I write so incredibly out of order.... and even when I do write in order, I leave blanks to later fill in.... or I add whole sections of content (sometimes even whole scenes lmao). So there's no way for me to figure out my last sentence (esp because it was probably from what I just posted). So instead, I am using this as an excuse to post a lengthy self-indulgent & completely unsolicited excerpt from Chapter 12 of Five Peggats Each :)

He snatches the shock collar's activator from Obi-Wan's unprepared hand and whips his attention back to the slaver. The creature shouts something—wait! maybe—and Anakin is beyond caring, he's beyond anything but the ravenous, terrific desire to bleed. He's about to shout at the top of his lungs, pound the activator with his thumb as if inflicting the shock collar on this creature will somehow win him back what he's lost—but the Force erupts in a plume of ash, and— Anakin can't speak. He can't breathe. Thick tendrils of smoke clog his throat. The room dances in sparks of white and black. He's dizzy. His lips feel numb. Subconsciously his hand shoots upward and claws at his robes, at his skin, trying to find what it is constricting the flow of air to his lungs.

Ep 14 ruined me, just so y'all know. I'm honestly scared for what the next episode will do to me. Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

I did not expect Q to be the one to stand up for Phum, but I wasn't really surprised after the last ep. Previously, he'd be the first one to go up in arms, but he's starting to understand maybe everything isn't that straightforward, and despite his friends meddling in his own relationship, he wants to leave Peem alone.

Conclusion: he's a very good friend.

Oh my gods my heart broke for Tan 🥺 Here he was, probably never having dated after he fell for Fang, so knowing that Fang had dated even after whatever they went through must be so painful to him.

Heeeyy, I'm back with a new Helluva Boss opinion post thingy

Okay so, the Mammon episode- it was alright I guess? Tbh it didn't strike me as super awesome or anything, it's just kinda there?

Anyway, let's talk about it a little bit!

So I wanted to start off with Mammon himself, I'm gonna be honest I don't hate him but I don't like him either. I'll admit I do actually like his voice, I'm sure y'all might find it annoying but I dunno, I like his accent and the way he talks is kinda funny. His design tho? Eh, it could use some work.

For instance, his eyes are weird, like every time he was on screen my first thought was always: "Wow, he looks like Robin from TTG". I also hate how he's shaped like your typical "fat" character from cartoons. But for some reason they decided to give him skinny arms but a round body. He's weirdly disproportionate, which is disappointing because they definitely could make a better plus sized character design. But oh well, knowing Viv, she wouldn't even try.

I will admit his true demon form is kinda cool, except that I actually thought he was going to be a caterpillar or something but he's a spider? I swear, Viv has some weird design choices.

Moving on, the episode was cluttered as hell. It had way too much stuff in it, which made the episode feel eternal. Not only that but the episode has 4 songs.. FOUR FUCKING SONGS- When will Viv realize that not every HB episode needs a song? Like is this shit an animated series or a fucking musical? Make up your mind Viv-

Anyway, I'm glad this episode focuses on Fizz, but his character did feel a bit off in certain scenes, but aside from that everything else was fine. (I found that scene of Fizz talking to the deaf imp child while using sign language to be very endearing).

Alright, I'mma point out a few other things real quick:

Ozzie's relationship with Fizz is absolutely adorable and I love them so much. However I don't understand why they portray their relationship as a bad thing? Like, fucking Queen Bee is dating Vortex (who's a hellhound, and they are a lower class than imps) and nobody says anything and she's a sin- so why can't Ozzie do the same??

I also happen to noticed that Fizz and Mammon's relationship is similar to Angel Dust and Valentino's- I just hope they don't completely butcher my boy Fizz, because he's the ONLY character I genuinely like from this god awful series.

Edit: I find it outrageous that Fizz apologized to Blitzo in the previous episode for the accident and claims that yes, he was affected by it but he's gotten over it. Yet here, he's super insecure about it and seeks approval from Mammon. It doesn't make sense- I swear it's like the characters are evolving backwards (as in the character development just resets and they act like nothing happened).

I also just wanted to say that this character made me feel super uncomfortable throughout the episode (which I guess is the point, but honestly they didn't need to add him.) Like, was it really necessary to include this Reddit mod, Discord user incel with an obsessive personality to the episode? He doesn't really contribute much other than to probably trigger people who have dealt with some form of harassment like this, and to make Fizz look super helpless so that Blitzo can defend him.

Blitzo didn't contribute anything to the episode, they didn't need to add him either. Like we get it he's the main character but that doesn't mean he has to be in every fucking episode doing absolutely nothing other than saying a bunch of curse words or shooting someone.

In conclusion, I didn't like this episode that much. I was expecting more to be completely honest.

Absolutely!! This was so difficult because tbh I just want to put them all at number one lmao- But here u go! Also went ahead and put quick explanations for why each song is where it is

1. The Torture Tango (are we surprised? perfect act 1 finale, perfect trio, reprises so many songs, vocals killing it, listening after you know the plot twist makes you wanna cry. musical theatre peaked w this song don't @ me.)

2. Doing This (not only is it hilarious, espec as a gay person, but genuinely really sweet and everytime I hear "you're cool with me? "til the end" "cool" I fucking tear up. god I love curt and tatiana's friendship. ALSO MRS. MEGA MAKES ME LOSE IT EVERYTIME GOD BLESS. and the soft piano fits perfectly.)

3. Eyes On The Prize II (THIS SONG IS ALWAYS SO LOW ON EVERY SAF RANKING I SEE. Y'ALL WTF. I quite literally cannot listen to this song without getting chills it is so perfect. plenty of comedy from the casino workers at the beginning but really sets the tension of the next scene perfectly. also I say this with 100% sincerity- the bit where curt sees owen and you hear the Spies Are Forever motif with that gorgeous instrumental and the chorus vocals- only to end with a whispered "keep your eyes on the prize"- genuinely one of the best moments in all of musical theatre. I said what I said. I could write an essay on this one moment and yknow what? I might. just... chills man.)

4. Spies Are Forever (this song gets me AMPED. I could literally be doing dishes to this song and still lose my absolute shit and feel like a badass. a perfect introduction to the show, and exactly what you imagine when you hear "spy musical". mkw's vocals are OFF THE FUCKING CHARTS WTF and hearing the ensemble join in? ahhhhh!! the bits of dialogue are also great, and I love hearing that little bit of singing from curt and owen at the end and the contrast between them. awesome opening and literally makes me happy-stim half the time I hear it.)

5. One More Shot (My Shot whomst? sorry hamilstans I only know this absolute bop /j. SUCH a good group number (which I'm always a sucker for) and gets you hyped to see how this finale is going to go. fucking hilarious, and gives all four characters several moments to shine individually. THAT part (we all know what I mean) of everyone's rounds overlapping is chef's kiss. also love how we get to see curt's character growth here and how much more confident he feels- hell yea!! basically, it's a banger.)

6. Spy Again (holy crap!! this song makes me lose my shit everytime I listen to it. the perfect introduction to the curt we're going to be seeing throughout the show and the perfect summary of curt in general- it's tragic, it's insecure, but it's also really fucking hopeful. the fact that curt still wants to get back in the field after what happened- "too optimistic for this line of work" is right!! I know we joke abt the "spy is a spy is a spy is a spy" but damn this song has genuinely good lyrics and I love the music itself. curt mega's vocals are amazing ofc (the "get my life RIGHT again"- enough said). also unrelated but I love the piano version from the trailer sm???)

7. Spy Dance (IT'S A MUSICAL. IT'S ABOUT SPIES. so fucking good I'm so happy they kept this song in the musical itself. hearing this almost immediately after One Step Ahead on the soundtrack gives me emotional whiplash in the best way.)

8. Somebody's Gotta Do It (so in musical theatre, you have "I Want" songs and "I Am" songs. this straight up might be my favorite I Am song in musical theatre. it's SO good. sergio is hilarious and the DMA strikes the perfect balance between hilarious and terrifying. it's unreasonably catchy and gets stuck in my head constantly. [if you're curious, teachers tend to get very concerned when you mutter "this is my calling, and though it's appalling, I love making people bleeeeed" under your breath. fun fact!] so so good.)

9. The Coldest Goodbye (AHHHHHHH. mkw's vocals are incredible!! these lyrics are incredible!! the composition is incredible!! the layers and foreshadowing are incredible!! the tears rolling down my face are incredible!!)

10. Pay Attention! (pains me it isn't placed higher but at least it made top ten- I love this song!! it's such a good intro to barb, it's fucking hilarious and also a little bit sad, just like barb lmao. love the idea behind the song and the lyric "while you're saving the world, who do you think will be saving you" is a stroke of genius- as is "who do you think will be shaving you". also love the synth bridge it's so good??? god I love this song.)

11. One Step Ahead (watch how hard I can cry! this song is SO epic, there's no other word for it. beginning with a Spies Are Forever reprise as we see how much has changed between curt and owen since that song- p a i n. every line in this song hurts like I'm being stabbed 58 times with a blunt knife..... but like in a good way? curt mega and joey richter both sound great here, you can hear the emotion perfectly. ALSO the sound of music ending makes me lose my shit god bless.)

14. Mrs. Mega's Lament (funny and adorable. needs to be on the soundtrack smh. but yea mrs. mega is a treasure and this song makes for a perfect ending to my favorite scene in SAF. This Is A Safe Space supremacy.)

15. Prisoner Of My Past (sounds exactly like I would imagine a tatiana backstory sounding. love the almost 'haunted nursery rhyme' vibe. sad it's not longer but I honestly think the length fits it well!)

16. Barb's Lament (short, sweet, and does exactly what it needs to do! tessa netting's ability to crack me up and make me emotional at the same time is unparalleled)

Summary: Y/N and Kuroo share their first night together in what is now both of their home. In the morning, Y/N faces some anxiety about meeting Kuroo's volleyball team, whom he considers his friends.

Coming home to Kuroo was a new experience. When I get home, I'm covered in dirt and sweat, and I usually jump right into the shower before putting on sweatpants and making dinner. Today, however, was different for obvious reasons. "I'm home!" I announce to the house as I enter. Dropping all of my stuff on the floor, I turn and see Kuroo looking at me from the counter, his laptop open and papers strewn about beside him. "Hi, Kuroo. How was your day?"

"Just fine. I got all of my stuff in, the important things at least. How about you?"

"That client of mine is really nice, but they have lots of property. It always takes me forever to get to everything."

"Aww, I'm sorry. I got takeout if you would like it. It's in the fridge."

"Thanks babe, I appreciate it."

Kuroo gives me a quick hug before releasing me to go eat.

**POV SWITCH**

After Y/N was done eating, he moved to the couch, and I went and curled him up next to me. "Tell me about your day." I ask him before realising that he was moving to get up.

"Sorry, babe, I really need to shower. It's almost seven, and you have work tomorrow, right?" He says, getting up and stretching his arms over his head, exposing his lower stomach for a quick second.

"Yeah, I do. But I want to make sure you're comfortable. It'll be a long day with the team tomorrow."

"Well, how about you take a shower with me? No funny business, though. I'm too tired."

"Okay, I'll be up in five. Just gonna save my document and get my paperwork put away."

He walks away up the stairs, and I hear the tap turn on. I feel my face begin to flush scarlet. He wants to shower with me? Since when is he that suave? Usually, he's a dork, but...

Realising that I've taken too long, I close my laptop and head upstairs. Opening the door to the bathroom, I see his clothes on the floor and his silhouette behind the shower curtain. I slowly strip and pull away the curtain, and he turns to look at me. Stepping into the shower, he wordlessly motions for me to turn around and get my head wet. He then reaches for the bottle of shampoo, squirts some on his hands, and begins to massage it into my hair.

**POV SWITCH**

After the shower, curled up on our bed, I finally feel calm. Wow. Our bed. That feels really weird to say. "Kuroo, babe," I whisper out to the dim room.

"Yeah?"

"I-," I take a deep breath. "I love you..." Realising the gravity of what I had just said, I snap my hands up to cover my mouth. Kuroo, having seen the whole scene, wordlessly reaches down and takes ahold of my wrist. Tugging on it gently, he eventually forces it to part company with my lips, instantly replacing it with his. Grabbing my waist and pulling me closer to his side, I melt deeper into his kiss. After what felt like a blissful eternity, Kuroo pulls away and whispers, "I love you too, cutie. Now get some rest. I want you to come meet some people tomorrow."

The following day comes a lot sooner than expected. My eyes flutter open to Kuroo's shining smile. "What time is it?" I ask him.

"Six o'clock. Now, get up, I have coffee."

"Yay!" I mumble, somehow managing to sound both annoyed and excited.

"So, Y/N, today I thought that I'd introduce you to the team." I sputter into my coffee, but Kuroo keeps talking. "Me and the guys that I coach, we aren't that different in age, so we get along quite well. It'll be more like meeting a bunch of my friends than some random group of college kids."

Hearing that, I sigh in relief but then begin to hyper-focus on something. Friends. They're Kuroo's friends. Oh no. Insecurities and past experiences begin to overwhelm me as Kuroo pulls me up and nudges me in the direction of the bathroom, promises of breakfast vaguely heard over the roar of thoughts in my head. I can't help but feel as though I'm stuck in a current and just along for the ride.

**POV SWITCH**

Packing lunch into small containers for our busy day is what I'm doing when Y/N stumbles into the kitchen. His hair, while dried, is a rat's nest, and he only has on one sock. Knowing where this is going, I pause and walk over to him. He freezes but lets me hug him. As I bury my head in his hair and smell his shampoo, I ask, "What's all this about?"

"Wh-what are you talking about, babe? I'm excellent." Y/N says unconvincingly.

"Come on, Y/N. You only ever get this frantic when you're anxious about something. You know you can talk to me, right? Is it about meeting the team?" I see him freeze, and I know that I've hit the proverbial* nail right on the head. "What about today is making you anxious?"

"I'm worried that if I don't make a good impression, they'll all convince you to dump me because they don't think I'm worthy of you, or something like that."

"Y/N, babe, I've told you once, and I'll say to you as many times as you need to hear it, I don't care what anyone says about our relationship. I will never, ever leave you. Besides, knowing them, they'll worship you like a god and wonder how you ended up with a guy like me."

"Thank you, Kuroo. I love you so, so much, okay? I can't wait to get a better view of your life."

Hearing that, I gave Y/N a quick peck on the cheek and ducked back behind the counter, placing our lunch in a bag while he finished getting ready.

Kuroo is a surprisingly good cook. That's what I'm thinking about, the remnants of breakfast churning happily in my stomach while he rolls down the road towards the city. I don't like the city. I don't go to the city. Somehow, though, this all feels okay.

Mercury for the ask game!

Alrighty, I love Merc so much, so let's go!

What are my top four favorite non-romantic relationship dynamics for them?

Roman Torchwick - Guys, I absolutely freaking love this dynamic. I know I already said in my Emerald ask that Torchwick could be the father figure she never had, but that applies to Mercury too! Like guys, it is problematic and semi toxic, and they would argue all the time and yet get kind of dependent on each other. But boy howdy guys, I just love these two and any interactions I've written for them (which is a lot of interactions. XD) Emerald - I also talked about this in my Emerald post, but I really think that they were like, the only friends each other had for the better part of their lives. Their back and forth is really good and they just care about each other so clearly, and they compliment each other's personality. They're close enough that I completely understand and can even enjoy ship content for them, but for me they're sibling/best friend energy. Neo - You know, Roman, Emerald, Neo, and Mercury wound up being a team in like, ninety percent of my (never published) fanfictions that I've written with why-i-hate-rwby-now and in them, Neo took a really long time to come around to Emerald and Mercury being part of her and Roman's team when she'd long been used to being a duo, but once she came around and started trusting Emerald and Mercury... Their dynamic within that turned out just so good! Neo could understand Mercury (because they fill a similar protector/follower capacity, and in my headcanoned version, Neo's past was similar to Mercury's.) Basically, this could be a super good dynamic. Is this list completely the same as my list of favorite non-romance driven relationships for Emerald so far? Yes. But, I'm about to throw y'all a curveball... With Sun! Who I've talked about in my Sun ask replies! (God, I hope this isn't too boring for you guys. XD) - Sonic and Shadow-ish rivalry and tension based friendship, please and thank you! Like, they could just be so good. To talk a bit about Mercury's side, he seems like a character who really wants to be entertained, but he also needs someone who can and will call him out, but who sticks it out for the long haul. They would fight all the time, Sun could match his confidence (and also weather through his insecurities, because people can be both,) and Sun also would be like "Dude, you're totally hiding your sweet and dorky side, Neptune does this all the time, okay listen-" And Mercury would get all sulky and defensive, but... Yeah.

What season were they at their best and why?

I want to say season six, and that's primarily because we get some of his backstory, and I feel like he got so much depth in this season specifically. Like, he wasn't just an admittedly cool character with clearly hidden depths laughing about doing bad (don't get me wrong, I already loved him pre volume six.) We got to see some of how he reasons through things, some of the way he works, and how he deals with conflict. Mercury is such a layered character, but also such a versatile one, and a lot of it comes from that scene where he's talking to Emerald after they lose Cinder.

What season were they at their worst and why?

Technically season one, when he made a very minor appearance as a floating cardboard cutout with an off color scheme. But, real answer, season five, because he didn't get very much content during that season, but unlike season six, we didn't get any new development during for him, and unlike the early seasons, we didn't get very good back and forth dialogue. Also they forgot how to make everyone fight, and it was... so painful.

How would I rank their outfits from worst to best?

1. The worst is his Beacon Dance look. They only made like, one outfit for every man who wasn't Sun, and it makes me want to vomit. Why couldn't we get Ren in coat-tails and Mercury in a tux and Jaune in a tweed jacket and Neptune in a button-down with rolled up sleeves and leather pants? It's just sad. 2. His season 2-6 look. I have nothing against this look, though maybe the collar could look better. Still, it's fine, but it really does need more color. 3. His season 8 look. I admit, this one had to grow on me and I still hate his dumb foot emblem being on his jacket, but the slight hints of grayish blue and orange just make the outfit look so good.

Which Hogwarts House would I sort them into (optional; what would their wand be?)

Merc is a Hufflepuff. I think he's loyal (to people that earn it like Emerald,) he really values hard work, and I think a lot of the other Hufflepuff tendencies have been pushed down like kindness and generosity, but that they're still there under the surface. What do I think this character would be like if they were on the opposite side (good characters are bad, bad characters are good)

Ooh, good guy Mercury! Instead of Cinder finding him after he kills his father, Qrow's the one who finds him. Qrow pays for his medical expenses and brings him to Ironwood, who floats the bill for free prosthetics and offers Mercury a place in Atlas Academy. He tries to push aside some of his not great, taught instincts and 'be the kind of person who would deserve that,' despite assurances from Ironwood and Qrow that it's like, basic human decency. Ironwood asks Mercury to try to help and protect Penny when they go to Beacon. He's annoyed by her and thinks she's naïve and childish, and fears that if he messes up and she gets hurt, he'll lose his life in Atlas. But he also gets attached quick, and starts seeing things through her world view and trying to trust her, helping her do things like escape from the guards escorting her so long as she lets him go with her, which leads him to be involved with Team RWBY. And then oof, the Fall of Beacon hits him hard. He's torn up by guilt after losing Penny, and gets really reckless fighting during the Battle of Beacon, winding up hurt himself. When he wakes up again on a plane back to Atlas, he thinks he's going to get in trouble and maybe get thrown out into the streets for failing to do what he's been told, but he's welcomed back and James is just relieved that he's alive. Mercury stays working in Atlas, and when Penny is repaired, he's really happy, but he's still wrestling with a lot of guilt and gets way overprotective of her. (Also this would be an AU where Ironwood stays good because I can do whatever I want with this and also this would definitely include a Mercury x Whitley ship because I can do whatever I want with this.)

If I suddenly had control of RWBY, what would I want to do with this character after the events of V8?

Redemption Arc, son! Mercury would start his redemption arc in Vacuo, severely doubting Tyrian and Salem now and missing and worrying over Emerald. He'd leave after a bit, but not go full hero, and instead be an anti hero, not listening to RENO (Ren, Emerald, Neo, and Oscar, since they're the left behind group,) and being more ruthless than they think is appropriate, and still thinking that the Huntsman Academies and the Kingdom systems are flawed and that their should be big changes, but growing more apologetic for the harm he's done anyway.

Random DCMK Things: Episode 928

I know this is a bit late so, I'll get straight to the point and just say that I absolutely love how they animated the ShinRan kiss and the whole Kyoto Arc in general. Everything was perfect from the whole big picture itself down to every little detail that it is made up of. I absolutely love how they expressed the emotions of the characters not just by conveying through the dialogue but through the nuances of the characters itself. The close up shots showing their body language, the emotional delivery of the lines and the reactions of the people around them. I've also said this before with HeiKazu in an episode where Heiji attempted to confess. I'm glad that they did this with ShinRan's most special moment as well. Congrats to the whole Detective Team!

Everything was just connected and working in a smooth-flowing harmony, not a sore thumb in sight! The whole staff did a really great job with the art and the seiiyuus were so great with their portrayal of the characters!

Okay so as I was saying, I really like how they showed every little detail of ShinRan's body language. Like here, we see Shinichi awkwardly looking away from Ran when he was being all jealous about the whole Okita thing. I love how they did two angles of this! It's just effing cute! You can clearly tell that Shinichi's so uneasy and highkey arrogant to admit that he's jealous. 😂

And here, we see Ran tiptoe-ing to reach Shinichi! Like oh my god! Whoever thought to include this shot was amazing. This reminds me of when Heiji was all fidgety with his foot when he was confessing to Kazuha! Who would've thought that foot shots could actually make a big difference in conveying the characters' emotions and actions

Anyway, here we get a grasp of ShinRan's height difference. I never really thought about it that much because on most angles the height difference doesn't seem to be too evident but here we see that Shinichi is in fact taller than Ran and it's just feels so different for him because as Conan he's so much smaller than her. This further establishes what he meant on episode 927 when he said that he feels different standing next to Ran in his original body. That he too never realized that he was taller than her. Here it sinks in that Shinichi and Ran are always together as Conan and Ran and in their daily routine Ran does get to touch Conan, like hold his hand to school or whatever but it's definitely different when Shinichi is in his normal body. Here we get a glimpse of Ran being cute and small and precious and Shinichi's just happy that this time he can actually easily reach her unlike when he's Conan. IDK if I'm making sense but we often just get to see Ran being taller than him it's no big deal but to Shinichi it definitely does. We often see Ran being motherly to Conan, protecting Conan like he's such a fragile thing. Imagine what Shinichi must've felt. For this moment, he is taller than her. Tall enough to reach her, tall enough to pull her in his arms and maybe, tall enough to protect her. This time Ran's his fragile little person to hold... And while, Ran being all mature, independent and motherly is a sight I love to see, sometimes it's just nice to see her this way. It reminds us that sometimes she needs Shinichi to depend on too.

Here, we finally see THE KISS! (in different angles just like Gosho did in the manga!) I like how Ran cut off Shinichi's rambling. I totally love how Kappei Yamaguchi did this scene especially the little startled gasp he did when Ran pulled Shinichi's tie. And the icing on top of this all is when Mai Kuraki's song fades in and this scene becomes even more beautiful than it already was. It was smoothly transitioned in the scene and it just gives more feeling to it. It was totally romantic and magical!

And when they pull away, we get a shot of Shinichi all startled and touching his cheek, where Ran kissed him. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember seeing a panel of this in the manga so I liked what they did here. I love how Shinichi lingered at the moment of it all. That he seemed to take time to absorbed what happened and his emotions are all over the place. Ahhh and Ran's adorable smile totally made Shinichi forget that he was jealous. Lol. Shinichi's such a sucker for that smile.

Also, look at Ran tilting her head when she asked him if it was good enough. Sometimes, because they are childhood friends I tend to forget that Ran would feel insecure about doing skinships with Shinichi. But as a couple, this shows how new it must seem to her. Here we see that this kiss was definitely a big leap for Ran to do. Yet another act of bravery done by our amazing girl!

People tend to overlook Ran's bravery in the series because she cries a lot. (Don't get me started on this one.) But if y'all look deeper Ran was never portrayed as a damsel in distress in the first place–lot's of episodes prove that but point is... Ran's one of the best characters ever seen in a shonen anime. She breaks the common leading lady in a shonen stereotype. Here she shows us that there's nothing wrong about girls doing the first move. There's nothing wrong about kissing your man instead of waiting for him to kiss you but she also needed that affirmation from him. "Was it good enough?" like, Is this okay? Did you really want me to kiss you? Is it okay if I touch you? This is new to me but I hope this shows what I feel about you. Because it's all new to her and she knows it's all new to him too. It's a big step for both of them and they would have to do this whole couple thing, one step at a time right?

And Shinichi's response is...

God sexual tension here is soooo damn intense. You can feel it in his voice especially when Kappei Yamaguchi as Shinichi said, "Dame darou! "

It was so whiny and strained in such an adorable way. IDK how to further express it but it's one of the loveliest things here in this scene. It sounded very new as Shinichi but it was still a Shinichi thing to do.

IDK if I'm making clear sense. But we're so used to a calm Kudo Shinichi. Even in Desperate Revival Arc where he got to hug Ran in a play and was so close to kissing her, he was still in control. But here, sister Shinichi snapped! We get a full grasp that here he's just tired of waiting. He has wasted so many moments, so many opportunities to show her he loves her and he's more than ready to take that big leap. And though he didn't get that kiss, it still makes me happy that he did pull her for a kiss. Because Shinichi is ready to take that step. He's done playing around. He's not gonna take her for granted anymore.

Also, I remember @detectivegeekshin saying that his hands seem bigger in this arc/in the frame where he puts his hands on Ran's shoulders. It's so weird but I kind of like that they animated it like that too. It seems a bit inconsistent with the old art but tbh, the DC art has been changing ever so constantly through time. 😂 But yeah, I like the way Shinichi's hands make Ran look a bit smaller and precious. Like this time, he's more in control now and he can hold her and she fits perfectly in his arms. I can only imagine how it would be like once they get to hold hands and do other couple-y stuff. Shinichi would be startled doing skinship with Ran because it is so much different is his normal body than when he is Conan.

Also it makes Shinichi look more manly. It's kinda hot lol. (I have a weird hand fetish honestly. Hahaha. Don't judge me. ≥﹏≤)

Overall, I'm just gushing over how this love arc is going so well. I'm happy for ShinRan and I'm really hoping that they'd get all the happiness they deserve.

And again, we see Phum coming here for no reason but to drop Peem off.

Also, he usually just stayed in the car previously, but now he's walking with Peem all the way.

I reckon we'll be seeing much more of Phum appearing in front of the Fine Arts building for nothing but to drop off or talk to his boyfriend Peem, in a slight reflection of all the times he came here to take Peem off somewhere to make him do something for him.

And I can't wait for it. <3

Phum's backstory was painful to hear, but I kind of expected something like this. It would explain his attachment to plushies, his fear of losing people and behaviour that might seem "childish".

Jokes apart, I know they're both a bit insecure, and they didn't get off to the best start. But I hope that in the next ep, they'll realize they're both head over heels for the other and finally start dating.

That scene in the shop was very sweet too, and most PhumPeem scenes in this ep had me going all gooey and mushy hehe

Phum in the painting studio?!

This painting studio is Peem's safe space, and he's allowing Phum in there willingly.

Slowly, but surely, he's letting Phum in, and starting to accept that yes, this guy is an idiot, but he's an idiot Peem really really likes.

I knew this was coming but that didn't mean I was ready for it 🫣😳

This scene is a goddamn masterpiece. It rendered me speechless. What am I supposed to say to that?

Peem's soft little "You did a great job, getting through those times." has me in a chokehold. The nose boop, the kiss- I'm screaming crying rolling around on the bed.

Tried to do a confident walk away but the gate was in his way 😭

Peem is me though, I bump into things like thrice a day at the least.

He- 😶

I gasped at this scene, because you realize what this means right?

This painting, that was ruined due to Phum, that he had to painstakingly repaint while having to obey Phum's whims, this painting that represents his comfort (I don't know shit about art interpretation, but in grade 12 I had friends who'd taken art and I learnt a couple things from them), that represents himself, and in this painting, he adds bright red roses, for the ones that Phum gave him when he was driving him back because he was absolutely wasted, the roses he didn't have the heart to throw out.

And he's drawing these red roses to represent Phum, to show that inexplicably, but undeniably, Phum is a part of his life now; a part he likes enough to embed in one of his most prized paintings (as assumed from various context clues and such along the series). And when he does, he thinks of how Professor Po said "Every work you create contains a piece of you".

If this doesn't show that despite his caustic and sarcastic exterior, Peem is a sappy mushy romantic at heart (he is a Fine Arts student after all), I don't know what does.

This moment felt so poetic (I literally could write a poem about it and it still wouldn't be able to capture the raw beauty and vulnerability and love of this scene.)

Update: I really did write a poem about it 😭

I really like this scene.

Apart from not leaving Kluen hanging, and making sure he knows, this moment is also about Peem admitting to himself aloud, that yes, he does like Phum. He's slowly getting out of De Nile.

He didn't have to say this, but he did. To gently reject Kluen and tell himself that there was no going back now.

This moment is everything to me (other than the one in the painting studio of course).

Peem tried to muster the courage to tell all his friends that he and Phum were... well, more than enemies or friends at least, but he couldn't.

And Phum, my beloved, while more than a little emotionally constipated, he has consistently tried to tell Peem what he feels. And now, he's the one outright saying he likes Peem in front of everyone. He's the one saying "okay, if you can't, I will." And I love him for it. He does it while staring right at Peem too.
