Putting this in the tags as well, but this is why ginger ale and saltines work on a medical level to reduce nausea:
Ginger contains a chemical Gingerol. Gingerol, when we eat it or drink it in ginger-based foods and drinks, causes our GI systems to empty food and acids from the stomach to your small intestine faster, which reduces the nausea caused by a stomach bug/mild food poisoning/motion sickness. The more your stomach senses it's empty and calm, the less it tells your brain you're sick. Ginger is also a natural anti inflammatory, which can calm an irritated stomach and further reduce your symptoms.
Saltines are leavened (raised) using baking soda rather than yeast. Baking soda's chemical name is Sodium Bicarbonate. Sodium bicarbonate is the primary active ingredient in many OTC antacids that are known to treat nausea caused by acid indigestion.
By these two ingredients combined, you have a very efficient and natural way of settling an upset tummy while also getting some extra nourishment and electrolytes to further help your body recover and your symptoms to go away faster.
FYI: If you're so nauseated that you can only handle sipping water, mixing about 1/2tsp or 2.84g of baking soda into room temperature or lukewarm water will turn the water into a very, very mild, flavorless antacid. Please remember to talk to a doctor if you're experiencing new, protracted, or worsening symptoms.

Fire Cider Recipe 1:
Fire Cider Ingredients
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1/2 to 1 cup honey
1/2 cup horseradish
8 cloves of garlic, chopped
1/2 onion
1/2 cup ginger
1 sliced jalapeño
1/2 cup fresh turmeric OR 1 tbsp dried turmeric (optional)
1/2 lemon (optional)
1/2 orange (optional)
1 tsp peppercorns (optional)
2 whole cinnamon sticks (optional)
2 rosemary sprigs (optional)
4 thyme sprigs (optional)
Directions
Prepare ingredients and place them in a sterilized quart-sized glass jar.
Pour the apple cider vinegar and honey in the jar until all of the ingredients are covered and the vinegar reaches 1/2 inch from the jar’s top. You can use a glass fermentation weight on top to keep the ingredients submerged, but that is just a preference. Shake well. Store in a dark, cool place for a month, shaking daily. It’s in vinegar, so it won’t go bad! Once done, strain, bottle, and label.
Storage: It’s vinegar, so it keeps all winter and early spring (6 months) if left in a cool dark place. Keeps in the refrigerator for up to 10 months. You can take a dropperful every few hours, or I put 2 -3 droppers full into a big mug of hot water and drink that.

I know you're into soda in general but do you have any particular opinion on the 3 gingers (ale, beer, soda)?
I love ginger like, everything, ginger candies, gnawing on the root, etc. Grew up on Canada dry for nausea and flu. I really do like ginger beer as well, the spicier the better, I feel like in terms of gingerol burn the pirate one in the glass bottle is most potent Clears the sinuses. I can't say there's three gingers to me tho cuz I've only had gingerale and ginger beer and I feel like "ginger soda" is just gingerale, although perhaps this is semantics. But yeah I think gingerale is like a cornerstone soda and a health tonic and ginger beer is even better.

if YOU are ever having severe indigestion, eat some straight up pickled ginger. I mean it. The crispest most mouth-puckering ginger you can find will break down into Gingerol and make your stomach kick into gear. as a bonus, it tastes great with rice!

Hello Sir,
I wanted to ask if ginger paste can be as effectively made using Vaseline and dried ginger powder for a thicker coating. I’m finally going to fig my bottom with your finger paste recipe and wanted to see if a thicker base would work or just oil.
I've never tried ginger powder with Vaseline, so you'll have to experiment. Please let me know, or add a reply to this message!
In theory, it could work, but it depends how soluble the gingerol in the ginger powder is in Vaseline. Petroleum jelly is a semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons, whereas edible oils are liquid mixtures of fatty acids like Oleic acid. Liquid oils have much better solubility and miscibility than semi-solids.
Nothing bad will happen if you mix petroleum jelly with ginger powder, but there's a chance the powder will just be embedded within the jelly as a mushy paste. If the gingerol doesn't dissolve out, it will never come into contact with your intimate places, and so you won't feel its heat.
