Nvidia's Upcoming AI Chip Is Set to Exceed $30,000 Price - Technology Org
CNBC reports that Nvidia’s upcoming AI chip, named Blackwell, is set to be priced at over $30,000.

This information was mentioned by the company’s CEO Jensen Huang.
The new generation graphics processor, tailored for artificial intelligence tasks, is expected to be highly sought after for training and deploying AI applications like ChatGPT. Huang mentioned during an interview on “Squawk on the Street” that significant technological innovations were required to bring Blackwell to market, with Nvidia investing approximately $10 billion in research and development costs.
The projected price range for Blackwell, between $30,000 and $40,000 per unit, indicates a similarity in pricing to its predecessor, the H100 (also known as the Hopper), which ranged from $25,000 to $40,000 per chip according to analyst estimates.
The introduction of the Hopper series in 2022 marked a notable price increase for Nvidia’s AI chips compared to previous generations.
Huang explained that the cost of Nvidia’s new AI chips isn’t solely attributed to the chip itself but also encompasses expenses related to designing data centers and integrating them into other companies’ data centers.
Since the onset of the AI boom in late 2022, driven by the introduction of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Nvidia’s AI chips have contributed to a threefold increase in quarterly sales. Major players in the AI industry, such as Meta, have heavily relied on Nvidia’s H100 for training their AI models. Meta, for instance, disclosed plans to purchase hundreds of thousands of Nvidia H100 GPUs this year.
Recently, Nvidia unveiled at least three variants of the Blackwell AI accelerator — the B100, B200, and GB200, with the latter pairing two Blackwell GPUs with an Arm-based CPU. These models feature slightly different memory configurations and are slated for release later this year.

I had lost a large amount of money buying and selling Arena vehicles when the update first came out. Out of all those mostly-useless but fun contraptions, the monster truck reigned supreme. Unlike in freemode, squashing opponents to death was not only possible but oh so satisfying in the Arena game modes. Sure, the primary weapons were ehh but who needed those when you could kill the enemy by just driving over them. There were bonuses on the game modes one week recently so I bought myself a Sasquatch on PS5 as well. I named it Bike Remover and I made it my mission to make every Deathbike player have a worse day. At one point, I happened to get into a Flag War 1v1 with a Deathbike - a certain loss if the biker knew what to do. Luckily for me, the other guy absolutely threw the second round after demolishing me on the first. It didn't help their cause that I was playing like an absolute sweaty slimy rat, leaving kinetic mines in tight places (instant death for bikes) and camping the hell out of the only entry to my flag. I managed to eek out a win in that second round, and the opponent promptly ragequit.
While the crown of my favorite Import/Export Special Vehicle would have to go to the Phantom Wedge, the Wastelander is a close second. With a low price tag, more suspension travel than the height of some cars and a (albeit very low) possibility of four or five Combat MG's on board, it had just enough dazzle to convince me to buy it. Being very clearly based on a fun vehicle from a Fast & Furious film helped it too.
My first GB200 was a build based on pictures from a no-skip playlist of cool, quirky, or legendary cars: an originally-2003 car book simply called Supercars (by Richard Gunn). Of course, the RS200 is in there. As for its in-game counterpart, I can't say the GB200 was my favourite rally car - despite feeling quite zippy. The honor of the fave goes to a slightly older car...
I'll be honest, the Brawler flew under my radar. I've had one on old gen and recently obtained one (as a prize ride) on new gen too. The Brawler has been in the back of my mind as a long-undefeated top speed king for its class, but not much more. It was only the first time I fired up the prize ride that I learned about another trick up its sleeve: a truly unique-sounding engine. No easy feat for a 2015 car.
You’d think a big, spiked behemoth like the Future Shock Cerberus would have packed some serious firepower, wouldn’t you? Nope. You and your passenger each got nothing but a dinky flamethrower that barely reached beyond the chassis and couldn’t singe the wings off of a mosquito. In fact, the Cerberus’ weapons were more prone to damaging itself than its aggressor, and you couldn’t even switch to handheld weapons as a backup. Nevertheless, it still looked totally badass, especially flying through the sky at the hands of someone who had mastered the shunt boost.
Sasquatches were a common sight among friends and crew, because a giant jumping monster truck is something everyone can enjoy. I went with the Apocalypse variant, because the Future Shock was a little too weird, even for me. Strangely, GTA monster trucks were never much good at crushing cars, typically pushing them around and occasionally toppling over instead, but at least the Sasquatch could jump on top of them like Goombas. I wonder if it was a subtle metaphor for IRL monster truck shows moving away from car crushing and shifting to racing and stunt-themed events. As long as I can still BUY THE WHOLE SEAT BUT ONLY NEED THE EDGE SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY
The Wastelander was such a goofy thing. It was used in scripted missions as a vehicle transport, but there was no way to actually transport vehicles with it in regular gameplay, so you were just left with this oversized hauler that took up two lanes. When we pulled it out of the garage, it was usually to ford one of the western rivers or to bring an obnoxiously huge vehicle to a car meet.
Sometimes I thought about buying a Technical just for the fun of it, but I could never justify the purchase, because I didn’t need it and the Insurgent did everything it could do. Then the Technical Aqua was introduced, which solved the dilemma cleanly. Once it was in the water and not getting the barrels hung up on streetlights and pieces of geometry, it was a good time. The game really could have used more things to do in the water on the main map.
Most of the special vehicles that came with the Import/Export update were used to test and try out new features on cars, like the Phantom Wedge’s plow, or in this case, the Rocket Voltic’s jet engine. This car was literally just a Voltic with a rocket engine installed in the back. It took a little while for it to recharge, but back then, we didn’t care and just had a good time with it. Even after newer and better vehicles with rocket boosts were released, the Rocket Voltic still had a niche in baiting griefers hiding in passive mode into taking a ride and being forcibly ejected without a parachute 400 feet above the ground.
To this day, the Ruiner 2000 remains the single most expensive land vehicle in the game at 5.7 million GTA-bucks, or 4.3 million with the trade discount. That’s on top of the 2.5 million you needed for the office and warehouse to store it. All those millions didn’t really seem worth it until years later, when it was discovered to be one of the best ways to bully Oppressors. The Ruiner 2000 was nothing special by today’s standards, with only eight missiles, a jump function, and a parachute, but owning one opened up access to the Fully Loaded VIP job. Fully Loaded gave the player who started it a unique Ruiner 2000 with infinite missiles, Mobile Operations Center armor, and immunity to missile lock-on, in addition to turning off police for everyone in the session for 20 minutes. Seeing those two words pop up was like hearing Gabriel blow the trumpets, and every crew member in the session knew it was time to bring about the griefer’s personal Götterdämmerung.
The last Ruiner in my collection is this one here. The ability for muscle cars to wheelie was added to the game a few years after it came out on PC, breathing new life into the class by adding a traversal option, so I needed a Ruiner that didn’t date back to 2015. Much more care was put into its appearance, with true white crew paint, glass t-top panels, and a drink in the cupholder for that extra lived-in touch. It was my daily driver for quite some time and eventually retired to a place of honor next to my nightclub’s office, where it could still be part of my GTA life up until the very end.
One of my all-time favorite IRL cars is the Ford RS200, a 600HP monster masquerading as a quirky ‘80s grocery getter to the untrained eye. GTA paid respects to its Group B origins with the GB200, and the conversion was pretty darn faithful. It was a little pokey at the top end because it was released during the developers’ obsession with “advanced” handling flags that only served to hamper performance, but that didn’t stop me from throwing it down the dirt roads and beaches all day.
The Brawler was another obscure off-road sports car that only a game like GTA would feature. It was based on the Local Motors Rally Fighter, a lifted limited-production car powered by a Corvette motor. It was just as fast as its real-life counterpart, but in a twist of fate the Rally Fighter is likely much safer to drive as the Brawler was infamous for having brakes made of gas station toilet paper. You needed a co-driver to watch the trail well in advance or you’d be parking it in a ditch, which was a fate worse than death in the dark ages of 2015, well before the ability to dismiss personal vehicles was added.
Sometimes you just want a truck. The Caracara 4x4 was added to the game well after the original Caracara failed to sate demand for an F-150 Raptor, and it was an apology well accepted, with great aesthetics and capability. I’m not really a fan of CCSB trucks in real life, but the four seats were welcome here because I drove this thing everywhere. Lots of other people did too, and the Caracara 4x4 was a regular sight in public lobbies well after it faded out of being the new hotness. Flying in the face of memes about American truck owners, people who drove trucks in GTA were almost always total bros and very chill. It spoke volumes about someone’s personality when, in a game full of multi-million-dollar exotics and futuristic wondercars, they chose to drive a good ol’ pickup truck.

Introducing Azure HBv5 & Azure ND GB200 V6 Virtual Machines
Introducing Azure HBv5 Virtual Machines: An Advancement in HPC Memory Bandwidth
The upcoming generation of specially designed virtual machines for HPC Azure At Microsoft Ignite today, Satya Nadella introduced Azure HBv5, the newest CPU-based virtual machine for HPC clients and their applications. The most memory-intensive HPC applications, including computational fluid dynamics, automotive and aerospace simulation, weather modeling, energy research, molecular dynamics, computer-aided engineering, and more, are best suited for this new virtual machine (VM).Image credit to Azure
To overcome the largest HPC constraint, increase memory bandwidth by 8 times. The biggest obstacle to reaching the required levels of workload performance (time to insight) and cost-effectiveness for many HPC customers is memory performance from traditional server designs. Microsoft and AMD have collaborated to create a unique 4th Generation EPYC processor with high bandwidth memory (HBM) to get around this issue. Four of these processors collaborate to provide almost 7 TB/s of memory bandwidth in an Azure HBv5 virtual machine.
For comparison, this is up to 35 times more expensive than a 4–5-year-old HPC server nearing the end of its hardware lifecycle, up to 8 times more expensive than the newest bare-metal and cloud alternatives, and nearly 20 times more expensive than Azure HBv3 and Azure HBv2 (3rd Gen EPYC with 3D V-cache “Milan-X” and 2nd Gen EPYC “Rome”).
HPC advancements and enhancements throughout the technology stack
A notable characteristic of Azure HBv5 is its memory bandwidth, but Microsoft and AMD have co-engineered enhancements across the platform to give users a virtual machine (VM) that is safe, balanced, user-configurable, and incredibly performant for a range of HPC workloads.
Every Azure HBv5 virtual machine will have:
400–450 GB of RAM with 6.9 TB/s of memory bandwidth (STREAM Triad) (HBM3)
Each core can have up to 9 GB of memory (customer configurable).
A maximum of 352 AMD EPYC “Zen4” CPU cores with peak rates of 4 GHz (customizable)
Infinity Fabric bandwidth between CPUs is doubled compared to other AMD EPYC server platforms.
Single-tenant only architecture with SMT disabled (1 VM per server)
200 Gb/s per CPU SoC, balanced with 800 Gb/s of NVIDIA Quantum-2 InfiniBand.
Scaling MPI applications to hundreds of thousands of CPU cores with HBM power is possible with Azure VMSS Flex.
Azure Accelerated Networking @ 160 Gbps with a second-generation Azure Boost NIC
Up to 50 GB/s read and 30 GB/s write bandwidth can be achieved with a 14 TB local NVMe SSD.
Register for the Azure HBv5 Virtual Machine Preview
The Azure HBv5 Preview, which will launch in the first half of 2025, is now available for registration. See Azure HBv5 and other Azure supercomputing solutions at Microsoft Azure booth #1905 at Supercomputing 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia, November 19–22. You can also speak with professionals about how this virtual machine may help your HPC workloads.
NVIDIA Blackwell is used by Microsoft to power the upcoming AI supercomputing frontier
Based on the NVIDIA accelerated computing architecture, I am happy to inform that the release of the first cloud private preview of the Azure ND GB200 V6 VM series. The NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip powers this most recent virtual machine, which has NVIDIA Grace CPUs and NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs with remarkable AI supercomputing capabilities for training cutting-edge frontier models and speeding up generative inferencing.
Microsoft’s custom server with NVIDIA Blackwell, which has two GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchips, is the foundation of the Azure ND GB200 V6 VM series. Each GB200 Superchip uses the NVIDIA NVLink-C2C interface to link a Grace CPU with two powerful Blackwell GPUs. Applications may now access a unified memory space at high speed and coherently thanks to NVLink-C2C, which makes programming easier and supports the high-speed memory requirements of next-generation trillion-parameter large language models (LLMs).
Up to 72 Blackwell GPUs can be used in a single NVLink domain with Microsoft’s ND GB200 V6 virtual machines, which can scale up to 18 compute servers via NVIDIA NVLink Switch trays. These virtual machines may also expand out to tens of thousands of GPUs for previously unheard-of AI supercomputing performance because they are connected via the newest NVIDIA Quantum InfiniBand.
The most recent version of Azure Boost, a specially designed solution that improves the server virtualization stack for increased robustness, manageability, and security, will be installed on any Microsoft server with NVIDIA Blackwell. Azure Boost provides optimal IO performance for both CPU and GPU, supports 200 Gbps network speeds, and speeds up storage performance.
These capabilities offer outstanding value to its clients by improving performance, scalability, and dependability. Commercial businesses can stay ahead of the curve and boost business results by being able to develop and implement advanced AI models more rapidly and effectively. Azure clients can confidently take on their most ambitious AI projects with the remarkable compute power provided by the cutting-edge architecture of the most recent Azure VM series with NVIDIA GB200 Superchips and Microsoft’s optimized AI software stack, whether they are creating intricate neural networks or using pre-existing models with special datasets to make them more business-relevant.

If you haven't watched my previous post, then please [CLICK ME!].
My recorded video (via XBOX game bar & edited from Filmora)⏺️🎮🖥️: ↑ (Pls watch.)
• Yup, you heard me, this is my last snowy day moment. While I'm driving with my custom Vapid GB200, I noticed that no AI vehicles were roaming around except parking near the side of the road. 🛣️🚗🚙❓Strange... What the heck is going on? 🤨 Did someone disable the busy traffic by using cheats or mods from the player's hands (or something)? 😕 On the plus side, this is great if I want to go full-on driving solo or even a racing playground without any distractions from the AI vehicle.
• As for the "Gooch" random event, I gave it another chance... And, I didn't unlock the "Gooch" mask. 😕Ah well, that mask is not suited to my face, anyway... 😐🤷 Let's move on to my last photos.
1st to 6th Snapmatic image(s):
• Here are my last six snapmatic photos 🎄📲😁🤳, while at the same time are my first of six snapmatic photos this year 2023. [1st to 3rd] The first & second rows are me featuring a Christmas Tree with important decorations. You've already seen these on my 2021's Festivity Holidays, right? Including the third row albeit a different vehicle? 😊 Yup, but this time, in the night & featuring my Ocelot Ardent Classic Sports car w/ “Deck the Halls” Livery. Although you can't see it, so I adjust the brightness in auto-correct from the MS Picture Manager '07. These six photos are now in my photo album.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Ocelot Ardent has already been added to the "Sports Classics" online race lobby, due to the update patch from their previous 2022 DLC "The Criminal Enterprises". Yes! Finally, we're now able to drive our Ardents in a race session! Rejoice! 😄🚘🏁
Well, that’s all for now, and "The End" of my "Festivity Holidays". We'll see you in December 2023! 😊🎄🌟🎅🎁
(😡 Unwanted tresspassers are prohibited to see this!😡)
Well, that’s all for now. And If you want to see my previous car prize, and more, then please → [CLICK ME!]. 😉
(Where do all the links go you may ask? I made a post about all GTA V Online-related links. This will prevent error save drafts, in my future post. Plus, I’m always updating my link post.)
