name: Gia Harris gender & pronouns: Cis Woman | She/Her age & date of birth: 25 years old | November 14th, 1997 neighborhood: Downtown time living in nashville: 7 years occupation: Pop Singer signed to Applause Entertainment Group
BACKGROUND.
Marcus and Ida Harris have what their daughter’s have dubbed the most cliche of all love stories. They’d met in high school — the quarterback and a cheerleader who would go on their first date to the movies. They’d go on to be prom king and queen, brave the long distance of two different colleges and the rest would be history. They’d settle down in their hometown, have the big white wedding, Marcus would go on to teach middle school while Ida carried on the family business as a talented seamstress, and eventually the pair would bring four daughters into the world. Alex had been born first — headstrong and independent from the moment she took her first steps. A few years later Gemma had made her appearance, the polar opposite of her big sister — the sweetest little soul who cried if she so much as stepped on an ant. Ida and Mark had agreed to try one more time with hopes of having a boy. Instead, they’d ended up with twin girls, Hallie and Gia, and their family was complete.
Looking back on her childhood, the word that most often comes to mind for Gia is warmth. It had been chaotic, to say the very least, but it had always been full of love and laughter. While her sister’s found their niche in various sports or hobbies, Gia had her heart set on music. It had started off with piano lessons as a child, though that quickly spiralled into more. Guitar, voice, drums — she’d tried the saxophone and french horn at one point, but woodwind and brass weren’t really for her. She was most comfortable with an acoustic guitar in her lap, fingers strumming until they were calloused and sore. When she was fourteen she started writing her own music and on weekends her parents would take turns driving her around to various talent showcases and gigs. She wasn’t picky, playing whatever was offered, just happy for the experience.
Despite her parent’s wishes, Gia opted not to go to college. She saw the whole thing as a waste of both her time and money, seeing as she had no idea what she would even study. For as long as she could remember, all that she wanted to do was be on stage. How was sitting in a lecture hall five days a week going to help her with that? She’d made a deal with her parents — she would stay in Nashville until she was twenty-two and if nothing had panned out, she would try it their way. It wasn’t that they didn’t support her, because they did, but they also knew the chances of making it as a singer were about one in a million and wanted their daughter to have a fall back plan. So while Hallie moved into a college dorm, Gia moved into a studio apartment in Nashville. It had been harder than she expected. She didn’t know anyone and the city was so much bigger than she was used to, but over time she settled into a routine. And when her twenty second birthday came and went, and Gia made zero moves to go to college, no one was surprised.
Instead, got a job as a bartender, the owner eventually letting her perform when it was appropriate. And when she wasn’t working, she was writing and composing. Playing gigs where she could, sending her music to anyone she thought might have a connection and posting on various social media sites. Every rejection was devastating, but Gia pushed through, unwilling to go home with her tail tucked between her legs. It was actually her biggest heartbreak that would lead to her biggest win. After she’d been blindsided by her long-term ex breaking things off, citing a change of heart (which had been code for ‘I’ve been fucking someone else’) and leaving the brunette devastated. She’d written some of her best work though, and before she really knew what was happening, one of her songs had gone viral.
Though it’s a cliche, everything after that was a blur. It all happened so fast that Gia felt like she’d just woken up one day and everything had changed. She’d been signed to Applause Entertainment Group who had her in the studio recording her debut album — Brutal — before the ink on her contract was even dry. Her viral song proved not to be a fluke, with multiple of her singles reaching number one on the charts and her album rising to height’s none of them had seen coming, winning her two Grammy’s (Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album). Not long after that, Gia had gone out on her first tour. It wasn’t anything massive, a few months in North America mostly playing amphitheatres but it had been everything that she had worked for.
By the fall of 2022, the tour was over and Gia had settled back in Nashville. With Brutal having debuted over a year ago, she knows that people will be expecting her to go back into the studio and begin recording her next album soon. But the truth is that she has no idea where to start on that. It isn’t that she hasn’t been writing — in fact, she feels like she’s written more songs in the last eighteen months than she had in her entire life up to this point, but there’s a fear gnawing in the pit of her stomach that all of this is just too good to be true. That she’ll put her heart out there again only to flop. That her success really will have been a short lived fluke. She’s struggling to adjust to her newfound fame while navigating the next steps of her career.

^^^ Tom Taylor (Cregan Stark) and Harry Collet (Jace Velaryon) chillin' someplace. It doesn't appear to be The North.
From Harry's Instagram.
Harry also posted this image, perhaps to tease us a little.

love at first bite: the playlist 2/8
🎵 Harry Styles—Sunflower, Vol.6
because sunflowers? 🌻 and other things. it’s a very domestic, cutesy song with some awkward vibes. she’s the sunflower, he’s the guy who is obsessed with getting to know her. you get it.

i ran to ebay and typed in "wizard", hoping to see some little pewter statues with marbles for orbs. i was so delighted by the thought of them, for a moment I lived in a world where harry potter didn't exist
