this ask has been sitting in my inbox for about 39 years now but I have actually had a think about it so here I go

basically I think AU-ing anything into the DSMP would be incredibly challenging because it doesn't have many concrete universe rules. like we know hybrids and whatnot exist, we have the base universe of minecraft (minus the End ig) and the most defined part of the lore is the revival system which is a bit difficult to do anything with tbh

the way to make this interesting (and viable) would be to assign DSMP factions to the drivers and try imagining WHEN and WHY they would have chosen to align with those ideas and people (again this pretty much requires coming up with a new plotline which I'm a little too hyperfixed on the dbh au for atm) (you can pretty much reimagine the whole "plot" of the DSMP with the factions and main plotpoints being kept actually hmmmmmm just the relations changing. potential there.)

like imagine Landoscar (non-americans) with early L'Manburg meanwhile Logan is stuck outside. pure angst potential

my cTubbo (and cSchlatt and cDream) enjoyer brain also very very much wants to draw them as goat/deer hybrids because uhh yes. or just give them horns like the fandom did with cTommy

okay real question what happens when a hybrid character with horns gets revived. white horn maybe....

another big ol' questionmark would be how the drivers' lives could be adapted into the story. one thing that comes to mind is how Oscar moved to England alone at like 14, which my brain immediately associates with cTubbo. or Lando growing up as a shy kid with very little friends, very reminiscent of clingyduo in L'Manburg with the whole getting lifelong trauma thing

basically my thesis is that Landoscar (and Loscar actually) are clingyduo. I am not open to critiscism at this time (I actually am do please discuss this with me there's only a low chance I'll bite you)

I would point out that there is SO much angst potential with the whole L'Manbirg to Pogtopia and Manburg to everything that went on in the prison thing and I haven't even brought up cWilbur yet (the character and the person make me ill in such different ways urgh)

a thing (definitely one of my favorite things at that) about the DSMP is how EVERYONE is a main character depending on who you choose to follow, which is incredibly similar to how F1 works tbh so shockingly enough that's actually easy to adapt

another aspect I had a think about was dsmp character to driver associations which I honestly really want to do a questionnaire on and like make a research post about (someone actually did something similar to this about fandom to F1 pipelines go look at it it's very interesting)

my hypothesis is that associating single characters to drivers would be relatively simple (just a question of what role they play in their respective communities really, plus what vibes they give off lmao) BUT making those connections with groups/duos/trios/etc like actually reimagining the system would yield different results to singular associations. which is just a result of different environments having different ecosystems ig but it would be interesting to see nonetheless. in my brain some DSMP characters' roles would be filled by several drivers and some drivers would take on several roles at the same time which is absolutely fascinating to me

I think. that's all the thoughts I had about that (miight make a post about my driver-character associations at some point but I wanna sit down and have a proper think about that first) (all I'm saying is that Alex Albon is cRanboo)

Had originally played Disgaea 4 a promise revisited on my ps vita. It was my second disgaea game (first being Disgaea 2 pc) And sure, it didn't have the master pupic skill system easilly given to everyone but it was lit. I quickly loved the sheer amount of content. And the visuals paved the way for the golden visual trilogy which was d4 dd2 and d5(i guess i could add d1 complete? kinda?) Yk, good ol day. 2d drawn.

but as much as i love that game. And it's characters. And it's cool dlcs. IT HAS GIG FOR GODS SAKE!!!!

And now played through it again. in the Complete+ edition on steam.

It's the weakest mechanically wise for me. The limit and frustration of placing evil symbols in the HQ. the fact you need to buy skills with mana. and you need to boost them for spells to even be usesable outside of one target. HOW IS A HEALER SUPPOSTED TO GET THAT AMOUNT OF MANA. But i am getting too into it.

But like... whyyy, whyyy. did it have to limit which class can actually learn top tier skills? for the longst time i though soaring neptune must have been the highest tier sword skill. But then i found out MALE WARRIORS JUST DON'T GET THEM? Ok. OKAY these are all small gripes.

So the joy of D5 and it's combat was like you showed me super steroid jesus. omg the best chara world. Skill system of the SP use going down with mastery which lets you then scale them up damage wise and it offsets itself kinda? Briliant.

Didn't have Gig. That what made disgaea 5 a 11/10 game a 10/10 for me

final thoughts: pretty damn good! their stories intertwined better than I was expecting (though I eagerly wait for a soc centric adaptation), kaz’s little displays of affection for inej sprinkled throughout the episodes was CHEFS kiss, the darkling is a piece of shit and that’s why he’s a good villain, MAL & ALINA ARE LIKEABLE (and bc of that am now I’m considering a reread of TGT), and jesper continues to be so iconic. everyone WISHES they were him. and also wow it was very visually pleasing. i feel like they got lots of things right with the worldbuilding!

ALL IN ALL: great test run for bringing the grishaverse to screen now give me the crows and their heist 😌 (but fr ...3 likes and i’ll pick up tgt again)

LISTEN. the mines kevin and archie (and later fred and tom) went to were in fox forest, right? fox forest is cut to half by the sweetwater river. therefore part of the forest is on greendale. could the mines be the same mines as the ones harvey saw satan in? there was a drawing in the latest episode that was about the gargoyle king, but also looked a LOT like satan does in caos. i feel like that consipiracy theory meme but could the gargoyle king be (or at least be related to) satan himself?

ok but legitimately EVEN IF i thought a crossover that extensive (a whole season baddy being the bad guy from an entirey different show) was a route they were going to take (which would be ambitious and cool and i wouldn’t rly mind if these two shows just entirely integrated into each other tbh [in a ~canon confirmed~ way, not necessarily becoming one show oof], but that’s assuming it would be done right, which, considering the riverdale writers’ track record, is literally never going to happen pffjfh so), i actually don’t think the gargoyle king is all that comparable to the whole goat fursona thing the dark lord’s got going on over on tcaos. unless he just. changed forms. like a serious downgrade for the sake of podunkville over here. which i mean. sure. but it’s not as cool hdjdj as an audience or from a writer’s perspective.

i would however be willing to consider it’s a witch-y sort of thing going on, related to greendale in some way, but not necessarily satan himself. i think little details like those mines being in fox forest, which just happens to be shared by both riverdale and greendale, are intentional, especially considering the more supernatural nature of the villain this season (even if it turns out to be a nerd in a costume, the presentation has more of a boogeyman feel intentionally), so honestly, anything could happen at this point. this season has been a RIDE tbh so actually, if it is satan himself, u know, fine ok phrhfhfh it’s just riverdale tbh, i’ll roll with it x

cause i suck and as much as i hate riverdale i haven’t actually found a good enough reason to stop watching yet 8D but fingers cross u know xx
