hi! i’m wondering what foods you eat/don’t eat to help with endo? :) i really appreciate the resources u share :) thank you
It's different for everyone so it takes time and I don't really recommend following someone else's diet cause I am of the belief what you stomach well has to do with where your ancestors are from and also physical constitution in Chinese medicine varies more than just like having endo or not! I personally eat a lot of small farm non gmo meat from what's local which is a lot of stuff in PA, local seasonal vegetables (most squash, potato, and leafy greens), bone broth, spices and herbs, drink matcha everyday, and cook strictly in high quality grass fed butter, ghee, or beef tallow! it is expensive and daunting at times but overall I think I save money now that I cook a lot and have a really organized fridge/pantry over just shopping on a whim and trying to make random meals from it. It's a big commitment to make but if you've ever gotten so sick that you lose your mobility and ability to do basic functions, I think it becomes clear it's worth the money in a very health is wealth way.
I personally can't stomach gluten, onion, or garlic (I use scallion instead) but I am not of the opinion any of those things are bad for you! And I'd like to eventually be able to eat them again when my stomach and nervous system has healed. I also do not eat seed oils, which although controversial and really political now - I think comes down to it being a super cheaply made product and has more to do with how its made than what the main ingredients are! That's probably the hardest one to avoid but I do feel different when I am strict about it but it def eliminates most eating out options realistically which I know for most people just doesn't work.
It might be worth it imo to find some quizzes online for what your chinese medicine physical constitution says you need vs looking up "endo diet" and learning more about eating and lifestyle habits that come along with it because I think even if you eat super organic whole foods all the time if you aren't sleeping and resting and working out I think it can only do so much on it's own!
Americanized health sciences do not understand the root cause of endo (and they admit that fully) so I think there's very little information or help to be harvested from people who consider themselves experts on the topic unless they themselves have endo and have found things that have made a huge difference for them - but otherwise I think western perspective on endo and the body is very small and rigid and worth exploring outside of as a good place to start if what's been given as resources to you so far hasn't changed things in a meaningful way for you!

So I honestly hope this doesn't sound like a stupid question or anything but: since you're very knowledgeble on this kind of stuff I thought I might ask you: do you know any way to increase melanin on the skin? I'm southern european so I've always kind of had a tanned skin/olive skin. I wanted to ask you if you know anything that might help with the production of melanin as I've noticed as I get older, my skin has gotten more fair and I accept that but I've always preferred how I looked the darker my skin was. l don't want to tan under the sun too much because I want to avoid damaging my skin. Do you know if there's any supplement I could take?

Eating carrots regularly helps to have that natural glow from within, thanks to the carotene, it also gives you a nicer tan if you do choose to do so at some point. (By the way : I’ve noticed that ever since removing/reducing seed oils from my diet, my skin has become much more resilient, and way less sensitive to the sun, so you might want to try that)
Also, consuming organic animal fats and proteins (not in excess) contributes to an overall more lively skin tone! Think grass fed ghee, free range eggs, and grass fed beef liver. Its also very good for your hormones.
As far as supplements, I have no idea if there are any to significantly increase your melanin production, and to be honest even if there are, id be weary.
You’re better off just eating well, truly nourishing your body from within so that your skin has all that it needs to be naturally radiant!

That was me in the middle of my burnout and it's brought me to learn so much about combining the right foods to have the best energy and stay full longer. I learned how STRESS can be managed by doing something as simple as changing up the first meal of the day.
So what's the solution? It's all about managing and balancing your blood sugar levels. When you have foods that spike your blood sugar, that creates a stress response in the body which
leads to producing insulin creating a big blood sugar drop as a result.
Ever feel that huge crash after having a donut and coffee for breakfast?
A study out of Harvard from Dr. David Ludwig: gave three children the exact same caloric intake for breakfast but in different forms. One had oatmeal, the other steal cut oats and the third an omelette.
The first, had a huge increase in adrenaline and cortisol as the body perceived the food as *stressful* and left the kid more hungry and feeling frustrated. The one who had the omelette on the other hand felt satiated and had no abnormal blood sugar spike.
How can you manage your blood sugar levels? With a healthy combinations of protein, fat and fiber.
Protein: think eggs, fish or meat (get wild caught or grass-fed & pasture raised when possible) Fiber: think veggies and fruit (be careful with very sweet fruits) Fat: think ghee, avocado, nuts, coconut milk
This is why every morning I make sure to have a combination of protein, fat and fiber.

But cut out corn syrup now, and dyes, look at the ingredients on your foods
I only buy organic because I’m kind of a freak and I like to spend $700 on just food every month for me and my kid
You don’t need to cut out sugar just yet if that’s a problem for you. If I cut out sugar totally I binge. I buy honey and real maple syrup to use throughout the day instead of sugar as well. Example, maple syrup in sweet potatoes instead of brown sugar, honey cinnamon toast, etc
Cut out all corn syrups! Cut out vegetable oils that aren’t olive oil. Don’t use or ingest canola oil. You can use ghee as a wonderful substitute for almost all cooking and baking fats, and aldi has the same good brands of ghee for a few bucks cheaper than everywhere else
That would be step one if you really have to ask. You don’t need to go way over your head. Cutting out these things will leave you with a smaller, but still limitless variety of food options. You’ll know what’s good by cutting that shit out. If you’re a milk drinker, I would start buying healthier milks like grass fed or at least organic. Buy Uncured bacon, stay away from most deli meats. It’s okay to have these things every once in awhile unless you’re trying to REALLY HARD get into a healthy lifestyle. If it’s something you’re having a lot of trouble with, don’t feel guilty for fuckups. Just get right back into it and you’ll find cheetohs taste like fucking shit :)

Serial Scenes: #2
Protagonist fucking loved grocery shopping.
The cool blast of air as she walked through the sliding doors, the clang of the carts, the sight smell of dirt as she opened into the produce section. Even if she came with a strict list, she inevitably abandoned it in favor of the endless culinary opportunities.
This frequently got her in trouble with her mother, who followed a new rigid diet every month after inevitably failing the previous one. And it was always for a stupid reason:
“Ugh, did you know EVERYTHING has sugar in it?”
“God damnit, BUTTER smells good right now! I didn’t even know butter had a smell. You know, God gave us noses for a reason...”
“How could I have possibly known a cabbage-only diet would upset my stomach like this...”
“These beans have no taste! Or smell... Maybe I’m getting sick? I should stop. I shouldn’t starve myself if I’m sick. I’ll pick it up when I feel better...”
On the off chance her mom let Protagonist be the one to even do the grocery shopping - relinquishing control over something for even a second was a challenge for her - it almost always ended the same way: Protagonist jumped at the chance, promised to stick to the list of:
- chia seeds
- oat milk
- iceberg lettuce 
- grass-fed ghee
- tofurkey
- horseradish
- 2 liters of Diet Coke
then came home with 17 extra items, and her mother lost her mind. Nevermind that Protagonist was never required to follow her mother’s seasonal diets and therefore never did. And nevermind that Protagonist had to eat something. The betrayal! The sheer horror of eggs passing across the threshold! It always dissolved into a fight. “How dare you...”
But today, as the cool mist presently watering the cucumbers and zucchini fogged up the screen of her cell phone list, Protagonist was completely free to purchase whatever she wanted. She would get heirloom tomatoes, despite having beautiful ones already glimmering in the backyard. She would stock up on Haagen Dazs bars. She would put real milk in her tea. She would feel for the firmness of every single avocado.
Protagonist worshipped at the church of groceries. She had long ago memorized the contents of each and every aisle, and she’d bemoaned at last year’s Thanksgiving alongside her favorite check-out lady Shirley, when they’d moved the aisles around.
“And a major holiday around the corner, no less!”
Today, she would let each aisle speak to her. A giant block of feta cheese? Why not? Protagonist grabbed three bottles of freshly made salad dressing. What made them different from the shelf-stable ones on aisle 16? She didn’t care. All she felt was sick contentment as she smirked, imagining her mother gasping at the trans fat.
She turned the cart around the corner. Aisles 3 and 4: Frozen foods, pizza, ice cream. Protagonist grabbed a “rising crust” cheese and popper her gum as the she let the freezer door slam shut. A woman and her toddler looked up at the sound, the boy aggressively rolling a Hot Wheels car across the cart handle between his mom’s hands, slamming into her fingers, carelessly. Protagonist waved. The child simply stared, then went back to whooshing. “Fucker,” Protagonist mumbled as she rolled past. She thought she heard the young mom gasp.
Around the next corner. Aisles 5 and 6: Cleaning supplies, paper products, dog food. This aisle never made any sense to her. She grabbed a bottle of bleach and jumbo toilet paper. 
Around the next corner. Aisles 7 and 8: Magazines and party supplies. Then deodorant, body wash, and cheap makeup. She grabbed a stick of Dove and an eyeliner pencil. Why not? Can’t beat $3.
Around the next corner. And then the next. Cake mix, flour, baking sheets. She selected the nicest bottle of olive oil she could find. Another turn, and another. Cans of beans, packages of cookies, fresh sourdough. Her cart runneth over. 
By the time she pushed up to Shirley’s lane, Protagonist could barely swing the cart around the magazine rack. 
“Stocking up while mom’s away?”
“Exactly,” Protagonist smiled. It felt good to be seen by Shirley. The small talk began.
“How’s Georgia? Will you see each other over the break?”
“We’re having a sleepover next Tuesday.”
“Oh that’s nice!” 
Scan, beep. Scan, beep. Pause.
“I wondered if maybe you’d go to her place for Christmas- “
“Nope,” Protagonist cut Shirley off, perhaps too brightly. 
Shirley tried to shrug it off by not stopping her scanning, but her voice tightened, apologetic, “Oh sure. I’ll bet they have plenty going on, what with such a big family...”
Scan, beep. Scan, beep. Pause.
“Have you, uh... Have you heard from Janey?”
Protagonist didn’t respond, eyes far away, in the land of candy and gum. She reached across the belt and grabbed a handful of prepaid Visa gift cards, tossing them onto the receding end of her items and setting down a divider too late for it to matter. 
“$50 on each please,” she finally looked up at Shirley, who was staring at her, concerned. When she looked back down to scan the gift cards, Protagonist could see her counting them up in her head. “My, that’s a lot of money, honey.”
“For my teachers. Christmas gifts.”
“Oh, that’s so nice of you!” Shirley resumed her scanning, “Want them in the bags?”
“I’ll take ‘em,” Protagonist tossed them into her purse, then swiped the debit card and keyed in the pin while Shirley bagged each item carefully.
“Well, there ya go!” Shirley patted the side of the last bag proudly, like a mother who’d just forced her child into a large, puffy winter coat. She reached around to tear of the receipt and, as she handed it to Protagonist, found a Visa gift card being handed back to her.
“For you,” the girl said firmly. 
Shirley looked up, eyes wide, “Oh, you-”
“Merry Christmas. Thanks for everything.”
Protagonist loaded the bags back into her cart quickly and nearly jogged away before Shirley could protest the gift. She caught Shirley wipe a tear away from the corner of her eye as she greeted the next guest. Protagonist smiled to herself. 
She would miss her.

This Paleo Liver Pate is a delicious and nutritious way to enjoy liver, even if you're not a fan. It's creamy, flavorful, and packed with essential nutrients. Perfect for a party appetizer or a healthy snack!
Ingredients: 1 lb grass-fed beef liver. 1/2 cup grass-fed ghee. 1 small onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup coconut cream. 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves. 1/2 tsp sea salt. 1/4 tsp black pepper.
Instructions: Rinse the beef liver under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels. Melt two tablespoons of ghee over medium heat in a skillet. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and saut for about 5 minutes, or until they are transparent. Finely chop the beef liver and incorporate it into the skillet. Cook until the insides are no longer pink, 2 to 3 minutes on each side. Add the garlic, onions, and cooked liver to a food processor. Stir in the coconut cream, sea salt, black pepper, fresh thyme leaves, and remaining ghee. Process everything in a blender until everything is smooth and creamy, similar to pate. To make it creamier, add extra coconut cream if necessary. As desired, taste and adjust the seasonings. To allow the flavors to mingle, move the Paleo Liver Pate to an airtight container and place it in the refrigerator for at least two hours before serving. Serve with sliced vegetables or Paleo-friendly crackers.

Eat fertility foods in abundance : eggs, oysters, good fats (avocados, grass fed ghee, salmon, fish eggs) and if you can, buy organic and grass fed / pasture raised as much as possible.
Stop high intensity workouts, prioritize gentle movements such as yoga or qi gong, and for cardio I suggest aerobics (not too much, 3 times a week is enough in my opinion). Once you’ve gained a bit of weight and feel more stable/grounded, you can try strength training or weight lifting to build muscle.
