdom Teeth. The Pearly Knights have their own pre-written lore in the world of the Digital Hospital (which is best seen in the Candy Carrier Chaos Replacement) that Geronimo had nothing to do with, even if he definitely would've if given the chance.
Although not being as different to his toothy counterpart in comparison to the Humans and their Original Versions, it's time to re-introduce Caine as Braine!
bbh (as Braine would've ended up doing surgery on her involuntarily, as Tricul suddenly replaces the Dummy that Braine was planning to use).
Braine having a brother to act as the Replacement to @sm-baby's (sorry for the notification!) Able has been considered and probably does exist somewhere in-universe, but no digital reference exists of him yet. His name would likely be Braune, allowing for the Caine & Able biblical reference to be paralled with 'Brains and Brawn' in The 5-Star Digital Hospital.
The only idea I've had for his design so far is a 3-fingered hand with eyes that resemble fingers, with pupils as the fingernails, which also has a hole in its wrist for the mouth.
There are designs and lore made for the Candy Carrier Chaos Replacement (including Design Reveals for Gummigoo and The Fudge), but I'll be adding that in a Reblog in order to keep this as short as I can due to this post being much longer than average, despite only being the first half.
-----------------------------------------------
The next project is Ring Around the Halo, a reimagining of Hazbin Hotel with new designs and lore, for both Heaven and Hell!
Just like what's happening for The 5-Star Digital Hospital, the lore for Ring Around the Halo will be much more open because of them not being the primary focus of this Tumblr Account. This is why I'll first be introducing this project through God's Design Reveal, as well as the changed structure to Heaven and Hell's Hierarchies!
Because the commonly-accepted design of God in Hazbin Hotel content was first a Headcanon Design Drawn by Voidseeker, I decided to make My Take on what God could look like for Ring Around the Halo, focusing on the Holy Trinity, the Word of God, and the Good Word spread by the Apostles of Jesus after His ascension.
This image also presents how the palettes of Sinners are decided upon entering Hell, with the Sin that led them to be seen as deserving of Eternal Damnation being a dominant part of their design.
It also shows the Reimagined Version of Angel Dust, with an appearance resembling a male Orb Weaver Spider. I'm not sure about whether his time period will be the same in this reimagining, as this version of Angel Dust has multiple parallels to a real-world person born in 1978, with a similar occupation (even with the Character Theme being reused from the same source)! I'd also made a Poster Redraw based on Angel Dust's films seen in backgrounds of Season 1, but I currently won't show it here for similar reasons to the anonymity of Angel's accidental real-life parallel.
Niffty's Reimagined Version is the most recent example of what Ring Around the Halo is currently planned to be like!
Niffty, formerly known as 恵子/Keiko in the mortal realm, was a Japanese child who was taken out of her education during the events of the Pacific War, and placed into a textiles factory. As the war progressed, higher demands were needed and longer shifts were put in place, some children having to work year-long shifts. As this would be the time when Keiko's brain would first start maturing, spending her life in the factory was responsible for her warped view of adulthood, focusing on the tasks and responsibilities expected of a typical housewife (as that was already what she was also being taught at school beforehand) and leaving that as all she now knows.
Her design in Ring Around the Halo still has her as a cyclops because of her having a one-track mind by the time she arrives in Hell, and her childlike appearance is kept as a representation of her childhood being taken from her because of the conflict she was forced into sewing work for, which is also why she wears a near identical version of her uniform. Niffty's bug-based activities and appearance also have an expanded cause because of her being Japanese. This is because children in Japan collect bugs in order to feel closer to nature, as well as cockroaches being the most common type of insect in Japan, having Niffty's new appearance in Hell cause her to remember herself as unclean and having a wasted time alive as just another worker.
Finally, here are the Reimagined Versions of Alastor and Vox as presented in 'Stayed Gone'! Vox's Design is the oldest that Ring Around the Halo has, even being made before a name for the Reimagining was finalized, which means that his and Alastor's Designs could become subject to change, as the concept has changed very much since then.
However, Alastor's censored face (which has an appearance inspired by the Lost SOULs from Asriel's FIGHT in Undertale) being a physical representation of having 'a face made for radio' is an element of his design that will remain unchanged if he is ever redesigned.
-----------------------------------------------
If you have any further questions about Ring Around the Halo or The 5-Star Digital Hospital, feel free to ask and make your own suggestions for what you'd like to see from these projects!

N109 Zone
This is the first part in my collection of lore from love & deepspace.
important info: anything that is italicized (after the quote) is conjecture based off of what we do know
masterpost
CONTAINS SPOILERS
"Once a bustling technology hub, it is now one of the most dangerous areas after the Catastrophe occurred. Surrounded by other no-hunt zones, it has evolved into a lawless land where danger and opportunity coexist. It is rife with violence and crime. With illicit trade and dangerous research, many of its activities are related to Protocores and Wanderers. Its many benefits have driven countless outlaws to risk their lives." - the game
Before the Catastrophe happened, the N109 Zone (i cannot find any information on what it was originally named) was a technology hub, a center for research. Ever, one of the biggest tech and research companies, was headquartered there, and after the Catastrophe the labs and research equipment were left abandoned.
The Hunter’s Association has 108 official No-Hunt Zones, which are areas deemed too dangerous to enter, the N109 Zone fits the criteria to be considered a No-Hunt Zone (the amplified presence of Wanderers* and the prolonged energy fluctuations) and by some reports the area is even more dangerous than typical No-Hunt Zones, but that might be due to the human factor.
Without the official classification as a “No-Hunt Zone” and the evacuation that comes with it, the area remained inhabited. Dangerous, devoid of any governmental resources**, and facing poor living conditions, many people turned to crime or other dangerous activities to survive. All of this chaos threw many factions into chaos, the region being home to many conflicts of power, although Onychinus is the largest and most powerful.
Much of that activity centers on the research and selling of Protocores, as well as the creation of weapons in a place known as the Odd Workshop. There have also been whispers of a project known as The Fountain of Atei, which wants “to transplant a Protocore into the human heart while implanting human consciousness into Wanderers (source).
The N109 Zone is a place where you can freely buy Protocores, firearms, and information. Much of these purchases go through a place known as Elysium, a reference to the Greek myth of heaven, signifying its place as a safe haven to illegal acts.
Despite being known for its criminals and other nefarious individuals, not everyone there is a willing participant in the illicit activities. Some people are stuck there, as the government never aided with evacuation efforts, those who couldn’t afford to relocate were left there to fend for themselves.
It appears that very little attempts to enforce the law or provide aid to the N109 Zone have been made by the government, which is just fine with the people who rule the wasteland, but can be a curse to the people forced to live there.
.*Although the Wanderer threat has reportedly been suppressed (we still see them there, and even fight some), danger still lurks.
** I think this bc the hunter’s association, a governmental entity, knows that the n109 zone is dangerous, MC talks about it,

deepspace babysitting horror scifi story masterpost
Premise
unadvisedly, with so much else on my plate, I'm contemplating a subversive mech vs kaiju story where humanity forms a strange, body horror-esque bond with monsters to repel sentient robotic invaders
after coming up empty-handed forever, I decided on the name for the monsters and by extension the project: progenitors revivification project
I didn't want to use something like leviathan or colossus, with obvious biblical or greek origins, when this is supposed to take place in the remains of an unnamed planet (not earth). they choose "progenitors" for the monsters as they found their remains in the depths of the shards and see them as some far-flung ancestor
the plot revolves around the second generation of progenitor pilots being trained on a secret deepspace mission
Setting
most of the story takes place on a spaceship called the Javelin but the characters originally lived on the splintered remains of an enormous planet. each Shard has its own community and environment, held together by a shield. the Shards themselves remain in the vague shape of a planet mid-explosion and don't drift off into space thanks to a tridecahedron gravity well in the dead center - a side for each Shard
12 of the Shards practice self governance while the 13th is Coalition territory and considered neutral ground. the Coalition has delegates and volunteers from all 12 Shards, acting as a cooperative body not unlike the UN (with considerably more power)
the Coalition acts for the good of the People. maybe not so much for the individual…
The Coalition
those born and raised on the Coalition Shard then chose a life in service to the Coalition—which most of them did—underwent a gruesome procedure. through surgical brain modification, their emotions were modulated, dimmed, capped. you couldn’t make them angry or sad and the smiles most often plastered on their faces were shallow. meaningless. it was supposed to eradicate distraction, personal bias, and put the public at ease. catastrophic failure for the latter.
thelnym (main oc) always thought it was like growing up around ghosts – they had the shape of humans, the faces, but they weren’t. not really.
some merciful force in the universe spared thelnym from that
the Coalition has two main branches: Administrative and Military. the Administrative branch is headed by the Chief Administrator and consists of several departments (judicial, science, resources). the Fleet Admiral heads the Military branch. only those in the administrative branch undergo brain modification surgery and must be performed voluntarily. those from other Shards decline the procedure most of the time. rumor has it this hinders their ability to rise through the ranks but officially this is stated not to be true. “modified Coalition member” is the official name for recipients of the surgery while colloquially they’re known by the less offensive “alt” (as in altered) and the much more derogatory “husk”
Main OCs
Thelnym Osgrove (they/them), one of the three original progenitor pilots and the sole survivor. they've been tied to the Coalition for a long time: a ward since early childhood, a progenitor pilot in their teens then spent the last 20+ years in isolated supervision (more info here)
Dr. Mithat Özgür (she/her), thelnym's caretaker and doctor. she's also a member of the Coalition administrative branch (more info here)
Vice Admiral Isamund Iris (she/her), technically retired from active duty, she was chosen to head the deepspace mission as a representative of the Coalition military (more info here)

lucifer gender symbolism essay part 1: mostly non-spn background, context, & caveats
masterpost
this section is about historical non-spn representations of lucifer as a feminine/female figure, and associations between lucifer/satan/etc and female and feminine entities. my purpose in this section is to connect lucifer supernatural to a bigger cultural phenomenon to give some context to the rest of the more spn-centric parts.
the devil presenting femininely is part of a cultural tradition that i expect kripke, various supernatural writers, and others involved in the making of supernatural were at least partially aware of. there are enough nods in supernatural canon to theology, mythology, and pop culture about the devil that it seems reasonable to suppose that the devil appearing with a variety of gender presentations was not a totally unfamiliar concept to the show’s creators, and might be deliberate seasoning stirred into the character we ended up getting.
part i: historical fem!lucifer part ii: lucifer as a cultural figure and gender norm breaking part iii: some of lucifer supernatural's various other political parallels
HISTORICAL FEM!LUCIFER
whether or not biblical angels have sexes or genders such that using gendered language to describe them even makes sense is a whole topic, but anyway. a lot of the early history of the figure of satan/the devil/the antagonist/etc is as a male figure, or at least written about using masculine terms. i’m going to take the male representations as a given and not go into all that here. i'm focusing on the other ones.
let's start with names. specifically, “lucifer” and “the morning star” (both in relation to the figure we know as the devil and not)
the roman goddess diana is sometimes known as “diana lucifera.” i’m just pulling from cicero’s discussion of that via wikipedia but here:
... people regard Diana and the moon as one and the same. ... the moon (luna) is so called from the verb to shine (lucere). Lucina is identified with it, which is why in our country they invoke Juno Lucina in childbirth, just as the Greeks call on Diana the Light-bearer. Diana also has the name Omnivaga ("wandering everywhere"), not because of her hunting but because she is numbered as one of the seven planets; her name Diana derives from the fact that she turns darkness into daylight (dies).
so, this isn’t about biblical lucifer, but still, the name has connections to a goddess here, and specifically in the context of childbirth (a traditionally gendered process).
the morning star is venus, a planet associated with one of the major roman goddesses, venus, whose femininity is important. this is kind of a circuitous connection; to the best of my knowledge, the reason for the connection between the devil figure and the morning star stems from the planet’s trajectory through the sky-as-seen-from-earth, that makes it look like it is falling from highest heaven downward, which is relevant symbolism. afaik, though, lucifer’s connection to that planet has nothing explicitly to do with any other goddess’s/god’s/other figure’s connection with it, so this is kind of a mood point. nonetheless, the two are connected now, even if they weren’t at origin. this planet is also associated with the goddess inanna/ishtar, as well as various other religious and mythological male figures.
so, there's that. now for representations of the devil as such ~
the reason i personally hopped onto the fem!lucifer train originally was lucifera, the representative of pride in edmund spenser’s the faerie queene, which i read the semester in college before i first watched spn! so that was a fun convergence, and made me especially excited when spn lucifer was played by women in their first three appearances. here’s part of a description of lucifera:
And proud Lucifera men did her call, That made her selfe a Queene, and crownd to be
this isn’t much, but it establishes her as a regal bitch immediately. she’s an interesting fixture i think, and afaik one of the earliest depictions of the biblical figure of lucifer as a feminine figure.
a lot of medieval paintings of genesis 3 depict the serpent as a kind of naga, with a long snake body and a woman’s face and torso. the serpent from genesis isn’t necessarily the devil, but because a lot of lore connects the two, including supernatural itself, that seems like as much fair game to mention here as most of the rest of this. medieval and renaissance depictions of figures that are more explicitly the devil are often sexually ambiguous, sometimes with breasts and a beard and a mouth instead of genitalia, among other interesting setups.
satan appears in female forms in a lot of folklore. this usually seems more instrumental than anything — as in, satan appears as a hot woman to seduce some guy to evil — but honestly, who’s to say if she just likes being a girl sometimes. regardless of the reason, this creates a cultural image of the devil as gender-shifting. lucifer spn appearing as sarah to nick and jess to sam etc is a good example of this trope.
there have been various other more recent pop culture depictions of satan/lucifer/the devil as a feminine figure, an androgynous figure, or as a woman specifically, some of which are outlined here. others are presented in per faxneld’s article “woman and the devil: some recurring motifs,” which i can’t link because it’s behind an academia paywall but i recommend it if you can get a hold of it.
probably there are more examples, but i feel like this is enough of a survey to prove my point that historical depictions of lucifer/satan/the morning star/whatever you want to call this figure are not exclusively male and masculine.
tl;dr: lucifer the mythological figure and the appellations lucifer/the morning star are not uniquely masculine, and they have long histories of genderweirdness. depicting the devil as a feminine, female, androgynous, or ungendered figure is part of an established cultural tradition. imo, picking up evidence that lucifer supernatural is being represented as a feminine figure is not a reach.
LUCIFER AND GENDER NORM BREAKING
cw for discussion of irl sexism in religious doctrine (and some mentions of homophobic and transphobic sentiment with religious underpinnings) through much of this section.
so, ok. the intricacies of scriptural feminism are wayyy beyond what i am adequately educated on to speak about in depth. i’m also much more familiar with christianity than other religions, so i will mostly be speaking to that unfortunately. but. i gotta talk about it a little, because it’s important culturally as background for why fem!lucifer is an established trope.
an example of someone who knows more than me writing about this, as a jumping off point:
Phrasings like ‘Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord’ (Eph. 5:22), and the ways in which they have been used to serve patriarchal ends, make it easy to see why some feminists would later view God as the protector of patriarchy (and, occasionally, Satan as an ally in the fight against it).
— Woman and the Devil: Some Recurring Motifs (Per Faxneld)
this is basically the foundation for a lot of this. god the father is the patriarch, who demands subjugation from men to him, and from women to both him and to men. satan, god's antagonist, might plausibly want the opposite of that.
in john milton’s paradise lost, satan as the serpent certainly uses an anti-patriarchal angle when trying to tempt eve to eat the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, telling her that there is no reason she should be lesser than adam, or even lesser than god, that eve is smart and impressive already, that god can’t really be all that great if he is jealous enough of his creations to deny them their full potential — and so she should eat the fruit for the sake of knowledge, and of power. this obviously doesn’t go well; milton did not intend this to make eve or satan seem admirable at the time. but idk, i’m not a 17th century protestant. imo what satan as offering was pretty sweet; i don't feel like there's much wrong with it. i got got by milton's trap lol. satan’s motives were rotten in PL, but even so, he kind of identified with eve at the same time as trying to get her to fall: he was basically luring her down the same path he took that led to his own fall. his temptation worked because he and the first woman had a lot in common. while his intentions were bad, the emotions behind them put him and eve in parallel to each other. regardless of whether this was a good or bad thing, it does position satan as someone who gasses up and identifies with Thee woman in PL.
the supernatural lore on temptation and the garden interesting in this context as well. i can only speak to season 5, but within kripke era, lucifer is described as having tempted lilith, not eve — but that is a relevant tie-in as well. lilith is a figure who refused to be subservient to man also, of her own accord, so to connect that to lucifer and temptation aligns lucifer once again with an anti-patriarchal stance. i will also stress that throughout s4-5 the description of the interactions between lucifer and lilith are of temptation, not torture, which parallels the eve story.
(certainly these temptations can be looked at as being anti-feminist as well. personally i'm more into inspecting the parallels between satan and eve or lucifer and lilith (and doing that is the most on-topic direction for the argument i'm trying to make here), but there are a lot of other good frames for analysis of these dynamics as well. just acknowledging that this, like everything else about this character, is slippery.)
lots of disliked and norm-breaking women — and gnc people, and genderqueer people, and trans people — have been described as devilish or of the devil or as worshipping the devil subsequently to demonize them. you can probably think of at least a handful of examples. in a very simplified way, to people who are on board with biblical patriarchy, anyone who isn't is bad news. who else is bad news? the devil. match made in hell.
obviously all of this is super misogynistic and part of a long tradition of religious vilification of women. “women are inferior because eve succumbed to the devil; women are the reason humanity exists in a fallen state,’ etc. my let's-complicate-satan agenda does not extend to trying to minimize the harm that has been done by associating some groups with the devil. the devil is, almost all the time, just a different way of calling someone or something fundamentally evil, and it is not good to go around aligning marginalized people with that figure who do not want to be associated with it. that is something that has happened a lot, to a lot of people’s detriment, and it has been used for a lot of human rights violations — which is relevant here, for better or for worse.
"for better" because sometimes, people decide that if they're going to be called evil anyway, they might as well embrace the devil, and turn him into a symbol to rally behind. and the devil is a pretty badass symbol, all things considered. people are scared of him — of her — and having people fear you and your allies can be a lot better than being subjugated.
again, you can probably think of examples of this. a lot of people lean into witch stuff even without being practitioners of witchcraft specifically for feminist or gender-subversion reasons. same sometimes goes for succubi and other demonic entities. lil nas x’s “montero” made ample use of edenic and demonic imagery (including that fucking fabulous fall from grace via pole) to represent queerness. lots of people in the supernatural fandom have Feelings for meg and ruby and other demons who are ostensibly female characters with significant roles on a show mostly about men, etc. there are also examples of satan being good for women in gothic literature, some uses of satan as a subversive rhetorical device for lesbian causes, etc (i’m referencing in passing various things from per faxneld’s book “Satanic Feminism: Lucifer as the Liberator of Woman in Nineteenth-Century Culture” for these last). satanism and luciferianism aren’t necessarily concerned with worshiping satan/lucifer, but they do use the names of that figure for their ideologies, which also aren’t necessarily explicitly feminist but do place a pretty heavy emphasis on free thought, self-empowerment, subversion of tradition, and liberation.
tl;dr: the devil has a history of being used to vilify and empower subversive individuals and cultural movements, including feminist and queer ones. as in the previous section, imo this makes interpreting lucifer supernatural’s gendered portrayal as feminine and/or genderweird part of a well-established, morally complicated cultural tradition.
an opinion: in stories where the devil is a (failed) rebel, i think it’s really compelling to give the devil figure characteristics that put them in opposition with the reigning power. there’s something about the devil being a mirror for god as well, of course, but it speaks to at least some versions of The Disenfranchised Experience to have lucifer be Different in a pivotal way. someone who wanted equality/freedom/whatever, but was denied it, and was therefore unendingly punished, but never lost their pride…it isn’t necessarily empowering; lucifer's revolutionary story can be a cautionary one (e.g. “this is what happens if you lean into the bad things people assume about you and let yourself become overcome by hate”), but it’s…idk it’s something. it’s interesting, at the very least. the villain era phenomenon speaks to it; the buttress’s song “brutus” that was circulating on everyone’s spotify discover weekly a few years ago speaks to it…it’s gripping. it’s a relatable antihero or villain story to many, i think.
(a few people in the tags of this post about satan in paradise lost, which makes no mention of gender or sexism, assumed that the post was about reacting to sexism and/or cissexism, which i thought was interesting and relevant also lol)
SOME OF LUCIFER SUPERNATURAL’S VARIOUS OTHER POLITICAL PARALLELS
[cw for mentions of fascism and other violent ideologies]
i want to be super clear that My Agenda here is not to use gender to try to make lucifer seem like a better or worse character, morally or in quality. imo whether lucifer reads as more feminine or more masculine or both or neither is morally neutral. beyond that, i fully recognize that supernatural’s lucifer is represented in ways that align him with a range of political metaphors, both reprehensible and sympathetic, that are difficult to disentangle from each other. if i’m going to talk about the character’s implied alignment with subversive movements and marginalized groups, i would feel remiss not to acknowledge that kripke’s lucifer is also explicitly an ecoterrorist — an ecofascist, even. in many ways, this character is written to mirror the way Some People feel that they are entitled to shape the world to their own liking, disregarding human life at their own whim. it’s not for nothing that the actor who plays the most recognizable version of lucifer on spn is a blonde white man; there’s symbolism there that must have been more important to the show’s creators than alternative directions they could have gone with casting purely on the basis of demographics/appearance, and that makes sense. i understand why people would compare supernatural’s lucifer to the boys’ homelander, for example; i’ve written meta about the parallels between them myself. i think the comparison is apt in many ways.
however, while homelander is a specific villain tied to specific current political and cultural issues, lucifer is more abstract than that, and as such is harder to fit into specific contemporary human ideologies. any version of lucifer/satan/the devil/whatever fits into a HUGE mythology, and when you write a sympathetic devil character — especially one deliberately and explicitly inspired by sympathetic devils of the past — you are inevitably ringing the same bells other sympathetic devil characters have rung before. and supernatural did not shy away from connecting its version of lucifer to that mythology! kripke’s lucifer is, paradoxically, a lot harder to pigeonhole as Bad through a contemporary lens than homelander is because lucifer is part of a myth that touches a huge number of times and cultures, rather than a direct commentary on and product of a particular modern american context.
the “taking the lives of others i deem unworthy” perspective is bad, but it’s also what hunters do, at a different scale. supernatural from the start has been a show that features situations designed to question the ethics of its protagonists as well as its villains, and lucifer is one of THE examples of that. pretty impossible to build a lucifer based on milton’s satan and not have him come across at least partially as a rebel against injustice (even if he has gone rotten in the process) and everything else that milton’s devil was. hard to do the devil-as-a-woman trope and not make her part of that tradition along with all it entails, misogynist and feminist alike. lucifer spn doesn’t fit tidily into political or identity boxes because he’s written to be harder to categorize than that — that’s part of the horror, and it’s part of what makes the heavy-handed connections to sam (and dean) all the more unsettling.
so
with all of that said
let’s get into lucifer’s genderweirdness on supernatural ~

Hi! I am not sure if this is the right way to do an ask, and I am not sure if you are the right person to ask, but in my worldbuilding, I am primarily basing my world off of an extrapolation of medieval alchemy.
Medieval alchemy is highly based off of works of arabic alchemists, and so on the one hand, I would like to incorporate arabic into my naming convention for vehicles (I am not worrying about characters yet).
On the other hand, I am an american with very little if any connection to cultures which use arabic, and I don't want to unwittingly stumble into a situation where I misuse the language and it becomes a source of problems for me or other people later. I have felt comfortable using greek and latin in naming convention because of their well-known connections to scientific naming schemes and alchemy.
I don't want to inadvertently offend anyone with my setting's design, but the language looks cool, and seems like it would fit really well given my setting's ties, is this something where sufficient research can help me do it properly? Is it something I should avoid to make sure that I am not offending anyone?
Again, apologies if you aren't the right person to ask or this isn't the right way to do an ask.
For clarity and direction on how to model and shape your worldbuilding efforts from a perspective of cultural sensitivity, you may consider consulting the fine folks over at Writing With Color; @writingwithcolor; who have assembled a delightful "general topics" masterpost that includes sections on worldbuilding and character building (creation and culture).
As for borrowing and adjusting naming conventions of other languages, never apologize for curiosity. Sometimes, we simply don't know something is mistake until we ask ourselves, "Wait, is this a mistake?"
To start, Islamic researchers, scientists, academics, and thinkers formed the foundation of what much of the world considers to be "modern" mathematics, astronomy, geography, linguistic scholarship and language translation, medicine, poetry, and more. It's easy and tempting to segregate different historical cultures or regions as we go back in time, but the truth is that it's all intertwined and mixed up (fun fact: We all use Arabic. It's just that most of us don't know it.). Arabic contributions to the Spanish language in particular? That's a serious rabbit hole of research. Global influence of Islamic architecture? Highly fascinating, and research that fills several peer-reviewed journals, textbooks, and dictionaries. Old libraries? Check out the history surrounding the House of Wisdom, also known as the Grand Library of Baghdad (destroyed in 1258 CE), for one of many examples.
I begin with this exploration of cultural mesh because when building a fantasy world that includes glimpses, touches, or influences from known historical periods, you have to dig around to know from where (or what) you're starting. You can't create something new and firm if you don't first have a solid idea of where you're starting from.
In the case of a fantasy environment that focuses on alchemy, with elements from the Arabic language and ostensibly from historical Islamic scientists, consider narrowing your focus those areas of study that will most heavily influence your story.
Curious about intellectual movements? Science? Medicine? A deep-dive into the Arabic Enlightenment may help (The House of Wisdom: How Arabic Science Saved Ancient Knowledge and Gave Us the Renaissance by Jim al-Khalili; The House of Wisdom: How the Arabs Transformed Western Civilization by Jonathan Lyons). Art and natural science? Search for resources that offer a passing glance on the origins of science in medieval Islam (Science in Medieval Islam: An Illustrated Introduction by Howard Turner).
The point is to take a few steps back, before you take a few steps forward. You can get around not knowing the language, and you can circumnavigate your lack of firsthand experience with a culture, by deepening your knowledge of the language's origin and of the culture's most essential inflection points.
But it's all connected (e.g., I've worked my way through dozens of sources of medieval combat and warfare, and the same is true of arms, armor, and fortifications). Ultimately, you have to find your starting point (and stick to it). It's a lot of work, I know. But you don't have to read whole books. For example, you can try snagging a .pdf, and then read only two or three chapters, since those areas are the most relevant to your research needs (e.g., al-Khalili's book has chapters called, "The Lonely Alchemist," "Big Science," and "The Physicist," and Turner's book has a chapter on alchemy, plus separate chapters on astronomy and non-scientific astrology).
By understanding the foundation for the disciplines you use and the foundational cultures from which you take inspiration and influence: your language choices will be more accurately-sourced; your worldbuilding choices will be more detailed and lived-in; and your framing and contextualizing of these terms and influences will be more realistic and consistent.

My Hetalia Fic Lore Masterpost #1: Etruria
Hello everyone! I've decided that I'm writing too much ancient Hetalia fanfic for my own good, and have decided to create a series of posts explaining various OCs and/or events so that you guys don't have to read like 6 different things to understand what the heck is going on.
We'll start with one of my favorite OCs, Etruria, who's a minor deal in Brutus and Achilles and a massive deal in The Tyrrheniad :)
Etruria (~900 BC-351 BC) whose human name was Mamarce, was a personification of the region of Etruria in central/northern Italy. Etruria was never unified, but rather a collection of city-states. Why didn't I make a bunch of OCs instead of just Mamarce? Mostly for the symbolism, but we'll get to that later.
Mamarce was fairly lonely growing up, with his only real companions being two wolves who he had tamed. He admired the Greek city states to his south, and desired to be admired by them back, but they thought he was a try-hard and made fun of him for being scrawny and barbaric.
Around 750 BC, his luck turned around when a bunch of humans brought him a child who was rumored to be immortal. This child ended up being his brother, Romulus (Rome!) who he loved dearly. Despite all the Greek states making fun of him, Mamarce had a bit of a golden age where he controlled the western Mediterranean and a vast amount of territory in Italy. This golden age began to end, however, when Rome overthrew its Etruscan monarchy in 509, and Etruria lost the Battle of Cumae in 474.
I'm not going to give many details because I want to avoid spoilers for people who haven't read my works, but Mamarce had three children, Tuscany (Thefarie/Tiberius/Tiberio Mamercio), Parma, and Modena. In 358, after growing tensions between him and Romulus, he went to war against Romulus, during which he was killed. He was buried in a tomb in the necropolis of Tarquinia, and his children were adopted by Romulus.
Interestingly (and extremely relevant in Brutus and Achilles) Mamarce's death became the origin of Romulus and Remus myth at some point after his death.
Mamarce is featured in the following works:
The Tyrrheniad--This is the major fic involving Mamarce. It documents his relationship to Romulus throughout the centuries, starting with Romulus' discovery and ending with Mamarce's death.
Brutus and Achilles--This is actually the first fic that Mamarce appeared in! It takes place in 1859 AD, so a long, long time after Mamarce died, but frequent reference is made to his death, and his body appears in the chapter "Frater Meus." The main plot, however, concerns Lovino and Herakles trying to kill Feliciano, Sadik, and the Kingdom of Sardinia.
Hetalia Poetry Collection, "The Burial of Mamarce"--One of the poems in my Hetalia Poetry Collection. Describes Mamarce's burial.

C92: Slime!
I Have to Be a Great Villain - Masterpost
Wang Yi takes the slime back to his lab as a test subject, with mixed results and one very unpleasant surprise...
(Slime is banging on the glass again)
Slime: BOOM BOOMBOOM
Wang Yi: It was obviously stable before, but why's it acting up as a soon as a human comes?
S-0: Not sure…
Slime: THOOM WHOOM
S-0: The System didn't manage to trace the specific origins of this organism either, so it must be something made-up by the novel.
WY: But since it has such high survivability, it's pretty fitting to offset Dr. Wang's lunatic tendencies. [Otherwise I'd really have to kill off multiple experimental subjects to uphold this persona.]
(Thanks to previous experiences, he's a bit reluctant to be proactive.)
Slime: !
S-0: If you need it, you might as well take it back?
Slime: Hungry…so hungry.. …
[Specification | NOTE: Humans cannot hear the slime.]
S-0: At any rate, the plot armor's protecting the mermaid so it can't leave, so you have to torment something…
S-0: EH?!
WY: !
WY: It's…clinging?
Slime: *sucking noises*
WY: (It's kinda cute.)
WY: (Is it coincidence or…?) *moves his hand*
Slime: ?
Slime: *shuffle shuffle*
WY: ….
S-0: !
[Assignment | MAIN PLOT MISSION: Meet the female lead for the first time]
[Office for Requesting Research Samples]
WY: That mermaid's mine. Just tell the higher-ups Wang Yi applied for dissection permissions.
Xiao Yu (晓雨): Oh, hold on a minute while I check.
[Female Lead: Xiao Yu - Research lab newbie]
XYu: T-that there, I'm sorry…
XYu: Currently dissections are prohibited on the [mermaid] because it's too beautiful and humanlike. They were thinking of observing it a while longer…
WY: HA?
XYu: Ah, but if you need to, we can send over a few scales or strands of hair for DNA analysis.
XYu: (Is he the lab's famous eccentric researcher? Why's he all about dissection first thing…)
WY: How could that possibly be enough!
WY: (This is a plot point to increase meeting opportunities between the male and female leads. Since the male lead can't read minds and seems uninterested in me, then let's just progress the story and see what happens first.)
WY: EVEN IF I CAN'T DISSECT IT, I STILL WANT HIS FLESH AND BLOOD!
XYu: B-but staff like us aren't allowed to…
XYu: (Eccentrics really are scary QAQ…)
WY: NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE!
WY: I'll give you one week.
WY: *idiotic bully mode activated - please don't imitate in real life* If you can't resolve a little thing like that, don't think about staying in the lab any longer.
WY: (The female lead in this world's the weak and timid type.)
XYu: Wehh…I, I'll do my best… (Is it fine if it's just blood?)
WY: (As long as I keep putting on the pressure, she'll go meet the male lead in secret right?)
—
XYu: Please can you…give me a little blood?
Mermaid: ?
—
WY: (Why does it feel like I'm encouraging someone to NTR myself?)
[NTR: an online slang term referring to a situation where someone else claims your partner for him/herself]
WY: Hmph, I suppose you know what to do.
WY: Then I'll also apply for the specimen【X】 because it can't die, so dissecting it should be no issue, right? [The specimen's ID is χ*]
*(I think author means Greek alphabet Chi?)
XYu: Oh! 【X】?
XYu: That specimen's always slamming against its tank when researchers pass by, so everything thinks it wants to attack humans. That's why no one's dared to take it away…
XYu: Mmph! Sorry, I said too much again! (Even though the head wants someone to experiment on it ASAP)
WY: (So the black blob charges as soon as it sees humans?)
XYu: You can take 【X】 though.
XYu: But…be careful.
WY: It's fine.
WY: Since I chose this path, I have to do it well.
WY: That's the duty of us researchers.
XYu: *sparkling eyes* …..
XYu: (Huh, he's pretty responsible isn't he.)
XYu: T-then I'll help put your name down. Do you want 【X】 to be delivered to you or…
WY: I'll pick it up myself.
WY: Immediately.
[Dr. Wang's Research Lab]
(Wall reads: National Security Intelligence….)
WY: It's not very big, but it's pretty heavy. *sets down*
S-0: Yeah. How fascinating that something so squishy could be so aggressive.
WY: Not necessarily. Maybe it just wants to get close to humans.
S-0: Hah?
S-0: You think any of these tormented, locked-up specimens could ever like the researchers who hurt them?
WY: Tch, you have a point. The reason the mermaid could love the female lead was because she was the only one who treated him well and saw him as a friend.
—
XYu: Ha~ *draws a heart*
—
WY: A lunatic like me who only takes specimens back to cut them up…
WY: It's already great if they don't hate me instead.
S-0: Is Host going to start…experimenting now?
WY: *opens lid* Mhm. I'm going to make an incision and cut off a piece to test first. (The soul of a scientist)
Slime: Hungry… so hungry.
Slime: Are you going to give me food… …human.. …
Scalpel: *slice*
Slime: ?! HURTS!
WY: Huh? This part can still move even after it's been cut off.
Slime: Hurts so much…hurts so much…
Slime: This human, isn't the one X is looking for… …?
Slime: It's been so, so long…since I've been able to absorb energy.
Slime: If this keeps on, I'll probably go berserk soon… …
WY: It's insect-like, but doesn't seem to be an Earth-based organism.
Slime: Since he's not the human I've been looking for.. …
Slime: THEN X——
Slime: CAN EAT HIM, RIGHT?
WY: (So soft…)
Slime: X——
Slime: WILL START MOVING NOW. *whoooosh*
WY: EH?!
Slime: *splat*
WY: (Why did it climb onto my face)
WY: (Wahhhhh, get off already!)
WY: (It's going to climb inside my ear!)
WY: (Gotcha!)
Slime: *snaps*
WY: ?!

…Alright then!
There’s a LOT I wanna say about them so it’s all under the cut lol
• Basically their entire world revolves around ✨magic✨ and the magic used is loosely based off of a bunch of shows and games I like (mainly The Owl House, Last Airbender, Infamous, and Elemental Battlegrounds)
• In total, I have 12 OCs in this world
• I’m actually planning on rambling more about them once I post art of them but I’ll just say some footnotes here
• Macy was the first OC I created! She was also the first thing I posted here on this blog so she has a special place in my heart
• Like all of my OCs, I gave Iris bits and pieces about my personality to build hers. She personally inherits my affinity for biology and music (mainly lo-fi and LGBTQ-esque artists)
• Marcus is basically the stereotype of characters that experience joy and whimsy despite having gone through soul-crushing trauma
• Liam is a shy book boi. Also I didn’t really take nationalities into consideration for most of these guys, but Liam would have a Greek background to coincide with his love for Greek Mythology
• also those two fucking died (no elaboration lol)
• Kumiho went through the most name changes out of all of my OCs (Originally, I named them Kit, then I named them Cho before changing it to Sunny, and I fully decided to name them Kumiho 3-4 months ago)
• With the exception of two OCs, I originally created all of them in Gacha Club cuz my drawing skills were absolute shit at that time. Most of them deviate from how I draw most of them now, but Zac still has the beanie I originally gave them.
• They also inherited my love for 2010s and Indie music (and also MCR)
• Jadeyn’s hoodie is based off of the floors you’d see in an 1980s-1990s arcade and godamn is it a pain in the ass to draw
• C is hands down my favourite OC but it still doesn’t change the fact that I gave him trauma and (Redacted because it spoils their backstory) [I have a OC masterpost on my pinned post if ya wanna read it :>]
• Aaron’s a fairy with cyberpunk-inspired clothes and Lance is an android with medieval-ish clothes and concept wise, that sounds pretty cool :> (also they’re dating)
• Mercy and Geno were conceptualized after I saw a post that said, “ ‘let’s run away together’ trope fucks me up bc it’s almost always doomed. but what if it’s not this time”
• I also made Mercy and Geno at the same time! And for pronounciation of Geno’s name, think of the word Genocide (also yes, I realized their names are some kind of undertale reference lol)
Hey moots, do you guys wanna learn more about my OCs they’re all gay and traumatized-

omg i love your pvz ocs sm... picking them up and shaking real hard rn... do u have any sort of masterpost where i could read up on them?? im looking intensely
HEYO I- EBUEEBUBUEBUEBUE *dies*
this makes me so so happy since just like a month ago my love for pvz returned pretty hard like......... omg omg i'm so so happy to hear ppl liking my fellas. and!! might seem really unprofessional but i don't have a master post for them, i just share stuff about them as i please! but!! think i can spare sum info here!! + links to their designs!
Game Bug (genderqueer, he/they/xe) - Hero version of Arcade Zombie, mixed a bit with Computer Scientist! He's professional in kicking plants' butts and gaming. One of the smarter zombies here, his superpowers include technological advancements, force field creation, teleportation, creation of sizzles/electricity (but not the same as Boogaloo), xe can also corrupt codes and hack into anything! their civilian alter-ego/true ID is Harris Ricci, he's of italian descent and a dedicated librarian in his free time. He LOVES sci-fi/fantasy books, video games and quantum physics. He's your typical introverted nerd but when you give xem time, xe'll grow on you.
High Tide (trans man, he/him) - Hero version of Surfer Zombie! a very sporty zombie with a love for water sports, especially surfing and high diving, a true beach boy. fights in flip-flops because he doesn't tolerate any other shoes. his powers include hydrokinesis and a bit of control over the air (since it contains H20 but he can mostly bend the sea breeze). his hydro powers are special though, he can bend any liquid, change the state of it (into either solid, liquid or gas state) and some more tricks he knows. He works as a part-time firefighter and lifeguard, but there he's known as your sweet Oliver Chandler. He's a himbo and a ray of sunshine that's it. he's lucky though! Neptuna and him are dating!
Dazzling Starr (demigirl, she/her) - The star of the show! A well-known glam musician who also happens to be a zombie hero. She's a multi-instrumentalist and can even play on weirdest instruments out there, but she mainly uses her beloved guitar to deliver some killer solos. Her powers include manipulation and generation of sounds. pretty much vanquishes plants with guitar riffs. she can also hypnotize them! yes! hypnotizing music! She can pretty much bend mf physics and cause a mini earthquake when she stomps her foot. a buff girl do not mess with her or else she'll squeak you like a toy. her hero name was originally just her stage name, but now she's a beloved hero! her civilian ID is Deborah, or Debbie, she has some spanish roots. and! she's married to Electric Boogaloo (who's a #1 husband and can't stop talking about how much he loves his wife) and has a teenage daughter!
Millisecond (cis male, he/him) - Interstellar Bounty Hunter and an Assassin, works on the space zombie black market (yes i know how this sounds like) offering assassination services. He has amazing aim, but his superpower is super-speed! He can run around 10,000km in a minute (forgive my european ass i dunno how to use miles) and not be seen, as he really can run up fast. knows every corner of space, and is wanted in like 40 galaxies. Dr. Zomboss hired him to get rid of the plant heroes, but instead he got adopted by the zombie heroes that are now his found family. His name is in fact Alasdair Diamantis (but gets called Atlas), as he has greek roots. He and Rustbolt are dating! they're boyfriends and very in love.
Beatrice "Betty" (cis female, she/her) - Dazzling Starr and Electric Boogaloo's teenage, 16 year old daughter, embodiment of 2000s emo/scene mixed with rock 'n' roll and disco. yes. She's one hell of an edgy teenager, she's a part of the team as she works as some sort of sidekick/beloved niece of the zombie heroes. she has superpowers, it was passed to her genetically! she has electricity + sound manipulation mixed, but she doesn't want to be a hero in future, she wishes to be a drummer and she's actually amazing at playing on the drums! she has a part-time job though, thank to Rustbolt, she babysits the Imps at Z-Tech factory. Says she's only nice to them because they pay her for babysitting them, but she has a soft spot for those little buggers. also a hardcore mlp fan
i'm working on a lotta more, but i'm so so happy you think so about my fellas like that. that truly made me so happy <33
