Hey guys, remember to take care of yourselves today, and that your feelings and needs are valid. If you need to step away from the internet for a while, that's more than fine, and if you are hurt by the news, we all are human and not inmune to the desire that the people we like are actually good. What they did is not on anyone but them, and the only thing we can control is how we react in the aftermath and how we treat others
Be kind to others and yourselves, and take the steps needed to take care of you

Here is justice, served.
The Palace of Justice court complex in az-Zahra in Gaza was built in 2018 with Qatari funding of $11 million. Gazans dubbed it the "Palace of Injustice" right from the start, knowing that's what they would grt there from the cruel, tyrannical Hamas regime.
Today it was bombed by IDF.
Good riddance!

As a gift to myself before I continue my college essays LEMME SHOW U SLASH
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bc this is tumblr and I am allowed to rant, that is exactly what I’ll do:
- he’s a box turtle! A kind of homage to tmnt versions that had all of the turtles simply be box turtles!
- the way his shell looks is based on IDW!! I love IDW style and i find it sad not lots of ppl read it rn (that ik of??) anyways, it’s a reference to that :D
- his face is based on 2018, his little smile :)
- the zoom in to a little heart faced fellow in his shell is The Frog King, ppl who know me irl already KNOW
- he is hollow kekekeekeke
- the swirly things on his cheeks r blush! Shhhhhh let’s not worry abt him technically being cold blooded
- his name is slash bc I couldn’t decide on who it could be, if anything he could be Mikey, but I decided to go w slash bc he’s one of the characters (apart from the main 4) that r my favorite and I rlly think he’s underrated :)) (this is in regards to both 2012 and IDW slash!!!!)
- his glaze ended up so weird idk y?? My teacher said it was cause maybe it wasn’t mixed too good but it’s ok, he just has every disease, I love him so much I am SO taking him to college
My teacher was so kind and helpful w him, she’s the sweetest and she reminds me of bee (bee & puppycat fandom wya!!), I should tell her that soon
Thank u!
Extra: 2012 Mikey figurine (my very sweet friend gave me) in slash’s scooped stomach with lavender sprinkled in for good riddance

Kaiju Week in Review (February 19-25, 2023)
Tumblr media
Those of you who've been around here for a while may recall the Kickstarter campaign for a documentary called Kaiju Gaiden, which aimed to interview directors of underseen independent kaiju films. I stress the campaign because despite clearing its $25,000 funding goal, the documentary was never completed. Director David Hall apparently took the money and ran, and while producer Mark Jaramillo vowed to finish the film, his last update was in 2018. Jaramillo also stopped posting on his personal Facebook page the same year. Myself and pretty much everyone else who gave the project a backwards glance figured he had simply given up and withdrawn from fandom to avoid further embarrassment. Or perhaps something had happened in his personal life that was more pressing than chronicling the adventures of a wolfman and some funny lizards. Kaiju Gaiden entered the (alarmingly voluminous) annals of kaiju vaporware, alongside the likes of Godzilla Zero Hour and Colossal Kaiju Combat.
Well, something did happen in his personal life. Fucking hell, did it happen. As Jules L. Carrozza revealed last Saturday, Jaramillo was in prison until recently for distributing child pornography online. I've been in touch with someone who's looked into this horrid story beyond what's available through Google (i.e. PACER), and they've confirmed that this is no case of mistaken identity. They also shared excerpts from the sentencing report. I will spare you the vile details. Suffice to say the man is a monster of the kind I wish only existed in the movies. He had started posted on Facebook again in October like nothing had happened, and I'm extremely grateful Carrozza came forward before he could stage some triumphant return at G-Fest or another con.
I aim to have Wikizilla's Kaiju Gaiden page updated by early next week; I feel bad for taking so long, but I want our citations to be unquestionable and can't search PACER myself until Monday. I also regret not including all this in the last week in review, since it did fall under its scope, if only just. Truth be told, I didn't know how the hell to present it alongside more routine kaiju news, Godziban especially.
I also wanted to give good old @kaijusaurus time to complete his Edward Snowden act. Back at G-Fest XXIII in 2016, Jaramillo transferred to him a bunch of indie tokusatsu obscurities and asked him to keep them to himself. Well, suffice to say that promise is off, and he's deposited the lot on archive.org and (when possible) YouTube. Give them a watch and let their lo-fi simplicity remind you why you fell in love with this stuff.
I'm glad they can be out in the world. Kaiju Gaiden ultimately made many of them less visible than they could have been until now. If you couldn't make it to G-Fest, you were shit out of luck. For those of us who could, those memories are thoroughly tainted. Mark Jaramillo didn't make any of them, and they don't deserve to be associated with him. His most enduring contribution to the kaiju genre will be playing a CIA agent in the excruciating God Raiga vs. King Ohga: War of the Monsters... alongside David Hall. Good fucking riddance.

Record Store Victory Tour 2022.
They say that once in a while you should treat yourself. It’s not often I do. After nine months of stay-at-home recovery, I promised myself that, when I was in a better place emotionally and monetarily, I would. So I had a wild idea. I decided to do something for myself I’ve never done before: an island-wide ‘record-store victory tour’. It consisted of hitting up each and every music store I could and buy as many vinyl records, cassettes, and CDs I could.
It started when I received my third paycheck of the month, my tax refund, a monthly store bonus, and our company giving us full-timers an extra $1,000 from national tax breaks and major donations. It was 2018 and the timing was right. I was in a much better place than I was 10 years before and for the first time in a long time I was feeling great.
It was intense and exhausting, but I loved it. It felt great getting back into doing what I loved doing the most; visiting a record store and spending as much as I wanted to on anything and everything I was a fan of or read about. I chased the excitement of finding artists, albums, and sounds I always meant to take home with me and get the most bang for the buck as possible. It became one of the largest excesses of individualism I’ve ever done for myself and I was all the happy for it. In the end, I spent no more than $1,500.00 on 280+ titles across eleven stores. I had fun doing it, and I told myself that if I could, I’d do it again.
It’s now 2022, and a new record-store tour was way overdue.
I missed the days where I’d get lost in the hunt and have the outside world fall behind me if only for a few hours. I never forgot the fascination of discovering those gems I waited years for and feeling surprised in finding the unexpected. In fact, those feelings never left me. I’m the same way now as I was then. I neglected myself for so long that I had to come back. And I did.
I’d return to all the stops I made last year. Gone are the ones who receded to online selling, and good riddance to the over-priced locations who’d scam anyone for three to four times the price. They would never get my attention from me. I even added a few new locations and then some. From the east end of Long Island to (now) some of Brooklyn and Manhattan’s most appealing stores, this year’s tour would be more extensive than the last - and the most expensive.
I knew I was better off financially than I was four years ago. I had way more in the bank than expected so I knew I could spend and feel guilt-free without the consequences or buyer’s remorse. You cannot even begin to imagine how much I laid out. Chances are it’s more than you ever want to.
And with money comes things I’d ultimately learn about this -tour. I no longer buy blindly and have Discogs at my hip. I’d discover specific albums and remembered searching through certain sections that changed the course of the visit. I’d revisit my Atari / Nintendo childhood via 7” and 12”s and also my alternative days when I told myself all the artists and albums I’ve once dismissed were actually OK. I even quit and cashed it in when I wasn’t feeling a store’s selection. Conversely, I’d go all-in and spend on genres and artists I felt I missed out on, plus insisting on giving my dealers a little extra for free records to keep them in business. That is what you call appreciation.
I’d tell myself to be patient and take all the time in the world for what I loved doing: staying in touch with myself. I’d build up my identity, to score style points, and separate myself from all the other vanilla people around me who “been there, done that”. Each and every record, tape, and disc I’d buy would be a beacon for me to shine on those who want to relate. They would all be ammunition for future playlists, broadcasts, and back-and-forth discussions on who-knows-what and what they don’t know.
In the end, I felt complete. I bought everything I wanted and did it all with no regrets. It’s the ultimate in self-care and the biggest favor I’ve ever done for myself.
Would I do this again? There’s always a shooting star’s possibility. I got it out of my system and things like these take a few years before I have a renewed urge to go for it. For now, there’s lots of titles I know I’ll never find in stores that I’ll find online. Should you ever have the chance to go all out and do a victory tour, do it. Do something guilt-free and with no regrets. Build yourself up, cross boundaries, take chances, and experience something that will stay with you forever. I promise you’ll be glad you did.

In the words of Eurydice from the 2018 rougelike game, Hades, “good riddance”

But. Before I can get every single thing from the Journey of Canon sorted out to write linearly and responsibly.
One of the not-sure-good-or-bad-the-point-is-maybe-only-in-that-unseen-percentages-are-unlocked-well-probably things from having finished the jpn canon.
(Slipping another in: I really enjoyed the Prison Arc and the last volume of Seisa Arc where everything is moving so vigorously forward. Not that any other volume was un-exciting, Ma never can be [sinful triple negative], but seeing sensei running all gears at a solution she's so good at was really exceptionally Memorable. I kinda treasure how this is now see-able whenever that little bunkobon is read. Bunkobons are so incredibly tiny for that experience.)
Is discovering my previous take on how Saralegui appears in the eyes of Shinma people (or mainly Yuu, whether you look for ship or plot clues a large part really would be Yuu. or in fact character study... I still don't think I know my boi very well) when Seisa ended was surprisingly rather more pessimistic than things look?? Even before the final volume there were conversations mildly....under control. (Yuu-chan really is very good with people. He's kind to general suffering strangers and affable with his circle and doesn't panic during and after crises. Not something I can pull off even at well past 16.) And the boys parted ways more-or-less-friendly talking about truths of the arc/what has been brought up on Alazon, and about Yelshi and Seisa: about how he will see and where he'll head. Though not in a close way but you don't really do this kind of talk while standing very far apart (or was it Sara breaching where they stand by earlier talk and actions) and there's no distant "good riddance". I don't know what to think about this even now (though seeing how traumatized Yuu is in Prison Arc about a king being responsible for people that work for him, the inclination is to still think about it as what happens between roles, and maybe also something from Hazel--in MA the female characters are actually really important come to think of everything from Suverera--not really about personal views or feelings. i do even have more on this though it would be about Sara and Yelshi) but it certainly is more open-space a view than what I thought it was all about. Me being me this has gone to fuel how to look at sensei's possible plans of the book. Not in-house, but in a way dougyousha, a little further than colleagues. You also be decent to build your ideal world without excluding the overly-a-handful-scheming-dictator. But they may not even come live in it. And that's...ok? and that's the final shape of the world your share, or maybe not final because things have been changing and there seems to be major plot ahead. But you have shared a journey and some fogs and been cleared away and you are on I-know-you-to-the-bottom-of-that-abyss-of-yours-and-you-probably-know-me speaking terms.
My pet theory of 2018 (last sane day of my life, nearly) was that in the first four books there is a certain amount of Saralegui in the background being shiny with sins and bloods. Even before that there was the "passing through Small Cimarron in Carolia Arc has some info on him too", admittedly from being hungry for any info at all. And I thought Seisa was his Arc as in him in action, or in plain narrative, or unthinking innocent things like that. But no. It was just for getting to know him. And probably things that are known would not even stay in one place for the purpose of what story might be waiting to happen. (From the Earthly Soukokus it really seems to be about living your own life in between other's wills....the thing Murata mentions with Kenja's soul records in Until He Becomes Maou, and the thing Harry Potter is supposed to be about too.....MA is definitely very compatible with the experience of living as a female person in Asia and fits very comfortably with me...well, you're reminded it was marketed as Shoujo Shousetsu, and know for a fact it does a very good job on every front)
Sensei says we're at 60-70 percent into the story. Seeing how meticulously MA is written, I shudder and also hope to think.

These are all totally genuine questions, I'm not trying to be rude or snarky at all, just trying to clarify and learn! This subject has always kind of confused me... But just curious about your tag about the last time net neutrality came around - wasn't it kind of always around unofficially/there were no rules really before being solidified in 2015 and then they repealed it a couple years later? Do you mean you lost 3k followers in 2015 or when it was repealed? And how does net neutrality make you lose followers - isn't it basically just about all sites being treated without discrimination by internet providers? Again, genuinely asking!
Hi anon - you haven't followed me long enough have you? hahaha :) I don't want to talk too much about it (especially since, well, I lost a lot of followers, the most I ever had in my life), but I will answer, since I think it's an important topic and that well, it brings up an important discussion about what content is "allowed" by the masses especially when you're a blog that isn't fandom or random.
TL;DR is that when Net Neutrality was threatened (idk, 2017? 2018? can't remember, it's late at night here so I can't be bothered to google when exactly, but you get the gist), I posted a lot about it, trying to bring awareness and showing that YES this is an important topic and people should be aware - I don't want to pay a premium internet service to get on Facebook, or have my connection drop because I want to go to tumblr and tumblr didn't make an agreement with my internet company to provide faster service. This was especially important for me, since I was long distance with my boyfriend at the time-now husband, and the only way to connect with him (for free, as you know long distance calls - phone calls - are insanely $$$$ and I was a poor grad student) was over the internet - we used Skype and Facebook and I couldn't imagine being in a position to have to pay extra to access the websites I used to connect with him. I did post a lot about it. Unfortunately, and obviously, that didn't go over well, because I'm a Fitblr™ who is only allowed to post Fitblr™ Things™. I'm not a person, only a curator of Aesthetic™. So, yeah, LOTS of people left and unfollowed me around that time. 3k worth. In fairness, I did post quite a bit (well, I was anxious about it! I'm sorry!), but it wasn't more than a few posts a day for a couple weeks? Idk. Didn't seem like a lot at the time, but perhaps it was. Since I wasn't a random blog, I had a Blog Theme™, and in hindsight that's definitely why people unfollowed - they didn't want to see or hear anything that wasn't my theme- fitblr. They wanted fitness and health and food content, they didn't want to see some political(?) BS. I don't blame them at all, yet on the other hand I guess people have to realize the people running these different themed blogs are... people? And at the time, it was absolutely an outlet for my anxiety and stress. I was being overworked and burned out in grad school, and the thought of losing access to my person - was unbearable. And the way to feel more in control? Post about it. I couldn't donate money, and I didn't want to protest or sign petitions (shit, I didn't have time tbh), but at the bare minimum I could post about it on my blog to gain awareness.
I was being snarky the other day when it was trending again, so obviously I needed to reblog the Destiel meme and add my snark tags because, that's how we tumblrians do it. Because, well, good riddance, people suddenly agree five years later it's an issue and are suddenly actually in support of net neutrality!!! I was mad so the snark came out, and honestly I shouldn't have posted that. But I was snarky. Good riddance. I was right all along. And, I'll even say that in the body, not the tags.

Eternal melodies : honouring the resilience and artistic brilliance of 3 timeless artists
Tumblr media
Introduction:
In the ever-evolving tapestry of the music industry, stars often rise and fade away, leaving behind echoes of their extraordinary talents. Among these luminaries are Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, and XXXTentacion—musical prodigies whose brilliance was tragically overshadowed by the darker facets of fame, mental health struggles, and substance abuse. As we unravel the narratives of these artists, a collective story emerges, prompting us to ponder the profound impact of these interconnected themes on their lives and artistic expressions.
Juice WRLD:
Tumblr media
Jarad Anthony Higgins, widely known as Juice WRLD, soared to fame with a distinctive blend of emo rap and melodic tunes. His poignant lyrics resonated with a generation navigating the complexities of mental health. Regrettably, on December 8, 2019, Juice WRLD faced a seizure at Chicago's Midway International Airport, succumbing to an accidental overdose of oxycodone and codeine. Albums like "Goodbye & Good Riddance" and "Death Race for Love" showcase not only his introspective and emotional themes but also the artistic prowess that captivated audiences. The former features hits like "Lucid Dreams," while the latter explores a darker sonic landscape with tracks like "Robbery."
Lil Peep:
Tumblr media
Gustav Elijah Åhr, or Lil Peep, pioneered the "emo rap" subgenre, seamlessly merging elements of emo, trap, and rock. Discovered lifeless on his tour bus on November 15, 2017, Lil Peep fell victim to an accidental overdose of fentanyl and alprazolam. His discography, including "Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 1" and "Come Over When You're Sober, Pt. 2," bears witness to his eclectic mix of genres and profound emotional depth, illustrated vividly through his cover art. The first part includes standout tracks like "Awful Things," while the second part further explores Lil Peep's artistic evolution with singles like "Gym Class."
XXXTentacion:
Tumblr media
XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, made waves with his genre-defying approach that blended rap, rock, and R&B. Tragically shot and killed on June 18, 2018, during a robbery in Florida, XXXTentacion's legacy lives on through albums like "17" and "?" which showcase his versatility. "Sad!" and "Moonlight" are emblematic of his ability to connect with listeners on an emotional level. Beyond his music, XXXTentacion was known for his philanthropic efforts and attempts at personal growth. Despite a troubled past, he endeavored to make positive changes, leaving a complex legacy that sparks ongoing discussions about redemption and personal transformation.
Common Threads:
While Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, and XXXTentacion each possessed a unique sonic identity, their stories intricately intertwine through common threads. The relentless pressure to sustain success, the struggle with mental health, and the normalization of substance use within the music industry played pivotal roles in their untimely departures. The collective tragedy of these young talents serves as a poignant reminder of the imperative to address mental health and substance abuse within the entertainment world.
Tumblr media
Legacy:
Beyond the heart-wrenching conclusions to their stories, the legacies of Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, and XXXTentacion endure through their timeless music. Fans continue to celebrate not just their artistry but also the profound impact they had on shaping the music industry. The lessons gleaned from their struggles underscore the urgent need for open conversations surrounding mental health, addiction, and the immense pressures faced by artists in the spotlight.
Conclusion:
The narratives of Juice WRLD, Lil Peep, and XXXTentacion transcend cautionary tales, inviting us to celebrate their resilience and artistic brilliance. As fans, we remember these luminaries for the indelible mark they left on the musical landscape, acknowledging the challenges they confronted. Their untimely departures should inspire a collective commitment to fostering a healthier and more compassionate creative environment within the music industry.

Very mixed feelings atm. My old job is closing down and it's like. (I found out right after therapy and I don't go back for two weeks so I just like need to vent)
On one hand good fucking riddance. Like I saw the writing on the wall way back in 2021 and they kept installing horrible management team after horrible management team. I am glad to know that it is on the current shitty store manager and asset protection guy that they let the store get shut down on THEIR WATCH because they were two of the worst upper managers I have ever seen. They both denied an employee medical treatment and mocked what we all thought was an extreme period but was actually a cysts rupture. They targeted employees and fired people who did nothing wrong.
No one will be hurt there anymore. No one I love will be hurt by THEM.
But I... I loved that place. I killed my mental health trying to save that place as the most senior cashier. It was my burden to bare. Customers loved me. I made friends, the teenagers stressed me out to no end. It was my home away from home during the pandemic. My saving grace. The walls of that place, the soul of that place, knew my darkest moments. Saw me cry when I felt abandoned. Overwhelmed. Taken advantage of. In 2018, it saw me after classes on Mondays as I fell for one of my professors and it was there I was when, years later, he sent that email that broke my heart. The walls of that place has seen everything.
I found my soulmate there. Or something close to it.
And it's been one of my go to grocery stores since it opened. It's sad to lose it.
But good riddance. They ruined that store in the 2021 remodel. They ruined its fucking dna and everything was ruined.

trigger warning for mention of r*pe and sexual assault (feel free to not answer and delete if this topic is too much!)
Cannot believe you've got anons defending some of the stuff in fics and whitewashing it as just "experiencing attraction to a character." I cannot stand the pervy!141 fics. Especially because they tag it as non-con/dub-con (and sometimes they don't even include that warning, smh). Years ago, people in a ton of fandoms, especially on tumblr, all agreed that non-con/dub-con is literal rape. There's not such thing as "dubious consent"—that is 100% r*pe. Like, are we really fantasizing about r*pe??
Obviously, including dub-con/r*pe is so out of character for the 141 and COD in general. Maybe darker fandoms are more tolerant of that stuff because of the nature of their original material but I don't see COD being one of those. Especially because women in the military and civilian women in war zones are subject to so much sexual violence. And, female COD fans often experience threats of sexual violence and intense misogyny when we play online either in multiplayer or Warzone. That's literally why I have to always have voice chat disabled when I play.
Your dumbass anon™ was saying that tumblr is public so they should get to post what they want. That's totally true but guess what?? If they make their fics public, then they need to be open to both positive and negative feedback. That's part of being a writer—from someone who actually writes for a living. There's a level of vulnerability to putting your ideas and craft out there. If you can't handle the heat, get out of the kitchen. In other words, if you can't handle people critiquing your fics, then keep your stories saved on a hard drive and don't share it. End of story.
TRIGGER WARNING!!
I remember back in 2018 I just got introduced to OW fandom, let me tell you, the amount of dub-con it had was wild. I, being young and stupid, didn't understand that it's literally r*pe because it didn't mention that and it's just said dub-con, I thought it would be "oh they might be role-playing or she'll be totally okay with it later on" or " is this how they start becoming lovers cause it doesnt make sense?" and I would always comment something along the line of "she said no at first, why is she taking it without fighting? can she not get help from her friend? why is 'my favorite character' acting like this?" and the authors would be frustrated to answer my questions every time. it only took me a year to understand that people were fucking degenerates and this is not a genre that should be taken lightly because like you said, it's literally r*pe. and at the time, that genre was RAMPANT, how it is right now in cod tumblr.
and when I see all that being repeated in cod fandom, I can't stand it! it pisses me the fuck off. they think, because cod is all "war and no love" and how "hard ass" these characters are, how manly and rugged they are, they'll act this way towards anyone let alone their loved ones. if ANYTHING some of the pure, loving and soft characters I've come to known from different types of media (videogames, tv series, movies, etc) , came from military or law enforcements. not everything has to be overtly sexualized or made into some fucked up fantasy.
and yeah I'm in the same boat as you are when it comes to voice coms. I am terrified of what I might hear in it regardless of if its towards a woman or not, so rarely open it when I play alone.
all in all, that anon should not be interacting with me anymore, good fucking riddance. and this should be a lesson to everyone who thinks like that too. never fuck with or come near people who has unconditional love towards "fictional" characters and want to protect them no matter what the cost. we wont hesitate to kink shame you, at least I wont.
