Kokichi having a very fucked sense of trust my beloved

i don't think i talk about his trust issues enough and honestly that's a crime on my part. this man can fit so much trust issues in him.

i personally think my favorite way of showing his trust issues is him forcing people to work hard for his trust, if you want it you have to go through the worst of his nasty facades to prove yourself worthy of nuggets of who he really is. as results only people who were already close to him before he developed this defense mechanism and really damn stubborn people can actually get through to him, and even then depending on how fresh the trust is it can be pretty easy to break with small things.

he's kinda like a spicy kitten in that right- he spats and hisses but will eventually trust, but if you slightly break his trust or overwhelm him too early on he relapses and you end up several steps back in the process. i imagine Shuichi had to deal with alot of trial and error getting to know him because of this, but Shuichi wants to know him so he sits there with his metaphorical kitty gogurt trying to spspspspsp Kokichi out of the corner of his mental cage

because his trust is so precarious and difficult to achieve and maintain, he tends to perceive other's trust as working the same way by default. unless it's someone who wears their heart on their sleeve, Kokichi assumes everyone else is hard to earn the trust of and once recived is a balancing act to maintain, which means when he breaks someone's trust he kinda just- falls into this mindset of "i destroyed everything and our relationship may never recover", then ends up blind-sighted and confused when they forgive him so soon after, maybe even calling them weak or too trusting cause in his mind it's like "why the fuck would you forgive that easily?? i didn't even make an attempt to make up for it and you forgive me???"

it's also worth mentioning that i like to imagine that Kokichi is serious about his privacy and stuff and has a very particular ideal of what he considers private, this ideal usually being anything from what people usually consider private info (ie; where he lives, his trauma, his family life, medical shit) to stuff that are uniquely Kokichi (ie: hobbies, food preferences, what he and his friends like to do together, even how to interact positively with him).

because he's so serious about his privacy, regardless of how insignificant you deem it, he will feel like his trust was violated if you tell anyone without running it by him first. he claims it's for the mystery, but really he's just paranoid and trying to keep up a facade he can control- micromanaging who knows what harmless fact about him to feel comfort, telling someone something as simple as his favorite animal without his permission throws him into a tizzy

doing this loosely and with director's commentary bc i can never resist

january: my top set is this winteam hugs one. man i struggled so much with maintaining quality while trying to do that yellow to blue gradient coloring down the set. i definitely remembered it as looking worse than it does though, so i was pleasantly surprised to see that no it looks pretty good actually. probably also my favorite from that month since the others are very basic but honorable mention to my chinzhilla set cause i gotta shout out my beloved namesakes

february: top is jimbo the gogurt cat 😻 february was a slow month for me gif-wise so there aren't that many to choose favorites from, but it's probably my eclipse rewatch ep4 for the coloring

march: well uhh march was even slower than february i have two whole posts from that month and they're both eclipse rewatch sets (this was when my old laptop died and i spent like 3-4 weeks without photoshop). top and fav for this month is the eclipse rewatch ep5

april: top is akkayan in the first our skyy 2 trailer and fav is .... akkayan in the second our skyy 2 trailer (the quality of these is so much better how did i manage to make those first gifs look so bad 😅). honorable mention to my coloring in the eclipse rewatch ep8

may: ahh the our skyy 2 days...take me back..... top is every akkayan kiss as it should be. which i think is also my top post on this blog. as it should be. fav is vegas x it's about time (tw for glitch effect/flashing). there's some stuff there that i would go back and change cause i don't think it comes across great in retrospect, but i'm still really pleased with all the technical details

june: top was minoru's heart eyes part 3 (a gif series i WILL come back to shortly - i think the bleak midwinter is the perfect time for an odt rewatch). fav is akk x identity, but god would i go back and redo the typography and layout of the lines/text boxes (iirc i was like. minutes away from missing the deadline on this event so). still very pleased with the blending and what the set actually conveys though

july: oh look another gif series i've put on hold.... top is word of honor rewatch ep1, fav is tied between kp pretty boys (a set which is very pretty itself, if i do say so myself, and was very fun to make) and lomfontien kiss details (truly one of my all time favs on this blog even though it's so simple also everyone please go watch la pluie right now thank you)

august: bombastic side eye: the series takes the cake this month, which was SUCH a fun set to make (as was its spiritual companion, objectifying him to filth, which trailed by only about 30 notes). fav was charn vs wkx quotes. i honestly think i nailed it both conceptually and aesthetically

september: top is the first kanaphan drinking straw cinematic universe which continues to delight me whenever it shows back up in my notifs. fav is tied between cursed sandray parallels (tw glitch) (because it was one of those where as i was making it and inflicting emotional damage on myself, i knew it was going to be delightful inflicting that damage on others, and it was) and sandray x it will come back (mostly for the neon text and its reflection in the first two i just think it looks really good)

october: top was sandray love scene details (tw flashing) which was basically a rip off of my lomfontien kiss one from july but this one was much more successful lol. favorite is only friends x shameful company (tw flashing) (which now i can't look at without thinking of the sign skdjfds). really happy with the cards gif in particular

november: the guynawa kiss won november and they deserved it. my favorite was jim x loss which took me foreverrrr and i redid the last two gifs like three times but it was worth it. also shoutout to my dan x shadow post for all the 'wait there's actual monsterfucking in this show' reactions it elicited

december: top is phayatharn ep1/ep2 parallels and i have to take back what i said about every akkayan kiss being my top post - this one beats it by three notes! which surprised me but i'm glad we're all in this madness together with these two. fav has got to be morkday x come closer (tw flashing) if only for how much i beat my head against a wall over it during the creation process skdjfskj. although i also really love this set of tharn's sexy dream (nsfw) specifically because i added an offset pink layer and i'm OBSESSED with the way it looks with phaya's tattoo

if you read all that.. thank you and also i'm in love with you. anyways it was super fun to look back on everything i made this year! and interesting to realize i'm not nearly as prolific as i thought, especially in the first half of the year. here's to many more gifsets in 2024!!

1) The Onion Man Pants

My high school best friend bought these pants off of Kai’s poshmark between 2016-18 and regifted them to me, unfortunately I no longer have the shipping envelope so I keep them in a ziplock bag prison. They have definitely been dry cleaned as evident by the texture(can onion man do laundry?) This is one of my prized possessions I hope it pleases Father Strange.

2) Furby

My beloved son, Gogurt Yogo Yogenfrüz looking rather dapper in his build-a-bear shades and his funky chainz decorated with a computer heat sink my partner gave me because It makes pleasing sounds for my goblin brain.

Last Night

I cried myself to sleep. You made me feel disgusting for eating at 10:30pm as I attempted to study some more EKG cardiac arrhythmias. I've been studying them for days, and I still can't understand them completely --- most of the time, I just see squiggly lines but don't know if it's atrial flutter or afib, much less what's causing it, how to treat it, or the pathophysiology behind it. It makes me feel incompetent and like I'll never be a good nurse. So I'm sorry that I stress out and crave a double chocolate fudge brownie (or two) and a gogurt. And when I react hurt, you go on to say how ridiculous I am and how sensitive I am. How later I still wonder why you rather not spend time with me, or even talk to me, and why it's best to just ignore me most of the time. Based on what I see, this must be how everyone must feel about me because I am always so alone. I'm always so lonely. I don't seem to have friends, I hardly ever go out, and people don't text me. Highlight of my day is when my little sibling shoots me a text. I spend my days locked in the house studying (attempting to) or eating, occasionally go to the store for more food, and sleeping. Yesterday I lay down for a bit before dinner after giving up on taking notes over opioids. When I got up my chest hurt and I thought I was having angina. Who knows, maybe I've been studying cardiac conditions too much. But the pain resumed and got a bit worse, yet I still are a giant plate of rice, beans, a giant chicken quesadilla, and 2 green Chile chicken and cheese enchiladas. Then a beloved protein cereal bar for dessert and some cinnamon cookies. Well, went back to studying, pain got worse as I breathed. I felt my heart beating oddly. I took a nap. When I woke up pain was gone and went back to looking at atrial flutter. Then got the sugar craving. After the whole incident, and feeling hurt, I left to cry. The pain came back worse and I just went to bed. But it's not 3:30am and I didn't die, so guess I should go continue to feel stupid and incompetent as I attempt once more to study EKGs. Maybe today I'll understand. Mostly...I just don't want to feel so alone anymore...yet I seem to be undesirable company. But today is the first day of fall (lol, it's still like over 95 degrees outside every day) and I will hope for good things and might celebrate with some kind of pumpkin spice delight. And maybe things will get better.
