Robin is one of my favorite straw hats and it is a literal shame that it took the anime only shows part of her humor, strength, ingenuity, and dedication. So happy to finish this really dramatic piece of her! I hope she gets more air time of her being weird, kind, funny, and clever with her power. She has so much personality that she doesn't get the chance to show off in the anime and it's just a shame.

Now that we have seen Nico Robin turn into a gigantic version of herself I want her to turn into gigantic clones of herself and break an army of giants apart by sprouting clones from their bodies and tearing them apart. I wouldn’t might if it was a demonic version either. Just saying.

"Isso é terrível..."

Abel Nightroad suspirou enquanto levantava os óculos redondos.

Realmente, aquela era uma noite bastante agradável.

Do lado de fora das janelas, nos arbustos de tojos dourados, rouxinóis cantavam uma suave canção noturna, enquanto no céu ligeiramente nublado, duas luas de tamanhos diferentes flutuavam envoltas em nuvens de algodão.　

Mas, se voltamos a atenção para o interior, o que se via afundando sob a luz prateada era uma massa de cadáveres. Pedaços de carne, cortados até perderem a sua forma original, e que ainda emitiam vapores em vermelho.

"É completamente cruel... Quem diabos faria algo assim?"

Abel suspirou mais uma vez. Se ele tivesse, ao menos, descoberto a existência deste bar um pouco mais cedo...

''...Hã? Quem está aí?

Abel chamou de trás do balcão. Uma figura emergiu. Era um homem alto e robusto, que se aproximava com passos instáveis. Em suas mãos, ele segurava algo que parecia ser uma bola...

Quando a luz da lua o iluminou, um grito abafado escapou da garganta de Abel. Um homem completamente tingido de vermelho, como se tivesse nadado em um mar de sangue. Sangue fresco gotejava da cabeça decepada de uma mulher que estava em suas mãos. E as presas expostos em sua boca...

“Wa-aaaaaah!”

Quando Abel se virou, já era tarde demais, seus pés tropeçaram. Com um rugido, o vampiro saltou em direção ao desamparado padre. Seus braços como troncos agarraram os ombros da caça. As presas gotejando saliva vermelha se aproximaram de seu pescoço ─　

Num instante, com um estrondo que fez parecer como se a própria noite estivesse se despedaçando, o corpo gigantesco foi arremessado ao chão.

Sua mandíbula estava aberta, provavelmente em uma tentativa de gritar. No entanto, somente o que jorrou dela foi uma grande quantidade de sangue fresco e fragmentos de órgãos internos que foram expelidos. Além disso, uma sucessão de balas atingiu impiedosamente seus membros, selando completamente as atividades de seu corpo gigante.

“.... O quê!?”　

Os lábios de Abel, que estava caído ao chão, mal se moveram. Exceto pelo zumbido nos ouvidos, ele não teve lesões externas. As balas não o tinham atingido.

...Um som rígido ecoou do teto marcado pelas balas. Passos pesados ressoaram, marchando pelas escadas com uma precisão quase mecânica.

Era uma voz terrivelmente inflexível.

Um jovem padre ocupava a porta de entrada. O rosto sob o cabelo curto era bonito, mas inexpressivo, como uma máscara. E em sua mão segurava uma enorme arma – a Jericho Ｍ13 “Dies Irae” de calibre 13mm, cujo cano ainda exalava fumaça de pólvora fresca.

"Por-por que você está aqui? Pensei que estivesse investigando um caso de sequestros em massa em uma instituição de caridade em algum lugar..."

“... ...”

Padre Tres - membro do Departamento de Operações Especiais da Secretaria de Estado do Vaticano, a Divisão AX – O Padre itinerante Tres Iqus não respondeu à pergunta. Em silêncio, apenas puxou o gatilho duas vezes em direção ao chão.

“!”

Com um grito abafado, o corpo do vampiro, que estava prestes a se levantar, afundou novamente.

“Tre-Tres-kun!”

"Eu não o matei. Ainda tenho algumas perguntas para ele... Mas antes disso, Padre Nightroad, por que está aqui? Tem algo relacionado com o incidente do Tristan?"

"Eh, sim. Ouvi dizer que o grupo chamado “Fleurs du Mal”, ao qual o vampiro Alfred pertencia, estava usando este lugar como sua base. Mas cheguei tarde demais. Tantas vítimas..."

" ‘Vítimas’ ? Negative, isso é um equívoco da sua parte."

Tres disse impassivelmente enquanto trocava o carregador da arma.

"Os que estão aqui não são as 'vítimas dos vampiros'... são os 'próprios vampiros'."

"...! En-então isso significa que eles mataram uns aos outros!? Mas por quê!?"

"Resposta indisponível. Dados insuficientes."

Com um olhar gélido apontou para o segundo andar.

"Todas as vítimas do sequestro já foram usadas como presas... Um interrogatório é impossível."

"Mas que coisa. Ouvi dizer que apenas crianças órfãs foram sequestradas, mas... Mmgh!?"

O olhar de Tres moveu-se rapidamente pela escuridão enquanto cobria a boca do colega. No entanto, nesta noite mortalmente silenciosa, não havia sinais de nada que possuísse vida...

Abel perguntou em um tom mais silencioso que conseguira reproduzir:

“...que som foi esse?”

“Alí.”

Tres respondeu e com a ponta da arma indicou para o fundo da cozinha. O som leve de roupas roçando podia ser ouvido vindo da porta da adega.

"…Tenho certeza de que havia mais de vinte membros da 'Fleurs du Mal', não é?"

"Positive. Estima-se que ainda haja doze... Vamos entrar rápido."

Da quietude para ação... a voz indiferente foi seguida por uma série de estrondos que poderiam fazer até os mortos saltarem.

Quando a porta de ferro, junto com as dobradiças, foi arremessada, o corpo de Tres se transformou em uma rajada de vento. O projetor acoplado ao cano da M “Deis Irae” rasgou a escuridão com sua luz, enquanto liberava seu enorme poder de fogo sobre a sombra que se movia no centro do halo luminoso...

“Tr-Tres-kun, pare! Espere!”

Abel saltou e agarrou-se ao braço do colega, que estava prestes a apertar o gatilho novamente.

“Po-por favor, não atire! É uma criança...”

A figura encolhida na luz – era uma garota de cabelos dourados e seus olhos castanhos avermelhados estavam arregalados em surpresa.

Recreation

Over the weekend I went to a historical-recreation-society camping event for the first time in... too long. A year? And it was joyful and comforting and restorative. Three months ago I was sorry to be alive; today, all day, was happy. And the greater part of that difference does lie in physical health, even though I have comparatively little to complain about - illness lifted blessedly off like a break in the clouds in time for this festival - but the festival made the rest of the difference. Stepping aside into a magic kingdom of high trust, good will, dense human connections on a scale that makes sense to our social intuitions, agency in shaping one's immediate environment, a living oral culture, pride of craftsmanship, visual beauty and lightheartedness. And singing and candlelight, which science is eventually going to find to be vital mental nutrients, I bet. I become deficient in all these things, and physical touch to boot, when I stay too long out of the kingdom.

And I can't very well put their pictures here, but I wish I could convey firmly enough how handsome all my friends were. You'll have to trust me. I have dashing friends with spiffy doublets. One gigantically-bearded jovial friend bore nine plumes in his yearly-expanding hat. The landsknechts slouched around like mock-pugnacious rainbow scarecrows in their slashy pants and their fantastically individual coats. One friend was given a major award, and she'd made a gown which I thought was black (the ceremony was at night, on the open green with a chilly wind blowing out the torches almost as fast as anyone could relight them and all the banners snapping) but which turned out in daylight to be deep green, stamped with gold fleurs-de-lys, and a tall hennin (the cone hat you see on medieval ladies in picture books); and instead of walking sedately to kneel before the king and queen, as you might reasonably expect of somebody in that dress, she danced a galliard over the green to them, in the near-dark, with her cone hat staying on and her veil floating and the fleurs-de-lys flashing, and finished up at the queen's feet on the last beat of the music which we had by no means all managed to rehearse, because she's that good. It's good to remember that "splendid" is a way human beings can look.

(The next day she was playing dance sets next to me in a cotton-drill kirtle and gumboots. There's a time to dance, and then next morning there's another time to dance in different weather conditions and contra the prophet none of it is vanity and all of it is great.)

Tiara Predictions - State Visit from Spain to the Netherlands

King Felipe and Queen Letizia will be in the Netherlands today and tomorrow. The visit will focus Spanish-Dutch diplomacy, sports, energy, business, mental health, young people, the arts and technology.

Now to the predictions…

Tiara I want Maxima to wear: Dutch Sapphire Parure Tiara. I expect both Queens will bring out the big guns tonight and this is my favourite gigantic tiara so I’d love it if Maxima wore it! She last wore it in November 2021 for the State Visit to Norway.

My Prediction: Stuart Tiara. Maxima has worn this tiara six times out of nine when attending events with more than one royal family since debuting this tiara in 2018. She last wore it in an official portrait in November 2023 to mark the 10th anniversary of the accession of Willem-Alexander.

The tiara I want Letizia to wear: the Pearl Loop Tiara. This is my favourite large Spanish tiara and was last worn in November 2021 for the State Visit from Italy.

My Prediction: the Fleur de Lys Tiara. Similar to Maxima, Letizia has worn this tiara every time she has attended a multi-royal event ever since she debuted this tiara in 2017. She last wore it in November 2023 for the State Visit to Denmark.

The Tiara I want Amalia to wear: Dutch Diamond Bandeau Tiara. My favourite Dutch tiara! This would also coordinate beautifully with the Stuart Tiara if Maxima wears it. The tiara was last worn in October 2019 by Queen Maxima for the State Visit to India.

My Prediction: Sapphire Necklace Tiara. Amalia has attended 4 tiara events and has worn 3 different tiaras so this is the prediction that I’m least confident about. I really hope that Amalia wears this tiara if Maxima wears the larger Sapphire Parure Tiara. The tiara was last worn by Amalia in October 2023 for the birthday celebrations of Prince Christian.

I don’t have any strong opinions on the tiaras that Beatrix and Margriet will wear and this post is already long enough so I have only provided predictions.

Winter

Yusuke - Pretty much the same uniform as canon Akira, after the first arc he switches to a similar top to his canon one, with the fleur-de-lis patch on the right breast and everything. Doesn't wear the blazer. Akechi - Black turtleneck over the regular Shujin uniform. No blazer. Wears a red choker and studded bracelets on each wrist as a sign of rebellion against Principal Shido. Has piercings - I imagine a nose piercing and maybe snake bites? Probably gauges as well? Futaba - Wears a red sweater over the turtleneck. Also no blazer (gee im sensing a pattern). Skirt is the same length as most students, in fact probably wears it a bit lower. Wears black mary janes instead of the loafers, and knee high light grey socks with rabbit emblems on the side Akira - No tie, pops his collar, open blazer covered in pins and badges. Cuffs his pants, wears black combat boots with his uniform instead. Has twin studs in his ears, a nose ring and wears a whole lotta jewelery and other decorations. Has a matching necklace with his brother Ren Haru - Surprisingly less prim and proper than her role as Student Council President would suggest. Pale pink sweater over the turtleneck, buttons up the blazer from the top to the middle. Wears black tights and the same loafers as every other girl. Has red rose earrings in each ear. Wears a pink headband Ann - Wears a similar varisty hoodie as her canon uniform - with blue lining and a gigantic 'S' at the bottom - but its unzipped, being over the button down top of the Kosei uniform. Wears the bow tie of the Kosei uniform, but with a heart shaped button stitched to the centre. Rolls her skirt up, but wears shorts beneath the skirt, and navy blue legwarmers over the typical brown loafers. Wears black and white striped scrunchies that match the tie 'Sumire' - Much like Yusuke, wears the same Shujin uniform as her canon counterpart, just with long black tights and a pair of light blue ballet flats. Wears a blue and white striped headband

Summer

Yusuke - Same as Akira's in canon - polo shirt with the same pants and shoes as the winter uniform Akechi - Wears a black Featherman tank-top instead of the white polo. Cuffs his pants somewhat. Keeps the red choker and studded bracelets from his winter attire, but adds on some extra bracelets that go up the left side of his arm Futaba - Wears the same polo and skirt as the rest of the girls, but with the polo tucked into the skirt and the skirt rolled up slightly. Wears biker shorts beneath the skirt and has a lime green hoodie tied around her waist with triforce symbols on it. Replaces her grey thigh high socks with ankle high white ones covered in black rabbits. Wears the same mary janes as in Winter Akira - Unbuttons the shirt all the way, revealing he's wearing a black tank top with a band logo on it. Still pops the collar and lacks the tie. Switches the boots for a pair of white plimsoll shoes with a tonne of little doodles on them. Cuffs his pants and has been trying to get Ann to make them more like shorts Haru - Wears the same polo and skirt as the rest of the girls, but the polo is tucked into the skirt and held up by a black belt. Switches out her tights for pale pink ankle high socks and wears the same loafers as the rest of the school. Switches her rose earrings for daisies and wears a white headband instead of a pink one Ann - Wears the shirt untucked and slightly unbuttoned at the bottom - occasionally will tie it up into a little ribbon over the skirt. Doesn't wear the tie this time around - it's too warm for that. Doesn't have shorts this time, but does keep her navy blue legwarmers from before. Has one of her black and white striped scrunchies on her right wrist 'Sumire' - Wears a pale pink cardigan over the polo shirt, black skirt and blue ballet flats. Keeps the blue and white headband from her Winter uniform
