Hot damn, I've gotten out of my art block and decided to post some Borderlands OCs. With how disgraceful I've heard the movie is and how bad the plot and characters arcs of Borderlands 3 was, I wanted to revive my nostalgia and fix what has been broken. So, here's my own little group of Vault Hunters from left right:

Deacon: A recently ex-marauder who joined the Vault Hunters after an incident where he set his boss, a Nomad named Seymour, on fire which forced him to be on the run. He joined Raoul's space ship to escape Seymour and his goonies, and he planned to leave as soon as possible. That changed, however, when he learned that they were looking for a vault. Realizing this could help him pay Seymour to leave him alone, as well as find himself a permanent way to get himself off of Pandora, agrees to join the Vault Hunters. Deacon is a sarcastic, harsh, brash man who tends to not get along with anyone. His motives seem selfish, but the others are starting to suspect that he might not be searching the universe just for the vault...

Raoul: An optimistic, friendly man turned lab rat. He had lived a relatively peaceful life with his mother on the planet Polites (a planet I made up for the setting), before Hyperion came and took them away to be tested on. In the process of the experimentation, he was transformed halfway into a lab rat, the process only being stopped when his mother had escaped and killed the scientists doing the tests. They soon escaped the Hyperion Hub through a space pod, and landed on Pandora with a crash. Raoul survived, his mother did not. Days turned into weeks with Raoul wondering the strange, hostile landscapes of Pandora, all while gaining the unnatural hunger for flesh that all rats have. He spent years on Pandora, scavenging, surviving, hating. But that all changed when he meant a certain Gunzerker who invited him to come eat REAL good food with his Abuela. Raoul found kindness on that harsh planet, and he cherished it. In fact, one of the quotes from the Crimson Raiders "You may have murder on your mind, but it costs nothing to be kind" became a motivational quote and lifestyle for him. Seven years later, he now wants to make Pandora a better place for everyone and he spends his saved up money for a decent ship to find a crew, go out and find a vault hidden within the galaxy, and use the riches he finds to help others. But his crew is not always on the same page as him, and he finds himself worrying about going back to some old, horrible habits.

Gary: A friendly, one of a kind goliath who can take off his helmet and still somehow be in control, not attack his allies, and can still put it back on. The reasonings for this is unknown, but people around him have made theories. Gary used to be part of a bandit group who he viewed as friends. The bandits took advantage of his control with his helmet and goliath rage, believing that, because he didn't attack them due to "friendship", that they could treat him as badly as they wanted to. They would throw darts at him, get him stuck fighting bullymongs, leave him getting bit and mauled by skags, and even beat him with sticks and the butts of their guns when he did or said something they didn't like. But, worse of all, they would sometimes do target practice on him with electric weapons. He hated this most of all. He hated how it hurt. He hated how they laughed. He hated how they never even apologized. And it made him angry. It made him so angry that he had enough one day, took off his helmet, and proceeded to beat every last one of them to death. Once he was finished, he placed his helmet back on and left to go on a journey to find new and better friends, ones that wouldn't shoot him and hit him. That is when he met Raoul, who found a spot in his heart for Gary and, although still a bit cautiously, allowed him to join. Despite being dim-witted, as nearly all goliaths are, Gary is friendly, cheerful, and loves to make sure his friends are happy. He has a hobby of collecting stickers, which he will put on his helmet.

Celeste: A laid-back former Lance Assassin and mercenary. She was an orphan forced into the Lance Assassins as a little girl and was trained to be ruthless and fierce. She found this lifestyle terrible, but she was a child who was desperate to survive. When she got older, however, she started to stray from her orders and became less scared of Atlas, despite the threats given to her. She hated killing innocent people, wanting to instead use her talents to take down bandits and scumbags (like Atlas!). Things came to a halt, however, when she had a secret affair with a Pandoran man and fell pregnant. After finding this out, her commanding officer killed Celeste's lover and planned to kill Celeste as well. Celeste killed her instead, escaped and left the Lance Assassins, but not before stealing one of the Lance Assassin swords. She planned to leave a somewhat normal life (as normal as one can get on Pandora) with her baby. Unfortunately, her old squadron found her and killed her baby. In a fit of rage, she slaughtered them all and left her home, planning to never look back. She took up mercenary work for a few years before hearing about a certain lab rat wanting to travel the cosmos for a vault. Deciding it was better than what she was doing currently, she decided to join the new Vault Hunters.

Hey so to anyone whose ever wondered why I like Jaune I could probably give a good amount of reasons.

From his knight aesthetic, to him not being a Gary Stu, but a very flawed, believable character whose trying to improve himself. Hell I LOVE that he is a reference to Joan of Arc.

That he's not classically played masculine, but also isn't portrayed effeminate or flamboyant to oppose it either. I like that Jaune feels like someone who at a glance could be from a earth.

He feels like he was a Civilian, and you know what, I also have a weakness for blue eyed blondes... Maybe that's why I Love the idea of there being a whole family of them.

Heck conceptionally Jaune has a lot in common with the stereotypical Shonen protagonist... But then again so does Ruby and Yang. And Blake fit the more edgy manga Protags...

But if I had to name one thing I like about Jaune, even more then his determination/ Willpower (Stubbornness when it's misdirected like it was in Jaunedice)

I think what I like most is, well... That Jaune is arguably the bravest character in RWBY (Oscar could be argued to be that too though)

Let me explain, so... Everyone else in Beacon is different then Jaune mentally. And the reason is simple. a combination of their aura and training...

All the main cast besides Jaune were overpowered teenagers with strength like Captain America. And there in lies the reason.

They don't view things the same way Jaune does, in the Red Trailer, we literally see Ruby tear apart a horde of Beowulves in minutes on the way to visit her mother's grave. Which implies she does this regularly on said trek.

Now for those watching we gain the same mentality and understanding as the girls of RWBY. Beowulves aren't that strong, their mobs... Weak, easy to beat and need big numbers to be even a bit challenging.

But if you simply look at them, compare them to Ruby... Every Beowulve is a freaking WEREWOLF!!!

That is fucking terrifying, take away the aura and that is a brickshitting situation Ruby is in. But to her it's really not, because she has spent her whole life killing these things to the point where she can do so effortlessly.

Hell we see this again in Yang when she literally doesn't just enter a fight with a gang of known armed criminals but starts it! Literally grabbing the kingpin by the balls.

Which, why wouldn't she, she punches fucking armored Grizzly bears to death. And so everyone one of JNPR and RWBY outside of Jaune look at Grimm and Criminals in the sense of...

Oh neat, a bad guy, let's kill/ beat them up...

When their being fired at their not thinking they could get shot, NO! Their thinking it's okay to get shot a few times cuz they have aura that'll protect them.

And that's why Jaune is so brave, he went to Beacon as a civilian, unaware of aura. Now stop and think about how far behind Jaune was actually in his own mind.

Because remember, he didn't know about aura, the stuff that lets everyone else be so OP. Jaune fought a Ursa Major and killed it without prior training and wasn't using aura techniques, he had enough physical prowess and strength to cleave through it in a single shot...

A literal Marine couldn't do that... But Jaune did, if it were a world without aura, Jaune would've easily been one of the physically strongest people. But because aura existed, people who were trained their entire lives with it are worlds apart above him.

But my point is this, everyone else isn't so much brave as confident and in Yang and Weiss's cases moreso arrogant. Ruby looked at a Goliath while she was in Mt. Glenn and her first thought was to go and kill it... That thing was a fucking Kaiju. And she wasn't scared of it, oh no she was excited to kill it!

Initiation was literally fun for Yang, she had a blast during it, Nora too, Blake wasn't concerned and until she was forced to ride a Nevermore Weiss was so at ease that she was willing to strike out on her own instead of teaming up with someone else, not once but twice.

But Jaune is different, to him, a Beowulf is a monster that can kill him in a single strike...A Ursa is a beast that could kill the strongest men... A single attack could end you life...

And yet he was still willing to take initiation, there was no second chances, or magic barrier to protect him, hell he didn't even have a gun.

Dude was gonna fight bears and Werewolfs with a sword and shield. In his mind a single blow would kill him, this wasn't fun, this wasn't exciting or something to be taken lightly.

It was a life or death struggle, and just because Pyrrha gave him aura doesn't mean that mentality magically goes away. No to Jaune Grimm still are threat, it why he shows nervousness when fighting them unlike everyone else.

But he still does... everyone else fights Grimm like it's a game or chore. But to Jaune he is actually fighting for his life, these things scare him, fighting scares him, and mentally he is still very much leaning more towards civilian.

But it's because of that that when he fights he is being braver then all the others. Not to say their cowards though.

I think ultimately that's why I like Jaune most, because I never stop realizing that he is fighting in a darksouls game while everyone else feels like their in DMC.

But despite that he doesn't hesitate to fight beside them, to try and help and is willingly putting his life on the line when everyone else is just having a easy run of it.

And I'd argue this is why Ozpin made him leader.

Ryu Number: Don Adams

Don Adams was an American actor, best known for his role as the incredibly skilled yet incredibly clumsy secret agent Maxwell Smart in the secret agent spoof sitcom Get Smart. If you don't recognize the title—which, fair enough, it aired literally sixty years ago—he also notably voiced the dimwitted cyborg police officer protagonist of the Inspector Gadget cartoons.

He has a Ryu Number of at most 4.

The last portion of Space Quest V: Roger Wilco – The Next Mutation features our titular protagonist infiltrating the SCS Goliath, making use of its cramped, labyrinthine maintenance tunnels.

Apparently someone in development thought the passageways a bit reminiscent, video-game-wise: Take the right wrong path, and Roger will speedily crawl in the other direction with an unexpected cameo on his tail.

Space Quest 6: Roger Wilco in the Spinal Frontier is fully voiced, including—as you may know already because @ryunumber—noted disc jockey, announcer, and voice actor Gary Owens. Normally this wouldn't be enough to count the actor themselves, even if they are credited in the game—but persist past the end credits and fade-out and you'll hear the narrator thank you for playing Space Quest 6 before extroducing himself specifically as "Gary Owens, signing off." Totally counts!

Finally, guess who got himself a copy of TV Land Presents Blast From the Past?

Mind, it's such a jalopy of a game I couldn't get it to run on my computer without serious graphical issues...

... but I was able to get it to run just runnily enough to confirm its nature! If you ever wanted to play a game where TV stars of a bygone era ask you trivia questions about the shows they were on... then you're not exactly choked with options, are you?

Gary Owens pulls double-duty here, playing both quiz host and TV star questionmonger, his questions focusing on the sketch comedy show Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In (where he was the on-screen announcer).

Don Adams' questions, of course, have to do with Get Smart. Unfortunately, I couldn't get any clean, non-glitched-out footage of him from my recordings, so have this video I extracted from the game files instead.

Oh, no. It's real. I'm so worried they'll screw it up.

Gargoyles was one of my favorite shows when I was about twelve-years-old.

It was very subversive in how it educated you. You had these Gargoyles from medieval Scotland waking up in modern day New York City and deciding to protect the city as their new home. "Stone by day, warriors by night!" And not only was there an on-going story but there were characters from folklore and literature. The Weird Sisters, MacBeth, Oberon, Titania, Puck... You had to read Shakespeare, King Arthur, and folklore from around the world to understand who or what the characters were interacting with. It tricked kids into being interested in classic literature and I loved it. The show even created a literary / TV writing trope called the Xanatos Gambit. Named for the Gargoyles' main antagonist, David Xanatos (who later redeems himself, more or less) a Xanatos Gambit is when an antagonist has set up a scheme where no matter the outcome he wins on some level. Keith David had voiced Goliath (the main gargoyle) and the main human character was a human, woman detective who was half African and half Native American. And you know if this was made today people would call Elisa's very existence "Woke." My favorite character was the show's depiction of Puck. That was a plot twist I did not expect. To me the episodes The Gathering and The Gathering Part 2 was a big game changer. And they got Broadway icon, Terrence Mann (who I saw live in The Rocky Horror Show in 2001) as Oberon. I really hope this new live-action show is good but it could so easily be a disaster. Please, be good... This show was such a big part of my childhood.

Atomic Monster and Disney Branded Television Fly Again With Live-Action Gargoyles Series For Disney+

Almost 30 years after first appearing as an animated television series, Gargoyles is taking flight once more, this time in live-action according to The Hollywood Reporter and DEADLINE

The project hails from Annabelle writer Gary Dauberman and James Wan with Atomic Monster (Warner Bros "The Conjuring Universe", Universal Pictures & Blumhouse Studios "M3GAN" Franchise) serving as production studio with Disney Branded Television trought Disney Television Studios. No word yet if original creator Greg Weisman will join the project

A live action adaptation had been discussed by Disney since the beginning of the show's run and went with multiple directors over the years at Walt Disney Studios like Todd Garner, Jim Kouf, David Elliot,Paul Lovett and Jordan Peele.

Gargoyles is the lastest Disney TVA property in getting the live action treatment after Kim Possible as a DCOM on 2019 and Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers as a live-action animation hybrid film on Disney+ in 2022 additionaly Gargoyles joins the lastest trend of Disney Afternoon reboots with DuckTales as a animated reboot for Disney XD, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers a Prime-Time Emmy Award live-action animation hybrid film from Walt Disney Studios,Mandeville Films and The Lonely Island on Disney+, Darkwing Duck and TaleSpin as upcoming animated reboots by Point Grey Pictures & Disney TVA also for Disney+

The only shows on The Disney Afternoon slate left to reboots, having films or live action adaptions are Adventures of The Gummi Bears, Goof Troop, Bonkers, The Shnookums & Meat Funny Cartoon Show and The Mighty Ducks The Animated Series.

My Early Thoughts on this Gargoyles Reboot

I was hoping that this was fake news but turns out it's actually real, James Wan confirmed it was real on his Instagram account.

So i'm not excited about this reboot, i'm being very, very sceptical. If it was continuation, I'll be very happy about it but it's a reboot, so it could turn out really good or really bad.

I find it weird that it's going to be live action series, so are the Gargoyles going to CGI and use voice actors for them.

Will they use any of the original cast, like for example keep Keith David as Goliath. could the others have cameos.

I don't know much about James Wan and Gary Dauberman  but apparently they are really good according to people on social media.

Apparently this is the early description.

Goliath is the last of a heroic race of gargoyle warriors who once lived among mankind. Free from a centuries long curse that turned him into stone, Goliath struggles to solve the mystery of his past while watching over modern-day New York City alongside police detective Elisa Maza.

This doesn't appeal to me, does this mean Goliath is the only Gargoyle in this. It will be a big mistake if they don't include the others. I hope it's wrong.

I know it's only in early development at the moment and there are still strikes happening, so it probably won't happen for quite few years yet and things could change or it could be dropped.

For now i'm just going to focus on comic book series and cross my fingers that it will continue for a long time.

TW: Blood and mentions of cannibalism

Decided to do some sketches of one of my Borderlands OCs, Raoul. He's a lab rat who used to live on the planet Polites and was kidnapped by Hyperion. He's a genuinely good and kind person, just a bit messed up, which kind of happens when Hyperion kidnaps you, turns you into a cannibalistic mutant, and you get stuck on Pandora for ten whole years.

Notes:

• He can do the laser eye blast that other lab rats can.

• He considers himself "sober" of cannibalism, despite sometimes eating corpses to heal himself after battle. Deacon, one of my other OCs, calls him out on this often, but Raoul INSISTS that it's somehow different.

• Really, REALLY tries to be Claptrap's friend, but Raoul just can't fully do it. Too much stupid comes out of that little robot and the poor man can only take so much. Compared to most people, however, Raoul has much more tolerance for Claptrap and usually tries to stay friendly to him. Other times, however, the truth slips out.

satyr: you know, I don't actually know the answer to this question. when I think back to when i started watching in 2019, all I remember thinking about CR is "oh that thing I've heard of." No idea where I heard of it. osmosis of the internet? because I used project alpha to watch Relics and Rarities? Maybe my DM at the time mentioned it off-hand to me when I was discussing multi-classing into a trickery cleric with them??? It's like the information spontaneously appeared in my brain, or as if it had always been there. can't explain it

dwarf: my go-to has always been Bar Room Blitz, because I do think it's a fantastic and extremely fun one-shot. I don't know if I'd still rewatch it today, but that has traditionally been my favorite. Otherwise, Song of the Lorelai is up there for me even if only because of Sam's rare deep voice and melee fighter character whom I love

First off, Kroko! (Name ='s Crocodile)

The friendliest and most out going of Scarab's batch, and often seen darting around Liam's legs when they're walking around their dimension.

The most curious about things too, often asks Scarab about the multiverse and about their grandparents. Despite being the friendliest, wants to be like Scarab and help him with God Auditing.

Timsah (aka Tim) (And another word for Crocodile)

Unlike Kroko, Timsah is very, very shy. And feels comfortable the most in either with a group of their fellow clutch, or in the presence of their Scarab and Liam.

They're best buds with Guster and be seen tagging along with her often. Likes to sort things to calm themself down or clinging onto Liam's tail.

Guster (aka Gus) (Name ='s Lizard)

Very artistic of Scarab's batch of hatchlings, and also outgoing and a bit of a troublemaker! She really loves painting, and just making a mess with it too.

Usually seen with Tim, but also just roams about by herself. Has painted many things on one side of the Tree Stump house. Almost always asks Scarab to tell her stories about his Auditing missions.

Ogle (Another Word for Lizard technically)

Enjoys watching Liam judge the cosmic entities and other beings. Wants to one day be a cosmic entity that essentially keeps records of other being's past deeds.

Also really loves detective stories and has dressed up as a sleuth on numerous occasions. Despite sticking around Liam a lot, Scarab is their favorite parent.

Bille (Named after Bille the Hero from Liam's Homeworld)

A sweetheart and doesn't really care for fighting. Really wants to be a crystal architect like his grandparents. Gets along really well with Merid and Maxi, both of which also want to become crystal architects too.

Has a collection of crystals in his room that Scarab has picked up for them in other worlds. Loves spending time with Liam the most and is often seen falling asleep on top of their head.

Carri (Named after a (Mail) Carrier)

Thinks Fionna is just the coolest much to Scarab's dismay. It's because when they first saw her they got really excited that they have the same teeth. When visiting OOO with Scarab one day, they became best friends with Astrid.

Often asks their parents to bring sweets back from Fionna's world and is a big fan of Gary's treats. One of the main reasons for Liam's frequent visits to their world in particular and also OOO.

Goliath (Named after the Goliath Beetle)

Lil guy is often put in charge of keeping an eye on all the other 52 kids when Liam and Scarab are away and no one else can watch over them. Quite, but not timid, or a stick in the mud.

Most of the other hatchlings do find comfort in his presence just like their parents. He's also the biggest of all the 53! Also molted out of his grub stage first too.

Has the deepest voice out of all of them. Likes making sure everyone is safe and helping people. Gets along pretty well with any visiting Finn, especially Uncle Finn (Bug world!).

One day, wants to go adventuring just like Liam used to in their homeworld.

Sargantana (aka Ana) (Yet another word for Lizard)

Really looks up to Scarab and tends to mimic his no nonsense attitude. They're also pretty hotheaded- and that worries Scarab sometimes.

Often copies whatever he's doing when he's back home like a little shadow. It used to confuse him when they first started doing it.

Loves taking naps on Scarab and Liam and often relaxed around their shoulders like a boa. Also wants to be a God Auditor like him and studies for it in secret (Both Liam and Scarab know about their "secret" studying though- they aren't very discreet lol).

Lagarto (aka Gar) (Yep- Another word for Lizard)

Really, reaaaaaaally loves gardening and working with plants. Often with Scarab when he's in the garden and insists on helping him tend to the plants.

Wants to research the entire multiverse's worth of plants, so essentially wants to be a botanists.

Also enjoys cooking with Liam (who essentially has it as a hobby now so they won't be bored when Scarab's away- and also so they won't forget Gemma's recipes she made for them and Finn. Leads to a lot of food being made) and really loves making dishes focused with fruits and vegetables. 

Scarab and Uncle Finn bring him plants and he has his own little collection of plants in a corner of the "greenhouse" room.

Sisalik (aka Sal) (Yet again, another word for Lizard)

Likes to bite! A lot. But is another softy who just really likes to gnaw on things. (Scarab jokes that they inherited the urge to gnaw on things from Liam). When they don't have anything to gnaw on- they often resort to biting Liam's tail.

Along with Gremxula, gets very sad when they inevitably tear their favorite toys and pillows and Liam often sews them back together again. Speaking of, the duo are never far from each other.

Liam is their favorite parent, and they'd never bite Sir Ducky. Has told Liam and Scarab that "if their ever was a job for biting we'd (Gremxula included) be the best for it!" which made them both have a good laugh about it.

Gremxula (aka Xula) (Once again, another word for Lizard)

Best buds with Sisalik, they even hatched at the same time! Also loves to bite- but unlike their sibling they love to gnaw on Scarab's ankles lol. Doesn't do him any damage, but ends up with him dragging his leg or walking awkwardly with them latched along for the ride.

He gets slightly annoyed with it but it makes Liam laugh every time it happens so he lets it slide.

Scarab suspects Xula does it to make them laugh specifically. They have their own favorite plush toy, and they named it "Sir Petals". Sir Petals has been through a lot.

Like Sisalik, Liam's their favorite parent, and Vera is their favorite grandparent. They want to be as tall as Deargadaol one day.

Lucy (aka one of the Lucertola kids lol- which was yet another word for Lizard)

Loves to bake and cook with Liam too! But Scarab's his favorite parent, and more often than not, the treats he makes often look like him.

Has told Liam and Scarab that he wants to be a baker one day. Occasionally gets teased (not mean-spiritedly though) by his siblings for looking a bit like a rat but doesn't care.

But eventually grows to like it, especially when Scarab tells him about how Fionna had a prophetic dream and he was essentially at rat bus.

Scarab somewhat regrets telling him about it, because more often than not Lucy makes new treats with his face slapped onto a rat shape. He (Lucy) always gives Liam the first batch of his food, and Liam was the one who encouraged him to make Scarab rats lol.

Wants to work with Gary and learn from him (yet again much to Scarab's dismay but he lets his kids do what they want for the most part).

Vandu (Named after a Jewel Beetle)

Loves helping with anything really, and has a real sweet tooth for Scarab's homeworld foods. Helps out Goliath take care of their other siblings with things a lot.

Doesn't like the feeling of certain textures like fabrics on their underbelly. Wants to be a librarian and often asks Scarab if he's ever been to libraries in the multiverse and what they were like.

Very chatty and loves sharing things they've learned with their siblings and parents. Also helps Lucy find new recipes to try out frequently.

Driezas (Lizard name here we gooo)

She loves flowers, and enjoys planting them and especially eating the edible ones. Along with Lagarto, has a little corner to herself in the "greenhouse" room where she tends to a patch of flowers.

Fascinated by Liam's stories about their homeworld's giant plants and wants to visit there one day.

Loves sleeping in Liam's hair and hugging onto their horns. Is good pals with Eidecshe and the two siblings garden together a lot.

Doesn't like to sleep, and either Scarab or Liam have to essentially cradle her in their arms to get her to knock out. Another surefire way to have her fall asleep is in a bug pile with a big group of her other siblings.

And finally Eidecshe! (Aaaaand name means Lizard)

Doesn't really care for plants, but enjoys spending time with their siblings and dad so they help out anyways. Second biggest of the hatchlings, right after Goliath.

Often naps in the garden right after helping out. Will 100% climb on Scarab's back while he's working on his plant collection and knock out. Scarab's gotten used to it.

Also will climb onto Liam's tail to take a nap, it's their favorite place to nap actually- really comforts them.

More often than not seen sleeping in the oddest of places.
