I wouldn't say I'd trust him to do it per-se but I think it'd be so funny to get top surgery from Ulysses, like he's gone to fish college for it, he's the most qualified, however also he did in fact start playing God and went on his mad scientist arc so it's like,,, Russian medical malpractice roulette, and itd be so funny, you wake up and there's a 5-10% chance you have more boob then before, where'd it come from? Shrug, kelp by-product

An oft underutilized aspect of Bruce Wayne as a character is how much he enjoys making trouble on purpose.
Like, he doesn’t have to disappear or appear like a spectre in front of his friends. He doesn’t have to take the “Bat” in Batman so far. He doesn’t have to pretend to be stupid in front of people. He does all of these things, I can only assume, because he enjoys it.
Of course in earlier comics this is true, but you can see it in later ones as well. Bruce likes to banter with people. Bruce enjoys putting on an act. Bruce sent multiple people a box with a bat in it; you cannot convince me he did not do so with a smirk.
I know people paint Batman as the Serious Hero who is Dark and Brooding and Hates Laughter. But that just isn’t the case. He is serious, he is dark and brooding, but he fucking loves laughter - he is constantly laughing at people. He’s having a ball! Some crimes are serious and not fun for him, but otherwise? He is treating the criminal underground of Gotham as his playground and having an absolutely delightful time doing so.

1.07 Arthur's Red Eyes Symbolism
Tumblr media
Good morning, class. I am here to talk about the glowing red eye effect from the episode The Gates of Avalon. Low-budget effects or hidden symbolism?
Magic in the show is associated with the color gold. Whenever someone casts magic, their eyes glow gold. Yet here, it's red. You could say that it's because Sophia is a Sidhe, so things are different in Avalon. However, she and her father got cast out of Avalon and put into mortal bodies, so they have to play by our rules.
Why show Arthur's eyes turn red when she casts her enchantment? Of course, it's to show him being under her spell. But they could have just shown her eyes change colors and have Arthur's demeanor change before following Sophia out. Clearly, it's to symbolize something.
What does red usually get associated with? Evil. What does it also get associated with in the show? Camelot. More specifically, the Pendragons. But we're supposed to root for Camelot. Arthur isn't evil. To us. To magical people, probably so. After all, he raided two Druid camps (we know the context, but the victims don't, or don't care). He also likely helped capture some sorcerers, which led to innocent and guilty dying alike.
Maybe some don't see Arthur bad as an individual. But he is a Pendragon, and the Pendragons are enemies to the Old Religion. Uther started it, and Arthur continued the persecution (less uptight about it, but ppl still had to hide their magic). Sure, Arthur seemed opened to changing his views multiple times. But he kept reverted back to Uther's views after a tragic event or because Merlin said magic has no place in Camelot.
Therefore, Arthur's eyes turn red because in the eyes of the Old Religion, he is evil. This may be considered foreshadowing how the ban on magic will remain for the rest of the show. Anyways. This has been my Ted Talk. Thank you for coming.
