Tony has invited you and your fiancé Ari to his annual Halloween party with a costume competition. You may not have won first prize, but coming in second dressed as Morticia and Gomez Addams still felt pretty damn good.

''One of you chooses either a truth or a dare, but if you decide not to want to answer, you must take two shots. If you do answer the truth or perform the dare, the rest of us must take one shot,'' he says, and you can already feel your hangover coming on, but that would be a problem for future you.

Tony immediately turns to you and Ari, seeing you're the newest couple in the room. Tonight is the first time they've met Ari, after all.

''Let's start with you two lovebirds!'' Tony exclaims, and you can already feel your stomach drop, closing your eyes in the hope that Tony changes his mind, but he doesn't.

''Are you okay, Bubbles?'' Ari asks as he looks at you, worry visible on his face as he goes to sit up a little more, allowing you to get a little more comfortable.

''Yeah, don't worry. It's not my first rodeo,'' you say, and you give Ari a soft but passionate kiss on his lips, which is met by a lot of cheering from other Avengers.

''Right, back to me now,'' Tony says, grabbing everyone's attention.

''Dare,'' you sigh and smile, hopefully making it look like you're enjoying yourself to the rest of them.

''I dare you two-'' he says, pointing towards you and Ari, ''-to 7 minutes in heaven in the closet,'' Tony tells you.

''What are we? Fucking teenagers? You have to be kidding me, Tony,'' you raise your voice, but Ari stops you as you get up and walk away.

It's John Astin as Gomez Addams from The Addams Family tv series that ran from 1964-1966. I had a bunch of pics of him recently saved to my phone when I was first making this blog so I decided to use them.

Every time I feel a moment of peace is tart thinking about how he probably had to help his younger siblings navigate their relationship with Bruce while still having so much buried rage at him and feeling so abandoned. He was replaced the second a younger robin showed up, effectively helped raise that Robin, and then that Robin was KILLED, the cycle repeated, and all he could do was watch as another Robin got picked out and it all started over. He's seen it all, every single loop and every single part, lnows the script by now, knows that no Eobin gets a happy ending, and yet he lets these child soldiers march forwards, lets them fall into the role of Robin, not knowing that one daybthey won't recognize themsleves without the domino mask, won't recognize their hands when theyre not covered in blood.

And he's still there, after all of it, still begging for another chance to prove himself, to show that he's still enough.

While I am a firm denier of cannon and beliver in happy and functional batfam, as individual characters I am such a sucker for angsty relationships between them, you know?

Like the amount of guilt he must deal with because he just let Jason actually believe that Bruce cared, and how he must have felt when he found out Jason had died even though he could have warned him all along.

And he does all these patrols, branded as one of the bats, despising Bruce for what he let happen to him, knowing that if Bruce dies he will have to become the very thing that he hates most because what is Gotham without Batman? What is he without Batman?

It's always there, the fact that he can't escape. The Bat has had its claws in him since day one, and he is inseparable from it. He cannot be Dick Greyson without being Nightwing, cannot be Nightwing without being Robin. He let Jason die, and still, he is a bat. He ket another Robin be made, and still, he is a bat. Did he really think he could be anything but a terrified killing machine? Did he ever actually expect anything else?

I am SUCH a sucker for a sad backstory and while his is kind of wild, I am always thinking about the way that the Joker has clown and circus themes and how that probably brings it ALL rushing back.

Also he's obsessed with Starfire. He is literally her Gomez Addams and I appreciate that.
